The king of New Zealand’s indigenous Maori people has signed a ‘Declaration for the Ocean’ that calls for whales to be granted legal personhood as part of a plan to protect them, AFP reported on Thursday.

The declaration reportedly recognizes the mammals as legal persons with the inherent right to freedom of movement, natural behavior, and expression of their unique cultures. The declaration has been made with the intent of helping whales recover their depleted population.

“The sound of our ancestor’s song has grown weaker, and her habitat is under threat, which is why we must act now,” King Tuheitia Potatau te Wherowhero VII was quoted as saying.

He was echoed by high chief Travel Tou Ariki, who said: “We can no longer turn a blind eye. Whales play a vital role in the health of our entire ocean ecosystem … We must act with urgency to protect these magnificent creatures before it’s too late.”

Whales have traditionally had cultural significance for the Maori as supernatural beings and as harbingers of spiritual growth. Some tribes see the mammals as the descendants of Tangaroa, the god of the ocean.

Whales are some of the largest mammals on earth, with blue whales reaching up to 30.5 meters (100 feet) in length and weighing up to 200 tons. Many of the species are endangered.

The move to grant whales personhood would not be without precedent. In 2017, New Zealand passed a groundbreaking law granting personhood status to the Whanganui River and Mount Taranaki volcano, both of which are important to the Maori people.

The Maori are the second-largest ethnic group in New Zealand and currently make up about 17% of the country’s total population, or about 900,000 people.

James "Whitey" Bulger's nephew, Jim Bulger, was a business associate of Hunter Biden, and according to emails obtained and reviewed by Fox News Digital, appears to have played a key role in a number of his Chinese business ventures.

 

Whitey Bulger was a notorious Boston crime boss, who became one of the nation's most-wanted fugitives after fleeing Boston in late 1994. He was captured in 2011. Bulger was serving a life sentence for 11 murders and other crimes when he died in prison in October 2018.

 

In addition to being Whitey's nephew, Jim Bulger is the son of William "Billy" Bulger, who served as president of the Massachusetts State Senate for eight years. Billy Bulger was an ally of John Kerry when he served in the Senate. Kerry’s stepson, Christopher Heinz, co-founded Rosemont Seneca with Hunter Biden and Devon Archer.

 

BIDEN WROTE COLLEGE RECOMMENDATION LETTER FOR SON OF HUNTER'S CHINESE BUSINESS PARTNER, EMAILS REVEAL

 

Jim Bulger served as the chairman of Boston-based Thornton Group LLC— a firm that joined forces with Hunter Biden’s Rosemont Seneca to launch its joint-venture with Chinese investment firm Bohai Capital to create BHR Partners. BHR Partners is controlled by Bank of China Limited.

 

One email, dated Jan. 27, 2014, with the subject line: "Meeting with Chinese Ambassador," shows Bulger suggesting himself, Hunter Biden, and his Rosemont Seneca co-founder Devon Archer, "meet with the Chinese ambassador in DC to talk about the fund."

 

Bulger forwards an email from his associate, Mike Leonard of Thornton Group.

 

"Please read the document Lenny sent me today, you will find it below," Bulger writes to Biden and Archer. "A US Embassy staffer met with the former CEO of the Bahai Fund in 2008 and wrote up a report on the meeting."

 

Bulger writes that it is "pretty interesting that someone at the Embassy in Beijing would be interested in what the domestic Bohai PE Fund was up to."

 

"Thought you guys should see this," Bulger writes. "I still believe a meeting early next week with the Ambassador if possible would be best, hope this has not caused to[sic] much of an a** ache."

 

It is unclear if the meeting between Biden, Bulger, Archer and the Chinese ambassador took place. Joe Biden was serving as vice president of the United States at the time of the meeting request.

Another email, dated May 23, 2014, shows Bulger writing to Hunter Biden and Archer.

 

"Gentlemen, during the weekly BHR call last night Lindsay informed the whole China team excluding Jonathan about the message you both conveyed during the morning call with Lindsay," he wrote. "She was very clear to all on the phone that the signing of an investment contract with Gouxin or BOC or PICC is task number 1."

BOC is likely referring to Bank of China. PICC is likely referring to the People’s Insurance Company of China.

In that email, Bulger also suggests Biden and Archer discuss "high level research" with another associate from Thornton, Mike Leonard, on the "KAZ/Sino energy business" so that they "both can review."

 

In addition to his own business deals, Hunter also involved Bulger in his family’s business matters. Fox News Digital reported last October that John Owens, who is married to Valerie Biden Owens, President Biden’s younger sister, reached out to Hunter in May 2014 for assistance in securing a business license to expand his telemedicine company in China, saying it needed to be "secured very quickly."

 

Owens, who goes by Jack, emailed Hunter Biden on May 9, 2014, informing him that his companies, MediGuide America and MediGuide Insurance Services International (MISI), reached a "serious stage" in negotiations with a China-based insurance company, but said he wouldn’t be able to "seal this deal" without a "Chinese Business License."

Within the hour, Hunter turned to Bulger by forwarding the email to him. Michael Lin, a Taiwanese-American businessman who has been involved in a nonprofit that partnered with a group known for pushing propaganda supporting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), was also copied on the email.

 

"See email below. It's from my Uncle Jack. Is there a way we can help him expedite this? Time is of the essence here," Hunter wrote.

Bulger responded the next morning and said he would discuss with Lin how they can "help." Three days later, Bulger sent an email to Hunter saying, "Me and Michael had a call with Jack this morning I think we have a solution for hi[s] China problem."

 

"Michael and Ran are researching the regs and laws right now but our Thornton WOFE will likely be ok for Jacks company to use," Bulger continued. When he mentioned "WOFE," he was likely referring to the wholly foreign-owned enterprise of the Thornton Group, the company Bulger and Lin co-founded.

 

It is unclear whether Bulger and Lin were able to successfully secure the business license for Owens or whether Thornton’s "WOFE" sufficed China’s laws. However, MediGuide’s website says it has come to "an agreement with AnyHealth Shanghai," which "will be legally representing MediGuide International LLC in China."

 

Hunter appears to have been aware that Bulger was the nephew of the notorious mobster.

 

One 2011 email, obtained by Fox News Digital, shows one of Hunter's business associates forwarding a news article of Whitey Bulger's 2011 arrest to Hunter, his Rosemont Senece co-founder Devon Archer and Eric Schwerin, with the subject line: "Jim's uncle…."

 

Bulger didn't immediately return an email seeking comment.

 

Hunter has been under federal investigation for his "tax affairs" since 2018, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Acts of terrorism such as the Crocus City Hall massacre tend to have state sponsors, Omer Celik, a spokesman for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party (AKP), said on Thursday.

 

The Moscow concert venue was attacked and set on fire by a group of gunmen last Friday, who killed 143 people and injured over 300. Eleven suspects – including the four alleged perpetrators – have since been apprehended by Russian security services.

 

“It is obvious that it is impossible to carry out such a professional action without the support of intelligence of any state,” Celik, who is also the AKP deputy chairman, told the Turkish TV station NTV.

 

“Such events always have sponsors,”he added, pointing to “lobbies that want the war to continue,” in reference to the Ukraine conflict.

 

Intelligence agencies of Türkiye are assisting Russia in fighting terrorism, Celik said, adding that Ankara has sent “sincere condolences” to Moscow over the tragedy at Crocus City Hall.

 

The terrorist group “Islamic State Khorasan”(ISIS-K) claimed responsibility for Friday’s massacre. Ukraine denied having any role in it.

 

All suspects in Russian custody turned out to be ethnic Tajiks, whom President Vladimir Putin described as “radical Islamists.” The gunmen were caught as they tried to flee across the border into Ukraine. The US and the EU have insisted that Kiev had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the attack,but offered no evidence for their claim that ISIS-K was the sole culprit.

 

Russian intelligence and law enforcement have since discovered evidence that the suspects received a substantial amount of cryptocurrency from Ukraine as payment for the attack.A person allegedly involved in financing the attack has been detained, but the Investigative Committee has not made his or her identity public yet.

She worked with the Election Integrity Partnership, a CISA-backed censorship consortium, to systematically monitor, track, and censor entire belief systems at scale in the months before, during, and after the election.

 

What did they censor?

 

They silenced the discussions that the First Amendment was created to protect, including the debate on the integrity of mass mail-in voting, early voting, ballot dropboxes, and voting machines.

 

Since 2013, U.S. taxpayers have funded Starbird's work on censoring American citizens.

 

She held positions as the director of the University of Washington’s Center for an Informed Public, a board member of CISA’s “disinformation” subcommittee, and a founding partner of the EIP.

 

In her 2018 Facebook post, Starbird claimed Trump's “nationalism” and "patriotism" actually stood for “white supremacy," as she encouraged her followers to vote Democrat.

 

During the 2020 election, Starbird and the EIP claimed every "repeat spreader of election misinformation" happened to be a Trump supporter.

 

This undoubtedly influenced America's public consciousness as millions of social media posts were flagged by a highly partisan CISA-backed censorship operation intended to remove Trump from power.

 

When 60 Minutes featured Starbird this week, they portrayed her as an objective, non-partisan "leader of a misinformation research group."

 

They must have missed her Facebook post where she urged her followers to vote Democrat to stop the "rise of fascism and white nationalism."

 

"If we can't stop it here, it won't be stopped," she emphasized. "Your children's lives depend upon it."

 

"We are facing a wholly different kind of threat."

The Ukraine conflict is only one part of a wider stand-off between Russia and the West, which seeks tocontain Moscow at all costs, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

 

In an interview with Izvestia published on Friday, Lavrov stated that after the Western-backed coup in Kiev in 2014, the newUkrainian authorities unleashed “a war… against their own people” in Donbass.

 

The hostilities, the minister said, were only stopped by the now-defunct Minsk agreements, which were designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state.

 

The ensuing governments of both ex-Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko and VladimirZelensky cracked down on the Russian language and culture, introducing stringent restrictions targeting its use in all aspects of life, according to Lavrov.

 

Moscow repeatedly urged Kiev’s backers in the West to condemn and halt the discriminatory policies, which also violate Ukraine’s constitution, but “not one of the Western countries that are now shielding Ukrainefrom all accusations has ever publicly condemned these absolutely illegal actions,”he insisted.

 

“The only explanation is that Ukraine is the tip of the iceberg. And that the declared goal of the West is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.”

 

Lavrov added that in practice this implies that those who do the West’s biddingwhen it comes to this mission, “are allowed to do anything, including direct support for… Nazism. It is sad”.

 

On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukraine conflict could have been easily avoided if the West had taken Moscow’s security interests into account. However, thoseinterests “were completely ignored” as NATO moved closer to Russia’s bordersby incorporating Eastern European states and former Soviet republics, Putin added.

 

The Russian president has also repeatedly said that the main goals of Moscow’s military campaign in Ukraine are to “denazify” and “demilitarize” the neighboring state, as well as protecting the population of Donbass from Kiev’s attacks. The two Donbass republics, along with two other former Ukrainian regions, overwhelmingly voted to join Russia in the autumn of 2022.

Pentagon offers to fund ‘peacekeeping force’ in Gaza – Politico

Israel is reportedly standing in the way of discussions on post-war planning in the Palestinian enclave

 

The US has offered funding to partners in the Middle East for a peacekeeping force in Gaza, which would police the Palestinian enclave after the hostilities with Israel are over, Politico reported on Thursday.

 

Gaza has been left devastated after five months of Israeli bombardment and siege, and according to aid groups is on the brink of famine. West Jerusalem is seeking to obliterate Palestinian armed group Hamas, which staged an incursion from the enclave into southern Israel in October, killing around 1,200 people and capturing scores of hostages. Over 32,600 people have been killed in Gaza since, according to Palestinian health officials.

 

While it remains unclear when the fighting in Gaza will end, the US has been engaging regional partners to discuss how the situation might look the “day after” the war.

 

Washington has offered to pay for a “peacekeeping force” that would not include US soldiers and could be led by Palestinians, four official sources, including two from the Pentagon, told Politico. Arab nations want a clear commitment to a Palestinian state as part of the resolution, the outlet noted. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed not to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

“Israel is the long pole in the tent,” an anonymous military official told Politico. “It would be one thing if the [US] administration and the Israeli government were aligned on the way ahead, but that is just not the case.”

 

The rift between Washington and the Jewish state has become increasingly evident. Earlier this week, the US allowed a resolution urging for an immediate ceasefire to pass at the UN Security Council. Washington abstained in the vote, unlike during numerous previous attempts, when it vetoed proposed documents with the same wording.

 

Earlier in March, US Senate leader Chuck Schumer said in the chamber that Netanyahu “has lost his way by allowing his political survival to take precedence over the best interests of Israel.” The remark was rebuked by Israel and the Republican Congressional leadership, although President Joe Biden said his key ally had delivered “a good speech.”

A WIRED investigation uncovered coordinates collected by a controversial data broker that reveal sensitive information about visitors to an island once owned by Epstein, the notorious sex offender.

 

Nearly 200 mobile devices of people who visited Jeffrey Epstein’s notorious “pedophile island” in the years prior to his death left an invisible trail of data pointing back to their own homes and offices. Maps of these visitations generated by a troubled international data broker with defense industry ties, discovered last week by WIRED, document the numerous trips of wealthy and influential individuals seemingly undeterred by Epstein’s status as a convicted sex offender.

 

The data amassed by Near Intelligence, a location data broker roiled by allegations of mismanagement and fraud, reveals with high precision the residences of many guests of Little Saint James, a United States Virgin Islands property where Epstein is accused of having groomed, assaulted, and trafficked countless women and girls.

 

Some girls, prosecutors say, were as young as 14. The former attorney general of the US Virgin Islands alleged that girls as young as 12 were trafficked to Epstein by those within his elite social circle.

 

The coordinates that Near Intelligence collected and left exposed online pinpoint locations to within a few centimeters of space. Visitors were tracked as they moved from the Ritz-Carlton on neighboring St. Thomas Island, for instance, to a specific dock at the American Yacht Harbor—a marina once co-owned by Epstein that hosts an “impressive array” of pleasure boats and mega-yachts. The data pinpointed their movements as they were transported to Epstein’s dock on Little St. James, revealing the exact routes taken to the island.

 

The tracking continued after they arrived. From inside Epstein's enigmatic waterfront temple to the pristine beaches, pools, and cabanas scattered across his 71-acres of prime archipelagic real estate, the data compiled by Near captures the movements of scores of people who sojourned at Little St. James as early as July 2016. The recorded surveillance concludes on July 6, 2019—the day of Epstein’s final arrest.

Eleven years earlier, the disgraced financier was sentenced to 18 months in jail after a guilty plea in 2008 for soliciting and procuring a minor engaged in prostitution, securing a secret “sweetheart” deal to avoid any federal charges. Renewed interest in the case, notably prompted by a Miami Herald investigation, spawned new charges against Epstein, who was apprehended at New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport in July 2019. Maxwell was arrested in New Hampshire, tracked to a million-dollar home by federal agents using location data pulled from her cell phone.

 

Little is known publicly about Epstein’s activities in the decade prior to his 2019 arrest. The majority of women who came forward that year to accuse the convicted pedophile in court say they were assaulted in the ’90s and early 2000s.

New NATO member admits US pact ‘restricts sovereignty’

A military agreement with Washington comes at a cost, Helsinki has acknowledged

 

A new military cooperation deal agreed with Washington will limit Helsinki’s sovereignty, the Finnish Foreign Ministry said on Thursday, advising that its ratification will therefore require a two-thirds majority in the parliament.

 

Finland joined NATO in April 2023, abandoning a decades-long policy of neutrality. It began negotiating a Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA) with the US almost immediately, and signed it last December.

 

A working group led by the Foreign Ministry was set up to draft the ratification protocols which were formally sent to the country's parliament for comments on Thursday, the ministry announced.

 

“The working group concludes that the DCA wouldrestrict Finland’s sovereignty, which is why Parliament’s acceptance of the agreement would require a two-thirds majority of the votes cast,” the ministry press release said. The parliament has until May 12 to comment on the draft proposal. (They better reject it.)

 

The DCA gives the American military access to 15 bases in Finland and allows thedeployment of military equipment and supplieson Finnish territory, as well as thefree movement of US aircraft, ships, and vehicles. Members of the US military and the facilities they use would alsoget special legal protections.

 

When the DCA was signed, Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hakkanen saidit was “a guarantee from the world’s largest military power that they will defend us.”(are you freaking kidding me, the US military can’t even defend us)

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin responded by saying that Helsinki previously enjoyed cordial relations with Moscow and had no disputes, territorial or otherwise, but chose to side with the US-led bloc anyway.

 

“There was no trouble. Now there will be,”Putin said in December. “We will now create the Leningrad Military District and concentrate certain military units there.”

Anyone who has ever operated a paper punch machine knows that hanging chads are created when too many sheets (cards) are being punched and the bottom few are not evenly pucnched all the way around and remain on the card. The hanging chad was evidence of election fraud.

But the media seemed to miss that vital point of the story. They claimed not counting those chads was the election fraud.
