Ashland Police Chief Tighe O'Meara announced Thursday a criminal investigation has been opened into the cause of the fire saying he believes the circumstances around the fire are 'suspicious'.

 

Investigators are looking into the possible connection between the blaze and the death of an unidentified individual, whose body was found near the origin of the fire.

 

'We have good reason to believe that there was a human element to it,' O'Meara said of the Almeda fire Thursday.

 

'We're going to pursue it as a criminal investigation until we have reason to believe that it was otherwise.'

 

O'Meara did not elaborate on the suspicions of authorities but said police are working alongside the Jackson County Sheriff's Office on the investigation 'including the resulting death that occurred nearby along the Greenway.'

 

Sheriff Nathan Sickler confirmed Wednesday that a body had been discovered around a mile from the origin point of the fire along the Bear Creek Greenway in north Ashland.

Seems that (((they))) are hell bent on speeding up their plans for imposing worldwide depravity. Just in the last few days, state senator Scott Wiener passed SB145 further expanding the "rights" of pedophiles in California and now Netflix came out with the "Cuties" abomination. Strategically placed Netflix apologists are going to make the public outrage look like another "controversial" issue up for debate and, before we know it, anybody who opposes child rape will be losing their job, social media accounts and even bank accounts. Glad to see that many are giving Netflix a piece of their mind and canceling their accounts, but we cannot let up on this one and get duped again by making partial concessions which are guaranteed to be full blown takeovers by (((them))) ("Just one last amnesty," "Consenting adults have the right to do what they want in the privacy of their bedroom"). The close timing of SB145 and Netflix fiascos is certainly no coincidence ("There are no coincidences") and neither are the gradually louder proclamations of "experts" including psychiatrists that pedophilia is just a "preference" or that "there is no proof" that children are harmed. Anons, I believe this should be our hill to die on. If we cross that line, there is no civilized society left. The barbarians are at the door. Let's act now, before they gradually sway public opinion again, by calling them out publicly as much as possible, making sure our kids don't start getting brainwashed at school about this, trying to wake up friends and family on this issue specifically (in the last 24 hrs I’ve been having some luck talking about SB145 and “Cuties”), running for office for those who are politically inclined, putting pressure on current politicians. Would appreciate more suggestions for actions to combat this regression into a primitive babylonian state. There is some optimism here: Now that thanks to Q/Q+ we are aware of how extensive pedophilia is and how important it is to (((them))), we are a step ahead of where we would have otherwise been. We are still playing defense but we can do a lot to protect kids now. Ultimately, the only solution to pedophilia will be to break the cycle of repetition where many abused children become abusers themselves. Within one generation, a lot of pain and suffering could be prevented.

 

I predict that (((they))) will continue to flood media and entertainment with pedophilia related messages to desensitize us. They expect to get some push back, phone calls, emails, tweets. They don’t care. Their goal is to desensitize the public to the disgust one originally feels and which becomes less intense over time when one is constantly exposed to it. That’s why I believe that the time to reach the hearts and minds of friends, family and the public is now.

 

(Btw other recent examples of the media pushing the issue are the commercials re lawsuits by Boy Scouts for abuse and the NPR “Making Sense” 2hr 15min podcast about pedophilia with Sam Harris, in which there was graphic description of severe crimes against children, while the host and guest spoke about these atrocities matter-of-factly without emotion, disgust or outrage).

Logically’s fact-checking unit falls under the editorial department of Logically Ltd, which is registered in London and has offices in India and the UK. The unit, which employs 24 people directly involved in fact-checking, answers directly to an editor responsible for all editorial matters. Its fact-checks focus largely, but not solely, on India, the UK, and the US. It has plans to beef up its US operation in anticipation of the Presidential elections later this year. The fact-checking unit was boosted considerably earlier this year and is undoubtedly one of the biggest dedicated fact-checking operations currently operating. Being part of an IT company Logically is doing some interesting work using AI and other tech as part of its workflow. But, importantly, the tech is an enabler and not intended to replace the work of humans in the fact-checking process. At the heart of their fact-checking offering is a free Android and iOS app that allows users to submit suspicious online or WhatsApp content to be checked by the Logically team. Users can also upload images for verification via the app.

 

As a for-profit company, Logically is exploring ways of monetising its fact-checking while maintaining the integrity and independence of its editorial and fact-checking departments.

 

Of particular interest was their pro-bona work during the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly to detect and track election misinformation. The aim of this initiative, they say, was to help stop the spread of misinformation during the election and mitigate the risks of any consequent civil unrest.

 

They also partnered, again without any compensation, with the Mysore police in 2020, to provide them with a weekly report on COVID-19 misinformation circulating in the region.

 

Logically does not rule out charging for this and other similar services in the future with, they say, necessary safeguards in place to keep the commercial and editorial aspects isolated from one another.

 

They also offer bespoke fact-checking services to users of its app and to B2B clients, well as developing technology to combat mis- and disinformation to a variety of clients, ranging from individuals to newsrooms and governments.

Venezuela says it captured 'US spy' targeting two oil refineries with 'heavy, specialized' weapons

President NIcolas Maduro of Venezuela has announced the capture of “an American spy” with heavy weapons and money near two refineries in the state of Falcon. The man is said to be a Marine who worked for the CIA in Iraq.

 

The spy was trying to collect information on the refineries in Amuay and Cardón, Maduro said in a televised address on Friday. The two facilities are located on the Paraguaná Peninsula, along the Venezuelan coast just south of Aruba.

 

According to the president, the detained American is a member of the US Marine Corps who worked with the CIA in Iraq, and was captured with “heavy, specialized weapons and a large amount of cash.”

 

Maduro added that he ordered heightened security at all Venezuelan refineries after the spy was captured. Earlier, he said, the country’s Petroleum Ministry discovered and thwarted a plan “to cause an explosion” at the El Palito refinery in Carabobo, west of Caracas…

 

…The US government denied any knowledge or involvement in the operation. So did Guaido, insisting he had “no link, commitment or responsibility to Silvercorp or its actions.” Earlier in May, however, the Washington Post had published a 41-page contract between Guaido and Silvercorp referring to him as “commander in chief.”

 

Denman told the Venezuelan authorities the company’s executives had met with Guaido while he was visiting the White House. He and the other Green Beret, Airan Berry, were sentenced last month to 20 years in prison over the plot.

50 GOP Congressmen Ask DOJ to Investigate Who May Be Funding Riots

 

Dozens of Republican House lawmakers on Thursday requested the Department of Justice to investigate individuals or groups funding and organizing the ongoing riots and civil unrest.

 

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) led the total of 50 lawmakers in sending a letter to Attorney General William Barr calling for those behind the riots to be investigated.

 

“We write to share our deep concerns regarding the ongoing violence that has gripped American cities and threatened the rule of law across our nation,” the letter reads. “ANTIFA and other left-wing anarchist groups have unleashed a barrage of totalitarian attacks on our country in recent months, including accosting a sitting U.S. Senator, hijacking peaceful rallies, organizing armed riots, destroying property, burning buildings, stealing livelihoods, and spreading hate.”

 

Rep. Buck said of the letter in a statement: “ANTIFA and other far-left anarchist groups have wreaked havoc on our nation for far too long. Americans deserve to feel safe and secure in their own communities. It is time that AG Barr and the DOJ take action to investigate and prosecute the groups responsible for these violent riots. I am proud to lead this effort with my colleagues to put a stop to these coordinated attacks that have subverted our system of government and way of life.”

 

The congressional request comes after acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Chad Wolf said that the DOJ had launched an investigation into the organization of the violent protests, sparked the police-involved death of George Floyd and shooting of Jacob Blake.

A Democrat has suddenly bowed out of the US House race in Georgia citing “personal reasons,” clearing the path for Republican contender Marjorie Taylor Greene, the alleged QAnon supporter who is now running unopposed.

Logically, a developer of artificial intelligence software and a team of experts focused on news and fact checking, says it is expanding its news checking service to the U.S., and is looking to open up an office in the U.S. The company did not say where its office will be located, but made its announcement from Los Angeles. Logically says it is using artificial intelligence and a team of "expert fact checkers" to work with government bodies, social platforms and consumers to ensure safer elections. The company says its expansion to the United States was specifically made to "bring validity and credibility" to U.S. election news. Logically's founder and CEO is Lyric Jain.
