Honoring St. Michael on His Feastday

 

In the Middle Ages, the feast of St. Michael (also known as Michaelmas) on September 29 was a holy day of obligation and an important day that marked a turning point in the year. Michaelmas, one of the four quarter days in Germanic nations indicating the end of a three month season, was a common day for men to enact laws and hold court.

 

All over Europe, Michaelmas marks the end of harvesting, fishing, fruit picking and other summer activities. Catholic peasants especially invoked St. Michael during these autumn months for protection in the dark months of winter that were approaching. From this day forth, peasants in northern countries would begin lighting candles in their homes in the evenings.

 

Michaelmas comes at the time of the year when the wheat harvest is complete and the cattle and fowl are fattened. For this reason, the feast day was a perfect time for harvest festivals, with tables abounding with with plump geese and harvest grain bread. The abundance of harvest food led to the good custom of sharing the harvest feast with the poor.

 

In Ireland and throughout the British Isles, Michaelmas celebrations had three characteristic symbols: "glofe, gees, and gyngeuer" (gloves, geese and ginger). "The glove represented the open-handedness and generosity of the lord of the village, eating goose brought good luck in the coming year, and ginger provided protection against infection."

 

Some Michaelmas customs regarding the magistrates show well the glove's symbolism. In nations observing quarter days, the election of magistrates took place on this feast. The medieval man saw the connection between their earthly rulers and the celestial protectors. Why has normality not returned to the US and UK?

One of the main drivers of the school chaos in the UK has been the teachers/public service unions, who have seized on the crisis in order to leverage political power and carve out a platform in the national spotlight. Union officials repeated the fallacious claim that schools were no longer safe unless a whole new raft of new rules, regulations and government assurances were put into place. The list of issues and concerns keeps growing by the day and is now threatening to bring normal education to a grinding halt.

 

As a result of this over-the-top fear-based approach to risk mitigation, the lives of students and their families across the UK have been unnecessarily disrupted. In just the first few weeks of school, many thousands of students have already been removed from school and sent home and placed under under 14 day house arrest-quarantine order by school administrators – all because another student in school or a teacher had tested PCR positive for COVID.

 

Many schools are also ordering all primary, secondary and high school students to remain under house arrest at home over their half-term break, supposedly to “stop the spread of the virus.”

 

British authorities have even gone so as to demand that university students remain on campus over the Christmas break in order “stop the spread of COVID to their families back home.”

 

All of this is taking place at a time where hospitalisations and deaths due to COVID have dropped to near zero in the UK. In other words: the ‘pandemic’, if it ever was one, is now over.

Authorities arrested 30 people on Saturday night in Portland after a relatively calm day of protests, despite dueling demonstrations which Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell said were “free from serious violence.”

We Don't Need A Higher Minimum Wage; We Need To Fix Our Money

 

You’ve almost certainly heard about the “fight for $15” movement to increase the minimum wage. Well, some activists have upped the ante. How does “Fight for $20” strike you?

 

Here’s the problem, these people are trying to solve a legitimate problem with a really bad solution.

 

Last year, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) called for a $20 national minimum wage. And why not? If $15 is good, wouldn’t $20 be better? In fact, why not go for $30 an hour. Or $100? If you can just arbitrarily assign a number to wages without consequences, why not go really big?

 

This reveals the problem with progressive thinking on wages. They know at some level you can’t force wages to infinity. But they have no actual economic principle upon which to peg their policy. They just throw out arbitrary numbers based on political considerations and feelings. If Bernie is going to run on $15 an hour, Tlaib can one-up him by pushing for $20. Somebody else can come off as even more compassionate by demanding $25.

 

The problem with all of this political posturing is it eventually drives actual policy. We’re already seeing moves for a $20 an hour minimum wage. The Aurora County, Colorado, City Council recently shot down a plan to raise the city’s minimum wage to $20 by 2027. But it’s only a matter of time before someplace approves this nonsense.

 

And no matter how compassionate it may seem, these policies have horrible economic consequences. In the end, basic economics always wins.

 

There’s an even bigger problem underlying all this. We don’t have a wage problem. We have a money problem.

 

Minimum wage advocates seek to solve a legitimate problem facing American workers: their dollars buy less and less every year. But simply mandating employers fork over more dollars is a little like putting a band-aid on an amputation. It doesn’t do anything to address the underlying problem.

 

Our money is broken, and we need to fix it.

 

The US government’s monetary policy devalues our currency, and that means less purchasing power for you and me. Simply put, when the government debases the currency; a dollar no longer buys the same amount of stuff it once did. Quantitative easing devalues the currency and the Federal Reserve has engaged in the practice for years. And they have put it on hyperdrive in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

There’s your $20 per hour minimum wage.

The main reason I voted for Trump in 2016 was the expectation that he would "drain the swamp" - including those behind the coup. These coup traitors would be exposed and brought to justice / indicted.

In 2017 and 2018, the FBI’s investigation into possible electoral collusion between agents of the Russian state and members of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign team prompted many conspiracy theories. Some of them were clearly designed to corrode and undermine the credibility of the investigation and the integrity of those perceived as being hostile or potentially damaging to President Trump, including former Federal Bureau of Investivation director James Comey, former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and those surrounding her, and several other Department of Justice officials, including Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

 

One particular theory — although it is more a cluster of speculation and innuendo than a coherent theory — went one step further, targeting former Justice Department lawyer and attorney for the National Institutes for Health Lisa Barsoomian, who is also Rod Rosenstein’s wife.

 

Conspiracy theorists have been speculating and alleging that a shadowy “deep state” conspiracy has forced records of and references to Barsoomian (supposedly a secret Clinton loyalist) be “purged” from the Internet. In reality, there are ample references to Barsoomian throughout the internet, and her record as an attorney remains well documented in court records over the past two decades.

 

Those alleging conspiracies and conflicts of interest in the fact that Barsoomian has acted as an attorney for former United States President Bill Clinton appear to understand little about the nature of a government attorney’s work — or else to be deliberately misrepresenting that reality. In March 2018, the conspiracy theorist web site Patriots4Truth.org wrote:

 

Barsoomian…represented Bill Clinton in 1998…You may be saying to yourself, okay who cares, who cares about the work history of this Barsoomian woman? Apparently someone does BECAUSE : Someone out there cares so much that they’ve “purged” all Barsoomian court documents for her Clinton representation in Hamburg vs. Clinton in 1998 and its appeal in 1999 from the DC District and Appeals court dockets (?) Someone out there cares so much that the internet has been “purged” of all information pertaining to Barsoomian. Historically this indicates that the individual is a protected CIA operative.

Nobody has “purged all Barsoomian court documents” relating to her role in the 1998 case Hamburg vs. Clinton. This is false. It took us only a few minutes to find that case on a court records database and locate a document written and signed by Barsoomian.

 

In 1998, a Wyoming military veteran named Al Hamburg — an eccentric “perennial candidate” and letter-writer who once attempted to register his dog as a presidential candidate — filed a civil rights case against Clinton in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief. Hamburg alleged anti-white discrimination by Clinton and claimed that the president was part of a conspiracy to bring about an “alien invasion” by Mexican-American military members. He demanded an upgrade to his Vietnam-era “undesirable discharge” from the Army, along with three months’ pay allegedly due to him since 1967, and “at least ten thousand dollars.”

 

Clinton’s response to Hamburg’s claims is signed by several Justice department officials — including Barsoomian, who was acting in her capacity as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. The case was quickly dismissed by a judge.

 

Far from being the smoking gun in an elaborate, decades-long conspiracy, Barsoomian’s role in the case singled out by the conspiracy theorists was utterly mundane, routine, and entirely in keeping with the ordinary course of her job as an attorney in the Department of Justice. The spurious, factually inaccurate claim appears to have originated in a June 2017 blog post written by the controversial conservative political consultant Roger Stone, who was briefly Trump’s campaign manager in 2015. On his web site, Stone wrote:

What is especially notable about this particular line of argument is its insidious misrepresentation of the work of a government attorney.

 

Neither Barsoomian nor Lawrence were acting as attorneys in private practice, and neither represented Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, anyone else in a personal capacity. As United States attorneys, it would at times have been part of their job to act in court on behalf of the President of the United States and other government officials, departments and agencies.

 

Naturally, this also extends to Republican politicians, appointees and Republican-run agencies and departments, something that Stone and other conspiracy theorists fail to mention. As part of their Justice Department duties, Barsoomian and Lawrence also defended — among others — Colin Powell, John Ashcroft, and Tom Ridge, all Republicans appointed by former President George W. Bush.

I used to work as a janitor at a college. I used to watch all the kids the same age as me attend classes to poor to pay for a single class I figured I might as well get as close as I can. The professor used to leave extra credit problems on the hallway chalkboard in the evenings so when in to clean the rooms I would always see the problems and solve them in order to further educate the other students and frankly It was just fun. The professor took notice at the complex problems I was able to solve and sought me out which ofcourse I wanted no part of. To much baggage associated with answering a few simple problems anyways a little later down the road I found out alot that I didnt known about myself and ended up traveling around the world after going to Cali to retrieve my woman.

There is a longtime and incestuous relationship between the fixers who have been tasked with taking down President Trump, under the fake narrative of enforcing the law. James Comey worked in the DOJ directly under Mueller until 2005. Rod Rosenstein and Mueller go even further back.

 

James Comey wasn’t just some associate of Mueller back then, but rather his protégé. Under the George W. Bush presidency, when Comey was serving as Deputy Attorney General under John Ashcroft, Robert Mueller was Comey’s go-to guy when he needed help. The two men, as it came to light years later, conspired to disobey potential White House orders to leave Ashcroft alone when he was incapacitated in March of 2004. These two men, when together, will not obey orders if they think they know better. Being filled with hubris and almost two decades of doing just about anything they want, they always think they know better.

 

Rod Rosenstein, current Deputy Attorney General under Attorney General Jeff Sessions, is also a member of the Mueller Gang, having worked directly under Robert Mueller at the Department of Justice as far back as 1990. When Comey was still working as the Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division for the U.S. Attorney’s office in New York, Mueller and Rosenstein were becoming thick as thieves.

 

We look back at Rod’s loyal work for Hillary Clinton, when he became a clean-up man for the Clinton Administration as an Associate Independent Counsel from 1995 until 1997. He supervised the investigation that found no basis for criminal prosecution of White House officials who had obtained classified FBI background reports. He did a great job covering for the Team Bill Clinton, including covering for Hillary, as she was one of the people who had access to the reports, and may have even requested them. Convenient for the Clintons, no indictments were filed.

 

Having proven his loyalty to the powers that be, Rosenstein was appointed to work in the US Office of the Independent Counsel under Ken Starr on the Whitewater Investigation into then President Bill Clinton. By some miracle, or clever work by insiders, the Clintons escaped culpability once again. Rod wasn’t alone, he had help from his co-worker James Comey, who was also making sure the Clintons were exonerated during the Whitewater affair.

 

Here is Robert Mueller, sitting in the middle of his two wunderkinds, making sure the path before them is smooth and obstacle free, and practically shepherding their careers along the way. Is it any wonder that once Jeff Sessions shamelessly recused himself from the Russia Collusion Conspiracy investigation and turned it over to his deputy Rod Rosenstein, that Rosenstein would reach out to his old mentor for help? Who is surprised when three of the top lawman fixers for the Clinton/Bush cabal have axes in their eyes for President Donald J. Trump?

Why New York City Is In Trouble: 114,041 Public Employees Earn Over $100,000

 

Mayor Bill de Blasio is aggressively pushing for a $12.4 billion federal bailout - because New York City faces an unprecedented $7 billion budget deficit over the next two years.

 

Last week, in a public relations stunt, the mayor announced a one-week unpaid furlough of himself and 494 employees within his office - a taxpayer savings of a paltry $860,000.

 

So, how did the city get so deep into trouble?

 

Our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com dug into the skyrocketing city payroll. In 2016, there were 76,166 employees with pay exceeding $100,000. By 2019, there were more than 114,000 - a 50-percent increase in six-figure earners.

 

In 2019, plumber helpers earned $172,988; thermostat repairmen made up to $198,630; regular laborers hauled away $213,169; electricians lit up $253,132; and plumbers pocketed up to $286,245.

 

School janitors ($256,000) out-earned the principals ($154,000). Four deputy mayors made over $241,641 each and 5,998 city employees out-earned New York governor Andrew Cuomo ($178,000).

 

The city has 331,520 full-time equivalent employees – up from 297,349 in 2014.

 

However, 592,432 people pulled a paycheck at some point last year at a total cost of $29.5 billion. (This included base salary, overtime, and “other pay,” but not healthcare or pension benefits. Those perks add 30-percent.)

Office of the Mayor - $52 million payroll cost

 

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s base salary was $258,541 plus free rent at Gracie Mansion and regular police-escorted trips to the gym – even as he closed schools, restaurants, and gyms.

 

First Deputy Mayor Dean Fuleihan made $278,980 and three deputy mayors earned between $241,641 and $246,124. Even de Blasio’s executive chef Feliberto Estevez cooked up $124,285.

 

First Lady Chirlane McCray, de Blasio’s wife, works within the Office of the Mayor as a volunteer. However, fourteen city employees aid McCray with salaries that cost taxpayers $2 million per year.

 

McCray’s aides included senior advisors, communications advisors, and a policy director along with a chief of staff, two deputy chiefs of staff, a press secretary, speechwriter, videographer, and others, according to news reports.

 

The head count of McCray’s payroll (14) exceeded U.S. First Lady Melania Trump’s staff (11). Michele Obama employed 24 staffers as First Lady.

District and Appeals Court, including her representation for Clinton in 1998’s case Hamburg. V. Clinton.

 

Her loyalties are clearly with the entities that make up the Deep State, as are her husbands.
