Despite my own longstanding interest, I admitted to being remiss and hadn’t done so. Now I have, and what I’ve discovered by just going to social media (mostly Facebook, but other open sources as well) confirms (see here; here; here; here) the rampant Anti-Americanism, Islamic supremacism, and Jew-Hate being promulgated in my own community, which I too, till just now, had ignored.

We must all open and our eyes and discuss the “mosque problem” in our midst, and through public exposure and shaming, demand this American Muslim inculcation of jihadism, and non-Muslim hatred, cease and desist.

The Russian Soyuz-FG rocket was launched in November 2018 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, carrying a Progress MS-10 (also 71P) module to bring needed supplies to the ISS. Highlights in the 90-second video (condensing about 15-minutes) include city lights and clouds visible on the Earth on the lower left, blue and gold bands of atmospheric airglow running diagonally across the center, and distant stars on the upper right that set behind the Earth. A lower stage can be seen falling back to Earth as the robotic supply ship fires its thrusters and begins to close on the ISS, a space laboratory that celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2023. Trump's Plan To End Currency War 3.0 Jan. 5, 2025. 1/2

There has been a lot reported in recent days about the return of currency wars. With Trump 2.0 about to begin, let’s review his last term and what to expect in the second.

Trump badly bungled his transition after first being elected president in 2016. He was not ready with a long list of loyal appointees… They thwarted his agenda. That backstabbing came on top of the large number of Obama holdovers in the Deep State who saw themselves as a “resistance” movement.

Trump is doing a better job of preparing for a second term as president, but the resistance is not sitting still either. As reported in The Washington Post, Politico, The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance and other outlets, Trump is working on a secret plan to devalue the U.S. dollar. The goal would be to cheapen U.S. exports and thereby help the U.S. balance of trade and create exported-related jobs.

But critics say that this will only increase U.S. inflation as Americans have to pay more for their imported goods using cheaper dollars. The critics also say that other countries will retaliate against the U.S. by cheapening their own currencies (that’s the essence of a currency war) and no country will be any further ahead. In fact, the entire world will be worse off.

Rules of (Currency) War

Before looking more closely at what’s actually going on, some basics about a currency war should be explained.

The first rule is that the world is not always in a currency war.The periods from 1944 to 1971 (the original Bretton Woods era) and from 1987 to 2010 (the period of the Washington Consensus) were times of currency peace. This contrasts with 1921-1936 (Currency War I), 1967-1987 (Currency War II), and the current period since 2010 (Currency War III).

The second rule is that when we are in a currency war, they can last for fifteen years or longer.It comes as no surprise that the currency war that commenced in 2010 is still going strong 14 years later in 2024. And that points to another key aspect of this debate.

The currency war being written about today by the media is not a new currency war. It’s the same one that has been going on since 2010. We’re simply in a new phase or a new battle.

It is true that cheapening your currency can import inflation. Sometimes that’s a legitimate policy goal if your country has been suffering from deflation. That’s obviously not the case in the U.S. today.

It’s also true that cheapening your currency can export deflation as trading partners pay less for your goods. That’s what China was doing to the entire world from 1994 to 2010 and that’s why the U.S. launched a currency war in 2010 – to fight back against disinflation and borderline deflation caused by cheap Chinese goods.

Currency wars can also shift jobs overseas and destroy domestic manufacturing as the terms of trade shift based on changing currency values. Retaliation is always waiting right around the corner in any currency war. The U.S. dollar hit an all-time low in August 2011, which was consistent with the U.S. goal of trying to import inflation.

But Europe struck back, and the EUR/USD cross-rate crashed from $1.60 to $1.04 as a result. So, it is correct that no one wins a currency war, and everyone is damaged in the process due to volatility, uncertainty, and the costs of conducting the war.

Trump’s Plan: Currency Peace

So, are the critics right that Trump has a secret plan to devalue the dollar? And are they right that this new stage in the currency war will bring inflation and hurt the U.S. economy?

In the first place, no president has the power to unilaterally devalue the dollar. That might have been possible under the gold standard or some standard of fixed exchange rates, but that has not been the state of the world since 1973.

Exchange rates fluctuate based on a number of factors including interest rates, industrial growth, exchange controls, central bank interventions, capital flows, tax rates and many other macroeconomic variables. But the idea that the president can just wave his hand and devalue the dollar is false.

Far from the reckless, inflationary process the media claim, Trump’s actual plan is based on the highly successful modeldeveloped by James Baker for Ronald Reagan and implemented in the Plaza Accord of 1985 and the Louvre Accord of 1987.

After the severe economic recession of 1982 and Paul Volcker’s policy of moving interest rates to 20%, inflation in the U.S. was finally reigned in. Inflation dropped from 13.5% in 1980, to 6.1% in 1982, and then 3.2% in 1983. Investment in the U.S. went on a tear. U.S. real growth was 16% from 1983 to 1986. Everyone wanted dollars to invest in the U.S. and the dollar boomed reaching an all-time high in 1985.

Finally, the Reagan administration decided the U.S. dollar was too strong and was hurting U.S. exports and jobs. Treasury Secretary James Baker convened a meeting of the finance ministers of France, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the U.S. at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The purpose was not to fight a currency war. The purpose was to create order in currency markets out of the chaos that had prevailed since 1973.

The parties reached a joint agreement that would devalue the U.S. dollar in an orderly fashion versus the French Franc, Japanese Yen, UK pounds sterling, and the German Deutschemark. Once the targeted level for the dollar was achieved, the parties would use their best efforts, including market intervention as needed to maintain those levels within narrow bands.

A separate meeting in Paris at the Louvre in 1987 agreed that the devaluation phase was over, and the dollar would be maintained at the new parities. This was not currency war; it was currency peace achieved by agreement and implemented in a cooperative fashion. The Louvre Accord (this time including the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Japan and Canada) ushered in a period of global prosperity that lasted twenty years until the Global Financial Crisis of 2008.

Trump’s goal is to repeat the success of the Plaza and Louvre Accords. Trump’s advisor on this is Robert Lighthizer, who is one of the most brilliant financial minds around and was Trump’s U.S. Trade Representative (2017-2021).

Lighthizer was also USTR for Ronald Reagan from 1983 to 1985 so he’s a veteran of prior currency wars and was in the administration around the time the Plaza Accord was being developed. Lighthizer is the perfect individual to help Trump achieve the kind of success that Reagan and Baker had in the 1980s.

The media are trying to portray Trump as reckless when in fact he’s proposing something highly beneficial for U.S. jobs and U.S. industry. Don’t be fooled by false claims of new currency wars.

Trump is trying to achieve a new era of currency stability and lasting prosperity.

Ghislaine Maxwell may be the last person alive who knows the answers to one of the decade’s great mysteries: how did Jeffrey Epstein amass his fortune and where is it now?

For one of the theories is that Maxwell’s father Robert bankrolled him.

When Epstein died a year ago, his visible assets added up to an extraordinary £467 million. But that was ‘only the tip of the iceberg’, according to the head of a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund who I first met at Epstein’s mansion in New York.

The question this financier could not answer was how Epstein, who he had never known to actually conclude a successful business deal, had accumulated such a tremendous fortune. Nor could any of Wall Street’s so-called ‘masters of the universe’.

I first met Epstein at a large Halloween party in Manhattan in 1987. He was bright and charming, but whatever other talents he may have possessed, they didn’t include, as far as I could see, the conventional Wall Street money-making wizardry of arbitrage – wheeling and dealing in assets, stocks or currency in the markets.

Soon afterwards, he invited me to tea at the Mayfair Hotel and told me he was a financial bounty hunter, hired to track down hidden money from notorious offshore havens such as Andorra, Fiji, Gibraltar and the Cayman Islands. This suggested to me that he might be implicated in the shady business of hiding it there in the first place.

He then demonstrated his talent for magically transforming economy-class air tickets into first-class ones.

I gave him my cheapo ticket to Spain, and he gave it back to me the next day with a first-class sticker. A free upgrade? It seemed too good to be true and, indeed, when I tried to board the flight, I was told my first-class ticket was a fake.

It turned out that Epstein had simply obtained a cache of first-class upgrade stickers, which he pasted on cheaper tickets in the hope the true price paid wouldn’t be noticed at the check-in desk. Everything about Epstein was a con. I never thought: ‘Here’s an honest guy.’

Back then, Epstein was not yet a tycoon. He lived in a one-bedroom apartment at Solow Tower at 265 East 66th Street. At the time, there was a rent strike, so he lived there without paying a cent.

On occasions he pretended he lived in the penthouse by inviting guests up to the roof garden and getting a deli to deliver food.

He also had a plush office at Villard House, which he shared with the wife of a former New York governor. The rent was paid by Steven Hoffenberg, a tall guy with dark eyes, who owned a bill-collection agency, Towers International.

I remember being impressed when Epstein introduced me to Hoffenberg because he had an armed bodyguard.

It emerged about a year later, in 1988, that he was running a £380 million Ponzi scheme [a scam promising high rates of return with little risk to investors] for which he served 18 years in prison.

The cloud around Epstein darkened further when, to show off his power, he gave me a program which allowed me to remotely access his computer via my telephone modem, which seemed technically advanced for the time.

He said I could use it to get real-time quotes on the stock market, but it also revealed that he had a cashflow problem. Not only were there letters from people demanding the return of their money, but one New York financier reported that a cheque from Epstein for $83,000 had bounced a second time.

In early 1989, Epstein and I stopped speaking. I wrote a regular column called Wall Street Babylon in the Manhattan, Inc magazine.

I didn’t mention him by name, but I was becoming increasingly wary that Epstein was a scam artist and I described the barely legal form of insider trading in which he was clearly involved. Epstein was livid and broke off all contact. Even so, I couldn’t help being intrigued by his stratospheric rise into the upper echelons of the super-rich. As I watched from the sidelines, he seemed to be nothing short of a modern-day version of F Scott Fitzgerald’s Jay Gatsby.

We had mutual friends who informed me that he had moved from his fake penthouse to an enormous mansion on 71st Street, previously owned by Victoria’s Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch tycoon Les Wexner.

By now, Epstein had also acquired a ranch outside Santa Fé, New Mexico, a private island in the Virgin Islands and an apartment on Avenue Foch in Paris that had a stuffed baby elephant in the centre of the living room.

On his private airliner, he gave former President Bill Clinton rides to Africa. Prince Andrew was another associate and I remember being fascinated that Epstein was constantly surrounded by the most beautiful women I had ever seen in my life.

Astoundingly, nothing – not even a 13-month prison sentence for pleading guilty to soliciting under-age girls in Florida – could impinge this upward trajectory into an elite world of money and power.

Then, out of the blue and after a hiatus of 24 years, Epstein called me in 2013 and invited me to his mansion. He said he wanted to ask me about Vladimir Nabokov, who wrote Lolita, about a precociously seductive girl. I had known the author many decades earlier.

I agreed to go for a different reason: finding out how he made, and continued to make, his fortune.

As a convicted felon, Epstein would not be allowed a licence to manage money. Yet, as he told me with a glistening, know-it-all smile, he was doing better than ever.

He now had homes in New York, Palm Beach, Paris and New Mexico, and he was in the process of buying a mansion in Saudi Arabia. He also had a private fleet of jets and a helicopter.

When I asked about his business, he replied: ‘I manage money for a few select clients.’

On the walls were photos of him with Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirate Prince Mohammed bin Zayed.

I asked: ‘Are these clients?’ He said some were.

‘What about Russia? Any clients there?’ He shrugged and said he often flew to Moscow to see Vladimir Putin.

I found this hard to swallow. It was implausible that such powerful world leaders would trust the management of their personal funds to a convicted sex offender.

After all, if they wanted financial wizardry, there was no shortage of well-connected investment bankers in London or New York. Some don’t ask too many inconvenient questions. So what special talent did Epstein have?

I would never find out, at least not from the horse’s mouth.

Jeffrey Epstein was found dead on the floor of his cell in July last year. His death, an apparent suicide by hanging, only deepened the mystery behind his wealth.

No one I spoke with knew for sure where his initial windfall came from. So I decided to begin at the beginning with the man Epstein introduced me to in 1987 – the Ponzi scheme fraudster Steven Hoffenberg.

I learned that one of the first things Hoffenberg did after he was released from prison in 2013 was to go uninvited to Epstein’s home and demand a large sum of money. Epstein called him crazy, and threw him out.

However, Hoffenberg’s version of events is all-too believable. He said he had been introduced to Epstein in 1987 by Douglas Leese, a London financier.

At the time, Hoffenberg was building his debt-recovery company Towers International into a billion-dollar Ponzi scheme. He needed help selling phoney securities and Leese, who had employed Epstein to do money-laundering for his clients’ schemes, recommended him for, as Hoffenberg put it, his ‘criminal mindset’.

As Hoffenberg tells it, Epstein quickly became a pivotal actor in the Ponzi scheme and got a share of the $475 million loot.

The problem with Hoffenberg’s story is that Epstein was never implicated in various investigations into Towers International.

He was never mentioned by anyone involved in the swindle, even after Hoffenberg and his associates at Towers International agreed to co-operate with investigators. Finally, it cannot be excluded that Epstein was actually telling the truth when he had said rich and powerful people found reason to consign funds to him.

An extremely savvy financier and philanthropist told me after Epstein’s death about a proposition Epstein had once made him: that he could save more than $40 million in US taxes if he gave him $100 million to manage.

Epstein claimed the money would be concealed in a maze of offshore non-profits he controlled so that part of the profits would be transferred to the financier’s own philanthropic foundation, with the balance retained offshore and out of the reach of the taxman.

When the financier told him that the scheme amounted to illicit tax evasion, Epstein said it was highly unlikely the Internal Revenue Service would unravel it, and, if it did, he would protect the financier from any criminal exposure.

The financier asked him how? Epstein said the financier would have to sign over the funds to him, thus giving him total discretion over where and how the money was invested. This piece of paper, he said, would provide an alibi to the US tax authorities.

The financier turned down Epstein’s proposition, but others – Arab princes, Russian oligarchs and those interested in hiding some part of their wealth – might have accepted it.

Indeed, shortly before his arrest last year, Epstein told an associate that he was going into the business of hiding funds for billionaires who were contemplating divorcing their wives – for a hefty commission, of course.

He also claimed to be in the final stages of buying a property in Morocco, one of four countries in the world not to have an extradition treaty with the US.

So perhaps the mystery of Epstein’s fortune is not how he made his millions, but to whom the money ultimately belongs.

Many very powerful people may have had cause to rue Epstein’s incarceration on sex charges – and, given the fact that they were hiding their assets from the authorities, it’s highly unlikely they will ever publicly come forward to try to recover their investments.

All of which leaves Ghislaine Maxwell as the last living link between a flawed 21st Century Jay Gatsby and the powerful figures who will no doubt be hoping that Epstein’s secrets died with him.

SpaceX to test vehicle upgrades and payload deployment on next Starship flight

January 4, 2025

SpaceX plans to test several upgrades to its Starship vehicle on its next test flight, scheduled for as soon as Jan. 10, as well as conduct the first payload deployments from it.

SpaceX outlined its plans for the seventh test flight of the Starship/Super Heavy vehicle in a Jan. 3 statement.

It confirmed previous comments by the company that the flight would be the first of a block upgrade of the Starship upper stage.

“The upcoming flight test will launch a new generation ship with significant upgrades, attempt Starship’s first payload deployment test, fly multiple reentry experiments geared towards ship catch and reuse, and launch and return the Super Heavy booster,” the company stated.

Among the upgrades to Starship are changes to the forward flap design to reduce heating as well as expanded propellant tanks with 25% greater volume from the previous design.

The vehicle also incorporates a “complete redesign” of its avionics with new computers, antennas and power distribution system.

Other changes involve the vehicle’s thermal protection system, with “latest generation” tiles and a layer underneath that will provide protection in the event of damaged or missing tiles.

Some tiles will be deliberately removed to stress-test vulnerable areas, while the vehicle will test some metallic tile options, some incorporating water cooling.

Those and other changes are intended to prepare for future flights where SpaceX will attempt to land the Starship upper stage back at the launch site.

The Super Heavy booster for the mission will be the first to use previously flown hardware, a single Raptor engine that was first flown on the fifth Starship/Super Heavy test flight in October.

That flight was highlighted by a successful return and “catch” of the booster at the launch site. SpaceX said will attempt another catch of Super Heavy on the upcoming launch.

The Starship upper stage will fly a suborbital profile like several recent flights, with a splashdown in the Indian Ocean.

While in space, though, Starship will perform its first payload deployment, releasing 10 “Starlink simulators” similar in mass and size to next-generation Starlink satellites.

Those mass simulators will not remain in orbit, reentering on suborbital trajectories similar to Starship.

Deploying what SpaceX calls “V3” Starlink satellites will be a key use of Starship once it begins orbital flights.

“With unparalleled payload capacity and full reusability, Starship will be able to deploy our more advanced V3 Starlink satellites, revolutionizing global connectivity,” SpaceX said in a recent “2024 Progress Report” on Starlink.

The V3 Starlink satellites, weighing about two tons each and designed specifically to launch on Starship, will each have one terabit per second of downlink capacity,

10 times that of the V2 Mini Starlink satellites SpaceX currently launches, and 160 gigabits per second of uplink capacity, 24 times that of V2 Mini satellites, according to that report.

Each V3 satellite will also have nearly four terabits per second of backhaul capacity using both radiofrequency and laser links.

SpaceX, in its statement about the next Starship flight, did not give a launch date.

However, airspace restrictions have been published for launch opportunities daily from Jan. 10 through Jan. 16.

Those launches would take place in the late afternoon except for a morning launch Jan. 11.

Canada's skies are opening to new drone rules in 2025

New government regulations can be hard to get excited about — but not if you're a drone pilot like Ian Wills.

Transport Canada's updated rules, to be unveiled early this year, will lift restrictions on longer-distance flights for the remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) or drone industry, making it simpler for pilots to take to the skies.

"The entire drone space is exploding," said Wills, president of Coastal Drone, a drone pilot training organization in Langley, B.C.

"They're evolving and getting more powerful and more capable and empowering people to do things that we can't even imagine yet."

Think large-scale drone deliveries, aerial inspections or vast overhead mapping or inspections.

It's the kind of lofty potential that people have talked about for years in Canada, but one that's really only made possible with these new regulations.

Don't expect Canada's skies to be filled with drones any time soon — the new laws won't come into effect until fall.

But it means for the first time Transport Canada will move away from a case-by-case application process for these flights.

It'll open up much of the country's skies to missions that fall under low-risk beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), where a drone flies out of the pilot's field of view, says Ryan Coates, executive director of remotely piloted aircraft systems for Transport Canada.

It will also mean more stringent rules for pilot certification and updated weight limits for drones.

The BVLOS rules will be most lax in low-risk or less-populated areas, meaning Canada's more remote communities could stand to gain the most from services that could be provided.

Updating rules

Previously, a pilot would need to apply to Transport Canada for special permission every time they wanted to fly their drone beyond their visual line of sight.

That meant tens if not hundreds of hours of paperwork, says Wills.

From the regulator's perspective, the application process, which involved a rigorous review and risk assessment, became incredibly time-consuming and eventually a barrier for many drone users, says Coates of Transport Canada.

The department realized the technology and industry was capable of taking on these flights en masse, says Coates — the laws just had to catch up to make it possible.

But all of this hasn't come out of nowhere.

In 2019, Canada became one of the first countries in the world to introduce rules for RPAs following a wave of close calls with people, their drones and restricted airspace.

The original regulations included restrictions like not operating drones while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or near airports.

Since then, Transport Canada has certified more than 107,000 drone pilots and registered about 100,000 RPAs — numbers the department says increase almost daily.

In that time, the technology has also become more capable and sophisticated, says Coates, intensifying the industry's calls to ditch the administrative burden and update the rules again.

"We always move faster than the regulators, right?" said Glen Lynch, CEO of Volatus Aerospace in Ontario.

Some commercial drone companies like Lynch's already get some leeway from the regulator to fly drones BVLOS, following years of experience in the aviation industry.

But this widespread change "is a whole new realm," he says.

Drones replacing people?

That's not to say that any kind of drone will be able to be flown anywhere.

Transport Canada says pilots who want to do BVLOS must be certified and their drones will be required to have the technology and ability to detect and avoid other air traffic.

The RPAs will also need to weigh less than 150 kilograms and be flown over sparsely populated areas in uncontrolled airspace at low altitudes.

The new laws treat drones like aircraft, because they share the same space — and in some cases, some of the risks.

In Canada, the rules also apply equally to commercial drone pilots as they do to recreational ones, who are the largest cohort of drone pilots in Canada.

They might use their drones for simpler activities, like taking pictures or videos on a hike or vacation.

For those on the commercial side, the future use cases for BVLOS are impossible to fully realize just yet.

Lynch thinks of oil-and-gas pump jacks in Northern Saskatchewan, where drones could replace workers "in gummy rubber boots" driving out to inspect leaks or damage to a rig.

Or agriculture, where they could identify and spray sections of infected crops, all flown by a pilot in a totally different location.

A potential game-changer

But the potential isn't just about benefiting industry. It's also about people, says Dr. John Pawlovich, family physician and the University of British Columbia's chair in rural health.

"I see this as being a real game-changer for communities," he said.

Pawlovich is part of a pioneering pilot project that went through the sometimes infinitesimally slow and small steps of figuring out how to deliver medicine and supplies by drone from a pharmacy to Stellat'en First Nation in Northern B.C.

Journeying to a pharmacy can be difficult for Stellat'en members because of the weather or because some are in poor health.

It might sound elementary, he said, but there are many steps to consider, like how a drone could arrive at a pharmacy in time for a digital prescription to be made available.

The team was able to perform more than 1,200 test flights through special permission from Transport Canada at the time.

Updated BVLOS rules mean a project like that would be easier to expand to other remote communities, involving all kinds of valuable cargo.

For Pawlovich, it's the best example of how, with some consideration, the changes could improve the lives of people living in some of Canada's most remote places.

"This technology holds great promise to kind of close or eliminate the gap in access to medical supply."

Russia said Sunday it downed dozens of Ukrainian drones overnight in a barrage that damaged homes and triggered air alerts.

Videos posted on social media appeared to show distant explosions in the southern Rostov region, while an air raid siren could be heard in the background.

"During the past night, 61 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by air defences," the Russian defence ministry said, adding most were intercepted over regions near the Ukrainian border.

Four airports briefly suspended traffic early Sunday for "safety" reasons, forcing at least eight planes to divert course, a spokesperson for Russia's civil aviation authority Rosaviatsia said.

In the port city of Taganrog and surrounding area, falling debris from downed drones damaged civilian property, according to local Rostov region governor Yuri Slyusar.

"Windows were broken, roofs and walls of residential houses were damaged, cars were also affected," he said.

Moscow and Kyiv have exchanged almost daily drone attacks through the nearly three-year conflict, damaging civilian areas far from the frontline and depleting each other's air defences.

The Ukrainian air force said Russia sent 103 drones into its territory, 61 of which were shot down while 42 were "decoys".

"Several private houses were damaged in the Kharkiv region as a result of the fall of a damaged attack drone," it said.

Three people were wounded in the northeast Kharkiv region as a result of the attack, while four buildings were damaged, regional prosecutors said.

The drone was first spotted at around 4:10am and stayed in the area for nearly half an hour.

Virgin Islands Delegate's Mic Cut Amid Whining Over Non-Voting Rule

U.S. Virgin IslandsDelegate Stacey Plaskett threw a dramatic tantrum on Friday on the House floor while protesting her and other U.S. territories’ non-voting status while selectingthe 119th Congress’s speaker of the House.

Plaskett’s attempt to make apolitical and performative point quickly fell flat as her microphonewas cut off for failing to follow House rules.

After the first speaker roll call,Plaskett demanded to know why non-voting delegates like herself were not called to vote.

The move appeared to be part of aplan to gain viral attention.

“Northern Mariana, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia were not called, representing collectively 4 million Americans … collectively the largest per capita of veterans in this country,” Plaskett began.

“I ask why they were not called from the parliamentarian, please,” she added.

The House clerk provided a straightforward response, swiftly shutting down Plaskett’s lecture.

“Delegates-elect and the resident commissioner-elect are not qualified to vote. Representatives-elect are the only individuals qualified to vote in the election of a speaker,” the House clerk answered.

“As provided in Section 36 of the House Rules and Manual, thespeaker is elected by a majority of the members-elect voting by surname,” he added.

In response, Plaskett launched into what appeared to be a memorized rant.

“This body and this nation has a territories’ and a colony’s problem,” she added.

“What was supposed to be temporary has now effectively become permanent. We must do something about this problem…”

Plaskett’s tirade was abruptly cut short when the clerk proceeded to mute her microphone: “House will be in order.”

The U.S. Virgin Islands is one of the six U.S. territories that are partially represented by delegates instead of lawmakers.They can introduce legislation and be part of committees but lack authority to vote on the House floor.

American Samoa, the District of Columbia, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and Puerto Rico are the other territories. They are respectively represented by Aumua Amata Radewagen, Eleanor Holmes Norton, James Moylan, Kimberlyn King-Hinds and Pablo Jose Hernandez Rivera.

My take on the Las Vegas "attack". We're told a Green Beret, a Tesla Cyber Truck, and explosives were involved. I've reviewed what's out there and listened to the discussions.

I'm trying to look at it with a psychological analysis, an approach similar to what a Behavioral Science / Behavioral Analysis Unit would use. But I'm no expert in this field.

My assessment thus far:

This event seems sloppy. It looks hurried, amateurish. This Green Beret was capable of far greater lethality than what we saw. It looks disorganized, carried out without proper planning. It also appears to have an agenda to it. There doesn't appear to be a comprehensive thought process behind this event. It appears to be lacking forethought and technical design, very spontaneous and fluidic.

However the travel time, distance driven, and the numerous rechargings contradict spontaneity. There were plenty of opportunities to reconsider and walk away.

There's been an absolute frenzy of media deceptions and social media speculations. There are people trying to get themselves involved, possibly for attention, possibly for press time and to self advertise. It also appears that some people are lying, claiming to have insider knowledge. There also appears to be uninvolved people fabricating evidence to cast themselves as important to the case.

The situation makes no sense from a strategic perspective, as the Green Beret accused of the crime could've caused much greater damage and didn't need to die in the process. He could've escaped and faked his death. He had all of those skills.

Whoever actually planned this may not have been looking for high casualty numbers, and not looking to cause significant property damage. Or, maybe they lacked the necessary experience rendering them incapable of calculating the damage or lethality of the explosive they put together?

These possible conclusions bring a narrowed set of criminal actors that could be responsible. Whoever it is, they no doubt anticipated the media and social media frenzies. That's the only aspect of this case that has any semblance of intelligence to it. There was an anticipation that the details would be blurred, that the public scrutiny would produce a background dig into events of the Green Beret's past. From a powerful, hidden position of influence, an actor could direct the background research.

It would not surprise me at all if something is coerced to the surface that will be used to try and make Trump look guilty for something; most likely a war crime.

Someone in a position of power could've had time to doctor history, to fabricate evidence while nobody was looking. Now with this event in Las Vegas, this actor can now use the opportunity they created, to bring their fake historical account to the surface. They'll make it look like it was an axe that this Green Beret wanted to grind. The former military details give them the chance to cast lies from the past into the public eye.

It is my belief that this fake event from the past will be used to attack Trump, impeach Trump and/or arrest him with this altered historical account.

Certain players have been put in place to build credibility of the fake historical account. Maybe they were promised fame, money, or opportunities in exchange for their testimony? These influencing charlatans have a passion for grifting, taking advantage of money making opportunities, making them an easy target to push an agenda. They lack genuine integrity but they've fooled enough people to create a platform. Now those platforms, maybe even unwittingly, will be used to distribute the altered history that will be used to attack Trump.

So, while the explosion in Las Vegas originally looked immature and sloppy, it now actually looks like an event staged to carry out a much more sophisticated scheme. This is a "look here, not there" act, which is what I posted shortly after this event occurred.

I believe it's a well planned scheme for the next attack against Trump.

Several survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking network have sued multiple U.S. Virgin Islands officials for aiding and abetting Epstein’s criminal enterprise.

Among those officials being sued is the territory’sdelegate to Congress, Stacey Plaskett, who is also the ranking Democrat on the House Weaponization Subcommittee.

According to thelawsuit, Plaskett and the other officials “knowingly aided and abetted, facilitated, and directly participated in Epstein’s illegal venture through financial and non-financial transactions.” Epstein’s network was based in Manhattan but frequently trafficked girls to his private island in the USVI.

Plaskett, for her part, visited Epstein at his New Yorkmansion to request that he contribute to her political campaigns, and Epstein and his colleagues paid her campaigns $30,000, the lawsuit said.

“Plaskett also visited Epstein at his New York mansion to request a $30,000 contribution to the Democratic National Committee, which was ultimately declined because,Plaskett knew, Epstein failed their vetting,” the lawsuit added.

The lawsuit further cited Plaskett’s past as an attorney with Epstein’s longtime law firm, Kellerhals Ferguson Kroblin PLLC, as well as her stint asattorney for the USVI’s Economic Development Corporation when it approved over $300 million in tax breaks for Epstein’s companies.

“Plaskett was the attorney on the EDC responsible for, upon information and belief, recommending that the EDC provides these benefits to Epstein and his companies and enterprise,” the lawsuit said.

“These tax breaks amounted to $300 million in direct benefits to Epstein and his companies and enterprise.”

Headline USA reported many of the abovementioned allegations in March, when Plaskett was receiving attention for her antics on the Weaponization Subcommittee.

In response, her office distanced herself from Epstein, noting that she wasn’t working for the EDC when Epstein received the $300 million tax break, nor was she working for Epstein’s preferred law firm when he bought his private island, Little St. James.

“Rep. Plaskett was not with the [EDC] at the time that Jeffrey Epstein was granted his [EDC] benefits. In 2016, Rep. Plaskett was not with [Kellerhals Ferguson Kroblin PLLC]. She was already a Member of Congress and did not engage in outside employment,” her office said.

Plaskett and the other defendants have yet to respond to the recent lawsuit.The case number is 1:23-cv-10301.

Top Russian colonels ‘killed in Storm Shadow blitz’ on command post as Ukraine drone ambush ‘wipes out battalion chief’

A PAIR of Vladimir Putin's top colonels have reportedly been eliminated in a dramatic Storm Shadow missile blitz by Ukraine.

The deadly drone ambush is said to have wiped out a Russian lieutenant and a battalion chief who were hiding out in a bunker in Kursk.

Lieutenant Colonel Valery Tereshchenko was targeted in the command post along with seven other senior officers.

One of these included Colonel Pavel Maletsky, 39, who is the commander of the 656th separate engineer-sapper battalion.

The fatal blast tore through the city of Lgov on December 30, with footage revealing the moment of the explosion.

Bright flashes of orange can be seen over the area where the command post was reportedly located before a giant fireball erupts.

The weapon used is thought to have been been supplied to Ukraine by the British.

Storm Shadow missiles have proved to be a key weapon in the West's arsenal as they continue to help their allies in Ukraine push back against Russia.

The 450kg rockets are capable of dodging Vlad's air defences with ease and precisely blast targets at a whopping 600mph.

The high-ranking casualties have only been revealed today as details of their funerals appeared to emerge.

Putin is yet to officially announce the deaths with Russian media staying quiet over the blast.

But a tribute to Tereshchenko has been posted by the Russian Officers' Ice Hockey League on Telegram.

They announced “with bitterness and sorrow in our hearts” Tereshchenko died in the missile strike.

He played a pivotal role in Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine since joining the Kremlin's ranks in October 2022.

He is reportedly due to be buried later today.

An apparent friend of Maletsky has also appeared to confirm the death of the colonel in the same attack.

Six other Russians were also killed alongside the two key players in Putin's war games, Ukrainian media have announced.

Another 22 servicemen are believed to have been injured in the blast.

The damaging deaths to the Kremlin come after another top Russian missile commander was blitzed by a Ukrainian revenge strike.

Captain Konstantin Nagayko, 29, is fighting for his life in a "critical condition" after his post in Russia's Ivanovo region was blasted, according to Ukrainian military intelligence.

It is said that Nagayko, who Kyiv has accused of war crimes, had to go through extensive surgeries after "all his vital organs were damaged".

UKRAINE'S PINPOINT ATTACKS

Russia has claimed that Ukraine has carried out a series of targeted assassinations since the beginning of the war back in February 2022.

General Igor Kirillov, 54, was killed after a bomb in his electric scooter blew him up outside his Moscow apartment.

Dramatic footage shows the moment the device detonated just seconds after the general and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov left his home.

Some 200g of TNT stuck to the scooter is believed to have been detonated remotely.

The FSB claims Kurbanov was offered $100,000 and European passports to carry out the assassination by Kyiv.

Volodymyr Zelensky's office later denied Ukrainian involvement in Kirillov's death.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president's office, said: "Ukraine does not use methods of terrorist formats.

It comes after Darya Dugina, 30, the daughter of Alexander Dugin, dubbed "Putin's Rasputin" was killed in a car bomb attack.

In 2023 military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky was also killed in a bombing attack in a café in central St Petersburg. Another 30 people were injured in the attack.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has called for Brexit leader Nigel Farage to be replaced at the helm of the Reform UK party after previously expressing support for the longtime Trump ally. Farage, meanwhile, has vowed to not compromise on his principals.

The statement came after a public disagreement over English activist Tommy Robinson, who is currently in prison after pleading guilty contempt of court for repeating libellous statements in public against a Syrian refugee. To the apparent chagrin of Musk, Farage has said that he would not welcome the former English Defence League in as a member of Reform.

Over the past week, Musk has placed heavy focus on European affairs, promoting the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party ahead of the February elections as well as highlighting the Muslim child rape grooming gang scandal in England and the politically correct failures of politicians, police, and local officials to protect young girls.

This came shortly after the tech billionaire came under scrutiny from the MAGA base in the United States over his advocacy for migration through the H1-B visa programme.

Musk’s electric car company Tesla has reportedly taken advantage of the visa programme to fill positions that were vacated after the firm laid off around 15,000 American workers in April of last year.

Responding to criticism over his advocacy for importing foreign tech workers from America First accounts on his social media platform, Musk responded: “Take a big step back and FUCK YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.”

Conversely, under Nigel Farage, the Reform party has consistently argued in favour of drastically reducing immigration, calling ahead of the previous election in July for a “freeze” of all non-essential immigration to Britain.

The New Hysteria: The Regime Pivots From Russians To Immigrants

The technocracy of total surveillance is coming. It will be wrapped in an American flag and proclaiming “America first.”

The debate over immigration is working out perfectly for the deep state. Donald Trump is calling on the CIA and the FBI to “get involved” in domestic policing. At the same time, MAGA conservatives are begging the US government to impose a vast new surveillance state on Americans in the name of stopping illegal aliens.

For at least four years, Russiagate hysteria has been used to promote more police statism, spying, military intervention, and government spending. Now, the incoming president Donald Trump will help the US regime seamlessly pivot from Russiagate hysteria to hysteria over Islamists and immigrants. The result will be the same: more growth in the federal police state and the further erosion of the Bill of Rights. Trump’s Foreign Bogeymen and His Allies at the CIA

On Thursday, Trump posted on X/Twitter demanding that “The CIA must get involved, NOW, before it is too late,” presumably in reaction to the New Orleans New Years Eve massacre, which rightwing activists have declared to be an act of terrorism committed by an Islamist from an immigrant family. In the same post, Trump says “This is what happens when you have OPEN BORDERS,” tying the issue of immigration to terrorism, and then demanding that the CIA become more active in domestic spying.

Trump has already given a number of hints as to what will be used to justify the continued drumbeat for police statism under his second administration. Just prior to his post calling for an expanded CIA, Trump declared that “Radical Islamic Terrorism, and other forms of violent crime, will become so bad in America that it will become hard to even imagine or believe.” This is Trump’s version of the “communists under your bed” hysteria of the 1950s, which, of course was used to justify the growth of the American security state during the Cold war.

Parts of the US have been blanketed by a “mysterious” fog, sparking concern from locals who claim it has a “chemical” smell and exposure can result in flu-like symptoms.

A Florida resident told the Daily Mail that they felt sick after being outside in the fog for just 10 minutes.

“Within about an hour, I kept sneezing over and over for about three hours, and my eyes were really puffy,” the unnamed Floridian claimed.

“I got very warm and I felt like I had a fever, and my stomach was cramping.”

The Daily Mail reports that the occurrences have eerie echoes of “Operation Sea-Spray” — a secret biological warfare experiment conducted by the US Navy back in 1950.

At the time, serratia marcescens and bacillus globigii bacteria were sprayed over the San Francisco Bay area to determine how vulnerable a large American city may be to a bioweapon attack.

At least one American was killed and 10 others were seriously sickened.

Conspiracy theories have run rampant on social media as people in multiple states have reported a similar phenomenon, which comes after drone sightings in some areas of the country.

Footage online shows a flurry of particles floating within the fog, sparking fears that it is no ordinary weather event but rather, some sort of bio-weapon, users allege.

“Described as a thick, lingering blanket, the fog has left people sick—many experiencing sudden cold or flu-like symptoms after only brief exposure,” one person explained on X of the “so-called ‘chemical fogs’.”

Investigation Launched After Uncounted Ballots Found in Wisconsin’s Liberal Capital

An investigation has been launched into the handling of the 2024 election in Wisconsin’s Democratic-controlled capital.

The city of Madison is facing an investigation after 200 uncounted ballots went missing in the last election.

The Wisconsin Election Commission voted unanimously to open a probe into Madison’s handling of the issue.

Alarmingly, the missing ballots went unreported for more than a month.

This isn’t the first time the liberal stronghold of Madison has been at the center of an election controversy recently.

The city admitted to mailing out 2,000 duplicate mail-in ballots in September, while absentee voting was underway.

The city clerk of Madison, Maribeth Witzel-Behl, is now facing the first-ever investigation from the state’s bi-partisan election commission over 200 uncounted ballots.

The oversight is so “egregious” that it must be looked into, the Democrat chair of the commission, Ann Jacobs, said.

“We are the final canvassers,” Jacobs said.

“We are the final arbiters of votes in the state of Wisconsin and we need to know why those ballots weren’t included anywhere.”

Adding to the concern is the city’s delay in reporting the issues.

Two separate batches of uncounted ballots were found in Madison on November 12 and December 3.

However, the commission was not informed of the discrepancy until December 18.

The Pentagon addressed questions regarding reports this week about the U.S. military moving construction materials into Kobani, a city in northeastern Syria close to Turkey's border, ostensibly to help its long time partners, the Kurdish-led Syrian Defense Forces, stave off attacks by the Turks.

"We're continuing to work and focus on our mission, which you know why we're in Syria, to ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS. But when it comes to US forces in Kobani, there's no plan or intent right now to set up any base. I'm not sure where those reports are coming from," said Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh.

Unfortunately the follow-ups in the briefing room were weak and didn't ask the next logical question more plainly: if not a "base" is there an outpost or smaller fortification being constructed for the mobilization of U.S. troops and personnel? If video and on-the-ground reports are to be believed, something is going on there.

Raffi Berg: BBC Middle East Editor Exposed as CIA, Mossad Collaborator

Asenior BBC editor at the center of an ongoing scandal into the network’s systematic pro-Israel bias is, in fact, a former member of a CIA propaganda outfit, MintPress News can reveal. Raffi Berg, an Englishman who heads the BBC’s Middle East desk, formerly worked for the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Broadcast Information Service, a unit that, by his own admission, was a CIA front group.

Berg came to public attention in December after Drop Site News published an investigation based on interviews with 13 BBC staffers who present him as a domineering figure, systematically blocking coverage critical of Israel and manipulating stories to suit pro-Israel narratives.

The 9000-word report, written by popular journalist Owen Jones, is extensive and well-researched. However, one aspect of the story it almost completely avoids is Berg’s connections to the U.S. national security state, which MintPress News can now reveal.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Berg was an employee of the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) three years before joining the BBC. The FBIS is understood the world over to be a CIA front group known for gathering intelligence for the agency.

Algerio was born in Nola, and was a civil law student at the University of Padua, where his Lutheran theological beliefs attracted the attention of the Roman Inquisition.[2] At his trial, he wore his academic hat and gown to remind the tribunal that, as a student, he had the right to freely express his ideas. In Rome, on 21 August 1555, a monk from the brotherhood of St John the Beheaded visited Pomponio in his cell urging him to repent. If he repented, he would be strangled before burning. The 24-year-old student refused.

One year later, on 19 August 1556, he was executed by civil authorities in the Piazza Navona, Rome. Maintaining his composure while he was boiled in oil, he stayed alive for 15 minutes before dying.
