A derecho (/dəˈreɪtʃoʊ/, from Spanish: derecho [deˈɾetʃo], "straight") is a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm that is associated with a fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms known as a mesoscale convective system.[1]

A report published in June of 2020 states that in 2017, 2018 and 2019, the state of Israel demolished over two thousand homes of Palestinian citizens of Israel per year in the Naqab region alone.

The report was put together by an Israeli Non-Governmental agency called, “The Negev Coexistence Forum for Civil Equality.”''

Today Israel only allows indigenous Palestinian Bedouins to live on 12% of their ancestral homeland in the Naqab''', transferring them to camps and crowded villages reminiscent of Native American reservations.

The Naqab, called the Negev in Hebrew, makes up the entire southern half of Palestine, and while it is a desert, it is considered to be a fertile desert. The indigenous people of the Naqab, the Palestinian Bedouin, are a semi-nomadic people and historically cultivated these lands.

A vicious derecho, a fast-moving, violent thunderstorm complex, barreled through the Plains and the Midwest on Monday, bringing destructive winds along a 700-mile path that took it through the heart of Chicago. Wind gusts exceeding 100 mph ravaged Iowa, while there were confirmed tornadoes along the storms’ path, including one that swirled near the shore of Lake Michigan in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.

The violent windstorm killed one person in Indiana, and more than 1 million residents remained without power the morning after.

Along its path, fierce winds overturned trucks, flattened corn crops, and knocked trees onto homes and vehicles. Numerous structures were damaged in Iowa and northern Illinois. Social media images showed two-by-fours turned into projectiles that punctured the sides of buildings. In Wheaton, Ill., the winds toppled a church steeple.

The National Weather Service logged more than 700 reports of severe weather, including a wind gust to 112 mph in Midway, Iowa.

Derechos are arcing bands of thunderstorms that produce wind damage, some significant, along a path exceeding 400 miles. Monday’s was a “progressive” derecho, composed of one main bow echo — or curved squall line — containing a concentrated swath of wind.

The wind was most extreme over Iowa and northern Illinois before storms fanned outward and brought slightly lesser winds to a much broader area.

Court of Appeal slams Attorney General Kamala Harris again

When will they ever learn? Ninth Circuit Judge Alex Kozinski declared months ago in a much-quoted opinion that there is “an epidemic of Brady violations abroad in the land.” And yet, prosecutors continue to deny there’s a problem. Indeed, the Department of Justice gets outright indignant at the suggestion, and so do many state court prosecutors. They bristle at the very mention of the possibility. But here’s another doozy: The People (of California) v. Efrain Velasco-Palacios. In this unpublished opinion from the Fifth Appellate District, the California Court of Appeal reveals that state prosecutors and California Attorney General Kamala Harris continue to be part of the problem. Kern County prosecutor Robert Murray committed “outrageous government misconduct.” Ms. Harris and her staff defended the indefensible—California State prosecutor Murray flat out falsified a transcript of a defendant’s confession. Kern County prosecutor Robert Murray added two lines of transcript to “evidence” that the defendant confessed to an even more egregious offense than that with which he had been charged—the already hideous offense of molesting a child. With the two sentences that state’s attorney Murray perjuriously added, Murray was able to threaten charges that carried a term of life in prison. Capitalizing to the maximum on his outright fabrication, state’s attorney Robert Murray committed his own crime against the defendant at the crucial time when defense counsel was consulting with the defendant on a possible plea.

Prosecutor Murray had ample time and opportunity to correct his lies and his falsification of the transcript, but instead, he let it go until defense counsel had encouraged his client to plead guilty based on this fabricated evidence. Not until after defense counsel requested the original tape recording from which the transcript was made did Mr. Murray admit that he had added the most incriminating statements to the transcript. When confronted with the defense’s motion to dismiss the indictment for outrageous prosecutorial misconduct, Mr. Murray claimed his own false alteration of the transcript was “in jest,” a “joke” between two lawyers, and harmless to the defendant. Mr. Murray lobbed in another little bombshell for good measure, swearing that defense counsel had said that the defendant’s defense was “not viable.” Mr. Murray’s actions caused the disqualification of defense counsel, and as one might expect, the defendant did not feel that he could trust his own attorney. Defense counsel had to testify at the hearing, the attorney-client privilege was affected, and new counsel had to be named. California Judge H.A. Staley got it right. He found that Mr. Murray’s fabrication of “evidence”—falsifying the transcript of a confession during discovery and plea negotiations—was “egregious, outrageous, and . . . shocked the conscience.” The trial judge saw no laughing matter—and neither should the rest of us. He dismissed the indictment completely, and in a scathing opinion, also quoted by the appellate court, wrote that the prosecutor’s actions “diluted the protections accompanying the right to counsel and ran the risk of fraudulently inducing defendant to enter a plea and forfeit his right to a jury trial.” The court refused to “tolerate such outrageous conduct that results in the depravation of basic fundamental constitutional rights that are designed to provide basic fairness.”

Undaunted by the criminal conduct of a state prosecutor, or the district court’s opinion, Ms. Harris appealed the decision dismissing the indictment. According to the California attorney general, only abject physical brutality would warrant a finding of prosecutorial misconduct and the dismissal of an indictment. Fortunately for all of us—and the Constitution—she lost again. This is Ms. Harris’ third strike in hardly as many months—and those are only the ones that have come to our attention.

New State memos disclose relentless pressure by Hunter Biden-connected Ukrainian firm==

Key Senate chairman vows subpoena after documents provided to Just the News under FOIA, but not Senate investigators.

The Ukrainian natural gas firm that appointed Vice President Joe Biden's son Hunter to a lucrative board seat relentlessly pressured the State Department throughout the 2016 election in an effort to get corruption allegations against it dropped and its badly damaged reputation rehabilitated, newly released government memos show.

"They keep trying through every channel they can," a State Department official lamented in summer 2016, describing a nonstop lobbying campaign by Burisma Holdings and its American representatives.

The memos, released to Just the News under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit assisted by the Southeastern Foundation, add new significance to a long-running Senate investigation into the Bidens' activities and perceived conflicts of interest in Ukraine.

For instance, they show far more contact between Burisma and the U.S. embassy in Kiev than was acknowledged by witnesses during President Trump's impeachment proceedings earlier this year. One issue in that trial was the more than $3 million Hunter Biden's firm collected from Burisma while his father supervised Ukraine policy for President Obama.

The memos obtained by Just the News also were withheld from Senate investigators, who learned of their existence from the FOIA lawsuit.

"We have been so frustrated in our attempt to get the documentation that we need before we can sit down and interview people, and as I understand it, the documents you just obtained in your FOIA request we haven't received unbelievably," Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson said in an interview with the John Solomon Reports podcast.

"I cannot tell you how frustrated and ticked off, I'll use that word, ticked off about where we are here. So yeah, I subpoenaed the FBI. And, you know, expect additional subpoenas to be forthcoming,” Johnson (R-Wisc.) added.

Man Shot Near White House Identified, Was Reportedly Unarmed During Incident

The individual shot by a Secret Service officer Monday evening near the White House during President Donald Trump’s press conference has been identified, according to the Washington Post.

Myron Berryman, 51, was identified as the man who allegedly approached a Secret Service officer at his post nearby the White House and said he had a weapon. Berryman shouted, “I’m going to kill you. I’m going to shoot you,” according to the Washington Post.

Berryman has lived in Dayton, Ohio as well as Forestville, Maryland, and more recently Wheeling, West Virginia. He was reportedly a professional boxer from 2000-2004, according to the Journal News.

The individual, who was not named in the Secret Service’s statement, reportedly turned around, ran aggressively towards the officer and in a “drawing motion” withdrew an “object” from his clothing. The suspect then crouched into a “shooter’s stance” and was then shot in the torso by the officer.

The Secret Service statement does not specify whether the individual was armed, but he was reportedly unarmed according to law enforcement sources who spoke with CNN. Berryman’s sister, Sonya Hemmelgarn, affirmed that initial reports were inaccurate and told the Dayton Daily News that “Myron was not armed,” according to the Journal News.

“They said he had a weapon? He ran toward him?” Hemmelgarn told the Washington Post. “This is crazy. He is a man of God. He would not have a weapon for sure. His weapon is the word of God.”

She also told the Post that he could have been participating in protests outside the White House.
