Is it possible for any sound logical mind to hope with any success to guide crowds by the aid of reasonable counsels and arguments, when any objection or contradiction, senseless though it may be, can be made and when such objection may find more favor with the people, whose powers of reasoning are superficial? Men in masses and the men of the masses, being guided solely by petty passions, paltry beliefs, traditions and sentimental theorems, fall a prey to party dissension, which hinders any kind of agreement even on the basis of a perfectly reasonable argument. Every resolution of a crowd depends upon a chance or packed majority, which, in its ignorance of political secrets, puts forth some ridiculous resolution that lays in the administration a seed of anarchy.

11. The political has nothing in common with the moral. The ruler who is governed by the moral is not a skilled politician, and is therefore unstable on his throne. He who wishes to rule must have recourse both to cunning and to make-believe. In April, an Alaska couple’s house was stormed by an armed FBI team, and ransacked while agents refused to show a warrant for several hours and demanded to know the location of Nancy Pelosi’s missing laptop:

An Alaska couple were rudely awakened on Wednesday April 28 when an armed FBI squad broke down their door and stormed their house while they were still asleep, handcuffing the couple at gunpoint and interrogating them for over two and a half hours while refusing to provide a search warrant.

Inn & Spa owners Paul and Marilyn Hueper had their front door broken down at approximately 9 a.m. without warning, though FBI agents claimed they had knocked on the door twice.

Vandenberg Air Force Base Transitions Into Space Force Base

The Santa Barbara base becomes one of the first Space Force renamed bases in the country

Vandenberg Air Force Base, an 80-year-old military base in Santa Barbara County, was transitioned into a Space Force Base on Friday, becoming one of the first such bases for the newest branch of the military in the U.S.

The now Vandenberg Space Force Base originally started as Army base Camp Cooke in 1941. Initially a troop training base during WWII, the Camp quickly changed what it was during the subsequent years, becoming a prisoner of war camp for German and Italian troops, being shifted back to a training base during the Korean War, and a federal prison until being formally converted into Cook Air Force Base in 1956.

The base soon established itself as a missile and, subsequently, a rocket base due to Cold War needs. Renamed as Vandenberg Air Force Base in 1958, space operations quickly grew there as well, with some of the first satellites ever being launched, and the base chosen as the West Coast Space Shuttle launch center in the 1970’s. However, the Challenger disaster in 1986 stopped that from becoming a reality, focusing on missile and satellite launch operations for the next several decades until the need for space launch capable military bases arose in the late 2010’s following the creation of the Space Force.

Vandenberg now becomes one of the first officially renamed Space Force centers following the 2020 renaming of Florida’s Patrick Air Force Base and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station into Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station respectively.

While other Air Force bases and stations are currently being utilized by the Space Force, including Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, only Patrick, Cape Canaveral, and Vandenberg have made the name change to date.

In a statement, the Space Force noted that the re-designations were crucial for both the identity of the Space Force and to confirm to both the public and military alike what the new changes are, similar to how many Army Air Corps airfields were converted to Air Force use following WWII.

Coast Guard Reopens Lower Mississippi River After Closure Sparks Massive Barge Jam

Update (1327ET): The US Coast Guard has reopened part of the lower Mississippi River to vessel traffic near Memphis Friday afternoon after being shut down for two days following the discovery of a bridge crack.

The river's closure created a logistical shitshow as more than1,000 barges filled with farm goods were unable to traverse the waterway.

"Based on the information provided to us by the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the Coast Guard has determined that transit under the I-40 bridge is safe for maritime traffic," said Coast Guard Capt. Ryan Rhodes, captain of the Port of Memphis.

Meanwhile, on land, with the I-40 bridge likely closed for weeks, if not months, traffic hell has been unleashed.

The class of people who most willingly enter into secret societies are those who live by their wits, careerists, and in general people, mostly light-minded, with whom we shall have no difficulty in dealing and in using to wind up the mechanism of the machine devised by us. Our legal staff will serve not beyond the age of 55, firstly because old men more obstinately hold to prejudiced opinions, and are less capable of submitting to new directions, and secondly because this will give us the possibility by this measure of securing elasticity in the changing of staff, which will thus the more easily bend under our pressure: he who wishes to keep his place will have to give blind obedience to deserve it. 21. As you see, I found our despotism on right and duty: the right to compel the execution of duty is the direct obligation of a government which is a father for its subjects. 26. The budgets of income and expenditure will be carried out side by side that they may not be obscured by distance one to another.

27. The reforms projected by us in the financial institutions and principles of the GOYIM will be clothed by us in such forms as will alarm nobody. 28. You understand perfectly that economic arrangements of this kind, which have been suggested to the GOYIM by us, cannot be carried on by us.

29. Every kind of loan proves infirmity in the State and a want of understanding of the rights of the State. Loans hang like a sword of Damocles over the heads of rulers, who, instead of taking from their subjects by a temporary tax, come begging with outstretched palm to our bankers. Foreign loans are leeches which there is no possibility of removing from the body of the State until they fall off of themselves or the State flings them off. But the GOY States do not tear them off; they go on in persisting in putting more on to themselves so that they must inevitably perish, drained by voluntary blood-letting.

30. What also indeed is, in substance, a loan, especially a foreign loan? A loan is - an issue of government bills of exchange containing a percentage obligation commensurate to the sum of the loan capital. If the loan bears a charge of 5 per cent, then in twenty years the State vainly pays away in interest a sum equal to the loan borrowed, in forty years it is paying a double sum, in sixty - treble, and all the while the debt remains an unpaid debt.

31. From this calculation it is obvious that with any form of taxation per head the State is baling out the last coppers of the poor taxpayers in order to settle accounts with wealthy foreigners, from whom it has borrowed money instead of collecting these coppers for its own needs without the additional interest.

32. So long as loans were internal the GOYIM only shuffled their money from the pockets of the poor to those of the rich, but when we bought up the necessary persons in order to transfer loans into the external sphere, (Woodrow Wilson and F.D. Roosevelt) all the wealth of States flowed into our cash-boxes and all the GOYIM began to pay us the tribute of subjects.

33. If the superficiality of GOY kings on their thrones in regard to State affairs and the venality of ministers or the want of understanding of financial matters on the part of other ruling persons have made their countries debtors to our treasuries to amounts quite impossible to pay it has not been accomplished without, on our part, heavy expenditure of trouble and money.

34. Stagnation of money will not be allowed by us and therefore there will be no State interest-bearing paper, except a one per-cent series, so that there will be no payment of interest to leeches that suck all the strength out of the State. The right to issue interest-bearing paper will be given exclusively to industrial companies who find no difficulty in paying interest out of profits, whereas the State does not make interest on borrowed money like these companies, for the State borrows to spend and not to use in operations. (Now we know why President Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 when he refused to borrow any more of the "Bank Notes" from the bankers of the Federal Reserve Bank and began circulating non-interest bearing "Notes" of the "United States of America"!!!).

35. Industrial papers will be bought also by the government which from being as now a paper of tribute by loan operations will be transformed into a lender of money at a profit. This measure will stop the stagnation of money, parasitic profits and idleness, all of which were useful for us among the GOYIM so long as they were independent but are not desirable under our rule.

36. How clear is the undeveloped power of thought of the purely brute brains of the GOYIM, as expressed in the fact that they have been borrowing from us with payment of interest without ever thinking that all the same these very moneys plus an addition for payment of interest must be got by them from their own State pockets in order to settle up with us. What could have been simpler than to take the money they wanted from their own people?

37. But it is a proof of the genius of our chosen mind that we have contrived to present the matter of loans to them in such a light that they have even seen in them an advantage for themselves.

4. But when the comedy is played out there emerges the fact that a debit and an exceedingly burdensome debit has been created. For the payment of interest it becomes necessary to have recourse to new loans, which do not swallow up but only add to the capital debt. And when this credit is exhausted it becomes necessary by new taxes to cover, not the loan, BUT ONLY THE INTEREST ON IT. These taxes are a debit employed to cover a debit …. Later comes the time for conversions, but they diminish the payment of interest without covering the debt, and besides they cannot be made without the consent of the lenders; on announcing a conversion a proposal is made to return the money to those who are not willing to convert their paper. If everybody expressed his unwillingness and demanded his money back, the government would be hoist on their own petard and would be found insolvent and unable to pay the proposed sums. By good luck the subjects of the GOY governments, knowing nothing about financial affairs, have always preferred losses on exchange and diminution of interest to the risk of new investments of their moneys, and have thereby many a time enabled these governments to throw off their shoulders a debit of several millions.

A people of small masters knows nothing of unemployment and this binds him closely with existing order, and consequently with the firmness of authority. For us its part will have been played out the moment authority is transferred into our hands. Drunkenness also will be prohibited by law and punishable as a crime against the humanness of man who is turned into a brute under the influence of alcohol.

2. Subjects, I repeat once more, give blind obedience only to the strong hand which is absolutely independent of them, for in it they feel the sword of defense and support against social scourges …. Police have arrested the leader of a neo-Nazi group in an early morning counter-terrorism raid at his Melbourne home.

The cancelation of the Swiss currency is a serious issue for they are no longer legal tender already. Much of the 1,000 franc notes reside outside of Switzerland. They are replacing the notes with new ones which is in line with the problem with currency in Europe, to begin with. They are NOT eliminating all paper money as of yet. This practice in Europe prevents hoard of cash and compels people to come forward and explain where they got the money.

Previously, in 1952, the national bank ceased issuing 5-franc notes but introduced 10-franc notes in 1955. In 1996, 200-franc notes were introduced whilst the 500-franc note was discontinued. The likelihood of redemption is nill if you are in the United States. I personally use to keep a few hundred dollars worth of most currencies for traveling purposes. What I had from India is worthless and now the Swiss. I suspect the Euro will be next and they will probably cancel at a minimum the 500€ notes if not the 100€.

This is simply the agenda. I have explained the Russian cancelation of 1991. There they accomplished two things. First, they restricted the amount of old notes you could even redeem to 1,000 rubles. Second, the Russian currencies were throughout Eastern Europe and those states broke away. Hence, it was outright canceling the currency outside of Russia.

After they are finished with canceling all the currency, next will be to eliminate all cryptocurrencies. Then the Democrats are planning the same. A cyberattack that crippled fuel supplies on the East Coast of the US and sent gas prices soaring could have been an inside job conducted by American spooks, rather than foreign hackers, a prominent Russian IT expert has claimed.

After a massive systems failure caused the Colonial Pipeline to shut down, Natalya Kaspersky, the founder and former CEO of security software firm Kaspersky Lab, as well as one of Russia’s wealthiest women, made the explosive suggestions in an interview with RIA Novosti on Friday. She alleges that the US’ top foreign intelligence agency, the CIA, has a crack team of digital warriors who are able to masquerade as overseas hacking groups.

According to her, the group, known as UMBRAGE, is adept at hiding its online footprints. The existence of the team first came to light in a series of documents published by WikiLeaks in 2017 and subsequently picked up by American media. At the time, USA Today said that the shadowy operatives “may have been cataloguing hacking methods from outside hackers, including in Russia, that would have allowed the agency to mask their identity by employing the method during espionage.”

On Thursday, President Joe Biden announced that the devastating blow to America’s infrastructure had been dealt from abroad. “We do not believe the Russian government was involved in this attack, but we do have strong reason to believe that the criminals who did the attack are living in Russia, that’s where it came from,” he said.

However, Kaspersky pointed to the list “of the countries under whose hacker groups this UMBRAGE is disguised – Russia, North Korea, China, Iran.” She claimed that “therefore, it cannot be said with certainty that the attack was carried out by a hacker group from Russia, and that it was not a provocation made themselves from there, or from some other country,” she said.

The day before, the operators of the Colonial Pipeline said that service had resumed, and that “we can now report that we have restarted our entire pipeline system and that product delivery has commenced to all markets we serve.” However, they added, it could take several days before gas supply issues were fully resolved.

Hamas Attacked Israeli Chemical Plant With ‘Shehab’ Suicide Drone

On May 14, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Movement, announced that it had targeted an Israeli chemical plant.

In a brief statement, the Palestinian group said that the plant, which is located in the settlement of Nir Oz, was targeted with a Shehab Suicide drone. The group didn’t provide further details on the attack. However, observers speculated that the target was the Nirlat chemical plant.

Israeli authorities issued drone infiltration alerts in Nahal Oz as well as in the nearby settlements of Alumim and Be’eri. Nevertheless, no interceptions were reported.

The Shehab suicide drone, which appears to be a downgraded copy of Iran’s Ababil-2, was recently unveiled by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. The drone was used in two attacks on May 12 and 13. It’s specifications and capabilities are yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, Palestinian factions continue to launch rockets from the Gaza Strip at Israel. In the last few hours, several settlements, including Kiryat Malachi, Herzliya and Ashkelon, were targeted with dozens of rockets.

Some of the rockets bypassed the Iron Dome system, which resulted in several impacts. However, no casualties were reported by Israeli sources.

A day earlier, an Israeli woman from a settlement near the city of Ashdod died from an accident resulting from a rocket impact. The death raised the total number of people killed in Israel by Palestinian rocket fire since May 10 to seven. Up to 200 others were injured.

Despite reports of a ground offensive on the Gaza Strip, Israeli operations are still limited to aerial and artillery strikes. This may change soon.

Republicans and Democrats strike deal on '9/11-style' commission to investigate Jan. 6 attack on US Capitol

House lawmakers have reached a deal to create a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the Jan. 6 "domestic terror attack on the United States Capitol" and to recommend changes to protect the building in the future.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) announced the legislation to create the commission on Friday, which will be co-sponsored by committee ranking member Rep. John Katko (R-N.Y.).

"There has been a growing consensus that the January 6th attack is of a complexity and national significance that what we need an independent commission to investigate. I am pleased that after many months of intensive discussion, Ranking Member Katko and I were able to reach a bipartisan agreement," Thompson said.

The commission will be responsible for studying the facts and circumstances that led to the events of Jan. 6, when supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying the Electoral College results and declaring President Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 election. Rioters trespassed in the Capitol building and assaulted several Capitol Police officers during the day's events. One woman, Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, was shot by Capitol Police and later died of her injuries.

The makeup of the Jan. 6 commission will be similar to the 9/11 commission, featuring 10 commissioners, five Republicans and five Democrats, who will be appointed by House and Senate leaders in both parties.

"Commissioners must have significant expertise in the areas of law enforcement, civil rights, civil liberties, privacy, intelligence, and cybersecurity. Current government officers or employees are prohibited from appointment," Thompson's announcement said.

The commission will have the authority to issue subpoenas in the course of its investigation with joint agreement between the chair and vice chair or a vote by a majority of commission members.

A final report on the commissions findings and recommendations to prevent a future attack on the Capitol will be due by Dec. 31, 2021.

"Inaction – or just moving on – is simply not an option. The creation of this commission is our way of taking responsibility for protecting the U.S. Capitol. After all, the Capitol is not just a historic landmark, it is where our constituents come to see their democracy in action," Thompson said. "As such, we owe it to the Capitol Police and all who enter our citadel of democracy to investigate the attack. The timing of this action is particularly poignant with this being National Police Week, when we honor those who gave their lives to protect us."

First-time home buyers squeezed in tight housing market

Young people aspiring to buy their first home are already facing disappointment this year.

Rising prices are putting more homes out of reach, and pickings are slim because few properties have come onto the market this spring, when sales are supposed to take off.

Millennials are also burdened by heavy school debt and depleted savings that hurt their ability to qualify for a mortgage. Until their incomes start to rise meaningfully, many will be forced to keep hunting for a home while delaying the dream of ownership. This has weighed on overall home sales and economic growth throughout the rebound in housing the past three years.

“People need to see more money in their paychecks before they’ll take the plunge into homeownership,” said Greg McBride, chief financial analyst at Bankrate.

If early signs are any indication, there won’t a noticeable jump in new homeowners during the spring.

Amy Arnold and her husband began looking at listings in Denver late last year. The 28-year-old apparel buyer quickly found that the few homes in the couple’s price range got snapped up for more than asking price, leaving her exasperated at how “crazy” the market seemed.

For now, the couple has decided to keep renting a two-bedroom, one-bath house for $1,300 a month, hoping to have more money and find a better selection of homes once they jump back into the market.

“It’s very discouraging,” said Arnold. “Hopefully next year we will be able to buy, but there’s a chance we may have to rent again.”

Home prices nationwide have risen at more than double the pace of average hourly wages, making it harder for buyers to find the extra funds to save for a down payment.

In Denver, a limited roster of homes has fueled the rising prices and given sellers the upper hand. Forty percent of homes that sold in February went for more than the asking price, according to online real estate broker Redfin. That’s up from 21 percent a year earlier. “Typically, January, February even March are not quite as highly competitive as when you go into the spring months,” said Ilona Botton, a Redfin agent in Denver. “That’s not how it was this year. It has been multiple offer situations every single month.”

The limited supply of homes is widespread. In March, one measure showed it would take fewer than five months to sell all the previously occupied homes in the U.S. In a market more balanced between buyers and sellers, it would take about six, according to the National Association of Realtors.

What’s more, heavy demand for low-priced homes means their prices are rising faster. Homes priced at $135,000 or less jumped 9 percent for the year ending in February, according to data from CoreLogic. Homes that priced at $226,800 or more climbed 5 percent over the same period.

Beyond offering more money, some buyers are willing to waive home inspection or give sellers several weeks to move out following a sale, said Redfin’s Botton.

In general, areas with fewer homes for sale have stronger job growth that eclipses the pace of construction. Areas with larger inventories tend to keep the availability of housing in line with job growth.

In Columbus, Ohio, aviation company executive Ryan Holtmann had plenty of options. He and his wife started shopping for their first home at the end of last year. The couple visited about 15 to 20 houses before buying a three-bedroom home for $154,900 at the end of February.

CDC Education Guidelines are a Disaster for Children

The latest CDC guidelines for education will put America’s children even further behind the rest of the world in basic learning. Teachers have long known how important it is for children to learn together. After ordering schools closed for over a year, the CDC is finally allowing them to be reopened. Yet now, the CDC is pressuring schools to arrange classrooms so that all the pupils are “socially distanced” as well as masked and it is suggested also shielded from one another, as well as from their teacher. Shall we now throw out the window everything we know about child development in favor of social correctness?

Toward the end of his career, an obscure Russian psychologist named Lev Vygotsky discovered an extremely important truth about learning: that children absolutely need to work together in order to learn. He called this “scaffolding.” American teachers learned of his ideas from Mind in Society, a collection of Vygotsky’s essays translated into English in 1980. Since then, a generation of teachers has applied his theory of the Zone of Proximal Development with great success, seating their pupils in pairs and small groups for lessons that included cooperative activities the students completed together.

Enter the appalling “learning environment” being imposed by the CDC upon the American classroom in the name of “social distancing.” Pupils are to be masked there goes any opportunity for real communication. It also greatly complicates learning for autistic, ESL, and hearing-deprived students. Students are to be spaced “at least” three or even six feet apart (depending upon the CDC publication) and sit only in their assigned seats there goes any real chance for group work. Desks are to face in the same direction rather than facing each other there goes any opportunity for pair work. No amount of “colorful tape X’s” on the floor can help, especially since children are to be admonished “not to sit in X zones” there goes any chance of getting children out of their seats for large-group discovery. Not even equipment or supplies are to be shared – there goes any opportunity for discovery stations with computers or microscopes or hands-on materials. Woe to any child who does not come to school fully prepared; sharing is to be strictly limited, an exceedingly difficult situation for underprivileged children whose parents do not tend to provide so much as a pencil. Indeed, in my experience, very few children come to school fully prepared, so that this rule impacts them all.

There is no shortage of heresies these days.

If you want to adopt some blasphemous, perverted, fun house mirror reflection of Christianity, you will find a veritable buffet of options. You can sift through all the variants and build your own little pet version of the Faith. It’s Ice Cream Social Christianity: make your own sundae! (Or Sunday, as it were.)

And, of all the heretical choices, probably the most common – and possibly the most damaging – is what I’ve come to call the Nice Doctrine.

The propagators of the Nice Doctrine can be seen and heard from anytime any Christian takes any bold stance on any cultural issue, or uses harsh language of any kind, or condemns any sinful act, or fights against evil with any force or conviction at all. As soon as he or she stands and says ‘This is wrong, and I will not compromise,’ the heretics swoop in with their trusty mantras.

They insist that Jesus was a nice man, and that he never would have done anything to upset people. They say that He came down from Heaven to preach tolerance and acceptance, and He wouldn’t have used words that might lead to hurt feelings. They confidently sermonize about a meek and mild Messiah who was born into this Earthly realm on a mission to spark a constructive dialogue.

The believers in Nice Jesus are usually ignorant of Scripture, but they do know that he was ‘friends with prostitutes,’ and once said something about how, like, we shouldn’t get too ticked off about stuff, or whatever. In their minds, he’s essentially a supernatural Cheech Marin.

Read the comments under my previous post about gay rights militants, and you’ll see this heresy illustrated. That post prompted an especially noteworthy email from someone concerned that I’m not being ‘Christlike,’ because I ‘call people names.’ He said, in part:

Jesus Christ preached a Truth no deeper or more complex than a slogan on a poster in a Kindergarten classroom? Really?

A provocative claim, to say the least. I decided to investigate the matter, and sure enough, I found this excerpt from the Sermon on the Mount:

“We’re best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug, and a kiss from me to you, won’t you say you love me too?” Actually, wait, sorry, that’s from the original Barney theme song. God help us. We’ve turned the Son of God into a purple dinosaur puppet.

There’s no way to be certain, but most theologians believe that, despite popular perception, Christ looked nothing like this. I don’t recognize this Jesus.

This moderate. This pacifist. This nice guy.

He’s not the Jesus I read about in the Bible. I read of a strong, manly, stern and bold Savior. Compassionate, yes. Forgiving, of course. Loving, always loving. But not particularly nice.

He condemned. He denounced. He caused trouble. He disrupted the established order.

I’m sure they’d send Jesus a patronizing email, perhaps leave a disapproving comment under the news article about the incident, reminding Jesus that Jesus would never do what Jesus just did.

Personally, I’ve studied the New Testament and found not a single instance of Christ calling for a ‘dialogue’ with evil or seeking the middle ground on an issue. I see an absolutist, unafraid of confrontation. I see a man who did not waver or give credence to the other side. I see someone who never once avoided a dispute by saying that He’ll just ‘agree to disagree.’

I see a Christ who calls the Scribes and Pharisees snakes and vipers. He labels them murderers and blind guides, and ridicules them publicly [Matthew 23:33]. He undermines their authority. He insults them. He castigates them. He’s not very nice to them. Jesus rebukes and condemns. In Matthew 18, He utilizes morbid and violent imagery, saying that it would be better to drown in the sea with a stone around your neck than to harm a child. Had our modern politicians been around two thousand years ago, I’m sure they’d go on the cable news shows and shake their heads and insist there’s ‘no place for that kind of language.’ No place for the language of God.

Jesus deliberately did and said things that He knew would upset people. he stirred up division and controversy. He provoked. He didn’t have to break from established customs, but He did. He didn’t have to heal that man’s hand on the Sabbath, knowing how it would disturb others and cause them immense irritation, but He did, and He did so with ‘anger’ [Mark 3:5]. He could have gone with the flow a little bit. He could have chilled out and let bygones be bygones, but He didn’t. he would have been diplomatic, but He wasn’t.

He could have told everyone to relax, but instead He made them uncomfortable. He could have put them at ease, but He chose to put them on edge.

He convinced the mob not to stone the adulterer [John 8], and you’ll notice that He then turned to her and told her to stop sinning. Indeed, never once did He encounter sin and corruption and say: “Hey, do your thang, homies. Just have fun. YOLO!” The followers of the Nice Jesus love to quote the ‘throw the first stone’ verse – and for good reason, it’s a beautiful and compelling story – but you rarely hear mention of the exchange that occurs just a few sentences later, in that very same chapter. In John 8:44, Jesus rebukes unbelieving Jews and calls them ‘sons of the Devil.’

Phoenix HSI agents arrest 2 alleged sexual predators

PHOENIX, Ariz., — Special agents from the Phoenix office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), arrested two alleged child sexual predators and identified two victims under the age of 16 years old late last month. Both defendants face multiple counts of state child sexual exploitation and molestation.

“HSI focuses on identifying victims of these alleged heinous crimes,” said Scott Brown, special agent in charge for HSI Phoenix. “Arresting and prosecuting alleged predators hopefully brings some comfort to those who suffered abuse and to the community in general.”

Jerome Evard, 32, of Phoenix was arrested by HSI special agents April 26, based on a referral from the HSI Ottawa office who detected explicit sexual conversations in a parent control application downloaded on two smart phones. HSI Phoenix quickly determined the location and executed a state search warrant at Evard’s residence. Based on the interview and images of sexual assault of a minor found on his electronic devices, special agents arrested Evard. At the time of the arrest, Evard disclosed another adult male had a sexual relationship with the minor. He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail.

Following the tip of an additional alleged child predator, HSI special agents executed a search warrant April 29, which subsequently lead to the arrest of Jarrod Harrington, 32, of Mesa, Arizona, and the discovery of another child victim. Harrington was arrested on state charges of sexual conduct with a minor and molestation. Harrington was booked into the Maricopa County Jail.

The two minor victims have been identified and are currently receiving the appropriate medical and mental care by licensed professionals.

Both cases are being prosecuted by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Like all defendants, those accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

HSI encourages the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free Tip Line at 1-866-347-2423 or by completing its online tip form. Both are staffed around the clock by investigators. Didn’t anyone ever tell you that you can catch more flies with honey, Jesus? Of course, you’d catch even more flies with a mound of garbage, so maybe ‘catching flies’ isn’t the point. While we’re often reminded that Jesus said, ‘live by the sword, die by the sword,’ we seem to ignore his other sword references. Like when he told his disciples to sell their cloaks and buy a sword [Luke 22], or when He said that He ‘didn’t come to bring peace, but a sword’ [Matthew 10].

Now, it’s true that He is God and we are not. Jesus can say whatever He wants to say. But we are called to be like Christ, which begs the question: what is Christ like?

Well, He is, among other things, uncompromising. He is intolerant of evil. He is disruptive. He is sometimes harsh. He is sometimes impolite. He is sometimes angry. He is always loving.

Christ was not and is not a cosmic guidance counselor, and He is not mankind’s best friends, nor did He call us to be. He made dogs for that role – our destiny is more substantial, and our path to it is far more challenging and dangerous. And nice?

Where does nice factor into this? Nice: affable, peachy, swell.

Nice has nothing to do with Christianity. I’ve got nothing against nice – nice is nice – but even serial killers can be nice to people. They generally are exceptionally affable, except when they’re murdering. That means they’re nice to, like, 97 or 98 percent of everyone they meet.

I guess they’re following Christ almost all of the time, right? And tolerance?

Tolerance is easy. Any coward can learn to tolerate something. Tolerance is inaction; intolerance is action. We are called to refuse to tolerate evil. We are called to get angry at it and actively work to destroy it.

Who’d have guess it – anger is far more godly than tolerance ever could be.

Obviously I’m not suggesting that anger is automatically, or even usually, justified. Christ exhibited righteous anger; righteous anger is the sort of anger that naturally fills our souls when we confront the depths of depravity and sin. It is wrong to seethe with rage because someone cut us off in traffic or gossips about us behind our back. but it is also wrong to feel no anger when babies are murdered and the institution of the family is undermined and attacked.

Anger is good when it is directed at things that offend not us, but God. Just as Christ’s intolerance, like the intolerance we’re commanded to have, stems from a desire to save souls and defend Truth.

Even when we have righteous anger, we do not have carte blanche to act on it in anyway we please. But, according to the Bible, there are times to use strong language, there are times to cause a scene, there are times to hurt people’s feelings, and there are times when we might need to use physical force.

Jesus told us to turn the other cheek when we are personally attacked; He never told us to turn our backs entirely and let lies spread and evil grow.

So, enough with the niceties.

Christians in this country sound too similar to the Golden Girls song, and not enough like the Battle Hymn of the Republic. There’s too much ‘thank you for being a friend,’ and not enough ‘lightening from His terrible swift sword.’ We’re all hugging and singing Kumbaya, when we should be marching and shouting Hallelujah. We’re nice Christians with our nice Jesus, and we are trampled on without protest.

Enough, already.

I think it’s time that Christianity regain its fighting spirit; the spirit of Christ. I think it’s time we ask that question: ‘What would Jesus do?’ And I think it’s time we answer it truthfully: Jesus would flip tables and yell. Maybe we ought to follow suit.

Federal Government Won’t Impose Vaccine Mandate, But Private Companies Can, Psaki Says

President Joe Biden’s administration had no plans to impose a federal vaccination mandate or database, White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed at a Friday press briefing.

Vaccine mandates or vaccine passports have become a divisive issue as the pandemic winds down and more and more Americans are receiving doses of coronavirus vaccines.

Democrat-led States like New York have already begun encouraging the practice of requiring proof of vaccination before participating in certain events.

Other states, such as Republican-led Florida and Texas, have gone so far as to ban private companies from requiring proof of vaccinations.

In lieu of the dissonance, Psaki confirmed once again that the federal government had no plans to require or support vaccine mandates, but clarified that private companies are free to do what they see fit.

The announcement came less than a day after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that fully-vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks outdoors or even indoors in most situations. The White House responded by ending its mask mandate for vaccinated people within the complex.

Psaki first established the administration’s opposition to a federal mandate in early April, arguing the federal government had no role in requiring a vaccine credential.

So, I am very excited for this opportunity. We are unified, working as one team, and the American people know that the stakes are incredibly high. Former President Donald Trump released a statement Thursday about new developments in the Arizona State Senate audit of the November 2020 election results in Maricopa County.

“A devastating letter written by Arizona Senate President Karen Fann on voting irregularities, and probably fraud, in Maricopa County during the 2020 Presidential Election. Even the database was illegally deleted after the subpoena to produce the information,” the former president said in the statement.

Arizona State Senate President Karen Fann identified those three issues in her letter to Maricopa County Supervisors Board Chairman Jack Sellers as: (1) ongoing non-compliance with legislative subpoenas, (2) chain of custody and ballot organization anomalies, and (3) deleted data bases.

“Senate President Fann has invited Maricopa County officials to a public hearing on May 18 to allow them the opportunity to try to explain what happened to the missing databases, ballots, and other significant issues,” former President Trump continued in Thursday’s statement.

“The Fake News and Lamestream Media is doing everything they can not to cover this major story. They just refuse to talk or report about it. They don’t want the United States or World to see what is going on with our corrupt, third world election,” the former president concluded.

The stage is now set for a potentially dramatic meeting between State Senate President Fann and Chairman Sellers of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors at the Arizona State Capitol on Tuesday.

President Joe Biden was certified the winner of Arizona’s 11 electoral college votes in the November 2020 election over former President Donald Trump by a margin of fewer than 11,000 votes out of 3.3 million votes cast.

Two million of those votes were cast in Maricopa County, where Biden’s margin over Trump was a little more than 45,000 votes.

Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election when a joint session of Congress convened on January 6-7, 2021, and counted 306 Electoral College votes for Biden and 232 for Trump.

Had Trump won Arizona’s 11 electoral college votes (where Biden’s margin of victory was less than 11,000 votes), Georgia’s 16 electoral college votes (where Biden’s margin of victory was less than 12,000 votes), and Wisconsin’s 10 electoral college votes (where Biden’s margin of victory was less than 21,000 votes), the Electoral College contest would have been a 269 to 269 tie, which would have thrown the election into the House of Representatives, where each state delegation has one vote.

When the 117th Congress convened in Washington, DC on January 3, 2021, 27 state delegations in the House of Representatives were Republican majority, 20 were Democrat majority, and three (Michigan, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania) were equally split between Democrats and Republicans, indicating that a presidential contest thrown into the House of Representatives due to an Electoral College tie would have resulted in the re-election of Donald Trump as president.
