Stella's plausible manner and hard-to-place European accent convinced the actress that she was Diana Filip, an executive from London asset management firm Reuben Capital Partners, who wanted to invite McGowan to speak at a gala dinner.

 

Over the course of several months, 'Diana' inveigled her way into the Scream star's life. Whether McGowan was in California or New York, Diana always seemed to be conveniently nearby.

 

They met for long walks, drinks and girls' nights out. McGowan even told her 'there was no one else in the world she could trust'.

 

But it was all a con. Just like Anna, Diana was merely a cover dreamed up by Stella, a spy working for the infamous Mossad-linked Israeli intelligence company Black Cube.

 

Weinstein had hired the firm in the months before his career and reputation were ruined by a welter of sexual allegations.

A lot of my newer followers seem to be very anxious to persuade the world of some—let’s just say—very striking and ambitious claims. I’m halfway there but unlikely to get much farther without help.

 

I need evidence; most do this wrong.

First of all, if you want to persuade the world e.g. that the elite are Satanists, or Soros controls everything, or mass murders are committed by MK-Ultra slaves, you have three problems. (1) You need to explain, in detail, what the hell such vague claims mean. Do you even know?

(2) You need to anticipate and defuse some rather obvious objections to those claims. (3) You need to give specific evidence and not go farther than the evidence. If you do, that is when ppl (understandably!) will accuse you of being nuts.

I know very well that there are vast amounts of research behind some claims. Great.

 

But you know what I have never seen despite it being kinda obvious?

 

A long collection of brief, narrowly-focused claims together with links to documents purporting to support them.

 

Why not?

Partly it must be because it would be hard work. That’s what real research notes look like.

 

Look, if one hard-working, well-informed person spent a few weeks, or several people spent several days in collaboration, they could make a long, exhaustive, structured, fact-filled…

More Than 40 Acts of Violence Against Trump Supporters So Far This Year on College Campuses

 

Part 1

 

If you ventured to any campus that is overwrought with vocal, fringe leftists, they’d regale you with how dangerous anyone right of center is.

 

You’ve heard the names and insults thrown frivolously toward those attending conservative speaking events or who happen to be donning the MAGA hat: bigot, racist, xenophobe, nazi, white nationalist; not to mention the lemmings gathering around to chant “shame”.

 

Yet since 2016, there have been 117 acts of reported violence and harassment committed against conservatives on college campuses. Within the last few months, 41 of those 117 have occurred, meaning the aggressors are getting bolder and more brazen.

 

In some cases, it’s the faculty that are to blame whereas most instances you can point towards a fringe element of the student body as being responsible. In some cases, albeit rare ones, even teachers and faculty members that lean right of center have been the victims of the hostility created by the Antifa-esque student body.

 

Another worrisome aspect to consider is that this behavior is making its way into high schools as well.

 

We’ll take a look into some of the acts perpetrated over the last six months so as to illustrate what it means to be a conservative on campus in 2019.

 

Just eight days ago, Chico State protester took a sign from a conservative student and struck him in the face with it.

 

Then on November 19th, far-left protesters managed to shut down Art Laffer’s planned speech at Binghamton University.

 

Just one day prior to that, a mob of leftist students surrounded and harassed members of College Republicans and Turning Point USA at the very same college where Laffer planned to speak.

 

November was filled with all sorts of far-left lunacy, including when a North Carolina State University student sprayed paint into the face of Rep. Dan Bishop’s son Jack Bishop.

 

Of course, this was the same university that had a teaching assistant earlier in the month compare conservatism to “white supremacy”.

 

Then on November 8th, some University of Florida students demanded the impeachment of the student body president over a visit by Donald Trump Jr. to campus.

 

November’s icing on the cake is non other than Pacific Lutheran professor Troy Storfjell, who stated: “I have no problem” with Antifa violence.

 

October was inundated with incidents as well where on the 31st we saw a University of Michigan student dismantles an entire Turning Point USA recruiting table and steal all of the group’s supplies, including their snacks.

 

The day before at the University of California Riverside, some student destroyed a conservative group’s sign promoting the Second Amendment.

 

The tolerance didn’t end there in October as on 22nd some University of New Hampshire students destroyed a Turning Point USA display and then one said “I hope you die” to the conservatives.

 

On October 21st some University of Minnesota Duluth student admitted to tearing down Turning Point USA posters of an advertised event they disagreed with.

 

Three days prior to that, some leftist students stole a Michigan State pro-life display.

 

October was a real active month for those who despise conservatives, as we also saw a man steal some Turning Point USA signs at UNLV and punched them into a trash can.

 

The on the 11th, a student covered the University of Wisconsin college GOP office with accusations of racism.

 

Seven days before that, a student was arrested for attacking conservatives on University of Nevada, Reno campus; while on the same day some Georgia Tech students called for the university president’s firing over supporting Kavanaugh. Quite an active month for those who #Resist.

 

September wasn’t far removed from October either, as on the 30th the University of Minnesota College Republicans’ mural was vandalized for a fourth straight year.

 

On September 24th, the Colorado State University president compared the organization Turning Point USA to blackface and swastikas.

 

The day before at the University of Maryland, students act as “Free Speech Zone” police by stealing conservative signage and running away.

 

That very same day, someone dressed as a clown shut down a Georgetown College Republicans event. On the 19th, someone really upped the ante as there was a man arrested for a bomb threat at a pro-life event at Rochester Community and Technical College.

 

Also, on the 19th, some conservative students were harassed at Irvine Valley College by students, as well as adults who appear to be professors.

 

Seven days before that at the University of Maryland, an official accused conservative activists of “trespassing”.

 

We also saw in September when Jones County Junior College faced a lawsuit after threatening students with arrest for exercising their First Amendment rights on campus.

Police were used as a means of intimidation as well at the University of Wisconsin when an official told a conservative student to move or the police will be called. Of course there was always that College of Charleston professor who celebrated the death of their political opponents.

 

On August 22nd, University of Kentucky staffers mocked and elongated the application process for a conservative club on campus.

 

Then on August 19th, a University of Houston student leader apologized after defending free speech, because his defense created calls for his removal.

 

Then the NC State Vice Chancellor Mike Mullen resigned on August 16th after calling the GOP “Neo-Nazis” and “KKK,” but still somehow remains a professor.

 

Mullen must have been following the trend set the day before by instructor Alex Wild from the University of Texas, who said Trump and his supporters are Nazis.

 

July saw its fair share of activity as well, when Ole Miss professor James Thomas compared pro-Trump teenagers to young Hitlers.

 

In UC Santa Barbara, a teaching assistant was under fire for simply saying that men are not women.

 

On July 11th, we saw a woman assault a pro-life activist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

 

Don’t forget the time when a conservative student was assaulted at Bentley University while promoting a Tomi Lahren event.

 

Then there was the Colorado State professor Oi Yan Poon who said “I’m ready to punch” political opponents “in the neck”.

 

Of course, we wouldn’t have a proper Fourth of July without a student attacked for a MAGA hat which happened at the University of Florida.

 

The Che Guevara enthusiasts were busy in June too, while on the 23rd, far left students at the University of Texas at Austin threatened to dox students for joining conservative groups on campus.

 

On the 20th, Whatcom Community College student destroyed a pro-life display, saying they did it “because I disagree”.

 

The University of Illinois faced a lawsuit in June for allegedly installing a campus “Speech Police” system.

 

Then on the 10th, students at Georgia Gwinnett College wanted a legal immigrant professor fired for criticizing illegal immigration.

 

On the 7th, a man was arrested after attempting to chain the doors to University of Washington conservative event.

 

I worry just how much worse college will become for those anywhere right of center. Parents, and young students, give great thought before deciding on which school to join to further your education.

 

The more these environments are funded, the more they believe that they’re doing the “right thing”. Yet, if you’re at a school at loathes your perspective, never allow intimidation to halter you from expressing your views.

Dozens of people have been arrested in Utah County, Utah, following an operation targeting human trafficking, KSL-TV reports.

Operation Underground Railroad, a nonprofit organization that fights human trafficking, worked alongside several law enforcement agencies, including the Utah County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit, Lehi City Police Department, and the Department of Homeland Security, to conduct a human trafficking operation Utah County, Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon said in a news release.

The operation was conducted between November 19th-21st, with 26 people being arrested in total.

Shane Smith, 26, was also arrested during the course of the operation for investigation of enticement of a minor over the internet and attempted aggravated kidnapping of a minor, according to Cannon.

Several victims have been identified and are being given assistance.

Two high profile lawyers representing victims of Jeffrey Epstein are said to have been duped into planning to cut deals with famous men they believed had been caught on secret cameras having sex with girls at the pedophile's homes.

 

David Boies and John Stanley Pottinger met with a man who claimed to have damming footage of high profile names, including Prince Andrew and Israeli former prime minister Ehud Barak, according to The New York Times.

 

The so-called whistleblower, who used the pseudonym Patrick Kessler, also told the two attorneys he had evidence of Epstein's financial records on encrypted servers overseas.

 

Pottinger appears to have discussed taking 40 percent of any settlements resulting from the promised footage. The New York Times also says he spoke of representing the wealthy men. The tapes appear to have been a scam.

 

Epstein died in his jail cell in August in what was ruled a suicide by hanging by the New York medical examiner. At the time of his death, Epstein was awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges.

 

The New York Times alleges Pottinger described two scenarios to Kessler - one where any settlement would be split between victims, a charitable foundation, the whistleblower and the lawyers.

 

He also described a second scheme in which attorneys would be hired by the accused men who would 'make a contribution to a nonprofit as part of the retainer' in return for not getting sued. Pottinger said it would have to be 'consistent with and subject to rules of ethics'.

 

He also seemed to push Kessler to find files regarding a 'hot list' of men the attorneys hoped to approach.

 

Publicly Bois has called such deals 'rich man's justice.'

 

Boies told the paper: 'This was explosive information if true, for lots and lots of people.' He said their interactions with Kessler did not cross ethical lines and denied they would have made secret settlements that buried any wrongdoing.

 

He later said of Pottinger's claims: 'Having looked at all that stuff in context, I would not have said that. I'm being cautious not to throw him under the bus more than I believe is accurate.'

 

Pottinger said: 'Our clients are said to be liars and prostitutes and we now have someone who says, 'I can give you secret photographic proof of abuse that will completely change the entire fabric of your practice and get justice for these girls.' And you think that we wouldn't try to get that?'

 

He said he had been 'misleading Kessler deliberately in order to get the servers', adding: 'I'm building legal cases here. I'm trying not to engage too much in shenanigans. I wish I didn't, but this guy was very unusual.'

 

DailyMail.com has contacted Boies and Pottinger for comment. All the men accused of featuring in the sham videos deny engaging in sexual activity in Epstein's homes.

 

The existence of tape would support the theory that Epstein may have been blackmailing people who engaged in illegal behavior at his homes.

 

Alleged victim Maria Farmer told CBS the late pedophile kept surveillance camera footage of some of the rooms inside his Manhattan mansion and that he stored it in a safe.

 

In July this year, the FBI raided Epstein's home and authorities described finding passports, cash and diamonds, in a locked safe inside but there has never been any mention of surveillance footage of what went on in the property.

 

In her interview, Farmer described being horrified when Epstein revealed to her a 'media room' which had TVs set up with feeds from pin-hole surveillance cameras in the bedrooms and bathrooms of his home.

 

'It was all videoed all the time. I asked him, 'What do you do with all this?'

 

'And he said 'I keep it. I keep it all in my safe.''

 

Many alleged victims have since launched lawsuits against Epstein's estate in pursuit of the justice they say his suicide or murder robbed them of.

Why all this talk, talk, talk and nobody DOES anything?

 

This is a problem that was solved when CAT scans, Computerized Axial Tomography, was invented. Basically you can unblur a blurry image when you know what physical processes (in physics) are involved in causing the blurring. It is easier if you have multiple blurry views of the same objects, but you can still do something with one image.

 

But that requires someone to get the software and try it. Or find someone with the software and ask them to try it. Or find an expert in image processing (maybe in the film industry) and ask them to suggest someone who could help with unblurring a reflection to identify the object in the blurry image.

 

Zooming in and staring at it will not cut it. Q is trying to teach us how to use all the tools of open source intelligence gathering and analysis. So let's get to it and stop being couch potatoes.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee National Guard unit is deploying more than 100 soldiers to the American naval base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba this winter.

The guard said the soldiers are assigned to the Dyersburg-based 168th Military Police Battalion.

They have been training for a year to prepare for the yearlong deployment. A guard statement says the soldiers will replace the Army Reserves’ 382nd Military Police Battalion from Westover, Massachusetts. The 168th will be supporting police and security operations.

Let a 50-mile wide swath of land extend all the way across the border; keep it surveiled and patrolled; hell, mine it, electrify it and a great peace would take place in America as security at the Southern border will have been achieved.

 

Or the Mexican President can grow a pair, along with the rest of the Mexican government. What's more important to them? Peace and national prosperity or a fat personal bank account for him and his family and friends? Where are the patriots in Mexico?

Inequal responses of drylands to radiative forcing geoengineering methods

Abstract

 

Climate geoengineering has the potential to reduce global warming. However, the nonlinear responses of Earth's large‐scale circulation to climate geoengineering can exacerbate regional climate change, with potential inequality risks. We show noticeable inequality in the responses of drylands when three radiative forcing geoengineering (RFG) methodologies – cirrus cloud thinning (CCT), marine sky brightening (MSB), and stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI) – individually reduce the radiative forcing of the Representative Concentration Pathway 8.5 (RCP8.5) scenario using a set of the Norwegian Earth system model (NorESM1‐ME) experiments. In North America, CCT and SAI alleviate drylands expansion, whereas, drylands expand further under MSB. CCT induces significantly wetter conditions over the western Sahel. Wetting over Australia is enhanced and prevented by MSB and SAI, respectively. Our results suggest spatially inequal distributions of benefits and harms of individual RFGs on the projected distribution of drylands, which should be considered before any real‐world application of such RFGs.

Plain Language Summary

 

Climate geoengineering has the potential to reduce global warming levels significantly, according to modelling experiments. However, regional impacts of individual climate geoengineering methods are inequal, raising concerns about fairness of negative side effects of such methods. Here, impacts of climate geoengineering on the global distribution of drylands are projected using an Earth system model, NorESM1‐ME. Three geoengineering methods are adopted: cirrus cloud thinning (CCT), marine sky brightening (MSB), and stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI). All methods commonly reduce about 2 °C of global warming in the late 21st century relative to the high CO2 emission scenario, Representative Concentration Pathway 8.5. Drylands respond differently to individual methods, especially in North America, the western Sahel, and Australia. In North America, CCT and SAI alleviate drylands expansion, whereas, the expansion of drylands is intensified under MSB. CCT notably reduces drylands expansion over the western Sahel. The reduction of drylands in Australia is enhanced by MSB due to atmospheric circulation changes, but prevented by SAI. Our results suggest that climate geoengineering can exacerbate drylands expansion in some regions despite potential alleviation in other regions. Such inequalities should be considered if RFGs for real‐world applications to mitigate global warming were ever to be considered.

A Murdered Central Banker’s Warning Changed Everything for SEB

 

Not all money laundering scandals are equal.

 

When the world learned that billions in dirty funds had flowed through Danske Bank A/S and Swedbank AB, it proved disastrous for the two lenders. But when SEB AB was accused of similar offenses, people were more forgiving.

The difference can be traced back to a single point in time. SEB’s chief executive officer, Johan Torgeby, says his bank made a clear choice back in 2006. That’s when SEB started to tackle the kind of non-resident flows that have been at the epicenter of every Nordic-Baltic laundering scandal. Torgeby says SEB’s choices are largely thanks to a dead central banker from Russia.

SEB, like Swedbank, is based in Stockholm. Together, the two dominate the Baltic banking market in which large-scale money laundering is alleged to have taken place. For Russian criminals eager to get their funds to the West, the setup was perfect, providing access to some of the world’s most respected lenders via a region that was geographically close and familiar.

 

In 2006, SEB received a warning from Andrei Kozlov, a deputy chairman of Russia’s central bank who was visiting Estonia. Kozlov made clear that the Baltic region was being used as a conduit for money launderers. Oligarchs and criminals from the former Soviet Union were systematically targeting the region to channel questionable funds into the West. Once there, the money would be plowed into luxury real estate, yachts, fur coats and even private school tuition.

 

“Three days after Kozlov, we started to work with police,” Torgeby said in an interview.

 

Not long after he visited Estonia, Kozlov was shot dead. A subsequent trial attributed the murder to bankers angered by his efforts to fight money laundering.

 

The warning from Kozlov “was a really important event,” Torgeby said. It “kind of kick-started what we today would call the modern way of trying to limit risks associated with money laundering.”

 

SEB is still trying to figure out what went on over a decade ago, and is still going through “a lot of documents” from 2005 and 2006, he said. Management is “trying to do a forensic review of what happened 15 years ago.”

 

According to ABG Sundal Collier, the decline in SEB’s non-resident flows after 2006 show it was serious about trying to stop criminals from using its Estonian unit. ABG says that should limit the risk of costly probes and “huge fines.”

 

SEB was founded in 1856 by the Wallenberg family, which owns large chunks of corporate Sweden. The Wallenbergs were quick to throw their support behind the lender after it emerged that about $30 billion in non-resident Estonian flows were exposed to the risk of money laundering. Swedish media also claim that about $50 million that moved through SEB can be linked to Russian tax fraud that Sergei Magnitsky died trying to investigate. Magnitsky was the lawyer of Hermitage Capital Management co-founder Bill Browder, who has made it his mission to chase down those tied to the case.

 

To be sure, the $30 billion in suspicious flows that SEB itself identified may well be enough to attract the attention of U.S. investigators, according to Elliott Stein, senior litigation analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence in New York.

 

“The key question will be how much of that touched the U.S. financial system via SEB,” he said. “The possibility that U.S. sanctions may have been violated also increases the likelihood that the U.S. would be interested.”

 

But SEB’s decision to quell the flow of suspicious transactions well over a decade ago may influence how the U.S. responds.

 

“The statute of limitations is five years for money laundering but if earlier transactions are considered to be part of the same scheme as later transactions, they might be considered part of a continuing offense, which would essentially make the statute of limitations issue moot,” Stein said. “But if the bank took steps to stop the activity by 2017, that could help mitigate a penalty.”
