Mom shooting man under daughter’s bed wasn’t premeditated: Attorney.

 

(NewsNation) — A Memphis woman charged with murder and shooting a man she found hiding under her 13-year-old daughter’s bed acted out of raw emotion, not premeditation, her defense attorney said.

 

Kendra Scott, 36, appeared in court Monday, where a judge set her bond at $100,000. She’s been charged with first-degree murder and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony in the death of 20-year-old Rodderius Morton.

 

Tennessee mom found man under her 13-year-old daughter’s bed

Police say Scott came home around 1:40 a.m. Thursday and found Morton hiding under her daughter’s bed. Officers later found Morton dead in the front yard from a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

 

Scott’s attorney, Blake Ballin, told “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” the case hinges on what happened in the moments before the shooting, not on whether Scott had a reason to be afraid.

 

“The real question is, is this first-degree premeditated murder? I think the answer is obviously not,” Ballin said. Ballin said the case could ultimately come down to a lesser charge.

 

“Whether this is self-defense or not, that’s one angle we’ll be looking at. The other is, is this something like voluntary manslaughter, which is a lower form of homicide in Tennessee?” he said.

 

A juvenile witness told police Morton had been invited into the home and entered through the back door around 1 a.m. Investigators are still working to determine exactly what happened on the porch, where a neighbor told police he saw Scott holding a gun saying, “I shot him.”

 

Scott allegedly told police, “I saw a dude under my kid’s bed and I did what I had to do.”

 

Man shot by Kendra Scott had learning disabilities: Former teacher

NewsNation local affiliate WREG spoke to a former teacher of Morton, who said she wished it was handled differently because Morton had learning disabilities.

“He was special needs, and I was his special needs teacher,” Robin Perkins said.

 

“Unbelievable, very, very hurt. Because the young man that I knew, most people, based off this story, they don’t know the young man like I did,” Perkins said. “I do not condone his actions of going and mingling with a 13-year-old. However, when you’re not 20, what do you expect?”

Scott’s attorney also told NewsNation that reports she had previously warned she would shoot any boy she found in the house will not hurt her case.

 

“They understand that parents are protective of their children,” Ballin said.

Scott is due back in court next month.

Moldovan rabbi named in widening Ukraine arms smuggling case

Rabbi Pinhas Zaltzman has been linked to the truck carrying advanced weapons seized about a year ago at the Moldova-Romania border crossing; according to the driver, the destination of the arms was Israel; the rabbi denies any connection to the case

The affair began in November 2025, when Romanian customs authorities stopped a truck that had arrived from Moldova carrying advanced weapons, including anti-tank and anti-aircraft systems, RPG launchers and drone parts. The driver said then that “the destination of the shipment is Israel,” raising questions.

Now, after the publication of parts of the ruling in the case of one of the defendants, it has emerged that one of those involved, Alexei Piankovsky, claimed in his interrogation that Zaltzman had asked him to transfer equipment from Ukraine to Moldova and later to Israel. According to Piankovsky’s testimony, Zaltzman described the items as “leftovers” from humanitarian equipment or as medical equipment intended for repair, not as weapons.

The ruling noted that in mobile phones seized as part of the investigation, investigators found conversations between some of the defendants and Zaltzman, as well as photos of weapons and photos from his phone. Here too, the document does not determine the meaning of the findings and does not attribute criminal responsibility to him.

The spokesman for Moldova’s Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime refused to confirm or deny whether Zaltzman has any status in the case, saying only that “the investigation continues against several people whose identities are not being disclosed at this stage.”

Alongside the legal reports, sources in Moldova’s Jewish community claimed that Zaltzman himself has not been seen in the country for many months. According to them, his last visit was in October 2025, and he has not returned to Moldova since, including during Hanukkah, Purim and Passover. The same sources also claimed that the Jewish community recently appointed Rabbi Menachem Mendel Axelrod as chief rabbi of Moldova.

Zaltzman himself rejected the claims outright, saying he remains the chief rabbi of Moldova.

“This is an old affair, with which I have no connection whatsoever," he told ynet. "Among the people quoted in the article is a Jewish criminal who sometimes came to pray at the synagogue. The attempt to drag my name into the incident is ridiculous and has no connection to reality. As part of my activities in recent years, I have had the privilege of greatly assisting tens of thousands of Jews, whether refugees from Ukraine or any refugee who needed help, regardless of origin or background.

“In this framework, I worked extensively in the field of assistance, without any compensation and in accordance with the law,” Zaltzman continued. “The attempt, from the beginning, to turn this activity of mine into an attempt to smuggle weapons is a cynical exploitation by marginal political elements within the Jewish community, in place of an open-door policy of assistance to every Jew. There are countless witnesses who can testify to that. I am sorry that such a marginal, biased and false publication is being echoed in the Israeli press. All my life I have acted according to the law and out of a sense of mission to save Jews, and I will continue to do so.”

The case continues to be handled in courts in Moldova and Romania. Some of the defendants have been released from custody, one admitted to the charges against him and was sentenced to a suspended prison term, and the investigation into additional suspects is still ongoing.

According to Moldova’s Jewish community, Zaltzman is not the chief rabbi and is attributing to himself a role that is not his. “He was never elected or appointed to this position by the authorized bodies. He has no mandate to represent the community. The role he attributed to himself does not correspond to a position that has been recognized or approved institutionally and does not reflect the administrative structure of the organization’s leadership,” according to a statement issued by the community.

In November 2025, Romanian customs authorities arrested a Moldovan citizen who was transporting in his truck an arsenal of heavy weapons, including anti-aircraft missile systems, anti-tank rockets and components for suicide drones. The driver declared at the time that the shipment was bound for Israel, but the shipping details have raised many doubts among politicians in Moldova, who believe the weapons came from Ukraine as part of a global smuggling chain.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee,recently released diary entries, Tony’s Diary Package, from former White House COVID advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci that show a bizarre, yet characteristic, obsession with fame, even as the death toll from the pandemic grew.

 

The diaries were public as part of the committee’s ongoing oversight investigation.

 

Senator Paul shared a series of statments X about the diary and the release, “My investigation uncovered that Anthony Fauci kept a diary.What he wrote privately and what he told the country are two different stories. Today I’m releasing his entries from December 2019 through December 2022.”

 

“While publicly posturing as a champion of science,he was privately directing his staff to destroy federal records. This is a blatant violation, a betrayal of the public trust, and further proof that Fauci engaged in a coverup from the very beginning of the pandemic. I’m going to ask him about this when he goes under oath this Wednesday.”

 

The entries chronicle early COVID-19 (initially called 2019-nCoV) response activities, Task Force meetings, briefings, scientific discussions, and extensive media work.

 

Multiple entries record his reactions to praise, media profiles, public adulation, and celebrity status amid the unfolding crisis.

 

In one entry, Fauci writes that during a White House Task Force meeting in the Situation Room, President Trump publicly praises him as “really a famous guy… the smartest, knowledgeable and outstanding persons he knows.”

 

He records being “surprised and very pleased” and “stunned and impressed” by the reactions of deputies,despite the meeting’s topic being evacuations, quarantines, and rising case numbers.

 

After congressional briefings amid discussions of expanding quarantines and a Public Health Emergency declaration,Fauci notes praise such as from former Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) calling him a “national hero” and saying she “felt safe in his arms.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Jewishradio host Sid Rosenberg joined Fox News and Friends yesterday morning and went scorched earth on NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, holding nothing back.

 

Recently, Mamdani sauntered up to the mic like a bantam rooster to boast that his administration was actively considering whether he could direct police to detain Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he travels to New York in September for the United Nations General Assembly.

 

In an interview on the New York Timespodcast The Interview, Mamdani said Netanyahu “belongs in the Hague,” calling him a war criminal charged by the International Criminal Court over the Gaza war.

 

With these facts in mind, Rosenberg went absolutely scorched earth on the communist mayor.

 

“People are very nice people, but trying to talk to Mayor Mamdani is like trying to talk to the IRGC, okay? This guy is a terrorist. That’s the bottom line. I’ll say it. You don’t want to say it. I’ll say it. He’s a terrorist. He’s a jihadist,” Rosenberg said.

 

“He hates the Jewish people. He hates America. He hates the Italian people. He hates the Irish people,” he continued. “He hates the German people. Unless you’re Muslim, Mayor Mamdani has no use for you.”

 

“He is a horrible person and maybe has perpetrated the worst American and Jewish hate in the history of this country. Those two people were stabbed the other day in the Upper East Side of New York City. That blood is on his hands. That blood is on your hands, Mayor Mamdani.”

While conservative viewers cheered on Rosenberg following his rant,Fox and Friends panicked and quickly distanced itself from his remarks.

 

Roughly 40 minutes later, Fox and Friends Weekend co-host Jenkins addressed Rosenberg calling Mamdani a terrorist. He not only fully condemned the statement, but fretted over the serious “meaning” of the word.

my FEMALE english teacher in high school read this passage to us WITH DELIGHT in order to shame the hoes in class and validate the good ones while also pointing out what a real man looks like. She even said as much with the lesson, basically without calling them out, by defining the play's "stereotypical gender roles" with great glee. The express purpose of this English 10 lesson was to shame the whores in class publicly without naming them, just knowing they existed.

Killing traitors was how it was done. The women executed spent years working with the suitors. They not only spied for them and helped them as they violated the palace, they abandoned their duties and smiled in the faces of Telemachus and Penelope as they enjoyed having more authority in the palace than the Prince and the Queen. I've read this book several time, and I never had a problem with the ending. Odysseus had to literally and figuratively clean house, and traitors were not allowed to stay. The women just had to clean and got hung; the male servants who betrayed Odysseus got it much worse.

The Lebanese-German ISIS terrorist who ploughed a vehicle into a Pride parade, killing one and injuring 29 has been shot and killed.

Abdul Ballout rammed a van into a crowd at Berlin's annual Christopher Street Day Pride parade on Saturday.

 

German media reported on Sunday that the 21-year-old had been shot and killed during a police operation at a garden complex in Spandau, west Berlin.

 

Police said it was believed he had 'rushed towards our emergency forces with a stabbing weapon, after which police firearms were used by our SEK (Special Operations Command) Berlin'.

 

A spokesman added that 'despite immediate resuscitation measures' the suspect died at the scene.

 

The force said it is 'not currently looking for others' in connection with the attack.

 

Officials had launched a largescale manhunt for the terrorist, who had previously tried to join the Islamic State (IS) group.

 

Police sources, quoted by German media, said Abdul B, a German citizen, had travelled to Lebanon in 2025 in an unsuccessful attempt to join the IS group.

 

He had been in pre-trial detention until May 2026, and was ordered to take part in a de-radicalisation programme.

 

In an update this afternoon, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt confirmed the number of people injured had risen from 16 to 29, three of whom have suffered life-threatening injuries.

 

He said 'everything we are seeing here indicates that we have experienced an Islamist attack'.

 

Mr Dobrindt said the suspect 'rammed into a crowd with a car' and 'then attacked the crowd with some type of blade, it might have been a machete, and also severely injured those people'.

 

The minister said: 'We cannot rule out the possibility that further terrorist attacks might take place.'

 

Mr Dobrindt added that Abdul B was born in Germany in 2005 and has a Lebanese background. His mother became a naturalised German citizen in 2002.

 

This May, he was convicted in Germany of 'preparing a serious act of subversive violence,' the papers report, but according to Spiegel news magazine, Abdul B received a suspended sentence.

 

According to Bild newspaper, he was arrested in Lebanon while attempting to join IS and sent back to Germany as he is a German citizen.

 

Spiegel reported that a few weeks ago there was a tip-off that Abdul B had posted a photo online posing with a weapon.

 

However, a search of his apartment turned up only a toy replica. Police had been deployed to the suspect's alleged address, around one kilometre south of the scene of the attack.

 

Following Saturday's attack, Berlin's mayor, Kai Wegner, said: 'This was an attack on all of us. It was an attack on our way of life and coexistence… and our way of life. Ladies and gentlemen, this must end. We must be very clear about this.'

 

Police and prosecutors said the suspect was believed to have injured several people with a moving vehicle before one or more people left the van.

 

Several people were also apparently stabbed, they added.

 

Chancellor Friedrich Merz described the incident as 'an attack on our society'.

 

'What an abhorrent act in Berlin,' Merz wrote in a post on X. He added that Germany loves freedom, 'and we will preserve and defend that'.

 

The attack unfolded near the city's annual Pride celebrations on Saturday evening, triggering a major emergency response and prompting authorities to launch a large-scale manhunt.

 

Police have not yet disclosed a motive but are investigating the incident as a suspected extremist attack.

 

According to police, a white van drove into the Tiergarten park around 10pm and hit several people before colliding with a tree.

 

The closing party at the Pride festival, known as Christopher Street Day, was going on nearby at the time, following a parade with some 80 trucks that had made its way through downtown Berlin earlier in the day.

 

Julian Miethig, who had attended the LGBTQ+ party earlier, said he had just wanted to go to an afterparty when he heard from a friend that 'something bad happened'.

 

He said he went to Tiergarten and was shocked that something like this could have happened at Berlin's Pride celebrations. 'It's a dark day for the community,' he added.

USA Women Win Gold Medal At 2026 World Cup Final With 13-9 Victory Over Spain

 

Sydney, Australia - July 25 - The USA Women won the gold medal at the 2026 World Aquatics World Cup Final today with a 13-9 victory over Spain. Team USA returned the favor when Ausmus drew a penalty foul and Ryann Neushul converted the attempt. Then, Ausmus got out in front of the defense on a counter attack and registered a first half hat trick with her third goal. Spain pulled back within one with its next goal before Ausmus scored again to give the United States a 7-5 halftime edge.

 

The Spanish got the first goal of the second half prior to Neushul notching her second score. Spain tied the game with back-to-back goals and then Paige Hauschild sent a perfect lob pass over the defense to Fattal to retake the lead. Ausmus put two more away to continue her big night but Spain scored in the final ten seconds of the quarter for an 11-9 American advantage.

 

The final frame began with two great saves from Longan and then Jordan Raney sent a beautiful lob shot in for her first. From there, the United States took control of the match with stifling defense and smart ball control. Raney duplicated her deft lob shot late to put the finishing touches on the 13-9 victory.

 

Team USA went 7/13 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties while Spain went 3/11 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties.

The Lebanese-German ISIS terrorist who ploughed a vehicle into a Pride parade, killing one and injuring 29 has been shot and killed.

Abdul Ballout rammed a van into a crowd at Berlin's annual Christopher Street Day Pride parade on Saturday.

 

German media reported on Sunday that the 21-year-old had been shot and killed during a police operation at a garden complex in Spandau, west Berlin.

 

Police said it was believed he had 'rushed towards our emergency forces with a stabbing weapon, after which police firearms were used by our SEK (Special Operations Command) Berlin'.

 

A spokesman added that 'despite immediate resuscitation measures' the suspect died at the scene.

 

The force said it is 'not currently looking for others' in connection with the attack.

 

Officials had launched a largescale manhunt for the terrorist, who had previously tried to join the Islamic State (IS) group.

 

Police sources, quoted by German media, said Abdul B, a German citizen, had travelled to Lebanon in 2025 in an unsuccessful attempt to join the IS group.

 

He had been in pre-trial detention until May 2026, and was ordered to take part in a de-radicalisation programme.

 

In an update this afternoon, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt confirmed the number of people injured had risen from 16 to 29, three of whom have suffered life-threatening injuries.

 

He said 'everything we are seeing here indicates that we have experienced an Islamist attack'.

 

Mr Dobrindt said the suspect 'rammed into a crowd with a car' and 'then attacked the crowd with some type of blade, it might have been a machete, and also severely injured those people'.

 

The minister said: 'We cannot rule out the possibility that further terrorist attacks might take place.'

 

Mr Dobrindt added that Abdul B was born in Germany in 2005 and has a Lebanese background. His mother became a naturalised German citizen in 2002.

 

This May, he was convicted in Germany of 'preparing a serious act of subversive violence,' the papers report, but according to Spiegel news magazine, Abdul B received a suspended sentence.

 

According to Bild newspaper, he was arrested in Lebanon while attempting to join IS and sent back to Germany as he is a German citizen.

 

Spiegel reported that a few weeks ago there was a tip-off that Abdul B had posted a photo online posing with a weapon.

 

However, a search of his apartment turned up only a toy replica. Police had been deployed to the suspect's alleged address, around one kilometre south of the scene of the attack.

 

Following Saturday's attack, Berlin's mayor, Kai Wegner, said: 'This was an attack on all of us. It was an attack on our way of life and coexistence… and our way of life. Ladies and gentlemen, this must end. We must be very clear about this.'

 

Police and prosecutors said the suspect was believed to have injured several people with a moving vehicle before one or more people left the van.

 

Several people were also apparently stabbed, they added.

 

Chancellor Friedrich Merz described the incident as 'an attack on our society'.

 

'What an abhorrent act in Berlin,' Merz wrote in a post on X. He added that Germany loves freedom, 'and we will preserve and defend that'.

 

The attack unfolded near the city's annual Pride celebrations on Saturday evening, triggering a major emergency response and prompting authorities to launch a large-scale manhunt.

 

Police have not yet disclosed a motive but are investigating the incident as a suspected extremist attack.

According to police, a white van drove into the Tiergarten park around 10pm and hit several people before colliding with a tree.

 

The closing party at the Pride festival, known as Christopher Street Day, was going on nearby at the time, following a parade with some 80 trucks that had made its way through downtown Berlin earlier in the day.

Hundreds of thousands of people had come to Berlin to be at one of Europe's largest LGBTQ+ celebrations on Saturday, although it is unclear how many were still at the festival by late evening.

 

The word 'Evacuation' was displayed in bright colours on a large screen near the Brandenburg Gate, as people were urged to go home and to avoid taking the route through the Tiergarten park, with an Instagram post instructing them to leave in an 'orderly manner'.

 

'Please avoid the Victory Column and the Tiergarten. Leave the area in the direction of the main train station,' the post read.

Bores lost that race, but it may have been something of a pyrrhic victory for Leading the Future. All its spending sparked unwelcome chatter about the group in both tech and political circles.

 

During the Bores campaign, word circulated among Democrats on Capitol Hill that embracing serious AI regulation could have its costs — that pro-AI forces would “try to destroy you,” according to one swing state Democratic political strategist granted anonymity to speak candidly. Some of Leading the Future’s hardball tactics have also led prominent companies, including OpenAI, to distance themselves from the PAC.

The political salience of AI is growing rapidly, and the issue is set to be a defining one for voters in the 2026 and 2028 elections. With Vlasto and Moffatt running the AI industry’s richest political organization, they’re now among the most important — and controversial — operatives in America.

Chip Roy (R-TX) is preparing to introduce legislation that would expand federal immigration law to make foreign nationals inadmissible, deportable and ineligible for naturalization if they are affiliated with or advocate for certain political or ideological organizations, according to bill text obtained by Breitbart News.

 

The proposal, titled the MAMDANI Act, would amend existing immigration law to prohibit admission to the U.S. for foreign nationals who are members of, affiliated with or advocate for communist, socialist, Chinese Communist or Islamic fundamentalist parties, as well as other totalitarian organizations.

 

The legislation would also apply to individuals affiliated with or advocating for organizations that promote socialism, communism, Chinese communism, Marxism or Islamic fundamentalism, according to the bill text.

 

In addition to creating new grounds for inadmissibility, the proposal would establish new deportation provisions. Under the bill, foreign nationals could be removed from the U.S. if they engage in advocacy for communism, socialism, Marxism, Chinese communism or Islamic fundamentalism after entering the country.

 

The measure also states that individuals could face removal if they write, distribute, circulate, print, display, possess or publish materials advocating those ideologies or on behalf of organizations promoting them. Eye Implant That Restores Vision to the Blind Cleared for Sale

 

An eye implant that can help blind people see again is poised to hit the market — in Europe, at least.

 

On Wednesday, the US-based Science Corporation announced that it had received approval from the European Union to treat patients with its vision-restoring bionic eye device, called Prima, in a huge step towards the commercialization of the technology.

 

“We have a cochlear implant for vision now,” CEO Max Hodak told Stat News.

 

Science Corp’s device is designed to treat advanced macular degeneration, a condition in the eye which causes central vision loss. It’s the leading cause of vision loss in older adults, with severe forms of it accounting for nearly 90 percent of legal blindness in the US, according to one estimate.

 

To restore vision, the Prima device uses a wireless chip that’s surgically implanted under the retina. This connects with a pair of camera-equipped glasses, which transmits video in the form of near-infrared light that the chip turns into electrical signals interpreted by the brain.

 

Science Corp first published the results of a preliminary clinical trial in late 2024, showing that patients who used the device were able to recognize faces again, and even read books.

 

“One of our patients in France finished a 300-page novel a little while ago, and sent us the book,” Hodak recently told TechCrunch. “We have a sketch on the wall [that] one of our patients drew of the Sydney Opera House. There are videos of patients playing crossword puzzles and filling in Sudoku.”

 

But Hodak — who cofounded Neuralink with Elon Musk before leaving to start Science Corp — was candid that his tech still has a lot of room for improvement.

 

“This is an early version. It’s kind of like looking through a straw in the centre of their vision,” he told the Financial Times, saying it was “powerful proof” that the company was on the right track.

 

“We see in the future how to get to colour pretty close to native acuity,” he added.

 

Each Prima device is expected to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, but Science Corp says it’s working with healthcare providers to cover some of the cost, per TechCrunch. It’s most likely to first start treating patients in Germany, where it conducted its clinical trials.

 

It’s not the only company making moves in this space. Neuralink is also working on a vision implant called Blindsight, but it hasn’t begun human trials yet.

Hawaii lieutenant governor indicted for bribery — $35,000 in paper bag

 

Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke has been indicted for bribery by a O‘ahu grand jury.

 

Luke’s bail was set at $80,000 Friday after being charged with bribery, conspiracy to commit bribery and falsifying her campaign spending report.

 

Four others were also indicted Friday in connection with the State Attorney General’s investigation into a purported paper bag full of $35,000 paid to an unknown, but “influential,” lawmaker referenced during a 2022 federal bribery investigation.

 

Those others included former State Rep. Ryan Yamane, lobbyist Tobi Solidum, former chair of the state Public Utilities Commission Leodoloff Asuncion Jr., and Ford Fuchigami, airports administrator for the state Department of Transportation.

 

According to the indictment, during Luke’s 2022 campaign for lieutenant governor, Solidum was seeking additional state money for Covid community testing centers. The indictment cites a conversation between Solidum and Ty Cullen — the former Hawai‘i Rep. who, at the time, had turned informant for the FBI — where Solidum was worried that the state DOH would cut funding for Covid testing centers soon.

 

During the conversation, Solidum reportedly told Cullen Luke was running for the lieutenant governor position, adding: “All I gotta do is give her more money.”

 

Solidum, Cullen and Luke all reportedly met on Jan. 20, 2022 at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Ala Moana, where Solidum’s stepdaughter Kristen Pae placed an envelope on the table containing two $5,000 checks, one from Solidum and one from Pae. Luke reportedly took the envelope.

 

Solidum then told Luke, “By next week we’ll have 35, so it will be halfway to our 70.”

 

Later during that meeting, Solidum asked Luke about the possibility of drawing upon federal funds to continue Covid testing, to which Luke agreed to follow up.

 

The two $5,000 checks were subsequently deposited into the Friends of Sylvia Luke bank account, the same day Luke arranged for a meeting to discuss emergency appropriations for additional Covid community testing. In February, Luke’s Finance Committee, which she chaired, passed House Bill 2392, a bill approving more than $170 million in state funds for Covid mitigation measures for the next two fiscal years.

 

The indictment does not specifically mention an exact $35,000 transaction, let alone a paper bag, although the the transaction in Morton’s strongly resembles an event Luke described in February: she admitted accepting two $5,000 checks in a dinner involving Cullen, although she also claimed she never cashed the checks.

 

Asuncion’s presence in the indictment entirely stems from his role as Luke’s campaign treasurer, wherein he allegedly knowingly failed to disclose the donations by Solidum and Pae, and also his subsequent claims in March that the checks had been returned to those donors unspent. Asuncion reportedly claimed that those checks had never been deposited into the Friends of Sylvia Luke bank account, and therefore believed he didn’t need to report them.

 

Despite this, Deputy Attorney General David Van Acker said Friday that he believes Yamane to be the “most culpable” of the five named in the indictment.

 

According to the indictment, Solidum had sent money to Yamane in 2020 and 2021, and later asked about the status of health care measure House Bill 224, which failed to move forward through conference committees that year. Yamane texted Solidum “Sorry couldn’t deliver it.”

 

Solidum and Yamane continued to meet throughout 2021 and 2022, with Solidum repeatedly giving Yamane money. Solidum reportedly “texted Yamane in an effort to get a rival Covid testing company fined,” which Yamane assisted by forwarding Solidum’s claims about said company to the state Department of Health.

 

In early 2022, Yamane, Solidum and Fuchigami met frequently to discuss HB 2392. At one point, the text conversation between Yamane and Solidum turned to the federal charges against Cullen, leading Yamane to text Solidum “Might not be good to been [sic] seen with me.”

 

At the end of the 2022 legislative session, Yamane spoke effusively in support of HB 2392, and specifically named Luke in his thanks for getting the measure passed.

 

Fuchigami, for his part, received a $7,000 check from Solidum in Jan. 2022. Fuchigami, who worked for the Senate Ways and Means Committee at the time, was party to subsequent conversations with Solidum and Yamane regarding HB 2392.

 

Yamane was indicted for bribery and conspiracy to commit bribery; Solidum for three counts of bribery and conspiracy to commit bribery; Fuchigami with use of false statements, conspiracy to commit bribery and obstruction of justice; and Asuncion with falsifying candidate committee reports, use of false statements and obstruction of justice.

“Following the diplomatic statement [by Iran], the pro-Iranian Telegram channel Middle East Spectator published a map asserting that the entirety of Ukraine is within the operational range of Iranian ballistic missiles, specifically referencing the Khorramshahr-4 system. Senator Ron Johnson Weighs in on Reconciliation 3.0, Blasts Democrat’s Obstructionist Tactics- (VIDEO)

Senator Ron Johnson was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to discuss topics including passing a budget.He blasted Democrats for their continued obstructionist tactics.

 

Bartiromo and Johnson also discussed anti-Semitism. They also talked about Dr. Anthony Fauci’s upcoming testimony this week in front of the US Senate regarding his handling of Covid.

 

Senator Johnson replaced the late Senator Lindsey Graham as the new Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee.

 

“You have a lot on your shoulders right now as Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, and I want to get to all of that in just a moment,” Bartiromo said.

 

Senator Johnson explained that Israel’s response to attacks is an expected response. He explained that if one of the neighbors of the US invaded and killed our own citizens, we would respond with a lot of force.

 

The Senator also commented that he is seeing a lot of anti-Semitism.

 

“I’m highly concerned by the way, of the rise of anti-Semitism,” Johnson said.

 

“Let me move onto the business at hand and that is of course, your budget work. The House passed a stop gap funding bill that would extend federal funding throughDecember 4th in an attempt to avoid another government shutdown, which your colleagues on the left are threatening again,” Bartiromo said.

 

“I want to get your take on that as well as your work on reconciliation 3.0,” Bartiromo said.

 

“Where are you coming up with the offsets to what the House advanced, the $95 billion reconciliation 3.0 budget resolution? The passage in the Senate is unclear,” Bartiromo said.

 

“First, let’s recognize the Democrats have been obnoxiously obstructionist since President Trump took office. They refused to nominate or confirm his nominees. We had to end the 60-vote threshold on that just so we can establish his administration. They shut down the government for 42 days. They shut down DHS, refused to fund CBP and ICE,” Johnson continued.

 

“What are you expecting from Anthony Fauci, who will also testify in front of your committee this week?” Bartiromo asked.

 

“I think he’ll be very forgetful, completely unrepentant, arrogant, arrogant to the extreme. Don’t expect to get much out of him,but I am going to try and lay out all of the things that he did that wassuch a miserably failed response to Covid,” Johnson continued.
