I took a 5 year break from TV. I now find it unwatchable due to the comercials. More importantly they have destoryed story telling with appalingly woke propaganda. It has gotten to levels I never thought possible. They blatanly inject woke bullshit that brings nothing to the stories. Even worse, they are telling stories that sell the idea that white men are all racist assholes. It was pretty shocking to see how thye portray reality to the masses. Although Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, the Environmental Protection Agency, and local officials continue to assure Ohioans that recent air monitoring and water sample tests have shown no concerns with air quality or water quality in East Palestine’s municipal water supply, following the catastrophic train derailment on February 3rd, forestry workers have found that animals are dying at alarming rates.

 

A source told The Ohio Star that her husband, a wildlife biologist and consultant for the federal forestry, received hundreds of calls on both Sunday and Monday from colleagues who say forestry workers have found hundreds of dead animals in Ohio’s parks.

 

Several labs across the country have received specimens of whole minks, deer, elk, worms and livers of such animals and they are finding toxicities that are off the charts, she said.

 

“These highly toxic levels are the exact chemicals that were released from East Palestine. Wayne National Forest and Shawnee State Forest in Ohio, are downriver from East Palestine and are two parks where samples are from,” she told The Star.

 

50 train carriages, 10 of which were carrying hazardous materials, derailed in East Palestine on February 3rd. Hundreds of residents evacuated as a result of the controlled release of poisonous gasses that Norfolk Southern carried out on February 6th to stop an explosion.

 

Officials told East Palestine residents on February 8th that they could safely go home, despite the reports of hundreds of dead fish in the Ohio river near East Palestine and residents complaining of headaches and illness since the derailment.

 

There have been a growing number of reports of health concerns from residents following the derailment. Some residents this month say they have been diagnosed with bronchitis, lung issues, and rashes that doctors and nurses suspect are linked to the chemical exposure.

 

The source also told The Star that DeWine is allegedly blocking scientists from getting into state parks – but the scientists are finding ways to circumvent that.

 

“The governor and the railroad were blocking scientists from getting soil samples in East Palestine, but they were able to still grab some for testing. Likewise, the soils are highly contaminated,” she said.

 

The source claims that the Ohio governor only uses his own hand-picked scientists to “give him the results he wants.”

 

“It is heartbreaking to me that politicians like DeWine make an issue like this political. It should not be. He should be doing all he can to protect people, animals and the environment and not just cover his own behind,” she said.

 

She added that Governor DeWine has also invited a large group of forest rangers from the Ohio state parks to meet with him in Columbus this upcoming week.

As she herself boasted in a Spectator article the same month: ‘Hancock shared far more than I could ever have imagined. I have viewed thousands and thousands of sensitive government communications relating to the pandemic, a fascinating and very illuminating exercise. To make matters more toxic, the Telegraph’s coverage of the WhatsApp messages casts Mr Hancock in a less favourable light than his own version of events in his book.

It left the blindsided ex-Cabinet minister seething at her betrayal yesterday, reportedly vowing to sue Miss Oakeshott for breaching his confidences. Allies of Mr Hancock accused her of breaking a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to sell ‘stolen’ messages which had been sent to her ‘for one purpose only’, to be part of her work on his diaries. ‘Her behaviour is outrageous,’ said one.

But privately many Tory MPs and political journalists expressed astonishment that Mr Hancock had entrusted millions of words of his private correspondence to Miss Oakeshott, of all people.

One political journalist said: ‘The man needs his head testing to have gone near Oakeshott with a flaming trebuchet, let alone a bargepole.’

For a while Mr Hancock may belatedly be regretting his association with Miss Oakeshott, it is not the first time she has been at the centre of a controversy over a source placing their trust in her.

When she was political editor of The Sunday Times, in 2011, she persuaded Vicky Pryce - the former wife of Liberal Democrat minister Chris Huhne - to reveal how she had conspired with him to avoid a motoring fine for a speeding offence.

As a result of the story - and the newspaper and Miss Oakeshott giving up correspondence which exposed their source - Miss Pryce ended up in jail, as did her ex-husband.

Despite the convention that journalists should always do their utmost to protect their sources, Miss Oakeshott stood by her decision to hand over the material, saying she had warned Miss Pryce of the legal risks and insisting it was ‘not my job to provide expert criminal advice’.

Lord Bethell, a former ministerial colleague of Mr Hancock, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: ‘I think Isabel is a terrific journalist. She’s not a very good friend.’

Westminster-born mother-of-three Miss Oakeshott, 48, began her career on local newspapers and worked her way up to The Sunday Times and the Daily Mail, winning several journalism awards for her scoops.

Neither she nor Biteback Publishing - which published Mr Hancock’s pandemic book - have commented on the claim she broke a non-disclosure agreement.

Silvergate Capital shares plummeted 28% late on Wednesday after the cryptocurrency-focused bank warned it was delaying its annual report and said it was evaluating its ability to operate as a going concern. Silvergate had been trying to ease investor concerns over its future after reporting a $1 billion loss for the fourth quarter in the wake of crypto exchange FTX's bankruptcy, which shook confidence in the digital asset sector.

 

Federal prosecutors in Washington are probing Silvergate and its dealings with FTX and Alameda Research. In January, three U.S. senators asked Silvergate for details about its risk management practices and its dealings with FTX. Additionally, "the Company is evaluating the impact that these subsequent events have on its ability to continue as a going concern for the twelve months following the issuance of its financial statements," according to the filing.

Silvergate said it does not expect to file its report by an extension date of March 16.

Anon was one of the few that found ease with both mathematic and alphabetic languages, however it is not the facility or not that is anon's issue, it is the interest level!

Anon is no boomer, but not far off and simply found that programming language did not interest me.

In another life, with different stimuli, who knows, maybe things would have been different.

That being said, as previously mentioned, anon did perceive the similarity of the two languages. There are "grammatical rules" and, therefore, syntactical rules, governing them both.

Matt Hancock is said to be considering legal action to prevent further reporting

The journalist who leaked more than 100,000 of Matt Hancock's WhatsApp messages to the Telegraph has claimed the former Health Secretary sent her a 'menacing message' when he heard what she had done.

Isabel Oakeshott was given access to the messages while ghostwriting Mr Hancock's book Pandemic Diaries - but said she felt compelled to share them with the paper due to information that is in the 'public interest' being left out of the memoir.

Ms Oakeshott last night revealed she did not give the ex-minister advance notice of the leak, saying he found out 'late [Tuesday] Night'.

Writing in The Telegraph, she described the message as 'threatening' as she launched a fresh defence of her actions by focussing on the pandemic's impact on children.

On Wednesday she told Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV: 'I received a somewhat menacing message at 1.20 in the morning.'

But when pushed to reveal what the contents of that message was, Ms Oakeshott refused to do so, saying: 'You can easily summise whether Matt Hancock is my friend at this point.'

She added: 'I think he is extremely troubled about how to respond to this, but this is not about him.'

Mr Hancock is said to be 'considering all options' in response to the leak.

'She's broken a legal NDA. Her behaviour is outrageous,' a source close to the former health secretary said.

Representatives for Mr Hancock have been contacted for comment.

Yesterday Ms Oakeshott confirmed that she had broken an non-disclosure agreement with Mr Hancock - although she argued that her action was overwhelmingly in the 'public interest'.

She wrote: 'One way or another, a great deal of material that is overwhelmingly in the public interest and pertinent to the public inquiry was suppressed [from Pandemic Diaries].'

The claim of the 'menacing message' came as the Telegraph published further revelations from the WhatsApps on Wednesday night.

They detailed comments made by the then-Health Secretary to former Education Secretary Sir Gavin Williamson, in which he branded teaching unions 'absolute a**es'.

Sir Gavin is said to have replied: 'They really really do just hate work'.

Following the messages' publication, the former education secretary tweeted that his comments had been 'about some unions and not teachers'.

He added: 'I have the utmost respect for teachers who work tirelessly to support students.

'During the pandemic, teachers went above and beyond during very challenging times and very much continue to do so.'

Further details about the government's decision-making over school closures were also released on Wednesday night.

A spokesman for Mr Hancock said: 'Tonight's [Wednesday's] revelations are exactly like last night's. These are partial accounts, obviously spun with an agenda.

'They show Matt was focused throughout on saving lives. The right place for a full assessment is the (official Covid) inquiry.'

Leaked messages published on Tuesday night seemingly showed Mr Hancock rejected the Chief Medical Officer's call to test all residents going into English care homes for Covid at the start of the pandemic.

The spokesman said: 'Having not been approached in advance by the Telegraph, we have reviewed the messages overnight.

'The Telegraph intentionally excluded reference to a meeting with the testing team from the WhatsApp. This is critical, because Matt was supportive of Chris Whitty's advice, held a meeting on its deliverability, told it wasn't deliverable, and insisted on testing all those who came from hospitals.

Brazil allows two Iranian warships to dock in Rio despite US pressure

RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Two Iranian warships docked in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday after Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's government granted permission despite pressure from the United States to bar them.

 

The IRIS Makran and IRIS Dena warships both arrived on Sunday morning, Rio's port authority said in a statement.

 

Reuters earlier this month reported that Brazil had bowed to U.S. pressure and declined Iran's request for the vessels to dock in Rio in late January, in a gesture from Lula as he flew to Washington to meet U.S. President Joe Biden.

 

However, with Lula's trip over, the ships have been allowed to dock. Vice Admiral Carlos Eduardo Horta Arentz, the deputy chief of Brazil's Naval Staff, gave his approval for the ships to dock in Rio between Feb. 26 and March 4, according to a Feb. 23 notice in the official gazette.

 

The U.S. Embassy in Brasilia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

 

The Brazilian Navy authorizes a foreign vessel to dock in Brazil, but only after authorization from the foreign ministry, which takes into account the requesting embassy's petition and logistics.

 

The presence of the Iranian warships on Brazilian shores continues to irk the United States as it seeks to build closer ties with Lula's administration, which came into office on Jan. 1.

 

In a Feb. 15 press conference, U.S. Ambassador Elizabeth Bagley urged Brazil not to allow the ships to dock.

 

"In the past, those ships facilitated illegal trade and terrorist activities, and have also been sanctioned by the United States. Brazil is a sovereign nation, but we firmly believe those ships should not dock anywhere," she said.

 

Diplomacy with Iran was one of the highlights of Lula's attempts to bolster Brazil's international standing during his previous presidential terms. He traveled to Tehran to meet then-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2010 as he sought to broker a nuclear deal between Iran and the United States.
