was gone—shuttled away by the drug rapist. Or consider the friends who noticed that one lady was

suddenly acting very sexual and weird. It was time to take her home but she wanted to go to the

bathroom, so they told her to go and then they would leave. By herself? Hey, you already realized

something was WRONG with her!! She headed toward the bathroom, alone, never to return to her

friends. She was walked out the back door by the drug rapist.

The Flight 93 Speaker Series continues this month with four special guests on Saturday and Sunday as the memorial highlights the role of ambassadors, who will share stories of volunteering at the Flight 93 National Memorial.

During this installment of the Speaker Series, the guests will include the first ambassadors who helped develop the volunteer entity as it is known today, and delve into the stories about the site in the immediate aftermath of the crash of United Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001.

These ambassadors have a direct tie to the temporary memorials. The volunteers will highlight pictures and stories from the chain-link fence temporary memorial to coincide with a special exhibit, “Memories from the Memorial — Looking Back 2001-2011.”

Three sessions, free and open to the public, will be held at noon and 2 p.m. Saturday and noon only on Sunday in the memorial’s Learning Center.

Scientists at Texas A&M University have found a way to intersperse gold atoms with other atoms in the long molecular chains that make up polymers. By bubbling gas through the gold polymer, it can be expanded into a light foam that reportedly shows great promise as a shielding agent against neutrons and other types of radiation.

Dr. John Fackler, director of the program, said the new polymer combines gold with triphenylphosphine, a compound of carbon, hydrogen and phosphorus, in a form that may be suitable for making anti-radiation garments.

The polymer is 11 percent gold by weight, and the gold atoms in the substance efficiently scatter or absorb most forms of radiation, including X-rays. Chemically incorporated into a polymer, gold is less poisonous than other heavy metals that also block radiation. (Metallic gold is not poisonous, but when incorporated into compounds it may be.) Dr. Fackler said that because gold is chemically very stable, it tends to revert to its native state from some of the compounds it forms. We often have trouble with shiny, yellow metallic gold precipitating out of liquid compounds - just what refiners want, but the opposite of what we want, he said.

The gold polymer the Texas group has developed looks like plain white plastic, Dr. Fackler said, but it emits a yellowish glow when exposed to ultraviolet light.

Vietnam seizes 125 kg of rhino horns, seven tiger carcasses

HANOI (Reuters) - Vietnam said it has seized more than 125 kg (275 lb) of rhino horns hidden in plaster blocks and shipped from United Arab Emirates, the latest large-scale wildlife trafficking case in Southeast Asia.

The rhino horns were discovered earlier this week at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport in cargo that arrived on an Etihad Airways flight, the customs department said in a statement.

Trade in rhino horns, which is believed to have medicinal value, is illegal in Vietnam. The country is also a destination for other illegal wildlife products such as pangolin scales and elephant ivory.

Separately, police in Vietnam earlier this week arrested three men for transporting seven frozen tiger carcasses from Laos to Hanoi, state media reported.

That comes after authorities in Singapore last week said they seized a record haul of 8.8 tonnes of ivory headed to Vietnam that came from nearly 300 African elephants.

Tom Hanks Talks About Vacation With Barack Obama

Tom Hanks finally opened up about his fabulous vacation with President Barack Obama, because Tom Hanks gives the people what we want, dammit.

Hanks casually hung out on a yacht in French Polynesia with Barack and Michelle along with Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Springsteen last month. I'm assuming my invitation got lost in the mail.

Obviously everyone has been dying to know what exactly went down on that star-packed trip.

Thankfully, Hanks is there to fill us in.

He spoke about the Obama yacht vacation on "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert.

Although he was frustrated that low-key folks like himself, the Obamas and Oprah couldn't just go on a fancy vacation without everyone finding out, he joked, Hanks said the trip was amazing.

"Imagine what it could've been like – triple it," Hanks admitted. "It was off-the-scales fantastic"

He added that "every day is just like crazy 'Love Boat,' Sandals resort fantastic." OK, Tom, we get it.

But though most of the vacation was fantastic, Hanks said he got "screwed" at one point – "in the bad way, in the pejorative way, not in the delightful way."

At one point on the trip, the crew decides to rent some bikes. Aside from the celebs, Secret Service needed bicycles to follow them.

Hanks told the story,

There were some great bikes there, there were some just fine and dandy bikes, and there was one piece of junk, hunk of junk bike. Who do you think got the piece of junk, hunk of junk bike?

Meanwhile, Hanks said, the Secret Service got cool, sleek bikes with bells and leather seats and streamers and everything.

It was not an enjoyable ride for Hanks.

Overall, the trip was a suitably humbling experience for the legendary actor.

Surrounded by other legends, Hanks said he felt "very low on the food chain on that one."

So now we know how to make Tom Hanks feel bad: surround him with the only four people more famous than him in the world.

Unfortunately, Hanks said he couldn't get any government secrets out of Obama, so it doesn't seem like they bonded as much as one could fantasize.

I have a link to a Cleveland Clinic piece on "Factitious Disorder imposed on Another" which used to be called Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.

Very interestingly this condition is not associated with a desire for financial gain (which would be a potentially "understandable" motive, imo) but seems to be associated, if I understand correctly, with emotional gratification of some type including maybe getting a social reputation as a good caregiver.

Now compare this condition with the story of Janene Jones, a serial killer who was convicted of a couple of murders but who may have actually killed many more small children.

I don't have an expectation that Trump or most of the people in his administration would have an understanding of the entire (true) picture of what is going on with GMOs, pesticides and etc. Besides, cleaning out the justice system and getting rid of pedophiles and other corrupt people in the political system is necessary to continue the "house cleaning". However, it does bother me that we are shipping overseas products that are so bad, imo, that I won't eat them myself. A lot of the soy might go to feeding hogs, but even that can have downstream negative effects on human beings.
