Karen Bass maintains lead as undecided voters drop in L.A. mayor raceBS

Incumbent Karen Bass appears to be holding her lead in the primary election for Los Angeles mayor as main challengers Spencer Pratt and Nithya Raman also pick up support from previously undecided voters, according to a poll released Wednesday morning.

 

Results from the latest Emerson College Polling/Inside California Politics surveyshow Bass leading the field in her re-election bid with 30% support, followed by reality television star Spencer Pratt at 22% and Councilwoman Nithya Raman with 19%.

 

Entrepreneur Adam Miller, at 7%, and housing advocate Rae Huang, at 4%, round out the field, while 16% of voters remain undecided.

All three of the frontrunning candidates showed significant gains from an Emerson poll released in March, which had Bass at 20%, Pratt at 10% and Raman at 9%.

 

While Bass has not widened her lead over Pratt or Raman since the March polling, the share of undecided voters has dropped sharply, falling from 51% to just 16%.

 

The new poll was released a week after Bass, Pratt and Raman squared off in a mayoral debate where the candidates clashed over homelessness, housing and public safety.

 

“Everybody needs to go inside,” Pratt said when asked whether homeless people should be forced off the streets under certain circumstances.

 

Bass pushed back on criminalization as a solution.

 

“Making it illegal and arresting people is not the way to solve this problem,” the mayor said.

Raman also said unhoused people should go inside when shelter is offered.

 

The primary election is scheduled for June 2. A candidate must win more than 50% of the vote to avoid a runoff. If no one reaches that threshold, the top two finishers advance to the November election.

CIA spy BLAMES Dr Fauci for covering up Chinese COVID lab leak by 'injecting himself' into top-secret probe

An active CIA agent has accused Dr. Anthony Fauci of orchestrating a cover-up that derailed American spies from blaming the Covid pandemic on China.

CIA officer James Erdman told senators on Capitol Hill that in August 2021, the intelligence community was on the verge of concluding the pandemic leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China.

But just days before the bombshell finding could be released, Fauci 'injected himself' into the probe and 'significantly influenced' intelligence officials to drop their conclusion. Fauci was then head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

'Dr. Fauci's role in the cover-up was intentional,' Erdman told the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday morning.

'Dr. Fauci influenced the analytical process and findings by leveraging his position to ensure the IC [Intelligence Community] consulted with a conflicted list of curated subject matter experts, public health officials and scientists,' he said.

Republican Senator Rand Paul asked Erdman, a career CIA special operations officer, whether Fauci played a 'significant' role in CIA scientists abandoning their consensus that the disease originated from a lab.

'It was significantly influenced,' Erdman replied before claiming that documentation shows the CIA was poised to declare Covid a lab leak on August 12, 2021. Just five days later, on August 17, that position had mysteriously flipped.

The lab leak theory states that Covid-19 escaped from a Chinese research lab in Wuhan rather than spreading naturally from animals to humans. The CIA officially backed the claim with 'low confidence' in January 2025 after years of refusing to take a position on the virus's origins.

Tensions between Senator Paul and the CIA have flared after the agency accused the senator of acting in bad faith by subpoenaing Erdman to testify before the committee.

Fauci has not responded to the latest allegations.

Erdman also revealed at Wednesday's Senate hearing that the CIA 'illegally monitored' the phones and computers of federal analysts investigating the origins of the virus.

'The CIA illegally monitored the computer and phone usage of DIG [Director's Initiatives Group] personnel, their investigations, and contact with whistleblowers,' he added.

The CIA officer went on to claim these Americans were spied on at the direction of then-President Joe Biden.

While Vandenberg SFB’s host unit officially became Space Launch Delta 30 May 9, 2021, its roots stretch back to the dawn of the Space Race.

Originally established in 1941 as the U.S. Army's Camp Cooke, the installation transferred to the Air Force in 1957.

One year after the launch of the OneWeb Copernicus Data Hub project, Austrian Earth‑observation services provider GeoVille, together with the European Space Agency (ESA) and Eutelsat, is showing how this can be achieved in practice.

 

The project focuses on connecting Copernicus satellite data with the right people, in the right place, at the right time.

By combining smart data compression with satellite broadband connectivity from Eutelsat’s low Earth orbit OneWeb constellation for satellite communications, large datasets can be delivered quickly and reliably, even to locations where fibre or mobile networks are weak, overloaded or simply unavailable.

 

Even in well‑connected regions, handling the large volumes of satellite data can be difficult and time‑consuming.

The familiar images we see from orbit are the result of multiple processing steps that turn raw measurements into visual patterns we can understand; a complex chain that sits between data capture and the final picture.

GeoVille’s platform helps bridge this gap by allowing users to pick out exactly the data relevant to their task, instead of having to search through entire archives or manage heavy processing themselves.

 

A year after launching the project, the platform has advanced three main services. The SatAlert service provides early warnings for wildfire, flood and drought risks by providing automated, satellite-based monitoring.

By evaluating many forecast sources daily, assessing the highest risk and sending alerts when needed, it helps authorities and organisations act sooner.

The EO Streaming Service lets users explore years of satellite data directly in a web browser, with smooth performance even when there’s limited connectivity.

Finally, the Archive Builder Service allows users to create and store tailored datasets for specific regions and time periods, making future access faster and more efficient.

 

Developed under ESA’s Sunrise Partnership Project within the programme for Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES), and supported by the Austrian Space Agency, these services address a key gap: the distance between satellites in orbit and people making decisions on the ground.

By making Copernicus data more accessible, the OneWeb Copernicus Data Hub helps turn Europe’s space technologies into practical support, strengthening resilience, safety and sustainability.

Under Gavin Newsom, state prisoners are turning taxpayer-funded tablets into personal sex machines.

Under Governor Gavin Newsom, California has sought to transform its massive prison system into a Nordic-style rehabilitation program.Newsom has placed a moratorium on all executions, transferred condemned prisoners to facilities across the state, dismantled San Quentin State Prison’s death row, and turned the notorious prison into a therapeutic center, with art, classrooms, a café, and podcast studios.

 

As part of this transformation, the Newsom administrationapproved a $189 million contract to provide new digital tablets—generic, flat-screen devices in a plastic shell—to every inmate in the state prison system, at “no cost” to offenders. The administration heralded the effort to replace inmates’ old tablets—which were piloted in 2018 and given to nearly all prisoners by 2023—as a step toward “digital equity” for “justice impacted” individuals, who could, in theory, use the devices to contact their families, consume “educational” content, and “learn new technology.”

 

In reality, taxpayer-funded tablets have also been used for more lurid endeavors. In this exclusive City Journal investigation, we contacted dozens of death-row inmates, who told us that prisoners in the state system use such devices to watch pornography and have explicit sexual conversations. Some prisoners, according to a former high-ranking California corrections official, use their tablets to groom minors. Though the state has claimed to regulate explicit content, the inmates told us that users can easily evade detection.

 

When reached for comment, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said the tablets were “tightly controlled education tools” that provided inmates with “access to the Bible, education, and reentry resources that actually reduce crime.”

 

But inmates told us a different story. For some, the devices have become personal sex machines. In the words of one inmate, California’s death row is populated with desperately “horny” criminals who see the tablets as a way to satisfy their basest fantasies and desires—all thanks to the California taxpayer.

 

In the 1980s, a rapist and serial murderer named Robert Maury earned the nickname “the Tipster Killer” for calling in anonymous tips identifying the locations of the dead bodies he left behind. During this period, he killed a woman by strangling her with a nylon clothesline, strangled and killed another two women, and brutally raped a fourth before he was caught by authorities.

 

Now, Maury is living at a state prison facility in Stockton, California, where he has viewed pornography on his taxpayer-funded digital tablet. In an interview, Maury told us inmates can receive “nude pictures” and watch pornography through their devices. In his case, he claimed to have received a topless photo from a 22-year-old German psychology student who was “hoping that I would share my story with her for her class project.” After the student sent the photo, Maury said he “flirted” with her “for a while.”

 

Maury said another way that inmates can watch pornography is through the video chat application. In this scheme, he explained, an inmate can call someone on the outside, that person can “put porn on their TV,” and the inmate can “watch with them.” Maury specified that he has never explicitly asked anyone to broadcast pornography in this manner, but when it happens, he “just say[s] cool and thank you.”

 

Samuel Amador, another serial killer who was sentenced to death, had a similar experience. He said inmates watch pornographic videos and have sexually explicit conversations through their tablets. The videos, he said, are delivered in “30 second clips.” Amador has created a rotation on his tablet between explicit and wholesome content: “I watch porn an[d] short clips of my family at the Beach.”

 

Sometimes, guards catch lewd messages, Amador said. But, in general, the restrictions are easy to evade. “[T]hey try to prevent us,” he said about sexting, “but we get around their bullshit.”

 

Jamar Tucker, a capital inmate at High Desert State Prison who has killed three men, noted the system’s loopholes. He indicated that while the rules prohibit inmates from receiving nude photos, he has received videos of women “dancing . . . in a thong.” He uses racy photos, he says, for sexual pleasure.

 

The potential for abuse is obvious. The Newsom administration has made the tablet program universal, with no access-restrictions based on offense. And inmates, including child predators, can communicate with members of the public through their tablets, apparently with no age restrictions,at a cost of five cents per text message or 16 cents per minute of video…

China Doubles Tiangong Size to Rival US in Space

With the International Space Station (ISS), led by the United States, nearing retirement, China has decided to double the scale of its own space station, Tiangong (Heavenly Palace).

Through this, it aims to secure leadership in low Earth orbit (LEO) and expand its independent space cooperation hub. The competition between the two countries in crewed lunar exploration is expanding into a struggle for space hegemony.

 

◇Expanding Space Hubs: China

According to Chinese CCTV and other sources earlier this month, the Chinese government announced plans to add multifunctional expansion modules to Tianhe (Harmony), the core module of the Tiangong space station, transforming its current T-shaped structure into a cross shape. Tiangong currently consists of three modules: Tianhe with the laboratory modules Wentian (Quest for the Heavens) and Mengtian (Dreaming Heaven) attached. The plan is to connect one additional core module and two experimental modules, completing a total of six modules. Once expanded, the total mass of the space station modules will increase from the current 70 metric tons to 180 metric tons. The number of permanent crew members will also expand from three to six.

 

The reason behind China's expansion of Tiangong is space constraints. Completed in 2022, Tiangong has a living space equivalent to a three-bedroom apartment (110 cubic meters).

However, as international joint research projects with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, UNOOSA, have increased, space has become insufficient.

Given plans to continue expanding international cooperation, the need for additional space was deemed necessary.

 

According to CCTV and other sources, Chinese astronauts have conducted over 260 scientific experiments and 26 spacewalks aboard Tiangong.

They set a new record of 9 hours and 6 minutes for a spacewalk, surpassing NASA's previous record of 8 hours and 56 minutes. This year, astronauts from Pakistan, Hong Kong, and Macau are also scheduled to join Tiangong missions.

Additionally, to realize this module expansion of Tiangong, China is reported to be upgrading the transport capacity of the Long March 5B rocket and improving the performance of the station's robotic arms.

 

◇Crewed Lunar Landing: Will the Race Be Decided by Months?

The competition between the United States and China for crewed lunar landings also continues.

Space experts analyze that in the rivalry over crewed lunar landings and moon base construction, the decisive factor will not be 'speed' but the long-term sustainable capability to repeatedly launch spacecraft to the moon.

 

Scott Manley, an astrophysicist and rocket engineering expert, said in an interview with The Guardian, "The real issue is who will go to the moon ten times in the future," adding, "The country that can continuously access and operate on the moon will ultimately seize space leadership."

While U.S. space and lunar exploration policies may fluctuate with each new administration, China, under a one-party system, consistently pursues long-term plans.

The organization insists that the outbreak will not become “another Covid”

 

World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has warned that “we might see more cases” of the deadly Andes strain of hantavirus emerge in the coming days, after an 11th case was recorded.

 

The virus has killed three people who left Argentina on a cruise ship last month, and infected eight others. The most recent case was confirmed by the Spanish Health Ministry on Tuesday, and involves a passenger who had been quarantined in a military hospital in Madrid after traveling on the ship.

 

“At the moment, there is no sign that we are seeing the start of a larger outbreak, but of course the situation could change and, given the long incubation period of the virus, it’s possible we might see more cases in the coming weeks,” Ghebreyesus said at a press conference in Madrid on Tuesday.

 

Ghebreyesus thanked Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez for showing “compassion and solidarity” by allowing the ship, the Dutch-flagged MV Hondius, to dock at Spain’s Canary Islands on Monday. From the Canaries, passengers were evacuated to their home countries, where authorities were urged by Tedros to keep them quarantined for 42 days.

 

Hantaviruses are a family of viruses carried by rodents, and spread to humans through contact with their droppings, urine, or saliva. The Andes strain is the only variant known to spread from human to human, and causes hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HPS) in those it infects.

 

After a long incubation period of between six and eight weeks, patients typically experience flu-like symptoms that can develop into heart problems, hypertension, and buildup of fluid in the lungs and chest cavity. The Andes strain of hantavirus has a fatality rate of around 38%.

 

On Saturday, Tedros stressed that “the current public health risk from hantavirus remains low,” and that the outbreak would not become “another Covid.”

 

The MV Hondius left Argentina carrying 147 passengers and crew from 23 countries. So far, every confirmed case has involved someone who traveled on the ship. Twenty British nationals are in isolation in the UK, 14 Spaniards are quarantined at the military hospital in Madrid, and five French citizens are being monitored in Paris. One of them, a 65-year-old woman, developed serious symptoms and was placed on a ventilator on Tuesday, French authorities said. Twelve Dutch health workers have also been quarantined after incorrectly handling the bodily fluids of a hantavirus patient.

 

Out of 17 Americans evacuated from the ship, one who tested positive for the virus will be quarantined, while the others will be permitted to go home after a brief checkup. Tedros has warned that this approach “may have risks.”

“I’m not sure that Nick Fuentes or Tucker Carlson are conservatives,” Gorka replied. “If you are lauding Sharia law, if you are saying that there are Muslim states that seem to be better qualitatively than America in terms of freedom and prosperity, I’m not sure that means you’re part of the conservative movement. So if you remove those individuals and you understand that they’re not conservatives, what’s left?”

 

Gorka’s comment implies that, stripped of their “conservative” credentials, Fuentes and Carlson are the kind of left-wing extremists that the Trump administration will target.

US President Donald Trump has not ruled the possibility of traveling to Russia this year to help facilitate a settlement to the Ukraine conflict.

 

Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Tuesday, prior to departing for an upcoming summit in China, the US president was asked if he could visit Russia in 2026.

 

“I could… I will do whatever is necessary. That war… I’ve settled eight wars,” Trump said.

 

“That war is getting closer. Believe it or not, it’s getting closer. And we think we’re going to end up getting a settlement between Russia and Ukraine.”

 

A day earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to host Trump. Putin initially extended the invitation after the historic bilateral US-Russia summit in Alaska last August.

 

However, the subsequent Washington-backed direct talks between Moscow and Kiev have stalled.

 

The negotiations will remain at a standstill until Kiev pulls its troops out of Donbass, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said on Sunday. “Until [Ukraine] makes the step, one can hold some more rounds, dozens of rounds [of talks] but we will remain in the same spot,” he said.

 

Washington is currently “more preoccupied with the Middle East crisis,” Ushakov added. The US war on Iran has settled into an uneasy standoff centered around the Strait of Hormuz and blockade of Iranian ports, with neither side accepting the other’s demands.

 

Nevertheless, Washington is “not abandoning the Ukraine issue,” and is in regular contact with Moscow over the phone, Ushakov said.

 

Russia has maintained that any peaceful settlement is predicated on Kiev withdrawing from the remaining areas of the Donbass that are still under Ukrainian control.

AI Safety Institute Debuts with Big-Name Backers and a Censorship Agenda

 

Every major speaker at the Copenhagen summit has a resume built on telling platforms what to take down.

 

Common Sense Media’s Youth AI Safety Institute arrived at the Danish Parliament this week and the guest list is stacked with people who think you can’t be trusted to speak freely online.

 

Hillary Clinton, Ursula von der Leyen, former Biden Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Ofcom chief Melanie Dawes, and the head of an organization that wants to break end-to-end encryption are all gathering at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen to announce what they’d like to do next about AI and children.

 

The “next” part is where it gets concerning. The Youth AI Safety Institute, launched by Common Sense Media on May 5, says it will “complement efforts by regulators and policymakers to translate frameworks such as the EU AI Act, the Digital Services Act, and the UK Online Safety Act into practical protections for child-safe AI.”

 

Those three censorship laws represent the most aggressive government-directed speech suppression regimes currently operating in the Western world. The Institute isn’t questioning them. In fact, it wants to help implement them and push them further.

 

The summit, titled “Keeping Our Children and Families Safe in the AI Era,” is co-hosted by Common Sense Media, Save the Children Denmark, and Margrethe Vestager, who spent years as the European Commission’s executive vice president building the regulatory architecture that now lets EU officials order platforms to delete content.

 

More than 200 policymakers, tech executives, and civil society figures are expected. King Frederik X of Denmark is giving the opening address. The Duchess of Edinburgh will attend. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is on the bill.

 

And so is Pinterest CEO Bill Ready, whose company helped pay for the Institute’s creation.

 

Who’s Funding This?

The Youth AI Safety Institute is bankrolled by a mix of philanthropic donors and deep industry money.

 

The industry funders are Anthropic, the OpenAI Foundation, and Pinterest. All three make AI products that the Institute will evaluate and rate. The Institute says it “maintains complete editorial independence over published results.” But the structural incentive is obvious enough to name. Companies are funding an organization that will publish safety ratings of their competitors, define what “safe” means, and push governments to enforce those definitions through law.

 

John Giannandrea, a former senior AI executive at both Apple and Google, sits on the Institute’s Board of Advisors. So does Murthy, who has publicly advocated for digital ID systems to combat online “misinformation” and worked directly with Big Tech companies to target speech the government classified as false during the Biden administration.

 

Common Sense Media CEO James P. Steyer framed the project by citing the Institute’s own polling. “Eight percent—that is the share of parents across the four countries we surveyed who are confident AI companies are prioritising teen safety,” Steyer said.

 

“For more than two decades, Common Sense Media has built the standards, ratings and research that families trust through every major technological transformation young people have lived through, from streaming to social media. Our Youth AI Safety Institute applies that work to AI: independent standards, real testing and clear accountability for the products young people use. Copenhagen is where that mission begins in Europe.”

 

The polling, conducted across Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland by Common Sense Media, SocialSphere, and YouGov, found that 77% of parents want strong laws governing AI. The press materials use that number to argue for “stronger laws and child-centred AI governance,” which in the context of this particular coalition means more age verification, more content restrictions, and more government involvement in deciding what AI systems are allowed to say.

Dusing draws a sharp comparison between Google’s treatment of TruPlay, which aims to bring gaming and entertainment to children with a specific Christian message, with its primary competitor, Roblox, which is allowed to operate without any obstacles despite showing “blood everywhere and dismembered bodies” in games on its platform. According to Dusing, Google’s AI system has been “designed with blatant intent to block Christianity.”

Yermak – a close associate of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky – stepped down last year amid mounting scrutiny over his alleged ties to businessman Timur Mindich, who fled to Israel shortly before being accused of masterminding a large-scale embezzlement scheme at a state-owned energy company.

 

During a court hearing on Tuesday, prosecutors revealed details of Yermak’s reported interest in occult practices,claiming that it may have influenced staffing decisions at the highest levels of government.

 

According to investigators, one of his contacts appeared in messaging records under the name “Veronika Fengshui Office.” Prosecutors allegeYermak sent the birth dates of potential appointees – without naming them directly – to ask whether they were suitable for office.

 

Feng shui is a traditional Chinese practice focused on arranging spaces and objects to promote harmony and the flow of qi, or life energy. While widely used as inspiration for interior design,it has also become associated in some circles with fortune telling, spiritism, and other mystical practices.

 

According to the prosecution, Yermak sought Veronika’s opinion on candidates for the posts of prime minister, prosecutor general, health minister, and even his own deputy responsible for overseeing law enforcement agencies. Prosecutors cited the communications whilearguing that Yermak should remain in pre-trial detention because of his alleged ability to influence witnesses and interfere with the investigation.

 

Additional details emerged during continuation of the hearings on Wednesday, when the prosecutor identified the spiritual advisor by full name and quoted some of the text messages she and Yermak allegedly exchanged.Records indicate she urged him to cling to power at any cost, which he pledged to do.

 

Reacting to the revelations, Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev mocked the Ukrainian leadership on social media, saying the Zelensky administration “should just get a peaceful ‘fortune teller,’” adding that “peace is the best magic.”

 

Claims of occult practices in Zelensky’s circle

Allegations of mystical beliefs within Ukraine’s leadership were previously raised by former Zelensky press secretary Yulia Mendel, who has since emerged as a vocal critic of the administration.

 

In January, Mendel claimed that Yermak had relied on occult rituals for years and allegedly invited practitioners from abroad to perform ceremonies involving so-called “corpse water.”She suggested that other people close to Zelensky also shared an interest in mystical practices, though she did not identify them publicly.

 

The corruption case against Yermak centers on a luxury suburban real estate development that investigators say was financed with illicit funds. Part of the case referenced an alleged scheme involving the illegal extraction of sand from a cemetery site for use in construction.

 

Opposition MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak pointed to the accusations as evidence that senior officials connected to the project lacked ethical standards and should not be entrusted with governing the country. Zelensky is reportedly among the four co-owners of the upscale property development that Western-backed anti-corruption agencies are investigating.

EU Chief Says Bloc Looking to Introduce Law Banning Social Media for Children by Summer

 

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has signalled that Brussels may seek to introduce legislation for a blanket ban on social media access for teenagers throughout the entire bloc by the summer.

 

Speaking at the European Summit on Artificial Intelligence and Children in Copenhagen, EU boss Von der Leyen said that plans for a ban on children using social media could be put forward in the coming months.

 

“We are witnessing the lightning speed at which technology is advancing – and how it penetrates every corner of childhood and adolescence,” she said per Euronews.

 

“We all know that sustainable change does not happen overnight. But if we are slow and hesitant, it will be another entire generation of children that pays the price,” von der Leyen added.

 

The German politician suggested the EU’s Digital COVID Pass could serve as the basis for an age-verification app required for social media platforms. EU lawmakers have previously voted in favour of using the EU’s corona pass app as the framework for the bloc’s incoming Digital Identity Wallet, which is said to be on track for release later this year.

 

However, according to Euronews, some member states have expressed hesitancy about using the same platform for age verification, given that it would be much more widely used and the ongoing privacy concerns over the app.

 

Alternatively, the bloc could adopt a model similar to that being mooted in France, which is likely to mandate social media companies, such as Instagram and TikTok, to perform age verification themselves later this year for children under 15.

 

It is unclear at what age the Commission is aiming to ban social media use; however, other countries, such as Australia and Indonesia, have recently imposed bans on children under 16.

 

The EU’s unelected governing body has already created a panel of experts to study the impacts on children of social media, including addiction and anxiety, and potential ways to prevent such outcomes.

 

“Without pre-empting the panel’s findings, I believe we must consider a social media delay. Depending on the results, we could come forward with a legal proposal this summer,” von der Leyen said.

 

On top of considering a ban for children, Brussels has already invoked its Digital Services Act censorship apparatus to scrutinise social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat to determine whether they are doing enough on their own to safeguard children.

 

Companies which fall afoul of the censorship act face fines of up to 6 per cent of their annual worldwide turnover and could even be banned entirely from the bloc for continued violations.

Mendel, who served as Zelensky’s press secretary from 2019 to 2021, has in recent months become an outspoken critic of her former boss. Complaints over Ukrainian press gangs skyrocket

 

Draft officers are frequently accused of abuse of power amid the ‘bussification’ campaign in which men are snatched off the streets

Nearly 12,000 complaints have been filed against draft officials in Ukraine since the conflict with Russia began in early 2022, Ukrainskaya Pravda (UP) reported on Monday, citing dataprovided by the parliamentary human rights commissioner.

 

Ukraine has beensuffering from chronic manpower shortages due to its heavy battlefield losses, widespread draft dodging, and desertion.The nationwide ‘bussification’ campaign, in which draft officers ambush military-age men on the streets, at workplaces, and outside their homes, has often led to violent altercations and outrage on social media.

 

According to UP, the number of complaints against draft officials jumped from 514 in 2023 to 6,127 in 2025. Atotal of 1,657 complaints were filed in the first quarter of 2026.

 

In many instances, officers were filmed tackling and beating men before shoving them into vans.Several draftees have reportedly died shortly after arriving at the draft offices. In videos posted online, bystanders and family members are often seen attacking the officers to prevent unwilling recruits from being sent to the front line.

 

The Ukrainian government lowered the draft age from 27 to 25 and has introduced harsher penalties for draft dodging.

 

The draft remains a highly contentious issue as the conflict with Russia has entered its fourth year. Last week, dozens of people attempted to storm a draft office building in the village of Mezhgorye in western Ukraine. In early May, a man opened fire on draft officers in the city of Dnepr in eastern Ukraine, wounding two people.

 

Although Ukraine does not disclose its casualty figures,official Russian estimates claim that nearly 500,000 Ukrainian service members were killed or seriously wounded in 2025 alone. (Why isn’t Ukraine and its leaders being prosecuted for war crimes against their citizens?)

Kiev Forces Spotted With China’s Latest MANPADS (Photos)

 

China’s latest FN-16 man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) has made a surprise appearance in Ukraine with Kiev forces.

 

Photos showing a soldier from one of the air defense units of Ukraine’s 160th Mechanized Brigade armed with the MANPADS survived online on May 13.

 

The FN-16 was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology. It features an infrared, ultraviolet dual-spectrum seeker with better all-aspect attack capability and better resistance against electronic countermeasures. It has an engagement range of six kilometers, and an altitude of four kilometers.

 

It is unclear how exactly Ukraine received the MANPADS. One possibility is that they were supplied by Pakistan, Bangladesh or Cambodia, which are the only known operators other than China.

 

Another possibility is that the United States supplied the FN-16s to Ukraine after seizing a shipment of the system somewhere.

 

Last month CNN reported, citing U.S. intelligence assessments, that China is preparing to deliver new air defenses, specifically MANPADS, to Iran in a matter of weeks. SouthFront speculated at the time that the systems in question could be the FN-16.

 

Soon after the report, President Donald Trump said that the military intercepted a ship carrying a “gift” to the Islamic Republic from China.

 

While there is no evidence backing this theory, the fact that Ukraine openly showed off the new MANPADS indicates that it didn’t get them by its own efforts.

 

Still, it is important to note that this is not the first time Kiev forces have been spotted with Chinese-made MANPADS. Just last year, Ukrainian soldiers were seen armed with FN-6, an older version of the FN-16 but still very capable. Although the FN-6 features an older generation infrared homing seeker, it still has a very similar engagement range and altitude to the FN-16.

 

The FN-6 is more widely available, especially in the Middle East and North Africa where it could even be found on the black market.

 

In any case, the fact that such advanced MANPADS are already finding their way to Ukraine, whose black market mainly exports to Europe, is very worrying to say the least.

Multiple Russian Fuel, Gas Sites Targeted in 286-Drone Overnight Barrage

A series of drone-related incidents sparked fires and disruption across multiple Russian energy facilities on Wednesday, May 13, with damage reported in the Astrakhan region, Bashkortostan, and southern Russia’s Krasnodar region.

Ukraine’s General Staff said its forces struck Russian energy facilities, including primary oil refining units at the Yaroslavl oil refinery in Yaroslavl region and infrastructure at the Astrakhan gas processing plant.

 

The military said fires broke out at both sites and described them as part of infrastructure supporting Russia’s war effort. Damage assessments are ongoing.

In the Astrakhan region, authorities reported a strike on the Gazprom-operated Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant – one of Russia’s largest gas facilities.

 

Officials said the attack was repelled, but falling debris from intercepted drones ignited a fire at the site. No casualties were reported.

The plant is a major producer of gasoline, diesel, and fuel oil and Russia’s largest output hub for gas sulfur. It was previously targeted in 2025, forcing a temporary halt in fuel production.

 

Further north, a major blaze erupted at the “Nurlino” oil pipeline station near Ufa in Bashkortostan, operated by Transneft. Thick smoke was seen rising from the facility, which serves as a key node in Russia’s Ural oil transport system.

Authorities described the incident as a “technological malfunction” that triggered an explosion, while local reports suggested a fuel tank had ignited. At least three people were injured, two of them seriously burned.

 

In southern Russia, a fire broke out in the village of Volna in the Krasnodar region’s Temryuk district after a drone attack and falling debris.

Regional officials said nearly 100 emergency personnel were deployed to contain the blaze, with one injury reported. Nearby, drone fragments were also found in the settlement of Taman.

The Volna area sits near the Black Sea port of Taman, a strategic export hub for oil and fuel shipments that has repeatedly come under drone pressure.

 

Separately, debris from downed drones struck an industrial facility in Russia’s Yaroslavl region. Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said most drones were intercepted, but fragments still caused localized damage. No fatalities were reported.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defenses intercepted 286 Ukrainian drones overnight across a wide range of regions, including areas near the Black Sea, Crimea, and multiple central and southern Russian oblasts.

Former Tennessee Sheriff’s Deputy Pleads Guilty to Production of Child Sexual Abuse Material

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Johnathan Nathaniel Allen, 27, of Chattanooga Tenn., has pleaded guilty to production of child sexual abuse material.*

 

Evidence obtained in the investigation revealed that in September 2024 Allen used accounts on Reddit and Text Me to contact a 13-year-old girl in South Carolina.

 

Allen posed as a 14-year-old boy named “Josh” on the applications and pressured the minor to produce sexually explicit material at his request. At the time, Allen was 25 years old and had been a deputy with a county sheriff’s office in Tennessee since 2021.

 

On Reddit, Allen navigated to a forum that referenced teenagers in the title. He started a conversation with one of the minors and then directed the conversation to text messages. There, Allen used a virtual phone number he obtained through the TextMe platform. The minor showed Allen pictures of her stuffed animals and he “begged,” according to evidence, for pictures of the minor. He told the minor she could trust him and that he would not share the files. Allen caused the production of sexually explicit content depicting the minor. Allen told the victim that he was proud of her, and that she learned something new she could do. He requested additional sex acts, and he told her to delete the messages so no one else would see them.

 

When agents searched Allen’s home, they found a phone with Reddit, Text Me, and the fake “Josh” identity. Agents also found 19 communications on Allens’ phone with the minor, including numerous calls to the minor after law enforcement had seized the minor’s phone. Data from the Reddit and Text Me account, including pictures shared by the user, all resolved to Allen. Agents also found clothes in Allen’s bedroom that “Josh” was wearing when it shared sexually explicit images on the platform. One of the pictures shared by the Reddit user when posing as a teenager was a picture of Allen when he was younger.

 

“This outrageous criminal conduct, especially from someone sworn to protect society’s most vulnerable, its children, will be met with the full force of the federal government,” said U.S. Attorney Bryan Stirling for the District of South Carolina. “We’re grateful to the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, the York County Sheriff’s Office and the Hamilton County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office for their work to bring this defendant to justice.”

 

Allen faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison. He will also be required to register as a sex offender, he faces a fine of up to $250,000, restitution, and a term of up to lifetime supervision to follow the term of imprisonment. United States District Judge Sherri A. Lydon accepted the guilty plea and will sentence Allen after receiving and reviewing a sentencing report prepared by the U.S. Probation Office.

Administrator of charity program for Virginia state employees sentenced for stealing over $1.5M

 

RICHMOND, Va. – A Texas woman was sentenced today to four years in prison for stealing more than $1.5 million from the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), the officially sanctioned non-profit charity fundraising program for Virginia’s more than 120,000 state government employees. This case is part of the Trump Administration’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.

 

According to court documents, from 2017 through 2023, the Virginia Department of Human Resources Management employed Linda Natelle Brown, 43, of Houston, to administer the CVC. The CVC promised that Virginia state government employees could safely and easily donate to their preferred causes throughout the year via credit card payments, mailed checks, and by payroll remittances deducted directly from employee paychecks. Brown was supposed to steward these funds and make corresponding payments to charities designated by donors.

 

Between January 2019 and August 2023, Brown embezzled more than $1.5 million of the over $5.3 million donated by state government employees. Instead of paying the charities designated by donors, Brown stole this money for personal spending.

 

For example, Brown paid $10,400 in fraud proceeds for a plastic surgery procedure. Brown also used stolen charity funds to pay for a “fish pedicure” spa in Las Vegas. She fraudulently used charity funds for multiple flight tickets to destinations around the country, stays at luxury hotels, a luxury apartment in Houston, designer clothing and shoes, beauty and cosmetic products, and food and alcohol.

 

Brown also concealed her embezzlement from the CVC by attempting to replenish the funds she had stolen with a $494,469 U.S. Small Business Administration-backed business loan, which Brown obtained by making false statements to the lender.

 

The Court entered a money judgment forfeiture order of $1,581,161.

 

The IRS Criminal Investigation Washington D.C. Field Office, U.S. Postal Inspection Service Washington Division, and Office of the Inspector General of Virginia investigated this case.

LOS ANGELES – California-based companies Perfectus Aluminum Inc., Perfectus Aluminum Acquisitions LLC and four affiliated warehousing companies have agreed to pay a total of $549.5 million to resolve allegations that they violated the False Claims Act by knowingly and improperly evading, or conspiring to evade, antidumping and countervailing duties owed to the United States on aluminum extrusions imported from the People’s Republic of China (China).

Antidumping duties protect against foreign companies “dumping” products on U.S. markets at prices below cost, while countervailing duties offset foreign government subsidies. During the relevant time period, aluminum extrusions from China were subject to both antidumping and countervailing duties.

South Puget Sound former financial advisor sentenced to three years in prison for stealing nearly $1 million from elderly client

 

Misled widow promising her better investment returns while stealing from her bank accounts

Seattle – A 57-year-old Fox Island, Washington, man was sentenced late yesterday in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to three years in prison for his scheme to steal from an elderly client who trusted him as a financial advisor, announced First Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Neil Floyd. John S. Winslow was indicted just over a year ago on four counts of wire fraud, two counts of mail fraud, four counts of money laundering, and four counts of making and subscribing a false tax return. Winslow was a financial advisor at a national financial services firm until he was fired following revelations he had stolen over $920,000 in life savings and inheritance from a former client, a widow in her 70’s. “This crime was personal,” U.S. District Judge Tiffany M. Cartwright. “Mr. Winslow had a longstanding relationship with this victim.”

 

“Over about four years, this defendant stole more than $900,000 from an elderly victim. First, he ingratiated himself with the victim. He took her grocery shopping and bought her flowers and chocolate. Then, he took advantage of her trust, her cognitive decline and isolation,” said First Assistant U.S. Attorney Neil Floyd. “He used the victim’s funds to live with luxuries – buying an island home, installing a hot tub, and purchasing a new car. All the while, the victim scrimped and lived on a limited budget. This prison sentence holds him accountable.”

 

“Lies, deceit, and fraud are not things that should be associated with any financial advisor trusted to protect a client’s hard-earned money. However, Mr. Winslow chose exactly these things when he callously stole from his client,” said Special Agent in Charge Carrie Nordyke, IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), Seattle Field Office. “IRS-CI will continue to pursue justice against those who choose to commit such financial crimes.”

 

According to records in the case, Winslow moved funds out of the victim’s brokerage accounts with the financial services firm and into her outside bank account in multiple transactions. He did this to conceal his fraud by placing the victim’s funds outside of the firm’s surveillance system. From the victim’s outside bank account, the funds were transferred into Winslow’s bank account, again in multiple transactions. Winslow used his trusted status with the victim to further the fraud. He falsely claimed to the victim that if she transferred money to him, he would repay her at a higher interest rate than what she was getting from her banks. He visited the victim at her home and instructed the victim to call the bank and put the call on speaker. He then told the victim what she should tell the bank. Winslow then used the victim’s funds for his own benefit.

Former Gymnastics Coach Pleads Guilty to Production of Child Sexual Abuse Material

 

Hattiesburg, MS – A former gymnastics coach pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to three counts of production of child sexual abuse material after he secretly videotaped gymnasts in the bathroom of the gym where he coached.

 

According to court documents and statements made in court, Sean Gardner, 39, of West Des Moines, Iowa, used his access to children as a gymnastics coach in Purvis, Mississippi to surreptitiously record minors changing clothes and using the bathroom. The investigation began after reports were made to the U.S. Center for SafeSport alleging that Gardner, while working as a gymnastics coach, engaged in inappropriate conduct involving minor athletes. SafeSport forwarded the allegations to law enforcement, which led to a joint investigation by local and federal authorities.

 

During the execution of a search warrant at Gardner’s Iowa residence, law enforcement seized multiple electronic devices. A forensic examination revealed numerous images and videos depicting minor children – some under the age of 12 – in states of undress that appeared to have been recorded using a concealed camera. Investigators determined that several of the recordings were made in a restroom at a gym in Purvis, Mississippi, where Gardner previously worked. The evidence included multiple files dated as early as 2017 and 2018, and investigators identified several of the minors depicted as former gymnastics students.

Gardner pleaded guilty to three counts of production of child sexual abuse material. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 14, 2026, and faces a maximum penalty of 90 years in prison. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

Former New York State Judge and Brooklyn Real Estate Investor Charged with Wire Fraud Conspiracy

 

Sam Sprei and Edward Harold King Allegedly Perpetrated Schemes to Defraud Real Estate Investors of Millions of Dollars

Earlier today, at the federal courthouse in Brooklyn, a complaint was unsealed charging Sam Sprei, also known as “Yechiel Sprei,” “Shimon Sprei,” and “Eli Shapiro,” and Edward Harold King, a former Kings County Supreme Court Justice, with wire fraud conspiracy. Both defendants were arrested this morning and are scheduled to make their initial appearance this afternoon before United States Magistrate Judge Clay H. Kaminsky.

 

Joseph Nocella, Jr., United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and Harry T. Chavis, Jr., Special Agent in Charge, Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, New York (IRS-CI New York), announced the arrests and charges.

As set forth in court filings, Sprei and King perpetrated numerous schemes to defraud, including multiple schemes to defraud real estate investors in which they solicited the victims’ funds in fictitious investment opportunities, represented to the victims that their invested funds would be returnable on demand if the victims decided to end their involvement in the investments, and then later refused to return the money based on false excuses and converted a significant portion of the victims’ funds for their own use.

 

For example, in November 2024, Spreipresented two investors (the Investors) with an opportunity to purchase commercial real estate located in Freehold, New Jersey (the Property). Sprei told the Investors that to take advantage of this opportunity, they would first have to show “proof of liquidity” by depositing funds in escrow. In addition, Sprei told the Investors that King was an independent escrow agent and a New York judge. Sprei also made numerous misrepresentations designed to deceive the Investors, including that if the Investors decided not to pursue the investment, they could so advise the escrow agent and would receive the full amount deposited within two business days. Based on these representations from Sprei, the Investors wired a total of $6.5 million to a bank account in King’s name pursuant to written escrow agreements signed by the Investors and King. In the days immediately following the wire transfers from the Investors to the bank account in King’s name, millions of dollars of the Investors’ funds were withdrawn or transferred to a bank account in Sprei’s name. When the Investors subsequently wrote to King to request the return of their deposited funds, King provided false excuses as to why he could not return the $6.5 million. Months later, King and Sprei returned to the Investors $1.5 million, representing only a portion of the Investors’ investment. To date, Sprei and King have not returned any further funds to the Investors.

The looming energy crisis will inevitably force Kiev’s European backers to negotiate with Russia, Kremlin investment envoy and senior Ukraine conflict negotiator Kirill Dmitriev said on Tuesday.

 

The EU and UK have largely frozen contacts with Moscow after the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022.While the Kremlin has confirmed that a visit by envoys sent by French President Emmanuel Macron took place in February, the talks went nowhere.

 

“Finnish President Stubb believes that… ‘it’s time to start talking to Russia,’” Dmitriev wrote on X. “The upcoming energy crisis tsunami starting to overwhelm the EU and UK will make it inevitable.”

 

He was replying to a statement Stubb made in an interview with Italian daily Corriere della Sera published on Monday.

 

“Yes, it’s time to start talking to Russia,” the Finnish president said. “If American policy toward Russia and Ukraine isn’t in Europe’s interests, as seems to be the case, then we must engage directly.”

 

Kiev’s European backers have increasingly made public statements about the need to reengage Moscow in dialogue, expressing concern about being sidelined in US-backed Russia-Ukraine talks.

 

However, any speculation about resuming talks is premature, until a concerted “political decision to resume dialogue” is made, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

Britain will deploy autonomous mine hunting equipment and cutting-edge counter drone systems, along with Typhoon jets and HMS Dragon as part of a future defensive mission to secure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The defensive mission, which would become operational when conditions allow, is backed by £115m new funding for mine-hunting drones and counter-drone systems.

 

During a virtual summit of Defence Ministers, with representation from over 40 nations involved in the Multinational Military Mission, the Defence Secretary also reaffirmed the UK’s leadership, including as part of a multinational HQ to coordinate efforts.

The UK’s contribution to the multinational mission will include a cutting-edge autonomous kit, as part of the Royal Navy’s shift to a Hybrid Navy.

Other nations also utilised the virtual summit to announce their respective capability contributions to the Multinational Military Mission.

 

The UK force package will include:

Advanced autonomous mine hunting equipment, including capabilities to detect and defeat mines.

The Royal Navy’s modular ‘Beehive’ system which can deliver high-speed, autonomous Kraken drone boats allowing the multinational force to sense, track, and identify potential threats and defeat them.

RFA Lyme Bay also continues to be upgraded by the Royal Navy to add new cutting-edge uncrewed equipment, allowing it to be used as a ‘mothership’ for autonomous systems, if required for operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

These contributions complement the UK’s existing defensive operations in the region, with over 1000 UK personnel across the region, including counter-drone teams and fast jet squadrons, which have played an important role in protecting British nationals and our partners in the region.

The multinational plan is strictly defensive in nature and is designed to restore confidence for commercial shipping along the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical trade routes through which a fifth of the world’s oil passes.

Japan Confirms Possession of UAP Footage After Reviewing Pentagon Videos Near Japanese Airspace

The Japanese government has confirmed it is reviewing recently declassified Pentagon footage showing unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) recorded during operations near Japanese territory.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara said officials were analysing the material alongside the United States and other international partners as part of ongoing national security monitoring.

 

Speaking during a press conference in Tokyo, Kihara confirmed he had personally viewed the footage following the US Department of Defense's release of 161 files containing videos, photographs and documents linked to unresolved aerial incidents.

The material was released after US President Donald Trump ordered further declassification of Pentagon records connected to UAP investigations.

 

Kihara said the Japanese government continued gathering and analysing information related to unidentified aerial objects on a daily basis, but declined to discuss specific exchanges between Tokyo and Washington.

He added that any future release of Japanese footage or related information would be considered on a case-by-case basis after reviewing national security and intelligence concerns.

 

Pentagon Videos Draw Regional Attention

Among the declassified Pentagon files are videos reportedly recorded during operations in the Indo-Pacific region, including near Japanese airspace and the East China Sea.

One infrared recording from 2023, identified in Pentagon materials as DOW-UAP-PR47, appears to show several contrasting objects maintaining formation during a military operation.

A separate clip recorded in 2024 reportedly captured a 'football-shaped' object with protrusions extending from its structure.

 

The footage has attracted attention among Japanese lawmakers and defence analysts amid growing concerns over surveillance activity and unidentified objects operating near regional airspace.

When asked about the videos during the press conference, Kihara said it was also his first time viewing the material and added that the government would analyse it carefully.

 

Security Concerns and Airspace Monitoring

Japan's increasing focus on UAP investigations has developed alongside broader security concerns involving drones, surveillance aircraft and unidentified objects operating near national territory.

Following the 2023 shootdown of a Chinese surveillance balloon over the United States, Japan's Defence Ministry said it strongly suspected similar objects spotted over Japan between 2019 and 2021 were Chinese spy balloons.

A bipartisan group of roughly 80 Japanese lawmakers formed in 2024 to examine UAP-related security issues and has since called for the creation of a dedicated government office focused on aerial anomaly investigations and airspace monitoring.

Officials have framed the issue primarily as a matter of national defence and surveillance.

 

Balancing Transparency and Intelligence Risks

Kihara also signalled caution regarding the public release of Japanese government footage or intelligence materials.

He said decisions about disclosure would need to consider the protection of intelligence-gathering capabilities and sensitive national security information.

US defence officials and NASA have similarly stated that many unexplained sightings may involve conventional aircraft, drones, sensor irregularities or surveillance systems that require further analysis.

 

Growing Political Interest in UAP Investigations

The latest Pentagon disclosures reflect growing international political interest in unidentified aerial incidents and the potential security risks posed by unexplained objects operating near military assets or restricted airspace.

In Japan, lawmakers pushing for expanded UAP monitoring argue the issue should be treated as part of broader aerospace defence planning and crisis management.

Speculation over who should serve as the EU’s representative inpotential negotiations with Russia is meaningless as long as the bloc has not committed to diplomacy, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

 

Debates over resuming talks were reignited last week when Russian President Vladimir Putin saidformer German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder would be a suitable EU envoy.

 

Brussels has rejected the idea. Media reports later named outgoing German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier as a potential candidate. Speaking to RIA Novosti on Tuesday, Peskov called the discussions premature.

 

“One could read the tea leaves and list every famous name,” Peskov said. “Anyone could [take on that task].What matters is a political decision to resume dialogue.”

 

Kallas rejects ‘lobbyist’ Schroeder

 

Western nations have sought to isolate Russia since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022. While the US has abandoned the policy under the administration of President Donald Trump, Brussels maintains its position of not engaging Moscow diplomatically – though fears have grown in the. EU that its concerns will be sidelined if a peace deal is reached.

 

EU foreign policy chief KajaKallas on Monday rejected the idea of Schroeder acting on behalf of the bloc, calling the former German leader a Russian “lobbyist.”

 

“Before we discuss with Russia, we should discuss among ourselveswhat exactly we want to discuss with them,” Kallas said, adding that EU leaders are seeking security guarantees from Moscow. Kallas is a vocal opponent of normalizing relations with Moscow. (The EU has every incompetent leaders in dire matters to solve. The EU will never try to settle this, to try to prove they are the biggest enemy of Russia, they don’t care about the Ukranian and Russia soldiers dying at all.)

 

Putin said European governments are free to nominate any representative they want, provided that the individual has not publicly slandered Russia in the past. “We were not the ones who refused talks – they were,” he added.

 

SPD calls for pragmatic approach

According to Der Spiegel, theGerman government considers Putin’s remarks about Schroeder a “sham proposal.”

 

However, Adis Ahmetovic, the foreign policy spokesman for the Social Democratic Party (SPD), argued thatthe possibility should not be dismissed.

 

“The goal must be for Europe to have a seat at the negotiating table,” Ahmetovic told the outlet, adding that Schroedershould be “carefully considered together with our European partners rather than ruled out categoricallyfrom the outset.”

 

Schroeder, 82, led the SPD and served as German chancellor from 1998 to 2005 before being succeeded by Christian Democratic leader Angela Merkel.Since 2022, he has been ostracized by his own party over his support for Russian-German energy cooperation.

 

Steinmeier, a fellow member of the SPD, is expected to step down from his largely ceremonial role as German president in early 2027. He was among the architects of the controversial Minsk II agreement – the 2015 roadmap for settling the Donbass conflict negotiated by Kiev, Berlin, Paris, and Moscow – which former Ukrainian and Western officials later admitted helped buy time for Ukraine’s military buildup.

 

Other names floated by the Western media aspotential EU envoys for talks with Russia include Finnish President Alexander Stubb, whose country abandoned decades of military neutrality to join NATO in 2023,and Kallas, who has repeatedly ruled out negotiations as long as Putin remains in power.

The core of Eskridge's technical claim rests on the designations P-47 and P-52. These labels represent the number of millennia into the future from which these 'ultraterrestrials' originate.

She said, 'P-47 is present plus 47,000 years. P-52 is present plus 52,000 years.' Eskridge said that there will be a calamity that would wipe out mankind.

'Basically, there's a calamity — there's like an apocalypse scenario in the near future. It wipes out most everything, man, and there's the one that goes underground and survives. Then there's the ones that somehow stay on the surface and miraculously don't die.'

what if CNN and RSBN covered the citizens and their views on the bills that week they will vote on instead of which congressperson is giving secrets away to china or which intern is sleeping their way to the top of the hill,… like this fillibuster thing, it would be super interesting to see how the nation would vote on it? would they keep it? or not, and thats a stupid thing, what if we were tasked with laws on taxes? now that would be something to see.. the whole nation discussing such a thing, and the "capitol rotunda" would be the nation, and we the legislators… i dont think its ever been done before actually, is there a nation or a small country that has allowed the citizens to pass all laws?
