Info is slowly dripping out as to the extent of the Iranian attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia that occurred on March 27th. Multiple U.S. military aircraft are reported to have been damaged. This is beyond the toll on U.S. service members, which sits at 10 injured, some of them critically. While high-resolution commercial satellite imagery of the Middle East from U.S. companies remains delayed for weeks, foreign satellite images purport to show major damage on the base’s main apron. Now, photos from ground level appear to show one of the USAF’s prized E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft totally destroyed.

 

The images were first posted on the Air Force amn/nco/snco Facebook page and have since spread across social media.The photos show E-3 serial #81-0005’s rear fuselage totally burned out and destroyed. There is debris all around the aircraft. It’s worth noting that a direct strike, while certainly possible here, is often not required to destroy an aircraft. The shrapnel from a nearby impact can do so, too, especially if a fire is ignited. The attack reportedly included long-range one-way attack drones and ballistic missiles.

Satellite imagery from prior to when major U.S. commercial providers, specifically Plant Labs, began delaying photos of the Middle East, shows aircraft parked across the main apron and other high-value assets, like the E-3s, parked on isolated taxiways around the airfield. This is clearly an attempt to minimize damage from Iranian long-range weapons by spreading out the aircraft. It’s very possible these aircraft were shuffled around in order to make targeting more challenging.

 

At least five other tankers were also damaged in a strike on Prince Sultan Air Base earlier in the conflict. The installation, which sits outside of Riyadh, has come under repeated attack. It is a major operating location for American aircraft supporting the war effort.

 

The loss of an E-3 Sentry is a major development. The aircraft are critical for spotting incoming barrages and coordinating the air war. The U.S. sent six to the Middle East prior to the war beginning and additional airborne early assets may be headed that way, if they are not already in theater now.The U.S. only had 16 E-3s remaining, with the rickety fleet nearly cut in half as it struggles to maintain readiness in its old age. With low availability, far fewer than the 16 that remain in service are ready to operate at any given time…

WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance speculated that UFOs could actually be “demons” flying around Earth, contending that ancient civilizations believed they had encounters with such vile creatures.

 

“I don’t think they’re aliens. I think they’re demons anyway, but that’s a long discussion,” Vance told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson.

 

“I mean, every great world religion, including Christianity, the one I believe in, as understood, there are weird things out there,” he later added. “When I hear about [an] extra natural phenomenon, that’s where I go to: The Christian understanding that there’s a lot of good out there, but there’s also evil out there.

 

“I think that one of the devil’s great tricks is to convince people he never existed.”

Notably, right-wing pundit Tucker Carlson had conveyed similar beliefs about unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) being demons rather than aliens. Carlson also claimed to have been attacked in the middle of the night by a demon and left with claw marks while sleeping next to his wife and dog.

 

Vance, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, underscored his obsession with UAPs and vowed to “get to the bottom of it.”

“When I came in, I was obsessed with the UFO files, and you start getting really busy worrying about the economy and national security, and things like that. But I’ve still got three years left as vice president,” Vance.

 

“I have not been able to spend enough time on this to really understand it, but I am going to. Trust me, I’m obsessed with this,” he added. “I’m more curious than anybody, and I’ve got three years of the very tippy top of the classification.”

 

The veep admitted that he wants to go explore Area 51, but hasn’t been able to yet due to scheduling concerns.

 

Vance’s head-turning remarks on UAPs come weeks after former President Barack Obama casually claimed on a liberal podcast that aliens are “real.”

“But I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51,” he added, initially without clarifying where the aliens are.

 

Later, Obama clarified that he believes aliens exist but “saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us.”

Shortly after that, President Trump announced that his administration was starting “the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”

 

“I don’t know if they’re real or not,” Trump told reporters at the time, when asked about aliens. “I may get him [Obama] out of trouble by declassifying.”

 

During his first administration, Trump told ABC News that he didn’t particularly believe in aliens.
