Iranian secret services uncovered a 17-member spy ring working against the country, according to state-affiliated media. Some of the agents have been given capital punishment.

All the suspects in question were arrested by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence, the semi-official Fars News Agency reported.

They were working as private contractors “in the economic, nuclear, infrastructural, military and cyber areas… where they collected classified information,” the report said.

State television says it's heard from the Intelligence Ministry that they were working for the C-I-A CLOWNS.

Seventeen CIA spies have been arrested in Iran and some of them will face the death penalty, Tehran claimed today amid a worsening Middle East crisis.

Iran's intelligence ministry declared it had broken up an American spy ring and sentenced several of its members to death, according to state television.

'The identified spies were employed in sensitive and vital private sector centres in the economic, nuclear, infrastructural, military and cyber areas… where they collected classified information,' a spokesman said.

Washington has yet to respond but the spy claims are likely to send tensions spiralling further.

Iran has been feuding with the West for weeks over the crumbling nuclear deal and a series of threats to Middle East shipping, which heightened again last week when Tehran's revolutionary guards seized a British tanker in the Straits of Hormuz.

Iran captured the Stena Impero Friday in retaliation for a British Royal Marine operation two weeks ago in which an Iranian vessel was seized off Gibraltar.

Video footage released by Iran showed the tanker being surrounded by speedboats before troops in balaclavas descend a rope from a helicopter onto the vessel.

Authorities impounded the ship on allegations it failed to respond to distress calls and turned off its transponder after hitting a fishing boat.

Its crew is made up of 18 Indians, including the captain, three Russians, a Latvian and a Filipino.

A top British representative to the UN rejected Iran's version of events, accusing Tehran of 'illegal interference' and saying there was no evidence of a collision.

In a letter to the UN Security Council, British charge d'affaires Jonathan Allen wrote that the vessel had been in Omani waters with its transponder switched on when it was approached.

It was 'exercising the lawful right of transit passage in an international strait', he wrote.

Britain has warned its ships to avoid the Straits of Hormuz, a chokepoint for about a third of the world's sea-borne oil.

UK authorities intercepted the Grace 1 on July 4, saying it was violating EU sanctions by carrying a shipment of Iranian crude oil to Syria.

A detachment of Royal Marines from 42 Commando boarded the vessel off Gibraltar in a joint operation with the Royal Gibraltar Police.

Gibraltar's government said tests showed the supertanker was fully loaded with crude oil.

But Iran has insisted that the tanker was not headed for Syria.

Tankers in the Gulf have come under attack repeatedly in recent weeks, in explosions which Britain and America have blamed on Iran.

A UAE investigation found four mysterious sabotage attacks on May 12 were linked to a 'state actor' but did not name Iran.

The attacks were carried out with limpet mines and were 'part of a sophisticated and coordinated operation', the report found.

The tanker attacks inflamed an already tense Middle East stand-off and prompted the U.S. to bolster its military presence in the region.

Matters worsened just four weeks later when another two ships were hit by explosions in the Gulf of Oman.

Forty-four sailors were forced to abandon their ships amid a huge fireball on the MT Front Altair and another blast on the Kokuka Courageous.

America again blamed Iran, releasing a video which purported to show Iranian revolutionary guard forces removing an unexploded limpet mine from one of the ships.

Meanwhile tensions over Iran's nuclear ambitions have also been heightening as Tehran moves ever further away from its 2015 nuclear deal.

After Donald Trump quit the nuclear deal in 2018, the U.S. administration reimposed tough sanctions on Iran, which retaliated by increasing its enrichment of uranium beyond limits set in the nuclear accord.

Iran has said that it could restart deactivated centrifuges and ramp up enrichment of uranium to 20 per cent.

But Major General Hossein Salami, the head of the Revolutionary Guards, denied Iran was pursuing a nuclear weapon.

Trump called off air strikes against Iran at the last minute in June after the Islamic republic downed a U.S. drone.

Iranian Intel Minister: We Identified, Arrested 290 cia spies In Different Countries

"We're still dealing with the fallout … Dozens of people around the world were killed because of this," a former U.S. national security official told Yahoo.

Here’s everything we know about the alleged madam so far.

She’s a 57-year-old British socialite.

Maxwell is the daughter of publisher Robert Maxwell — in short, she comes from money. Per the Wall Street Journal, she grew up and attended university in England, then moved to the United States in 1991 after her father fell to his death from his yacht, the Lady Ghislaine. (Epstein reportedly uses a yacht with the same name to transport women from St. Thomas in the Caribbean to his own private island, which locals have nicknamed “Pedophile Island.”) Exactly how Maxwell and Epstein met is unclear, but the two reportedly dated for a short period of time around 1992, then remained close friends after breaking up. The Oxford-educated Maxwell, described by many as a man-eater (she flies her own helicopter and was recently seen dining with [Bill] Clinton at Nello’s on Madison Avenue), lives in her own townhouse a few blocks away. Epstein is frequently seen around town with a bevy of comely young women but there has been no boldfaced name to replace Maxwell. “You may read about Jeffrey in the social columns, but there is much more to him than that,” says Jeffrey T. Leeds of the private equity firm Leeds Weld & Co.

(Additionally, in 2017, a woman named Sarah Ransome alleged in a lawsuit that Maxwell and Epstein had threatened to physically hurt her or ruin her career were she to refuse to have sex with the pair’s clients. Ransome withdrew the suit in December 2018 for reasons that were not made public.)

Sanford L. Bohrer, the Miami Herald’s attorney, has urged the New York appeals court to prioritize unsealing the approximate 2,000 pages of documents related to the 2015 defamation case, as the allegations against Maxwell are “an issue of critical public concern.” And speaking of the potential consequences of Epstein’s indictment, David Boies, the lawyer representing Giuffre, told the Herald, “The one person most likely in jeopardy is Maxwell because the records that are going to be unsealed have so much evidence against her.”

On July 2 of this year, though, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ordered that some of the aforementioned sealed documents be unsealed. But, predictably, Maxwell would prefer that the 2,000-some documents remain sealed. On July 11, a conference was scheduled to determine whether all the documents should be unsealed, but the day before, U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska postponed the conference to July 25, per Maxwell’s request. (According to Bloomberg, one of Maxwell’s lawyers told Preska that to have the news conference on July 11 would be “premature,” as the case has not yet been officially returned to her court.)

Iran has detained 17 Iranian citizens accused of acting as spies for the United States Central Intelligence Agency, according to the country's Ministry of Intelligence.

An Intelligence Ministry document sent to CNN claims Iran had broken up a CIA spying ring and captured 17 suspects, all of whom confessed to acting as spies for the CIA.

"Defendants serving their sentences in prison mentioning tempting promises of CIA officers including emigration to USA, a proper job in America, and money," the Intelligence Ministry document said. It added that the spy mission was to collect classified information "from substantial centers as well as intelligence/technical operations."

The Ministry said some of the 17 will be executed.

According to a news report in April, in the southeastern province of Paktia, health officials said tablet k pills had been seized from local pharmacies.

In Jalalabad, Mohammad, who works at a pharmacy, told Al Jazeera the drug could be found anywhere from taxis, kebab shops, rickshaws and even pharmacies.

"We put it in antibiotics packets and when those who know what to ask for approach us, we sell it to them under the guise of medicine," said Mohammad*, who uses the drug and requested anonymity.

At first three (triangular formation). Very deep. I was able to see the stuff underneath the wings.

Then about 15 minutes later two more but way higher.

Anons I had a demonic encounter the other night. I have never felt fear like I did then. I smelled it first. It smelled like corruption. Like shit and spoiled food and death. Like everything nasty you have ever smelled all rolled up into one.

It looked like a hole in the dark. Blacker than black, I could feel the malevolence, hatred coming off of it.

I felt cold, I actually started to shiver on a hot night in Vegas. I served overseas and am well acquainted with danger, ive had plenty of sphincter clenching moments but this was entirely out of the realm of my experience.

I was armed at the time and never even thought to reach for my weapon. I stood there for a few minutes and then I started to pray. No special prayer, I just started talking to God and it went away after a couple of minutes. Ive heard people say they felt like ice was moving up their spine, I felt that.
