GOP Rep. Cory Mills Under Federal Investigation: Report

The Justice Department is currently investigating GOP Rep. Cory Mills, according to ABC News, The Washington Examiner, and MS NOW.

The federal probe is in part over Mills’ finances, ABC News said, citing sources.

“The Department of Justice is conducting a criminal investigation into Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., according to two sources familiar with the matter, adding to the mounting legal and ethical scrutiny facing the embattled congressman,” MS NOW reported.

“The sources didn’t disclose the focus of the DOJ investigation. But a third source told MS NOW at least one person was contacted by the FBI last year about Mills’ finances, allegations of misconduct and individuals in his orbit,” MS NOW

The Washington Examiner reported:

Embattled Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) is under an investigation by the Department of Justice, a source familiar confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

It is unclear why the DOJ is investigating Mills, and the agency did not respond to a request for comment. Mills has been accused of domestic violence, stolen valor, and financial misconduct. Mills has denied any wrongdoing.

The FBI reportedly reached out to at least one person about Mills’s finances last year, according to MS NOW. The Washington Examiner has reached out to Mills for comment.

The nature of the investigation is unclear but Cory Mills is facing allegations of domestic violence, stolen valor and financial crimes.

Earlier this year, GOP Rep. Nancy Mace filed to expel Cory Mills.

Nancy Mace accused Mills of beating women and lying about his military service.

MIlls denied the allegations and lashed out at Nancy Mace.

“This is a woman who continues to try and go after and attack people because she thinks it’s good for clickbait on social media, and for the simple concept of sensationalizing something that she can fundraise off of,” Mills said in April.

In response to US military aggression against southern Iran, which primarily targeted civilian infrastructure, the Iranian armed forces continued their retaliatory operations on Tuesday.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), under Operation Nasr-2 (Victory-2), and the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, under Operation Sa’eqeh (Lightning), launched a fresh wave of missile and drone strikes against US military targets across the region on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

The operations mark a new phase in Iran’s military response after the United States failed to honor its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), derailing diplomatic efforts and triggering a renewed escalation.

They follow Operation True Promise 4, launched after the US-Israeli coalition’s illegal and unprovoked war of aggression against the Islamic Republic that began on February 28 and lasted nearly 40 days. That campaign comprised more than 100 waves of missile and drone strikes targeting US and Israeli military assets across the West Asian region.

Although a subsequent ceasefire temporarily halted US-Israeli hostilities against the Islamic Republic, Washington’s continued violations of its commitments under the MoU and another wave of attacks on Iranian soil ultimately led to the resumption of military confrontation.

The following is a summary of the operations carried out by the Iranian armed forces on July 21:

'Dark night' for US radar and air defense systems

IRGC announced a major operation against US forces in response to Washington’s disruption of security in the Strait of Hormuz and its attacks on Iranian territory.

The IRGC said that during the 24th wave of Operation Nasr 2, carried out under the code name “Ya Ruqayyah (SA),” its aerospace force launched strikes aimed at removing obstacles and preparing the ground for wider missile and drone operations.

The Iranian forces destroyed a US radar system and air defense installation in Muharraq, Bahrain, completely disabling them.

A US Patriot air defense system in Riffa, Bahrain, was also targeted in a simultaneous missile and drone attack and destroyed.

In the second phase of the 24th wave of Operation Nasr 2, the IRGC Aerospace Force targeted US military infrastructure in Kuwait.

It destroyed US military systems at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, including an early warning radar, a missile defense radar system, an FPS-117 radar, a Patriot air defense system and a satellite communications system linked to US air defense operations.

It also targeted an MQ-9 drone hangar at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, with several drones destroyed or suffering extensive damage.

Iranian missile strikes against a US base in Jordan destroyed a missile defense radar system and an F-15 fighter jet inside its shelter.

The IRGC also announced that its Aerospace Force targeted the central data infrastructure of US spy company Amazon in Bahrain with several cruise missiles.

The statement said the operation was carried out in response to the previous day’s US attack on civilian and under-construction facilities in Darkhovin in the southern Khuzestan province of Iran.

The IRGC said its Aerospace Force also targeted a compound housing US troops in the al-Rukban area of Jordan. The statement said several US soldiers were killed in the strike.

IRGC: Two oil tankers halted after violating Strait of Hormuz routes

The IRGC announced the two oil tankers violating maritime regulations were halted after suffering explosions and large-scale fires following their attempt to enter and exit via the unsafe and accident-prone southern route of the Strait of Hormuz.

“Two violating oil tankers that, after being misled by the child-murdering US military, intended to pass through the dangerous route south of the Strait of Hormuz suffered explosions that caused extensive fires and brought them to a halt. Rescue and relief units are currently evacuating the crews of these vessels from the area,” the statement read.

The statement warned shipping companies to protect the safety of their crews and vessels, avoid relying on false information from the US military, and stay away from unsafe and contaminated routes.

“As long as the crimes of the United States in the region continue, the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, and not a single drop of oil and gas, nor a single package of chemical fertilizer, will be exported from the region,” the statement noted.

The IRGC also announced that punitive operations against the invading US bases had begun in response to maritime violations.

Radars at Ali Al Salem Air Base and Bubiyan Island put out of operation

As part of the 24th wave of Operation Nasr-2 and the ongoing campaign to clear the area of radar installations, IRGC struck and destroyed an early-warning radar and a tactical radar complex near Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

Another radar system on Kuwait's Bubiyan Island was also targeted by IRGC missiles, putting all of them out of operation.

Iranian Army launches 19th phase of Op. Sa’eqeh against US bases in Kuwait

The Iranian Army announced that the 19th phase of Operation Sa'eqeh began before dawn, targeting three major US military bases in Kuwait, Camp Arifjan, Camp Udairi, and Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base, with suicide drones.

According to the statement, Iranian drones struck administrative buildings and direction-finding antennas at Camp Arifjan, the helicopter parking area at Camp Udairi, and buildings housing US military personnel at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base.

The Army said Camp Arifjan is among the largest US military deployment centers and command headquarters for American ground forces in Southwest Asia.

Camp Udairi serves as a base for US Apache, Chinook, and Black Hawk helicopters belonging to American air and naval forces.

The statement said Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base plays a key role in US logistical support, surveillance, and air operations in West Asia.

In continuation of the 18th phase of Operation Sa’eqeh, Iranian surface-to-surface missiles targeted US Army HIMARS missile systems deployed at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait.

The Army described HIMARS as a mobile missile system capable of rapid deployment against ground targets, saying that destroying the systems would damage the offensive and defensive layers of the enemy and reduce the missile capabilities of the US military in its aggressive operations against Iran.

Federal Appeals Court Rejects Trump Advisor Navarro’s Appeal of Jan. 6 Contempt Conviction

A federal appeals court in Washington ruled on July 21 against White House trade advisor Peter Navarro, upholding his criminal conviction for contempt of Congress.

A federal jury convicted Navarro in 2023 on two misdemeanor counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena.

Navarro was indicted in 2022 for not honoring the subpoena from the Jan. 6 Select Committee that existed when Democrats controlled the U.S. House of Representatives. He entered not guilty pleas to the charges.

One count covered Navarro’s failure to produce documents the Select Committee requested; the other related to his failure to appear to provide testimony at a deposition. After sentencing, he served four months in prison.

Hours after his release, he spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention, telling the audience, “I went to prison so you won’t have to.”

The new, unanimous ruling was issued by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Circuit Judge Patricia Millett authored the opinion.

The panel noted that in 2021, Navarro published a book about his time in politics. He took credit for coming up with a plan to “leverage” then-Vice President Mike Pence’s powers under the Electoral Count Act of 1887 to “delay certification” of the official results for the presidential election on Jan. 6, 2021. The certification process was delayed that day for several hours by a security breach at the U.S. Capitol.

His statements were noticed by the Select Committee, which served Navarro with a subpoena that sought documents related to his book and public comments, and directed him to show up for a deposition. Navarro declined to appear or comply with the committee’s requests and pleaded executive privilege as a former advisor to a president. After the compliance deadline went by, the House of Representatives held him in contempt and a grand jury indicted him, the panel’s written opinion said.

Navarro moved to dismiss the indictment, arguing that President Donald Trump, had invoked executive privilege. The district court held an evidentiary hearing and found that executive privilege had not been invoked and declined to throw out the indictment. The court also granted the government’s motion to block Navarro from telling the jury that he mistakenly believed he did not have to reply to the committee’s subpoena. The jury found him guilty on both counts.

The panel said it was affirming because executive privilege is a prerogative that belongs to the president, not his aides, and besides, it was not actually invoked by the president.

The panel said Navarro’s decision not to comply went beyond any possible claim of privilege. He should have appeared, at which point he could have asserted specific privileges regarding individual questions, and could have produced non-privileged materials.

Moreover, Navarro “has acknowledged that even if executive privilege had been invoked, that would not have excused his categorical failure to comply with the Select Committee’s subpoena,” the panel said.

The U.S. Department of Justice did not participate in the appeal. Navarro’s team alone argued against the conviction.

Navarro’s attorney, Abhishek Kambli, said his client intends to appeal the latest ruling, which the lawyer described as “one step in a battle to correct decades of incorrect [D.C. Circuit] precedent.”

“He intends to move swiftly with his appeal because his case affects every senior presidential advisor, regardless of political party, who believes in good faith they cannot comply with a congressional subpoena based on executive privilege,” Kambli said.

Texas Gov. Abbott Orders State Agencies to Investigate Illegal Birth Tourism Schemes

Gov. Greg Abbott on July 21 ordered Texas state agencies to start investigating and eliminating illegal birth tourism schemes and hold accountable any licensed healthcare providers that participate in them.

The governor signed an executive order targeting the schemes that entice illegal immigrants to cross the border into Texas to deliver babies who are then granted U.S. citizenship.

“Texas will not tolerate the exploitation of our immigration laws by individuals traveling to the United States illegally or under false pretenses to give birth and secure citizenship for their child,” Abbott said in a statement. “U.S. citizenship is not for sale, and Texas will put a stop to individuals seeking to profit from birth tourism.”

Texas has ramped up efforts to rid the state of the birthright citizenship industry following the Supreme Court’s decision last month striking down President Donald Trump’s executive order excluding children of illegal immigrants and legal temporary visitors from automatic birthright citizenship.

Trump said he would ask the justices to rehear the case. In the meantime, the president said signs and billboards were appearing “all over our southern border, and Mexico” selling deliveries starting at $4,000.

Abbott’s order directs the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the Department of State Health Services, and other state agencies to investigate claims of birth tourism within the state’s healthcare industry.

Under the executive order, the agencies must take enforcement action against any licensed or regulated person or entity who advertises, solicits, engages in, assists with, provides, or participates in illegal birth tourism schemes.

Consequences for engaging in the schemes include medical and nursing board license suspensions or revocations; the loss of state contracts and administrative sanctions; and civil lawsuits against the operators for coaching foreign nationals to deceive federal immigration officials.

Within hours of the Supreme Court decision, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a memo directing all U.S. Attorneys and the criminal division to work with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to prioritize the investigation and prosecution of birth tourism schemes.

Deputy Attorney General Colin McDonald said in the memo that the American system of birth tourism is exploited each year by thousands of foreigners who travel to the United States under false pretenses to give birth.

Federal law prohibits birth tourism schemes, as many foreigners enter with a false visa application stating a dishonest reason for why they are entering the country, according to McDonald.

The Texas Attorney General’s Office has taken steps to combat illegal birth tourism in the state, including suing a Houston-area facility that claims to have helped 1,000 or more foreign nationals and coached customers on how to enter the United States illegally to give birth, according to Abbott.

The governor has already directed the Texas Health and Human Services Commission this month to launch an investigation into reports that Texas hospitals were advertising birth tourism packages abroad, he said.

In another case, two Texas medical centers allegedly posted billboard ads in a foreign country advertising “birth packages” in the southern region of the state for prices as low as $3,950.

The lottery winner of the second-largest Powerball jackpot in history has been revealed as the younger brother of an Arkansas mayor.

Six months ago, the sole winner of the $1.8 billion Powerball lottery jackpot came forward to collect their prize. After a period of anonymity, their identity has been revealed.

Arkansas Lottery records, obtained by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, state that the winner's name is Tracy Hartwick. Tracy's older brother is Terry Hartwick, who is currently serving his third term as North Little Rock mayor.

While Arkansas law means most lottery winners of $500,000 and more can remain anonymous for a period of three years after claiming their prize, there is an exception for elected officials and their close relatives, who are only entitled to six months of anonymity.

Tracy purchased $30 worth of Powerball plays for the Dec. 24, 2025 drawing at the Murphy USA gas station at 208 South Rockwood Drive in Cabot but only needed one of his Quick Picks to match all six winning numbers to emerge the nation's only winner: 4, 25, 31, 52, and 59, with red Powerball number 19.

Records show that, after choosing to receive the prize as an $834.9 million cash option,Tracy split the prize with two other people.While he took home 94% of the winnings (about $565.8 million after taxes) on Jan. 20, he allocated 3% to his other brother, Timothy Hartwick, and 3% to another, unidentified non-relative, who is likely protected by state anonymity laws as someone unrelated to an official.

Timothy's share added up to about $18 million after taxes.

Terry has served in a public capacity since 1985, when he was first elected mayor of North Little Rock. He went on to act as CEO of the city's chamber of commerce and then worked for the parks and recreation department.

He was reelected as mayor in 2020 and ran unopposed in 2024, leading to his current third term in office.

The mayor was previously involved in an investigation surrounding accusations of assault. However, the case was dismissed due to a lack of evidence.

Thousands of Noncitizens Registered to Vote in New Jersey, Governor Says

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill said a software error in the state’s Motor Vehicle Commission system resulted in roughly 6,600 people who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens being registered to vote between June 2023 and June 2024.

Sherrill said in a statement that the individuals answered “no” when asked on a keypad whether they were U.S. citizens while applying for driver’s licenses or identification cards, but they were registered because of a software error.

According to the governor, a preliminary analysis found that fewer than 400 individuals who were newly registered because of the error voted. She said those voters were registered as Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated voters and were located throughout the state.

The governor said the issue occurred under the previous administration. She said she has directed her chief counsel to investigate what happened and ordered election officials to remove any residents who were erroneously added to the voter rolls during that period.

In a press conference, the governor said the error was fixed in June 2024, but she learned about it recently.

Sherrill also said the Motor Vehicle Commission administrator she appointed has begun replacing the vendor responsible for administering the system.

Sherrill said she was “appalled” by what she described as failures that allowed the error to occur and said those responsible would be held accountable.

She also accused the Trump administration of attempting to “weaponize elections for political gain.”

The White House stated in an email to The Epoch Times that the New Jersey error highlights the need to pass the SAVE America Act, which Republicans say is necessary to ensure election integrity.

“Democrats and their media allies have repeatedly said it is impossible for noncitizens to register to vote, let alone cast a ballot. Time and again, they have been proven wrong,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said.

“As President [Donald] Trump has said, there is nothing more important than the integrity of our elections. And this latest incident underscores the absolute necessity of the SAVE America Act. American voters deserve to have confidence that our elections are safe and secure—President Donald Trump will never stop fighting to make that happen, and all patriotic Americans should join in his effort.”

The governor said the state would continue taking steps to ensure that only eligible citizens vote and that lawful votes are counted.

New Jersey Assembly Minority Leader John DiMaio, a Republican, said he wants election security reforms, including requiring voter ID, and a full audit of New Jersey voter rolls.

“New Jersey Republicans have been sounding the alarm for years that the automatic voter registration process at the MVC [Motor Vehicle Commission] was highly problematic,” DiMaio said in a statement. “In 2020 and again in 2025, voters were disenfranchised after the system changed party affiliations. When we questioned MVC officials, they refused to disclose how they safeguard the process. Trenton Democrats have continued to undermine public trust in our elections, and it’s time for change.”

House passes stopgap bill to fund the government into early December

The House voted 220-205 to pass a stopgap funding bill that would fund the government until Dec. 4.

The continuing resolution would buy lawmakers more time to go through the appropriations process. It would also allow Congress to avert a government shutdown before the midterm elections. The next government funding deadline is Sept. 30.

The continuing resolution is now headed to the Senate, where Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said he will hold a vote on it but cautioned it doesn’t have all the provisions the White House requested. The bill is highly unlikely to get the 60 votes needed for passage in the Senate.

Thune left the door open to using budget reconciliation, which requires only a simple majority of 51 votes, to fund the government if the House-passed continuing resolution, or CR, can’t get the necessary bipartisan support for passage.

“We’re going to vote on it this work period, and then we’ll see. I mean, if they send us a budget resolution, that is a potential legislative vehicle in the event that, you know, the wheels come off on a CR. But the CR is, in my view, the best way to do this,” he said today.

The U.S. war with Iran continues to be a major distraction, diverting attention from other problems even within the Middle East. The Israeli government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would not want it any other way.

An image of Iran as a regional bête noire has long served Israel’s objective of drawing international attention away from Israeli conduct. This is a major reason Israel has promoted unending confrontation with Iran, including the starting and continuation of the current war. This also helps explain why Israel opposes and often seeks to sabotage diplomacy with Tehran.

Netanyahu’s government is using the current preoccupation with a rekindled U.S.-Iranian war to intensify its violent subjugation of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. While President Donald Trump has said little about Gaza in recent weeks, Israel’s actions there are undermining the president’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which he proposed last October.

To the extent the president is thinking about peace agreements in the Middle East, he is unsurprisingly focused on the conflict with Iran. If he tries to influence Netanyahu, it probably will be to avoid any Israeli sabotage of a new ceasefire with Iran, rather than to make progress on Palestinian matters.

Israel has treated the Gaza ceasefire, to which Hamas agreed and which supposedly went into effect last October, the way it has treated other ceasefires; it has not ended offensive military operations but merely reduced their tempo somewhat. Israel has killed more than 1,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and injured more than 3,000 since the start of this “ceasefire.”

The tempo of Israeli operations has not lessened since the start of the current war with Iran. In fact, it may have increased. Within the past week, Israel attacked a police station in the Jabalia displacement camp, killing at least eight people, including the station’s chief and several other police officers, whose job was to maintain order in a marketplace at the camp.

The attack continued an Israeli campaign of destroying the human and physical infrastructure needed for some semblance of normal civilian life in Gaza. The targets have included hospitals and medical personnel, schools and teachers, and other police officers. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has recorded at least twelve Israeli attacks on police in Gaza since the start of this year, killing at least 53 people. The killed officers were conducting such mundane but necessary tasks as directing traffic or, like the officers at Jabalia, ensuring order in a crowded marketplace. The Israeli military customarily claims, without offering evidence, that at least some of the police officers it has killed were Hamas militants.

It is not only the ceasefire that remains largely unimplemented. Most of Trump’s 20-point plan is stalled, and Israeli resistance is the chief reason. No progress is being made toward Israeli withdrawal from the territory. Israeli forces have erected fortifications along the “yellow line,” literally cementing indefinite Israeli occupation of more than half the Gaza Strip. In recent months, Israeli forces have only expanded the area they control, from 53% to 60% of the Gaza Strip.

New York City is already struggling under the weight of crime, reduced revenue due to people leaving, and the border crisis.

First, a 2006 National Security Council threat assessment evaluated Smartmatic’s acquisition of the U.S. voting systems company Sequoia as a “moderate overall threat to US national security interests.” The assessment rested on two pillars: intelligence indicating Venezuelan government intent to influence U.S. politics, and documented evidence that Venezuela had manipulated its own electoral systems. That finding led directly to pressure from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, which forced Smartmatic to divest Sequoia by 2007.

Additionally, intelligence reporting from April 2004 indicated Hugo Chávez stated his objective was to prevent the reelection of a sitting U.S. president – language the document says the IC treated as evidence of intent to influence U.S. domestic politics, not merely Venezuelan politics.

Lastly, prior to Venezuela’s 2012 presidential election, intelligence reporting described Chávez’s intelligence services – military counterintelligence and the Bolivarian Intelligence Service – as working with the National Electoral Council and Smartmatic to develop a specific manipulation plan: deploying altered machines to roughly 300 voting centers in pro-Chávez strongholds to secure a margin of about 1.5 million votes. Sources reportedly said Chávez congratulated his team afterward for “successfully implementing” it. Separately, September 2020 reporting on Venezuela’s National Assembly election described a technical method: creating a second, parallel set of “virtual machines” that would replicate legitimate vote data while substituting manipulated results, engineered specifically to survive standard audit procedures.

That is a documented election-manipulation plan, and a documented manipulation method, from the same company whose voting systems now run some of the largest election jurisdictions in the United States.

The baseline assessment problem makes the document even harder to take at face value. Despite reporting a detailed 2012 manipulation plan, the CIA’s stated baseline assessment – repeated twice in five pages – “maintained that large-scale electronic fraud did not occur.” The stated reasoning: pre-election polling had Chávez ahead by roughly 10 points, government spending rose 24 percent before the vote, the opposition conceded, and CIA’s own quantitative analysis found no irregular voting patterns.

Notice what ISN’T doing the work in that reasoning: none of it is forensic examination of the machines or the vote data themselves. It’s circumstantial; polling, spending, concession. A candidate can win comfortably by legitimate means and have intelligence services simultaneously execute a manipulation plan for a smaller margin; the document offers no forensic finding that rules out the latter, only inference that it wasn’t necessary. The document’s own 2013 “Devil’s Advocacy” analysis – an internal exercise built specifically to stress-test the baseline conclusion – acknowledged “conflicting” reporting and “limited insight into key elements of the electronic voting system”.

That same company now holds dominion (no pun intended) over the largest U.S. election jurisdiction. In June 2018, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously awarded Smartmatic USA a contract, capped at $282,097,321, to build LA County’s new “Voting Solutions for All People” (VSAP) ballot-marking system – the same Smartmatic named throughout the CIA’s Venezuela reporting. VSAP was certified and deployed in time for the 2020 presidential election, and Smartmatic has continued servicing it through 2024, by the company’s own account. LA County is the largest single election jurisdiction in the United States.

Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of Florida have since indicted Smartmatic and its parent company, SGO, along with three former executives – including co-founder Roger Piñate Martinez – on bribery and money-laundering charges. Filings allege the company overbilled LA County on the $282 million contract and diverted the surplus into a “slush fund,” the same mechanism prosecutors say Smartmatic used to bribe an election official in a Philippines contract dispute. LA County’s own top elections official, Dean Logan, has acknowledged regularly meeting with Piñate during this period.

If the agency knew this much about a single vendor’s conduct in Venezuela, and that same vendor went on to build election infrastructure for America’s largest county, the honest question isn’t whether something happened here. It’s what else the intelligence community already knows, and hasn’t yet told the public, because the CIA just wrote the case against its own conclusion.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was asked during a Capitol Hill press conference on Tuesday at what point he will move to use congressional power to check President Donald Trump’s war in Iran. Johnson pointedly ended his reply bysaying “we’ve got to wrap it up” in Iran, which many pundits and political insiders have warned is an additional threat to the GOP keeping its majorities in Congress.

Johnson’s answer appeared to be at odds with Trump, who vowed earlier in the day to continue bombing Iran indefinitely until they come to the negotiating table in good faith.

“You repeatedly said that you trust the administration to handle the war with Iran. We’re now five months in, and the U.S. troop toll has surpassed that of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Given that, at what point are you willing to put an AUMF on the floor, or vote for a War Powers Act resolution to try and remove it?” asked an off-camera reporter.

“The administration is working very hard — the commander-in-chief and the whole Department of War — they’re working very hard to bring this to a resolution. There’s a lot of discussion about how that will be done. We’re all closely watching those developments, of course. I don’t think an AUMF is in order right now. I think we need to bring it to a resolution,” Johnson replied, adding:

Look, I think it’s important — in my personal view — for all of our international partners to have a role in this. I mean, we’ve got all of our allied nations, NATO, we’ve had the Arab countries over there, the Gulf states that are in closest proximity to Iran. Iran has now fired on all of its neighbors, and they’re turning everybody in the world into an enemy. So I think this is an important moment in history for the entire world community to decide how they want to handle this. It shouldn’t just be America’s obligation — my view is that everybody needs to play a role. So we’ll see how that develops. I think we have to allow the space to do that.

And I know this administration is working around the clock to resolve that in a way so they don’t suffer any more troop losses. This is a great tragedy — it shouldn’t happen. But it is a very important objective, one that I believe we’ve achieved, to ensure that the largest state sponsor of terrorism does not have a nuclear weapon. That would be a disaster for everybody, and everybody around the world understands that.

Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn is threatening to vote down theambassadorial nominations of two top Trump allies on Wednesday unless the Trump administration releases money aimed at fighting the spread of AIDS in Africa.(guaranteed he and others get a huge kickback for the drug companies involved and NGO’s dispensing it)

Cornyn told Semafor that he would not support committee action on Kari Lake’s nomination to be ambassador to Jamaica or Doug Mastriano’s bid to become ambassador to Slovakiawithout confirmation that the administration will distribute money from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, commonly known as PEPFAR.

The Foreign Relations Committee is set to take up Lake’s nomination on Wednesday, and Mastriano is likely to be added to the slate.

“The only way it seems like you can get the administration’s attention on some of these funding issues is by using the leverage to withhold votes on nominees,” Cornyn said in an interview. “We are going to use the committee vote tomorrow as a way to … get the money distributed the way Congress appropriated it.”

It’s a threat with teeth. Cornyn could singlehandedly stall both nominees in the committee, which has 12 Republican and 10 Democratic members, with all of the latter planning to vote no. With full attendance, that means a tie vote on the nominees, which would fail — though Cornyn said he thinks “I will not be alone” in his stand.

The Texan, who lost his reelection bid earlier this year after President Donald Trump backed his primary challenger, said he would also vote against Lake and Mastriano on the Senate floor if the nominees manage to get through committee and his concerns haven’t been addressed.

Lake and Mastriano are both stalwart Trump allies who lost gubernatorial races in 2022; Lake also lost a Senate race in 2024. Sen. John Curtis, R-Utah, told Semafor on Tuesday that he’s “taking a hard look” at the two nominations.

Cornyn has already shown a keen awareness of his leverage; he threatened to vote against a GOP spending bill earlier this year unless the Trump administration released border security money for Texas. The administration moved to soothe his concerns quickly.

He is also undecided on attorney general nominee Todd Blanche, who’s expected to get a Judiciary Committee vote before senators break for the month of August.

Cornyn said he conveyed his intentions to vote against Lake and Mastriano if PEPFAR money isn’t released to Senate Foreign Relations Chair Jim Risch, R-Idaho. The administration did not immediately comment.

Loosh theory

I've heard this theory that we're being farmed for loosh but nobody has explained what this is. I just woke up from a dream where me and my dad were transporting crates on a box truck and we got payed immediately after dropping it off. The specifics are irrelevant but it got me thinking. The way the world is going AI will be taking most if not all the jobs in the future. What else do we currently have going? Crypto mining. What if someone in the future, (probably a corporation), comes up with a realistic world (earthland)and if you work a job with your avatar then you can earn crypto back in your real world/base layer. You would be in essence mining a crypto block with your mind/chip. What if this loosh is the crypto credit/tokens you use to pay your rent or bills. But if we're kept here against our will then it's akin to sex trafficking. Rather than using us as a battery they could be using us as a GPU for crypto mining. A quantum computer works very similarly to a GPU. There's already a precedent to this type of thinking corporately speaking. Microsoft has a patent WO2020060606A1. It's a cryptocurrency system using body activity data. Notice the three 06s in the patent number. 060606 the number of the beast. It's all coming together. What do you make of this hypothesis?
