Human rights groups call the private bill racist and undemocratic, saying it will be used to prevent Arab-Israelis from moving in.

Human rights organizations raised alarm yesterday over a private bill approved by the Ministerial Legislative Committee to expand town acceptance committees on the West Bank and larger communities, charging that the proposal is racist and undemocratic.

The amendment to the 2011 law that allows towns to screen aspiring applicants would expand the applicability of the legislation from townships with 400 households to those with up to 1,000 households. The current law applies to “community settlements” in the Negev and the Galilee. The private bill submitted by Otzma Yehudit MK Yitzhak Kroizer in January would include the Emek Iron, South Hebron Hills, Lachish and Adullam regions. A similar government bill will also be considered by the Knesset.

Adalah – The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel said the bill was part of a series of measures to implement “racial segregation” and promote the annexation of Judea and Samaria.

The law does not allow acceptance committees to reject resident candidates “for reasons of race, religion, gender, nationality, disability, class, age, parentage, sexual orientation, country of origin, views or party political affiliation,” it said.

Provisions allowing applicants deemed unsuitable for the social fabric or compatibility with the social structure of the town effectively sanction discrimination, Adalah said.

“The Acceptance Committee Law is already used to regulate a mechanism of racial segregation and is intended to implement the value of Jewish settlement that the Nation State Law enshrines as a supreme principle,” Adalah’s Dr. Suhad Bashara said in a statement. “The government’s documents openly reveal that the deepening of racism is now Israel’s official policy, and that it wishes to act to annex the occupied territories by applying the law.”

Israeli NGO disputes government's claim

The application of Israeli law in the disputed territories constituted an act of annexation, Adalah said.

The Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) said the Knesset was not authorized to enact a law for West Bank settlements, and expansion of the law is undemocratic.

The current law is already controversial and was supposed to apply to small communities with unique characteristics, such as kibbutzim, moshavim and their expanded neighborhoods, it said.

Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said Sunday that he would not ban transgender people from joining the military.

When asked on ABC's "This Week" whether he would reinstate former President Donald Trump's ban on transgender military members, Ramaswamy said: "I would not reinstate a ban on transgender members. I would, however, be very clear that for kids, that's where my policies are very focused. We should not be foisting this ideology onto children."

Reporter Martha Raddatz followed up, "But you would not ban transgender members of the military?"

"I would not," Ramaswamy responded.

One of the first initiatives under the Biden administration was to repeal directives issued by Trump restricting the enlistment of transgender individuals.

Biden administration's 2021 policy "ensures that no person, solely based on his or her gender identity, will be denied accession into the Army; involuntarily separated or discharged from the Army; denied reenlistment or continuation of service; or subjected to adverse action or mistreatment," according to the Army's website.

It appears that Ramaswamy is the first 2024 GOP candidate to publicly support transgender military members.

New Wave Of Russian Strikes Hit Military Facilities In Ukraine

In response to the massive shelling of Russian borders regions, Russian forces launched another wave of precision strikes on military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) throughout the country.

During the night, an air alert has been declared in all Ukrainian regions. This time, the attack, which was carried out by UAVs and cruise missiles, was not massive, but targeted. Targets in Kiev, Kirovograd, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions were hit.

Ukrainian military officials confirmed damage to military facilities. Spokesman of the Air Forces of the AFU, claimed that Russian strikes damaged an airfield in Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovograd region. At least two Russian missiles hit the facility. Ukrainian air defence forces failed to intercept them, the spokesman complained.

He also confirmed that some military facilities in the Sumy region were struck. They were reportedly hit by five Russian UAVs.

On the morning, smoke was seen raising on the outskirts of Kiev. The locals claimed that there was another strike. Ukrainian media reported that plastic pipes caught fire in the field.

On the evening of June 3, more military facilities of the AFU were destroyed in the cities of Dnipro, Dnepropetrovsk regions, and Slavyansk, the DPR. LINK

BIG QUESTION and A BIG COVERUP – Durham Report Brings Sunlight on Detail Never Released by IG Michael Horowitz About FBI Targeting Trump

I’m going to go into the deep weeds on this story because many people are missing a key facet. The names behind the Trump targeting operation are included, along with citations for independent checks by House congressional investigators.

Inside the recently released report by John Durham [CITATION], the special counsel outlines how former FBI Director James Comey was intimately involved in the creation of the Carter Page FISA application. Durham notes that Comey kept asking the DOJ National Security Division and FBI counterintelligence investigators, “where’s the FISA, we need the FISA.” However, John Durham never interviewed James Comey or Andrew McCabe. The former FBI Director and Deputy refused to cooperate or give testimony to John Durham. So how did John Durham have details about the demands of Comey?

The answer is found in the footnotes. Durham reviewed transcripts of interviews given by Andrew McCabe to the Office of the Inspector General, Michael Horowitz, who previously investigated FBI conduct in the origin of the Carter Page FISA. Durham pulled quotes from that transcript. [Footnote #1207, page 199 – Durham Report]

♦QUESTION: If Andrew McCabe gave testimony to the OIG about the motives and impetus of FBI Director James Comey in pushing for the Carter Page FISA application, why did the OIG report never outline those transcribed interviews? Why was the interview transcript never included in the 2019 OIG report?

[ NOTE to Congress. Now that you know a transcribed interview of Andrew McCabe exists in the OIG office, request the transcription and release it to the public.]

Let me answer those questions without the customary pretending from the DC professional political class. The short version is that OIG Michael Horowitz was trying to protect the DOJ and FBI. The longer version is a coverup that includes Rod Rosenstein, Bill Barr and yes, John Durham. I will share that story below.

I know a little about it. Built mine back before the components got too cheap chinesey. Basically just a big battery charger. The more efficient your house, the more of it you can run from your bank without drawing it down too far.

Most important part of this was just learning to be efficient and reducing use in the house. Astronomers at the observatory of La Palma in Spain's Canary Islands discovered 2023 DZ2 in late February of this year and have studied the rock to note its orbit, size and anticipated trajectory ever since.

It will travel closest to Earth in the afternoon on March 25, at around 3:50 p.m. Eastern time, according to the website EarthSky. People in the northern hemisphere will likely have the best opportunity to see the asteroid, which experts believe will be observable through small telescopes, in the evening on Friday, March 24.

NASA introduced the upcoming cosmic visitor in messages shared to Twitter this week, which confirmed that the asteroid is not expected to collide to with Earth. Despite that, the agency said that its close approach will allow astronomers to learn more about asteroids, helping them prepare for any "potential asteroid threat" that could be discovered in the future.

"A newly discovered #asteroid named 2023 DZ2 will safely pass by Earth on Saturday at 100K+ miles away," reads a tweet shared Tuesday to the NASA Asteroid Watch account on Twitter. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he wants Vietnam to become of Australia's "top tier" partners as he wraps up a two-day visit to the capital Hanoi.
