Trump slams New York Times as ‘serious threat to national security’

President Trump slammed the New York Times as “a serious threat to the national security of our nation” in a late-night Truth Social post.

While he didn’t provide context for the statement, his post came days after the newspaper published an in-depth report about his relationship with the late sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein.

“The Failing New York Times, and their lies and purposeful misrepresentations, is a serious threat to the National Security of our Nation,” Trump wrote just after midnight Monday.

Tragic new details in Rob and Michele Reiner’s murders emerge as death certificates are released

Tragic new details in Rob and Michele Reiner’s murders have emerged after the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health released the couple’s death certificates.

According to the documents, which were obtained Tuesday by Page Six, the actor-director and his wife died on Sunday, Dec. 14, within “minutes” of receiving “multiple sharp force injuries” with a “knife, by another.”

Their bodies were cremated, and their remains were returned to their son Jake Reiner, 34.

The night before the murders, Rob and Michele brought Nick to a Christmas party at Conan O’Brien’s house.

They were reportedly “reluctant to leave him home alone” because his “extreme and stressful behavior” had escalated and “grown degrees even more concerning in recent weeks.”

During the bash, where Nick was observed behaving strangely and getting into an argument with his parents, Rob reportedly said he was “petrified” that Nick could one day “hurt” him.

About a month prior, doctors reportedly changed Nick’s schizophrenia medications, which led to him acting “erratic and dangerous.”

They were reportedly in the process of adjusting his meds to stabilize him when tragedy struck.

BREAKING: Reports of Mass Shooting at Delaware DMV, Police Report Suspect in Custody

Delaware State Police have taken a suspect into custody after reports of an active shooter at a Wilmington DMV sparked mass panic and a massive emergency response on Tuesday morning.

Despite the initial reports of several victims, Delaware State Police later clarified that no shots were actually fired during the encounter. The suspect was apprehended without further violence, and there were no reported gunshot injuries among the staff or the citizens who were at the facility for holiday related services. The DMV, which had been operating on its normal Tuesday schedule just two days before Christmas, was immediately placed on lockdown and eventually closed to the public as investigators worked to process the scene.

Authorities say a woman has been charged with murder in her 9-year-old daughter death. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that 40-year-old Ashlee Buzzard was taken into custody. Authorities say the remains of 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard were found in Utah. Police believe she has been dead since October when she first went missing. Her mother has been charged with murder. Detectives have been searching for the child since a school administrator reported her prolonged absence Oct. 14.

Greta Thunberg has been arrested at a demonstration in central London after the 22-year-old was seen holding a sign reading 'I support the Palestine Action prisoners'

Climate activist Greta Thunberg has been arrested at a demonstration in central London.

A video shared by the Prisoners for Palestine protest group showed the 22-year-old holding a sign reading "I support the Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide" at offices of Aspen Insurance. The group says the company has been targeted because it provides services to the Israeli-linked defence firm Elbit Systems.

Red paint was sprayed over the front of the building by two activists before police arrived and made arrests.

Six prisoners linked to Palestine Action are currently refusing food in British jails.

Qesser Zuhrah, 20, Amu Gib, 30, Kamran Ahmed, 28, Heba Muraisi, 31, Teuta Hoxha, 29, and Lewie Chiaramello, 22, are all refusing food as they campaign for the Government to end its ban on Palestine Action.

The group are accused of involvement in break-ins at a UK factory operated by Israel's largest weapons manufacturer, Elbit, near Bristol and a Royal Air Force base in Oxfordshire last year, during which two military planes were spray-painted.

They are calling on the Government to end its ban on Palestine Action, end restrictions on their communications, and shut down Elbit.

Lawyers representing the activists have criticised deputy prime minister and justice secretary David Lammy for refusing to meet them. They say Lammy failed to comply with the Ministry of Justice's own policy on handling hunger strikes.

It comes as two of the hunger strikers, Kamran Ahmed and Amu Gib, were hospitalised after their health reached a critical point following more than 40 days without food.

Russell Brand charged with 2 more counts of rape, sexual assault

LONDON - Comedian and actor Russell Brand has been charged with two more counts of rape and sexual assault.

The alleged offenses took place in 2009, the CPS said.

What's next:

Brand is expected to appear next in court on Jan. 20, in relation to the two new charges brought against him. A trial has also been scheduled for June next year and is expected to last four to five weeks.

"I was a fool before I lived in the light of the Lord," he said in a social media video. "I was a drug addict, a sex addict and an imbecile. But what I never was a rapist. I’ve never engaged in nonconsensual activity. I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes."

A Christmastime U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation named Operation "Angel’s Honor" in tribute to murdered Georgia nursing student Laken Riley netted over 1,000 criminal illegal aliens, according to the agency.

ICE announced the "successful conclusion" of a 14-day enforcement operation that it said resulted in over 1,030 criminal illegal aliens arrested under the Laken Riley Act.

The agency said the operation was codenamed "Angel’s Honor" in memory of Riley, who was murdered by Venezuelan illegal alien Jose Ibarra in 2024. Congress passed the Laken Riley Act with bipartisan support in January, and the measure was signed into law by President Donald Trump shortly after he took office.

The law stipulates mandatory detention of non-citizens charged with specific crimes, including burglary, theft, larceny, shoplifting, assault on a law enforcement officer, or any crime causing serious bodily injury or death.

Among those arrested was Jamie Escobar-Mirales, a 37-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, who ICE said was arrested on Dec. 18. According to the agency, his criminal history includes an arrest for two counts of rape of a child. He is now facing removal proceedings. 

A different illegal immigrant from Mexico named Javier Diaz-Cabrera, 40, was arrested on Dec. 18. He has a criminal history that includes an arrest for illegal sexual contact with a victim under the age of 13 and sexual assault with a victim under 18 by a guardian.

Evelyn Martinez-Rodriguez, a 36-year-old from Honduras, was arrested on Dec. 9. ICE said her criminal history includes arrests for assault-torture/willful abuse of a child, domestic violence assault, assault and public order crimes.

Another illegal, Fredy Garcia-Canan, a 34-year-old from Guatemala, was arrested on Dec. 19. He has an outstanding removal order from 2024 and has a criminal history including an arrest for intentional bodily harm with a deadly weapon, criminal discharge of a firearm and aggravated endangering to a child. Guatemalan illegal Brandon Barrientos-Garcia, 28, was also arrested on Dec. 19. His criminal history includes an arrest for assault by strangulation, breaking/entering to terrorize/injure and domestic violence assault, per ICE.

‘God forbid I was a black person’

A prominent Rhode Island Democrat was caught on camera belligerently chiding a cop and calling him a “d–k” during a wild DUI traffic stop where she ranted, “God forbid I was a black person, I’d be arrested.”

Cranston Democratic Committee chair Maria Bucci — who is connected to the state gubernatorial candidate — berated police with a series of insults while asking them “You know who I am, right?” when she was pulled over shortly after midnight last Thursday on an East Greenwich road, the bodycam footage shows.

The numerous outbursts took place while East Greenwich cops were attempting to conduct a field sobriety test outside her car before she was taken into custody and hit with a misdemeanor DUI charge, according to reports.

A minute later as one of the cops gave her instructions to walk in a straight line, she shouted at her cousin waiting in her vehicle.

“Call my husband right now, and call the attorney general and everybody else in town,” the former Cranston councilwoman screeched.

“You’re a d–k, give me the camera, you’re a d–k,” she said. “Like I am not drinking, you’re a loser.”

Bucci, 51, is facing charges of driving under the influence first offense, blood alcohol concentration unknown, which is a misdemeanor, according to the Boston Globe, citing court filings.

She appears well-known in Democratic circles in the Ocean State after unsuccessfully running for Cranston mayor in 2020 and state representative in 2024, according to reports.
