2 German men get lengthy sentences in big child abuse case

 

BERLIN β€” A court in western Germany convicted two 39-year-old men Friday of serious sexual abuse of children in a case linked to a large network of suspects uncovered last year.

 

The regional court in Moenchengladbach sentenced a man from nearby Krefeld to 13 years and six months in prison for raping his daughter and the niece of the other defendant, who was sentenced to 14 years and six months.

 

The men, whose lawyers indicated they would appeal the verdicts, weren't identified for privacy reasons.

 

Police said officers stumbled across images the men had produced and shared online after raiding the home of another man from the western town Bergisch Gladbach.

 

The discovery of so-called Bergisch Gladbach network, which investigators said may have involved thousands of people, recently prompted the German government to announce it would toughen laws against child sex abuse and child abuse images.

Nassau Man Accused Of Trafficking Girl For Sex

 

NASSAU COUNTY, NY β€” A Baldwin man was arraigned this week on charges of trafficking a teenager across Long Island, Queens and Brooklyn for sex.

 

Jordan McCormick, 29, of Baldwin, was arraigned on three counts of sex trafficking, one count of second-degree promoting prostitution and one count of third-degree promoting prostitution. Bail was set at $500,000 bond or $250,000 cash. He is due back in court Sept. 18.

 

"For nearly a year, Jordan McCormick allegedly drugged and physically abused a young woman in order to sell her for sex for his own profit," said Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas in a statement. "Sex traffickers intentionally target vulnerable young people by luring them with false promises of safety, security and a feeling of belonging. My office is committed to holding defendants like Jordan McCormick accountable for their exploitative crimes."

β€˜Russian Collusion Hoax’ Exposed In New β€˜Obamagate’ Movie On Comey’s FBI

 

The producer of the pro-life film β€œGosnell” is raising funds for another project; this time tackling the β€œRussian Collusion Hoax” that has entangled the FBI and top intelligence and national security officials for years, according to a Thursday press release for the project.

Filmmaker and journalist Phelim McAleer, who is a contributor to The Daily Wire, plans to release the movie β€œObamagate” in early October.

The film project, which is being crowdfunded, will focus on the FBI under former director James Comey, as well as key players in ex-special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged Russian collusion such as former FBI special agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page. The October release was picked to counter the narratives of Showtime’s β€œbig budget, pro-Comey mini-series called β€˜The Comey Rule’” and Strozk’s upcoming, β€œself-aggrandising memoir.”

β€œShowtime has created β€˜The Comey Rule’ which is based on a political fairytale and a conspiracy theory that is told by the left in a shameless attempt to take down President Trump. It’s simply untrue, and despite this, the media is gushing over β€˜The Comey Rule.’ Americans deserve the truth,” McAleer said.

β€œShowtime is spending tens of million[s] of dollars to tell this lie and that’s why we’re creating β€˜Obamagate The Movie,’ to set the record straight,” he continued. β€œWhereas Showtime and β€˜The Comey Rule’ rely on dramatic fiction written by left-wing Hollywood writers, β€˜Obamagate The Movie’ is non-fiction and it is solely composed of the texts, emails, messages, and transcripts that clearly show the Deep State plot to take down President Trump. McAleer’s movie is named after former President Barack Obama who, though he is not a prominent figure in the film itself, was instrumental in the launch of the original FBI investigation into the Trump campaign over alleged Russian collusion.

β€œThe Russia Collusion Hoax started under his presidency, under his FBI,” McAleer told The Daily Wire in an email. β€œWe had the outgoing administration spying on senior members of their political rivals campaign. If republicans did this – it would be treated like WaterGate but the mainstream media just seem to want the scandal to go away.”

Actors Dean Cain and Kristy Swanson will play β€œβ€˜FBI Lovebirds’ Peter Strzok and Lisa Page,” while John James, who starred in the original Dynasty TV series, will play James Comey.

β€œObamagate” will be filmed β€œHamilton style” as a play. The script has been pulled β€œcompletely verbatim” from FBI files, court documents, text messages, and tweets sent out by the real people being portrayed.

β€œIf you wanted to tell a story with just one perspective, you can do anything you want and you can change people’s perceptions of what took place,” Cain said in the press release. β€œWhen you do something verbatim, the words are there and it’s pretty darn clear. The verbatim texts themselves are damning.”

BP, Major Wall Street Banks Want Carbon Pricing Policy In U.S.

 

Supermajor BP, as well as many major Wall Street banks, recommends that the U.S. set a price on carbon in a report commissioned by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which recognizes that climate change could pose a risk to the financial markets.

 

The report from CFTC’s Climate-Related Market Risk Subcommittee – which includes, among others, executives from BP, ConocoPhillips, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Vanguard, Allianz Global Investors, and the Environmental Defense Fund – says that β€œBoth physical and transition risks could give rise to systemic and sub-systemic financial shocks, potentially causing unprecedented disruption in the proper functioning of financial markets and institutions.”

 

β€œThis report begins with a fundamental findingβ€”financial markets will only be able to channel resources efficiently to activities that reduce greenhouse gas emissions if an economy-wide price on carbon is in place at a level that reflects the true social cost of those emissions,” said the authors led by CFTC’s subcommittee chairman Bob Litterman.

 

The report was the first of its kind from a U.S. regulator, the CFTC, whose climate-related risk subcommittee recommends pricing carbon emissions.

 

Such action would need Congress to act. The report is non-binding, but it is the first time that a regulator on Wall Street says climate change could threaten the stability of the financial markets.

 

β€œClimate change poses a major risk to the stability of the U.S. financial system and to its ability to sustain the American economy,” the report said.

 

β€œThe central message of this report is that U.S. financial regulators must recognize that climate change poses serious emerging risks to the U.S. financial system, and they should move urgently and decisively to measure, understand, and address these risks,” the authors said.

 

However, a major hurdle to addressing these risks remains the fact that the financial system lacks comparable and consistent data and analytical tools to measure and manage climate-related financial risks, according to the report.

On the motion of James Otis, Boston’s distinguished lawyer, orator and Son of Liberty, the Massachusetts legislature created a letter inviting the thirteen colonies to send delegates to a congress in New York in October, 1765. Representatives from nine colonies appeared (Georgia, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Virginia did not send representatives). At this gathering, known as the Stamp Act Congress, the delegates petitioned the king and Parliament, making note of their rights and declaring their protests against the Stamp Act. A flag of nine alternating red and white vertical stripes (perhaps representing the nine colonies that attended the congress) was soon produced by the Sons of Liberty in Boston. It became known as the β€œRebellious Stripes” and was a symbol of their protest against British taxation and support of American economic freedom.

 

On August of 1767, a flag pole was erected at the Liberty Tree in Boston, extending through and above the tree’s highest branches. The β€œRebellious Stripes” was occasionally flown from that flag pole. A flag of thirteen alternating red and white horizontal stripes, known as the β€œUnion Flag” may have also flown here. This later version of the Sons of Liberty flag represented the united thirteen colonies. One of these patriotic flags had flown above the Liberty Tree on two recorded occasions; July 31, 1769, when the despised Royal Governor Francis Bernard returned to England, and November of 1773, when British ships arrived in Boston carrying tea to be sold to American colonists under the Tea Act.

 

The original β€œRebellious Stripes” Sons of Liberty flag still exists. It was donated to the Bostonian Society by John C. Fernald in 1893. He obtained it from a granddaughter of Samuel Adams (not the famous patriot), who died in 1855. Today, the flag is displayed at the Old State House in Boston. It can be viewed, folded, in a controlled environment case, along with an original lantern that hung from Liberty Tree on March 18, 1766 to celebrate the repeal of the Stamp Act.

Palestinian uproar as Israel puts loudspeakers in Al-Aqsa Mosque

 

Israel soldiers installed loudspeakers over the northern and western walls of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday.

 

The speaker system allows Israeli forces to further disturb and violate Muslim worshippers in the mosque by making announcements and instructions to those in the compound.

 

It is the third set of loudspeakers Israeli authorities have set up since 2017, enabling them to broadcast to the northern side of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound from the inside and outside, in parallel with the one run by the Islamic Waqf (endowment) in charge of the religious site.

 

Jordan has condemned the move as part of what it described as β€œcontinuous Israeli violations”.

 

Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Deifallah Fayez, said the Israeli forces’ β€œabsurd practices” at the UNESCO world heritage site are β€œirresponsible and constitute a provocation of the feelings of Muslims around the world.”

 

He urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility and exert pressure on Israel to halt its attacks that violate international law.

 

The former grand mufti of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Ekrima Sabri, told Middle East Eye that Israel seeks to impose its sovereignty over the mosque and undermine the Islamic Waqf.

 

He said: β€œThe occupation’s measures against Al-Aqsa are invalid and illegal. We do not recognise them. We hold the Israeli government responsible for violating the sanctity of Al-Aqsa, because it is directly responsible for any aggression and it is the one that protects the settlers storming the site, encouraging them to increase their numbers.”

 

Al-Aqsa Mosque is the world’s third-holiest site for Muslims. Jews call the area the Temple Mount, claiming it was the site of two Jewish temples in ancient times.

Intra-Afghan Peace Talks Scheduled to Begin Saturday

 

Afghan government releases last six prisoners sought by Taliban

 

Disputes over prisoner release in Afghanistan were finally resolved Thursday, with the last six prisoners sought by the Taliban freed, and the long sought intra-Afghan peace talks formally scheduled for Saturday, in Qatar.

 

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be in attendance for the opening ceremony of the talks, and is reported to be flying to Qatar. The US would not be expected to participate directly in these talks, which are meant to sort out power-sharing for the Ghani government and the Taliban in post-war Afghanistan.

 

The talks were meant to happen quickly after the US-Taliban deal in February, but prisoner releases took a long time, with the Ghani government denying that they’d promised the releases, and the process of getting some released arduously slow. As recently as the past couple of days they were down to just a handful of prisoners.

 

Not everyone is happy, however, with the French Foreign Ministry issuing a statement of protest over the release of prisoners who had killed French citizens. Two of the six released today were in that category.

 

After nearly 20 years of war, a lot of the prisoners were accused of a lot of things, and the Ghani government considered many β€œhigh risk.” After they’d released thousands of prisoners, however, they were not willing to risk the peace talks over the last few, and finally released everyone.

 

The peace process is meant work out a lot of issues between the Taliban and government, but with Ghani having downplayed the chances of working out a formal power-sharing deal, there remains a risk that the early talks won’t amount to much.

 

This risks a resumption of violence, but perhaps more realistically will for the Ghani government to rethink matters. The US continues a drawdown at a steady pace, and the government team will be in a much stronger position if they aren’t negotiating after the US pullout is done.

The Secrecy-Shrouded Building Holding Giuliani's Command Center

 

Building 7 was the dark flat-topped 47-story skyscraper immediately north of the World Trade Center super-block, across Vesey Street. Its designation as 7 World Trade Center is somewhat misleading: whereas WTC 1 through 6 surrounded the WTC plaza and were completed in the 1970s, Building 7 was 300 feet from the plaza and its construction did not begun until 1985. It was of an entirely different architectural style than the other six buildings. It was completely destroyed late in the afternoon on September 11th.

 

Building 7 was privately owned from the beginning, in contrast to the other six buildings, which were publicly owned until the summer of 2001. Building 7 was formerly the headquarters of the junk-bond firm Drexel Burnham Lambert, which contributed to the savings and loans collapse and $500 billion bailout of the latter 1980s.

The Fed Has Loaned $1.2 Billion from its TALF Bailout Program to a Tiny Company with Four Employees

 

Every Wall Street bailout program that the Fed has created since September 17 of last year has, according to the Fed, been ostensibly created to somehow help the average American. According to the Fed’s Term Sheet for the Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility (TALF), it’s going to β€œhelp meet the credit needs of consumers and businesses by facilitating the issuance of asset-backed securities.” Not to put too fine a point on it, but asset-backed securities and related derivatives are what blew up Wall Street in 2008, creating the worst economic downturn, at that point, since the Great Depression.

 

According to the Fed’s TALF transaction data, it has made $2.6 billion in total loans. Forty-six percent of that money, $1.2 billion, went to a company that has 4 employees (outside of clerical workers) according to its filing with the SEC. Much of the Fed’s $1.2 billion was loaned at an interest rate ranging from 0.75 percent to 1.26 percent. The loans are set to expire in three years.

On the most recent transaction data report filed by the Fed for the TALF, it lists the borrower that received the $1.2 billion total as Alta Fundamental Advisers SP LLC-Belstar-Alta Series 1 and 2. It lists the Investment Manager for the borrower as Belstar Management Company LLC. Both Alta Fundamental Advisers and Belstar Management Company LLC have funds that previously registered in the Cayman Islands, according to their SEC filings.

The Fed is only selectively providing transaction level data for its myriad of bailout programs. As we previously noted, the Primary Dealer Credit Facility (PDCF) is one of the first bailout programs created by the Fed and yet it has never provided a drop of information as to who received the billions of dollars in loans under that program.

 

The Primary Dealer Credit Facility was the most notorious of the Fed programs during the 2007 to 2010 financial crisis. The Fed secretly funneled $8.95 trillion in cumulative, below-market rate loans to the trading units of the biggest Wall Street banks and their foreign derivative counterparties according to an audit belatedly provided to the public in 2011 by the Government Accountability Office (GAO).

 

The Fed’s hubris from 2007 to 2010 and its multi-year court battle to keep its transactions a secret from the American people make its actions today a critical area in which to demand transparency. Unfortunately, the Fed’s dealings are being essentially ignored by mainstream media – which is enabling ever more hubris.

 

Editor’s Note: This article has been updated to provide clarification on the amount of total loans made by the TALF and the percentage it gave to just one entity. The earlier version of this article cited the H.4.1 data from the Fed, which showed a balance of $11 billion for the TALF. "We are open for honest dialogue [regarding interference in the US elections]. However, for the dialogue to be honest, it is necessary to formulate one’s claims clearly, so that they can be understood," he said.

 

Lavrov noted that Russia had repeatedly offered the US to discuss "the absolutely baseless accusations" on US election interference. "We offered to relaunch cybersecurity consultations. <…We offered to make an official bilateral political statement by Russia and the US in which we both categorically undertake not to meddle in each other’s domestic affairs. This has been going on for several years. The Americans continue to slack off in all of these areas, still demanding that we stop the unlawful interference in their domestic affairs," the minister said.

 

The minister recalled that several years ago, the US approved a law in support of Ukraine, in accordance with which the US Department of State must spend $200 mln a year on direct financing of Russian non-governmental organizations and on working with the Russian civil society. "The US itself does not see anything untoward in promoting its interests via illegitimate means on the sly or even approving laws openly. <…If it’s not interference in domestic affairs, then I don’t know what it is," he stressed.

 

The minister also pointed out that in the run-up to the presidential election planned for November 2020, US politicians are often asked about who meddles in their election more: Russia, China or Iran. "According to the estimations of US officials, so far, the People’s Republic of China comes first in this competition. Of course, we regret coming in second. Fauci disagrees with Trump that US rounding 'final turn' on pandemic

 

Anthony Fauci on Friday said he disagrees with President Trump that the country has rounded "the final turn" on the COVID-19 pandemic, and warned Americans not to get complacent heading into the fall.

 

Fauci, the federal government's leading infectious disease expert, was responding to comments made by Trump during a press conference on Thursday, where he defended his comments made to Bob Woodward about deliberately downplaying the severity of the pandemic.

 

Trump said the U.S. was "rounding the final turn. And we're going to have vaccines very soon, maybe much sooner than you think."

 

Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said he disagrees with Trump's assessment, noting that if Americans aren't careful, the pandemic could worsen.

 

"I have to disagree with that, because if you look at … the statistics, they are disturbing. We're plateauing at around 40,000 cases a day. And the deaths are around a thousand," Fauci told MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell.

 

Fauci said he hopes there is not a post-Labor Day surge of cases like there was following Memorial Day and July 4th, because the country's infection rate is already too high.

 

"When you have a baseline of infections that are 40,000 a day and you have threats of increased test positivity in certain regions … what we don't want to see is going into the fall season, you don't want to start off already with a baseline that's so high," Fauci said.

 

When asked about the largely maskless crowd at Trump's outdoor rally in Michigan on Thursday night, Fauci noted that just because an event is outside doesn't make it safe.

 

"If you're outdoors and you're crowded together and you don't have a mask, the chances of respiratory transmission of a virus clearly are there," Fauci said. "Just because you're outdoors doesn't mean you're protected, particularly if you're in a crowd and you're not wearing masks."

 

Fauci, who previously said he doesn't think Trump was trying to distort the reality of the pandemic, admitted that there have been "disagreements" between himself and the White House about messaging.

In other words, Purim celebrates Jews lying, secretly penetrating the highest levels of government, and manipulating the leaders of an empire into mass-murdering perceived β€œenemies of the Jewish people.”

It's not terribly robust, but I only had a little time this afternoon to work on it. Here are some examples I made attached.

 

Just put in the meme image URL, then select the number of copies you want to make. Choose a higher number to have better variety of choices.

 

I made it on JSFiddle which is a completely free site. You don't need to create an account.

 

Just follow these steps:

  2. Click the "Run" button in the upper left-hand corner.

  3. In the lower right-hand quadrant, you'll see the form to fill out. Just paste in the meme URL, the number of copies you want, then click the "Make Memes" button.

 

The tool will then spit out memes with random boxes on it like the ones I've attached.

 

I'll try to work on it more in the future to make it more reliable, and add more variety.

Early on September 11, a series of Israeli airstrikes hit the northern Syrian governorate of Aleppo, where sensitive military facilities are located.

 

A military source told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that Israeli warplanes had fired several missile β€œsalvos” at the outskirt of Aleppo’s city center.

The SANA and Syria’s News TV released a video and several photos showing the interception of a number of missiles over Aleppo.

In 1998, my wife and I moved to NYC. She had some experience as a bond trader & and soon got a job at Cantor Fitzgerald on the 102nd floor of the North Tower. She became pregnant shortly after that and decided to be a full-time mom, so she left that job. Plane hit, and every Cantor employee (roughly 650 of them) who was in the office that morning died right there. She's still effected by it today.
