Iran 'seizes British-flagged oil tanker'

 

A British-flagged oil tanker has been seized in the Gulf by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Iran media say.

 

The owners of the Stena Impero, which was bound for Saudi Arabia, say they have been unable to contact the vessel and it is "heading north towards Iran".

 

The company says there are 23 personnel on board and it was approached by "unidentified small crafts and a helicopter" in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

The Foreign Office is "urgently" looking into the reports.

 

The government's emergency committee, Cobra, is meeting in Whitehall to discuss the incident.

 

This latest development comes amid heightened tensions between the UK and Iran.

Stena Bulk, the vessel owner, and ship manager Northern Marine Management confirmed the UK-registered Stena Impero was approached at around 16:00 BST on Friday while it was in international waters.

 

A statement said: "We are presently unable to contact the vessel which is now heading north towards Iran.

 

"There have been no reported injuries and their safety is of primary concern to both owners and managers."

As you can see from the Photo, one, possibly two Heavy Aircraft just dropped a huge Chem-Trail just NW of FT Huachuca, over the West UAV Range, NE of the Black Tower TUAS Facility. The area under this Trail is the Elgin Area of Southeastern Arizona. He called them Contrails, but note how long they are hanging around. The Aircraft initially tracked from the NNW to SSE, then make a left turn, head N, then another left turn to the NW, and initiate a climb. Once they are established, they begin a right turn, and maintain climb, until they are above the light cloud deck, heading North.

 

This is VERY obvious fuckery. They didn't even try to hide it! Possibly a malfunction in the Aircraft? I tried to see something on ADSB, but nothing, probably had their ADSB Transponders off. I remember when I was researching Pizzagate/Epstein a few years ago and a researcher commented on the sundial and said it measured exactly so many feet from the temple.. After all, if Abbie Hoffman and his yippie friends were able to levitate the Pentagon a few inches in 1968, and if NASA was able to send astronauts to the moon in 1969, surely levitating the Washington Monument and sending it to the moon would be well within the limits of todayโ€™s technology.

Former Texas police chief gets 20 years for drug trafficking

MCALLEN, Texas (AP) A former South Texas police chief and law enforcement officer of nearly two decades has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for drug trafficking.

 

U.S. District Judge Randy Crane sentenced 45-year-old Geovani V. Hernandez on Thursday.

 

Hernandez, of McAllen, was convicted of numerous drug charges in March, including attempting to aid and abet possession with intent to distribute.

 

Hernandez was a Progreso police sergeant when federal agents arrested him in 2017.

 

A criminal complaint reveals that Hernandez accepted cash from a federal informant to provide security for a drug cartel associate and a shipment of cocaine.

 

Crane noted before the sentencing that Hernandez, who was briefly the police chief in La Joya, could have reduced his prison time by seven years if he had chosen to plead guilty.

Elena Kagan Says She Wrote Her Gerrymandering Dissent For History

 

Justice Elena Kagan repeated her vigorous criticism of the Supreme Courtโ€™s June ruling on partisan gerrymandering Thursday, saying the majorityโ€™s decision was โ€œabysmally wrong.โ€

 

Chief Justice John Roberts led a five-justice majority to decide that federal courts cannot resolve disputes over partisan line-drawing. Kagan wrote the principle dissent in that case.

 

โ€œThereโ€™s no part of me thatโ€™s ever going to become accepting of the decision made โ€” essentially that the courts shouldnโ€™t get involved with gerrymandering no matter how bad it is and no matter how destructive of our political system it is, which is the decision that the Court reached,โ€ the justice said during an interview at the Georgetown University Law Center.

 

โ€œThere were difficult issues in the case,โ€ Kagan added. โ€œYou can understand why the majority reached the decision it did. Iโ€™m one hundred percent certain in every bone of my body that the majority was acting in complete good faith as to why it reached the decision it did. But I do think it got it wrong,โ€ she added.

 

Kagan made the remarks in the course of describing her approach to dissenting opinions. In some instances, Kagan says she feels duty-bound to inform the parties that some justices were inclined to the losing side. On other occasions, Kagan said she writes dissents for a historical audience, hoping to convince future generations that the Court seriously erred.

 

The gerrymandering dissent falls into the latter category, she said. Kagan went on to express hope that the political conditions she believes gerrymandering engenders โ€” like extreme partisanship and political dysfunction โ€” will convince the Supreme Court to change its mind at some point in the future.

 

The justice read her dissent from the bench when the decision was handed down, a seldom-used prerogative meant to signal strong disagreement with the majority opinion. Kagan grew emotional at times as she read her dissent.

 

โ€œIn the face of grievous harm to democratic governance and flagrant infringements on individualsโ€™ rights โ€” in the face of escalating partisan manipulation whose compatibility with this nationโ€™s values and law no one defends โ€” the majority declines to provide any remedy,โ€ Kagan wrote. โ€œFor the first time in this nationโ€™s history, the majority declares that it can do nothing about an acknowledged constitutional violation.โ€

 

She concluded the opinion in somewhat unusual fashion, saying she dissented โ€œwith respect but deep sadness.โ€

 

The Supreme Court is currently adjourned for the summer, but the justices will gather on Monday when the late Justice John Paul Stevens lays in repose in the Courtโ€™s Great Hall.

We're just over a year away from the start of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and hundreds of American athletes are competing for a chance to go. One such competitor, Jessica Springsteen, is well-known for another reason: she's Bruce Springsteen's daughter.

 

Springsteen competes in equestrian show jumping, riding galloping horses up to 30 mph that hurdle over 13 jumps as high as six feet and as wide as seven. Each course is designed with challenges like tight turns, triple jump combinations, water obstacles and a time limit, which is usually under 90 seconds.

 

A clean round paired with the fastest time earns the win โ€” and usually means a trophy and tens of thousands of dollars in prize money.

 

Springsteen is currently ranked fifth in the nation and hopes to make the Olympic team in 2020. "It's gonna be really toughโ€ฆ" she said. "But one day I think I'll be there."

 

Equestrian events are one of the only sports in the Olympics in which men and women compete against one another. "I think it's great," Springsteen said. "You see a lot of the top riders are women and men. It's so equal. And it's amazing. And it's always such a surprise to people."

 

At Rushy Marsh Farm in Wellington, Florida, which Springsteen describes as her "happy place," she trains on six horses a day to help prepare for year-round competition.

 

She's as much a celebrity in this world as her rock star parents, who cheer her on from the stands. Springsteen said she's not fazed by the transition from "Bruce Springsteen's daughter" to champion rider and Olympic hopeful.

 

"Growing up in New Jersey, everyone was so used to seeing my parents everywhere," she said. "And especially with riding, when I was so young, I didn't even realize what was going on, I think. And as I've gotten older, it's so normal now."

 

The preparation for competition is intense. Making a horse jump, for example, requires being "at the right balance, the right side of the fence and the right distance so that they're able to clear it and kind of make their best jump."

 

It's also a mental sport, she said.

 

"You're just focused on what you're doing, what the horse is feeling," she said. "And you're really just in sync and kind of in the zone."

 

She's become "more nervous" as she's gotten older, she added. "You're more aware of what can happen to you. You know, you see your friends have some bad falls. But you have to be confident. You have to be comfortable."

 

Springsteen won't know for sure if she makes the Olympic team that will head to Tokyo until next year. As for her parents, she says it's "relaxing" for them to watch her compete and she's lucky to have their support and passion for her career.

Why Didn't Mueller Investigate the Seth Rich Murder?

 

The former spy chief ignored Assangeโ€™s allegations and instead pushed his own conspiracy theory.

 

Seth Rich was murdered on July 10, 2016, almost exactly three years ago. Itโ€™s a mystifying murder investigation, a case that remains unsolved. Rich was killed by a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the medical examiner. Richโ€™s mother specified that it was โ€œtwo shots to the back.โ€

 

The 27-year-old computer applications developer for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) remained alive for 90 minutes after the shooting. Richโ€™s brother described him as being โ€œvery aware, very talkativeโ€ to police during that time. Yet the D.C. Metro Police have released very little information on the Rich murder, never disclosing whether Rich described his murderer(s). Weeks later, police assured the nation, โ€œThere is no indication that Seth Richโ€™s death is connected to his employment at the DNC.โ€ Robert Muellerโ€™s investigation did nothing to seek further information and served only to nix any theories that the Rich murder coincided with any part of a DNC inside job.

 

Early in the investigation, the police verified that robbery was not the motive of the killing, as nothing was missing from Richโ€™s personal belongings, including his wallet, money, credit cards, and expensive watch. There is no evidence to disprove, however, that the murder was related to his position within the DNC and, more specifically, to the leaked DNC emails published by WikiLeaks on July 22, 2016. The proximity of the murder date to the publishing date hardly seems coincidental. Yet, since those same DNC email leaks were such a major plot point of Muellerโ€™s investigation, a thorough investigation conducted under the auspices of the extended powers of a special prosecutorโ€™s office could have produced alarming results had that investigation happened. It didnโ€™t.

 

โ€œRobert Mueller is dead certain that the murder had nothing to do with the emails,โ€ wrote journalist Daniel Lazare, โ€œjust as he was dead certain in 2003 that Iraq was bristling with weapons of mass destruction โ€˜pos[ing] a clear threat to our national security.โ€™ โ€

 

Mueller described WikiLeaks founder Julian Assangeโ€™s semi-cryptic statements regarding the Rich-DNC leaks ties as being โ€œdissembling,โ€ meaning disguising his true motives.

 

The Mueller report states: โ€œBeginning in the summer of 2016, Assange and WikiLeaks made a number of statements about Seth Rich, a former DNC staff member who was killed in July 2016. The statements about Rich implied falsely that he had been the source of the stolen DNC emails. On Aug. 9, 2016, the @WikiLeaks Twitter account posted: โ€˜ANNOUNCE: WikiLeaks has decided to issue a US$20k reward for information leading to conviction for the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich.โ€™ โ€

 

In August 2016, Assange went on to make at least two more thinly veiled references to Rich as the leaker of the DNC emails.

 

Mueller stands by his own conspiracy theory, best described on news analysis website Vox.com by Jane Coaston. โ€œThe evidence showed that WikiLeaks got the DNC emails and Podestaโ€™s internal documents from Russian hackers,โ€ Coaston wrote, โ€œbut WikiLeaks and Assange repeatedly lied on national television and implied Rich was involved.โ€

 

The questionable evidence to which Coaston alludes is simply that, as quoted in the Mueller report, โ€œThe U.S. intelligence community publicly announced its assessment that Russia was behind the hacking operation.โ€ That announcement also came at a time when the intelligence communities were actively working against President Donald Trump to force compliance with their history, methods, and agendas.

A criminal complaint was unsealed today in federal court in the Eastern District of New York charging Ruslan Maratovich Asainov, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Kazakhstan with providing and attempting to provide material support, including training, services and personnel, to the Islamic State (ISIS). Asainov was detained overseas by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and recently transferred into FBI custody.

 

The charges were announced by Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers, U.S. Attorney Richard P. Donoghue for the Eastern District of New York, Assistant Director Mike McGarrity for the FBIโ€™s Counterterrorism Division, Assistant Director-in-Charge William F. As alleged in the complaint and other court filings, the defendant resided in Brooklyn, New York. In December 2013, the defendant traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, which is a common transit point to obtain entry into Syria. He subsequently entered Syria, joined ISIS, and became a sniper for the terrorist organization. Over time, the defendant rose through the ranks to become an ISIS โ€œemirโ€ in charge of training other ISIS members in the use of weapons. He also attempted to recruit another individual to travel from the United States to Syria to fight for ISIS.

The outgoing chief executive officer will continue to lift his $2 million annual salary through July 31, 2022, in exchange for providing โ€œcertain servicesโ€ and agreeing not to take a job at a rival, according to a regulatory filing Friday. His successor, Olivier Le Peuch, will receive $1.4 million in salary after he takes over the top job on Aug. 1. Heโ€™s eligible for an annual bonus of as much as $2.1 million, and a $10.5 million grant of stock thatโ€™s tied to performance metrics.

 

Kibsgaard, whoโ€™s also accumulated about $10 million in pension benefits over his 22 years at the company, said Friday that it was important for him to โ€œwalk off the stageโ€ as soon as Le Peuch was ready to take over.

Judge Tosses Lawsuit from Student Hit by Car at Anti-Trump Highway Protest

A San Diego judge has thrown out a lawsuit from a student who was hit by a moving vehicle during a protest against Donald Trump on the eight-lane I-5 freeway.

Breitbart News reported in January 2018 that a UC San Diego student had sued a driver after she was hit during an anti-Trump protest that took place on a busy roadway. The protest, which took place shortly after Donald Trump was announced as the winner of the presidential election, involved an attempt to shut down traffic on the nearby I-5 freeway. Mariana Flores, then a sophomore, was struck and injured by a vehicle.

 

โ€œAs an emergency vehicle was attempting to shut down Interstate-5 by driving in an โ€œSโ€ formation across the southbound lanes, the driver hit Flores, crushing her pelvis, fracturing her leg, and causing other serious injuries,โ€ the UCSD student newspaper report read at the time.

 

Floresโ€™ attorney, Jerold Sullivan told The College Fix for a report this week that the judgeโ€™s decision to throw out the case is a โ€œtragedy.โ€ More significantly, he announced that the case will not be refiled with the court.

 

โ€œThe person that ran her over did not have insurance and is judgment-proof with no assets. Ms. Flores is left with no recourse for catastrophic physical injuries and a lifetime of medical expenses,โ€ Sullivan explained.

 

Sullivan initially attempted to name UC San Diego as one of the defendants but was ultimately forced to remove them after a judge ruled that the university was not responsible for Floresโ€™ injuries.

 

This was not the only traffic-blocking protest that was inspired by President Trumpโ€™s election. Breitbart News reported in September 2017 that 31 Harvard professors were arrested for blocking traffic during a protest effort against the presidentโ€™s decision to repeal DACA.

Looking for advice from any American lawfags here, please.

 

A friend works for a large international children's charity. She has concrete evidence of financial mismanagement on a huge scale. I've been trying to get her to blow the whistle on them for a long time, suspecting that there's much more shit going on behind the scenes and that it all ties in with (((them))). Cited Q repeatedly, but she always thought I was a kook.

 

But now, Epstein is public knowledge. And yesterday, we were discussing it again and suddenly it all fit together for her. She woke up.

 

Here's my question, though: who does she blow the whistle to? Does she just pick up the phone and call the switchboard of the FBI? or DOJ? or what? She's has some damning evidence and I'm kinda worried about her talking to the wrong people and getting hurt.

 

She's pretty intimidated about initiating contact, so I said I'd try to help. If anyone knows any specifics on what she should do, please share, tyvm

New Al-Qaeda-Affiliated Group Deploys Reinforcements In Northern Hama

 

The al-Fatah Brigades, a newly-founded al-Qaeda-affiliated group in Greater Idlib, have deployed several large units in northern Hama countryside.

 

Photos released by the terrorist group on July 18 show dozens of militants and several vehicles, some of them armed with heavy machine guns, heading towards the frontlines in northern Hama.

 

The al-Fatah Brigades were founded last December by a group of radicals, including Abu Talha al-Hadidi. The infamous terrorist was Hayโ€™at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) main military commander in western Aleppo up until June of last year, when he and his fighters defected.

 

Enab Baladi, a pro-opposition outlet, said that the newly-founded group has around 500 militants only, with little to non medium or heavy weapons.

 

Last month, a unit of the al-Fatah Brigades had participated in a failed attack on the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions in the town of al-Hwaiz in northwestern Hama.

 

The deployment of larger units in northern Hama now indicates that the al-Fatah Brigades are rapidly growing, similar to many other terrorist groups in Greater Idlib.

Russian Airstrike Eliminates Senior NFL Commander

 

Abu Omar Dabah al-Dik a senior military commander in the Sham Legion was killed on July 18 in a Russian airstrike on the Kurd Mountains in the northern Lattakia countryside.

 

Pro-opposition activists revealed that the same airstrike claimed the lives of three other personnel of the Sham Legion.

I'm not a millennial but apparently I sleep like one. Thatโ€™s because when I wriggle into bed at night, I slip between the SCANDALOUS combination of a FITTED SHEET and a comforter-filled duvet. In case you missed the drama: Thereโ€™s no top sheet anywhere in this equation. THOSE FLAT, FLOPPY BEASTS GET TOSSED INTO THE TOSSED into the highest corner in my linen closet, NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN.

Iโ€™m not the first to weigh in on the topicโ€”but where THE MOVEMENT WAS ONCE FRINGEOR or HUSH- HUSH, itโ€™s NOW IT IS OUT IN THE OPEN. In fact, TOP-SHEET TRUTHERS are passionate and offer reams (BOLTS?) of COMPELING EVIDENCE for the superiority of this choice.

 

For starters, the TOP SHEET DOESN'T PLAY WELL WITH OTHERSโ€”it invariably ENDS UP IN IN A damp, DE-SPIRITED WAD toward the LOWER THIRD OF THE BED, TWISTED around like a bad metaphor.

Whatโ€™s more, the TOP SHEET ADDS TIME TO THE BED-making process as well, whereas repositioning a duvet-only bed takes barely two flicks of the wristโ€”never requiring that you actually walk around the entire bed once or twice to get it all just right. (Hard pass.)

 

Those two reasons donโ€™t hold much sway with the likes of homemaking doyenne Suzanne Pollak, founder of the Charleston Academy of Domestic Pursuits, who emits something between a GASP-AND GRY-HEAVE WHEN I call her to TALK ABOUT THE PRACTICE.

To Pollak, making a bed the proper way, and taking the time to do so, is a kind of self-careโ€”something everyone is OBSESSED with today anyway. โ€œThere are some things in life that take a few extra seconds, but these are things that improve your life. Spend a few less minutes on social media if you have to find the time somewhere!โ€ OUCH!

And the CROP OF Modern BED DIRECT-TO-CONSUMER LINEN COMPANIES, like the LA-based brand Parachute, have NOTICED THE SHIFTt and ADJUSTED THEIR BEDDING STRATEGIES with that in mind.

 

According to the company, nearly 40PERCENT OF THIER CUSTOMERS ONLY WANT A BOTTOM SHEET, not bothโ€”and as a result, their bedding sets differ from many youโ€™d find in department stores, where you get a fitted and a flat. Guise now when ever I see a foundation institute, or charity involved with childrenโ€™s causes, I immediately suspect then, and I search for signs of pedophiles or some kind of corruption. And then I check to see if they know the Clintons, Epstein, the royals or others involved. And then I check to see if the work with any of the other foundations youโ€™ve uncovered. And then I second guess my digging and search again
