You might remember that both the U.S and Russia spoke of strategic partnerships surrounding the energy sector.Obviously, this makes sense when we consider the โ€œwestโ€ is actually fractured on the topic of energy. I cannot explain this to people who are infected with TDS, but the essential summary of what was likely to happen was written 3 weeks ago โ€“ SEE HERE. President Trump is purchasing Russian diesel directly from the wholesaler, Vladimir Putin. The purchase is from now until April 1st, 2027.Trump is buying diesel at a discount, not market prices.

On one side you have the โ€œclimate changeโ€ team, those who are fully invested (literally) in the financial mechanisms of the climate change, green new deal, build back better talking points. The Green Energy team in the west. The Paris Climate Treaty and carbon-trading proponents et al.

 

On the other side you have the pragmatic energy team in the west. These are the Trump-minded and aligned western perspectives that look at oil, natural gas (LNG), clean coal and nuclear technology. These are the โ€œall the aboveโ€ aligned voices in the more pragmatic view of low-cost energy production and development.

 

In the middle, between both sides of the fracture, are the banking and finance systems. This is the BIG MONEY play, with the Climate Change team supported by banking ideology inside the city of London, while the Carbon Use team is constantly having to assemble finance and insurance from outside the banking control mechanisms.

 

The Climate Change team have support based on ideology within the finance system. (VIA CNBC) โ€“ President Donald Trump said Friday that Russia will supply more than 4 million tons of diesel to the global market under a deal he struck with President Vladimir Putin during a phone call.

 

Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel, followed by 500,000 tons in November, and 1 million tons immediately thereafter, Trump said in a post on Truth Social. Moscow will then deliver another 3 million tons of diesel based on the condition of Russiaโ€™s refineries, Trump said.

 

The Treasury Department temporarily waived sanctions on Russian diesel through April 2027 under a general license issued Friday.

 

Diesel prices have surged around the world as Ukraine has pounded Russian refineries, forcing Moscow to ban diesel exports to the global market. Iran and its Houthi allies have also attacked refineries in the Middle East, further constraining fuel supplies.

 

Trump is under growing political pressure to take action to reduce fuel prices ahead of the November midterm elections. Republicans are facing competitive elections in conservative strongholds like Iowa where farmers are feeling the pinch from high diesel prices.

 

But the president has few options to reduce prices given the destruction done to global refining capacity by the wars in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

 

Trump flirted with a diesel export ban last month but ultimately relented after the oil industry andbig business warned a ban would just raise gasoline prices.

 

The president issued an executive order earlier this week that allows truckers to use tax-exempt offroad diesel on highways without worrying about federal penalties. But the order only defers the tax obligation, creating confusion about whether truckers may have to pay up at some point. (read more)

This is why Secretary Bessent essentially said yesterday, he was โ€œevaluatingโ€ calls for a U.S. export ban on diesel. Bessent knows it makes no sense to halt U.S. exports of diesel fuel, because (a) the US has no ability to store it, and (b) if we produce more than we can store, that doesnโ€™t lower the USA price.

 

Our US diesel supply doesnโ€™t lower the US diesel price because the price is set by market traders, by the western financial markets, not by production or supply.There is a disconnect. Itโ€™s the same reason why Oranges grown in Florida cost the same as Oranges shipped into Minnesota.Local supply does not determine local price; the rigged commodity market does.

Presidential Message on Leif Erikson Day

 

Half a millennium before legendary American hero Christopher Columbus set foot in the New World, Norse explorer Leif Erikson made history as the first European to arrive on the North American continent. This Leif Erikson Day, we celebrate his exceptional legacy of bravery, daring, and exploration as we build upon our extraordinary relationships with our Nordic partners and open a glorious new chapter in Americaโ€™s Arctic story.

 

Born in 970, Leif Erikson developed a love for exploration and adventure that he would carry through his entire life, a calling that would change the world for centuries to come. His steadfast Christian faith gave him the conviction to sail into the unknown, voyaging over 1,800 miles across the Atlantic with a small crew of 35 men and overcoming raging winds, crashing waves, and crippling storms to reach the shores of Lโ€™Anse aux Meadows in northern Newfoundland, Canadaโ€”the land he named โ€œVinland.โ€ In doing so, he opened the door between two worlds and proved that no ocean could hold back the course of discoveryโ€”the same daring spirit that would one day build the greatest Nation on Earth.

 

A millennium later, that resolve lives on in Americaโ€™s outstanding relationships with Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Swedenโ€”nations bound to us by adventure, fortitude, and faith in Almighty God. Nowhere is that bond stronger today than in Greenland, where Lief Erikson once led a settlement of his own and where my Administration has now secured Greenlandโ€™s future as a bastion for U.S. security and transatlantic defense.

 

Last month, I entered into a historic agreement with Denmark and Greenland that gives the United States permanent control over security in Greenland, guaranteeing our ability to safeguard America and our allies for all time. In concluding this agreement, I did what no President in the last 100 years was willing to doโ€”I permanently recognized Greenland as an essential national security partner and made the Arctic a pillar of American strength once again. For centuries to come, Americans will be safer, our Arctic frontier will be stronger, and our bond with the Nordic peoples will be closer than ever before.

 

As we reflect on the enduring legacy of Leif Erikson, we recognize his rightful place in our glorious American story, we honor the millions of Nordic Americans whose contributions have shaped the life of our Nation, and we commit to carrying the spirit of his marvelous discovery boldly into Americaโ€™s next chapter of exploration, friendship, and greatness.

Charles James Kirk (October 14, 1993 โ€“ September 10, 2025) was an American right-wing political activist, author, and media personality. โ€ข Diesel prices have surged around the world as Ukraine has pounded Russian refineries, forcing Moscow to ban diesel exports.

 

โ€ข Trump is under growing political pressure to take action to reduce fuel prices ahead of the November midterm elections.

 

President Donald Trump said Friday that Russia will supply more than 4 million tons of diesel to the global market under a deal he struck with President Vladimir Putin during a phone call.

 

Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel, followed by 500,000 tons in November, and 1 million tons immediately thereafter, Trump said in a post on Truth Social. Moscow will then deliver another 3 million tons of diesel based on the condition of Russiaโ€™s refineries, Trump said.

 

The Treasury Department temporarily waived sanctions on Russian diesel through April 2027 under a general license issued Friday.

 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy immediately condemned Trumpโ€™s diesel deal with Putin. Zelenskyy warned that easing sanctions without a commitment from Russia to de-escalate will only prolong the war. (Everything Z does is to prevent the end of the war, even him dragging his citizens into the war to die for nothing. Z should be hanged when this is over, for killing millions of his citizens intentionally)

 

โ€œGifts to Putin will not bring peace or any benefit to the civilized world,โ€ Zelenskyy said in a social media post. โ€œRussia will โ€˜repayโ€™ the diesel with further terror and perfidy. Allowing Russia to sell petroleum products is an investment in a war that must be ended, not prolonged.โ€

 

Diesel prices have surged around the world as Ukraine has pounded Russian refineries, forcing Moscow to ban diesel exports to the global market. Iran and its Houthi allies have also attacked refineries in the Middle East, further constraining fuel supplies.

 

Trump is under growing political pressure to take action to reduce fuel prices ahead of the November midterm elections. Republicans are facing competitive elections in conservative strongholds like Iowa, where farmers are feeling the pinch from high diesel prices.

 

But the president has few options to reduce prices given the destruction done to global refining capacity by the wars in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Trump flirted with a diesel export ban last month but ultimately relented after the oil industry and big business warned a ban would just raise gasoline prices.

 

The president issued an executive order earlier this week that allows truckers to use tax-exempt offroad diesel on highways without worrying about federal penalties. But the order only defers the tax obligation, creating confusion about whether truckers may have to pay up at some point.

Birthday wishes and hockey diplomacy

Zelensky described the move as โ€œdefinitely unfair,โ€ โ€œdefinitely not partner-likeโ€ and โ€œa weak decision by strong partners,โ€ effectively portraying it as a stab in the back just as Ukrainian negotiatorsand Kievโ€™s European backers were meeting American officials to discuss a potential peace settlement in Miami.

 

In a voice memo sent to Western journalists on Friday, Zelensky suggested Trump had used Ukrainian negotiators as a โ€œsmokescreenโ€ while pursuing a separate agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

 

โ€œYou know, it looks like a happy birthday present for Putin. It looks absolutely terrible,โ€he told Axios in a separate phone interview, referring to the Russian leaderโ€™s 74th birthday earlier this week.

 

โ€œWe need oil for the world and this is diesel, which is what we need. So weโ€™re very happy to get it,โ€ the US president said.

 

Earlier on Friday, Trump announced that following a โ€œsuccessful discussionโ€ with Putin, Moscow had agreed to immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to American and global markets, followed by 500,000 tons in November, another million tons shortly thereafter, and potentially 3 million additional tons depending on refinery capacity.

 

The US Treasury subsequently issued a six-month sanctions waiver allowing Russian diesel exports, as Washington seeks to contain a global fuel shortage exacerbated by the US-Israeli war on Iran and Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries.

 

Trump has repeatedly blamed Kiev โ€“ and Zelensky personally โ€“ for worsening the global fuel crisis, accusing Ukraine of deliberately knocking out Russian refining capacity and driving up prices for American consumers.

 

During a visit to Ireland last month, Trump directly demanded that Zelensky halt the strikes. โ€œZelensky has to do one thing. He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russiaโ€ฆ Donโ€™t hit diesel fuel, because thatโ€™s hurting the world,โ€ he said.

 

Trump doubled down earlier this week, arguing that the main driver of soaring US fuel prices was no longer the disruption of oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, but Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has similarly linked the strikes to a broader global โ€œenergy shock.โ€

 

Despite Washingtonโ€™s repeated warnings, Zelensky pledged last weekend to intensify Ukrainian long-range strikes on Russian oil facilities. A senior Ukrainian official told the Financial Times on Friday that Kiev would ignore Washingtonโ€™s deal with Moscow and โ€œwill burn their refineries.โ€

 

The fuel shortage has become an increasingly pressing domestic issue for Trump ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. US diesel prices surged to record highs above $6.50 per gallon in September, with prices in California exceeding $8 in some areas.

US President Donald Trumpโ€™s top envoys have begun two days of negotiations with Ukrainian and European representatives in Miami, focusing on preparations for the coming winter and potential ways to de-escalate the Ukraine conflict on terms that would be acceptable to Moscow.

 

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff described Fridayโ€™s discussions as โ€œconstructive,โ€ saying US representatives had discussed prospects for a โ€œlasting peaceโ€ with Kiev and its most hawkish European backers, including Britain, France and Germany, as well as officials from the European Commission and NATO.

 

The talks covered โ€œnear-term measures related to winter preparedness,โ€ including energy resilience and grain exports, as well as longer-term security guarantees, post-war reconstruction and Ukraineโ€™s potential accession to the EU, according to Witkoff.

 

โ€œThe exchange was productive and helped identify areas for further exploration ahead of the United Statesโ€™ next engagement with Russia,โ€ he wrote on X.

 

The negotiations were scheduled to continue on Saturday, and no concrete agreements or breakthroughs have been announced so far.

 

The US delegation is led by Witkoff and Trumpโ€™s son-in-law Jared Kushner, while Kiev is represented by Vladimir Zelenskyโ€™s chief of staff, Kirill Budanov, foreign intelligence chief Rustem Umerov, deputy chief of staff Sergey Kislitsa and senior lawmaker David Arakhamia.

 

The European delegation includes Bjoern Seibert, chief of staff to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and national security advisers from Britain, France and Germany. NATO is represented by Geoffrey van Leeuwen, chief of staff to Secretary General Mark Rutte, according to European media reports.

 

The talks follow reports that Witkoff and Kushner were preparing to present โ€œnew ideas and proposalsโ€ aimed at breaking the diplomatic deadlock.

According to Axios, the pair could travel to Moscow later this month for further talks with Putin.

 

One proposal under consideration reportedly involves a partial ceasefire covering strikes on energy infrastructure, amid growing anxiety among Kievโ€™s European backers over the economic and energy consequences of the conflict.

 

โ€œThey are all nervous about the winter. It will be a tough winter if the war does not stop,โ€ a US source previously told AFP.

 

The Miami meeting also coincided with a 90-minute phone conversation between Trump and Putin on Friday, during which the leaders discussed Ukraine, Iran and a major agreement to resume Russian diesel supplies to American and global markets.

 

Zelensky lashed out at Trump, effectively accusing Washington of stabbing Kiev in the back by striking a separate diesel deal with Moscow.

 

Zelensky branded the move โ€œa weak decision by strong partnersโ€ and accused the US of using the Ukrainian delegation in Miami as a โ€œsmokescreenโ€ while negotiating with Putin behind Kievโ€™s back.

 

Trump has repeatedly pressed Zelensky to halt Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, blaming them for worsening a global diesel shortage and driving up fuel prices for American consumers. According to Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov, Trump promised Putin that he would convey Moscowโ€™s position to the Ukrainian delegation in Miami.
