One person is dead and several are injured following a head-on crash involving a charter bus carrying Covington Catholic students, Campbell County police said.

 

The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of the AA Highway at California Crossroads in Campbell County.

According to witnesses on the scene, a southbound car somehow entered the northbound lanes of the highway, striking the charter bus head-on.

 

"I saw a car come across the median and head toward me," said Ricky Lynn, a witness who was also driving north. "I was able to get out of the way."

 

The driver of the wrong-way car was pronounced dead at the scene. That driver's name has not been released.

 

Two people on the bus were taken to area hospitals for treatment, and others suffered minor injuries. The motor coach driver suffered a minor knee injury, the bus company said.

 

The bus was full of Covington Catholic High School students and several parent chaperones, who were returning from the March for Life rally in Washington. The bus was one of four in a caravan, carrying a total of about 200 passengers.

 

The front passenger side of the bus was badly damaged in the crash, and the children onboard used emergency exit windows to escape.

 

Parents say a priest with the Archdiocese of Covington was also among the caravan, and performed a final blessing over the driver of the car killed in the crash.

 

A statement from the Archdiocese reads, "This morning, a bus carrying students and chaperones home from the March for Life in Washington, DC was involved in an accident. EMT personnel and the Campbell County police have been at the scene and are handling the matter. Please join us in praying for everyone involved in this accident."

 

All northbound lanes and one southbound lane of the AA Highway are shut down.

Bus Carrying Covington Catholic Students Leaving March for Life Involved in Deadly Crash

 

A bus carrying Covington Catholic students who attended the March for Life in DC was involved in a deadly crash on Saturday morning.

 

One of the mothers of a student who was involved in the viral incident between students and a Native American activist last year told the Gateway Pundit that the bus carrying the students was hit head on. She said that a teacher was injured, a student had a bloody nose and the driver of the other vehicle died.

 

None of the students were seriously injured, but the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name has not yet been publicly released.

 

The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. in California, Kentucky.

 

WLWT reports, “according to witnesses on the scene, a southbound car somehow entered the northbound lanes of the highway, striking the charter bus head-on.”

 

“I saw a car come across the median and head toward me,” Ricky Lynn, a witness who was also driving north, told WLWT. “I was able to get out of the way.”

 

The Archdiocese of Covington was in the caravan of four busses carrying students and chaperones, and performed a final blessing over the deceased driver.

 

“This morning, a bus carrying students and chaperones home from the March for Life in Washington, DC was involved in an accident. EMT personnel and the Campbell County police have been at the scene and are handling the matter. Please join us in praying for everyone involved in this accident,” the Archdiocese said in a statement.

 

Students from Covington were badly slandered by the media during the March for Life last year, when they were bullied by adult activists. CNN has settled a lawsuit with student Nick Sandmann, but the amount of the settlement was concealed from the public.

The Third International, also known as the Communist International (COMINTERN), existed between 1919 and 1943 to battle against the forces of fascism that took hold in Europe, Asia, and Latin America following World War I. It replaced the Second International, formed in Paris in 1889 among world socialist and labor parties. The Second International was replaced in 1923 by the Labor and Socialist International (LSI), representing many of the world’s social democratic parties. Infighting between the Third International and LSI resulted in the international left being unprepared to deal with the rise of the fascist Axis Powers.

 

When the Third International and LSI finally decided to cooperate against the fascist forces involved in the Spanish Civil War from 1936 to 1939, it was too late. With only the Soviet Union, Mongolia, and Tannu Tuva as members of the Third International and Leon Trotsky forming the rival Fourth International in 1938 in France, the fracturing of the world’s leftist forces resulted in the fascist Axis seizing control of most of Europe and a large part of Asia. The Third International suspended operations in 1943 and the LSI collapsed in 1940.

 

Trotskyists showed themselves all too willing to accommodate fascist forces, particularly during the Spanish Civil War, to isolate the Soviet Union. The deception of the Trotskyists led to the motto, “Never trust a Trot,” being heard at progressive political and labor gatherings around Europe, Australia, and North America.

 

Today, the progressive and democratic forces around the world face a situation not seen since the 1930s in Europe and Asia. Global fascism is on the march and the left is found engaged in factionalized rivalry in the face of a united neo-Axis front not seen since the 1930s.

 

The schism between so-called “Independent Socialist” 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders and traditional pro-labor Democratic candidates like former Vice President Joe Biden is the result of nothing more than a continuation of the Trotskyist program to divide and conquer social democratic and labor forces, even if such disruption aids the rise of fascist totalitarian regimes. The history of such Trotskyist maneuvers, including the back-to-back presidential bids of Sanders, a committed Socialist Worker’s Party member and Trotskyist until 1992 when he supported his first Democratic candidate for the White House, opens the door for fascist takeovers. Sanders’s present campaign to divide and conquer the Democratic Party, of which he is not a member, ushers into possibility a fascist government coming into existence in a second Trump administration. Where will Bernie Sanders be then? Maybe, like his hero Trotsky, he might find asylum beyond the “Southern Wall” in Mexico.

New research provides more evidence that hormonal birth control pills can negatively impact women’s cognitive performance. The study, published in the journal Hormones and Behavior, found that women taking contraceptive pills tend to have reduced perseverance when completing both simple and complex cognitive tasks.

“My colleagues and I first became interested in this topic after learning that women taking hormonal contraceptives don’t experience a spike in cortisol that is typically found after one encounters a stressor. While people usually talk about cortisol as a bad thing, this cortisol spike allows people to adequately meet challenges in their environment,” explained Hannah K. Bradshaw (@HKBradshaw), a PhD candidate in Experimental Psychology at Texas Christian University and corresponding author of the study.

“After we started looking through the literature, we also found that, compared to non-users, women taking hormonal contraceptives exhibit decrements in brain areas that play an important role in learning, attention, and memory.”

“For instance, compared to non-users, women taking hormonal contraceptives have decreased hippocampal volume. This led us to wonder whether hormonal contraceptive use is associated with differences in perseverance and performance on simple and challenging cognitive tasks that one might encounter in their day-to-day lives.”

In two studies, 324 female undergraduates completed various cognitive tests as the researchers timed them. Roughly half of the participants had been on hormonal birth control for at least two months, while the remainder had not used hormonal birth control for at least three months.

In the first study, participants completed a simple spot-the-difference task in which they were shown two similar images and asked to find 10 subtle differences. In the second study, participants completed more complex mathematical problems and word scramble problems from the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) test.

The researchers found that women on hormonal birth control tended to spend less time on the problems, which in turn was associated with their relatively worse performance on all of the cognitive tasks.

“The major takeaway here is that hormonal contraceptive use carries a myriad of consequences beyond mere pregnancy prevention; additional research is desperately needed to more fully understand what these consequences may be.”

The findings may have important implications for women, but the real-world impact of decreased perseverance is unclear. Future research is needed to help “understand how hormonal contraceptive use might influence women’s perseverance in their education, careers, and relationships,” Bradshaw said.

“My colleagues and I don’t have an anti-birth control agenda. By enabling women to take control of their fertility, hormonal contraceptives have helped women meet their educational and career goals,” she added.

“However, it’s important that we understand the unintended consequences associated with hormonal contraceptive use. Millions of women worldwide take hormonal contraceptives. While several women complain about negative emotional and mental side effects, their concerns are largely written off. We need to be less cavalier with women’s health and women’s hormones.”

Mosul, Epicenter of ISIS Conflict, is a Devastated Iraqi City

 

As Iraq this month faces the threat of new conflicts — including a proxy war between the U.S. and Iran — the shadow of the last conflict runs long.

 

Two years ago, the Iraqi prime minister declared victory over ISIS, but parts of Ninewa and Anbar are still in ruins, some 1.5 million people remain displaced and families have only begun to grieve for the tens of thousands killed.

 

Nowhere is this devastation more apparent than in Mosul, Iraq’s second city and the epicenter of the ISIS conflict. The World Bank has estimated that losses to the Mosul housing sector alone are estimated at $6 billion.

 

And as revealed in a new report from the Ceasefire Centre for Civilian Rights and Minority Rights Group International, 35,000 claims for reparation for deaths, injury or destruction of property have now been lodged by victims of the ISIS occupation and the “liberation” battle.

 

Interviews with civilians on the ground uncover a complex picture of loss and abandonment. The population who suffered under the occupation feel they were doubly punished by the devastating conflict waged to end it. Yazidis, Christians and other minorities who were forced to flee still remain largely displaced, despairing at the fact that no-one has been brought to justice for the crimes committed against them.

 

In such circumstances, individual reparations are essential, not least for reconciliation, a concept much-invoked by international missions in Iraq but rarely specified. Without formal recognition for the loss they have suffered and practical help to rebuild, civilians cannot move on.

 

As one interviewee explained: “The compensation payments will never bring me back the loved ones I lost, nor will they allow me to rebuild my house as if nothing happened. But they will help us all to rebuild the city and bring back life into it.”

 

But among those claiming reparations, long-standing frustration is turning into growing resentment. The claims have been made under Iraq’s Law 20 which established a system for awarding compensation to ‘the victims of military operations, military mistakes and terrorist actions.

 

Over 420 billion Iraqi dinars ($355 million) has been awarded under the scheme since it was first established 10 years ago, but it has been overwhelmed by the scale of claims from the ISIS conflict. Claimants in Mosul complain of cumbersome bureaucratic procedures and pay-outs are agonizingly slow.

 

Meanwhile, the U.S.-led Coalition against ISIS appears to have washed its hands of responsibility. During the nine-month battle the Coalition supported Iraqi forces mainly from the air, and it was Coalition bombardment which, along with ISIS vehicle-borne IEDs, was responsible for most of the material destruction of the city.

 

The monitoring group Airwars has conservatively estimated that between 1,066 and 1,579 civilians were killed by Coalition air and artillery strikes during the battle for Mosul. Local estimates are much higher. The Coalition describes all civilian deaths caused by its action as ‘unintentional’ and refuses to accept any liability for violations for which reparations should be paid.

The 777X will compete with the recently introduced Airbus A350-1000 which seats about 360 passengers. Both reflect the growing range and efficiency of twin-engined jets that are steadily displacing their older four-engined counterparts.

 

The two planemakers have clashed over the relative efficiency of their latest jets but both face worries about demand due to overcapacity and signs of weakness in the global economy.

They argue that Trump doesn't even trust his how intelligence agencies as if he handpicked every single person in every intelligence agency. Even if Democrats disagree with the decisions the president has made, Trump's defense team on Saturday reminded senators that policy disagreements are not impeachable offenses. "In his summation on Thursday night, [impeachment] manager Schiff complained that the president chose not to go with the determination of his intelligence agencies regarding foreign interference and, instead, decided he would listen to people that he trusted and would inquire about the Ukraine issue himself," Jay Sekulow said on the Senate floor. "Mr. Schiff did not like the fact that the president did not apparently blindly trust some of the advice he was being given by the intelligence agencies."

 

"First of all, let me be clear: disagreeing with the president's decision on foreign policy matters or whose advice he's going to take is in no way an impeachable offense," Sekulow said.

 

As Katie pointed out during a segment on Fox, President Trump had no reason to trust the intelligence agencies. Schiff made the argument that Trump failed to listen to the various intelligence agencies less than 24 hours after it was determined that the FISA warrants that were issued against former Trump campaign aide Carter Page were invalid. The FBI repeatedly falsified and omitted information in order to get a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign. Knowing this, why would President Trump believe every single piece of so-called "advice" he was given?

Then there's the latest new definition of antisemitism that is being pushed on everyone.– this one put out by an organization called the 'International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.' This is a globalist group that started up in Sweden (ostensibly) in 1998, for the purpose of “expanding Holocaust education worldwide.” This is their non-legally binding working definition of antisemitism:

Does this clarify anything? No, it does not. What is it's purpose? I don't know but it is currently being pushed in the UK with the help of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. It goes on to explain:

 

Manifestations might include the targeting of the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity. However, criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as antisemitic. Antisemitism frequently charges Jews with conspiring to harm humanity, and it is often used to blame Jews for “why things go wrong.” It is expressed in speech, writing, visual forms and action, and employs sinister stereotypes and negative character traits.

 

Further specific definitions include:

 

Antisemitic discrimination is the denial to Jews of opportunities or services available to others and is illegal in many countries.

 

Just this month, the Slovenian delegation to the IHRA issued a public statement condemning an incident of Holocaust denial – in late April Bernard Brščič "denied the Holocaust" in a TV interview. Oh, horrors. The delegations are generally made up of Jews and this is the kind of reporting they do.

I think it's in the way they were introduced from the get go.

USAF introduced as US Army Air Corps, the broke off to form a new branch.

It was not announced as a new branch back then, it was an extension to the Army.

Just like the marines, a necessity for the Navy to be able to landfall troops for fighting, marines were extensions to the Navy, and introduced in that same manner.

US Military Helicopter Crashes in Philippine Sea, All Five Crew Members Rescued - Navy

 

All five crew members of a US military MH-60 Seahawk helicopter that crashed in the Philippine Sea off the coast of Japan on 25 January have been rescued and are in a stable condition, the US Navy reported.

 

According to a statement published by the US Navy’s Seventh Fleet, three crew members were transported to Naval Hospital Okinawa in Japan for observation, while two people were transported to the USS Blue Ridge vessel for treatment, the Navy reported.

 

The helicopter crashed at approximately 17:15 local time (08:15 GMT), according to the Navy's statement. A joint US and Japanese search and rescue operation consisting of both Navy and Coastguard personnel located the crew members and brought them to safety.

Judge Naplitano on Trump: “Ample And Uncontradicted Evidence For His Removal”

 

There is no better example of Fox News’ transition from an opposition news network into just another Left-wing mainstream hack show than former Judge Andrew Napolitano.

 

In an op-ed published Thursday, Napolitano claimed that there is “ample and uncontradicted” evidence that President Donald Trump should be impeached and removed from office.

 

“What is required for removal of the president? A demonstration of presidential commission of high crimes and misdemeanors, of which in Trump’s case the evidence is ample and uncontradicted,” he wrote.

 

Continuing, the former New Jersey Superior Court judge said the Constitution describes justification for impeachment as treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors.

 

“However, this use of the word ‘crimes’ does not refer to violations of federal criminal statutes. It refers to behavior that is so destructive of the constitutional order that it is the moral equivalent of statutory crimes,” the judge wrote.

 

Napolitano then noted that there are “valid, lawful, constitutional arguments for Trump’s impeachment that he ought to take seriously.”

 

He also chided Republican senators who have said they are ready to acquit the president — which is based on their perception that the House never had any legitimate evidence to impeach Trump in the first place.

 

“Whoever may have whispered that into his ear is unworthy of sitting as a juror and has violated the oath of ‘impartial justice’ and fidelity to the Constitution and the law,” Napolitano wrote, apparently tone deaf to the fact that Democratic senators nearly to a person had already predetermined they would vote for removal.

 

Napolitano then goes on to cite a finding by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) earlier this month in which the ‘non-partisan’ entity determined that Trump had violated U.S. law when he temporarily withheld military aid from Ukraine — the centerpiece of Democrats’ impeachment.

 

“The Government Accountability Office — a nonpartisan entity in the federal government that monitors how the feds spend tax revenue — has concluded that Trump’s request for a favor was a violation of law because only Congress can impose conditions on government expenditures. So, when the president did that, he usurped Congress’ role and acted unlawfully,” Napolitano wrote.

 

Like most other mainstream media, however, Napolitano has conveniently left out the fact that right after the GAO released its well-timed legal finding — on the eve of the impeachment trial — the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which actually disperses foreign aid, came out with an alternate legal opinion stating clearly that the president did not violate the law.

Indeed, coconut oil, which contains saturated fats, produced very few changes in the hypothalamic genes.

 

“If there’s one message I want people to take away, it’s this: reduce consumption of soybean oil,” Deol said about the most recent study.

Simply put, costs of living and assets have risen far faster than incomes. Rent, daycare, insurance, education, healthcare, etc. etc. have taken a progressively greater share of income leading to fewer and later marriages, fewer and later children, and a general unwillingness to reproduce. All this has led to collapsing populations of young (and now young adults) among the nations that consume over 90% of the worlds exports and ultimately means collapsing demand while excess capacity is set to soar.

 

So, today I show that of the top 50+ global economies, 6 have rising annual births and childbearing populations, 9 have falling annual births but still have a rising or flat childbearing population (the precursor to depopulation), 35+ have falling births, a falling childbearing population, are in secular decline, and depopulating from the bottom up (negative birth rates coupled with declining childbearing populations). Essentially, global consumer bases are collapsing from the young up, and this situation is only accelerating…and more debt, more QE, more interest rate cuts are only pushing birth rates and total births lower.

Earlier this month, West Virginia state senator Charles Trump introduced a senate resolution requesting that the citizens of Frederick County consider joining West Virginia. That is, the West Virginia Senate invited the county to secede from Virginia and join West Virginia. The Senate later adopted the resolution.

 

Resolutions like these don’t change any laws, but the Senate vote was in part a response to the dissatisfaction voiced by some Virginians over the legislative agenda of the new government in Richmond. As Tho Bishop noted on Monday here at Mises.org, many residents of Frederick County, like residents of other counties outside Democrat-controlled areas of the state’s east and northeast, are concerned about mounting efforts by the state government to impose new gun ownership restrictions—among other new regulations—on Virginia residents.

 

If opponents of the current ideological winds blowing in Virginia find themselves in a permanent minority, it may very well be that the only method of defending the minority position is by leaving the state. But “exit” can theoretically be obtained in more than one way. It can be done on an individual basis, of course, where a single person relocates. Or it can be done through jurisdictional secession.

Trump legal team goes on offense in impeachment trial, accuse Democrats of 'massive' election interference

 

Donald Trump's lawyers defended the president against articles of impeachment Saturday morning arguing it’s the Democrats trying to interfere in elections by seeking to remove Trump from the 2020 ballot for doing “absolutely nothing wrong.”

 

White House Counsel Pat Cipollone said Democrats have no case and are doing damage to democracy by trying to undermine the will of American voters.

 

“For all their talk about election interference, they're here to perpetrate the most massive interference in an election in American history,” Cipollone said in his opening remarks to the Senate. “And we can't allow that to happen."

 

Cipollone continued: “It would violate the sacred trust that the American people have placed in you and have placed in them. The American people decide elections. They have one coming up in nine months.”

 

Saturday was the first chance Trump’s lawyers had to refute the House’s case of impeachment and they came out making a forceful case that there are no grounds to remove Trump from office. Not only are Democrats asking the Senate to undo the results of the 2016 election but to tear up all ballots in the 2020 election with Trump’s name, Cipollone charged.

 

“They're asking you to do something that no Senate has ever done and they're asking you to do it with no evidence. And that's wrong,” Cipollone said.

 

Billed as a teaser for next week's argument, Trump's legal team gave a 2-hour preview of their legal argument. All told, they'll have three days and up to 24 hours to launch their defense - the same amount of time as House managers – but Cipollone told senators up front they would be "respectful" of their time and make their presentations shorter and less repetitive than Democrats.

Yes, you are right, I misread the article. However, concurrent with that purchase and managerial shake up some new faces were "placed" on the board of Fox, to include never Trumper Paul Ryan.

I would posit that part of the behind the scenes dealing was that the far left progressive Disney organization required some concessions on what remained as Fox Corp. That Paul Ryan became a director, bringing with him vast and deep classified knowledge some of which perhaps pertained to Judge Nap is a very suspicious confluence of events and timelines of the editorial stance of Fox News.

Why is Kushner so important?

 

The Justice Department did not hand over the FBI's summary of Jared Kushner's interviews with special counsel Robert Mueller last week – despite a judge's order to do so – because "a member of the intelligence community" needs to ensure the material has been properly redacted, a department attorney said Wednesday.

DOJ lawyer Courtney Enlow informed CNN as part of an ongoing lawsuit that Kushner's memo, also known as a "302, will be released with the appropriate redactions" after the intelligence agency has finished its review.

Judge Reggie Walton had ordered the FBI to give CNN and BuzzFeed access to Mueller witness memos that the US House previously reviewed in secret, including Kushner's, by January 17.

 

Multiple memos from Mueller's interviews with counterintelligence investigation targets including Paul Manafort, Carter Page and George Papadopoulos were released by the deadline. It's not clear why Kushner's memo would merit the delay.

Rather than argue that this specific incident was not sexual, Tilli opted to challenge the entire law.
