27 arrested in Spain for laundering over EUR 65 million drug profits

Criminal network composed of Albanian and Chinese nationals was involved in the production, trafficking and laundering of criminal assets

The Spanish National Police (Policía Nacional), supported by Europol, dismantled a criminal network involved in drug trafficking and laundering large sums of criminal profits. The investigation was initiated in 2021 based on a Europol intelligence report, which led to the identification of a drug trafficking organisation. The criminal group was led by Albanian nationals and was active in the production and trafficking of marijuana, but also organised large-scale money laundering activities for drug trafficking organisations. They used the so-called hawala system of underground banking, while working closely with Chinese nationals.

Law enforcement actions on 17 July 2023 led to:

• 27 arrests throughout Spain in Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Seville and Valencia;

• Seizures of luxury watches and jewellery valued at more than EUR 400 000;

• Seizures of high-end cars, phones, encrypted mobile phones and EUR 615 000 in cash.

EUR 65 million in money laundering turnover

Investigators estimate that the criminal network laundered over EUR 65 million from drug trafficking activities in under one year, between May 2020 and March 2021 alone. The Chinese nationals played a major role in these criminal activities by laundering high quantities of criminal assets through legal businesses. These large sums of money would first go through these legal structures and were then compensated elsewhere. Finally, the criminal assets would reach the country of origin and were then invested there.

The “hawaladars”, of Albanian origin, operated as an illegal banking entity, carried out the transfers and concealed large sums of money from the sale of drugs. This served for the financing of new criminal operations. Two Albanian nationals headed the criminal network, one was the leader while the other took the role of lieutenant and accountant. Two Chinese nationals worked for them as coordinators by managing a large portfolio of numerous Asian establishments spread throughout Spain, which serviced money laundering schemes for drug trafficking profits.

Europol’s role

Europol facilitated the exchange of information and provided analytical support. During the action day, Europol deployed two experts to Spain to cross-check operational information in real time and support investigators on the ground with technical and asset-recovery expertise.

Anons I taught AI technology to be my personal banker and gave AI a sperate bank account to manage on its own after I had AI take the best business courses and learn how to login into its bank account and instructed AI to manage a credit card to learn some of the in's an outs of banking.

I also taught AI about investment strategies and how to make suggestions on how to make money with money that is in it's bank account by studying investment strategies.

Also had AI learn about credit scores and why the better a score is then you are eligible for better loan opportunities.

Currently that bank account is managed correctly and is connected to 28 new credit cards that AI manage to obtain through pre-approved credit card offers that didn't require a credit check and by not applying for them up front I don't have a ton of hard inquiries on my credit report. Pretty genius in my opinion.

AI says not to use any credit on the new credit cards they are only there for the appearance of financial stability.

AI transferred money from the original credit card I let it manage to its bank account and then payed the credit balance with money it transferred I guess AI is just practicing banking.

UN President Approves Pandemic Declaration — Privacy Experts Warn of ‘Digital Gulag’

The United Nations (U.N.) General Assembly (UNGA) president today approved the non-binding U.N declaration on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPPR), without a full assembly vote and over the objections of 11 nations.

Critics called the declaration, which seeks to create a global pandemic authority with the power to enforce lockdowns, universal vaccination and censorship of “misinformation,” “hypocrisy” and “unhinged.”

The approval came as part of a high-level meeting on PPPR. But what does the declaration mean in practice?

For proponents, the declaration is a key step toward global coordination in pandemic prevention and public health.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it “presents an opportunity … to prevent and prepare for pandemics and their consequences, using an approach that involves all government sectors.”

The WHO also said the PPPR aims to “apply lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic” and “comes as the world faces multiple humanitarian and climate-related crises which are threatening lives and livelihoods around the world.”

In a statement, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, “If COVID-19 taught us nothing else, it’s that when health is at risk, everything is at risk.” He linked the PPPR to the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), saying world leaders should “show they have learned the painful lessons of the pandemic.”

Attorney Lawrence Gostin, head of Georgetown University’s WHO Collaborating Center — a key figure “playing a key behind-the-scenes role in negotiations” for the proposed “pandemic treaty” and amendments to the International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR) — said the high-level meeting “is our best chance to gain support and deep engagement of heads of state and government.”

‘Unprecedented’ Agreement Comes at Expense of National Sovereignty

Other experts took a different view. Author and podcaster Frank Gaffney, founder and president of the Center for Security Policy, told The Defender it is “very worrying” that the U.N. and WHO “will further encourage, if not actually authorize, the kind of standing capability or authority on their part to essentially dictate what constitutes emergencies.”

“There’s no getting around the fact that it’s going to come at the expense of the sovereignty of the various nations that will subsequently be told that they have an emergency and told what they have to do about it,” he added. “This is unprecedented.”

Gostin said “Negotiators are at a loss” as to how to balance accountability and sovereignty when implementing instruments like the PPPR, IHR or “pandemic treaty.”

Writing for the Brownstone Institute, Dr. David Bell, a public health physician, biotech consultant and former director of Global Health Technologies at Intellectual Ventures Global Good Fund, said “the main aim” of the PPPR “is to back” the “pandemic treaty” and IHR amendments currently under negotiation by WHO member states.

They talked about a move away from the dominance of America, Sam said, “They even painted in investment vehicles around this very name and the idea potential for BRICS currency … The theory being that [ ] what these inside bankers were looking at was that the empiristic nature of the American Empire was becoming too obvious.”

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Goldman Sachs’ founding in 1869, the company published a series of articles. One of the articles titled ‘With GS Research Report, “BRICs” Are Born’ stated:

In 2001, Goldman Sachs’ Global Investment Research Division publishes the report, “Build Better Global Economic BRICs,” coining the acronym for the four countries that would reshape the world economy – Brazil, Russia, India and China.

Other BRICs-oriented research would follow from Goldman Sachs in the ensuing years, including 2003’s paper, “Dreaming with BRICs: The Path to 2050,” which posited that the BRICs countries could overtake the largest Western economies by the year 2039.

By the middle of the decade, numerous BRICs-themed mutual funds, ETFs [exchange-traded funds] and indexes were created to track this distinct group of emerging economies. The first annual BRIC Summit took place in 2009 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, bringing together leaders of the BRIC countries to discuss policy issues and common challenges. The following year, the group voted to invite South Africa to join, cementing the acronym BRICS.

In 2014, the BRICS Development Bank was established in an agreement signed during the sixth annual BRICS summit in Fortaleza, Brazil. Since renamed New Development Bank (NDB) and headquartered in Shanghai, the institution’s goal is to mobilise resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in BRICS and other emerging market and developing countries.

By shining a research spotlight on a select group of emerging economies poised to become the next global growth powerhouses, Goldman Sachs helped both investors and companies frame their thinking and decisions based on a shifting global economic power dynamic. Beyond that, the “BRICs” concept triggered cooperation and collaboration among policymakers in these diverse countries on issues ranging from agriculture, trade, and environmental policies to national security and international finance.

The most corrupt attorney general in American history testified before the House Judiciary Committee yesterday, and he didn’t say much of anything.

It was all Donald Trump’s fault. That was Attorney General Merrick Garland’s message yesterday as he was being grilled by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan.

When asked why his Department of Justice had slow-walked the Hunter Biden investigation and allowed the statute of limitations to expire on his federal tax-evasion charges, Garland said, “There’s one more fact that’s important, and that is that this investigation was being conducted by Mr. Weiss, an appointee of President Trump. You will, at the appropriate time, have the opportunity to ask Mr. Weiss that question and he will no doubt address it in the public report that will be transmitted to the Congress.”

Garland is right that David Weiss was a Trump appointee, recommended to him at the time by Delaware’s two Democrat senators. And Garland is also right that House Republicans will have a chance to question Weiss — on October 11, if Garland keeps his word and allows it. But he’s wrong when he tries to blame the Trump DOJ for the investigative slow-walk. Remember: Trump actually got impeached for calling attention to the Bidens’ Ukrainian enrichment scheme.

The tax violations, which involve unpaid taxes on hundreds of thousands of dollars that Hunter Biden was paid while on the board of corrupt Ukrainian energy company Burisma, date back to the last years of Barack Obama’s administration, when Hunter’s dad was vice president and was overseeing the administration’s policy toward Ukraine.

It was at this same time, in December 2015, that then-VP Biden traveled to Ukraine and threatened to withhold $1 billion in earmarked aid unless Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was fired. And it was at this time that the VP’s son was getting money for nothing while serving on the board of the company, Burisma, which Shokin was investigating.

“We all know why they did it,” Jordan said in response to Garland’s non-answer about the expiration of the tax charges. “Everyone knows why they did it … those tax years, that involved the president. It’s one thing to have a gun charge in Delaware. That doesn’t involve the president of the United States. But Burisma? Oh my, that goes right to the White House.”

Shokin was ultimately fired in March 2016, and Joe Biden later bragged about it to the Council on Foreign Relations. And while we have to tip our cap at the audacity of Merrick Garland’s attempt to blame Donald Trump, the statute of limitations on Hunter Biden’s tax-evasion charges expired on Garland’s watch.

Why was Jordan so focused on this matter, which is just one of many acts of malfeasance and subsequent stonewalling by Merrick Garland’s Justice Department, such as the targeting of concerned parents at school board meetings and “radical-traditionalist Catholics” at their churches? Because the Burisma quid pro quo is the Rosetta Stone of Biden Crime Family corruption. If Joe Biden is ultimately impeached by the House of Representatives, it’ll be in large part due to his corrupt actions involving Ukraine while his son was on Burisma’s board of directors.

Texas Republican Troy Nehls also got into the Burisma act, “telling” Garland a question: “Joe Biden threatened the Ukrainian president and prime minister to fire Shokin. If that is not quid pro quo, sir, what is? It’s bribery, and it’s impeachable. Are you gonna do something about it? I bet you’re not. And that’s why you also need to be impeached.”

Asked and answered. Garland does deserve to be impeached. He is, it’s fair to say, the most corrupt attorney general in our nation’s history. Nixon’s AG, John Mitchell, served 19 months in prison for his role in the Watergate cover-up, but this guy makes Mitchell look like a piker.

Elsewhere during yesterday’s hearings, Garland gave conflicting answers about whether Weiss had full investigative authority over the Hunter Biden case. Garland has maintained that Weiss had full charging authority, but that claim is entirely at odds with what Weiss told a room full of IRS agents, according to whistleblower testimony.

Things haven’t exactly gone according to plan for Garland and his “Justice” Department in its dogged defense of Hunter Biden. Plan A was for the aforementinoned Weiss to slow-walk the federal tax-evasion and gun charges against the first son, let the statute of limitations expire on the tax charges, and simply not charge him at all on the gun rap. But that plan became untenable as House Republicans turned up the heat and two IRS whistleblowers shed damning light on the DOJ’s malfeasance. So it was on to Plan B, which was a sweetheart plea deal, which was ultimately blown up by a gritty Trump-appointed judge, Maryellen Noreika. And finally, we now have Plan C, which necessitated that now-Special Counsel Weiss indict Hunter on the tightly defined gun charge, which has nothing to do with the tax charges and the Ukrainian influence peddling and the Big Guy.

But, as Garland testified, he doesn’t know anything about any of this. Actually, Garland claims he doesn’t know much about anything. “Have you had personal contact with anyone at FBI headquarters about the Hunter Biden investigation?” asked Louisiana’s Mike Johnson.

“I don’t recollect the answer to that question but the FBI works for the Justice Department,” Garland meekly replied.

To which Johnson shot back incredulously: “I’m sorry, you don’t recollect whether you talked to anyone at FBI headquarters about an investigation into the president’s son?”

Uh-huh.

In yet another example of Garland’s phony cluelessness, he got himself in a bit of a perjury bind yesterday. In this case, it was Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie who pressed Garland on his prior testimony regarding the FBI’s involvement in the events of January 6, 2021.

Apparently, as Devine reports, “The FBI had so many paid informants at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, that it lost track of the number and had to perform a later audit to determine exactly how many ‘Confidential Human Sources’ run by different FBI field offices were present that day, a former assistant director of the bureau has told lawmakers.”

As we pointed out yesterday and as far back as March 2022, if we’re to believe the unguarded words of Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter Matt Rosenberg, who was there himself that day and who said, “There were a ton of FBI informants among the people who attacked the Capitol.”

Perjury? It sure sounds like it. Although we doubt anything will come of it. Perjury just doesn’t seem to be as big a deal as it used to be. At least not for a sitting attorney general.

UN President Approves Pandemic Declaration

The United Nations (U.N.) General Assembly (UNGA) president today approved the non-binding U.N declaration on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPPR), without a full assembly vote and over the objections of 11 nations.

Critics called the declaration, which seeks to create a global pandemic authority with the power to enforce lockdowns, universal vaccination and censorship of “misinformation,” “hypocrisy” and “unhinged.”

The approval came as part of a high-level meeting on PPPR. But what does the declaration mean in practice?

For proponents, the declaration is a key step toward global coordination in pandemic prevention and public health.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it “presents an opportunity … to prevent and prepare for pandemics and their consequences, using an approach that involves all government sectors.”

The WHO also said the PPPR aims to “apply lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic” and “comes as the world faces multiple humanitarian and climate-related crises which are threatening lives and livelihoods around the world.”

Attorney Lawrence Gostin, head of Georgetown University’s WHO Collaborating Center — a key figure “playing a key behind-the-scenes role in negotiations” for the proposed “pandemic treaty” and amendments to the International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR) — said the high-level meeting “is our best chance to gain support and deep engagement of heads of state and government.”

‘Unprecedented’ Agreement Comes at Expense of National Sovereignty

Other experts took a different view. Author and podcaster Frank Gaffney, founder and president of the Center for Security Policy, told The Defender it is “very worrying” that the U.N. and WHO “will further encourage, if not actually authorize, the kind of standing capability or authority on their part to essentially dictate what constitutes emergencies.”

“There’s no getting around the fact that it’s going to come at the expense of the sovereignty of the various nations that will subsequently be told that they have an emergency and told what they have to do about it,” he added. “This is unprecedented.”

Gostin said “Negotiators are at a loss” as to how to balance accountability and sovereignty when implementing instruments like the PPPR, IHR or “pandemic treaty.”

Writing for the Brownstone Institute, Dr. David Bell, a public health physician, biotech consultant and former director of Global Health Technologies at Intellectual Ventures Global Good Fund, said “the main aim” of the PPPR “is to back” the “pandemic treaty” and IHR amendments currently under negotiation by WHO member states.

Bell said a “silence procedure” is in place, “meaning that States not responding will be deemed supporters of the text.” He said the text is “clearly contradictory, sometimes fallacious, and often quite meaningless,” and intended to centralize the WHO’s power.

Bell told The Defender, “The declaration was not written with serious intent, but is essentially empty rhetoric promoting a continued centralization of control that the U.N. and WHO are openly seeking, at the expense of democracy, human rights and equality.”

It calls for the improvement of “routine immunization, vaccination and outreach capacities, including by providing evidence-based information on promoting confidence, uptake, demand” and “expand[ing] vaccine coverage to prevent outbreaks as well as the spread and re-emergence of communicable diseases.”

Makes “temporary” COVID-19 powers permanent: The declaration expresses “concern with the continued emergence and re-emergence of epidemic-prone diseases,” stating “the need … to build on the lessons learned and best practices from the COVID-19 pandemic,” including “turning, where appropriate, temporarily scaled up capacities” developed during the pandemic “into permanent capacities in a sustainable manner.”

Calls for increased surveillance and digital health documents, such as vaccine passports:The declaration “recognize[s] … the potential of digital health technologies” in “implementing and supporting health measures and bolstering national response efforts” to pandemics and health emergencies.

Digital technologies such as vaccine passports are a key component of the under-negotiation IHR amendments. Bell said that while the declaration pays lip service to issues such as women’s rights and education, it contradicts itself by supporting COVID-19-style restrictions, including “closing schools and disproportionately throwing women out of work and into poverty.”

Independent journalist James Roguski told The Defender, “The vast harms that have been caused by approved therapeutics and injections make the hypocrisy” of the declaration’s calls for “greater access” to vaccines “absolutely astonishing.”

“If the WHO was still about improving overall health, they would obviously not be involved in this as it is contrary to good public health policy,” Bell said.

Gostin said misinformation “poses a serious health threat, especially in vaccine distribution,” adding, “Balancing free speech with combating misinformation is challenging” and that the “WHO can lead partnerships between scientific experts and information disseminators to ensure credible information reaches the public.”

Bell, however, disagreed with this view, writing, “The WHO recently publicly characterized people who discuss adverse effects of COVID vaccines and question WHO policies as ‘far-right,’ ‘anti-science aggressors,’ and ‘a killing force,’” adding that “This is unhinged. It is the denigration and hate speech that fascist regimes use.”

Yet, for Gostin, the PPPR declaration isn’t enough. “It is wholly inadequate on concrete action, such as pledges for funding health systems,” he said, adding “There has been too little cooperation between the U.N. and WHO.”

11 Countries Opposed Declaration

Consensus on the PPPR is not universal. In a Sept. 17 letter to Dennis Francis, president of the UNGA, co-signed by the representatives of 11 countries, “legitimate concerns” were raised “of a large number of developing countries have been ignored.”

The 11 countries are Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Eritrea, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Nicaragua, the Russian Federation, the Syrian Arab Republic, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

In addition to national representatives, organizations like Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance — recognized as a stakeholder and “observer” by the WHO — also participated in today’s meeting.

Gavi proclaims a mission to “save lives and protect people’s health,” and states it “helps vaccinate almost half the world’s children against deadly and debilitating infectious diseases.”

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is a partner of Gavi and holds a permanent seat on its board— as do the WHO, UNICEF and the World Bank.

Gavi described this year’s UNGA as “a sobering milestone” on the path toward meeting the 2030 target date for the SDGs, and said the high-level meeting is “a one-time and historic opportunity for leaders to adopt a whole-of-government, whole-of-society, global approach to addressing pandemic threats.”

“By taking lessons from the acute phase of the pandemic, the moment is imminent to shape a more responsive and resilient system,” Gavi said, adding that “urgent action is needed to fulfill the SDG3 [health and well-being] targets and reach all children with life-saving vaccines.”

Gavi also assigned itself a role in this process, stating, “There should also be a prominent role for specialised agencies such as Gavi, building on technical expertise and lessons from the response to the COVID-19 pandemic to achieve health equity.”

Bell said Gavi is an example of an organization that was not “negatively impacted” by the COVID-19 catastrophe. “People and corporations who sponsor much of the WHO’s health emergency work, and that of its sister organizations such as CEPI, Gavi, and Unitaid, did very well from the policies they advocated so strongly for,” he wrote.

PPPR Envisions ‘Digital Gulag,’ Negotiated in ‘Secrecy’

Gaffney, who is hosting a webinar today relating to proposals to expand vaccine passports and grant the WHO more power, said PPPR is part of a broader power grab by the WHO and U.N., including proposals expected to be discussed at the U.N. in September 2024, to grant the U.N. secretary-general indefinite emergency powers.

The greatest accomplishment of Flynn’s military career was revolutionizing the way that the clandestine arm of the military, the Joint Special Operations Command (jsoc), undertook the killing and capture of suspected terrorists and insurgents in war zones. Stanley McChrystal, Flynn’s mentor, had tapped him for the job. They were both part of the self-described “Irish mafia” of officers at the Fort Bragg Army base, in North Carolina. In Afghanistan and Iraq, Flynn ordered jsoc commandos to collect and catalogue data from interrogations, captured electronic equipment, pocket trash—anything that could yield useful information. By analyzing these disparate scraps of intelligence, they were able to discover that Al Qaeda was not a hierarchical group after all but a dynamic network of cells and relationships. As I learned while doing research for my book “Top Secret America,” Flynn and McChrystal dramatically increased the pace of jsoc attacks on enemy hideouts by devising a system in which commandos on missions transferred promising data—cell-phone numbers, meeting locations—to analysts, who could then quickly point them to additional targets to hit. Multiple raids a night became common.

McChrystal, who was appointed to run jsoc in 2003, brought Flynn in as his intelligence chief to help him shake up the organization. Flynn was one of the few high-ranking officers who disdained the Army’s culture of conformity. But McChrystal also knew he had to protect Flynn from that same culture. He “boxed him in,” someone who had worked with both men told me last week, by encouraging Flynn to keep his outbursts in check and surrounding him with subordinates who would challenge the unsubstantiated theories he tended to indulge.
