The attempted assassination of a high-ranking Russian general is an attempt to sabotage talks and extend the Kiev regime’s stay in power

The assassination attempt on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev, first deputy chief of Russia’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU)is clearly the Zelensky regime’s latest desperate bid to sabotage the emerging Russia-Ukraine-US negotiations channelin Abu Dhabi and prolong the war.

When negotiations gain traction, spoilers surface. That’s Negotiations 101. And this week’s second round in Abu Dhabi was precisely the kind of movement that unnerves actors who fear ballots, reforms, and accountability more than inevitable defeat on the battlefield.

The target choice reinforces the point. Alekseyev is the second-in-commandof GRU chief Igor Kostyukov – who sits on the Russian delegation in Abu Dhabi. Striking the No. 2 as the No. 1shuttles between sessions is both a very deliberate messageand an attempt to rattle Russia’s delegation, inject chaos into its decision loop, force security overdrive, and ultimately, provoke Moscow’s withdrawal from the talks.

Nor is this the first time kinetic theater has tracked with diplomatic motion. Recall the attempted drone strike on President Vladimir Putin’s Valdai residence in late 2025, which coincided with particularly intense US-Russia exchanges.You don’t have to be a cynicto see a pattern: whenever the diplomatic door cracks open, someone try to slam it shut with explosives, drones, or bullets – then retreats behind a smokescreen of denials and proxies. Call it plausible deniability as policy.

Why would Kiev’s leadership gamble like this? Start with raw political incentives. Vladimir Zelensky extended his tenure beyond the intended March 2024 election under martial law.If hostilities wind down and emergency powers lift, the ballot box looms.

His standing has eroded amid war fatigue, unmet expectations, and a massive corruption scandal swirling around the presidential administration that has infuriated many Ukrainians and dealt his image a blow.End the war without a narrative of total victory, and he risks owning a messy peace, grueling reconstruction, and a reckoning at the polls.

Facing voters at a stadium famously worked well during Zelensky’s initial presidential campaign,but now endlessly moving the goalposts is his only hope of clinging to power.

Then there’s the strategic logic of spoilers. Negotiations compress time, clarify tradeoffs, and create deadlines – none of which benefit maximalists. Predictably, defenders will object: Kiev has every incentive to keep US support flowing, so why risk alienating Washington with an operation that screams escalation?But ‘incentives’ aren’t monolithic. They’re filtered through domestic politics, factional competition within security services, and the temptations of a successful spectacle. And remember: spoilers don’t have to be centrally ordered to be useful. A wink, a nod, and a green light to ‘make pressure’ can travel a long way in wartime bureaucracies.

The most important thing for Russia and the US at this stage is to firewall the talks from such bloody theatrics. For the negotiation process to provide real results, it must be built to survive shocks – because the shocks will keep coming. That means insulating prisoner‑exchange and humanitarian working groups from headline provocations, revalidating military deconfliction channels, and demanding verifiable behavior changes rather than trading barbs about attribution in the press.

The larger point is simpler: if we let every well‑timed bullet dictate the pace of diplomacy,we are outsourcing strategy to those who most fear peace. The Alekseyev attack fits a familiar script – choose a symbolically loaded target, hijack the narrative, and hope negotiators flinch.The right response is the opposite: call the bluff, keep the calendar, and raise the cost of sabotage by refusing to let it reset the table.

Zelensky’s regime may calculate that its political survival depends on endlessly throwing up hurdles for peace and call it ‘resistance’. If so, the fastest way to test that proposition is to keep pressing at the negotiating table. Talks are not a favor to one side; they are a filter that separates leaders who can face an endgame from those who can only survive in the fog of “not yet.”

Morethan 900Google workers have signed an open letter condemning recent actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), urging the tech giant to disclose its dealings with the agencies and divest from them.

Note:Google has approximately 183,323 full-time employees as of early 2026. The company has seen significant growth in its workforce since its founding in 1998. from AI. So why is 1,000 employees important.

The letter, citing recent ICE killings ofKeith Porter, Renee Good, and Alex Pretti, said that the employees are “appalled by the violence” and “horrified” by Google’s part in it.

“Google is powering this campaign of surveillance, violence, and repression,” the letter reads. (GOOGLE AND YOU GUYS ARE MAKING FAR WORSE WEAPONS AND MILITARY TOOLS TO KILL PEOPLE, WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT?)

It goes on to cite that Google Cloud is aiding CBP surveillance and powering Palantir’s ImmigrationOS system, which is used by ICE. The letter states that Google’s generative artificial intelligence is used by CBP and that the Google Play Store has blocked ICE tracking apps.

The letter also quotes a social media post by Google Chief Scientist Jeff Dean from early January, who wrote, “We all bear a collective responsibility to speak up and not be silent when we see things like the events of the last week.”

“We are vehemently opposed to Google’s partnerships with DHS, CBP, and ICE,” the employees wrote. “We consider it our leadership’s ethical and policy-bound responsibility to disclose all contracts and collaboration with CBP and ICE, and to divest from these partnerships.”

The letter calls on Google to acknowledge the danger that workers face from ICE, host an emergency internal Q&A on the company’s DHS and military contracts, implement safety measures to protect workers — such as flexible work-from-home policies and immigration support — and reveal its ties with the government agencies to help all involved determine where the company will draw a line.

“As workers of conscience, we demand that our leadership end our backslide into contracting for governments enacting violence against civilians,” the letter reads. “Google is now a prominent node in a shameful lineage of private companies profiting from violent state repression. We must use this moment to come together as a Googler community and demand an end to this disgraceful use of our labor.”

Google did not immediately respond to a CNBC request for comment.

The letter comes as employees place mounting pressure on tech CEOs to speak out against ICE. Just two weeks prior, employees representing Amazon, Spotify, Meta and more wrote a similar letter demanding ICE “out of our cities.”

I like it. When you say "top of the hill", do you mean at the Frenchcap Cay Lookout?

Also, on your question regarding the use of sod rather then seed for the grass areas at the house; I would recommend so= in such a small area. Grass seed will take several months to really fill in solid and won't take any foot traffic until it's established. Seeding is better suited for the large open areas.

Homeland security field agents are scouring the social media site Reddit, monitoring the communications of law-abiding Americans critical of the agency.

The spying is revealed in a January intelligence bulletin produced by the Border Patrol and leaked to me. The subject of the report is Reddit user “Budget-Chicken-2425,” who is not a narco-trafficker, gang member, or terrorist. Just someone concerned about federal overreach.

The report centers on Budget-Chicken’s call for a protest near a Border Patrol facility in Edinburg, Texas. Though the report acknowledges that anti-ICE protests throughout Texas have been “generally lawful” and that there’s no evidence of any threat posed by Budget-Chicken’s call, any protest whatsoever near the border patrol facility is said to “warrant continued monitoring.”

To quote directly from the intelligence bulletin:

“At this time, there is no specific reporting of planned violence targeting DHS personnel or facilities linked to this protest call; however, any demonstration in proximity to USBP [United States Border Patrol] RGV [Rio Grande Valley] facilities may present operational, safety, and reputational risks that warrant continued monitoring.”

Budget-Chicken’s offending Reddit post was on the r/RioGrandeValley channel. Titled “Join me in protest against ICE,” the post is just a few sentences long, calling on “neighbors, family and community” to “be witnesses and to spread awareness” by protesting a Border Patrol station.

Innocuous as this may seem, it is what the intelligence bulletin regards as a threat.

At one point the bulletin inadvertently reveals the “intelligence collection requirements” driving this surveillance—a window into how the federal government justifies this kind of social media snooping on Americans. According to these requirements, much of the work is sanctioned under so-called “Force Protection,” a military term for safeguarding troops from enemy attack. By repurposing this battlefield concept, homeland security is treating a Reddit thread like a hostile environment.

But the homeland security spies are interested in more than just Budget-Chicken. They are using Reddit to gauge the vibe of the country at large and what they think of immigration authorities like themselves. (They could simply consult public polling, which most recently suggests that almost two-thirds of Americans believe immigration enforcement has “gone too far.”)

In a section titled “Pattern, Trend, and Relationship Analysis,” the bulletin gives a sense of the sheer volume of data homeland security collects to generate a big-picture view of what’s going on in the country. One specific priority asks:

“What groups or individuals are responsible for, or are associated with, border violence and what is the intended impact to CBP [Customs and Border Protection] personnel and operations?” (That ultimately feeds into the creation of databases and watchlists of offending Americans.)

The bulletin says homeland security is tracking three social trends in particular:

⦁ Social Media-Driven Mobilization

⦁ Symbolic Targeting of Government Facilities

⦁ A Statewide Baseline of Mobilization Potential

⦁ Leaked intelligence bulletin

In other words, the government is building a sociological profile of political discontent. The bulletin notes that these protests are “perception-driven”—meaning they are motivated by “generalized concerns about rights” rather than specific incidents. In the logic of national security, a lack of a specific trigger makes the public more unpredictable and therefore calls for “situational awareness.”

The bulletin notes that Chicken “frequently participates in various community discussions,” listing their interests in r/Texans (comparing the team to the Cleveland Browns), r/movies (discussing the film Almost Famous), r/stephenking (sharing book collections), and r/FuckImOld (reminiscing about 1970s television production logos).

Leaked intelligence bulletin:The disconnect between the “lawful” reality of the protest and the agency’s internal panic is most visible in a “BOLO” (Be On The Look Out) alert included in the appendix. Despite the bulletin’s own admission that there is “no specific reporting of planned violence,” the Rio Grande Valley Sector Operations Center issued the following warning to its agents: “It is recommended that all agents wear their ballistic armor, utilize long arms, and if possible, work in groups.”

ICE Urges Newsom Not To Release 33,179 Criminal Illegal Immigrants Into Communities

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have requested the state of California and Gov. Gavin Newsom not to release over 33,000 criminal illegal immigrants with ICE detainers back into the streets, ICE said in a Feb. 6 statement

California’s failure to honor ICE detainers has resulted in the release of 4,561 criminal illegal immigrants since Jan. 20, ICE said in its statement.

“There are currently 33,179 aliens in the custody of a California jurisdiction with active detainers. The crimes of these aliens include 399 homicides, 3,313 assaults, 3,171 burglaries, 1,011 robberies, 8,380 dangerous drugs offenses, 1,984 weapons offenses, and 1,293 sexual predatory offenses.”

Some of the illegal immigrants already released from California jails into communities include a Mexican national arrested for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age, a Chinese national arrested for sexual battery, a Mexican national who has been arrested for a sex offender violation, and a Guatemalan convicted of first-degree murder.

DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin accused Newsom and other “sanctuary politicians” in the state of putting American lives at risk by releasing criminals into neighborhoods.

“Criminal illegal aliens should not be released from jails back onto our streets to terrorize more innocent Americans. If we work together, we can make America safe again. 7 of the 10 safest cities in the U.S. cooperate with ICE law enforcement,” McLaughlin said.

For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years.

The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars.

It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city.

High Court of Australia case challenges corrupt election funding laws

WILL the High Court of Australia strike down Victoria’s strict caps on political donations that favour the major parties, and the Labor Party in particular.

The so-called “law” says unions and whomever can donate millions to the big three parties, but an individual can only donate a maximum of $4000.

The case is part of a wider move by independents fighting plans to curb their fundraising, with former federal politicians Zoe Daniel and Rex Patrick also recently filing an application to the High Court to challenge federal caps on donations.

But last week the High Court case was centred on Victoria, where individual donations are now capped at $4,900 every four years.

Lawyers for independent candidates Melissa Lowe and Paul Hopper say the legislated rule places a burden on the implied freedom of political communication under the Constitution.

The problem is that the same rule does not apply to the major parties, which can draw from nominated fundraising entities, such as the Liberals’ Cormack Foundation and Labor’s Labor Services and Holdings, which can make large donations to campaigns above the cap.

“These laws are anti-democratic and unfair, entrenching massive financial advantages to the major parties and denying a level playing field to independent and minor party candidates,” Ms Lowe told the ABC.

“They are a rort designed to entrench the major party duopoly at the very time they attract lower support than ever from Victorian voters.”

Independent candidates like Victorian Ian Cook, who has been fighting a long legal battle against the Victorian Labor Government over its corrupt dealings with councils over aged care meal services, is supporting the challenge. Cook ran as an independent in former Premier Daniel Andrews’ seat at the last Victorian election.

Under the present laws if someone donates anything over $1000 they automatically identify themselves. But unionists and others behind the major parties can simply rely on their unions to do the election funding job.

According to our source, the Federal Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus is also going to try to enter the fray as it appears that the Federal Government wants the same sort of set-up for federal elections, which is essentially a way of ensuring that the UnaParties stay in power.

Mr Hopper said the 2022 Victorian election was rigged against the minor anti-Labor parties – a reference to the group voting tickets system used for elections only in the Victorian Upper House that funnels votes to minor parties like Animal Justice and Legalise Cannabis who currently give the Labor Government a majority in the Upper House.

That a multinational cabal of sadistic, rapacious pedophiles has infested every major institution of the West, insulated from the law, has never been more indisputable than at present.

For years, for reasons that make no logical sense, this simple reflection of reality was coded as “right-wing conspiracy theory” and dismissed out of hand by the self-professed practitioners of respectable journalism.

Furthermore, anyone espousing it — we all remember #Pizzagate, the purveyors of which have been vindicated in spades with the recent Epstein email dump — was portrayed as a threat to Democracy™ who ought to have their social media accounts suspended and should probably be prosecuted for hate speech.

That was then; this is now.

What a difference a few million emails from Epstein and Co. make — replete with obviously coded language about “young coconuts from Thailand,” “grape soda,” and “cheese pizza,” apparent references to activities with child sex slaves of various flavors — or worse.

Of course, the left will issue no apologies for their years of denialism and shaming of anyone espousing basic reality, as they find themselves blissfully unencumbered by shame — a superpower of sorts.

Still, as evidenced by their recent concessions, denying reality is no longer viable.

Leftist influencer after leftist influencer, many of whom I follow for reconnaissance purposes, have essentially conceded the premise of Pizzagate,— even while going out of their way not to mention the term “Pizzagate” because they demagogued so aggressively about it — which is that elites avail themselves of the services of child sex slaves for their personal entertainment as well as to blackmail each other and generally relish their position entirely above the law.

The Mutual Blackmail Club — the Big Club that you ain’t in, comprised of the “real owners of this country,” as George Carlin put it — is now out in the open.

The moral of this story is: the entrenched permanent managerial class — which, despite his promises, Trump has made no serious inroads to purging — is not going to prosecute itself.

Only a serious grassroots political movement can force consequences — one that arguably cannot be born out of the current balkanized political landscape.

NIH Allocates $10 Million For Research In East Palestine Three Years After Toxic Train Crash

Three years have passed since a Norfolk Southern freight train carrying hazardous chemicals derailed in East Palestine, an eastern Ohio village near the Pennsylvania border.

On Feb. 3, the disaster’s third anniversary, The National Institutes of Health (NIH) held a grand opening ceremony for the East Palestine Train Derailment Health Research Program Office.

The office will serve as the home to a five-year, $10 million research initiative to assess and address the long-term health outcomes stemming from the derailment.

“NIH’s research hub offers the people of East Palestine a pathway to clear answers about their health they deserve,” said Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“Everyone affected by this environmental disaster deserves access to independent, gold-standard science that puts their well-being first.”

Life in East Palestine abruptly changed around 9 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2023.

The crew of a Norfolk Southern Railway freight train carrying 151 cars saw smoke and fire, and realized that 38 cars had derailed.

The flammable, toxic chemicals in 11 derailed cars had ignited, with flames spreading to an additional 12 cars.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, nine cars were carrying hazardous materials in addition to the 11 that derailed.

The hazardous chemicals, including vinyl chloride in some of the rail cars, began to spill onto the ground and into the air.

Vinyl chloride is used to make PVC pipes and other products.

The National Cancer Institute notes that the toxic chemical has been linked to cancers of the brain, lungs, blood, lymphatic system, and liver.

Vinyl chloride creates carbon monoxide and hydrogen chloride when it burns.

When the latter mixes with water, it generates hydrochloric acid, a corrosive substance that can burn the skin and eyes, and is toxic if inhaled.
