CONFIRMED: Comey Approved FISA Warrant Without Any Knowledge of Trump-Russia ‘Collusion’

 

Fired former FBI director James Comey approved the series of FISA warrants to surveil President Donald Trump’s team without having any knowledge whatsoever that Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia.

 

With no evidence of any Russian collusion, and with the Operation Crossfire Hurricane conspiracy falling apart, it is now important to look at James Comey’s own admissions in his behind-closed-doors testimony with House Republicans including from the Oversight Committee. The aggression with which the Freedom Caucus Republicans went after Comey clearly stunned the disgraced ex-director and his Democrat supporters including Elijah Cummings.

 

Comey said in his testimony that in July 2016, when all of this started, the FBI “didn’t know whether we had anything.”

 

Comey reportedly offered his first sign-off on a FISA warrant in October 2016, and those FISA’s kept getting renewed for a while until good faith actors in the Trump administration realized the extent of what was going on.

 

Comey also said: “in fact, when I was fired as director, I still didn’t know whether there was anything to it.”

Saudi Arabia re-arrests billionaire prince Al-Waleed's brother days after father's death (Prince Khalid bin Talal)

 

Saudi authorities have reportedly re-arrested the brother of billionaire Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal just days after their father died.

London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported on Wednesday that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the arrest of Khalid bin Talal.

 

"The arrest took place on Tuesday night and until Wednesday evening Khaled was not released despite some promises," the report said.

 

Prince Khalid was freed in November after being detained for 11 months for criticising a crackdown on the kingdom's elite that saw dozens of princes, officials and tycoons imprisoned at Riyadh's Ritz-Carlton hotel.

 

Prince Khalid's brother Al-Waleed, dubbed the Warren Buffett of Saudi Arabia, was among those rounded up and was released in early January after an undisclosed financial agreement with the government.

 

The development comes days after their father Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz, a half-brother of King Salman, died.

 

Defiantly liberal and dubbed the "Red Prince", Talal bin Abdul Aziz was known as a tireless advocate of reform, sometimes in defiance of the royal family.

 

He was a long-standing advocate of allowing Saudi women to drive, a right that was finally granted to female citizens this year.

New York man charged in kidnapping of kids for Jewish sect

 

A New York man has been charged in the kidnapping of two children whose mother recently fled an ultra-Orthodox Jewish sect in Guatemala.

 

The FBI arrested Aron Rosner of Brooklyn this week on charges accusing him of providing financial help to members of the religious group Lev Tahor in an international abduction scheme.

 

Rosner’s defence lawyer did not respond to an email seeking comment Thursday.

 

The FBI said in court filings that the children – 14-year-old Yante Teller and her 12-year-old brother Chaim Teller – were kidnapped on December 8 from their home in upstate New York and taken out of the country.

 

Surveillance footage shows the children walking out of the residence before 3am and entering a vehicle.

China allows first-ever imports of US rice ahead of trade talks

The world’s largest rice market, China, finally opened for US imports, its national customs body announced on Thursday. The move comes as the world’s two largest economies are set to hold negotiations amid the trade war ceasefire.

Chinese customs said the American rice was cleared for import after going through the required food safety check. The amount of rice Beijing is going to receive from the US was not immediately clear, while China already imports the cereal mostly from Asian countries, including its top exporters Vietnam and Thailand, to fulfill its growing demand.

The move comes after more than decade-long talks on the matter. The two nations inked a deal for US milled rice in 2017. In April, nearly 30 American facilities completed China’s food safety questionnaires and were waiting for a Chinese inspection visit, according to the USA Rice Federation.

“We believe access for US rice can and should be part of the solution in trade talks between China and the United States,” USA Rice COO Bob Cummings said in April.

Despite not ever being allowed, US rice imports to China were targeted with 25 percent additional levies at the height of the trade row, when the Trump administration levied an additional 25 percent import duty on $34 billion worth of Chinese goods.

Opening the market for American rice imports is believed to be another goodwill gesture from Beijing after Chinese and American leaders agreed on a 90-day truce. The US delegation, including some high profile officials, is to head to Beijing in January to hold a new round of talks, according to Bloomberg. Earlier this month, China confirmed that negotiations are to take place in January, but did not elaborate on the exact date.

Since the trade war was paused, Beijing has already bought more than 1.5 million tons of soybeans, resumed buying liquefied gas (LNG) and announced a temporary suspension of additional tariffs on US-produced vehicles and auto parts.

BEIJING (Reuters) - China has opened the door to imports of rice from the United States for the first time ever in what analysts took to signal a warming of relations between the world’s two biggest economies after a frosty year marked by tensions and tit-for-tat tariffs.

The green light from Chinese customs, indicated in a statement posted on the customs authority’s website on Friday, comes in the run-up to talks between the countries in January after U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed a moratorium on higher tariffs that would affect trade worth hundred of billions of dollars.

It wasn’t immediately clear how much rice China, which sources rice imports from within Asia, might seek to buy from the United States. But the move, which comes after years of talks on the matter, follows pledges from China’s commerce ministry of further U.S. trade openings earlier this week.

As of Dec. 27, imports of brown rice, polished rice and crushed rice from the United States are now permitted, as long as cargoes meet China’s inspection standards and are registered with the United States Department of Agriculture.

“The permission for U.S. rice suggests an improving U.S. and China relationship,” said Cherry Zhang, an agriculture analyst with consultancy JCI. Zhang said she expected any imports would likely be ordered by state-owned companies.

Officials at a government-affiliated think-tank in Beijing said the price of U.S. rice is not competitive, compared with imports from South Asia, and said the move to formally permit import should be interpreted as a goodwill gesture.

Focus has been on ferreting out DS actors in the DOJ/FBI and little focus has been on doing the same in the judiciary (Look HERE, not there). But certainly the plan includes discovering and pulling the teeth out of judges who are bad actors.

 

Certainly there are cases that have revealed DS judges in the 9th circuit (expect the 9th to be split & the bad actors isolated, at a minimum) as bad actors. El Paso may face "crisis" housing migrants due to Sun Bowl, incoming congresswoman warns

 

The incoming congresswoman of the Texas border city of El Paso is warning of an imminent "crisis" as local officials and charities scramble to accommodate at least 1,600 migrants dropped off there by federal authorities in recent days.

Representative-elect Veronica Escobar, a Democrat, told CBS News, "We have these teams coming in to play in our Sun Bowl this weekend and the hotels are booked," referring to the college football game El Paso has hosted since 1935. "We're facing a real crisis coming up … to find places for all of these (migrant) families."

Escobar said migrants who can't be housed in shelters have been staying in hotel rooms paid by Annunciation House, the non-profit spearheading the efforts to house and feed them. But, she said, if U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continues releasing large numbers of migrants, the El Paso community will struggle to find places for them because many hotels have been booked by people attending Monday's game.

Escobar added it's already been "very, very difficult and very challenging" to put up the migrants dropped off by ICE. And, she said, the coming hotel crunch will only make the task tougher.

Katie Waldman, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), said the situation in El Paso stems from decisions by "activist judges."

Oracle (ORCL) Executive Chairman Larry Ellison and Kathleen Wilson-Thompson, an executive at Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), have joined the board of directors at Tesla (TSLA), which comes as part of a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Tesla announced Friday.

 

Each joined the board as an independent director. Wilson-Thompson is the global head of human resources Walgreens Boots. Prior to that, she spent 17 years at Kellogg (K).

President Trump is being encouraged to sign an executive order on E-Verify after immigration police said that arrests of illegal immigrant workers and employers surged 700 percent.

 

Led by advocates of tighter immigration laws, Trump is getting advice to nationalize the E-Verify system that the federal government uses to make sure that contractors are hiring employees that are legally allowed to work in the United States.

 

“There are many changes that could be made to the immigration laws that would enable the United States to gain control over its illegal population,” said Andrew R. Arthur, a former immigration judge.

 

“Of all of the proposals, however, E-Verify would be the most effective at curbing illegal entries and limiting nonimmigrant overstays. And the president could likely make it mandatory through executive action,” added Arthur, now a legal expert with the Center for Immigration Studies.

 

The push for the simple employment verification system, currently a voluntary opt-in for non-government contractors, comes after Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed stunning new statistics of workplace enforcement probes.

 

The agency and Homeland Security Investigations, which had promised to step up investigations, announced a 300 percent surge in probes. They “opened” 6,848 worksite investigations in fiscal 2018 versus 1,691 the year before. Audits jumped to 5,981 from 1,360.

 

Worksite arrests surged even more. The authorities made 779 criminal and 1,525 administrative worksite-related arrests compared to 139 and 172, said ICE in this Washington Examiner report by Anna Giaritelli.

 

In a legal analysis of E-Verify, Arthur wrote Friday that with a 60-day notice, Trump could institute the employment verification system.

 

He added that it has a side benefit: those who illegally enter the United States to work, and who are denied a job, often return home on their own.

 

And, Arthur added, E-Verify has a strong presidential record of bipartisan support and action. He wrote:

 

"E-Verify was so improved that its use was mandated by DHS for use by federal government contractors. President Bill Clinton had previously issued Executive Order 12989, which rendered contractors or organizational units of contractors that were not in compliance with the INA employment provisions subject to debarment, meaning that they would be ineligible for government contracts, for at least one year, subject to extension if the attorney general so determined, under the employer-sanctions compliance provisions in section 274A(e) of the INA.

 

President George W. Bush later issued Executive Order 13465, which amended Executive Order 12989. As the E-Verify website explains, that executive order directed "all federal departments and agencies to require contractors to utilize an electronic employment eligibility verification system" in order "to verify the employment eligibility of employees performing work under a covered federal contract." DHS thereafter "designated E-Verify as the electronic employment eligibility verification system that all federal contractors must use as required by the amended Executive Order 12989."

 

So, it appears that the path is clear for the president to make E-Verify mandatory. All that it requires is the will, and 60 days' notice before implementation."

Let me try to explain how shorting markets work.

 

When you short you are betting that whatever vehicle you are short in will go down.

The system is supposed to issue you shares that are for that purpose by 'borrowing' shares that are long. A strategy that longs used to use was calling the broker and telling them the shares they own should not be used for any short activity. Look up Naked Shorting…Patrick Bryne has some good stuff from years ago trying to fight this. He was pummeled by the system for speaking up.

Anyway when you are short and want to get out for whatever reason, profit or it moves against you, you do a short cover.

 

This is the system buying the shares that it supposedly gave you when you went short.

It adds additional buying pressure upwards when you least can afford it. You are now competing with the longs who have identified a momo opportunity and are going long.

If you get stuck in a short position that squeeze's it can wipe you out quickly.

 

The term 'short squeeze' is applicable to this as you are now, as a short who is covering, basically in a long position to cover those shorted shares.
