These scrolls contain an apocalyptic prophecy of a war between the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness. There are many key differences in the way the War against the Kittim and the War of Divisions are described. The War against the Kittim is referred to as a day of battle with seven stages, with the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness each winning three of the first six before final victory for the Sons of Light by divine intervention in the seventh. While it is unclear if this is meant as a literal 24-hour period, it does not seem to describe a protracted battle. After the War against the Kittim there is a six-year period of preparation culminating in the restoration of the Temple in Jerusalem. The beginning of the description of the War of Divisions says that there are 33 years of war remaining of the total 40 years of the war. In the War against the Kittim each side will fight alongside angelic hosts and supernatural beings and final victory is achieved for the Sons of Light directly by the hand of God. In the War of Divisions, on the other hand, there is no mention of angels or supernatural allies fighting alongside either the tribes of Israel or the Nations. Another distinction is that in the War against the Kittim the Sons of Light face defeat three times before victory, but in the War of Divisions there is not mention of defeat or setbacks of any kind…

Hey Anons,

As far as the Pizza Pi issue goes, other than the fact that they sell pizza and are in close proximity to Pedo Island, I haven't seen anything else hinky regarding them…yet, and I will always be paying attention.

Here's the thing…I watch all of the sailing channels on YT, and at the very least, Pizza Pi does have a legit aspect of their business. You see them all the time on sailing channels and people rave about their pizza. As far as who orders pizza on the water? There are tons of "cruisers" from the US and all over that live on their boats and travel the Caribbean, especially in the winter. Check out the crowd in the pic.

Raising rates increases borrowing costs, which were much lower under Hussein. The rate needed raising, it was the continuous rate hikes POTUS objected to.

The Supreme Court, applying the Framers' intent, later declared that the clause also did not provide any privilege from civil process. Long v. Ansell. Hence, civil litigants can compel Members of Congress to appear in a court of proper jurisdiction to defend against civil actions. "Most of my problems stem from trying to pursue my dream of starting and maintaining my law firm," he said. "When you own a business, when you begin [slipping] financially, it can become like going down a mountain of ice."

Those problems were mounting even as Cummings, a public official for 17 years, was becoming a highly popular and influential figure. Only this year, the Democratic congressman said, has he shaken free of most of his debts. He had previously characterized his difficulties as those born of his decision in late 1995 to run for Congress after Rep. Kweisi Mfume announced that he would resign.

In the mid-1990s, the Internal Revenue Service filed court papers declaring that Cummings was legally obliged to pay more than $30,000 in unpaid federal taxes. He finished paying those taxes earlier this year.

 

Cummings appears to have violated campaign finance law by having a donor co-sign a loan that supplied $15,000 for his first House campaign, attorneys knowledgeable about that law say.

 

In five instances, creditors went to court to force Cummings to pay a total of $24,000 in overdue debts.

 

Cummings said he has been short of money, in part, because he helps to support three children: his college-age daughter with his now-estranged wife and two children he fathered by other women out of wedlock – a 16-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter. Cummings said he paid about $30,000 last year in child support and tuition payments.

 

The congressman has referred to his younger daughter in many speeches. But until now, he has never publicly acknowledged the existence of his son. The teen-ager lives with his mother in Baltimore.

 

In 1997, Cummings underwent what he would describe only as "major surgery," which he said drained him of energy and money. "It was a tough year – unquestionably the toughest of my life," he said.

 

Driven by 'conscience'

 

Cummings said he has consistently endeavored to repair his tattered finances without relying on help from anyone with a personal stake in matters that he can affect as a congressman.

 

"I have a moral conscience that is real central," he said. "I didn't ask the federal government or anyone else to do me any favors."

 

Cummings has often said that he sacrificed a lucrative legal career to serve in public life. In one typical exchange in 1997, he told a reporter that he had taken a sharp pay cut to go to Congress.

 

Cummings said recently that in at least one year, his law practice produced hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue, far more than he earns as a congressman. And he said he could have made far more working elsewhere.

 

To understand his situation now, Cummings said, you have to know where he came from: His parents moved to south Baltimore in 1945, leaving behind harsh lives as sharecroppers in South Carolina on land where his ancestors had been slaves. Elijah, one of seven children, was born in 1951. There was little money. His father was a laborer, his mother a housekeeper. Many of his young friends ended up tangling with the law.

 

"I made a decision that I was going to be a lawyer," Cummings said. "That was my decision, and it became my dream."

Each passing day Westerners are confronted with yet more evidence that their world is one of constant discord and disconnect. In search of some reading material to make it through a torrential weekend, I chanced upon a book in my humble collection entitled, β€˜Conversations with Isaiah Berlin.’ Since, like many people, I have been pondering the fate of Western civilization as it passes through a period of tumultuous social and political upheaval, the words on the page I had randomly opened to almost knocked me clean out of my chair.

 

β€œSolitude doesn’t mean that you live far from other people. It means that people don’t understand what you are saying.”

 

Eureka! The dilemma of enforced multiculturalism summed up in two sentences.

 

Berlin was quoting a friend, a native of the Balkans, who had sought refuge in the United Kingdom some forty years earlier. Although the Γ©migrΓ© spoke perfect English, it was not nearly enough to fully assimilate into his new culture. There were simply too many other layers of separation that prevented him from being understood on the most fundamental level by his gracious hosts. It wasn’t his fault, or his host’s; it’s just the way it is.

 

The quote succinctly describes the quandary facing Western man as he is expected to absorb – with absolutely no say in the matter – millions of people from faraway lands with very distinct and different backgrounds. Although it has become politically impolite to even raise the question, can people with dramatically different religions, cultures, manners and language find any real sense of β€˜home’ amongst those who could be considered β€˜blood strangers’?

 

The conversation in the book turned to the German philosopher, Johann Gottfried Herder (1704-1803), who is said to have anticipated later luminaries, including Fichte, Hegel, Otto von Bismarck and many others. So what could a man who lived over 200 years ago possibly teach modern men in these turbulent times? As it turns out quite a lot.

 

Herder was one of the first thinkers to acknowledge that belonging to a community or tribe is a basic human requirement, just as vital as eating, drinking and shelter. And as it turns out, full membership in the tribe has its privileges.

 

As Berlin explained, β€œFor [Herder] β€˜to belong’ means that people understand what you say without your having to embark on explanations, that your gestures, words, all that enters into communication, is grasped, without mediation by the members of your society.”

I think about the stock market often, though I don't have any money in it. A company I used to work for (3M) is listed, however.

 

I do wonder about this. A crash would be devastating and you can imagine how many people have retirement funds caught up in the market.

 

I think for the sake of "normies" it's been necessary to have some indicators such as employment look good. The employment picture genuinely seems better. However, the underpinnings of the stock market seem much more dubious.

 

I'm hoping/thinking that as DS corruption is removed we will see some sort of action to reset our money (gold standard again, perhaps?). Some of our corporations are pretty messed up (Monsanto, Merck for examples) and might just get sued out of existence, imo. Perhaps we will have opportunity to reclaim some of our wealth and put it elsewhere.

Fast forward just three days later, when said failure-cum-bailout is now official: three months after Baoshang Bank was seized by the government in a historic first, Bank of Jinzhou was just bailed out, winning government-backed "reinforcement" on Sunday as three state-controlled financial institutions said they would take at least 17.3% in the troubled lender, whose shares have been suspended since April.

 

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the country’s largest lender by assets, China Cinda Asset Management and China Great Wall Asset Management, two of China’s four largest distressed debt managers, said on Sunday they would take stakes in Bank of Jinzhou, Reuters reports.

 

To avoid further repo market lockups and freezing in the interbank funding market where in a freak incident, the Chinese government bond repo rate last Friday shot up to a whopping 1,000%…

There was already some demand to short the stocks in the first week.

 

Three more firms will begin subscriptions for share sales this week, while Northeast Securities Co. analyst Fu Lichun estimates about 200 companies will be trading after 12 months. Initial public offerings on the Star market are attractive to mainland investors and companies alike because firms are free to set their own valuations and there are no price limits in the first week of trading. Starting the sixth day, moves are subject to a 20% daily cap.

Semiconductor manufacturer Anji Microelectronics Technology (Shanghai) Co. is down 10% in the four days since its 400% first-day jump. The biggest stock on the board, China Railway Signal & Communication Corp., has lost 18% after doubling last Monday.

 

The massive first-day gains also spurred demand to borrow shares – a tool often used to bet prices will decline. The Star market is less restrictive than other venues on this practice, allowing some institutional investors to lend their holdings to brokers. For six of the firms, there were more shares on loan than there were purchased on leverage, according to Bloomberg-compiled data as of July 25.

Anons, today I received a text message from someone that was in my contact list. I answered it; but, today I talked to this person and was told they had not sent me a text and actually showed me their phone and messages.

 

This happened to me years ago, but was a phone call. When I answered they asked me if I wanted to sign up for a class at a community college. I was shocked it wasn't the person I expected it to be and I asked them how they were able to call from one of my contacts. They immediately hung up.
