"The jobs report for April hit the country like a left hook in the face. About 20.5 million people were thrown out of work, the most rapid decline in the job market since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began keeping records. The unemployment rate rose to 14.7%. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin admitted the actual figure was probably much higher, possibly closer to the Great Depression-like levels of 20% to 25%. The COVID-19 pandemic has wiped out more than a decade of job growth in a little less than six weeks. Not even the most dire economic forecasters could have anticipated such a precipitous fall from grace.

The economic shock and awe has been so sudden that Republican and Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill were able to put aside the usual partisan gamesmanship about spending to pass four separate coronavirus-related bills. One, a $2 trillion package that President Trump signed into law last month, was the largest economic rescue bill in U.S. history. Even the most fiscally attuned conservative lawmaker recognized that increasing budget deficits to put money into people's pockets was a necessity at this point in time, not a luxury.

In the weeks since the $2 trillion measure was passed, the economy has continued to bleed jobs. The country is in an extremely dire state, with the virus shutting down sectors of the workforce normally insulated from a recession (like white-collar jobs). The urgency on Capitol Hill to save the economy is as high today as it was weeks ago. The only difference: The shiny bipartisan armor is beginning to wear off."

In Germany, Telegram groups where influential extremists and far-right activists attack vulnerable groups have doubled their number of followers, to more than 100,000 participants since February, according to a review by POLITICO of those accounts.

The themes of far-right posts include long-standing grievances, including allegations that migrants spread disease, support for President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall, antagonism toward the EU or opposition to gun control. One fake online rumor, accusing Microsoft founder Bill Gates of creating the coronavirus, echoes centuries-old conspiracy theories and Anti-Semitic tropes about global elites pulling the world’s strings.

“These aren’t new lines they are spinning,” said Imran Ahmed, chief executive of the Center for Countering Digital Hate. “They will use anything they can, whether it’s coronavirus or something else, to bring people into their radical world.”

Public figures helping stoke the fires include French nationalist leader Marine Le Pen, whose Facebook account has more than 1.5 million followers, and Trump, who has defended his use of the term “Chinese virus” and pushed the theory that the disease may have come from a lab in China, despite pushback from his intelligence and defense agencies.

Extremist groups on the two continents have tried before to coordinate their messaging, with middling success.

After Trump’s surprise victory in 2016, far-right online communities sprouted up across the U.S. and Europe, at first using online platforms like Facebook and Google before shifting their focus to smaller, less-regulated networks to share conspiracy theories or organize protests.

Americans like Steve Bannon, Trump’s former White House chief strategist, also tried to export U.S.-style online tactics in hopes of uniting European right-wing groups like Italy’s Northern League party and Le Pen’s National Rally in France, though, as POLITICO reported last year, he struggled to win over movements on the Continent.

Now, as the coronavirus gives the far right a new impetus to find audiences, many European activists are wielding the same U.S.-style tactics they have spent years learning to emulate, including the creation of online “meme banks” of photos designed to spread widely. That leaves them less in need of outside help, according to researchers tracking their movements.

According to the report, the Facebook-backed lobbying group will attempt to convince federal lawmakers that big tech companies are “essential to the U.S. economy and the future of free speech.”

The organization is called American Edge, and it aims through a barrage of advertising and other political spending to convince policymakers that Silicon Valley is essential to the U.S. economy and the future of free speech, according to three people familiar with the matter as well as documents reviewed by The Washington Post. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the group because it hasn’t officially been announced.

In December, American Edge formed as a nonprofit organization, and last month, it registered an accompanying foundation, according to incorporation documents filed in Virginia. The setup essentially allows it to navigate a thicket of tax laws in such a way that it can raise money, and blitz the airwaves with ads, without the obligation of disclosing all of its donors. Many powerful political actors — including the National Rifle Association — similarly operate with the aid of “social welfare” groups.

Facebook is viewed as a critical, primary driver in helping to launch American Edge, the sources said, though some cautioned it is not the only one. On the group’s board are a former Republican governor, federal regulator and Democratic congressman, according to people familiar with the effort, and it’s being advised by a stable of veteran Democratic and Republican consultants.

Facebook confirmed its participation in a comment to the Post, saying the aim of the new organization is to “help build support for our industry.”

The creation of the advocacy group comes at a time when big tech faces unprecedented scrutiny over political censorship, election interference, and competition. Facebook alone is currently subject to an antitrust probe as well as lawsuits from the targets of its political censorship.

President Trump's spy chief is reportedly declassifying information that shows former CIA Director John Brennan "suppressed" intelligence on Russia wanting Hillary Clinton to win the 2016 election.

Fox News chief White House correspondent Ed Henry said Tuesday evening that "it could get sticky" for Brennan, who served as CIA director under former President Barack Obama, due to his role in developing the 2017 intelligence community assessment on Russian election interference that determined with "moderate" to "high" confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin sought to boost Trump's 2016 election chances.

"There's other intel that may have been more serious suggesting that Russia wanted Hillary Clinton to win, rather than balancing that out in the assessment they put out there in that assessment, and set the narrative that Russia wanted Trump to win," Henry reported on Tucker Carlson Tonight.

Noting that Fred Fleitz, a former CIA officer and National Security Council chief of staff, first blew the whistle on Brennan's alleged efforts to hide this information, Henry said he has a separate intelligence source who confirmed this intelligence is among the four or five batches of documents that Richard Grenell, the acting director of national intelligence, is working to declassify.

This follows Grenell declassifying a list of Obama administration officials involved in the "unmasking" of retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn in intelligence community intercepts of conversations the incoming Trump national security adviser had with a Russian envoy during the presidential transition period.

Flynn pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about his conversations with Russia’s then-ambassador to the United States, but he later declared his innocence and argued he was set up by the FBI.

The Justice Department filed to drop its criminal case against Flynn on Thursday, saying in a court filing that after reviewing newly disclosed materials, the agency agreed with Flynn’s attorneys that his interview with the FBI that took place in late January 2017 should never have taken place because his conversations with the Russian diplomat were "entirely appropriate."

Instead of agreeing to dismiss the case immediately, the D.C. federal judge presiding over it, Emmet Sullivan, opened the matter to outside opinions on Tuesday, which earned a stern rebuke from Sidney Powell, a former federal prosecutor who took over representation for Flynn last summer.

Last week, in a private conversation with former administration officials that was leaked to Yahoo News, Obama said the Justice Department's recent actions show the "rule of law is at risk." His criticism came after the release of documents, which have raised questions about the extent to which Obama and Joe Biden, his vice president and now presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, were privy to the actions taken by the FBI in the case against Flynn in the waning days of the previous administration.

Henry said a DOJ representative confirmed to him that U.S. Attorney John Durham is looking into the Flynn "unmasking" issue "among others." , Durham, the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut, is conducting a criminal investigation of the Russia inquiry, which ultimately did not establish any criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin

Grenell delivered his unmasking list to the Justice Department last week.

The Washington Examiner reported on Monday that making the information public will be up to Attorney General William Barr and that the declassified list also likely includes the names of officials involved in other unmaskings near the end of Obama's second term.

Henry reported the Justice Department told him it is not going to release the information being declassified, instead waiting for Grenell to do it himself.

Meanwhile, Russia probe files released as part of the Justice Department's move to drop its case against Flynn are raising new questions about a mysterious Inauguration Day email sent by Flynn's predecessor in the Obama administration, Susan Rice.

An exhibit in the DOJ's motion to dismiss the Flynn case last week detailed a special counsel interview of former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates. The interview indicated outgoing President Barack Obama was aware of Flynn’s intercepted December 2016 phone calls with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the presidential transition period.

The document noted Yates learned about the calls during a Jan 5, 2017, Oval Office meeting with Obama, Rice, then-FBI Director James Comey, then-CIA Director John Brennan, and then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

After the briefing, Obama asked Yates and Comey to "stay behind," and said he had "learned of the information about Flynn" and his conversation with Russia's ambassador about sanctions. Obama "specified that he did not want any additional information on the matter, but was seeking information on whether the White House should be treating Flynn any differently, given the information.”

At that point, the document said, "Yates had no idea what the president was talking about, but figured it out based on the conversation. Yates recalled Comey mentioning the Logan Act, but can't recall if he specified there was an 'investigation.' Comey did not talk about prosecution in the meeting.”

Hawley said that the Senate should conduct an investigation as well in order to give the American people answers. Hawley urged that the Judiciary Committee should hear from former Obama officials “under oath.”

"If they won’t come, we should subpoena these people so that they can look into the eye of the American public and tell everyone what exactly they did. Why did they break these protocols? Why did they authorize spying on the Trump campaign? Why did they lie to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court and try to get wiretaps on Trump affiliates? Why did they break protocol with Flynn and go after him the way they did?”

The filing to dismiss the Flynn case came after the DOJ determined that the bureau's 2017 Flynn interview which formed the basis for his guilty plea of lying to investigators was "conducted without any legitimate investigative basis.”

Try to compare it with Rosenstein/Mueller investigation.

We have two options:

Flynn is compleatly free, end of case.
Flynn case will continue.

In case 2, it can follow like this:

He will be free anyways, this is just planned show for deep state, which is like 99,99% probability.
He will be sencented, which is 00,01% probability

So, lets take option 1, which means he is free, end of case. What does this mean for deep state? They can focus on another fuckeries, make a lot problems for another prepared moves they have.

They can say, ok, we lost. MSM will bith about it a little bit, and in few days everyone will forget about it.

Also, they will know that Sullivan flipped.

So, if this is war, they will know exatcly situation on battlefield. Can focus on another move.
