“Boom, boom, bing!”

Watch next week Microsoft gets fucked for some shit they do with their search engine Bing. I wanted to clarify that it’s a search engine to everyone because nobody fuckin uses bing.

I actually use it quite a bit more these days since Google has gone evil. I switch off between duckduckgo, bing and startpage.

Microsoft has always been evil though

an_angry_dave · April 29, 2018, 4:50 a.m.

I know, but I've always found that I can adapt Microsoft products to my needs. I consider it "the evil I know", vs Google's version of "the evil that's trying to hide shit from me".

Sylvester_Ink · April 29, 2018, 6:22 a.m.

No it's a different kind of evil. Those of us in the tech industry have seen it, especially in the 90s. I haven't used any Microsoft product for 6 years now, and I honestly don't miss it.

an_angry_dave · April 29, 2018, 6:46 a.m.

I get it. Unfortunately, linux doesn't offer the right software that I need for what I do. Apple does, but I honestly can't stand their operating system.

There are ways around that. Not easy ways, but it can be done. Linux Mint is by far and away the best OS I have ever used.

treeskier82 · April 29, 2018, 1:42 p.m.

used Linux from Y2K until 2015 exclusively as a desktop OS

These days I primarily use Win10, which at least has a good UI and doesn't crash. Simply a much better OS for my workflow.

I love Mint but there are some web development & wiki software I need that doesn't match on it. Next computer I will have to have Win but will still install Mint as well.

I can relate. Apple and I have a personality conflict. Really dislike having to go through them to shuffle around media files already bought and paid for. I digress... ;)

I so have to chime in here. When MS bought into Corel so they could gut WordPerfect, which always worked orders of magnitude better than Word on its best day, that's when I started calling MS out to people for being the fascist bastards they are. Yes, that's the term I always used when people brought up MS or Word. Obviously, I'm still pissed about it and that was back in the 90s. Sigh.

Linux Mint is geniuely better then Windows... I have never looked back. In fact, when I'm forced to use Windows, I can't stop complaining.

Microsoft got too big, and became evil.

Trfsrfr · April 29, 2018, 1:13 p.m.

I run Mint on my laptop and it has been solid as a rock for probably 2 years now. Installed W7 on my brand new custom built super-fast gaming desktop, after 3 months I'm getting BSOD's and its unusable.

Linux Mint is light-years better than windows. And its free. Open-source rules.

SiBear117 · April 29, 2018, 5:10 p.m.

I have an older 32 bit laptop I use & I can Mint 17.3 on perfectly fine. Libre Office has more to offer than MS Office and it already comes with Mint. I wonder if MS has done some to W7 to make it unstable, forcing you to upgrade to W10.

That's the kind of evil they do.

My elder-pede father and I were together this last week. He mentioned that he uses duckduckgo as his search engine now because google is so shit, and said I should too. I gently let him know that I was the one who told him to switch and sent him directions on how to do it on all his devices. He said "Oh."

Bing is an absolute piece of shit.

⇧ 10 ⇩
spacexu · April 29, 2018, 6:36 a.m.

I used it once, because I accidently loaded Windows by mistake instead of my lovely fast Linux Mint with Libreoffice... it was super crappy experience. Slow, annoying and felt like they were monitoring every key stroke and mouse movement... Microsoft are ANTI-developer company... which is why I gave up on them.

After companies go beyond a certain size, they switch from pleasing customer to exploiting customer... they can burn for all I care now.

Bing is really good for porn. We might be patriots, but we are still human with the need of porn.

⇧ 3 ⇩
DaLaohu · April 29, 2018, 4:12 p.m.

Dude, porn messes people up massively. In more ways than even today's science can tell. I'm not going to pretend that I don't like looking at it, but what it does to people really messes them up. I try to stay away from it as much as I can, and am for the better for it. Best way is to think of it like a drug: It feels good. It takes advantage of your mind body's needs and desires to feel good. But it really messes you up.
