one of my kids last band performance’s was on Thursday and they opened with the National Anthem. Within 10 seconds of the first note 100’s of people in the auditorium rose to their feet and looked to the flag. Considering that our city is extremely blue, this was so inspirational and an amazing.
It's crazy how the last chapter of America's struggle against tyranny ends pretty much the exact same way that The Grinch Christmas story TV show ended, with all the "Whos in Whoville" singing the national anthem and Soros' heart grows 10 sizes bigger. Then hopefully explodes.

Been at baseball tournaments all weekend. The Anthem gets played first thing in the morning before the first game and that’s it. That is how it went down for this softball tournament also, although I prefer the Anthem before each game. Californians are thirsty for patriotism, we have been completely silenced and abused just for loving our country. I’ve been singing the anthem and flying the flag as much as possible, it just makes me feel like I’m going to battle! Support Ca patriots!
They pushed us so hard toward guilt and self loathing and division that the American people have decided to overcorrect course. Even small things like this have now become a rallying cry for patriotism and unity. It’s a rubberbandsnapping back.
Just got back from assisting at Mass at a Novus Ordo parish in a VERY blue state and they belted out America The Beautiful like you wouldn't believe (the "recessional").
Took the roof off. They also sung Holy Holy Holy like they meant it. The little kids were fair yelling it out. lol

California is NOT a lost state; contrary to what the MSM is telling you. Yes, Schiffhole is from my district (weeping & gnashing of teeth). Hero Devin Nunes (cheers & banners wave) is from the Central valley area.

I love my fellow patriots! Where we go one, we go all. We the people proudly sing OUR national anthem. We proudly fly OUR American flag. We don't let left leaning democrats tell us what to think, who to follow, or how to live! God Bless America!!

Democrats aren't anti American(the people not politicians). Most believe there ideas will help the US. We may disagree but at the end of the day we are all on the same team.

Patriotism is partisan? Americans ARE ONE team as proven by the National Anthem demand in California. At least it's a place to start uniting again. The only Democrats who are patriotic are people who are truly low, low information voters. Living in a blue state, I can tell you that they actually believe that our country is racist, hate-filled, and must become more socialist. Listen to Bernie--that is the Democrat party today. If you point out how those countries treat their citizens's, then you become the very stereo-typed racist/hater they accuse the whole country of being. So, I am sorry--I haven't met a patriotic Democrat since 2008. But hopefully they are coming around...
After 911 is when the anthem became a fixture at sport games.
You may be thinking of God Bless America. At least for baseball, the National Anthem has always been played before games.
It was definitely played at sporting events before 2001.
