First VA 'Rona Death for Child Under 10

A child in central Virginia has died from COVID-19, the state’s first coronavirus death of a child under the age of 10.

The child died from complications of a chronic health condition and COVID-19, the state health department said in a news release Thursday. The department did not release the name of the child or any other descriptive information.

“Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the family and friends of this child,” state Health Commissioner Norman Oliver said in a statement.

While most children have escaped the virus’s most detrimental effects, Oliver said more than 80 children under the age of 5 across the country have died because of the virus. It has killed more than 180 between ages 5 and 17.

“While fewer cases of COVID-19 are reported in children compared with adults, children are not immune to the disease,” Oliver said. “At a time when vaccination efforts give us reason to be hopeful, we cannot let down our guard.”

Authorities do not plan to immediately vaccinate children.

ORLANDO, Florida — Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced a term she called “The Committee of 74,” a reference to the 74 million people who voted for former President Donald Trump, in an exclusive with Breitbart News.

During the interview with Breitbart News at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) hosted by the American Conservative Union (ACU), Blackburn said that people who voted for Democrat President Joe Biden are expressing “buyer’s remorse” already.

Our border is now totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden. Our great Border Patrol and ICE agents have been disrespected, demeaned, and mocked by the Biden Administration. A mass incursion into the country by people who should not be here is happening on an hourly basis, getting worse by the minute. Many have criminal records, and many others have and are spreading covid. Interior enforcement has been shut down—criminals that were once promptly removed by our Administration are now being released back onto the street to commit heinous and violent crimes. ICE officers are desperate to remove these convicted criminals, but Biden won't let them.

The spiraling tsunami at the border is overwhelming local communities, depleting budgets, crowding hospitals, and taking jobs from legal American workers. When I left office, we had achieved the most secure border in our country’s history. Under Biden, it will soon be worse, more dangerous, and more out of control than ever before. He has violated his oath of office to uphold our Constitution and enforce our laws.

There has never been a time on our southern border like what is happening now but more importantly, what is about to happen. Now that Biden has implemented nationwide Catch-and-Release, illegal immigrants from every corner of the Earth will descend upon our border and never be returned. You can never have a secure border unless people who cross illegally are promptly removed.

I had a great relationship with Mexico, and its wonderful president, but all of that has been dissipated by the gross incompetence and radicalism of the people currently in charge. The Remain in Mexico Policy was incredible, but immediately abandoned by Biden, probably because it worked so well. Likewise, our Safe Third Agreements in Central America were extraordinarily successful, so Biden foolishly ditched them too. We stopped payment of the hundreds of millions of dollars paid to them and then developed an excellent relationship that made our country and their countries more secure. We put in place powerful rules and procedures to stop the smuggling and trafficking, but the Biden Administration has abandoned these proven strategies and instead given the smugglers and traffickers effective control of our border.

Despite being delayed by years of litigation and politics by the democrats, the wall is almost finished and can be quickly completed. Doing so will save thousands of lives.

The Biden Administration must act immediately to end the border nightmare that they have unleashed onto our Nation. Keep illegal immigration, crime, and the China Virus out of our country!

Fort Lee, VA Being Considered to House Migrant Children

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The U.S. government is considering Army Garrison Fort Lee as a potential site to house migrant children as a way to help meet an increased demand in capacity needs.

Army Public Affairs at the Pentagon told 8News that, upon request from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the U.S. Army coordinated a site assessment at Fort Lee for HHS personnel to determine if certain facilities at the base might be suitable for temporary housing for unaccompanied children.

“The Army has not received a formal Request for Assistance (RFA) from HHS to house Unaccompanied Children on Fort Lee,” Jason Waggoner with the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs said in a statement.

In other words, there is no concrete timeline as to when or if migrant children at the U.S.-Mexico border will be transferred to Virginia.

This comes amid an increase in the number of migrant children arriving at the southwest border in recent months, putting pressure on shelters run by HHS that house the children, especially with COVID-19 mitigation efforts in place. Unaccompanied migrant children are housed at such shelters before they are released to parents or other sponsors in the United States.

Iranian militia groups claim to have active cells of operatives stationed in Washington, D.C., and other U.S. cities, according to chatter in online forums used by these groups.

Kawtheryoon Electronic Team, a Telegram network used by Iranian militia groups and supporters, claimed in a recent posting that Iranian "resistance cells are rooted even in America and its capital," according to a copy of the English-language posting captured by the Middle East Media Research Institute, which tracks radical groups.

WASHINGTON, March 5 (Reuters) - The U.S. government is evaluating a Virginia military base as a possible site to house unaccompanied migrant children amid a sharp rise in migrants arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) notice seen by Reuters.

A Pentagon spokesman confirmed that Fort Lee, a U.S. Army facility in Virginia, was under consideration.

The number of migrant children arriving at the southwest border has increased in recent months, putting pressure on HHS-run shelters that house the children before they are released to parents or other sponsors in the United States.

In the notice, HHS said it urgently needs to find more shelter space for unaccompanied minors. The department said it must “aggressively” find solutions for the rising number of children entering the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
