Just pulling an idea out of my ass here. The new Basel III requirements went into effect on Monday I believe. These essentially spell out that banks must be their own safety net because da goobermint ain't bailing their sorry asses out anymoar.

Banks must now maintain a certain level of ready capital to cover their obligations. Word is that JPM alone has 175 million ounces of silver. JPM is also one of the primary metals market manipulators suppressing prices.

My theory is that all JPM and friends had to do to raise/obtain this capital was to let metals rise in price to a level that covers the Basel III requirements.

If I'm right (along shot) then the ~$90/oz level will be the new floor and raising the capital cost them nothing.

There was a video on YouTube I watched years ago about cigarette manufacturing. LEWISTON, Maine – Law enforcement agents executed a search warrant Friday at th3 Mogadishu Store, also known as The Little Mogadishu Store, located at 240 Lisbon St., as part of an ongoing fraud investigation, according to witness accounts and information confirmed to The Maine Wire.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing two blacked-out sedans parked outside the business while authorities entered the premises. The activity drew attention along the busy Lisbon Street corridor as agents conducted the search inside the store.

According to information obtained by The Maine Wire, the operation is connected to a broader investigation into an alleged $4.5 million fraud scheme. The specific nature of the suspected fraud has not been publicly detailed, and officials have not indicated whether any arrests were made during the search.

Branding himself as a “disruptor, a job creator and a fanatic Maine optimist,” the health care entrepreneur launched his campaign at the Belfast headquarters of athenahealth, a company he founded in 1997 but was eventually ousted from.

In a launch video, Bush outlined some of the changes he hopes to make as governor, including auditing the government, investing in trade schools and jumpstarting the economy “by getting rid of silly regulations.”

“To change things, I’m going to have to break a few eggs along the way,” he said in the video.

Bush moved to Cape Elizabeth in recent years, though he grew up spending his summers on North Haven.

This summer, Bush launched Maine for Keeps, a podcast and advocacy group that he has described as a “solutions factory” aimed at improving the state’s business environment.

“Mainers want a leader who will shake up the status quo in Augusta. They want a proven job creator who will make sure our kids don’t have to leave the state to achieve the American Dream,” Bush said in a statement ahead of the announcement.

Bush started his business career with the founding of health care billing and software company athenahealth in 1997. Just over 20 years later, Bush was ousted amid the company’s sale to a private hedge fund after reports of physical altercations with his ex-wife were made public. Bush later founded Boston-based health data platform company Zus, where he currently serves as CEO.

Bush is entering an already crowded race with more than a half dozen Republican candidates who will compete in the June 6 primary, which will determine who will be nominated for the November 2026 ballot.

The Republican primary has so far not drawn any candidate who can match the political experience or name recognition as the Democratic side, which includes former legislative leaders and children of two of Maine’s sitting members of Congress.

In a statement Wednesday, Maine Democratic Party Chair Charlie Dingman said, “We don’t need a governor who thinks that taking care of business is more important than taking care of families or making sure that the economy and the government both treat ordinary people fairly and protect their dignity and freedom.”

Russia called the Trump administration’s threats to take over Greenland “extraordinary” on Friday, adding it would continue monitoring the situation.

“The situation is unusual, I would even say extraordinary from the standpoint of international law,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to comments reported by Russian state news outlet Ria Novosti.

U.S. President Donald Trump has talked up acquiring Greenland, a self-governing Danish territory, since a daring military operation to depose Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Jan. 3. He said the U.S. needs Greenland for national security and that only Washington can counter an alleged threat from Russia and China to the island.

Peskov added that Trump “has said that international law is not a priority for him. The situation is developing along a different trajectory, and we, along with the rest of the world, will be watching to see which one.”

A spokesperson for the Kremlin was not immediately available to comment when contacted by CNBC.

Abstract

We demonstrated in 1985 that vanadium administered in the drinking water to streptozotocin (STZ) diabetic rats restored elevated blood glucose to normal. Subsequent studies have shown that vanadyl sulfate can lower elevated blood glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides in a variety of diabetic models including the STZ diabetic rat, the Zucker fatty rat and the Zucker diabetic fatty rat. Long-term studies of up to one year did not show toxicity in control or STZ rats administered vanadyl sulfate in doses that lowered elevated blood glucose. In the BB diabetic rat, a model of insulin-dependent diabetes, vanadyl sulfate lowered the insulin requirement by up to 75%. Vanadyl sulfate is effective orally when administered by either single dose or chronic doses. It is also effective by the intraperitoneal route. We have also been able to demonstrate marked long-term effects of vanadyl sulfate in diabetic animals following treatment and withdrawal of vanadyl sulfate. Because vanadyl sulfate is not well absorbed we have synthesized and tested a number of organic vanadium compounds. One of these, bismaltolato-oxovanadium IV (BMOV), has shown promise as a therapeutic agent. BMOV is 2-3x more potent than vanadyl sulfate and has shown less toxicity. Recent studies from our laboratory have shown that the effects of vanadium are not due to a decrease in food intake and that while vanadium is deposited in bone it does not appear to affect bone strength or architecture. The mechanism of action of vanadium is currently under investigation. Several studies indicate that vanadium is a phosphatase inhibitor and that vanadium can activate serine/threonine kinases distal to the insulin receptor presumably by preventing dephosphorylation due to inhibition of phosphatases Short-term clinical trials using inorganic vanadium compounds in diabetic patients have been promising.
