Ellen DeGeneres’s new home in England has flooded.

 

The former talk show host and her wife, Portia de Rossi, recently bought a house in the Cotswolds, which is around a two-hour drive from London. She moved to England after Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidental election.

 

The flood was caused by Storm Bert in the U.K., which featured days of torrential rain and wind speeds of up to 80mph. During the storm, the River Thames broke its banks, which happened to be right next to DeGeneres’s and de Rossi’s 43-acre property.

 

“The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I have seen it in years,” a local resident told The Mail about the aftermath of the storm.

 

The couple’s move was first confirmed byPeople when a source told the outlet that she began house-hunting in October. “Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October,” the source told the outlet. “She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after.”

This Press Release today, is in Response to our Appointed Clerk and Recorder, Thomas Toller’s comments, regarding the Protest and Demonstration here, at the Street Corner, near the Election Office on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. PRESS RELEASE 11-26-24 The citizens of Shasta County are currently being disenfranchised.

 

The US Supreme Court in 1915 (US vs Mosley)1 concluded that we not only have the right to cast a vote, but to have that vote counted accurately. Shasta County did not follow the user manual provided by Hart InterCivic (Verity Ballot Printing Guidelines, pg 33) and as a result a printing error on live ballots occurred. One out of two ballots are being rejected and must be duplicated. California Voting System Standards are not being met in Shasta County. The voting system (Hart InterCivic) as it is currently utilized, has a misfeed rate (rejection rate) of approximately 250 ballots for every 500 ballots scanned, or 250/500. This far exceeds the State Voting System Standards set forth by the Secretary of State, that allow for no more than 1 misfeed per 500 ballots scanned, or 1/500.2 The duplication process is conducted in private with no meaningful observation.

 

The process is complicated and lacks a clear workflow. Most concerningly, the duplication process is done without maintaining chain of custody, and observers are not permitted to look over the shoulder of the individual creating the duplicate ballot3, nor are they able to look over the shoulder of the individual double-checking the accuracy of the duplicated ballot.

 

AB969 provided for cases such as ours by creating a new law, Ca EC 15270.3, which states that an “elections official may conduct a manual vote count in the event of a natural disaster or other state of emergency in which use of a certified voting system is not feasible.

We insist that a 100% manual hand count be conducted to ensure accuracy and transparency in Shasta County’s elections. Georgian PM promises ‘no Maidan’

Irakli Kobakhidze has blamed “EU politicians and their agents” for violent protests in the country.

 

Georgia will not allow a scenario similar to Ukraine’s Maidan to happen, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has vowed.

 

He referred to theunconstitutional Western-backed coup in Kiev a decade ago, which ousted Ukraine’s democratically elected president, triggered hostilities throughout the country and led to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

 

“Unlike Ukraine in 2013,Georgia is an independent state with strong institutions and, most importantly, experienced and wise people. The Maidan scenario cannot be realized in Georgia. Georgia is a sovereign state and will not allow this,” Kobakhidze said at a briefing on Saturday, as cited by the News Georgia outlet.

 

According to the premier, much like the Maidan coup, the current violent unrest in Georgia is theresult of interferencein the country’s internal affairsby EU politicians and their agents. (NGO's)

Film and TV businesses started by celebrities have raised lots of money. What’s missing are profits

 

Hollywood production companies that sprouted during the past decade to serve the growing demands of streaming services are struggling as those services cut back on production and scrutinize budgets. This market correction has impacted everyone – from the world’s largest entertainment companies, which have cut staff, to prop houses, real estate developers and the independents like SpringHill.

“The entertainment market shift in 2022/2023 toward profitability brought rising costs, slower buyer decisions, and impacts from industry strikes, prompting us to recalibrate, including writing off underperforming projects to position ourselves for future growth,” SpringHill Chief Executive Officer Maverick Carter said via email, adding that the company is expected to exceed projections this year.

SpringHill recently agreed to a merger with Fulwell 73, the British production outfit behind The Kardashians and the Grammy Awards, a deal that will give the combined company more scale during a challenging business environment. The company, which will have 250 employees, is aiming to be profitable by the end of next year, following a round of staff cuts.

The numbers also highlight the challenges specific to celebrity-backed production companies. These startups were able to raise money at inflated valuations relative to their business fundamentals and have since struggled to live up to the lofty expectations.

James is a trailblazer among athletes. He started a media enterprise while still playing at the highest level, inspiring peers such as Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant to do the same. Carter, James’ longtime friend and business partner, runs the business day to day.

They produced films and TV shows, ran a marketing company, sold apparel and started Uninterrupted, which produces their talk show The Shop. In 2020, James and Carter combined all of their media businesses under SpringHill, named for the apartment complex where James grew up in Akron, Ohio.

SpringHill succeeded where many other celebrity-backed ventures did not. While James is the company’s chairman, most of what they produce doesn’t involve him being in front of the camera. Save for the occasional appearance on The Shop, or a starring role in basketball-themed projects like Space Jam and the Netflix docuseries Starting 5, James is still focused on playing ball. Carter has earned the respect of the business community and sits on the board of concert giant Live Nation.

“We built this business with LeBron, not around him,” Carter said, adding that James “remains deeply engaged in driving the vision and mission he helped shape, focusing more actively on certain passion projects.”

James’ involvement helped the company raise $15 million from Warner Bros. in 2015. In 2020, the pair raised $100 million from investors including Guggenheim Partners and Elisabeth Murdoch. A year later, they added RedBird, Nike and the owners of the Boston Red Sox to their investor group in a deal valuing the business at $725 million. So far, two of the bot's three predictions have turned to be true. Times Now couldn't verify the influencer's claims or the bot's working.

According to Keemstar the webot was developed by Cliff High and could collect data to predict stocks.

In 2009, it predicted Trump featuring on the Joe Rogan podcast, adding that there will be a UFO war 39 days after his appearance - which is December 3, 2024.

 

"In 1997 Cliff High developed a Webot software that would collect data from the internet to predict the future for the stock market.

The neo-liberal French government is likely headed toward collapse this week after Marine Le Pen’s National Rally confirmed that it would join with the left on a motion of no confidence after Prime Minister Michel Barnier attempted to push through financial austerity measures through without a vote in the parliament.

 

After weeks of negotiations, Prime Minister Michel Barnier turned to a controversial legal loophole in the French constitution, article 49.3, which allows his government to pass through effective cuts to social security benefits without a vote in the National Assembly.

 

Barnier, the former EU Brexit negotiator, was installed in the Hôtel Matignon as PM by President Emmanuel Macron in September following a three-way split in the parliament after Macron’s disastrous decision to call for snap legislative elections in July following his party’s drubbing to Marine Le Pen’s Rassemblement National (RN) party in the EU elections in June.

 

The centrist establishment Les Républicains politician was pitched as a steady hand to steer the French state through the country’s deep political divide and the looming debt crisis, which threatens to see EU funding cut unless fiscal reforms are implemented. In total, Barnier has called for 60 billion euros ($63 billion) in tax hikes and spending cuts in his contentious budget.

 

Appearing before the National Assembly at the Palais Bourbon on Monday, Barnier said per Le Figaro that he had “reached the end of the dialogue” and therefore said that he would turn to deploying article 49.3 to push through a measure to delay inflation adjustments to social security payments to seniors, a move which his government has claimed would save the country around €4 billion, but which opponents argue puts undue cost on the elderly.

 

Immediately after Barnier’s statement, leader of the far-left La France Insoumise party — the main force within the leftist New Popular Front (NFP) political alliance, Mathilde Panot announced a measure to censure the government.

The concern I would have about privatizing ATC is that the motivations of private enterprise are not the same as government entities. Generally speaking a company is motivated to keep the highest difference between revenue and costs, while a government enterprise can be focused on delivering the service up to the full amount of the budget without having to hold anything back. The history of privatization in the US of government functions does not give me a lot of confidence.

As an American ATC I've very against privatization. We put up with so much because we are promised a good pension, an early retirement age, and good benefits. All of that is at risk if the ATO is privatized. The argument that other countries like Canada does it fine, and not to downplay them, but every other country in the world works significantly less traffic than the US. It would also be very disheartening to see a higher bar set on GA flying given that pilot training in the US is already expensive. If users have to pay a fee for service we'd see much less things like VFR flight following which makes things less safe, we can't do anything about traffic we're not talking to. NATCA, the atc union, would become much less powerful, and overall I see the quality of life of controllers dropping further. The FAA is far from perfect, but they've been running the most complex, busiest airspace in the world for half a century, there would be compromises to safety, controllers, or both if they are privatized imo.

I remember the first time he was in office, he said he wanted to do something about the way navigation works in terms of actual hardware. That would be cool if it worked, it would reduce the workload of both pilots and controllers, at least theoretically. Sometimes I watch your accident analysis videos and I'm dumbfounded by how many different systems in the plane AND on the ground that a crew has to interact with during a typical flight.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has postponed until further notice the World Friendship Games, seen as Moscow's alternative to the Olympic Games and originally meant to take place this year, according to a Kremlin decree published Monday.

 

The competition — widely seen as Russia's response to being banned from the Paris Olympics due to its invasion of Ukraine — was meant to take place in Yekaterinburg this September but in the summer postponed until an unspecified date in 2025.

 

The decree Monday said that the World Friendship Games were postponed "until a special decision" by the Russian president.

 

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) had called the Friendship Games a "cynical attempt to politicize sport" and called on countries not to participate.

“During the meeting, which was warm and friendly, we discussed many topics, including the steadfast friendship between Israel and the United States and the importance of continuing to nurture the unique bond between our nations,” she wrote in an Instagram post in English and in Hebrew.

 

“I also brought to the President’s attention the immense suffering Israel endured on October 7th and the inhumanity of Hamas terrorists holding our citizens hostage under harsh conditions. I emphasized the urgent need to act for their release and swift return,” she said.

“This individual’s actions were taken without the knowledge or direction of anyone at TAC and are wholly inconsistent with our professional and ethical standards,” the company wrote.

Calls to the Obama campaign about Mr. Brennan were not returned.

Mr. McCormack said yesterday there was a fourth person who breached the passport records, although he described it as a case of inadvertance. He said a passport office trainee last year was learning how to work with passport electronic records and searched for Mrs. Clinton’s file as a test, but was “immediately admonished, and it didn’t happen again.”

Working-level supervisors confronted the three employees after a computer alarm system was triggered by the effort to access Mr. Obama’s records.

“What didn’t happen is that that information didn’t rise up to senior management levels, so that we could be made aware of it. That should have happened,” Mr. McCormack said.

If senior officials were alerted to the intrusions, additional safeguards would have been used to protect the data, Mr. McCormack said.

Officials said the computer alarm that was set off includes a notification mechanism that should have alerted State’s inspector general. However, it is not clear whether the IG reviewed the improper computer activities, the officials said.

Acting Inspector General William E. Todd and the chief IG branch investigator, James B. Burch, a former U.S. Secret Service agent, are leading the passport probe, which began Thursday. Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey said his department was no reason yet to investigate.

Miss Rice and Mr. Kennedy did not learn of the breaches of Mr. Obama’s personal data until The Times e-mailed questions about the security breaches on Thursday.

“As soon as we realized that there were these unauthorized accesses for Senator Obama’s passport files, we collected the information, we briefed the secretary, we briefed Senator Obama’s staff, all before we ever replied to the reporter,” Mr. McCormack said.

“Then we replied to the reporter, and then we all talked to the rest of you as the questions came in,” he said.

It’s estimated that 25 to 30 million illegally immigrants currently reside in the United States. That number alone should provoke thought. Now imagine what would happen if even half of the 30 million illegally immigrants in this country decided to resist deportation.

I just had a very productive meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, where we discussed many important topics that will require both Countries to work together to address, like the Fentanyl and Drug Crisis that has decimated so many lives as a result of Illegal Immigration, Fair Trade Deals that do not jeopardize American Workers, and the massive Trade Deficit the U.S. has with Canada. I made it very clear that the United States will no longer sit idly by as our Citizens become victims to the scourge of this Drug Epidemic, caused mainly by the Drug Cartels, and Fentanyl pouring in from China. Too much death and hardship! Prime Minister Trudeau has made a commitment to work with us to end this terrible devastation of U.S. Families. We also spoke about many other important topics like Energy, Trade, and the Arctic. All are vital issues that I will be addressing on my first days back in Office, and before.

Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, who was ejected from Sunday's game for a controversial hit on Trevor Lawrence that ignited a firestorm, has apologized to the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback but is attacking some fans and media.

 

Al-Shaair posted his thoughts about the incident on X Monday morning. Azeez Al-Shaair Addresses Incident: The note from the NFL veteran starts off in a contrite tone.And then it kind of goes off the rails in defiance and victimhood.

 

"I've always played the game as hard as I could," Al-Shaair begins. "Never with the intent to harm anyone and anybody that knows me knows that. My goal is to hit you as hard as I can then I pray you're still able to get up and play the next play.

 

"And when the game is over go home to your family unharmed because it's not personal it's just competition! We both are trying to do the same thing which is provide for our families!"

After his questionable hit that included him leading with his elbow and forearm, Al-Shaair was immediately pushed down from behind by Jaguars tight end Evan Engram and a melee broke out.Players from both teams faced off, pushing and shoving, because of the hit.

Al-Shaair Calls Fans ‘Islamophobic’ So Al-Shaair addresses those Jaguars players. "To the rest of his teammates I can definitely understand you having his back and defending him in a situation like that," Al-Shaair writes.

 

And now this gets a little angry and accusatory and, frankly, it's Al-Shaair in his feelings, painting himself as attacked by the public."To the rest of the people who I've been called every single name in the book from reporters with their hands ready for a story to find their villian, to racist and islamophobic fans and people, you don't know my heart nor my character which I don't need to prove to any of you," Al-Shaair writes.

Al-Shaair Subject Of Online Wrath

To be fair, Al-Shaair has been subjected to some serious online wrath. Some of the revulsion toward him has included charges he supports the terrorist organization Hamas, of which there is no proof so far.

 

That came after Al-Shaair was wearing so-called "Free Palestine" cleats that signal his involvement in the NFL's My Cause My Cleats campaign. Al-Shaair's cleats are meant to raise funds for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, but the wording on them clearly signal his allegiance to people opposing Israel and quotes statistics of them killed in the Israel-Hamas war.

Al-Shaair obviously got no guidance in writing this statement on Monday because it is both an apology followed by an attack of his own.He shows contrition to Lawrence, understands Jacksonville teammates defending him, and then attacks the media and fans. Playing the "rascist" and ‘islamaphobic" card probably isn’t going to earn Al-Shaair much sympathy in many circles.

Al-Shaair faces an NFL suspension for his actions on the field and his history of similar questionable play tactics, OutKick first reported on Sunday.

Following the news Sunday evening that Joe Biden had pardoned his son

Hunter, Sequoia partner Shaun Maguire claimed in a bombshell series of posts on X that the younger Biden had once tried to pay back rent for a property his family owns in California with “art made from his own feces.”

 

Maguire said renting to Hunter “was a big mistake” andcalled him an “absolute shit bag.”

 

The venture capitalist revealed that thedeadbeat still owed his family $300,000 in back rentfor the Venice, California, home he lived in from 2019 to 2020.

 

After hearing that Biden pardoned his son for all crimes he may have committed spanning 11 years, Maguire posted on X: “So what happens to the $300k+ in back pay rent that Hunter Biden owes my family from 2019-2020? Is that pardoned now? Thanks Joe.”

 

In a subsequent post, he explained : “True story. Hunter was our tenant in Venice, CA. Didn’t pay rent for over a year.Tried to pay w/ art made from his own feces. Absolute shit bag.”

 

When asked to elaborate, Maguire responded:“Indeed, he tried to pay w/ a book of art made from his own feces. But those aren’t worth anything except when money laundering.”

 

Maguire also claimed that he has “lots of proof” in regards to the pictures.

 

Not long after Joe Biden took office in 2021, Hunter partnered with a Manhattan gallery where he sold his more conventional paintings to mainly Democrat donors for exorbitant prices.The rent for the Venice home in 2019, according to Maguire, was $25,000 a month.

 

When asked whether his family had tried to evict Hunter, Maguire responded: “It’s kind of a scary family to go after.”

 

He explained thatHunter “changed the locks and used secret service to enforce” and that his family ended up having “no access to the property.”

 

In response to an X user who commented “if those walls could talk,” Maguire wrote:“the walls were too high on cocaine to talk.”

A union group called Isotita (Equality) that represents public sector workers is calling for Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “rapid tests” to be suspended from use after it was discovered that the swabs contain ethylene oxide, a toxic substance.

 

The Cyprus-based union says that current requirements mandating testing every 72 hours be immediately discontinued in order to protect the health of workers who are constantly being exposed to the toxin.

 

The European Chemicals Agency (ECA) says that ethylene oxide, which is used to coat and sterilize both the fraudulent PCR and rapid tests for the Chinese Virus, is toxic, mutagenic and carcinogenic when inhaled.

 

Since the tainted swabs are being jammed up people’s nasal cavities, sometimes multiple times per week, ethylene oxide is almost certainly being inhaled and potentially planting the seeds of chronic disease.

 

“Ethylene oxide is a gas commonly used to sterilise many different types of medical devices, including swabs used in test kits,” reported the Cyprus Mail.

 

“Ethylene oxide (EtO) gas sterilisers have been used by hospitals for over 40 years to sterilise surgical equipment and supplies that are heat sensitive or that cannot tolerate excessive moisture.”

 

In the European Union, ethylene oxide is prohibited in food production, and under EU Regulation No. 2015/868, the highest amount allowed in residue is specified at 0.05 mg/kg.

 

In Fauci Flu rapid tests, however, the amount of ethylene oxide detected is around 0.36 mg/kg, more than six times the allowable level under current government guidelines.

 

Even trace amounts of ethylene oxide far lower than what’s found in rapid tests cause cancer

 

The media network Pronews TV also ran a special on the tainted rapid tests, noting that highly toxic swabs are being repeatedly inserted into people’s nasal cavities where the deadly substance is being implanted.

 

Back in August, health authorities ordered a recall on foodstuffs that were found to contain lower levels of ethylene oxide than what is contained in the swabs. Based on this, the rapid tests also need to be recalled and immediately discontinued from use.

 

The EU government claimed that the levels of ethylene oxide found in food pose no danger to human health because the amounts are too small to cause problems, “however based on scientific studies it is assessed that frequent consumption on a long-term basis, even with trace amounts of ethylene oxide, increases the risk of developing cancer,” reports explain.

 

Current EU standards state that a food product can be recalled from the market “even where a single ingredient in the foodstuff is shown to be tainted with ethylene oxide at the lowest level detectable, including where the ingredient in question comprises the smallest part of the foodstuff percentage-wise.”

Ukrainians could disappear – top Kiev expert

No one of the ethnicity will remain in the world in about six generations, a renowned medical specialist has said

 

The Ukrainian ethnos could be extinct in less than two centuries, Olga Bogomolets, a renowned Ukrainian medical expert, warned this week.

Extremely low birth rates and high mortality could lead to the nationality’s demise in about 180 years, she said. Bogomolets holds a post-doctoral degree in medicine, as well as the title ‘distinguished physician of Ukraine’.

 

According to the expert, the nation is facing an “insane, catastrophic” rise in mortality rates combined with a continued decline in the number of newborns.

 

“If this model persists, without even taking into account the war-associated losses and emigration…With just such a birth rate and mortality, the Ukrainian nation will be reduced to nothing in 180 years,” Bogomolets told the Vechir.Live show, which aired on YouTube.

 

The country has only six generations’ time to reverse the trend, the health professional warned. Otherwise, “zero [Ukrainians] will remain,” she said, adding that the territory of Ukraine would be inhabited by some other people “who will no longer be Ukrainians.”

 

The conflict with Moscow has taken a heavy toll. Ukrainianmilitary losses alone have amounted to more than half a million since February 2022, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.Around 6.6 million people had fled the countryas of July 2024, according to German data aggregator Statista.

 

The Ukrainian media has reported that thecountry’s population could have fallen by a whopping 10 million over almost three years of fighting, considering both conflict-linked losses and emigration. A quarter of Ukrainians who fled abroad alsohave no interest in going back,the news outlets said.

 

The World Health Organization (WHO)currently estimates Ukraine’s population at just over 37.7 millionpeople as of 2023,down from 44.3 million in 2021 and almost 50 million in 2000. The international body saysthat number was in steady decline even before the conflict with Russia, and is projected to fall further to less than 32 million by 2050.

 

In October, Florence Bauer, the Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), described the situation in Ukraine as a“demographic crisis,” explaining that “the birth rate plummeted to one child per woman – the lowest fertility rate in Europe and one of the lowest in the world.”

 

She added that the nation’s population haddeclined by over 10 million since the start of the 2014 crisis following the Maidan coup in Kiev.

Macron to blame for France’s failures in Africa – MEP

Paris has lost almost all of its footholds on the continent, Thierry Mariani has said

 

Chad’s termination of a military agreement with France and Senegal’s impending expulsion of French troops is a “catastrophe” for President Emmanuel Macron’s foreign policy, Thierry Mariani, a member of the European Parliament, has said in an interview with RIA Novosti on Monday.

 

Mariani stated that Paris has lost almost all of its footholds in Africa during the seven years of “illusory influencer” Macron’s presidency.

 

“No one has done as much damage in the last 40 years as Macron. If he wants to do France a favor, he should resign as soon as possible”, the French politician said.

 

Last week,Chadian Foreign Minister Abderaman Koulamallah announced the Central African nation’s decision to cancel a defense cooperation treaty signed with France in 2019. The decision came just hours after Koulamallah met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot in the landlocked state’s capital, N’Djamena.

 

On Sunday, Chad’s president, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, told reporters that the agreement, which had sought to strengthen security ties between the two countries, had become “completely obsolete.”

 

“It no longer corresponded to the security, geopolitical, and strategic realities of our time, nor to our legitimate expectations regarding the full expression of our sovereignty,” Mahamat Deby said in a speech published by local outlet Alwihda Info.

 

The move makes Chad the latest African state to end military partnership with Paris amid a wave of anti-French sentiment in former colonies in recent years. Its neighborsBurkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have expelled French troops for allegedly failing to quell a deadly jihadist insurgency in the Sahel region.

 

The three West African states have sought alternative alliances, including forging closer security tieswith Russia. Chadian political analyst Evariste N’Garlem Tolde previously told RT that the French army has failed in combating rebel groups responsible for violence in the country. Paris already has a base in the country with around 1,000 troops.

 

Senegal’s government is also seeking the closure of all French army bases. On Thursday, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye stated in an interview with Le Monde that“there will soon be no more French troops in Senegal” without specifying when the withdrawal will take place.

 

He is also cited as telling AFP thatthe French army bases are “incompatible” with the West African country’s sovereignty. France currently has 350 soldiers stationed in Senegal but plans to reduce the contingent to 100 as part of a broader military reconfiguration.

 

According to Thierry Mariani,“what happened with Chad is tragic; it’s 50 years of friendship that are over.

 

The same with Senegal. It is a disaster for our foreign policy, and it is Macron’s fault.He has shown endless contempt for African leaders”.

 

Last year, a group of French lawmakers wrote to Macron expressing their dissatisfaction with France’s African policy failures, which they claim have resulted in deteriorating relations between former colonies.

Zelensky dismisses idea of territory for NATO deal

The arrangement would require Ukraine to recognize Russian gains, the country’s leader says

 

Ukraine will not relinquish its claim to Russian territories that belonged to Kiev before 2014 as a precondition for joining NATO, Vladimir Zelensky has said.

 

Speaking at a joint press conference with new EU Council President Antonio Costa on Sunday, Zelensky reiterated that Kiev would “never legally recognize any occupation of our lands” by Russia. He was referring to Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye, which voted to join the country in a series of referendums.

 

This means that “there cannot be a NATO invitation that excludes parts of Ukraine’s territory,” he added.

 

“Such an invitation would be an automatic acknowledgment that all other [lost] territories are not just at risk, but also not Ukrainian. Ukraine will never agree to this. If there’s an invitation, it must include all territories,” he stated.

 

Kiev also understands that Article 5 of the NATO Treaty – which stipulates that an attack on a bloc’s member is an attack on all of them – “cannot fully operate during a war across Ukraine’s entire territory because countries fear being dragged into the conflict,” according to Zelensky.

 

“Ukraine has never involved anyone else in this war – by which I mean the armies of NATO member states,” he added. As for potential security guarantees for Ukraine, Zelensky claimed that it had not received any specific offers from its backers.

 

Ukraine first identified NATO membership as a strategic goal in 2019. This had been a red line for Moscow, which for years had expressed concerns about the bloc’s creeping expansion towards its borders. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Kiev’s NATO ambitions were the key reason behind the current conflict.

 

Zelensky’s comments come after he signaled last week that Kiev may be willing to agree to a ceasefire with Moscow without recapturing Ukrainian-claimed territory. He has also acknowledged that Ukraine’s army is too weak to retake its lost territories by force, adding that his country must rely on diplomacy to achieve that goal.

 

Moscow has said it is ready for dialogue over Ukraine but insisted that any settlement must recognize the territorial reality on the ground. It has also ruled out freezing the conflict, arguing that all the goals of its military operation – including Ukrainian neutrality, denazification, and demilitarization – must be achieved.

The Supreme Court this year overturned “Chevron deference” in its Loper Bright ruling, which deals a seismic blow to federal bureaucracy. Under the old standard, federal courts deferred to agency interpretations of law when a statute was deemed ambiguous. That’s no longer the case & here are some facts on the scope of its impact:

 

Lower federal courts relied upon Chevron somewhere between 17,000 - 19,000 judicial opinions.

 

A 2022 study found that federal appellate courts applied Chevron in ~85% of cases in which an agency interpretation is at stake. In ~60% of these cases, the court concluded the statute was ambiguous (Chevron Step One) and proceeded to determine whether the agency’s interpretation was reasonable (Chevron Step Two), at which point they sided with the agency 77% of the time.

 

A separate study evaluated more than 1,300 courts of appeals cases from 2003 to 2013 and found 94% deference to the agencies’ position at Chevron Step Two.

do you think the FBI can make any legitimate arrests right now? Ya, they may accidentally take down a baddie thug every once in a while…. but the amount of corruption and sedition they are ignoring (and/or covering up), puts any legitimate arrests in the wrong light.
