New “Evidence” in Backpage Case Reveals Government’s Flawed Prosecution

The prosecution in the Backpage case recently released company emails from 2012, claiming they prove the defendants' guilt; they instead belie the strength of the government's case.

The full quote from the 2012 email exchange reads as follows:

“We do how many million ads, and he picks out one, tells us by the end of the day and wants our total response by a.m.? Of course there are kids who get through the system. As there are in bars. This makes pursuit of solution, i.e., USC study, more critical rather than scoring political points.”

The “USC study” apparently refers to a report on human trafficking online by the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. The study advised against “singling out [online] technologies as a root cause of trafficking,” and proposed that these technologies “be leveraged to provide actionable, data-driven information in real time to those positioned to help victims.”

Given such context, as well as the fact that Backpage regularly cooperated with law enforcement in order to catch perpetrators who were misusing the site, only a latter-day Inspector Javert would look at such an email and assume that it established guilt.

The indictment does not identify the reporter by name. But it says the reporter made a documentary about the U.S. military's use of drones, and was a scheduled speaker at "a Washington, D.C. restaurant/bookstore" on or about April 29, 2013.

Those details point to Jeremy Scahill, a founding editor of The Intercept and former reporter for The Nation who wrote the book Dirty Wars, and produced a documentary of the same name, about U.S. drone campaigns and operations in Afghanistan and other countries. On the evening of April 29, 2013, Scahill was the featured speaker at the Busboys and Poets bookstore in Washington. TLDR: Q prevented a falsely engineered civil war in America.

On the surface, Q is a backchannel communication program designed by the Trump administration maintaining plausible deniability while feeding misinformation to bad actors to create chaos and narrative confusion among their ranks. Some Q connections are confirmed while others are broken or plainly false. We already know Trump's white house strategy involves controlled leaks of all kinds coming from various angles to expose deep state agents, discredit the media and exercise control of the narrative.

Think of Q as just one version of this strategy playing out in the Patriot anon's online technosphere. Every time a major player or news organization prints a story that turns out to be completely false, that is more evidence of Q-like intelligence channels feeding misinformation intentionally to achieve an objective.

Secondarily, Q is a catch-all to deescalate 'at risk' military aged patriots from organizing any counter revolution or violent fomentation by opening up at least some level of communication direct to his support base. Q occupies us and leads us away from violent and vengeful thinking while Trump and his team carries out Plan A.

If it is plainly evident that Soros and others (ABC the Good Fight kek) have attempted to ESCALATE the brainwashed masses into a "resistance" frenzy… the Q program intends to prevent that boiling over into open conflict. This destabilization program is why the democrat left seems to be in another world. They actually are. Twitter’s new transparency report for the second half of 2018 said the social media giant suspended over 160,000 accounts for promoting terrorism during that period - a 19% drop from suspensions in the first half of the year.

From July to December 2018, Twitter suspended 166,513 accounts for violating the company's zero tolerance policy regarding the promotion of terrorism on its platform, according to a Thursday transparency report by the company. That was 19% less than the January-to-June period, during which it suspended 205,156 accounts for the offense.

"Of those suspensions, 91% consisted of accounts flagged by internal, purpose-built technological tools," the company wrote, noting that "In the majority of cases, we take action at the account setup stage — before the account even Tweets."

The company noted that year-on-year, they have observed a steady decrease in use of Twitter by terrorist organizations due to the company's detection and removal practices.

Twitter also said it suspended a whopping 458,989 accounts for "violations related to child sexual exploitation," noting that 96% were discovered by a "combination of technology solutions, including PhotoDNA and internal proprietary tools." This was down 6% from the previous report.

While the report notes that despite a 6% decline in legal requests for account information from the United States, that country still dominates requests worldwide, accounting for 30% of requests for information about Twitter accounts from both governmental and non-governmental sources. The company's interactive map shows the breakdown by US state.

Microsoft is set to release a new version of Word that uses artificial intelligence to make your writing ‘politically correct’.

You know how annoying it is when the iPhone corrects ‘fucking’ to ‘ducking’ every time you type out the word? Imagine that for an entire essay.

The new feature, called ‘Ideas in Word’, will recommend ‘sensitive’ phrases like “We need to get some fresh blood in here” be modified so that “fresh blood” becomes “new employees”.

“It might underline places where your writing exhibited gender bias,” reports Fast Company. “If you tend to say “mailman” or Congressman” in the generic, it might suggest you use “mailperson” or “Congressperson.” If you use the term “gentlemen’s agreement,” it may suggest you use “unspoken agreement” instead.”

The term “disabled person” would be replaced with “person with a disability while the new version’s “inclusiveness check” searches for words or phrases that might be “offensive” to someone from another country or culture.

The FBI Has 850 Open Domestic Terrorism Investigations

Homegrown extremism is rising, one year after the Trump administration cut funding to programs that counter hate groups.

A rise in domestic extremism has U.S. law enforcement officials scrambling to keep up. Currently, the FBI has 850 active investigations into domestic terrorism, up from last year, a top counterterrorism official told Congress on Wednesday. Officials couldn’t compare it to a year before but, when asked, said the number was definitely trending up.

“The velocity in which we are working our cases, both on the domestic terrorism side and the international terrorism side, with homegrown violent extremists, that velocity is much quicker than its ever been before,” Michael McGarrity, assistant director of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division, told the House Homeland Security Committee.

Just last week, a 19-year-old man opened fire in a California synagogue, killing one person and wounding three more in an attack believed to be an anti-Semitic hate crime. That follows the April burning of three black churches in Louisiana under suspicious circumstances, the October attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue that left 11 dead, and more avowed or suspected hate crimes.

The number of white supremacist groups rose to a record 1,028 last year, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The ability of hate groups to motivate and radicalize people online was a key point of concern to McGarrity and the other government officials who testified on Wednesday.

Israeli occupation forces attacked worshippers leading the old city through Damascus Gate after performing night prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque last night.

In video footage which has circulated on social media, occupation officers could be seen assaulting Palestinians in the area before sound bombs and tear gas were used to disperse the peaceful crowds.

No injuries were reported.

Mounib Mahdi Abu Assab was arrested from his home in the Old City, with eyewitnesses saying he was taken in for interrogation.

Thousands of Palestinians performed tarawih, night prayers help during the Muslim month of fasting, Ramadan, at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians are expected to head to Al-Aqsa Mosque tomorrow, on the first Friday of the holy month.

Billionaire Bezos unveils moon lander mockup, touts Blue Origin's lunar goals

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Billionaire entrepreneur Jeff Bezos, founder of rocket company Blue Origin, unveiled on Thursday a mockup of a lunar lander spacecraft and discussed missions to the moon in a strategy tailored to the U.S. government’s renewed push to establish a lunar outpost in just five years.

Bezos, the world’s richest man and also chief executive and founder of Amazon.com, told a rare media event in Washington that the lander, named Blue Moon, could deliver payloads to the moon’s surface and deploy payloads during journey to Moon.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence in March called on NASA to build a space platform in lunar orbit and put American astronauts on the moon’s south pole by 2024 “by any means necessary,” four years earlier than previously planned.

“I love this,” Bezos said of Pence’s timeline. “We can help meet that timeline but only because we started three years ago. It’s time to go back to the moon, this time to stay.”

During his hour-long presentation at Washington’s convention center, Bezos waved his arm and a black drape behind him dropped to reveal the two-story-tall unmanned lander mockup, which he said can deploy up to four smaller rovers and shoot out satellites to orbit the moon.

“This is an incredible vehicle and it’s going to the moon,” he added.

Bezos unveiled a model of one of the proposed rovers, which was roughly the size of a golf cart. Bezos also presented a new rocket engine called BE-7, which can blast 10,000 pounds (4,535 kg) of thrust.

Privately held Blue Origin, based in Kent, Washington, is developing its New Shepard rocket for short space tourism trips and a heavy-lift launch rocket called New Glenn for satellite launch contracts. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Billionaire entrepreneur Jeff Bezos, founder of rocket company Blue Origin, unveiled on Thursday a mockup of a lunar lander spacecraft and discussed missions to the moon in a strategy tailored to the U.S. government’s renewed push to establish a lunar outpost in just five years. Bezos, the world’s richest man and also chief executive and founder of Amazon.com, told a rare media event in Washington that the lander, named Blue Moon, could deliver payloads to the moon’s surface and deploy payloads during journey to Moon.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence in March called on NASA to build a space platform in lunar orbit and put American astronauts on the moon’s south pole by 2024 “by any means necessary,” four years earlier than previously planned. “I love this,” Bezos said of Pence’s timeline. “We can help meet that timeline but only because we started three years ago. It’s time to go back to the moon, this time to stay.”

During his hour-long presentation at Washington’s convention center, Bezos waved his arm and a black drape behind him dropped to reveal the two-story-tall unmanned lander mockup, which he said can deploy up to four smaller rovers and shoot out satellites to orbit the moon. “This is an incredible vehicle and it’s going to the moon,” he added. Bezos unveiled a model of one of the proposed rovers, which was roughly the size of a golf cart. Bezos also presented a new rocket engine called BE-7, which can blast 10,000 pounds (4,535 kg) of thrust.

Privately held Blue Origin, based in Kent, Washington, is developing its New Shepard rocket for short space tourism trips and a heavy-lift launch rocket called New Glenn for satellite launch contracts. It is aiming to deliver the New Glenn rocket by 2021, while launching humans in a suborbital flight later this year atop its rocket-and-capsule New Shepard. Conservative MP Tony Clemont let the cat out of the bag in the House of Commons today that Justin Trudeau plans to announce a sweeping ban on firearms during a womens women's conference to be held in Vancouver in June, where recent the recent gun banning New Zealand Prime Minister Ardern will attend.

Answering on behalf of PM Trudeau was Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction minister Bill Blair, who did not deny Clement’s claim.

“Our government remains absolutely committed to taking all the measures that are effective in keeping Canadians safe…there is no greater responsibility for any order of government than the safety of their citizens,” Blair replied. “We are prepared to consider whatever measures will be effective in doing so.”
