Donald Trump: Who Will Joe Biden Surrender to Next?

Former President Donald Trump released more statements on Monday criticizing President Joe Biden’s handling of the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.

Trump noted Biden had first β€œsurrendered” to the coronavirus pandemic before surrendering to the Taliban, allowing them to overrun Afghanistan over the weekend.

β€œWho or what will Joe Biden surrender to next?” Trump asked. β€œSomeone should ask him, if they can find him.”

Biden remains on vacation at the presidential retreat at Camp David and has not spoken about Afghanistan publicly on camera since last Tuesday.

The Biden White House issued a statement on Biden’s behalf on Saturday, blaming Trump for negotiating with the Taliban in the first place.

But Trump indicated he would have done a better job with the withdrawal of troops.

β€œThe outcome in Afghanistan, including the withdrawal, would have been totally different if the Trump Administration had been in charge,” he said.

Trump expressed frustration in a second that Biden was leaving military equipment behind for the Taliban to use and not prioritizing Americans for evacuation.

β€œWho can believe such incompetence?” he asked. β€œUnder my Administration, all civilians and equipment would have been removed.”

UK Talking to Taliban, Blames Trump, Not Biden, for Afghanistan Chaos

The UK government has been talking to the Taliban through an intermediary and a pathway for the hardline Islamist terror group to be recognised as the government of Afghanistan exists, the defence secretary has said, as he defended President Joe Biden’s handling of the withdrawal.

British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace spoke to several UK broadcast networks on Monday morning amid emerging scenes of chaos and violence in Afghanistan and Britain’s re-committal to a group of Air Assault Brigade troops to the country to protect efforts to expatriate both UK passport holders and Afghan interpreters coming to Britain.

Wallace recognised that after 20 years of Western nation-building, the Taliban now controlled Afghanistan, and also revealed that the United Kingdom was already entering into discussions with the jihadist organisation to negotiate for the safety of British citizens in the country.

Speaking to Sky News, Wallace remarked: β€œI acknowledge that the Taliban are in control of the country, you don’t have to be a political scientist to spot that’s where we’re at. I have engaged through a third country yesterday to make sure we seek assurances from the Taliban to protect our people and indeed the people we’re trying to work to get out.”

Wallace said the intermediary was a Middle Eastern country that was speaking to the military leadership of the Taliban on his behalf. He again made the point when speaking to the BBC later in the morning, when he confirmed not only that the UK was negotiating with the Taliban, but that the terror group had offered assurances to London.

He said: β€œI sought through a third country, a Middle East country yesterday, assurances from the Taliban military leadership that they would respect the airport, their statements are that they would.”

Beyond granting the Taliban the legitimacy of not just seeing them as the de facto rulers of Afghanistan and negotiating to protect Britons in country with them through an intermediary, Wallace tacitly expressed that there was a route for the Taliban to be recognised as the legitimate government of Afghanistan, too. Asked on Sky News whether the UK would recognise the Taliban as the Afghan government, Wallace said that decision had not yet been made and suggested the answer would depend on how the fighters treated the country once in power.

The U.S. Government Lied For Two Decades About Afghanistan

Using the same deceitful tactics they pioneered in Vietnam, U.S. political and military officials repeatedly misled the country about the prospects for success in Afghanistan.

β€œThe Taliban regime is coming to an end,” announced President George W. Bush at the National Museum of Women in the Arts on December 12, 2001 β€” almost twenty years ago today. Five months later, Bush vowed: β€œIn the United States of America, the terrorists have chosen a foe unlike they have faced before. . . . We will stay until the mission is done.” Four years after that, in August of 2006, Bush announced: β€œAl Qaeda and the Taliban lost a coveted base in Afghanistan and they know they will never reclaim it when democracy succeeds. . . . The days of the Taliban are over. The future of Afghanistan belongs to the people of Afghanistan.”

For two decades, the message Americans heard from their political and military leaders about the country’s longest war was the same. America is winning. The Taliban is on the verge of permanent obliteration. The U.S. is fortifying the Afghan security forces, which are close to being able to stand on their own and defend the government and the country.

Just five weeks ago, on July 8, President Biden stood in the East Room of the White House and insisted that a Taliban takeover of Afghanistan was not inevitable because, while their willingness to do so might be in doubt, β€œthe Afghan government and leadership . . . clearly have the capacity to sustain the government in place.” Biden then vehemently denied the accuracy of a reporter’s assertion that β€œyour own intelligence community has assessed that the Afghan government will likely collapse.” Biden snapped: β€œThat is not true. They did not β€” they didn’t β€” did not reach that conclusion.”

Biden continued his assurances by insisting that β€œthe likelihood there’s going to be one unified government in Afghanistan controlling the whole country is highly unlikely.” He went further: β€œthe likelihood that there’s going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely.” And then, in an exchange that will likely assume historic importance in terms of its sheer falsity from a presidential podium, Biden issued this decree:

Q. Mr. President, some Vietnamese veterans see echoes of their experience in this withdrawal in Afghanistan. Do you see any parallels between this withdrawal and what happened in Vietnam, with some people feeling β€”

THE PRESIDENT: None whatsoever. Zero. What you had is β€” you had entire brigades breaking through the gates of our embassy β€” six, if I’m not mistaken.

The Taliban is not the south β€” the North Vietnamese army. They’re not β€” they’re not remotely comparable in terms of capability. There’s going to be no circumstance where you see people being lifted off the roof of an embassy in the β€” of the United States from Afghanistan. It is not at all comparable.

When asked about the Taliban being stronger than ever after twenty years of U.S. warfare there, Biden claimed: β€œRelative to the training and capacity of the [Afghan National Security Forces} and the training of the federal police, they’re not even close in terms of their capacity.” On July 21 β€” just three weeks ago β€” Gen. Mark Milley, Biden’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, conceded that β€œthere’s a possibility of a complete Taliban takeover, or the possibility of any number of other scenario,” yet insisted: β€œthe Afghan Security Forces have the capacity to sufficiently fight and defend their country.”

Fentanyl is also garbage that looms in the darkness to bring the zombies.

High lasts 2 hours or so, versus much longer for heroin. The withdrawals are also more intense.

It is a one-dimensional high as well.

The only reason I'm posting this is as heroin supplies dwindle, and prescription opiates become harder to get, fentanyl will dominate and every fucked up thing about opiate addiction will amplify 100 times.

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/568038-former-obama-adviser-argues-biden-must-fire-sullivan-over-afghanistan

A former White House adviser in the Obama administration penned an op-ed Monday arguing that President Biden should fire National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in light of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

In a piece published in USA Today, former Obama Director of Global Engagement Brett Bruen argued that Sullivan, whom he served with in the Democratic administration, has failed in all aspects of his position.

"The national security adviser has two jobs. As the name suggests, they are the last and ideally closest counselor to the president in the Situation Room," Bruen wrote. "Their second duty is to translate the commander in chief’s decisions and direction into practical policies. Sometimes that requires speaking truth to power. On all of these scores the current occupant of the office appears to have failed."

Bruen said Sullivan is well-versed in the theories and arguments of foreign policy, but that he lacked overseas experience that has resulted in a "disconnect" between ideas and their execution.

Jim Watkins, [16.08.21 10:48]

[Forwarded from CodeMonkeyZ [Ron Watkins]]

The ongoing failure in Afghanistan is just the beginning of a planned distraction campaign so they can ignore the Maricopa County Audit results.

All eyes on Maricopa County!

I agree with the statement that the Media will use Biden's Afghanistan failure as an excuse not to cover the audits.

We can do both here. It is a horrid loss. It is a disaster for our Nations image, and the folks on the tarmac trying to get on planes and falling off are breaking my heart.

Since Biden took over:

  • Taliban got a country

  • Russia got a pipeline

  • Illegal immigrants got a free path into the United States

Meanwhile American citizens got inflation, high gas prices, and crime.

Biden’s entire presidency has been a disasterβ€”and it’s only been 7 months.

U.S. Container-Ship Bottleneck Lurches Near Its February Record

The biggest U.S. trade gateway with Asia is clogged with the most inbound container vessels in more than six months, threatening to extend transportation delays, bite further into margins for American importers and boost prices for consumers.

Thirty-seven ships were anchored awaiting berth space outside the twin ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, California, as of late Sunday, the most since early February, according to officials who monitor marine traffic in San Pedro Bay. That’s almost double the length of the queue in mid-July and close to the record of 40 anchored vessels set Feb. 1. The average wait for berth space was 6.2 days, compared with 5.7 in late June, according to L.A. port figures. That number peaked around 8 days in April.

The transpacific trade routes have been disrupted in recent days by the partial closure of a major port in China because of Covid outbreaks among employees. That’s helping reduce already tight container shipping capacity globally and keeping ocean freight rates near record levels.

Donald J. Trump

First Joe Biden surrendered to COVID and it has come roaring back. Then he surrendered to the Taliban, who has quickly overtaken Afghanistan and destroyed confidence in American power and influence. The outcome in Afghanistan, including the withdrawal, would have been totally different if the Trump Administration had been in charge. Who or what will Joe Biden surrender to next? Someone should ask him, if they can find him.

Can anyone even imagine taking out our Military before evacuating civilians and others who have been good to our Country and who should be allowed to seek refuge? In addition, these people left topflight and highly sophisticated equipment. Who can believe such incompetence? Under my Administration, all civilians and equipment would have been removed.

Russian Ambassador Intends to Drive Through Kabul With Taliban to Make Sure City is Safe

Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov said he intended to travel with representatives of the Taliban movement* through Kabul to make sure that the city is safe.

"I want to take a drive around the city with the Taliban and just see with my own eyes and make sure … is it really calm," Zhirnov said on the air of the Ekho Moskvy broadcaster.

Taliban representatives said that it would be possible to choose "any route," he added.

Zhirnov also said that Talibs immediately guaranteed amnesty to all the security forces, all servicemen. "No witch hunt, no purges," the ambassador added.

He added that the Taliban also ensured that "not a single hair" would fall from the head of Russian diplomats.

"Tomorrow I will have a meeting with high-ranking Taliban officials, who coordinate security issues in the city, and not only in the city. I will work out with the all the security issues of the embassy in detail, according to the list, and so that the staff here work and live well. Plus, in addition to the embassy, we also have the Russian Center for Science and Culture, it also needs to be protected and guarded," the ambassador said on the air of Ekho Moskvy broadcaster.

The Taliban are guarding the Russian embassy in Kabul with armored vehicles and machine guns, Zhirnov said.

"A brigade empowered by high-ranking officials, it came to us today, led by their senior. He confirmed all the directives to ensure the safety of the diplomatic mission. They are standing around the clock, there is an armored vehicle with machine guns, everything is fine," he said.

Rogers noted noted that the preliminary audit report will be coming in several days.

β€œConfirming audit companies are preparing the draft report to present to the senate team . Senate team will then review for accuracy and clarity for final report which will be released publicly,” Fann posted to Twitter on Monday.

As National File previously reported, Rogers’ petition to decertify the election went viral this month, rapidly accruing over 100,000 signatures and drawing so much traffic that web servers had to be upgraded:

The petition to decertify the Arizona election started by State Sen. Wendy Rogers (R-AZ) has reached over 100,000 signatures, as the movement to secure election integrity within the state continues to gather momentum. Roger’s website had been driven offline by high traffic demand for the petition on last week, but has since been restored.

β€œWe have 107,918 signatures now,” Rogers posted to Twitter on Monday. β€œOver 10% there. I want to have 1 million signatures to show support for decertification. Please share this and also send to everyone you know.”

Jeff Bezos's space firm sues Nasa over SpaceX deal

Jeff Bezos's space firm Blue Origin is suing Nasa over a decision to award a $2.9bn (Β£2.1bn) lunar lander contract to Elon Musk's SpaceX.

The former Amazon boss's firm said there were "fundamental issues" with the deal, calling it unfair. The row stems from a decision in April to hand the deal to one company, not two as expected, because of a funding shortfall. Nasa is yet to comment, but it has the backing of a federal watchdog.

In a court filing on Friday, Blue Origin said it continued to believe that two providers were needed to build the landing system, which will carry astronauts down to the Moon's surface as early as 2024. It also accused Nasa of "unlawful and improper evaluation" of its proposals during the tender process. "We firmly believe that the issues identified in this procurement and its outcomes must be addressed to restore fairness, create competition and ensure a safe return to the Moon for America," Blue Origin said. At the time of the award, Nasa's human exploration chief, Kathy Lueders, admitted that the space agency's current budget precluded it from selecting two companies. That was after Congress granted it only $850m of the $3.3bn it requested for the project. Nasa also cited the proven record of orbital missions by Elon Musk's SpaceX firm as a factor in the award. Cost is also thought to have played a role: SpaceX's bid was the lowest-priced by some distance.

Last month, Mr Bezos offered to cover up to $2bn of Nasa's costs in order to be reconsidered for the contract, but he was rebuffed. US watchdog the Government Accountability Office (GAO), meanwhile, rejected a complaint from Blue Origin and defence contractor Dynetic, saying that Nasa had not "acted improperly" in handing the project to just one firm. Nasa must file a response to the legal action by 12 October. SpaceX is yet to comment on the lawsuit. Under its Artemis programme, Nasa hopes to return humans to the moon for the first time since 1972 using SpaceX's system. In April, Ms Lueders said: "This critical step puts humanity on a path to sustainable lunar exploration and keeps our eyes on missions farther into the solar system, including Mars."

Regarding Afghanistan and beyond; I believe we have passed the point of salvation for our senior military leaders and politicians. We have allowed military and civilian lawyers (read rules of engagement restrictions) to become all powerful and our Generals (indecisive and risk averse) to become nothing more than career seeking politicians. Those are 2 big reasons we have continued to fight and lose wars (we are trained at participating in wars and untrained at winning wars since WWII). AFG is a sad situation, as were the kurds in Iraq, but at least Trump pushed our respect internationally (being tough and smart is better than being tough and stupid). Today I don't believe America is respected the way we were only a few short months ago. More countries visit China these days than come to the U.S. and China is prepped to recognize the Taliban once they declare the Islamic State simply to embarrass us. My sense is Taiwan is having some incredibly uncomfortable internal discussions (American apathy is likely starting to sink in). As are a lot of US allies in Europe. I also believe China is doing a lot of war gaming of costs and benefits currently with respect to the south China sea and Europe. We are now in a fully engaged information war. Soon it may be worseβ€”I pray our senior military leadership is intensely planning all optionsβ€”the best plan offers the most options at the last possible moment. So now we wait. Trust me, our enemies are not waiting. They plan and they don’t care about stupid mask policies or fake insurrection BS. Our enemies will be working on the next three vulnerabilities we haven't even thought about. I believe Russia and China are clear eyed on our corrupt political leadership that they and many other nations no longer respect nor fear. America will come back and soon but it will come at a cost. If the bureaucracy in WDC (esp., DOD, State and the IC) want to keep acting like utopian ideologues, we will lose, if you find your courage, we will win. I say step up, stand up and straighten up your backbones, demand far better from your leaders and let’s start winning again.

We The People are the plan. Stop with all the nonsense. The founders started with creating individual liberties first then went from there. Our constitution was created from the bottom up (thank God) and we have sacrificed much to keep life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Stop complaining and get involved in your local community.

China Dumped US Treasuries For 4th Straight Month, Most Since 2016

Overall, June was a 'buy all the US things' month for foreign investors

*Long-Term Treasurys +$10.9BN

*Agencies +22.7BN

*Corporate Bonds $13.8BN

*Corporate Stocks +$25.2BN

That is the biggest stock buying binge since March, led by non-official source buying (Foreign Official institutions -5.4BN, Other foreign entities: +30.6BN)... For the 4th straight month, China dumped US Treasuries in June (the latest TIC data). In fact, over the last two months, China sold over $34 billion in Treasuries - the biggest dump since 2016...Belgium also saw significant selling (often considered a proxy for China selling via Everclear), now with the lowest holdings since Sept 2020...Japan bought Treasuries in June (after selling in May)..And finally, hedge funds appear to have been big buyers of bonds in June as Cayman Islands added almost $16bn (up for the 3rd month in a row)...As a reminder, the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield decreased about 13 basis points in June to 1.47%.

Finally, we note that the shift from Treasuries to Gold among global reserves remains in tact-cap #2
