Shark Tank star Kevin O'Leary sparked a heated reaction from CNN hosts after claiming Kamala Harris was not democratically nominated.

 

During a fiery panel discussion on Thursday, the investor - who has a net worth of $400 million - drew a parallel between stock picking and the selection process for the Democrat presidential nominee.

 

In stock picking, fund managers get paid millions to pick stocks they believe will succeed. But despite their lofty reputations, they mostly deliver lower returns than those who simply put money into a fund that tracks the stock market.

 

For his analogy, O'Leary likened these fund managers to the small group of senior Democratic leaders who anointed Harris. At the same time, the broader stock market symbolized the millions of ordinary Democrats across the country who would normally select the candidate via primaries.

 

'In stock picking, 88 percent of managers cannot beat the S&P 500 year in year out,' O'Leary said. 'So you give them $1,000, the S&P beats them. They can't pick stocks.'

 

'This is the second time the Democratic party has circumvented democracy and chosen [a presidential candidate],' he said.

BREAKING: The 5th Circuit Court just ruled that ballots MUST be received by Election Day and any state laws that allow them to be received and counted after Election Day violate federal law

 

THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING. I kid you not.

 

"Congress statutorily designated a singular "day for the election" of members of Congress and the appointment of presidential electors. Text, precedent, and historical practice confirm this "day for the election" is the day by which ballots must be both cast by voters and received by state officials. Because Mississipppi's statute allows ballot receipt up to five days after the federal election day, it is preemted by federal law. We reverse the district court's contrary judgment and remand for further proceedings."

 

Because this is a decision by one of the highest courts in the nation, it impacts elections EVERYWHERE.

Kamala Harris's rambling 'word salad' speeches may be a symptom of a little-known but common psychological condition called logorrhoea — also known as verbal diarrhoea.

 

The US Vice President, who was endorsed by Joe Biden after he bowed out of the presidential race on Sunday, is known for her jumbled, sometimes incoherent speaking style.

 

Some of her most infamous speeches have included ones about the 'significance of the passage of time' and the 'need to get to go and need to be able to get where you need to go'.

 

A baffling anecdote about falling out of a coconut tree has also been a rich resource for internet meme-makers, and a study that analysed Ms Harris's speech during a vice presidential debate concluded that 'social factors' were the most likely cause of her 'word salad' rambling.

 

Ratu Annisa of the University of North Sumatra said: 'The causes of the speech errors made by Kamala Harris are social factors, both situational anxiety and social circumstances.'

 

A 2009 study of the condition in Spain found the risk of logorrhoea was linked to level of schooling.

 

Those with lower educational achievement were more likely to 'speak in circles'.

 

It can be a symptom of anxiety or over-confidence, but logorrhoea can be no laughing matter — and may indicate a brain injury, autism or serious condition, although there is no indication that Ms Harris suffers from these conditions.

Logorrhoea is also associated with laughing wildly at random moments, something Ms Harris has become known for, with Donald Trump even nicknaming her 'Laughin' Kamala'.

 

American behavioural specialist Gregg Levoy wrote in a blog on Psychology Today that for people who ramble on and on, speech can become 'a barrier rather than a connector'.

 

He wrote: 'It's easy to dismiss them as merely narcissistic, but this is immensely hard to undo and not necessarily their fault.

 

'It's a holdover from that original egocentric stage around one or two years old, when children naturally feel grandiose and at the centre of the universe.'

 

But logorrhoea is also a common frontal lobe deficit that many traumatic brain injury survivors suffer, and is linked to several serious psychiatric and neurological disorders.

 

These include schizophrenia, lesions on the brain, damage to areas of the brain that deal with language, and ADHD.

I am a strong supporter of SpaceX. Also a very experienced and accurate war correspondant/researcher covering food, energy, weaponized migration, information, and other “things war.” SpaceX at Boca Chica happens to be on the Mexico border. Vance town hall: In the middle of a televised town hall hosted by NewsNation in Detroit, Mr. Vance took an unexpected call from Mr. Trump, who asked the senator: “How brilliant is Donald Trump?”

 

Brown gets support: Sam Brown, the Republican candidate for Senate in Nevada, is receiving late support from the main outside group that spends on behalf of the Republican Party in Senate races. He has struggled to gain traction against Senator Jacky Rosen, the Democratic incumbent.

Lebanon Expresses Outrage After Israeli Warplanes Strike Group Of Journalists: 'War Crime'

 

Lebanon has accused Israel of committing a war crime after a group of journalists in south Lebanon came under attack by Israeli warplanes. Three journalists were killed during an air raid on a hotel or guesthouse in Hasbaya, about 50km south of Beirut and near the Syrian border.

 

BBC is reporting that "The attack was carried out on a guesthouse in a compound in Hasbaya being used by more than a dozen journalists from at least seven media organizations - with a courtyard containing cars clearly marked with 'press'.

Israeli official to NBC: Strikes not targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities or oil fields

Israel is not striking Iranian nuclear facilities or oil fields and is focusing on military targets, NBC cites an unnamed Israeli official as saying.

 

“We’re targeting things that might have threatened us in the past or could do in the future,” the official is quoted saying.

Gates tried to claim that the Dutch court had no jurisdiction over him. Last week, the court ruled that it did.
