Today, I am formally announcing my Administration’s plan to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including its Qods Force, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. This unprecedented step, led by the Department of State, recognizes the reality that Iran is not only a State Sponsor of Terrorism, but that the IRGC actively participates in, finances, and promotes terrorism as a tool of statecraft. The IRGC is the Iranian government’s primary means of directing and implementing its global terrorist campaign.

This designation will be the first time that the United States has ever named a part of another government as a FTO. It underscores the fact that Iran’s actions are fundamentally different from those of other governments. This action will significantly expand the scope and scale of our maximum pressure on the Iranian regime. It makes crystal clear the risks of conducting business with, or providing support to, the IRGC. If you are doing business with the IRGC, you will be bankrolling terrorism.

This action sends a clear message to Tehran that its support for terrorism has serious consequences. We will continue to increase financial pressure and raise the costs on the Iranian regime for its support of terrorist activity until it abandons its malign and outlaw behavior.

CNN has been on the defense recently because the network has been plagued by errors in its reporting on the Russia investigation.

Thursday on CNN’s “Cuomo Primetime,” Rep. Sean Duffy, a Republican member of the House Intelligence Committee, debated host Chris Cuomo about the network’s coverage of the Mueller investigation. “You’re the reporters,” Duffy told Cuomo. “And as reporters, you have a job to make sure you’re putting out the right facts. Iran Designates US Military As Terrorist Organization

Just hours after President Trump formally designated Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organization, Iran's foreign ministry has put forward a bill placing US Central Command on a list of organizations designated as terrorists, akin to Daesh.

But, as Sputnik News reports, the Iranian Foreign Ministry responded to the designation on Monday, recommending that President Hassan Rouhani designate US Central Command (US CENTCOM), a US military theatre-level command whose area of responsibility includes the Middle East, on the list of organisations designated as terrorists by Iran.

Previously, the Iranian Foreign Minister noted that those US officials who advocated IRGC blacklisting, "seek to drag the US into a quagmire".

"#NetanyahuFirsters who have long agitated for FTO (Foreign Terrorist Organisation) of the IRGC fully understand its consequences for US forces in the region. In fact, they seek to drag the US into a quagmire on his behalf," Mohammed Javad Zarif said on his Twitter account. "@realDonaldTrump should know better than to be conned into another US disaster."

Iranian officials previously warned that the IRGC's inclusion on the US terror list would be a "mistake" which would prompt Tehran to equate the US military with Daesh (ISIS). Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said a bill to this effect had already been prepared.

then you can do the converions and encoding, and even make mp4s out gifs and audio files.

but to do a png to jpg it is as simple as

convert somefilename.png someothername.jpg

I do that as well to make sure that no exiv data is left in a file too.

there are all kinds of command line options to use in that too, you can change the resolutions and sizes of the files as well.

Belgians Charge CEO Recruiting ‘Sugar Babies’ with ‘Incitement to Debauchery’

A Norwegian CEO who ran poster campaigns trying to recruit young women to become “sugar babies” to older men outside university campuses has been charged with “public incitement to debauchery” in Belgium.

Sigurd Vedal, 47, began his ‘Rich Meet Beautiful’ website in Scandinavia, launching a recruitment drive to expand the business in Belgium in 2018 with a promise to provide young when with a “Fifty Shades of Grey” experience, according to the Guardian.

Vedal placed billboards recruiting for the website near university campuses, causing the Université Libre de Bruxelles to complain.

“We presumed the existence of a sexual counterpart to the registration on this site,” a spokesman for the institution told the newspaper.

“The message is: ‘you’re young, you’re beautiful, go out with a sugar daddy!’ Everyone understands what it’s about,” they added.

In response, the Belgian authorities are now charging the CEO with violating anti-sexism laws, debauchery, and public incitement to debauchery.

Vedal’s lawyer Eric Cusas said Rich Meet Beautiful was not about sex, describing it as “a specialised site aimed at bringing certain people together with a nice physique and others who are well-off” and insisting that any perceived sexual element was “only in the eye of the observer”.

Some of the posters show a woman lying prone in her bra with her eyes closed and her mouth open, with a shirtless man bearing down on top of her from behind.

Vedal has also run poster campaigns in the United Kingdom, targeting universities including the City of London Law School, London School of Economics (LSE), and Kings College London in an attempt to recruit 100,000 users.

“It’s disgusting. It should be illegal for these perverts to pray on youngsters like this,” a student at one of the universities told MailOnline.

“University is expensive, we all know that, and I’m in a massive amount of debt.

“But me and my friends would never turn to prostitution in order to reduce that, and these sorts of websites are tantamount to that — it’s exploitative and wrong,” she said.

The United States National Security Agency (NSA) this week released its in-house reverse engineering tool Ghidra to the public, for free.

Initially announced in January, the release was accompanied by a demonstration of the tool at the RSA Conference 2019, which is taking place this week in San Francisco.

Ghidra, the NSA explains, is a software reverse engineering (SRE) suite of tools developed by the agency’s Research Directorate to analyze malicious code and malware, as well as to provide cyber-security researchers with information on potential vulnerabilities in their networks and systems.

GhidraThe framework packs various software analysis tools compatible with multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, and provides capabilities such as disassembly, assembly, decompilation, graphing and scripting, and more.

Security researchers appear enthusiastic about Ghidra, especially since, compared to standard tools in the industry, it doesn’t cost “thousands of dollars per year,” as Errata Security’s Robert Graham points out.

Graham, who notes that the tool covers all the basics of reverse engineering, allowing for easy code analysis, also posted some detailed information on various capabilities the framework has to offer.

Shortly after the tool was released, a bug has been already discovered in its debug mode, and some have already suggested this might be a backdoor the NSA intentionally implanted there.

As Graham points out, however, the bug is likely unintentional, as the NSA “are smarter than this.”

According to the NSA, the suite includes support for a wide variety of processor instruction sets and executable formats, and can be run in both user-interactive and automated modes.

Users can also develop their own Ghidra plug-in components and/or scripts using the exposed API, the agency says.

Although Ghidra is now available for download, the source code hasn’t been released yet, but the NSA says they are working on making it open source as soon as possible.

What Are Micro-Caps and Where Do They Trade?

The term "micro-cap" refers to companies with low or "micro" market capitalizations. These are companies typically ranging between $50 million - $300 million in market capitalization. Micro-cap companies primarily trade on the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board (OTCBB) or the pink sheets.

The OTCBB is an electronic quotation system that displays real-time quotes, last-sale prices and volume information for many OTC securities that are not listed on the Nasdaq or other major securities exchanges. Although the NASD oversees the OTCBB, the OTCBB is not part of the Nasdaq. Scam artists often claim that an OTCBB company is a Nasdaq company, but this is misleading; it suggests that a company is larger and more liquid than it probably is. The pink sheets are named for the color of paper on which they've historically been printed. Many stocks quoted on the pink sheets are "penny stocks." The pink sheets is not a stock exchange and it is unregulated.

What's Different About Micro-Caps?

We all know that good information is an investor's best defense when purchasing shares in any company, but accurate information on micro-cap stocks can be hard to come by. Many micro-cap companies don't file reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), so it's tough for investors to get all the facts. Lack of reliable information makes it easy for investors to be seduced by scam artists.

Another important difference between micro-caps and larger stocks is the lack of minimum listing standards. Companies that trade their stocks on major exchanges, like the NYSE and the Nasdaq, must maintain minimum amounts of net assets and minimum numbers of shareholders to retain their listings. Companies on the OTCBB or the pink sheets, however, do not have to meet any minimum standards.

Micro-Cap Risks

It should come as no surprise to learn that micro-cap investing is far riskier than investing in large caps. Email: Junk mail and "spam" over the internet are favorite tools scam artists use to spread false information about micro-cap stocks. Never buy a stock based on an email from someone you don't know.

Internet Bulletin Boards: Many scam artists hide or change their identities in investor chat rooms or message boards, then use these forums to promote certain micro-cap companies. They often claim to have unique, inside information about a company or its products. Never buy a stock unless you've done your own research and verified the facts.

Paid Promoters: Some micro-cap companies pay promoters to recommend their stocks. These hired guns claim to provide independent, unbiased investment newsletters, research reports, and radio or television shows. Investors should check the credentials of anyone who declares his or her advice is objective and independent. Look for legitimate financial certifications that require holders to adhere to an ethical code (for example, a CFA, CFP, CIC and the like).

The Bronfman’s North-American roots can be traced back to 1889 when the family immigrated to Canada from Russia. But make no mistake, they were already wealthy but rose to fame during the Prohibition era when the Bronfman’s sold illegal liquor to the U.S. Originally tobacco farmers, the cold Canadian climate was incompatible so they opened a hotel and bar business. Samuel noting that much of the profit was in alcoholic beverages, set up shop as a liquor distributor then founded the Distillers Corporation in Montreal in 1924.

According to Peter Newman’s 1978 book – Bronfman Dynasty; The Bronfmans mixed industrial alcohol with water and caramel, added a dash of sulphuric acid, aged it in casks for two days to let the acid work on the wood, then bottled it with fake labels – Johnny Walker instead of Johnnie Walker – and sold it at a huge profit.
