We were cheated out of much of what was Trumps agenda for four years, during which time “they” tried to prevent him from being elected, then inaugurated, and spent the rest of his term trying to remove him from office, and even impeached him AFTER his term, ALL on “Trumped-up” charges.

We were cheated out of effective people being appointed to key positions, due to approval processes, by people who HATE this country.

We were cheated out of several years of the “normalcy” that we had become accustomed to, due to “Covid”, and all of the idiocy that came with it, some of which we are still experiencing.

We were cheated out of the 2020 and 2022 elections, with no help from the courts, the legislatures, or the executive branch, at the federal or state levels.

The military and law enforcement have failed to step up. It is arguable that they would stand against their own sworn oaths of office, if so ordered. They have become a sham.

And the exposure from the Twitter files shows direct involvement of the IC (Intelligence Community - ALL OF THEM) AGAINST We the People and the Constitution.

And now, “they” are trying to prevent him from running again; the best we can expect is more of the same.

We will NOT be able to vote our way out of this mess; nor will we be able to pray our way out; though I caution against giving up either.

IMO, there is NO effective “Constitutional remedy”; nor is there a means for a “redress of grievances”.

We are at the point of the “long train of abuses”, cited in the Declaration of Independence.

Britain and Japan to sign defense pact

 

UK and Japanese troops will be deployed on each other’s territory, as Tokyo deepens its alignment with NATO powers

 

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his Japanese counterpart, Fumio Kishida, will sign a major defense agreement on Wednesday, Sunak’s office has announced. With Britain and its NATO allies focused on opposing both Russia and China, Japan is deepening its cooperation with the Western military machine.

 

The ‘Reciprocal Access Agreement’ will allow both countries to deploy troops on each other’s soil, and to hold “larger and more complex” joint military exercises, according to a statement from Downing Street.

 

While Japan already hosts around 50,000 US troops, Wednesday’s signing will make the UK the first European nation to have a reciprocal access deal with Japan. Australia has had such an agreement with Japan since 2007, although this pact became non-binding when it was renewed in October.

 

The signing comes a month after Japan, the UK, and Italy announced that they would team up to develop a sixth-generation fighter jet, merging separate national jet programs.

 

These developments mark a significant step by Japan away from its post-WWII constitution, which commits the country to a pacifist foreign policy and mandates that its military be a strictly defensive and peacekeeping force.

 

However, Japan joined the renewed Quadrilateral Security Dialogue – a loose military alliance with the US, India, and Australia explicitly aimed at countering China in the “Indo-Pacific” region – in 2017, and in December announced a doubling of its military budget, citing missile “missile threats” from China and North Korea.

 

Tokyo also joined the West in sanctioning Russia over the conflict in Ukraine, and plans on stationing supersonic missiles near Russia’s northeastern islands. Moscow considers this plan to pose “a serious challenge” to its security.

 

Sunak and Kishida are set to discuss both Ukraine and China on Wednesday, with the British prime minister’s office stating that they would talk about “the need to maintain our collective support” for Kiev and strengthen its military.

A U.S. president has broad powers to issue pardons to individuals involved in criminal investigations. But are those powers unlimited? No, there are some limitations such as for offenses on a state level. And, it is unsettled whether a president can pardon him- or herself.

 

A U.S. president has broad but not unlimited powers to pardon. For example, a president cannot pardon someone for a state crime. And constitutional experts are divided on whether a president can pardon him- or herself.

 

The U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 reads: “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment (emphasis added).”

 

There is a strong consensus among legal experts that a president cannot pardon someone for a state offense, as the Constitution notes “offenses against the United States.” In other words, state law enforcement authorities could review any criminal allegations, without presidential intervention, to determine if they rise to the level of a state offense.

 

The legal record is also clear that a president can pardon for a presumptive crime, like what then-President Gerald Ford did with his predecessor Richard Nixon on Sept. 8, 1974. In the aftermath of Watergate, Ford gave Nixon, who resigned from the presidency a month earlier, an “absolute pardon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from Jan. 20, 1969 through Aug. 9, 1974.”

 

The U.S. Supreme Court affirmed the presidential power to pardon in ex parte Garland, an 1866 case involving a former Confederate senator who had been pardoned by President Andrew Johnson. In that case, the high court made clear that the pardon power “extends to every offense known to the law, and may be exercised at any time after its commission, either before legal proceedings are taken or during their pendency, or after conviction and judgment.”

 

One unsettled legal question is whether a president can pardon himself. The Constitution says a president cannot pardon “in cases of impeachment.” Expert legal opinions on this question vary, and the U.S. Supreme Court has not weighed in on this issue.

Researchers looked at Twitter posts allegedly ‘meddling’ in Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump

 

Accounts labeled as “Russian trolls” on Twitter had no impact on the 2016 US presidential election, according to a study published on Monday in Nature Communications. A team of researchers could not find any evidence that interactions with content attributed to the “Internet Research Agency” (IRA) in any way influenced attitudes, voting patterns, or political divisions.

 

Led by the New York University Center for Social Media and Politics, the study found “no evidence of a meaningful relationship between the exposure to the Russian foreign influence campaign and changes in attitudes, polarization, or voting behavior.”

 

“My personal sense coming out of this is that this got way overhyped,” Josh Tucker, one of the study's authors, told the Washington Post.

 

Democrats have blamed Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump in 2016 on “Russian meddling,” claiming the IRA precision-targeted voters in swing states with “misinformation” and accusing WikiLeaks of working for the Kremlin after it published Clinton campaign internal emails.

 

The researchers took these claims at face value, claiming that the IRA’s “alleged efforts to undermine US democracy are now widely documented” by the media, other researchers and the US government, who are all “consistent in their assessment of the potential goals” of such a campaign.

 

Yet they could find no statistical or other evidence that exposure to tweets allegedly created by the IRA had any effect on polarizing American society or changing anyone’s vote preference. Repeated modeling showed the relationship between the number of “Russian” posts and voting for Trump was “near zero (and not statistically significant).”

 

Faced with a result directly contradicting the position widely accepted in the US political establishment, the researchers argued that the Russian influence campaign still had some kind of an effect, by “convincing Americans that its campaign was successful.”

 

It was the US media and partisan operatives, however, that did all the convincing. The researchers’ footnotes rely heavily on media reporting. They also include the Senate Intelligence Committee report on “Russian meddling,” which relied on advice from New Knowledge, a group of Democrat operatives that ran a false-flag “Russian bot” operation during the 2017 special Senate election in Alabama. One of the footnotes cites a New Knowledge report authored in 2019 – after their operation was exposed, and just before they rebranded as Yonder.

 

Twitter’s internal documents, made public last week by journalist Matt Taibbi, also showed how Democrats on the House and Senate intelligence committees worked with media outlets to browbeat Twitter, first into finding any accounts that could be classified as “linked to Russia,” and then into accepting outside censorship as the norm.

EPILEPSY ANON ON MASS SHOOTERS AND THEIR PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS

 

So I've recently been diagnosed with epilepsy and have come here off and on to vent and ask for help, prays, and so on. I came across something interesting about the recent Idaho College killer. He had symptoms of "visual snow", which is an overactivity of the brain in the visual cortex. I looked at what drugs they typically give for this and they're similar to epilepsy drugs… drugs that VERY OFTEN have side effects of anger, rage, and violence. KEPPRA is a drug that sometimes gets called kepprage, because of the extreme nature of anger as a side effect.

 

I'm starting to wonder if all these shooters are on anti-epileptic drugs. I used to think it was mostly SSRIs and depression related drugs, but the more I read about anti-epileptic drugs, I can't help but make the connection…

Treating over activity in the brain with these drugs is scary. I'm scared because I'm supposed to start on one of these drugs but haven't yet, and I've been trying to use a probiotics and magnesium based approach to stop my epilepsy, and it helps, but it hasn't stopped it, and I'm getting really scared. The only case I've seen epilepsy be "cured" is from a fecal microbiota transplant, so it seems like it could be some kind of infection from gut bacteria that causes it, and can be cured that way too.

Youth hockey doctor Zvi Levran was arraigned on three more criminal sexual conduct charges Wednesday, the latest in the investigation into reports of sexual assault by the Metro Detroit urologist.

 

Levran, 66, of Farmington Hills had already been facing 20 charges of criminal sexual conduct in the Farmington Hills court he appeared in Wednesday, as well as two charges in a West Bloomfield court.

Youth hockey doctor Zvi Levran was arraigned on three more criminal sexual conduct charges Wednesday in a Farmington Hills court, the latest in the investigation into reports of sexual assault by the Metro Detroit urologist. Bond was set for $250,000 on the 25 charges he is facing.

Since then, Farmington Hills police report receiving more than 40 tips of reported criminal activity by Levran on their 24-hour tipline at (248) 871-2610. Reports have come from around the state as well as North Carolina, Minnesota, Arizona, California, Georgia and Canada.

NASA’s Webb Telescope Reveals Links Between Galaxies Near and Far

A new analysis of distant galaxies imaged by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope shows that they are extremely young and share some remarkable similarities to “green peas,” a rare class of small galaxies in our cosmic backyard.

 

“With detailed chemical fingerprints of these early galaxies, we see that they include what might be the most primitive galaxy identified so far. At the same time, we can connect these galaxies from the dawn of the universe to similar ones nearby, which we can study in much greater detail,” said James Rhoads, an astrophysicist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, who presented the findings at the 241st meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Seattle.

 

A paper describing the results, led by Rhoads, was published Jan. 3 in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

 

Green pea galaxies were discovered and named in 2009 by volunteers taking part in Galaxy Zoo, a project where citizen scientists help classify galaxies in images, starting with those from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Peas stood out as small, round, unresolved dots with a distinctly green shade, a consequence of both the colors assigned to different filters in the survey’s composite images and a property of the galaxies themselves.

 

Green pea galaxy colors are unusual because a sizable fraction of their light comes from brightly glowing gas clouds. The gases emit light at specific wavelengths – unlike stars, which produce a rainbow-like spectrum of continuous color. Peas are also quite compact, typically only about 5,000 light-years across or about 5% the size of our Milky Way galaxy.

 

“Peas may be small, but their star-formation activity is unusually intense for their size, so they produce bright ultraviolet light,” said Keunho Kim, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cincinnati and a member of the analysis team. “Thanks to ultraviolet images of green peas from Hubble and ground-based research on early star-forming galaxies, it’s clear that they both share this property.”

 

In July 2022, NASA and its partners in the Webb mission released the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe yet seen, capturing thousands of galaxies in and behind a cluster known as SMACS 0723. The cluster’s mass makes it a gravitational lens, which both magnifies and distorts the appearance of background galaxies. Among the faintest galaxies behind the cluster were a trio of compact infrared objects that looked like they could be distant relatives of green peas. The most distant of these three galaxies was magnified by about 10 times, providing a significant assist from nature on top of the telescope’s unprecedented capabilities.

 

Webb did more than image the cluster – its Near-Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec) instrument also captured the spectra of selected galaxies in the scene. When Rhoads and his colleagues examined these measurements and corrected them for the wavelength stretch resulting from the expansion of space, they saw characteristic features emitted by oxygen, hydrogen, and neon line up in a stunning resemblance to those seen from nearby green peas.

 

Additionally, the Webb spectra made it possible to measure the amount of oxygen in these cosmic dawn galaxies for the first time.

 

As stars produce energy, they transmute lighter elements like hydrogen and helium into heavier ones. When stars explode or lose their outer layers at the ends of their lives, these heavier elements become incorporated into the gas that forms the next stellar generations, and the process continues. Over cosmic history, stars have steadily enriched the universe.

 

Two of the Webb galaxies contain oxygen at about 20% of the level in our Milky Way. They resemble typical green peas, which nevertheless make up less than 0.1% of the nearby galaxies observed by the Sloan survey. The third galaxy studied is even more unusual.

 

“We’re seeing these objects as they existed up to 13.1 billion years ago, when the universe was about 5% its current age,” said Goddard researcher Sangeeta Malhotra. “And we see that they are young galaxies in every sense – full of young stars and glowing gas that contains few chemical products recycled from earlier stars. Indeed, one of them contains just 2% the oxygen of a galaxy like our own and might be the most chemically primitive galaxy yet identified.”

Iranian court sentences ex-defense ministry adviser to death in espionage case — report

Alireza Akbari has been convicted of espionage for the UK

MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/. An Iranian court has sentenced to death Alireza Akbari, an adviser to a former defense minister who was in office from 1997 to 2005, the ISNA news service reported on Wednesday.

 

Akbari has been convicted of espionage for the UK, according to the report. The Iranian intelligence agency described him as "one of the most important agents of the British intelligence services, who collected important data about Iran to pass them on abroad." Akbari, according to the agency, had access to classified data and regularly passed them over to the intelligence services of hostile countries.

 

Following the preliminary sentencing to death, Akbari filed an appeal, which was then turned down and the ruling was upheld. The report didn’t say when the preliminary sentencing took place.

 

The BBC said on Wednesday that Akbari’s family members had been summoned to his prison for the last visit. According to the BBC, Akbari has dual citizenship, also being a UK national.

 

Akbari denied any wrongdoing. The BBC said the former adviser had been detained about 10 months ago and was tortured while in custody.

Biden Administration Rescinds Military Vaccine Mandate After Republicans Force Them To

 

The Biden Pentagon released a memo from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Tuesday evening that formally rescinded its COVID-19 military vaccine mandate, after Republicans forced the administration to back down via defense legislation last month.

 

The memo rescinds the vaccine mandate for both active duty, National Guard, and Reserve forces.

 

Austin had ordered, on August 24, 2021, that all forces be fully-vaccinated or else face discharge from the military. At least 8,400 troops were discharged, with several tens of thousands who had applied for accommodation requests — either medical, administrative or religious. Tens of thousands more reservists — up to 60,000 by some estimates — also remained unvaccinated and were on the chopping block, exacerbating a recruiting crisis.

 

Troops also successfully sued to temporarily enjoin the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps from taking action against anyone who had applied for a religious accommodation, and the Pentagon inspector general indicated in a memo to Austin that blanket denials of religious accommodation requests potentially ran afoul of the law.

 

Some troops also fought the mandate on the basis that the DOD can only mandate FDA-approved vaccines, and that the DOD was administering a different version that was still under Emergency Use Authorization and not FDA-approved. A then-DOD official, Terri Adirim, dubiously argued in a memo that the two vaccines were interchangeable.

 

Still, the Biden Pentagon refused to consider rescinding the policy until Republicans in the House and Senate fought to have it rescinded via the yearly defense policy bill known as the National Defense Authorization Act, which authorizes defense spending and policies every year.

 

The Pentagon said in a statement accompanying the release of the memo: “This rescission requirement was established by the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023.” It added:

 

The health and readiness of the Force are crucial to the Department’s ability to defend our nation. Secretary Austin continues to encourage all Service members, civilian employees, and contractor personnel to get vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 to ensure Total Force readiness.

 

The memo left open the possibility of troops still getting separated for not being vaccinated, however.

 

It said: “No individuals currently serving in the Armed Forces shall be separated solely on the basis of their refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccination if they sought an accommodation on religious, administrative, or medical grounds.”

 

It said that the military would remove adverse actions for those individuals that were solely associated with denials of those requests, including potentially career-ending letters of reprimand.

 

It also said the military would cease any ongoing reviews of current service members’ accommodation requests.

 

The memo also indicated that the DOD would continue to take action against unvaccinated service members:

 

Other standing Departamental policies, procedures, and processes regarding immunization remain in effect. These include the ability of commanders to consider, as appropriate, the individual immunization status of personnel in making deployment, assignment, and other operational decisions, including when vaccination is required for travel to, or entry into, a foreign nation.

 

It said the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness would issue additional guidance to “ensure uniform implementation” of the memo. In recent days, the Army and Coast Guard had issued guidance, only to retract it within hours.

 

Republicans have promised to take up the issue of reinstatement of discharged troops with back pay in 2023.

First Images Released From NOAA-21 VIIRS Instrument

Bright blue water in the Caribbean Sea and smog in Northern India appear in the first global image produced with data from NOAA-21’s VIIRS instrument.

 

The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument on NOAA-21 began collecting Earth science data on Dec. 5 as the satellite passed over the East Coast of the United States. Data for the global image was collected over a period of 24 hours between Dec. 5 and 6. This came three weeks after NASA launched the NOAA-21 satellite from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Nov. 10, 2022.

 

The VIIRS instrument — which also flies on the NOAA-20 and the NASA/NOAA Suomi-NPP satellites — provides global measurements of the atmosphere, land, and oceans. It was built by Raytheon Intelligence & Space in El Segundo, California.

 

"VIIRS serves so many disciplines, it’s an absolutely critical set of measurements,” said Dr. James Gleason, NASA project scientist for the JPSS Flight Project. “VIIRS provides many different data products that are used by scientists in unrelated fields, from agricultural economists trying to do crop forecasts, to air quality scientists forecasting where wildfire smoke will be, to disaster support teams who count night lights to understand the impact of a disaster.”

 

Over the oceans, VIIRS measures sea surface temperature, a metric that’s important for monitoring hurricane formation. It also measures ocean color, which helps scientists monitor phytoplankton activity, a key indicator of ocean ecology and marine health.

 

“The turquoise color that's visible around Cuba and the Bahamas in the bottom-left image above comes from sediment in the shallow waters around the continental shelf,” said NOAA's Dr. Satya Kalluri, Joint Polar Satellite System program scientist.

 

Over land, VIIRS can detect and measure wildfires, droughts and floods, and its data can be used to track the thickness and movement of wildfire smoke. The bottom-right image above shows haze and smog over Northern India that is likely due to agricultural burning. The snow-capped Himalayas and the Tibetan plateau are also visible to the north.

 

One of the unique features of VIIRS is its Day-Night Band, which captures images of lights at night, including city lights, lightning, auroras and lights from ships and fires. And one of its most important uses is imagery over Alaska, Dr. Kalluri said. This is because these satellites, which orbit the Earth from the North pole to the South pole, fly directly over the Arctic several times a day.

 

The instrument also generates critical environmental products on snow and ice cover, clouds, fog, aerosols and dust, and the health of the world’s crops.

 

This “first light” image comes two weeks after the first image from the satellite’s Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) was released. The satellite, known as JPSS-2 during the build and launch, was officially renamed NOAA-21 after launch, following NOAA’s naming conventions for polar orbiting satellites.

 

“We had two VIIRS on orbit, and now we’ve got three,” Dr. Gleason said. “We launch multiple weather satellites to make doubly and now triply sure we always have one going. Space is a dangerous environment. Stuff happens and you can lose an instrument or a satellite, but we cannot lose the data. It’s too important, to too many people.”

Former Judge Arrested for Allegedly Soliciting Sex From Defendant’s Girlfriend in Exchange for Deal

 

A former Monroe County, Arkansas district court judge was arrested on charges alleging he solicited sex from a defendant’s girlfriend in exchange for making a deal regarding the defendant’s criminal case.

 

The DOJ reported Thomas David Carruth allegedly solicited sex from a defendant’s girlfriend in exchange for “expediting that defendant’s trial date.”

 

Carruth is now being charged with one count of bribery, one count of obstruction of justice, three counts of honest services wire fraud, and count of making false statements.

 

If Carruth is convicted, he will face up to 20 years in prison.

 

Carruth however is maintaining his innocence and told KARK 4 News he was being blackmailed by a woman.

 

He would go on to say as soon as he was blackmailed he notified both the FBI and the Arkansas State Police right away.

 

Carruth would go on to tell the press “I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do. When someone tried getting me to do something, I contacted authorities.”

 

Currently Carruth has been released from custody until his next court date.

On January 10, 2023, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 365 to 65 in favor of a resolution to establish the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, chaired by Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI). The following information is worthy of further investigation by that committee.

 

SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 disease and pandemic, possesses a number of unusual structural features, which make a natural origin highly unlikely.

 

The spike protein, which extends outward from the body of the virus and modulates the binding and fusion of the virus with the human cells, has components that appear to be unique to SARS-CoV-2 and not a consequence of a normal evolutionary process.

 

Foremost among the unusual genetic features of the virus is a small structure called a furin polybasic cleavage site, which can be considered one of several pieces of “smoking gun” evidence for the laboratory origin of SARS-CoV-2.

 

Already in 2005, subsequent to the first 2002-2004 SARS pandemic (SARS-CoV-1), furin and other protein cleavage processes were known to increase both the transmissibility and pathogenicity of coronaviruses.

 

The presence of the furin polybasic cleavage site may enhance the ability for SARS-CoV-2 to infect multiple human organ systems.

 

Identified already by mid-February 2020 (5), the furin polybasic cleavage site in SARS-CoV-2 is a four amino acid sequence, Proline-Arginine-Arginine-Alanine or PRRA at the junction of the S1 and S2 components of the spike protein, a structure that is not found in any animal coronavirus from which SARS-CoV-2 could have evolved.

 

Furthermore, the RR part pf the PRRA furin polybasic cleavage site is coded by the gene sequence CGG-CGG, an extremely rare double codon , not found elsewhere in SARS-CoV-2 or in any coronavirus from which SARS-CoV-2 could have evolved, a fact even recognized by Chinese scientists by June 2020.

 

Remarkably, the exact reverse genetic sequence of the furin polybasic cleavage site found in SARS-CoV-2 is also found in a 2016 patent filed by the vaccine-maker Moderna.

 

The calculated probability of the furin polybasic cleavage site appearing in SARS-CoV-2 and its reverse genetic sequence present in the Moderna patent occurring as two independent events is infinitesimally small, which makes it virtually impossible that the PRRA insertion could have occurred naturally.

 

A December 12, 2019 agreement between Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Ralph Baric of the University of North Carolina, a scientist known for his “gain of function” experiments on coronaviruses, allowed Baric to receive the “mRNA coronavirus vaccine candidates developed and jointly-owned by NIAID and Moderna.”

 

Likely interactions between Fauci, Baric, Moderna and scientists in China long before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic suggest that information contained in the Moderna patent could have been used in the laboratory creation of SARS-CoV-2.

 

Another “smoking gun” is the de facto scientific recipe for the laboratory creation of SARS-CoV-2 described in the 2018 research grant application to the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) entitled “ Project DEFUSE : Defusing the Threat of Bat-borne Coronaviruses”

Susan M. Collins, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, said she was leaning toward a quarter-point interest rate increase at the central bank’s next meeting — a slowdown that would signal a return to a normal pace of monetary policy adjustment after a year in which officials took rapid action to slow the economy and contain inflation.

 

Fed policymakers raised interest rates to a range of 4.25 to 4.5 percent in 2022 from near-zero, an aggressive path that included four consecutive three-quarter point adjustments. Officials slowed down with a half-point rate move in December, and a few of the Fed’s regional presidents have in recent days suggested that an even smaller adjustment could be possible when the Fed releases its next decision on Feb. 1.

 

Ms. Collins added her voice to that chorus — but even more declaratively, making it clear that she would at this point support slowing to rate adjustments of 25 basis points, or a quarter point. Changing policy more gradually would give the central bank more time to see how its actions affect the economy and whether they were working to contain rapid inflation. “I think 25 or 50 would be reasonable; I’d lean at this stage to 25, but it’s very data-dependent,” Ms. Collins said in an interview with The New York Times on Wednesday. “Adjusting slowly gives more time to assess the incoming data before we make each decision, as we get close to where we’re going to hold. Smaller changes give us more flexibility.”

 

Ms. Collins is one of the Fed’s 12 regional bank presidents and one of its 19 policymakers. She does not have a formal vote on rate changes this year, but she will join in deliberations as the decision is made.

Twitter permanently suspended OANN reporter Daniel Baldwin this morning following a tweet covering Congressman Buddy Carter’s Fair Tax Act, which will abolish the IRS.

 

H.R.25, the Fair Tax Act, will “promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national sales tax to be administered primarily by the States,” according to the bill.

 

Buddy Carter tweeted that Congress can “abolish the IRS” by passing this bill.

 

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Democrats and RINO lawmakers weaponized the IRS against good, hard-working Americans last August by passing the ‘Inflation Reduction Act,’ which hired 87,000 new IRS agents, including armed and fit federal tax agents who are “willing to use deadly force.”

 

The House of Representatives on Monday evening voted 221-210 to repeal funding for 87,000 IRS agents.

 

“Instead of adding 87,000 new agents to weaponize the IRS against small business owners and middle America, this bill will eliminate the need for the department entirely by simplifying the tax code with provisions that work for the American people and encourage growth and innovation. Armed, unelected bureaucrats should not have more power over your paycheck than you do,” said Rep. Buddy Carter in a press release announcing his new bill.

 

Rep. Bob Good said, “This transforms the U.S. tax code from a mandatory, progressive, and convoluted system to a fully transparent and unbiased system which does away with the IRS as we know it.”

 

“In addition to eliminating all personal and corporate income taxes, the death tax, gift taxes, and the payroll tax, the Fair Tax would also eliminate the need for the Internal Revenue Service. The Fair Tax would repeal the current tax code and replace it with a single national consumption tax that is pro-growth and allows Americans to keep every cent of their hard-earned money,” states the release.

 

Baldwin sent the following 100% accurate and sourced tweet this morning before leaving his house for work, and when he looked at Twitter again, he received a permanent suspension, he said.

 

“Good morning: @RepBuddyCarter will introduce the Fair Tax Act today.

 

The bill would eliminated income, payroll, death, and gift taxes. It would replace them with a national consumption tax.

 

It would also abolish the IRS.

A new investigation looks into the extent to which U.S. water supplies are contaminated with uranium.

 

Maybe it’s the good kind of uranium that turns you into Spider-Man or the Incredible Hulk and not the bad kind of uranium that turns you into Thyroid Cancer Man – one of the lesser-known Marvel superheroes.

 

ProPublica has come out with an investigation entitled “The Cold War Legacy Lurking in U.S. Groundwater.” After World War II, the Cold War started between the U.S.S.R. and the U.S. because the rich needed to stop the damn Communists from pushing their furry hats on everyone! There was a feverish need to build loads of nuclear weapons. To do that, the U.S. needed uranium, and its ruling class didn’t care how they got it.

 

More than 50 uranium mines popped up across the Western U.S. But they didn’t just turn our weapons radioactive. They also “dumped radioactive and toxic waste into rivers like the Cheyenne in South Dakota and the Animas in Colorado. … Some of the more than 250 million tons of toxic and radioactive detritus… scattered into nearby communities, some spilled into streams and some leaked into aquifers.”

 

Luckily for the U.S. government at the time, most of the people having their lives destroyed by radioactive detritus were either Native Americans, poor, or both. And as we know well, none of those groups matter to the ruling class – not then and not now. They don’t care about anybody who doesn’t have enough money to have, at minimum, one backup tax haven for when their first tax haven floods due to climate change.

 

Providing clean water is the most basic responsibility of a government. The U.S. government – the richest in the world – can’t do that, which puts this country at the level of a failed state.

 

And this is nothing new. The U.S. government – which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of corporate America – has a long history of polluting its own people’s drinking water.

 

Of course, everyone knows about the lead-tainted water of Flint, Michigan. But did you know that in 2016, excessive lead levels were found in almost 2,000 water systems across all 50 states?

 

This year, shocking levels of lead were found in Chicago’s tap water. But of course, it goes far beyond lead.

 

Also this year, as reported by ABC News, “A lawsuit alleged the Navy ‘harbored toxic secrets’ after jet fuel leaked from a storage facility in Red Hill, Hawaii operated by the Navy, contaminating locals’ drinking water and sickening hundreds of families.”

 

A nine-month investigation by The Guardian last year “sampled tap water across the U.S. – and found arsenic, lead and toxic chemicals.”

 

Then there was that time a few years ago when people were complaining that their tap water was flammable because of hydro-fracking in the area. A peer-reviewed scientific study later proved this point by linking flammable drinking water to fracking. Which begs the question – what are they putting in the water that makes it set fire? Well, we don’t really know because of something called the Halliburton Loophole.

 

“This loophole amended the Safe Drinking Water Act — a major tool the EPA uses to keep our drinking water clean — to provide an exemption for the fluids used in hydraulic fracturing (or fracking). As a result, the EPA does not have the legal authority to regulate fracking fluids,” reported Matt Davis for The Big Think in 2019

 

Basically, Dick Cheney put his secret sauce in a lot of the country’s water supply, and now that water is spicy hot.

Top Biden officials worked at DC think tank where classified docs were found

 

At least 10 current and former high​-ranking Biden administration officials — including Secretary of State Antony Blinken — worked at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, the president’s namesake Washington, DC-based think tank where classified documents were discovered in November, according to a report.​

 

The foreign policy institution associated with the University of Pennsylvania counted Blinken, Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl and White House counselor Steven Richetti as former employees, Fox News reported Wednesday.

 

​Blinken and ​Richettei were managing directors of the center while Kahl was a strategic consultant.

 

In addition to the trio, other former workers at the center include Spencer Boyer, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for Europe and NATO policy, who was a senior fellow. ​​J​​effrey Prescott, the deputy to the US ambassador to the United Nations, was a strategic consultant; ​​Ariana Berengaut, a senior adviser to the national security adviser, was a center director; ​​​​Michael Carpenter, the US representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, was a managing director; ​​Juan Gonzalez, a special assistant to the president, was a senior fellow; and ​​​​Carlyn Reichel, a special assistant to Biden and senior director for speechwriting and strategic initiatives, was the director of communications, according to Fox.

 

Brian McKeon, a senior director at the center, was the deputy secretary of state for management and resources until he stepped down last month.

 

Since taking office, Biden has named longtime Penn president Amy Gutmann as the US ambassador to Germany while tapping David Cohen, the former head of the school’s board of trustees, as ambassador to Canada.

 

Biden praised Gutmann at the opening ceremony of the Penn Biden Center in February 2018 when he was interviewed by NBC News senior foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell, another Penn alum.

 

“​​President Gutmann, when you came to me before the [Obama] administration was up and asked me whether I [would] consider to be a professor at Penn, the first thought I had was that it sounded like an intriguing idea, but it became even more intriguing after the outcome of the [2016] election when you said I could bring along with me some serious, serious people,” Biden said.

 

“Serious staff people and much more than staff and they start with Tony Blinken and Steve Ricchetti and others, so thank you for allowing me to bring along some really, really bright people.”

Nevada’s New Governor Rescinds All COVID-19 Mandates

 

Nevada’s newly minted Gov. Joe Lombardo, a Republican, said Friday that he signed his first two executive orders, including one that repeals all COVID-19 mandates from the prior administration.

 

Lombardo, former sheriff of Clark County, was sworn into office as the state’s 31st governor on Jan. 2, pledging to “follow the Nevada Way.”

 

The first of the two executive orders Lombardo signed on Friday rescinds all COVID-19-related directives issued under the administration of former Gov. Steve Sisolak, a Democrat.

 

Sisolak ended the COVID-19 state of emergency in Nevada by signing a proclamation to that effect (pdf) in May 2022, but Lombardo’s order said the move “left unclear and uncertain the status of subsequent declarations,” per the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

 

Many of Sisolak’s directives, including masking and social distancing, haven’t been active in over a year.

 

Lombardo’s office said of the executive order that “the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are significantly down from their peaks, vaccinations and treatments are widely available, and many Nevadans have built up natural immunity.”

 

“Therefore, this executive order repeals and rescinds any remaining COVID-19 era declarations, executive orders, and emergency directives,” it added.

 

Lombardo has previously taken action against COVID-19 vaccine mandates. In February 2022, when he was the Clark County sheriff and a candidate for Nevada governor, he lifted the vaccine mandate for new hires of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

 

The second executive order Lombardo signed on Friday directs the Nevada Department of Administration to find ways to boost hiring and retention of state employees amid a high vacancy rate, with the Las Vegas Review-Journal reporting that this rate sits at 24 percent of legislatively approved positions.

 

Lombardo, who ran as a more moderate candidate compared to the rest of the Republican primary field, called for unity while speaking at his Jan. 4 inauguration ceremony, saying that “in some places, we are needlessly polarized.”

 

Still, he made clear he stands for conservative ideals.
