Australia Day does not celebrate the arrival of the first fleet or the invasion of anything

Captain Cook did not arrive in Australia on the 26th January. The landing of Captain Cook in Sydney happened on the 28th April 1770 – not on 26th January.

The first fleet arrived in Botany Bay on 18th January. The 26th was chosen as Australia Day for a very different and important reason.

The 26th of January is the day Australians received their independence from British Rule. However, Captain Cook’s landing was included in Australian bi-centenary celebrations of 1988 when Sydney-siders decided Captain Cook’s landing should become the focus of the Australia Day commemoration.

Sadly the importance of this date for all Australians has begun to fade and now a generation later, it is all but lost. The media as usual is happy to twist the truth for the sake of controversy.

Captain Cook didn’t land on the 26th January, so changing the date of any celebration of Captain Cook’s landing would not have any impact on Australia Day, but maybe it would clear the way for the truth about Australia Day.

Australians of today abhor what was done under British governance to the Aborigines, the Irish and many other cultures around the world. So after the horrors of WW11, we decided to try and fix it. We became our own people.On 26th January 1949, the Australian nationality came into existence when the Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948 was enacted. That was the day we were first called Australians and allowed to travel with passports as Australians and NOT British subjects.

In 1949 therefore, we all became Australian citizens under the Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948.

Before that special date, all people living in Australia, including Aborigines, were called ‘British Subjects’ and forced to travel on British passports and fight in British wars.

This is why we celebrate Australia Day on the 26th January. This was the day Australians became free to make our own decisions about which wars we would fight and how our citizens would be treated. It was the day we were all declared Australians.

The FBI and other left-leaning entities have left us in our own Truman Show

 

Given the fire-hose disgorgement of revelations about the behavior of the FBI, the CIA and their infiltration of the mainstream media, there is ample justification for believing that we are living in some dystopian, distinctly unfunny version of The Truman Show.

 

In the movie, the gormless Truman Burbank grows up thinking he is living a normal, happy life in a normal, happy town. Only gradually does he realize that something is amiss. Slowly, piece by piece, the awful truth dawns on him: his entire social world is a fabrication, a gigantic product-placement concession with him as the unwitting MacGuffin.

 

The deception is played for laughs, mostly. There are not many laughs in our Truman Show, the one in which the FBI hatches a fake plot to kidnap Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer, enlists some pathetic lowlifes to participate, then blows the cover and arrests the saps who joined them. One was just sentenced to sixteen years in the big house, another to nearly twenty.

 

In our Truman Show, various police and intelligence entities, including the FBI and the CIA, are in cahoots with Twitter, Facebook and other social media companies. We wouldn’t have known much about this except for the courageous action of Elon Musk, who everyone thought overpaid to acquire Twitter — $44 billion of the crispest — but who has been demonstrating almost daily that the deal was cheap at the price.

 

The journalists he has given access to Twitter’s files — including Bari Weiss, Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger — have ripped the putrid bandage off a suppurating orifice of deception, lies and politicized interference.

 

Glenn Greenwald provided a meticulously researched summary of that assault on his internet video show “System Update.” The episode in question exposes the FBI’s “propaganda partnership with Twitter.” Senior Twitter officials, Greenwald shows, met regularly with what amounted to FBI handlers. In the end, they “degraded Twitter into little more than a full-on Democratic Party activist machine, all while lying to the public about its function. This was a massive public fraud and 2020 election interference.”

 

Swirl that around in your mouth before swallowing: “a massive public fraud and 2020 election interference.” Forget about people screaming that you are a “conspiracy theorist” disseminating “disinformation.” In truth, you are acting as a documentary reporter.

 

Greenwald’s show aired on December 20 on the new(ish) video platform Rumble. If you don’t know Rumble, you should. It is the free-speech alternative to YouTube, that thoroughly compromised media outlet that is owned by Google, which itself is part of the surveillance apparatus of the regime.

 

The FBI emitted a blustering but ultimately pathetic denial that its hand-in-glove work with Twitter and other outlets was anything but normal investigative activity, designed to keep the public safe and free from “foreign influence” and perfidious “misinformation.”

 

The public centerpiece of this sorry development was the all-hands-on-deck effort — a successful effort — to bury the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop just weeks before the 2020 election. The FBI was there, leaning on Twitter (which didn’t require much pressure) to shove the potentially catastrophic revelation into the oubliette of pseudo-national-security censorship.

Judicial Watch: Lawsuit Forces Release of Justice Department Records on Raid on Project Veritas’s James O’Keefe’s Home

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it received 11 pages of heavily redacted records from the U.S Department of Justice concerning communications of The New York Times to officials in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY), showing the Times was tipped off about the November 6, 2021, FBI raids on the homes of Project Veritas founder/CEO James O’Keefe and then-Project Veritas journalists.

 

Seven pages of records are redacted in large part and three pages withheld entirely, which the agency claims are “not part of the responsive record.”

 

The records were produced in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed in September 2022 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia after the agency failed to respond to a March 29, 2022, FOIA request (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of Justice (No.1:22-cv-02652)). The Judicial Watch lawsuit seeks all records of government and non-government communications between officials in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York and representatives of the New York Times regarding Project Veritas, James O’Keefe, Ashley Biden and others.

 

The records reveal that the U.S. Attorneys’ Office for the Southern District of New York was in contact with New York Times reporters, including William K. Rashbaum (referred to in the email chains as “Willy”) and Ben Protess, before, during, and after the raids on the homes of O’Keefe and then-Project Veritas reporters.

 

The records include a November 4, 2021, email chain labeled “Search in Mamaroneck re [redacted] diary?”, from James Margolin, former Chief Public Information Officer of SDNY to Nicholas Biase, former senior public affairs office for SDNY, and an individual whose name is redacted. Margolin states that “Willy” from the Times has information about the search warrants and investigation seemingly about Ashley Biden’s diary:

 

Willy Rashbaum from the Times just called and says they know or believe that a search warrant is being conducted in Mamaroneck this morning at a location that is either the residence of Eric Cochrane (sp?) — who may or may not be a whistle-blower — or a Project Veritas office. He believes this is in connection with a Florida investigation into whether Project Veritas stole, or purchased a stolen, diary belonging to [redacted].

 

Margolin later includes redacted details about “two searches” regarding the homes of James O’Keefe and then-Project Veritas journalist Spencer Meads.

 

Margolin later states: “Times now believes it’s not ‘a Florida investigation’ but an SDNY investigation, ‘and it involves more than just the diary’ (no elaboration on that).”

 

In a November 6, 2021, email with the subject line ““Re: O’Keefe (arrest?)” from Margolin to Biase and others, Margolin states, “The Times hears O’Keefe was arrested this morning.” The rest of the body of the email is redacted as “not part of the responsive record.”

 

In response Biase thanks Margolin and writes: “The Times has his neighbor on record (who they suspect may not be entirely truthful) saying that FBI were banging on O’Keefe’s door with guns (or at least one agent with a gun) drawn.”

 

On November 24, 2021, Margolin emails a redacted individual and Biase with the subject line “Veritas,” stating that “Willy” (William K. Rashbaum of Times) informed Margolin the Times was doing another story about Project Veritas, and “they’re pretty certain subpoenas went to [redacted].” Margolin explains that Willy asked him for “a wave-off if” the information was wrong, adding “I [Margolin] made no promises.”

 

Biase writes on November 30, 2021, in the heavily redacted email chain that Biase had spoken with NYTreporters “Willy” and Ben Protess, and “neither mentioned it. Maybe Jim?” The rest of the body of the email is redacted as “not part of the responsive record.”

 

“The New York Times was obviously tipped off about the unprecedented raid on the home of James O’Keefe and other Project Veritas journalists. And these new Justice Department records raise more questions than answers about how that happened,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

January 6 Was the Worst Incident of Police Brutality Since Civil Rights Era

One might be inclined to apply Hanlon’s razor—never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity—to the actions of law enforcement on January 6, 2021. One might even be inclined to replace “stupidity” with “incompetence” to explain why police behaved the way they did that afternoon.

 

But a growing body of evidence suggests neither stupidity nor incompetence can justify what now appears to be the worst incident of police brutality against political protesters since the civil rights era. After two years of watching cherry-picked video clips produced by the Department of Justice and the news media to depict Trump supporters as the violent aggressors on January 6, the public now has an opportunity to see what really happened thanks to police body camera footage released at trial.

 

It’s ugly—and clearly malicious.

 

As American Greatness has reported for nearly two years, members of the Capitol Police and D.C. Metropolitan Police Department were involved in egregious acts of excessive force during the Capitol protest. Some use of force, obviously, was necessary. But police officers initiated most of the confrontations with otherwise peaceful protesters lawfully exercising their First Amendment rights in the nation’s capital.

 

Protesters by and large were not attempting to commit any crime and did not know the entire lawn surrounding the Capitol building had been declared off-limits. After all, police officials have since admitted that by the time people who attended Donald Trump’s speech arrived at the Capitol, signage and fencing indicating the campus was closed had been torn down.

 

The conclusion of Trump’s speech at around 1:10 p.m. coincided nearly to the minute with law enforcement’s first use of munitions on protesters assembled on the west side of the Capitol. Roughly 20 minutes earlier, a police barricade of metal racks on the far exterior of the grounds had been breached. But footage captured by the body camera of a D.C. Metro police officer showed that law enforcement had successfully pushed a growing crowd away from the building by 1:15 p.m.

 

Officer Daniel Thau, however, was on a mission. Sounding alternatively like a mad man or a bully, Thau desperately pleaded with other officers to give him munitions to use against the crowd despite a relatively controlled atmosphere outside.

 

“Over the more than 75 minutes that Thau was behind the police lines at ground level, he was like a one-man strike force,” Epoch Timesreporter Joe Hanneman observed in a detailed analysis of Thau’s footage. “He felled at least four protesters with a Taser, tossed countless explosives into the crowd, and fired a munition launcher with a 40-millimeter shell at point-blank range over the barricade.”

 

By 2:15 p.m., Thau recognized it was a pointless exercise. “It’s useless. We’re just fucking shooting zombies, man. We’re shooting zombies. That’s it.”

 

Further, Thau admitted, the unwarranted attacks were backfiring. “We’re taking out one and 10 are getting more angrier [sic]. We’re multiplying them by hitting them.” Even worse, police misused chemical gas munitions, resulting in injuries to fellow officers who then retreated from the reinforced line.

 

People inside the building didn’t fare much better. Whether they climbed in through broken windows or walked through open doors, protesters eventually filled various areas of the Capitol including the Rotunda—and were met by police officers in full riot gear including helmets, ballistic vests, eye shades, gas masks, and metal batons.

 

And again,despite no attempts to commit violence or vandalism there, protesters were subjected to harsh punishment by the police. Cops shoved and punched people who were seemingly trapped inside the Rotunda, unsure how to exit. “Do you feel big and strong now?” one woman is heard saying on body camera footage from D.C. Metro Police Officer Terrence Craig. “Does that get you off pushing around a bunch of women? A bunch of fucking unarmed women?”

 

Men witnessed an officer shove another woman without provocation. “Sergeant, take care of that officer right now!” one protester yelled at police. “She’s gonna cause real problems.” People can be heard screaming in pain; one unidentified officer is seen repeatedly punching someone on the floor.

 

It’s important to note that lawmakers and Vice President Mike Pence had been evacuated by that point. Police could have easily escorted people outside, locked the doors, and instructed those remaining outside it was time to leave.

Four Trump supporters lost their lives. Capitol Police Lieutenant Michael Byrd shot and killed Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed female veteran, at 2:44 p.m.

 

Prior to her execution, two men on the west side of the Capitol grounds—the location where Officer Thau and his colleagues had launched an assault on protesters—suffered fatal heart attacks at the same time. Independent journalist Tayler Hansendocumented he circumstances of the deaths of Benjamin Phillips and Kevin Greeson around 2:00 p.m. on January 6.“The first grenade was thrown deep into the peaceful protesters,” Hansen wrote in an analysis. “Following the initial crowd munition exploding, four of the first grenades can be seen and heard on video in under 30 seconds.”

 

“Both Greeson and Phillips died in the initial grenade barrage,” Hansen concluded.

 

His account appears to be supported by first responders called to the scene. “We started hearing explosions that later turned out to be flashbangs or smoke grenades,” one D.C. firefighter explained in a video produced by the city’s Emergency Medical Services in 2021.

 

“The tension in the crowd was getting higher and higher as the flashbang grenades were going off around us,” Gary Dziekan, a D.C. emergency medical technician, said in the video. Police continued throwing grenades as paramedics attempted to reach the two stricken men.

 

“It was just an unexplained—why was he in cardiac arrest?” paramedic Glenn Hanna said. “Nobody knew so they were thinking maybe he got injured, maybe it was a stun grenade, maybe he tased himself.”

 

Tased himself?

 

Other calls flooded in to report injuries. While conveniently leaving out the identity of the responsible party, one dispatcher told first responders someone “shot a grenade at the patient’s face, his teeth are out, mouth bleeding.” Some protesters were set on firefrom the impact of the flashbangs.

 

But perhapsno one suffered a more cruel fate than Rosanne Boyland,a Trump supporter from Georgia. Video posted by Gateway Pundit on Thursday shows people attempting to resuscitate Boyland near the lower west terrace tunnel, the scene of the most violent clashes between police and protesters. This is where officers viciously beat another female Trump supporter, as I reported here in 2021.

 

Boyland likely suffocated after being hit with noxious chemical gas in the enclosed area then trampled as police forcefully pushed people outside the tunnel, even though the building had been empty for nearly two hours.

 

It’s the first time Boyland’s lifeless body is seen in full view. Desperate protesters then drag her body to a line of officers and plead for help. But the cops kept attacking people and seemed unconcerned with her condition. One officer identified as Lila Morris reportedly beat Boyland’s dead body with a metal baton as she laid face up on the ground.

 

As Boyland’s body is finally dragged away by police, protesters confront officers. “She’s fucking dead! This is on you, motherfuckers!” (The D.C. coroner claimed Boyland died of a drug overdose.)

 

The Biden regime and news media continue to describe January 6 as a “deadly insurrection” based on the falsehood that five officers died. Meanwhile, the names of the Americans who did die that day are never mentioned.

 

Political protests in Washington, D.C., are nothing new. Since 2016, numerous, heavily attended protests—the Women’s March, the March for Science, anti-Brett Kavanaugh events, to name a few—went off without a single flashbang or sting ball filled with rubber bullets or canisters filled with chemical powder.

 

So what made January 6 different? The answer is obvious. Trump supporters are considered subhuman by the ruling class. They are not entitled to the same protections, either constitutional or personal security, as any other group of Americans. That’s why police unleashed their fury on January 6 with impunity. Not only have they faced no consequences, both departments have received congressional and presidential medals of valor.

 

Maybe next time they can just shoot all the protestors in the head.

House Republicans issued a scathing report exposing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her role in security and intelligence failures at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Emails and text messages from Pelosi’s office reveal her staff held regular meetings discussing security detail, helped edit authorities’ plans, and turned down several requests from federal law enforcement needed to protect the Capitol on that day.

“Days after Pelosi’s Jan. 6 select committee recommended insurrection charges against former president Donald Trump over the Capitol riot, Republicans have hit back with a counter-investigation apportioning blame for the internal security breakdown on Jan. 6 to Pelosi and a dysfunctional Capitol Police intelligence division,” New York Post reported.

The New York Post reported:

“Leadership and law enforcement failures within the U.S. Capitol left the complex vulnerable on January 6, 2021,” says the report, which is based on a trove of texts and email messages, and testimony from Capitol Police leaders and rank-and-file officers.

House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving, who answered to Pelosi as one of three voting members of the Capitol Police Board, “succumbed to political pressures from the Office of Speaker Pelosi and House Democrat leadership,” was “compromised by politics and did not adequately prepare for violence at the Capitol.”

Pelosi and her staff “coordinated closely” with Irving on security plans for the Joint Session of Congress on Jan. 6, but Republicans were deliberately left out of “important discussions related to security.”

And, in an apparent attempt to hide from Republicans the fact that they were being excluded from discussions, Irving asked a senior Democratic staffer to “act surprised” when he sent “key information about plans for the Joint Session on Jan. 6, 2021, to him and his Republican counterpart.”

The staffer replied sardonically: “I’m startled!”

The report also claims that “staff within the House Sergeant at Arms office emailed Paul Irving that January 6th was Pelosi’s fault,” although it provides no evidence for the assertion.

The report said that the Speaker’s office “helped edit authorities’ plans, and turned down several requests from federal law enforcement needed to protect the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.

“Reps. Jim Banks (R-IN), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Jim Jordan (R-OH), and Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) independently published a 141-page investigative report on Wednesday outlining what they describe as House Democratic leadership and Capitol authorities’ failures that left the complex vulnerable,” it said.

“Democrats and the Jan. 6 Committee used the Capitol Police as a political prop, then did nothing when USCP officers were harassed for telling the truth. They should be ashamed,” Rep. Banks, who led the investigation after he was banned from participating in the January 6 Select Committee, said to The Federalist.

Russian scare may soon force Denmark to extend conscription to women

 

Denmark’s Defence Minister Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, in an interview with the Danish state broadcaster TV2, said that the Scandinavian country, which has a sex ratio of 98.3 males per 100 females, could no longer rely on volunteers for military service. He said that everyone, including women, should now be made eligible for compulsory military service and the size of the army should be increased.

 

Pointing to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the minister said that the country, not too far from Russia, and its allies face a common threat from Russia. He claimed that if Russia succeeds in Ukraine, it will set Europe in its crosshairs.

 

Russia, he said, “must lose.”

 

The comments come in after the Danish defence ministry published the findings of a NATO report which showed that the country had failed to invest enough in defence.

 

After the review was conducted, Denmark, last month, announced that it plans to increase its defence spending by $660 million in order to reach to bring it up to 2 per cent of the GDP, which is NATO’s set standard for member states.
