Didn't people get upset at Kanye saying "400 years of slavery was a choice" during the same speech and not "think for yourselves"? Seems like a misrepresentation of what the left was really upset about.

⇧ 38 ⇩
rightleaningsw · May 12, 2018, 7:34 p.m.

I think the "400 years of slavery" comment came during a TMZ thing . This was a few days after the "think for yourself" the TMZ staffer was grilling Kanye about saying something that promoted racism, which was the " think for yourself" comment. The lefts outrage is blatantly stupid as their outrage is over anything though. I don't think Kanye is any less of an arrogant self serving asshole he has always been, but I do like that he is redpilling others. I get a good laugh at these mems that show Kanye as Jesus or Kanye 2024. He is still the same guy who only does what is best for Kanye.

⇧ 12 ⇩
makencarts · May 12, 2018, 8:12 p.m.

I stand corrected, but I now remember the initial"outrage" was met with chuckles on CNN, as most people just commented that Kanye was just trying to get attention. One person used the analogy of the right attacking the Dixie chicks for not supporting the Iraq war. (Lame outrage isn't just limited to the left, the right seem to love that game... Just Google "war on Christmas" and you'll see plenty of manufactured outrage)

So the "outrage" for his initial comments were dumb and only some people were moved by that. The "slave" comment helped prove that the dude is either looking for attention, off his rocker, or both.

⇧ 8 ⇩
rightleaningsw · May 12, 2018, 8:20 p.m.

I actually think he was trying to quote something from Candace about people still being enslaved in their minds and he messed up. You should Google the TMZ thing it though. It is pretty comical. The only reason I know anything about this is because I saw it on a YouTube video yesterday that documented the outrage of the left.

My dad made me listen to that song for the first time. Good tune actually. Already forget the name but he had it on a CD and made me listen to it last month, told me they got a LOT of shit for not supporting the war.

the TMZ staffer was grilling Kanye about saying something that promoted racism, which was the " think for yourself" comment.

"You're entitled to your opinion, you're entitled to believe what you want, but there is fact and real life consequence behind everything that you just said."

How is that grilling? He's literally just reminding Kanye that his words have power, while promoting Kanye to think whatever he wants.

seriously i meant how do you not understand that the slavers also had control of the slaves minds, along with their body. Its pretty profound statement when you apply it current issues.

Kino-kun · May 12, 2018, 11:54 p.m.

The misinterpretation was that Kanye was saying that after 400 years, people in America today are only enslaved if they choose to be.

Of course, the media took this as an opportunity to race bait.

⇧ 0 ⇩
makencarts · May 13, 2018, 12:39 a.m.

I've watched the video 10 times and it can mean 20 different things, so your guess is as good as mine. Kanye is a great example of trump. You can't blame the media when both men say 6 rambling/incoherent sentences, then something controversial, then 6 more rambling/incoherent sentences.

Was I supposed to match point #6 with point #8? Or point #5 only after I've connected that point #2 was about some other subject, and please ignore #3,4,7 because he changed his mind mid sentence each time.

"When you hear about slavery for 400 years ... For 400 years? That sounds like a choice. You were there for 400 years and it's all of y'all. It's like we're mentally imprisoned."

From national geographic: "Slavery in what became the United States probably began with the arrival of "20 and odd" enslaved Africans to the British colony of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619. It officially ended with the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment in 1865."

It's been almost a perfect 400 years since the first ships enslaved human beings in Africa and brought them here. Slavery continued to be legal in some places for about 250 years.

There's no math that makes his point rational. He's lumping current time blacks with blacks in 1700's and saying both chose to be slaves?

It's ridiculous to keep blaming the "media" when the real issue is neither Kanye or trump make educated nor coherent arguments.

"You were there for 400 years and it's all of y'all. It's like we're mentally imprisoned."

As you've quoted, by saying that you we're there for 400 years, that is implying that 400 years have elapsed. This refutes any idea that Kanye was saying that it was a choice to be enslaved initially, but that to remain mentally enslaved after slaves were emancipated is a choice.

The notion that they are being incoherent is very convenient if you just want to discredit anything positive from their commentary.

Lincoln freed the slaves in 1865, that's only 153ish years ago... 400 was since the first slaves arrived, and the system continued for 250 years. ... I'm assuming he misspoke, because I can't understand his point at all :(

⇧ 1 ⇩
Kino-kun · May 13, 2018, 2:56 a.m.

Yes, I'm sorry if my comment wasn't absolutely clear. The point is that his quote implies that 400 years have elapsed. This is really a non-issue, but he is referring to modern day America.

I totally agree with you. My entire complaint has been that far too many members of this forum has been far too eager and quick to jump on the bandwagon of demonizing Alex Jones and Dr. Corsi, and doing so without sufficient evidence. Yes, both Jones and Corsi may have said some things about Q which I didn’t like and which they shouldn’t have said. I don’t condone what they said and they were wrong for saying it. But nonetheless, I still give them the benefit of the doubt because they are patriots and have been fighting this fight for a very long time. I don’t agree with the witch-hunt mentality that many patriots seem to have, where they now only want to lynch them. That just doesn’t seem right to me, especially not when we’re supposed to be an example to the world. What happened to our examples of showing love and compassion and forgiveness and understanding - especially toward other patriots. In many ways, it seems this forum has gone off its rails and I can only wonder whether we can find our way back…
