We regret to state that escalation in the Persian Gulf is gaining momentum. The conflicting sides continue to exchange strikes, which are doing large-scale damage to the civilian infrastructure of Iran and Arab countries. The risk of shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea has increased. This situation poses additional difficulties for regional mediation efforts aimed at relaunching the process of negotiations on the basis of the June 17 Islamabad Memorandum between the United States and Iran.

In this connection, we urge all sides in the conflict to demonstrate a responsible approach and restraint and to refrain from any actions that could expand the geography of military confrontation and lead to the further deterioration of the military-political situation in the Middle East. A negative scenario is fraught with critical consequences for international energy and food security.

We are firmly committed to the settlement of differences in that strategic part of the world through political and diplomatic means based on respect for the interests of all regional states. Russia is ready to provide the necessary assistance towards this end.

After President Trump earlier this morning in a Truth Social post asserted that the already signed US-Saudi nuclear deal would actually be conditioned on Riyadh joining the Abraham Accords, journalist Laura Rozen quotes an unnamed Saudi source who says Trump’s demand is too late.

"It was signed. So nothing to renegotiate," the Saudi source says. "Tweets don’t overturn signed agreements."

President Trump has suddenly pulled back the reins on the Saudi nuclear deal, which is likely being felt as a major shock in Riyadh, given that the deal was already signed Wednesday by Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.

Trump in a Thursday morning Truth social post declared that the deal will only be finally approved "totally subject to Saudi Arabia joining the very respected and successful Abraham Accords."

Upon Wednesday's signing, there was no mention of the Abraham Accords, also when the Energy Department hailed the deal on X, suggesting it was a 'done deal' and all wrapped up - although the text has not been released, and no definitive outlines have been publicly issued.

Also, the oil-rich kingdom did not mention anything about major stipulations like normalization with Israel, but instead an official statement only indicated that the deal would attempt to "diversify energy sources, advance cutting-edge technologies, and expand opportunities for cooperation and investment in ways that serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries."

The deal has been controversial among US lawmakers, given it opens the potential for a Saudi path to a nuclear bomb, and broader proliferation in the Middle East. But Trump has sought to clamp down on such criticisms, stressing in his new statement there will ⁠be "no ⁠enrichment of ⁠material" under the agreement and that it "pertains only to non-military use."

The pact would allow US companies to build a uranium enrichment facility in Saudi Arabia - but the country's direct ability to enrich automatically opens the pathway to future weaponization.

Saudi Arabia's entry into the Abraham Accords has long been a major Trump administration priority, going back to the launch of the accords in Trump's first term, after which the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and later Sudan and Morocco - formally signed on.

But then the Gaza war happened, and Saudi sentiment soured. Even if the kingdom's ruling monarchy wanted to go ahead and enter normalization with Israel, leaders would have an angry population and powerful clerical class to deal with.

Clearly Trump just threw a big monkey wrench into the whole thing at the 11th hour: "A senior administration official told NBC News on Wednesday that Trump had approved the deal, which was expected to be submitted to Congress for review."

Senate Blocks Iran War Powers Resolution to Restrain Trump After These Four House Republicans Vote with Dems to Advance Measure

The US Senate on Thursday rejected an Iran war powers resolution to restrain President Trump in a 47 to 49 vote.

RINO Senator Susan Collins voted with the Democrats.

Democrat Senator John Fetterman voted with the Republicans.

Senators Rand Paul and Lisa Murkowski did not vote.

The Senate blocked the war powers resolution after the House earlier Thursday voted 214-208 to pass the measure.

Four Republicans voted with the Democrats to pass the measure: Barrett, Fitzpatrick, Davidson, and Massie.

CBS News reported:

The Senate rejected the latest attempt to rein in President Trump’s war powers in Iran on Thursday, soon after the House adopted a separate measure rebuking the president amid escalations in the conflict in recent days.

In a 47 to 49 vote, one Republican — Susan Collins of Maine — joined Democrats in voting to advance the measure. Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was the sole Democrat to oppose. Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Rand Paul of Kentucky, who have previously supported similar war powers efforts, did not vote.

The resolution, led by Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, would direct the president to “remove the United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against Iran, unless explicitly authorized by a declaration of war or a specific authorization for use of military force.”

In late February, Israeli and US forces launched joint military strikes against Iran.

Earlier this month, a ceasefire agreement fell apart after Iran attacked commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and launched attacks against bases in Jordan.

On Wednesday evening, the US Military launched its 12th consecutive night of strikes against Iran.

Not So Fast: Software Company Blamed For Illegal Alien Voter Registration Says State Government Knew

The software vendor Democratic New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill faulted for putting 6,600 noncitizens on the voter rolls says the state had the data to stop it and signed off anyway.

IDEMIA, the French identity technology firm Sherrill blamed this week, pushed back on the governor’s account in a statement to the New York Post. Spokesperson Lisa Shoemaker confirmed Sherrill’s statement that all 6,600 people answered “Yes” to registering and “No” to being a citizen — which should have rendered them ineligible for the voter rolls — but disputed the governor’s claim that a “glitch” allowed them to be registered.

“The 6,600 records submitted to the [Motor Vehicle Commission] and Division of Elections contained correct information according to the design specifications as set out by the state,” she told the Post, adding that the responses were “recorded correctly and always available.”

Shoemaker also told the outlet that “at no point was a noncitizen ever marked as a citizen in the database” and that the company “does not control or manage voter enrollment,” suggesting that the fault lies elsewhere.

Sherrill told reporters Tuesday that a serious software error in the state’s Motor Vehicle System caused the mistake, which she said led to roughly 400 noncitizens casting ballots, according to the New Jersey Monitor. The error ran from June 2023 to June 2024 under her predecessor, Democrat Phil Murphy, and the state found no evidence any election was swayed, the Monitor reported.

A New Jersey official rejected IDEMIA’s version when reached by the Post. “Anytime somebody answers ‘no’ to the citizenship question, that record should not be transmitted to the Division of Elections,” the official said.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon gave the state five business days to hand over the names, birth dates, nationalities and addresses of the 6,600 registrants, plus voting records for the 400 who cast ballots, Fox News reported. Dhillon tied the demand to an existing federal suit over the state’s voter database, according to Fox.

Sherrill’s camp cast the probe as political. “The Trump administration has a long history of weaponizing the Justice Department for political purposes and attempting to overturn election results,” spokesperson Sean Higgins told the Post.

Republican New Jersey Rep. Josh Gottheimer has asked the General Services Administration and the Office of Management and Budget for a government-wide audit of every federal contract tied to IDEMIA, telling GSA’s Edward Forst and OMB’s Russ Vought that the failure raises national concerns, the New Jersey Globe reported.

“The deeper problem is national,” Gottheimer said. White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson pointed to the case as reason to pass the SAVE Act, while state Republicans called for an end to automatic voter registration at DMVs, according to the Monitor.

Few journalists have become as closely linked to the modern UFO debate as Ross Coulthart.

Tropical Storm Bertha made landfall in southern Louisiana on Wednesday and is moving along the northwestern Gulf Coast, where tropical storm warnings remain in effect.

The National Hurricane Center has discontinued warnings for portions of the Louisiana and Mississippi coasts, with the storm expected to dissipate after making a second landfall in Texas Thursday night or early Friday.

But tropical storm conditions will continue spreading across parts of the northern and northwestern Gulf Coast through Thursday, forecasters said.

There may also be isolated flash flooding, with up to 6 inches of rain possible in some areas, as well as coastal flooding.

Bertha is the second named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. The first, Tropical Storm Arthur, brought heavy rain and flash flooding to parts of southern Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi last month.

Dallas Laboratory, Owners, and Investors Pay $24M to Resolve COVID-19 Testing Fraud Allegations

Magnolia Diagnostics, a clinical laboratory based in Dallas, Texas, and its owners, John Bains and Kelly Bains, have agreed to pay the United States $19.2 million to resolve allegations that they violated the False Claims Act by billing Medicare for medically unnecessary respiratory pathogen panel testing performed on seniors receiving COVID-19 tests. Magnolia investors will pay an additional $4.8 million to resolve common law claims for unjust enrichment and payment by mistake and claims under the Federal Debt Collection Procedures Act, arising from distributions they received from Magnolia.

“My office is committed to tackling healthcare fraud through the use of all available tools, both through criminal prosecutions and, as here, civil investigations. To implement this protocol, Magnolia used prepopulated requisition forms that selected RPP testing and associated diagnosis codes before any individualized clinical assessment occurred. Magnolia allegedly treated provider signatures on those forms as blanket or standing orders authorizing RPPs for all seniors across entire communities or chains of communities, and then used those purported authorizations to perform RPPs on specimens collected during community-wide COVID-19 testing.

This week, the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) finally released its long-delayed Fiscal Year 2025 report on unidentified anomalous phenomena, revealing the latest findings from the Office’s growing number of UAP cases.

In our analysis, we’ll be looking at 1) what the latest report reveals about AARO’s growing database of nearly 2,000 UAP reports, 2) why satellite flares continue to account for many recent sightings, 3) the report’s intriguing references to unresolved incidents near sensitive military installations and critical infrastructure, and 4) what AARO’s latest findings suggest about the challenges investigators still face in explaining a small but persistent number of UAP reports.

Pentagon’s AARO Releases Long-Delayed UAP Report

This week, the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) finally released its 2025 annual report on unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAP.

You read that correctly: the long-delayed report for fiscal year (FY) 2025 has been MIA since its expected release date last October, and finally appeared at AARO’s website just three months (or so) ahead of the scheduled release date for its next annual report. Hey, better late than never.

According to AARO’s latest findings, there were no cases it resolved that point to advanced foreign technology or extraordinary capabilities exhibited by UAP, but close to 200 reports from its latest batch remain unexplained due to insufficient data.

AARO also reiterated two conclusions that have remained consistent across previous reports: investigators have found no evidence that the U.S. government or any private organization has recovered or exploited materials derived from UAP, and the office has received no verified reports of adverse health effects directly associated with UAP encounters.

Beyond that, here’s a look at some of the report’s primary findings.

Key Findings in AARO’s 2025 Report

Offering an overview of the office’s investigations of cases collected between June 2, 2024, and May 30, 2025, the new report conveys that AARO received 319 new UAP cases during the reporting period, bringing its total case holdings to 1,870 since the office’s creation.

274 incidents occurred in the air domain, while 44 involved objects observed in space, and one occurred in the maritime domain. “The single maritime domain UAP case AARO received involved a report from U.S. Navy assets operating off the coast of Virginia,” AARO’s report states.

“The report described approximately 100 airborne UAP and two, likely uncrewed, surface systems. AARO is actively investigating this event in coordination with the reporting unit.”

The brief description of this single maritime incident AARO received is intriguing, although very little context is provided, and it is unclear whether it may be describing UAVs and uncrewed launch platforms observed at sea, which might be attributable to a U.S. foreign adversary.

A Whole Lotta Satellites

As for those “objects observed in space,” AARO’s report makes it clear that none of the space-domain cases originated from space-based sensors, but instead mostly came from civilian pilots reporting through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The other two originated from U.S. Space Command ground-based sensors.

“AARO applied all-source analysis techniques and three-dimensional modeling to render a high confidence assessment for each of these cases as being attributable to satellite flaring,” the report reads.

The fact that satellite flaring has significantly contributed to recent alleged UAP sightings is nothing new. In 2022, following a series of sightings by pilots involving what were characterized as “racetrack UAPs,” it was determined that the sightings resulted from an optical illusion created by SpaceX Starlink satellites.

While 114 of the 319 new cases AARO has received have been resolved, it says that 191 cases have been placed into AARO’s “active archive,” which involves reports that presently lack sufficient data required to make an assessment.

“UAP cases held in active archive inform AARO’s locational and trend analyses and remain open to future resolution should further information or improved analytical techniques enable a more conclusive resolution,” the report states.

Additionally, there were nine cases referred to members of the Intelligence Community and AARO’s science and technology partners for further technical analysis.

Trends in the Data

The report also identifies several trends among the incoming reports.

In terms of appearance, spherical shapes remain the winning category, comprising close to 40 percent of reported UAP morphologies, with lights representing around 33 percent. Around 25 percent of sightings lacked enough information to give any clear indication of shape at all.

In terms of altitude, most airborne sightings occurred between 10,000 and 35,000 feet, while reports above 45,000 feet declined significantly from the previous reporting period; notably, AARO attributes this to its progress in identifying satellite flares.

Fortunately, no flight safety-related incidents were reported for the period discussed in the FY 2025 report, although there were two cases that “contained descriptions of electronic or avionic interference reported as attributable to UAP in proximity to an operational aircraft.”

AARO says it remains unclear whether those effects were directly related to the observed UAP.

UAP Near Critical Infrastructure?

Perhaps one of the most significant elements of the new report is that there were reportedly several new cases logged near sensitive military installations and critical infrastructure.

“Some narrative reports were suggestive of phenomena whose performance characteristics exceed the known state-of-the-art within a given domain,” the report states, though adding that “No technical data accompanied these reports.”

“If validated, the attendant phenomena underlying these reports may represent a currently unmitigated threat vector,” the report states. “Part of AARO’s mission is to provide data and analysis that helps mitigate potential UAP-related national security threats or operational hazards.”

The report additionally documents a significant increase in reports involving unmanned aerial systems operating near U.S. nuclear infrastructure, with 50 incidents referred to AARO by the National Nuclear Security Administration and Nuclear Regulatory Commission—a 178 percent increase over the previous year’s total.

It is clearly stated that none of these objects were genuine UAP or exhibited anything unusual.

“The reports contained descriptions of UAS morphologies ranging from small hobbyist-sized UAS to larger multi-rotor models. Quadcopters were the most reported morphology,” AARO’s report states.

As with past AARO annual reports, the FY 2025 updates leaves much to the imagination—a fact that is very in keeping with recent UAP imagery and documentation released by the Pentagon through its PURSUE initiative.

Still, the report’s findings—vague as they are—do indicate one fundamental issue: objects or phenomena that remain difficult to attribute to any known sources continue to be tracked by U.S. defense personnel.

With nearly 2,000 reports in its current collection, AARO concedes that while it has found no evidence of links to any extraordinary phenomena, there are also still a good number of cases that remain unresolved, and which warrant further attention.

Perhaps that’s the real takeaway—not that AARO has found evidence of anything extraordinary, but that some reports do continue to defy straightforward explanation.

SEC. 219. UNITED STATES-ISRAEL DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY COOPERATION

INITIATIVE.

(a) Establishment.–The Secretary of Defense shall designate an

executive agent, as such term is defined in Department of Defense

Directive 5101.01 (relating to DoD Executive Agent, issued February 7,

2022), responsible for synchronizing cooperative efforts between the

United States and Israel, to expand and accelerate bilateral defense

technology research, development, testing, evaluation, integration, and

industrial cooperation, by–

(1) identifying jointly developed or Israeli-origin

technologies with operational utility for potential integration

into United States systems and programs of record;

(2) ensuring collaborative research initiatives involving

government, private sector, and academic institutions in the

United States and Israel, is done in a manner that protects

sensitive technology and information and the national security

interests of the United States and Israel;

(3) facilitating the transition of technologies from

research and development into procurement and acquisition

pathways;

(4) establishing frameworks for joint ventures, licensing

agreements, and United States-based co-production or

manufacturing partnerships with Israeli industry;

(5) coordinating with relevant Department of Defense

components, including the Irregular Warfare Technical Support

Directorate, capability development and innovation divisions,

the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering,

the Defense Innovation Unit, the United States-Israel

Operations Technology Working Group, the Defense Advanced

Research Projects Agency, the Missile Defense Agency, the

United States Space Command, the military departments, and

other Department of Defense entities, as appropriate, to align

efforts and avoid duplication; and

(6) promoting joint training exercises and information-

sharing mechanisms to enhance operational readiness to deploy

jointly developed technologies.

(b) Cooperative Efforts.–The synchronized cooperative efforts

under subsection (a) may be carried out through the following domains:

(1) Counter-Unmanned Systems including aerial, maritime,

and ground platforms.

(2) Anti-tunneling and subterranean threats.

(3) Missile and air defense technologies.

(4) Artificial intelligence, quantum, machine learning, and

autonomous systems.

(5) Directed energy and advanced sensing.

(6) Cyber defense, electronic warfare, and digital

resilience.

(7) Biotechnology, biomanufacturing, and medical defense.

(8) Network integration, data fusion, and contested

logistics.

(c) Activities in Coordination With Other Federal Departments and

Agencies.–The Secretary of Defense shall coordinate activities, as

appropriate, with the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Commerce,

and the heads of other relevant Federal departments and agencies, to

ensure consistency with existing laws and regulations.

(d) Interim Progress Update.–Not later than 180 days after the

date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall provide

to the congressional defense committees an interim briefing on–

(1) the executive agent designated pursuant to subsection

(a) and the efforts undertaken by such executive agent to lead

Department of Defense implementation of the synchronized

cooperative efforts described in such subsection;

(2) the status of coordination, Department-wide, with

Israeli counterparts;

(3) initial technology areas identified for accelerated

cooperation and technologies with operational utility for

integration into United States systems and programs of record;

and

(4) any early transition, prototyping, or integration

activities initiated during the period covered by the update.

(e) Annual Report.–Not later than 1 year after the date of

enactment of this Act, and annually thereafter until 2030, the

Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense

committees a report on implementation of the cooperative efforts

described in subsection (a). Each such report shall include–

(1) a description of activities conducted;

(2) an assessment of progress made in advancing shared

national security interests;

(3) an assessment of collaboration with other relevant

Federal programs;

(4) a description of technologies transitioned into United

States acquisition programs or fielded systems;

(5) a description of partnerships established with United

States and Israeli industry; and

(6) recommendations for future opportunities to promote the

long-term integration of joint capabilities between the United

States and Israel.

(f) Form.–Each report required under subsection (e) shall be

submitted in unclassified form and may include a classified annex.

(g) Public Transparency.–The Secretary of Defense shall make

available on a publicly accessible website of the Department of Defense

periodic, unclassified updates, to the maximum extent practicable, on

the synchronized cooperative efforts carried out under subsection (a),

including a description of how these efforts contribute to United

States technological and military supremacy. Such updates shall be made

in a manner that ensures that classified information or other

information that would compromise operational security, export

controls, or sensitive technology are not released.
