Twitter Reinstates QAnon Kingpin Ron Watkins

 

THE TWITTER ACCOUNT of QAnon conspiracy theorist Ron Watkins has been restored to the platform after being banned in 2020 as part of an effort to curb the reach of the conspiracy on the website. Watkins’ return is the latest in a series of account reinstatements for extremists under the administration of Twitter owner Elon Musk.

 

The son of Jim Watkins, owner and administrator of the extremist message board 8kun (previously known as 8chan), Watkins was an instrumental figure in the proliferation and growth of the QAnon conspiracy theory. Serving as an official administrator to 8Kun from 2016 until a 2020 resignation, Ron Watkins oversaw the message board at the time when the figure of β€œQ” exploded into the online ecosystem.

 

Q, an anonymous figure claiming to hold high-level government classification, birthed a conspiracy theory on 4chan that the U.S. government was run by a deep state cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles that could only be defeated by Donald Trump. The covert poster quickly moved to 8kun, where β€œQ drops,” cryptic messages obsessively decoded by devotees, became the modus operandi.

I know some people who are Jewish who seem to be really good people. But they continue to be Jewish because that is how they were raised. And all of their family members are Jewish. They can't get away from being Jewish unless they get away from their families and become not Jewish. They are so connected to it. It is a cult that they can only escape from if they cut ties with everything connected to Judaism including their families.

The Mormons and the Muslims have a similar strangle hold over the people who are connected to those religions. It is hard to leave a cult.

WASHINGTON (AP) β€” A far-right internet personality who streamed live video while he stormed the U.S. Capitol was sentenced on Tuesday to two months of imprisonment for joining the mob's attack on the building.

 

Anthime Gionet, known as β€œBaked Alaska” to his social media followers, declined to address the court before U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden sentenced him to 60 days behind bars followed by two years of probation. Gionet had faced a maximum of six months of imprisonment.

 

Gionet incriminated himself and other rioters with the video that he streamed to a live audience of roughly 16,000 followers. The 27-minute video showed him encouraging other rioters to stay in the Capitol.

 

β€œYou did everything you could to publicize your misconduct,” the judge told Gionet. β€œYou were there encouraging and participating fully in what was going on.”

 

Inside an office for Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley, Gionet filmed himself picking up a telephone and pretending to report β€œa fraudulent election,” parroting former President Donald Trump's baseless claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

 

β€œWe need to get our boy, Donald J. Trump, into office,” Gionet added.

 

Gionet joined others in chanting, β€œPatriots are in control!” and β€œWhose house? Our house!” Before leaving, he profanely called a Capitol police officer an β€œoathbreaker."

 

Gionet, 35, pleaded guilty in July to a misdemeanor count of parading, demonstrating or picketing inside a Capitol building.

 

Prosecutors recommended sentencing Gionet to 75 days of incarceration, three years’ probation and 60 hours of community service.

 

Gionet worked at BuzzFeed before he used social media videos to become an influential figure in far-right political circles. He was scheduled to speak at the white nationalist β€œUnite the Right” rally in 2017 before it erupted in violence on the streets of Charlottesville, Virginia.

We were cheated out of much of what was Trumps agenda for four years, during which time β€œthey” tried to prevent him from being elected, then inaugurated, and spent the rest of his term trying to remove him from office, and even impeached him AFTER his term, ALL on β€œTrumped-up” charges.

We were cheated out of effective people being appointed to key positions, due to approval processes, by people who HATE this country.

We were cheated out of several years of the β€œnormalcy” that we had become accustomed to, due to β€œCovid”, and all of the idiocy that came with it, some of which we are still experiencing.

We were cheated out of the 2020 and 2022 elections, with no help from the courts, the legislatures, or the executive branch, at the federal or state levels.

The military and law enforcement have failed to step up. It is arguable that they would stand against their own sworn oaths of office, if so ordered. They have become a sham.

And the exposure from the Twitter files shows direct involvement of the IC (Intelligence Community - ALL OF THEM) AGAINST We the People and the Constitution.

And now, β€œthey” are trying to prevent him from running again; the best we can expect is more of the same.

We will NOT be able to vote our way out of this mess; nor will we be able to pray our way out; though I caution against giving up either.

IMO, there is NO effective β€œConstitutional remedy”; nor is there a means for a β€œredress of grievances”.

We are at the point of the β€œlong train of abuses”, cited in the Declaration of Independence.

The Supreme Court denied a request by an Israeli spyware company claiming immunity from a lawsuit filed by Meta, which owns Facebook and WhatsApp, alleging the hacking company unlawfully installed spyware on WhatsApp in 2019.

β€œIn the coming months, among other serious problems (& there are many), we are going to learn the FISC has become a parallel Supreme Court but operates in almost total secrecy,” Flynn wrote.

 

Flynn referenced former Democratic Sen. Frank Church of Idaho, who in the 1970s sparked reforms of America’s intelligence agencies as chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Activities β€” better known as the β€œChurch Committee.” The committee uncovered revelations of the government spying on Americans, as noted by the Levin Center.

 

β€œIn 1975, Church stated, β€˜hiding evil is the trademark of a totalitarian government. There is no more pernicious threat to a free society than a secret police…operating beyond the law…if these abuses had not been uncovered and had the agencies gone unchecked, we might well have seen a secret police develop in the United States. Once that begins the Constitution itself is in very real danger,’” Flynn wrote.

 

Flynn wrote that Church and his work resonate in the contemporary United States.

For these events, Hobbs reportedly asked donors to give $250,000 to the Katie Hobbs Inaugural Fund without disclosing where the money was going. $250,000 bought a β€œplatinum sponsor” status with 25 seats at Thursday’s inauguration ceremony, signed programs, and a β€œspecial gift” with no limitation on how much donors can contribute.

 

According to StopKatieHobbs.com,

 

On December 10, five days before Hobbs declared victory in the gubernatorial race, Nicole DeMont β€” the Democrat’s campaign manager β€” quietly filed articles of incorporation for a 501(c)(4) nonprofit entity called β€œAn Arizona for Everyone.” (This phrase will be the theme of the inauguration, according to obtained documents.) On December 13, still two days before Hobbs declared victory, DeMont then filed articles of incorporation for another 501(c)(4) nonprofit entity called β€œKatie Hobbs Inaugural Fund,” which presumably speaks for itself.

 

The β€œknown place of business” listed on both entities’ corporate records is the address of Coppersmith Brockelman PLC, a politically-tied law firm that has represented Hobbs on election cases in her capacity as secretary of state. Roopali Desai, a former partner at the firm, was the judge who administered the Democrat’s oath of office on Monday.

 

The financial connection between these two dark-money groups and Hobbs’s inaugural events, such as her ceremonial ball, remains to be seen. But their identities may serve as helpful guidance for oversight activities by legislators β€” whom she already has antagonized β€” who want to determine whether any public funds have been transferred between the two groups and state government.

 

After further investigation into the claims that the law office, Coppersmith Brockelman PLC, is listed as the known place of business for these shady nonprofits, The Gateway Pundit can confirm that the listed addresses are the same as Coppersmith Brockelman. This firm represented Defendant Katie Hobbs in Kari Lake’s ongoing lawsuit to overturn the 2022 midterm.

 

Judge Roopali Desai also worked for the Coppersmith Brockelman since 2007, became a partner, and was named β€œLawyer of the Year” by the firm shortly after she was nominated to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals by Joe Biden on June 15, 2022, and confirmed on August 4, 2022.

 

Judge Desai swore Katie Hobbs into office on Monday, and she served as a member of Secretary of State-elect Katie Hobbs’ transition team in 2018. She also reportedly defended Arizona election officials against lawsuits after the 2020 election and represented Katie Hobbs in an election lawsuit by the Arizona GOP.

Coinbase Fires 20% Of Workforce; CEO Warns Of "Dark Times" In Crypto

 

Coinbase is reducing its workforce again amid a collapse in its stock price, turmoil in crypto land, and broader macroeconomic headwinds.

 

The cryptocurrency exchange will cut approximately 20% of its workforce, or about 950 jobs, in a second round of layoffs in less than one year. Coinbase had 4,700 employees at the end of September and had already slashed its headcount by 18% in June last year.

 

"Therefore, I've made the difficult decision to reduce our operating expense(1) by about 25% Q/Q, which includes letting go of about 950 people(2). All impacted team members will be informed by today," CEO Brian Armstrong wrote in a letter to employees.

 

Armstrong explained the company will be "shutting down several projects where we have a lower probability of success." He said those teams have already had their access to internal systems stripped and will be contacted by the company today.

 

Affected team members will receive an email to their personal account in the next hour with more information, and an invitation to meet with an HRBP and senior leader. Coinbase system access has already been removed. I realize this last step feels sudden and harsh, but I believe it's the only prudent choice given our responsibility to protect customer information.

 

He added that the firings weren't due to job performance but based on economic turmoil in the broader economy and the crypto space.

Microsoft Reportedly Investing $10 Billion In Musk Co-Founded ChatGPT Creator

As part of the current deal Microsoft is negotiating, it's proposing to get 75% of OpenAI's profits until it gets it recovers its investment, after which Microsoft's aims to get 49% stake in the company, per the media outlet.

 

Other investors are expected to own another 49% of the company, while OpenAI's nonprofit parent would hold the remaining stake, per Semafor.

 

The Wall Street Journal reported last Thursday that OpenAI was in talks to sell existing shares of the company in a tender offer that would value the firm at $29 billion (the company is currently valued around $20 billion).

 

Venture capital firms including Thrive Capital and Founders Funds were in talks to invest at least $300 million in the share sales, according to the Journal.

Green has found the job to be easier over time. "Writing scripts and picking up lethal drugs and driving across town" isn't a shocking ordeal to her anymore, she says, remarking that "it’s oddly okay for [her] to be doing that."

 

Green formerly worked as an obstetrician and compares delivering babies to euthanasia in her book "This Is Assisted Dying," seeing similarities between the two "deliveries."

Green also assured her interviewer that the MAID procedure "is 100% effective."

NY judge accused of racist, anti-gay comments agrees to resign amid misconduct charges

 

On Friday, a New York judge accused of making a slew of racist and anti-gay comments to and about co-workers agreed to step down from her position effective March 1 and never to accept judicial office in the future, the New York Post reported.

 

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct announced on Monday that Kings County Surrogate’s Court Judge Harriet Thompson agreed to resign amid misconduct allegations, which she has denied.

 

Thompson, who has been a Surrogate's Court judge since 2019, was charged by the CJC in May 2022 for allegedly making β€œinappropriate comments to and about employees and judges of the Unified Court System.”

 

The written complaint made against Thompson also alleged that she β€œdisplayed bias against various individuals and ethnicities; failed to administer Surrogate Court matters in a timely manner, leading to substantial delays; and, as a candidate for Surrogate in 2018, failed to complete mandatory campaign ethics education in a timely manner.”

 

Thompson was accused of making several vile remarks to and about co-workers. The inspector general β€œsubstantiated” claims that Thompson had referred to four other judges as β€œgay racist f*ts” who were β€œall fing each other.”

 

β€œI hate these gay white men … being gay is an abomination to mankind,” Thompson allegedly said.

 

According to the state’s Office of Court Administration, Thompson was accused of stating, β€œI do not like Hispanic people. They have a deceitful trait that goes way back to biblical times.”

 

At the time of the allegation, Thompson’s attorney told the Post, β€œThe judge denies all of the allegations that are asserted against her.”

 

The judge was scheduled for a formal hearing later this month but provided a physician’s note in November claiming that she was β€œnot medically fit to stand trial at this time” due to a medical disability that would require her to have additional procedures. According to the New York Post, Thompson sustained a shoulder injury.

 

As a result of her claim, the commission filed another complaint against Thompson, accusing her of being medically unfit for office on account of her injury.

 

Andrew Fisher, Thompson’s lawyer, told the Post, β€œBecause of the pain she endures she takes some medication which would interfere with her ability to participate in the defense against the charges that have been made.”

 

In response, Thompson has agreed to resign and drop the lawsuit she filed against the OCA, accusing the administration of wrongful suspension.

 

β€œHad Judge Thompson not developed some disabling illness, she would have vigorously defended herself, but found that it was an impossible thing to do at this point,” Fisher said. β€œIt should be noted that there are no findings of wrongdoing that have been entered against her.”

 

β€œShe leaves, hopefully, with her reputation intact,” Fisher added.

 

Commission Administrator Robert H. Tembeckjian stated, β€œThe conduct charged against Judge Thompson was egregious and, if established at trial, would have warranted her removal from office. She now claims a medical condition prevents her from performing judicial duties, which opens a different path in furtherance of the public interest for her immediate and permanent departure from the bench.”

 

Thompson's retirement begins March 1, and she will be allowed to keep her judicial pension.

There were arguments in the UPenn administration about where the Chinese-oriented money and other foreign money was going. Some insiders questioned how funds for international students were being managed without transparency, and the arguments led to a staff overhaul. The controversy stemmed from funds set aside for international students.

From the Twitter Files: Pfizer board member Scott Gottlieb secretly pressed Twitter to hide posts challenging his company's massively profitable Covid jabs

To funnel his demands, Gottlieb used the same Twitter lobbyist the White House did - fresh evidence of overlap between the company selling mRNA shots and the government forcing them on the public.

 

On August 27, 2021, Dr. Scott Gottlieb - a Pfizer director with over 550,000 Twitter followers - saw a tweet he didn’t like, a tweet that might hurt sales of Pfizer’s mRNA vaccines.

 

The tweet explained correctly that natural immunity after Covid infection was superior to vaccine protection. It called on the White House to β€œfollow the science” and exempt people with natural immunity from upcoming vaccine mandates.

 

It came not from an β€œanti-vaxxer” like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but from Dr. Brett Giroir, a physician who had briefly followed Gottlieb as the head of the Food & Drug Administration. Further, the tweet actually encouraged people who did not have natural immunity to β€œGet vaccinated!”

 

No matter.

By suggesting some people might not need Covid vaccinations, the tweet could raise questions about the shots. Besides being former FDA commissioner, a CNBC contributor, and a prominent voice on Covid public policy, Gottlieb was a senior board member at Pfizer, which depended on mRNA jabs for almost half its $81 billion in sales in 2021. Pfizer paid Gottlieb $365,000 for his work that year.

 

Gottlieb stepped in, emailing Todd O’Boyle, a top lobbyist in Twitter’s Washington office who was also Twitter’s point of contact with the White House.

The post was β€œcorrosive,” Gottlieb wrote. He worried it would β€œend up going viral and driving news coverage.”

I found the email in a search of records I ran at Twitter last week - part of Elon Musk’s β€œTwitter Files” effort to raise the veil on censorship decisions Twitter made before Musk bought the company in October.

Through Jira, an internal system Twitter used for managing complaints, O’Boyle forwarded Gottlieb’s email to the Twitter β€œStrategic Response” team. That group was responsible for handling concerns from the company’s most important employees and users.

β€œPlease see this report from the former FDA commissioner,” O’Boyle wrote - failing to mention that Gottlieb was a Pfizer board member with a financial interest in pushing mRNA shots.

 

A Strategic Response analyst quickly found the tweet did not violate any of the company’s misinformation rules.

 

Yet Twitter wound up flagging Giroir’s tweet anyway, putting a misleading tag on it and preventing almost anyone from seeing it. It remains tagged even though several large studieshave confirmed the truth of Giroir’s words.

A week later, on Sept. 3, 2021, Gottlieb tried to strike again, complaining to O’Boyle about a tweet from Justin Hart. Hart is a lockdown and Covid vaccine skeptic with more than 100,000 Twitter followers.

Why Gottlieb objected to Hart’s words is not clear, but the Pfizer shot would soon be approved for children 5 to 11, representing another massive market for Pfizer, if parents could be convinced Covid was a real threat to their kids.

 

O’Boyle referred to β€œformer FDA Commissioner Gottlieb” when he forwarded the report, again ignoring Gottlieb’s current work for Pfizer.

This time, though, Gottlieb’s complaint was so far afield that Twitter refused to act.

At the same time, Gottlieb was also pressing Twitter to act against me, as I disclosed on Substack on Oct. 13, 2022, drawing on documents that Twitter’s pre-Musk regime provided to me as part of my lawsuit against it. (Gottlieb’s action was part of a larger conspiracy that included the Biden White House and Andrew Slavitt, working publicly and privately to pressure Twitter until it had no choice but to ban me. I will have more to say about my own case and will be suing the White House, Slavitt, Gottlieb, and Pfizer shortly.)

 

The morning after I wrote that article, Gottlieb appeared on CNBC, the financial news channel where he is a contributor, and offered what at best was a seriously misleading explanation of his actions and his motives.

 

Gottlieb did not deny pressing Twitter on me - he could not, given the documents I had released the night before.

 

But in an interview with Joe Kernan of CNBC, Gottlieb said he had asked Twitter to act only because he was concerned if tweets raised the threat of violence against vaccine advocates.

 

β€œThe inability of these platforms to police direct threats, physical threats about people, that’s my concern about what’s going on in that ecosystem,” Gottlieb said.

But Brett Giroir’s tweet about natural immunity was the definition of β€œrespectful debate and dialogue.” And in his own email to Todd O’Boyle, Gottlieb did not raise any security concerns about it. He simply complained that it might wind up β€œdriving news coverage.

Gottlieb is not just a Pfizer board member.

He is one of seven members of the board’s executive committee and the head of its regulatory and compliance committee, which oversees β€œcompliance with laws, regulations, and internal procedures applicable to pharmaceutical sales and marketing activities.”

 

Pfizer has a long history of violating drug industry laws and ethics rules. In 2009, it agreed to pay $2.3 billion, the largest health care fraud settlement in American history, for fraudulently marketing several drugs. In 1996, it conducted a clinical trial of an antibiotic in Nigeria in which 11 children died and which became the inspiration for John le Carre’s novel The Constant Gardner.

 

So how will Pfizer react to the black-and-white proof from Twitter’s records that one of its most powerful board members secretly tried to suppress debate on the mRNA jabs that have has been by far its best-selling product since 2020?

The comet, dubbed C/2022 E3 (ZTF), was first sighted in March 2022, according to NASA. It likely traveled hundreds of billions of miles to reach the inner solar system.

 

C/2022 E3 (ZTF) will be closest to the sun on Jan. 12 and will pass Earth at a distance of 26.4 million miles on Feb. 2, NASA said.

The Swiss town of Davos will host 52 heads of state and government and nearly 600 CEOs as the World Economic Forum hosts its annual meeting in the Alps next week, organizers said Tuesday.

 

Forum organizers said their latest lineup for the elite gathering of political leaders, business executives, cultural trend-setters and international organization chiefs will tackle issues facing a divided world as 2023 begins, with war and conflict, economic pressures and climate change in focus.

 

β€œThere is no doubt that our 53rd annual meeting in Davos will happen against the most complex geopolitical and economic backdrop in decades,” said forum President Borge Brende, pointing to challenges like the threat of global recession, soaring energy and food prices, and the need to better address global warming.

 

Russia’s nearly yearlong war in Ukraine and COVID-19 restrictions and now a wave of infections in China have helped weaken the global economy.

 

Brende pointed to β€œrecord participation” of 52 heads of state and government, more than half of them from Europe, as well as some recently elected leaders including President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea, President Gustavo Petro of Colombia and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines. Minnesota’s teaching licensure board will soon require all teachers to be card-carrying Marxists. The card will literally say β€œlicensed teacher,” but recently approved revisions redefine state licensure in expressly Marxist terms: Academic knowledge is out, and power struggle among the classes is in. To be licensed in Minnesota starting in 2025, every teacher must not merely teach about, but personally advocate, the core tenets of critical race theory and transgender ideology.

 

The state’s insistence that every teacher positively affirm homosexual behaviors and transgendered identities understandably aggravates consciences among moral traditionalists, but the issues run deeper than the β€œculture war.” What is at stake is the nature of knowledge, the future of liberty, and the prospects for a sustainable social order. A perfunctory hearing on Aug. 24, 2022, and the resulting order for implementation with slight revisions by a solitary administrative judge in December cemented the new regime. The revised Standards of Effective Practice require radical changes to teachers’ curriculum selection, classroom management style, and self-understanding of the teaching vocation. The education departments at colleges and universities also must document their fulfillment of the new standards or else have their program certifications rescinded by Minnesota’s Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB).

 

The new requirements require teachers to positively affirm extremist leftist positions about human nature and sexual practices in order to be allowed to teach in government schools.

 

Teachers will be required to choose β€œanti-racist” β€” i.e. critical race theory β€” instructional strategies for students. An administrative judge told the state to amend No. 4 here requiring teachers to expose children to sexual identities. It will likely still go into effect, with slightly different language.

 

The new license requires teachers to affirm transgenderism.

 

The revisions represent only the latest attack against American heritage in Minnesota’s public schools. In 2013, the state education department successfully removed the four presidents featured on Mount Rushmore from social studies standards.

 

Susan B. Anthony, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan also got the ax that year, as did the Magna Carta. References to the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were relativized, as students were to be instructed that those documents do not contain universal principles of ordered liberty, but merely the opinion of one powerful group of 18th-century men.

The Swiss army will deploy 5,000 troops ahead of the World Economic Forum’s next meeting in Davos. Authorities indicated the troops were authorized to utilize coercive police measures to fulfill their security mission.

Texas Republican files articles of impeachment against Mayorkas

 

A Texas Republican has filed articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, wasting little time into the new Congress to act on a GOP priority leadership has said would come after thorough investigation.

 

Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas) filed the paperwork for the resolution Jan. 3, the first day of the 118th Congress, though with delays in securing a House Speaker, the document was officially filed late Monday.

 

The resolution claims Mayorkas β€œengaged in a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with his duties,” complaining that he has failed to maintain operational control over the border.

 

The resolution comes amid a busy week in the Biden administration. President Biden visited the border over the weekend for the first time since taking office, pledging to deliver more resources to the officers that patrol the region.

 

And Mayorkas is in Mexico this week, meeting with officials there on a variety of issues, including the shared migration agreement rolled out by the Biden administration last week.

 

Mayorkas is also due to discuss coordination on trans-national crime with Mexican authorities. His office did not immediately respond to request for comment.

 

Fallon’s resolution won’t move without further action from GOP leadership, but it would otherwise jump start a process House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has treaded carefully on.

 

β€œHouse Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure will determine whether we can begin impeachment inquiry,” McCarthy said at a press conference in El Paso, Texas, in November.

 

Still, impeachment charges against Mayorkas were all but certain under Republican control of the House, as the DHS secretary has been a constant foil for the GOP during the Biden administration.

 

Republicans claim that under Biden, DHS has dismantled the border security apparatus built under former President Trump, leading to border chaos.

 

Most border and immigration analysts agree that increased migration due to security, economic and governance conditions in the Western Hemisphere is the primary reason for the high number of migrants encountered at the border.

 

And Mayorkas has taken flak both from the right and the left, as DHS has maintained many of the Trump administration’s border policies, which immigrant advocates say violate human rights.

 

Still, Republicans see the border as a winning issue for them, and Mayorkas is the Biden administration’s face on that issue.

 

Mayorkas, the first Latino to ever hold that post, has often butted heads with congressional Republicans at oversight hearings.

 

In April, Mayorkas clashed with Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, including a notable exchange with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) over his agency’s record on deportations from the interior of the country.

 

That combative exchange could set the tone for impeachment proceedings.

 

The potential for a political circus is concerning for Republicans fresh off a nationally-televised Speaker’s race that highlighted divisions in the party.

New Zealand is attempting to pass a Bill that will restrict and prohibit the use of natural health products

 

The New Zealand (β€œNZ”) Labour Party have introduced a Therapeutic Products Bill. The public only has until 15 February to make submissions. More than 50% of the NZ public uses Natural Products. The structure of the Bill is very concerning. It establishes a regulator who will be empowered to take decisions and control availability, it does not adequately specify what factors should influence his decisions. In other words, it is an enabling bill of the type favoured by repressive regimes.

 

We don’t see any evidence that the public is being disadvantaged under current regulations, Dr. Guy Hatchard said, nor is there any evidence they are being harmed by Natural Products. This is an area where the government has no need to tighten regulations.

 

The Bill will place additional financial burdens on manufacturers and end users and it will introduce uncertainty about products that have been sold and relied upon by millions of New Zealanders. In our opinion, it is an underhand move to structure the Bill as regulation without specifying content. This is designed to disperse and deflect public interest, especially as the public consultation period spans the summer break.

 

It is of note that the very long list of common herbals planned to be banned under the 2016 bill drawn up by Medsafe with the help of the International Coalition of Medicines Regulatory Authorities (β€œICMRA”) is still in existence. Some of these are even used regularly and traditionally in cooking. Under the Bill, there is nothing to stop the new regulator from simply adopting this list as soon as appointed. This list would disrupt the availability of traditional remedies.

 

ICMRA was born out of the 65th World Health Assembly conference in 2012 under the excuse of a need β€œto address current and emerging human medicine regulatory and safety challenges globally, strategically and in an ongoing, transparent, authoritative and institutional manner.” Its members include medicine and drug regulatory bodies from 22 countries and the European Union. Additionally, another 15 countries are counted as associate members. The World Health Organisation is noted as an β€œobserver.” And so, this is not only a problem New Zealanders face. What is happening in New Zealand in respect of prohibiting and controlling Natural Products will be rolled out to the detriment of populations in a large portion of the world.

An important part of the bill aims to regulate the natural health products used by more than 50% of our population. This is the third attempt of the Labour Party to introduce extreme regulation of the public’s options to choose their medical care, supplements, and diet. At least 17 dead in deadliest day of anti-government protests in Peru

 

At least 17 people were killed in clashes with police in southern Peru, the country’s human rights office said on Monday, the deadliest day so far of protests demanding early elections and the release of jailed former president Pedro Castillo.

 

The clashes occurred in Juliaca, a city near the banks of Lake Titicaca in southern Peru’s Puno region, and left 68 people injured, Henry Rebaza, a Puno health ministry official, told the state-run television channel TV Peru. The dead included at least two teenagers, according to the ministry.

 

Some of the bodies had bullet wounds, Puno’s regional health director, Ismael Cornejo, told local radio station RPP.

 

The latest casualties raise the death toll from anti-government clashes with security forces to 39 since the protests began in early December following the removal and arrest of Castillo shortly after he tried to illegally dissolve Congress.

 

Castillo is serving 18 months of pre-trial detention on charges of rebellion, which he denies.

 

Rebaza also told Peru TV that 28 injured police officers are unable to be evacuated from Juliaca’s airport. Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola said thousands of protesters had tried to invade the airport along with a police station.

Please, if any anons out there are listening, I'm really struggling with an epilepsy diagnosis. I've had some luck taking probiotics and modifying my diet, making sure I get enough sleep, no caffine no alcohol, but pray for me please. Stomach flu going around work has knocked me down again and made it worse, and I'm scared that I'm going to have to start taking Keppra, or another antiepileptic drug, and they have serious and dangerous side effects. Thanks anon. I’ve tried keto but I don’t think I was doing it correctly. It helped a little I suppose. I’ve read a lot about probiotics and how a fecal microbiota transplant cured a case of epilepsy. I’m taking vitamin D, probiotics (kefir), just started taking magnesium citrate, and I try to eat fats and meat, but I still get little blips. I’m scared and just want to feel normal again. Citing "a source familiar with the matter," US media reported on Tuesday that classified documents pertaining to Iran, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom and dating to US President Joe Biden's time as vice president had been found in a private residence of his last fall.

According to the report, a total of 10 documents with Classified markings and dated between 2013 and 2016 were found in Biden's private academic office on November 2, 2022. The files were in a box that included personal documents, including some related to the funeral of Biden's son, Beau Biden, a former US Army soldier who died in 2015 from brain cancer. The office was associated with Joe Biden's time as a University of Pennsylvania professor.

Biden, who became US President in January 2021, had previously served as US Vice President between 2008 and 2016, under then-US President Barack Obama.

According to media reports, Attorney General Merrick Garland has already assigned a US attorney from Chicago who was appointed by former US President Donald Trump to oversee the matter - a move Garland made after receiving an inquiry from the US National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The documents have reportedly already been surrendered to the agency.

The report comes amid a lengthy struggle between Trump and the federal government over hundreds of classified files found unsecured at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Think Tankers are Flooding Into the Biden Administration

The revolving door is spinning fast as the Biden Administration continues to hire think tankers from a wide swath of largely center-left Washington think tanks.

 

Six think tank presidents have already been tapped by the Biden Administration (Heather Boushey, Bill Burns, Thea Lee, Neera Tanden, and K. Sabeel Rahman are already in place, while Karen Donfried is awaiting confirmation), and a number of think tankers have been named to various senior positions, including:

 

Antony Blinken, who was a director at the University of Pennsylvania's Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Public Engagement, is the new Secretary of State.

Former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen, a Distinguished Fellow in Residence for Economic Studies at the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy at the Brookings Institution, has been tapped to be Biden's Treasury Secretary.

Ron Klain, who served on the board of the Center for American Progress's (CAP) political action arm, is Biden's chief of staff.

Jake Sullivan, a former Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, was named as Biden's National Security Advisor.

John Kerry, a Visiting Distinguished Statesman at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, was named as as the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.

Jen Psaki, former Vice President for Communications and Strategy at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, was named as White House Press Secretary.

Denis McDonough, who was a nonresident scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, serves as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. He was also a Senior Fellow at CAP from 2004-2006.

Amanda Sloat of Brookings named as NSC Senior Director for European Affairs.

CSIS's Kathleen Hicks named as Deputy Defense Secretary.

Susan Rice, a former Brookings Institution fellow and former members of CNAS's Board of Advisors, is the Director of the Domestic Policy Council (DPC).

Colin Kahl,who was formerly a Senior Fellow at CNAS and a Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) International Affairs Fellow, has been named as Undersecretary of Defense for Policy. He was also a strategic adviser at the Penn Biden Center.p

Disgraced former FBI officials who failed to find Trump campaign collusion with Russia have begun smearing Kash Patel β€” the House Intelligence Committee investigator who exposed Russiagate as a hoax β€” suggesting that he will be ensnared in the FBI’s investigation of documents seized from Mar-a-Lago and threatening that he should be quiet and get a lawyer.

 

Andrew Weissman, the lead prosecutor for former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s failed effort to find and charge then-President Donald Trump with Russian collusion, recently suggested in an interview on MSNBC that Patel was β€œclearly in the crosshairs,” since the Department of Justice chose not to redact his name before releasing the FBI affidavit used to raid Mar-a-Lago. Without explaining why, Weissman asserted, β€œKash Patel…needs to really be getting a lawyer.”

Peter Strzok, the former deputy assistant director of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division who led the investigation into the Trump campaign in 2016, recently suggested Patel was in trouble. β€œNever great to see your unredacted name in a search warrant affidavit. To borrow from Eric Hirschmann, β€˜I’m going to give you the best free legal advice you’re ever getting in your life. Get a great F’ing criminal defense lawyer β€” you’re going to need it,” he tweeted.

 

David Ignatius, Washington Post columnist β€” who first reported on the leaked classified contents of a call between then-former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn with a Russian diplomat β€” recently penned a hit piece on Patel, where he also suggested that Patel would be in trouble. β€œI fear that a sequel is coming, where Kash and King Donald’s other knights will joust with what they claim are government gangsters β€” and this won’t be a children’s book,” Ignatius warned ominously.

 

And recently on CNN, former federal prosecutor Jennifer Rodgers claimed Patel is β€œimplicated” in some wrongdoing. In an apparent effort to get him to stop contradicting the establishment media narrative on the raid at Mar-a-Lago, she warned, β€œIf I were him, I would stay quiet.”

 

Patel, in an interview with Breitbart News on Saturday, responded to Weissman and Strzok’s warnings and threats, saying:

Now they have been reduced to uttering asinine threats against me on cable TV and social media. The recently released FBI affidavit cited a May 5, 2022, Breitbart News article of an interview with Patel where he named a February 18, 2022, NBC News report that said the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) found items marked β€œclassified” among 15 boxes of White House records retrieved from Mar-a-Lago in January 2022. Patel told Breitbart News that the report was β€œmisleading” since Trump had already declassified sets of documents, but that the classification markings had not been updated.

 

Patel said on Saturday he had no idea what documents were at Mar-a-Lago when the FBI raided. However, he said what he does know is that declassified Russiagate documents were among those handed over to NARA back in January 2022, and that those have been given to the DOJ with no word on when they might be given back.

 

Patel said those Russiagate documents have never been publicly released. After NARA took possession of them in January, they were given to the DOJ to be viewed for any personal identifiable information (PII) and were supposed to be given back to NARA, but have not yet been returned.

 

β€œRemember, Devin [Nunes] and I have always said we got out about 60% of the Russiagate stuff we wanted to get out. The rest was in that binder,” he said.

 

Patel said even though Trump had designated him as his representative to NARA on June 19, 2022, in order to facilitate the release of already declassified Russiagate documents, Patel has not had the opportunity to review any documents NARA possesses from before or after the raid, since NARA has claimed they could not verify his security clearance.

 

β€œThey’re playing bureaucratic gymnastics where their position is, β€˜We can’t verify your security clearance,’ even though I know I have active security clearance that’s been verified by multiple government agencies,” he said. β€œAfter asking for an update on the binder of documents and other material, NARA has said, β€˜Oh, we sent it to DOJ. We don’t know what’s here anymore.’ You know, it’s the total run around.”

 

Patel said it is no coincidence that the people who are threatening him and are in charge of the current FBI investigation into the documents are the same people embroiled in the Russiagate scandal, which means they have the most to lose if the documents are released.

 

β€œThe same Russiagate people who started that investigation are now running DOJ and are the same FBI guys at counterintelligence running this investigation. They all know the information we discovered β€” Devin and I β€” during Russiagate. And they all know what didn’t get out as a result of that big binder of stuff not ever being released by Trump,” he said.

 

β€œSome of the same counterintelligence guys that John Durham is looking at who worked for Strzok and Priestap are working on the Hunter Biden laptop case, and this case and others β€” it’s the same crew,” he said.

 

β€œThe same people that were supposed to have committed Russiagate are now back in charge, and they know that if they go in and raid Trump’s house and say we have an ongoing counterintelligence investigation, that the documents will never be released,” he said. β€œThey’re afraid of more of their corruption being exposed, more of their unlawful conduct. What happens when the rest comes out?”

 

He said Weissman and Strzok in particular know what those Russiagate documents say. β€œNow coincidentally, these guys are the ones screaming that I need to get a lawyer,” he said.

 

Patel, a former federal prosecutor, was the lead investigator for the House Intelligence Committee’s probe into the origins of Russiagate and authored a memo that not only exposed DOJ and FBI malfeasance, but led to the firing of several involved, including Strzok.

The probe and subsequent memo exposed that the DOJ and FBI knew Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid for the creation of the so-called β€œSteele Dossier” β€” which was based on foreign disinformation and alleged that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia β€” but still used the β€œDossier” to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on Trump’s campaign.

Patel said he believed the DOJ purposely left his name unredacted in the affidavit in retaliation.

We got 14 other people at the FBI and DOJ including Bruce Ohr fired or retired early, and Lisa Page. Now their bosses are back in charge and these people know the documents we found. Same with Weissman because when he was Mueller’s guy, they had access to all of those documents… . So it’s not a coincidence that these same people are now banding together to attack the one guy that exposed their corruption,” he said.

 

Patel said the decision to not redact his name comes immediately after the FBI has been investigating death threats against him for the past 10 months. β€œThey have the emails. They’re nasty. They’re disgusting,” Patel said. However, he said on the same day the FBI decided to end its investigation on the death threats, the DOJ released the affidavit with his name on it.

 

β€œThey decided to end the investigation regarding my death threats, and so it continues. Hatred and racist threats keep coming in,” he said.

 

β€œIt’s intentional. They could have just redacted it… . In fact, DOJ/FBI guidelines demand that redaction, especially since everything below my name is redacted. It was done with one purpose: to threaten me and [Breitbart] indirectly for writing that article,” he said. β€œNow the deep state has come full circle, and America is seeing their corruption once more, without any care for my safety.”

Objective: To review the clinical usefulness of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) as treatment or adjunctive therapy in a number of medical conditions. Use in Tylenol overdose, cystic fibrosis, and chronic obstructive lung disease has been well documented, but there is emerging evidence many other conditions would benefit from this safe, simple, and inexpensive intervention. Quality of Evidence. PubMed, several books, and conference proceedings were searched for articles on NAC and health conditions listed above reviewing supportive evidence. This study uses a traditional integrated review format, and clinically relevant information is assessed using the American Family Physician Evidence-Based Medicine Toolkit. A table summarizing the potential mechanisms of action for N-acetylcysteine in these conditions is presented. Main Message. N-acetylcysteine may beuseful as an adjuvant in treating various medical conditions, especially chronic diseases. These conditions include polycystic ovary disease, male infertility, sleep apnea, acquired immune deficiency syndrome, influenza, parkinsonism, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, stroke outcomes, diabetic neuropathy, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, schizophrenia, bipolar illness, and obsessive compulsive disorder; it can also be useful as a chelator for heavy metals and nanoparticles. There are also a number of other conditions that may show benefit; however, the evidence is not as robust.

 

Conclusion: The use of N-acetylcysteine should be considered in a number of conditions as our population ages and levels of glutathione drop. Supplementation may contribute to reducing morbidity and mortality in some chronic conditions as outlined in the article.

Detailed Description:

One third of patients with idiopathic autism have treatment resistant epilepsy, associated with earlier onset of seizures. In addition to insufficient response to medical treatment, they also have poorer responses to surgical and VNS approaches (Sansa et al 2011). Novel approaches to reduce seizure burden and improve quality of life for the children and their caregivers are needed.

There is a plethora of basic research documenting elevated oxidative stress in animal models of seizures. Several animal models have decreased oxidative stress through using compounds with antioxidant effects, but suprisingly, few human studies have been done to date.

This small open-label pilot study will examine the use of N-acetyl cysteine, an inexpensive but readily available over-the-counter nutritional supplement, to reduce seizure frequency in 10 youth with autism who have not responded completely to conventional anticonvulsant therapy

How Biden-Aligned Think Tankers Got Rich

The Prospect recently wrote about how Joe Biden's foreign policy team got rich, and it just so happens that most of the people mentioned in the piece are current or former think tankers.

 

Here are some excerpts:

 

They had been public servants their whole careers. But when Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election, two departing Obama officials were anxious for work. Trump’s win had caught them by surprise.

 

Sergio Aguirre and Nitin Chadda had reached the most elite quarters of U.S. foreign policy. Aguirre had started out of school as a fellow in the White House and a decade later had become chief of staff to U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power. Chadda, who joined the Pentagon out of college as a speechwriter, had become a key adviser to Secretary of Defense Ash Carter in even less time. Now, Chadda had a long-shot idea.

 

They turned to an industry of power-brokering little known outside the capital: strategic consultancies. MichΓ¨le Flournoy had served as undersecretary of defense for policy from 2009 to 2012. Both Aguirre and Chadda had known her well in the Obama administration. Since leaving office, she’d spent several years in consulting and was hitting her stride. With Flournoy as senior adviser, Boston Consulting Group’s defense contracts grew from $1.6 million in 2013 to $32 million in 2016. Before she joined, according to public records, BCG had not signed any contracts with the Defense Department.

 

Flournoy, while consulting, joining corporate boards, and serving as a senior fellow at Harvard’s Belfer Center, had also become CEO of the Center for a New American Security in 2014. The think tank had $48 million on hand, and defense contractors donated at least $3.8 million while she was CEO. By 2017, she was making $452,000 a year.

 

Others mentioned in the piece include Tony Blinken (former senior fellow at CSIS), Nicholas Burns (former visiting scholar at Wilson Center and on board of directors of Atlantic Council and CFR), Kurt Campbell (co-founder of CNAS and former scholar at CSIS), Tom Donilon (distinguished fellow at CFR), Wendy Sherman (on board of Atlantic Council), Julianne Smith (adjunct senior fellow at CNAS and formerly at CSIS and German Marshall Fund), Jake Sullivan (nonresident senior fellow at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace), Robert Work (former CEO of CNAS), Dan Shapiro (visiting fellow at Institute for National Security Studies), and Avril Haines (nonresident senior fellow at Brookings and on CNAS board of directors).

 

The article notes that Flournoy went on to form WestExec Advisors with Tony Blinken, and they partnered with Jigsaw, which is Google's in-house think tank.

 

Here is an Al-Monitor piece on some of Biden's foreign policy advisors. Besides the above-mentioned Tony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Julianne Smith, and Nicholas Burns, others advising Biden include Colin Kahl (former fellow at CFR and CNAS), Brian McKeon (on leave as Senior Director at Penn Biden Center), Jeffrety Prescott (Senior Fellow at Penn Biden Center), Ely Ratner (CNAS), and Elizabeth Rosenberg (CNAS).

 

It notes that many of Biden's foreign policy advisers come from four entities: Foreign Policy for America, National Security Action, Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, and WestExec Advisers.
