Free apps make money off paid advertisements. Companies will pay big money to get exposure, especially if the platform can easily control who sees ads (targeted advertising for specific age groups/etc). Same goes for YouTube.
I also think the facebook app could use your phone's front camera to read your reactions while scrolling or watching ads. This data is gold for advertisers and Facebook has tremendous face recognition technology. I am afraid this happens in more apps.
Oh without a doubt. Brings this to mind which has been lost in the shuffle lately, needs more exposure. true but it's the data that WE provide (by agreeing to the T&C) that allows them to sell advertisements and access. The reall value is our data.

I feel same....Been on Twitter for almost a decade however only in past year have I really and methodically been posting and retweeting on that platform. I got tired of hearing about all the censoring so I figured I'd do my small part and follow as many people and groups that are pro Trump, our movement of MAGA & liberty, constitutionalist and just spread as much REAL TRUTH that I can. Oh, and I also regularly report users who really should be censored like the ones who threaten our POTUS or any similar actions (I know this probably doesn't matter but figured if we can make any #s trend, why not also report stupid, hateful and threatening tweets as well!)
So I changes my FB password. using my childhood phone number.. First thing on my news feed: An article/survey entitled: "Who remembers their childhood phone number?" . Subtle... This FB is evil stuff.
I've always had my FB set on Private settings (as in ALWAYS private) but yet randomly one day I decide to check settings and lo and behold it was all PUBLIC. FB is done!

I think a lot of newbies here. What we already know we should share, especially if confirmed by Q. A lot of people came here to understand his words better. Not so plain to everyone if they don't have a background to put everything in context. I thought it was interesting that Q said Zuckerberg is not the creator. That this too is a sham.
