Following endorsements from QAnon leaders, she built up a band of followers, declared that she had overthrown the legitimate government of Canada, and said her claim to the "Queen of Canada" title is backed by secret, powerful US military interests.

Ms Didulo and her followers spread a variety of different beliefs, including sovereign citizen, anti-vaccination conspiracies, and ideas related to QAnon - a wide-ranging, completely unfounded theory that says former US President Donald Trump is waging a secret war against elite Satan-worshipping paedophiles in government, business and the media.

As journalist Whitney Webb and others are now exposing, the ghost of eugenics never left—it just got a PR team. What we’re witnessing is a terrifying modern merger of Silicon Valley transhumanism and Big Pharma, all framed as "healthcare" and "human upgrade."

Now, look at the policy roll-out globally. Medically Assisted Death in Canada, originally for the terminally ill, is now being pitched to the homeless and impoverished. The message is clear: if you are a "burden" on the system, you are encouraged to exit it.

Wells himself predicted a split in humanity: an "upgraded," augmented elite and a subservient, dwarf-like underclass. The WEF’s "You will own nothing and be happy" and the push to eat bugs aren’t random; they are the blueprint for a new feudalism.

NEW YORK (AP) — A federal appeals court has upheld a civil jury’s finding that President Donald Trump must pay $83.3 million to E. Jean Carroll for his repeated social media attacks against the longtime advice columnist after she accused him of sexual assault.

 

In a ruling issued Monday, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Trump’s appeal of the defamation award, finding that the “jury’s damages awards are fair and reasonable.”

 

Trump had argued that he should not have to pay the sum as a result of a Supreme Court decision expanding presidential immunity. His lawyers had asked for a new trial.

 

A civil jury in Manhattan issued the $88.3 million award last year following a trial that centered on Trump’s repeated social media attacks against Carroll over her claims that he sexually assaulted her in a Manhattan department store in 1996.

 

That award followed a separate trial, in which Trump was found liable for sexually abusing Carroll and ordered to pay $5 million. That award was upheld by an appeals court last December.

 

In a memoir, and again at a 2023 trial, Carroll described how a chance encounter with Trump at Bergdorf Goodman’s Fifth Avenue in 1996 started with the two flirting as they shopped, then ended with a violent struggle inside a dressing room.

 

Carroll said Trump slammed her against a dressing room wall, pulled down her tights and forced himself on her.

 

A jury found Trump liable for sexual assault, but concluded he hadn’t committed rape, as defined under New York law.

 

Trump repeatedly denied that the encounter took place and accused Carroll of making it up to help sell her book.

 

He also said that Carroll was “not my type.”

 

The 2023 jury awarded Carroll $5 million to compensate her for both the alleged attack and statements Trump made denying that it had happened.

 

After that first verdict, the court held a second trial with a new jury for the purpose of deciding damages for additional statements Trump made attacking Carroll’s character and truthfulness.

 

Trump had skipped the first civil trial but he attended the second, which took place as he was running for president in 2024. Speaking to reporters throughout the trial, Trump portrayed the lawsuit as part of a broader effort to smear him and prevent him from regaining the White House.

 

His lawyers complained that the judge, in setting rules for the second, damages trial,had barred Trump and his defense team from claiming in front of the jury that he was innocent of the attack..The judge ruled that that issue had been settled by the first jury and didn’t need to be revisited.

German investigators name Zelensky rival as Nord Stream sabotage mastermind – media

Former Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny commissioned the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines in 2022, German newspaper Die Welt reported on Monday, citing an investigator familiar with the matter.

According to the newspaper, German investigators believe they have cracked the case of the attacks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2, which run under the Baltic Sea and were built to carry Russian natural gas directly to Germany.

 

Previous Western media reports claimed that the authorities already knew the identities of the entire crew – reportedly made up of Ukrainian nationals – aboard the yacht Andromeda, which is suspected of being the vessel involved in the sabotage.

Die Welt noted that they were acting on orders from Zaluzhny, who was dismissed from his post in February 2024 and appointed Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK.

 

Since then, media reports have speculated that Zaluzhny could use his political clout to become Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky’s most dangerous rival in a potential election.

Media reports in August claimed that he is already laying the groundwork for a presidential bid and is recruiting campaign staff – a claim Zaluzhny’s team has denied.

 

Earlier reporting from Der Spiegel in September 2024 also claimed that Zaluzhny greenlit the attack, while a later article by Der Spiegel suggested that the general was so impressed by the operation that he wanted to expand it to target Russia’s TurkStream pipeline in the Black Sea – although the effort was thwarted. Zaluzhny has denied having any role in the sabotage.

 

According to Die Welt, however, some experts remain skeptical of the alleged Ukrainian role, saying the saboteurs were behaving too conspicuously.

“All nonsense,” an official familiar with the investigation said, as cited by the paper. He also accused those who suspect Russia or the US of being behind the attack of believing in conspiracy theories.

 

In contrast, a senior aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Nikolay Patrushev, claimed the sabotage could not have been executed without Western commandos, singling out Britain as the likely culprit and arguing that the Ukrainians lack the necessary expertise.

Putin previously suggested that US intelligence agencies under President Joe Biden orchestrated the sabotage.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko has accused Russia of striking a government office in central Kiev, posting a video from inside a damaged corridor.

However, reports by Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko and Ukrainian media suggested that the blaze was sparked by debris from a downed drone, not a direct hit.

 

In the video posted to social media on Sunday, Sviridenko said “you can see the consequences of the attack” while standing in a corridor with some scattered debris.

She also claimed that the fire caused by the attack covered 800 square meters. No clearly visible signs of any major blaze can be seen in the video except for what appears to be a burnt roof.

 

Klitschko stated earlier on Telegram that a government office caught fire after Ukrainian air defenses brought down a drone.

Several local media outlets, including TSN and Focus, also reported that the fire was caused by wreckage from the intercepted UAV.

 

The Russian Defense Ministry stated on Sunday that the nation’s military had targeted two military industrial facilities on the outskirts of Kiev in an overnight strike. It denied striking the government office.

Sviridenko used the incident to accuse Moscow of “not seeking peace” and urged Kiev’s Western backers to “help close our sky” and “strengthen sanctions against Russia.”

She also published a photo of herself standing inside a severely damaged building, claiming it to be the government office.

 

Photos released by the Ukrainian emergency services on social media only showed fire and smoke coming out of several windows on the upper floor of the government building, with no visible damage to its walls or roof.

This is not the first time Ukrainian officials have pointed the finger at Russia for damage caused either by a shot-down projectile or Ukraine's own air-defenses.

 

Such incidents in the past have set residential buildings and infrastructure ablaze, raising questions over Kiev’s placement of anti-air systems close to civilian areas.

Moscow maintains that it never targets civilians, only Kiev’s defense industry and military-related facilities.

Russia has no plans to exact vengeance on Western countries that cut ties and pressured Moscow over the Ukraine conflict, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Speaking at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations on Monday, Lavrov stressed that Russia did not intend to “take revenge or vent anger” on companies that decided to support Western governments in their push to support Kiev and impose economic sanctions on Moscow, adding that hostility is generally “a poor adviser.”

 

“When our former Western partners come to their senses… we will not push them away. But we… will take into account that, having fled at the order of their political leaders, they have shown themselves to be unreliable,” the minister said.

According to Lavrov, any future market access would also depend on whether the companies would pose risks to sectors vital to Russia’s economy and security.

 

The minister stressed that Russia is open to cooperation and has no intention to isolate itself.

“We live on one small planet. It was Western-style to build Berlin Walls… We do not want to build any walls,” he said, referring to the symbol of the Cold War that split the German capital from 1961 to 1989.

”We want to work honestly, and if our partners are ready to do the same on the basis of equality and mutual respect, we are open to dialogue with everyone,” he said, pointing to the Alaska Summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, as an example of constructive engagement.

 

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, on Saturday, that Western businesses would be welcomed back if they had not supported the Ukrainian army and had met obligations to the state and their Russian staff, including paying due salaries.

Putin this month also rejected isolationism, stressing that Russia would like to avoid closing itself off in a “national shell” as it would harm competitiveness. “We have never turned away or pushed anyone out. Those who want back in are welcome,” he added.

IDF intercepts 3 Houthi drones launched at south, day after attack on Ramon Airport

Three drones launched by the Houthi rebels in Yemen were shot down by the Israeli Air Force over southern Israel within half an hour on Monday, the military said.

There were no reports of injuries or damage from the attacks, which followed the launch of four drones the day before, one of which exploded at Ramon International Airport.

Monday saw another drone intercepted near the airport, the military said, setting off sirens. Several interceptor missiles were launched over the Eilat area — just south of the airport — to shoot down the drone.

 

Another drone set off sirens in the southern city of Dimona and the nearby area. It too was shot down.

A third drone was shot down that did not set off any sirens, “according to protocol,” meaning it was downed before it could threaten any targets on the ground.

The Iran-backed Houthis took responsibility for the drones, claiming to have targeted Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel, Ramon Airport in the south, and a “sensitive target” in Dimona.

 

Later on Monday, sirens warning of a suspected drone infiltration sounded in several West Bank settlements south of Jerusalem and near the Dead Sea. However, the IDF said they were false alarms.

On Sunday, a drone launched by the Houthis evaded Israeli air defenses and smashed into the Ramon Airport’s passenger terminal, causing damage.

 

A 63-year-old man was lightly injured by shrapnel from the blast, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

The man, along with a woman who fell over while running from the scene, was taken to Yoseftal Medical Center in Eilat for treatment. Several other people required treatment for acute anxiety, MDA added.

 

An initial Israeli Air Force investigation found that the drone was detected by radar, but was wrongly not classified as a threat by air defense troops.

As a result, no sirens sounded, no attempts were made to shoot it down, and the drone ultimately struck the airport.

 

Sunday saw the military shoot down three other Houthi drones that set off warning sirens in several communities on the Egyptian border.

While designated as an international airport, nearly all flights to and from Ramon are domestic. During the war in Gaza, thousands of Palestinians — including patients, wounded individuals and their family members — have been evacuated from the Strip via the airport for medical treatment abroad.

The drone launches on Sunday came amid a wave of Houthi missile and drone attacks over the past two weeks following Israel’s assassination of Houthi prime minister Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser al-Rahawi and several members of his cabinet in an attack in Yemen.

 

The Houthis — whose slogan calls for “Death to America, Death to Israel, [and] a Curse on the Jews” — began attacking Israel and maritime traffic in November 2023, a month after the October 7 Hamas massacre that sparked the war in Gaza.

The Houthis briefly held their fire when a ceasefire was reached between Israel and Hamas in January 2025.

By that point, they had fired over 40 ballistic missiles and dozens of attack drones and cruise missiles at Israel, including one drone that killed a civilian and wounded several others in Tel Aviv in July 2024, prompting Israel’s first strike in Yemen.

 

Since March 18, when the IDF resumed its offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis have launched 80 ballistic missiles and at least 31 drones at Israel. Several of the missiles have fallen short.

In response, Israel has repeatedly attacked the Houthis in Yemen, located some 1,800 kilometers (1,100 miles) away.

Houthis celebrate drone strike on Ramon Airport, threaten further attacks: 'Real revenge hasn't begun'

A Houthi drone struck Ramon Airport near Eilat on Sunday without warning, marking one of the rare successful attacks by the Yemen-based group since the outbreak of war.

Although most Houthi launches are intercepted or fail to reach Israel, the attack adds to a series of significant operations that have raised concerns in Israel.

Israel has continued occasional strikes in Yemen targeting Houthi positions, but the group continues to launch missiles and drones toward Israel, aiming to hit targets and celebrating any apparent success.

 

After the Ramon Airport strike, senior Houthi correspondent Nasr al-Din Amer wrote on X that it was a "unique military operation" and issued further threats.

"The enemy’s airports are not safe. Foreigners must leave to protect themselves. Other sensitive targets are under fire," he said.

Houthi official Hazem al-Asad posted in Hebrew on X with videos from the airport, saying, "The real revenge has not yet begun. What awaits you will be much harsher."

Houthi-linked channels circulated images with captions warning that "the enemy’s airports are not safe" and "there will be no security or stability for the Zionist enemy and our operations will continue."

 

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack.

It occurred about a week and a half after Operation Lucky Drop, in which Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and several government ministers were killed.

The Houthis vowed revenge and repeatedly launched missiles and drones at Israel, making Sunday’s strike one of the few successful hits.

Despite many failed attempts, the Houthis have scored occasional successes during the war, demonstrating that their threats cannot be ignored.

 

Past attacks highlight the threat

The recent targeted killings in Yemen followed a previous Houthi success last month when a missile with a cluster warhead fired toward Israel partially exploded in a yard in Ginaton.

Since then, the Houthis claimed responsibility for another missile launch that Israel’s defense systems said was intercepted. On May 4, the group struck near Ben Gurion Airport with a ballistic missile that was not intercepted, causing casualties.

Senior Houthi official Mohammed al-Bukhaiti told Qatari channel Al-Arabi, "The escalation will continue as long as Israel does not stop the attacks in Gaza.

There are no red lines in our conflict with the Zionist entity, the United States and Britain. The Ben Gurion strike demonstrates our ability to hit fortified sites inside Israel."

 

Drone attacks across Israel

Other attacks in recent months include a Houthi drone that exploded in a penthouse in Yavne on December 9, 2024, and another that struck a school in Ramat Ef’al on December 19, causing damage from the warhead.

Two days later, a missile hit Jaffa, creating a crater in a playground, and on December 25 a drone from Yemen exploded in an open area in Ashkelon.

In July 2024, a Houthi drone crashed into an apartment in Tel Aviv without warning, killing Yevgeny Perder. The Houthis claimed it was a "Jaffa" drone, which they reportedly continued to use.

 

Prepared for war

Beyond their eliminated political leadership, the Houthis maintain a military command and operatives throughout Yemen and had prepared for war with Israel long before the conflict began.

Following the decline of the Iranian-Shia axis, the group has become a daily threat to Israel. Senior Houthi officials have repeatedly framed their operations as victories, whether they hit targets, fail, or die as "martyrs."

Even the mass rush of Israeli civilians to shelters during alerts is considered a success by the Houthis.

The Israeli Air Force once again struck a high-rise building in Gaza City a short while ago that the IDF says was being used by Hamas, after issuing several warnings for residents in the area to evacuate.

 

According to the military, Hamas operatives had placed observation posts and surveillance equipment in the building, along with explosive devices, with the building allegedly being used to target IDF forces throughout the war.

 

The army says the strike was carried out with precision munitions and aerial surveillance to minimize civilian harm.

 

This is the fourth high-rise in Gaza City hit by the IDF in as many days, with the military saying each of the buildings was exploited by Hamas for terror activity.

IDF announces four soldiers killed in Hamas attack on army camp outside Gaza City

Three of the slain troops are named as:

Staff Sgt. Uri Lamed, 20, from Tel Mond.

They all served with the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion.

The name of the fourth soldier is set to be released later, the army says.

 

Additionally, a soldier of the Nahal Infantry Brigade’s 50th Battalion was moderately wounded in the incident, the army adds.

According to a preliminary IDF probe, three Hamas operatives launched an attack on an army encampment in the Kafr Jabalia area, on the outskirts of Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood at around 6 a.m.

The incident took place shortly after troops had returned to the outpost following an overnight activity.

 

The operatives reached a tank at the entrance to the encampment and opened fire at the commander, who had his head outside the armored vehicle’s open hatch.

The gunmen then hurled an explosive device inside the tank, leading to the deaths of the four soldiers, according to the initial investigation.

 

The probe also found that other soldiers stationed in the encampment returned fire at the fleeing gunmen, with at least two of them being hit.

During the exchange of fire, the wounded infantryman was hit in the leg, according to the IDF.

Mighty hurricane to hit Gaza: Israel warns Hamas to free hostages or face annihilation

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, issued a warning to Hamas on Sunday, vowing massive retaliation unless hostages are released and weapons are surrendered.

The minister warned that a mighty hurricane will hit Gaza if Hamas does not release hostages and lay down arms.

“Today, a powerful hurricane will strike the skies of Gaza City, and the roofs of the terror towers will [fall],” Katz wrote on X.

 

He directly addressed Hamas both inside Gaza and abroad, saying: “This is a final warning to the murderers and rapists of Hamas in Gaza and in luxury hotels abroad:

Release the hostages and lay down your weapons—or Gaza will be destroyed, and you will be annihilated.”

 

Katz emphasised that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are continuing operations as planned and preparing to expand their ground maneuver with the stated goal of decisively defeating Hamas in Gaza.

"The IDF continues as planned—and is preparing to expand the maneuver to decisively defeat Gaza," he wrote.

 

The warning comes amid escalating tensions, ongoing airstrikes, and mounting international concern over the humanitarian toll in the besieged territory.

Israel has been preparing for a major ground offensive to seize Gaza City in the northern Strip, where nearly a million residents had been sheltering before the latest wave of evacuations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that more than 100,000 people have already left.

 

In recent days, the IDF have targeted one high-rise building in Gaza each day, following evacuation alerts.

The military says the towers were used by Hamas, while analysts view the strikes as a push to accelerate civilian departures ahead of the planned takeover.

 

TRUMP'S LAST WARNING

Earlier on Sunday, US President Donald Trump also issued what he called his "last warning" to Hamas, urging the group to agree to a deal for releasing hostages from Gaza.

"The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting.

This is my last warning, there will not be another one,” Trump wrote in a post his Truth Social platform.

 

The war in Gaza was triggered by Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, a large-scale assault that left around 1,200 people dead, the majority of them civilians, and saw 251 others taken hostage.

The attack marked the deadliest single day in Israel’s history and set off the ongoing military campaign in Gaza.

 

Of the 251 people abducted, many have since been freed through temporary ceasefires or negotiated exchanges, but a significant number remain in captivity.

The fate of those still held by Hamas continues to fuel tensions and drive Israel’s military operations.

At least five people were reported killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon’s eastern Beqaa valley targeting sites allegedly used by the Hezbollah terror group to plan attacks.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, air force planes hit Hezbollah military compounds belonging to the terror group’s elite Radwan Force, where operatives were gathered and where weapons were stored.

 

The attack involved 12 separate strikes, across the Hermel region in the north of the valley, Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen News reported.

“The Israeli enemy strikes on the Bekaa and the outskirts of Hermel led to a preliminary toll of five dead and five others wounded,” Lebanon’s health ministry said.

 

The IDF said the sites were “used by the Hezbollah terror organization for conducting training, preparing terrorists for planning and carrying out terror attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel.”

“As part of the training and preparation of the terrorists in the camps, the terrorists undergo shooting drills and additional training in the use of various types of weapons,” the military said.

 

The training and use of the sites by Hezbollah to store weapons are a “blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and pose a threat to the State of Israel,” the IDF said.

Under a November 27 ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, weapons in Lebanon were to be held only by the state, and the IDF was permitted to act against imminent threats by the terror group.

 

Israel has since carried out hundreds of attacks on Hezbollah personnel or assets, the vast majority of them in southern Lebanon, though it has also taken action deeper inside the country, including in the Beqaa valley, a stronghold of the Iran-backed group.

On Friday, Lebanon’s cabinet approved a plan to disarm the terror group, whose ministers and other Shi’ites in the government walked out on the meeting. Details of the disarmament plan remain secret.

 

The ceasefire agreement came after nearly 14 months of conflict sparked by the Hezbollah’s unprovoked launching of near-daily attacks on Israeli border communities starting October 8, 2023 — a day after fellow Iran-backed group Hamas stormed southern Israel, sparking the Gaza war.

The Hezbollah attacks displaced some 60,000 residents of northern Israel. In a bid to secure their return, Israel stepped up operations in Lebanon in September 2024, decimating Hezbollah’s leadership.

US Congress is holding a UFO hearing tomorrow about 'restoring public trust.' Here's how to watch live

UFOs are coming back to Washington, D.C. tomorrow.

 

A hearing titled "Restoring Public Trust Through UAP Transparency and Whistleblower Protection" will be held by the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, a task force established in January 2025 by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

At the hearing, three U.S. military veterans will share their experiences witnessing UAP, or unidentified anomalous phenomena, a new term for UFOs that encompasses strange objects or events not only in the sky but also in water or space, or that appear to travel between these domains.

The hearing begins at 10 a.m. ET (1400 GMT) on Tuesday (Sept. 9). Watch it live here courtesy of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.

 

The Task Force is chaired by Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), who has alleged that the U.S. government is hiding the truth about many other conspiracies.

"It is time to give Americans the answers they deserve, which is why I am honored to lead this bipartisan task force that seeks truth and transparency," Luna said in a House statement announcing the task force.

"We will also investigate UAPs/USOs, the Epstein client list, COVID-19 origins, and the 9/11 files."

 

Luna says tomorrow's hearing is intended to compel Congress to reexamine what types of information should be classified and which should be available to the public, mostly when it comes to UAP.

"The American people deserve maximum transparency from the federal government on sightings, acquisitions, and examinations of UAPs and whether they pose a potential threat to Americans' safety," Luna said in a House statement announcing the hearing.

 

In addition to the three military veterans who claim to have witnessed UAP, the hearing will also include longtime investigative journalist George Knapp. For decades, Knapp has claimed the U.S. government is hiding evidence of UFOs and/or alien life.

In the late 1980s while working as anchor for KLAS-TV in Las Vegas, Knapp rose to fame helping popularize the claims of UFO-lore stalwarts Bob Lazar and John Lear.

Lazar claims to have worked at the U.S. Air Force's infamous Area 51 facility where he helped reverse engineer crashed flying saucers. His claims have never been substantiated.

 

Lear, meanwhile, was a former CIA pilot who promoted theories that the U.S. government was involved in a long-term conspiracy to hide the fact that it colluded with extraterrestrial beings.

Ultimately, Tuesday's hearing is intended to send the message that "whistleblowers who provide details on spending information and policies and procedures regarding the classification and declassification of UAPs should be able to do so without retribution," according to Luna's statement.

We've heard similar sentiments in previous congressional hearings.

 

In November 2024, former U.S. counterintelligence officer Luis Elizondo, who claims to have investigated UAP while working for secret Pentagon program, testified that we are "in the midst of a multi-decade, secretive arms race  — one funded by misallocated taxpayer dollars and hidden from our elected representatives and oversight bodies."

Elizondo, who has shared easily debunked imagery as proof of UAP in other congressional briefings, suggested the U.S. government should offer protections to UAP whistleblowers so those who are "desperate to do the right thing can come forward without fear."

 

For decades, purported whistleblowers have argued that classified military and intelligence sensors and satellites regularly record evidence of unexplained phenomena or advanced craft, potentially piloted by alien beings.

But because those records are classified by the U.S. government in order to not reveal the full extent of its surveillance or sensing capabilities, these whistleblowers argue, the truth is being withheld from the American public and the world.

Van Tassel was born in Jefferson, Ohio in 1910, and grew up in a fairly prosperous middle-class family.

He finished high school in the 10th grade and held a job at a Cleveland airport; he also acquired a pilot's license.

At 20, he moved to California, where at first he worked for a garage owned by an uncle.

 

While working at the garage he met Frank Critzer, an eccentric loner who claimed to be working a mine somewhere near Giant Rock, a 7-story boulder near Landers, California.

Frank Critzer was a German immigrant trying to make a living in the desert as a prospector. During World War II, Critzer was under suspicion as a German spy and died during a police siege at the Rock in 1942.

Upon receiving news of Critzer's death, Van Tassel applied for a lease of the abandoned airport near Giant Rock from the Bureau of Land Management, who managed the land, and was eventually given a renewable Federal Government contract to develop the airstrip.

 

Van Tassel became an aircraft mechanic and flight inspector who at various times between 1930 and 1947 worked for Douglas Aircraft, Hughes Aircraft, and Lockheed.

While at Hughes Aircraft he was the Top Flight Inspector.[2] He finally left Southern California's booming aerospace industry for the desert in 1947.

He and his family at first lived a simple existence in the rooms Frank Critzer had dug out under Giant Rock. Van Tassel eventually built a home, a cafe, a small airstrip, and a dude ranch beside the Rock.

 

George Van Tassel died of a heart attack in 1978.

I believe Trump IS making the economy a ton better, that's very true, but with the illegals leaving/being removed in record numbers (is THIS number true?), and all the investment pouring in, why aren't we seeing significant wage growth? Update (1300ET): As we previewed and expected, French PM Francois Bayrou, the fourth prime minister in just 20 months, became the latest to depart having failed to get sufficient support to push a budget through parliament as 194 voted for him, 364 against.

 

Bayrou is reportedly going to submit his resignation to Macron early Tuesday, according to a government course.

 

Macron has limited options to steer France out of this crisis, according to PoliticoEU.

 

He is reportedly leaning toward appointing another prime minister — the fifth since January 2024 — but a new premier would face the same intractable parliament.

 

So too would a technical government made up of civil servants.

A private dinner attended by dozens of administration officials and close advisers to President Donald Trump was temporarily marred by a dramatic clash between two of Trump’s top economic officials, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at one point threatening to punch top housing finance official Bill Pulte “in the fucking face.”

 

The Wednesday evening event was supposed to be one of celebration: It was both the much-anticipated inaugural dinner at Executive Branch, the ultra-exclusive Georgetown club created by and for Trump world’s uberrich, and a birthday party for MAGA-friendly podcaster Chamath Palihapitiya.

 

A long table for the 30-some guests was set with top-of-the-line crystal and china. The guest list included Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler, Medicare and Medicaid chief Mehmet Oz, plus venture capitalist David Sacks, Palihapitiya’s partner on the “All In” podcast.

 

But amid the cocktail-hour din, Bessent lashed out at Pulte in an expletive-laden diatribe.The Treasury secretary had heard from several people that the Federal Housing Finance Agency director had been badmouthing him to Trump, a person close to him said. He wasn’t about to engage in chit-chat as if nothing was amiss.

 

“Why the fuck are you talking to the president about me? Fuck you,”Bessent told Pulte. “I’m gonna punch you in your fucking face.”

 

The scene was described to me by one eyewitness and four other people familiar with what happened.The only fact they disagreed on was whether it was Bessent or Pulte who initiated the conversation. They and others who described the conflict were granted anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.

 

Pulte appeared stunned, and the tense encounter prompted club co-owner and financier Omeed Malik to intervene, according to the three people. But Bessent wasn’t having it — he sought to get him kicked out, the eyewitness said.

 

“It’s either me or him,” Bessent said to Malik. “You tell me who’s getting the fuck out of here.”

 

“Or,” he added, “we could go outside.”

 

“To do what?” asked Pulte. “To talk?”

 

“No,” Bessent replied. “I’m going to fucking beat your ass.”

 

Seeking to deescalate the situation, Malik separated the men, walking Bessent to another part of the club to calm down. During the seated dinner, Bessent and Pulte were placed on opposite ends of the table, and the party went off without further episode.

 

Bessent, Pulte, Malik and the White House declined to comment.

 

The confrontation — which one Trump insider called “bonkers” and another called “unhinged” — underscores the surprising tensions between top Trump officials tasked with working on the nation’s most sensitive economic matters.

 

Trump announced in May that Bessent, Lutnick and Pulte would collaborate on a plan to privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the federal housing finance organs Pulte oversees. In recent weeks, Pulte has taken the lead on an initiative that could put as much as 15 percent of Fannie and Freddie on the public markets.

Over Half Of Berlin's New Police Recruits Need German Language Training, Officials Admit

 

For some reason, Germany loves recruiting migrants into its police force in the name of diversity. In 2022, roughly 42% of police recruits who took the most common path into Berlin's police force were migrants or came from migrant families, according to a major survey (37% including all pathways).

 

What's more, Berlin is the only German state where the proportion of new police recruits with a migration background matches or exceeds the city's own population share (35%) according to that same survey.

 

Now, (shocker!) roughly 55% of Germany's new police recruits don't meet German language standards for the job - so obviously that percentage of migrant recruits went way up.

 

Out of 240 police trainees who began their training in spring 2025, a staggering 132 recruits, roughly 55% need extra German-language support, the Berlin Police confirmed to Nius (via Apollo News).

 

The problem, authorities say, hits hardest in the first semester of training. “About half of the new recruits require regular language support at the start of their training,” the police statement said. However, they noted that the need for assistance drops over time as recruits progress through the program.

 

No word on where these recruits are migrating from. Maybe it's the Poles? The Turks?

 

Police Blame Broader Social Decline

Berlin’s police stressed this isn’t just a law enforcement issue, it’s part of a nationwide trend of falling written-language skills.

 

Authorities cited multiple causes:

 

Teacher shortages

Increasing diversity in classrooms

Rising demands on schools, particularly in German language instruction and digital media literacy

The agency also pointed to cultural and technological shifts as contributing factors. Young people are growing up in a world “where written text is everywhere,” the statement said, but that doesn’t mean they’re writing it correctly.

But behind the scenes, the two men have clashed in something of a turf war over the mortgage giants as well as other economic matters, four Trump insiders told me. Bessent believes, some of the people familiar with their conflict say, that Pulte has inserted himself into matters the secretary views as his jurisdiction. Pulte, they add, has bristled at the threat of being bigfooted.

 

Complicating the entire dynamic, according to Trump administration allies closely following the drama, is Pulte’s close ties to Lutnick. The Commerce secretary and Bessent have had a rocky relationship since the transition, when the two men competed for the Treasury position. That has injected significant distrust into anything the trio work on together.

 

It was why Bessent — who feels he doesn’t have time for drama and backbiting given his massive portfolio, according to the person close to him — hit the roof when he saw Pulte Wednesday.

 

Both men enjoy close relationships with Trump and are known within the president’s orbit to openly jockey for influence and power — albeit in different ways.

 

Bessent, who comes across publicly as soft-spoken, has won Trump’s trust as a “soothing” presence for jittery markets amid the president’s unpredictable plays on tariffs and other economic issues. A cautious operator who’s been called a “moderating influence” on the administration, the billionaire former hedge fund manager has overcome his past association with Democratic megadonor George Soros and is now considered one of Trump’s closest allies.

 

Meanwhile, Pulte — a brash 37-year-old with 3 million X followers — has taken a more pugnacious tack in his lower-profile job. The scion of a family that made a fortune building homes, he quickly fired more than 100 Fannie and Freddie staffers as he took direct control of the key housing finance entities — often rolling out new initiatives on X.

 

In recent weeks his stock in the White House and in the MAGA universe more broadly has risen as he has used his post to launch mortgage-related investigations into several of the president’s critics. His efforts to target Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook — alleging she sought mortgages for multiple “primary” residences — have redoubled pressure on the Fed as Trump presses for lower interest rates.

 

Trump moved to fire Cook, a Joe Biden appointee, last month. She has called the allegations unsubstantiated and is suing to challenge her ouster. The case is pending.

 

Relatedly, Bessent and Pulte have been on opposite sides of the debate about whether Trump should fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. Bessent, as my colleagues Megan Messerly and Victoria Guida scooped earlier this year, had privately cautioned that such a decapitation would destabilize financial markets.

 

Pulte, on the other hand, has repeatedly called on Powell to resign and has taken the position that Trump has the power to fire the chair for cause based on his alleged mismanagement of costly Fed headquarters renovations. Pulte even gave Trump a draft letter firing Powell, the Washington Post reported in July.

 

Wednesday’s dustup also wasn’t the first time Bessent has gotten into an altercation with a fellow Trump official. In April, he confronted Elon Musk just outside the Oval Office, accusing the tech mogul — then running his Department of Government Efficiency initiative — in a profanity-laden tirade of going behind his back to secure his chosen candidate, Gary Shapley, as acting IRS commissioner.

 

Bessent was pushing for another man, Deputy Treasury Secretary Michael Faulkender, to get the job — and eventually got his way. Faulkender left the department late last month after just five months on the job.

A General Motors spokesperson confirmed to the Detroit Free Press that CEO Mary Barra sold 994,863 shares last month, valued at roughly $35.4 million. The sale accounted for 40% of Barra's personal stake in the struggling legacy automaker, which is facing a slowdown in electric vehicle sales.

 

Barra's fire sale, one of her largest ever, included shares linked to performance rewards dating back to 2011, plus a wind-down of her estate-planning trust. It should be noted that these sales occurred under her 10B5-1 plan.

Supreme Court allows Trump to continue ‘roving’ ICE patrols in California

The Supreme Court on Mondaybacked President Donald Trump’s push to allow immigration enforcement officials to continue what critics describe as “roving patrols” in Southern California that lower courts said likely violated the Fourth Amendment.

 

The court did not offer an explanation for its decision, which came over a sharp dissent from the three liberal justices.

 

At issue were a series of incidents in which masked and heavily armed Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents pulled aside people who identify as Latino – including some US citizens – around Los Angeles to interrogate them about their immigration status. Lower courts found that ICE likely had not established the “reasonable suspicion” required to justify those stops.

 

The decision deals with seven counties in Southern California, but it has landed during a broader crackdown on immigration by the Trump administration –and officials are likely to read it as a tacit approval of similar practices elsewhere.

 

A US District Court in July ordered the Department ofHomeland Security to discontinue the practice if the stops were based largely on a person’s apparent ethnicity, language or their presence at a particular location, such as a farm or bus stop. The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals largely upheld that decision, which applied only to seven California counties.

 

But the Supreme Court disagreed with that approach. Though the court did not provide any analysis explaining its decision, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, a member of the conservative wing who sided with Trump, wrote in a concurrence that the factors the agents were considering “taken together can constitute at least reasonable suspicion of illegal presence in the United States.”

 

“To be clear, apparent ethnicity alone cannot furnish reasonable suspicion; under this court’s case law regarding immigration stops, however, it can be a ‘relevant factor’ when considered along with other salient factors,” Kavanaugh wrote.

 

“Importantly,” Kavanaugh added,“reasonable suspicion means only that immigration officers may briefly stop the individual and inquire about immigration status.”(That’s ridiculous, why are they determining the amount of time they can stop suspected illegals? ‘Freedoms are lost,’ Sotomayor warns

 

The order drew a fiery dissent from Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic justice to serve on the Supreme Court.

 

“We should not have to live in a country where the government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job,” Sotomayor wrote in a dissent joined by Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson. “Rather than stand idly by while our constitutional freedoms are lost, I dissent.”

 

Sotomayor wrote in her dissent that the “on-the-ground reality” of immigration arrests cuts against the federal government’s fears that a court ruling could chill authorities’ ability to detain and deport undocumented migrants.

 

“The evidence in this case, however, reveals that the government is likely to continue relying solely on those four factors because that is what agents are currently authorized and instructed to do,” Sotomayor wrote.

 

Since a district court issued a ruling temporarily barring interrogations and arrests based only on a person’s apparent ethnicity, language or their presence at a particular location, members of the Trump administration have made clear they intend to proceed with their agenda as planned, the justice said.

 

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem “has called the District Judge an ‘idiot’ and vowed that ‘none of [the government’s] operations are going to change,’” Sotomayor wrote. “The CBP Chief Patrol Agent in the Central District has stated that his division will ‘turn and burn’ and ‘go even harder now,’ and has posted videos on social media touting his agents’ continued efforts ‘[c]hasing, cuffing, [and] deporting’ people at car washes.”

Six people were murdered Monday and 12 were wounded, six of them seriously, when a pair of Palestinian terrorists opened fire on vehicles and pedestrians in Jerusalem’s Ramot Junction.

 

The two gunmen, residents of the West Bank, arrived at the junction shortly after 10 a.m. — according to some reports, by car — and opened fire at people waiting at a bus stop as well at a bus that had just stopped there.

 

Police said that a soldier and a number of civilians who were present at the scene fired at the terrorists and killed them.

 

The military said the soldier was an off-duty squad commander in the military’s new Hasmonean Brigade, a unit for ultra-Orthodox troops. Magen David Adom said four of the victims were declared dead at the scene, while two others were rushed to hospital and later succumbed to their wounds.

 

At least six others were listed in serious condition, as well as two whose status was moderate and three who were lightly hurt, according to MDA.

 

The dead were named as Levi Yitzhak Pash, 57, Yaakov Pinto, 25, Yisrael Matzner, 28, and Rabbi Yosef David, 43, Rabbi Mordechai Steintzag, 79, and Sarah Mendelson, 60.

 

The two terrorists were identified by the Shin Bet security agency as Mohammad Taha, 21, from Qatanna, and Muthanna Amro, 20, from Qubeiba. Neither had prior arrests, according to the Shin Bet.

 

The two villages are adjacent to each other on the outskirts of Ramallah in the West Bank, west of the junction and over the Green Line. The Israel Defense Forces said troops were encircling the villages.

In response to Sa’ar’s accusations, Spain’s Foreign Ministry said it was recalling its ambassador from Tel Aviv for consultations.

 

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares made the decision “in the face of the slanderous accusations against Spain and the unacceptable measures against two members of our country’s government,” a foreign ministry source said.

 

The Foreign Ministry in Israel did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the move.

 

The exchange marked a new low in ties between Jerusalem and Madrid, which have steadily deteriorated, as Spain’s government has expressed increasing anger and frustration against Israel over the war in Gaza, sparked by Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack, which killed some 1,200 people, most of them civilians.

 

Spain’s government has prohibited sales and purchases on military equipment with Israel since the start of the war, however, the recently announced measures would enshrine the prohibition in law, Sanchez said in his statement.

 

The Spanish premier added that “those people participating directly in the genocide, the violation of human rights and war crimes in the Gaza Strip” will be barred from entering Spanish territory.

 

Spain will also ban the importation of products from “illegal settlements” in the West Bank with the aim of stopping “the forced displacement of the Palestinian population” and supporting the two-state solution, he continued. Consular services for Spanish citizens residing in Israeli settlements will also be limited “to the legally obligatory minimum assistance.”

US Steel is shutting down a mill in Illinois. Its deal with Trump won’t let it fire its 800 workers - for now

US Steel is shuttering production at a mill in November, but its hundreds of workers will keep their jobs – for now – thanks to an agreement the company reached with the Trump administration.

 

US Steel will stop producing steel at its Granite City, Illinois, mill at the end of October, but the 800 workers at the plant will stay on the job, maintaining equipment, until at least 2027. That’s due to the structure of the deal the company reached with President Donald Trump to allow its purchase by Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel. The agreement included various job protections and production guarantees.

 

“US Steel will optimize its footprint by focusing on producing and processing steel slabs at the Mon Valley (Pennsylvania) Works and Gary (Indiana) Works, and reducing slab consumption at Granite City Works,” the company said in a statement to CNN Monday. “As a result of this decision, US Steel will not lay off any Granite City Works employees nor adjust their pay rate.”

 

The company added that it would not idle the plant, and keep it in an operational state.

 

As for what the workers will be doing without any steel to produce, US Steel said it will continue some ancillary operations and that the facility will be “maintained by employees so production could resume quickly if the situation changes.”

 

Trump promised at a May rally at a US Steel mill outside of Pittsburgh that the deal, and new 50% tariffs on steel imports, would be good for US Steel employees.

 

“The deal got better and better and better for the workers. I’m going to be watching over it. It’s going to be great,” Trump said at the time. “They’re going to be here for a long time… There will be no outsourcing and no layoffs whatsoever.”

 

But the clock is ticking. US Steel’s deal only blocks it from closing Granite City and laying off workers until June of 2027.

 

The White House did not have an immediate comment on the closing plans, nor did the United Steelworkers union. While USW locals in Pennsylvania supported the agreement with Nippon, the larger USW organization objected to the deal.

 

“Issuing press releases and making political speeches is easy,” the union said in a statement after the rally in May.

 

“Binding commitments are hard. The devil is always in the details, and that is especially true with a bad actor like Nippon Steel that has again and again violated our trade laws, devastating steel communities in Pennsylvania and elsewhere.”

 

The plant in question has 700 hourly workers represented by the USW and about 100 salaried staff. But that is a fraction of the 2,000 hourly workers it used to employ when the plant had its own blast furnaces to make steel from raw materials such as iron and coke.

 

Granite City Works first blast furnace was shut in 2019, and its remaining one closed in 2023. Since then, it has only processed slabs made at other mills.

Cybercriminals Exploit X's Grok AI to Bypass Ad Protections and Spread Malware to Millions

 

Cybersecurity researchers have flagged a new technique that cybercriminals have adopted to bypass social media platform X's malvertising protections and propagate malicious links using its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant Grok.

 

The findings were highlighted by Nati Tal, head of Guardio Labs, in a series of posts on X. The technique has been codenamed Grokking.

 

The approach is designed to get around restrictions imposed by X in Promoted Ads that allow users to only include text, images, or videos, and subsequently amplify them to a broader audience, attracting hundreds of thousands of impressions through paid promotion.

 

To achieve this, malvertisers have been found to run video card-promoted posts with adult content as bait, with the spurious link hidden in the "From:" metadata field below the video player by taking advantage of the fact that it's not scanned by the social media platform.

 

It's worth mentioning here that the "From:" field is typically used to indicate the original poster of the video, but has been repurposed by the scammers in this campaign to share a link instead.

 

In the next step, the fraudsters tag Grok in replies to the post using a throwaway account, asking something similar to "where is this video from?," prompting the AI chatbot to visibly display the link in response.

 

"Adding to that, it is now amplified in SEO and domain reputation - after all, it was echoed by Grok on a post with millions of impressions," Tal said.

 

"A malicious link that X explicitly prohibits in ads (and should have been blocked entirely!) suddenly appears in a post by the system-trusted Grok account, sitting under a viral promoted thread and spreading straight into millions of feeds and search results!"

 

Guardio said the links direct users to sketchy ad networks, sending them to malicious links that push fake CAPTCHA scams, information-stealing malware, and other suspicious content via direct link (aka smartlink) monetization.

Trump gives another ‘last warning’ to Hamas

The US president has urged the Palestinian militant group to accept a deal to release Israeli hostages in Gaza

 

US President Donald Trump has issued a “last warning” to Hamas, demanding the Palestinian militant group release Israeli hostages held in Gaza.

Trump warned of unspecified consequences if Hamas refuses to cooperate, in a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday.

 

“The Israelis have accepted my terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning,” the US president said without providing further details.

 

Hours after Trump made the remarks, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened Hamas with annihilation and demanded the Palestinian militants lay down their arms.

 

“This is a final warning to the Hamas murderers and rapists in Gaza and in luxury hotels abroad: Release the hostages and put down your weapons – or Gaza will be destroyed and you will be annihilated,” Katz wrote on X.

 

Hamas has signaled readiness to “immediately sit at the negotiating table” after hearing what it described as “some ideas from the American side aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement.”

 

The latest “last warning” echoed a threat made by Trump in March, when he urged Hamas to immediately release all the living hostages and turn over the bodies of the deceased or end up “dead.”

 

Hamas took around 250 people hostage during the October 7, 2023 surprise attack on southern Israel that left at least 1,200 people dead and prompted the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The group is believed to still hold in custody nearly 50 of them, with around half presumed to still be alive.

 

The conflict, which has dragged on for nearly two years, has taken a heavy toll on the Palestinian enclave, leaving at least 64,000 dead, according to the local health authorities. Israeli military ground operations and heavy artillery and aerial bombardment caused widespread destruction across Gaza and displaced most of its residents.

The EU is on the verge of collapse and will not survive beyond the next decade without a “fundamental structural overhaul” and disentanglement from the Ukraine conflict, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has warned.

 

Speaking on Sunday at the annual Civic Picnic in Kotcse, Orban said the EU has failed to meet its founding ambition of becoming a global power and cannot handle current challenges due to the absence of a common fiscal policy. He described the bloc as entering a phase of “chaotic and costly disintegration,” and warned that the 2028-2035 EU budget “could be the last if nothing changes.”

 

“The EU is currently on the verge of falling apart and has entered a state of fragmentation. And if this continues like this… it will go down in history as the depressing end result of a once noble experiment,” Orban stated.

 

He proposed transforming the EU into “concentric circles.”

 

The outer ring would include countries cooperating on military and energy security, the second circle would comprise common market members, the third would contain those sharing a currency, while the innermost would include members seeking deeper political alignment. In Orban’s view, this would broaden cooperation without restricting development.

 

“This means that we are in the same car, we have one gearbox, but we want to move at different paces… If we can switch to this system, the great idea of European cooperation… could survive,” he said.

 

Orban accused Brussels of overreliance on common debt and of using the Ukraine conflict as a pretext to continue this policy. As long as the conflict lasts, the EU will remain a “lame duck,” dependent on the US for security and unable to act independently in economic affairs, he said. Orban also suggested that instead of “lobbying in Washington,” the EU should “go to Moscow” to pursue a security agreement with Russia, followed by an economic deal.

 

Orban is not alone in his concerns. Analysts from the International Monetary Fund and other institutions have warned that the EU risks stagnation and even collapse due to structural challenges, weak growth, poor investment, high energy costs, and geopolitical tensions.
