The Biden administration should force China to pay restitution for the deaths and economic havoc caused by the coronavirus, according to retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, who was a senior National Security Council official in the Trump White House.

 

Kellogg, in a new doctrine produced by the America First Policy Institute, a nonprofit research group, says the coronavirus pandemic must serve as a wake-up call to the American people and government about China's threat to global stability.

 

"By immediately holding China accountable through restitution efforts and building new global efforts focused narrowly on violations of international standards and human rights, the United States will undercut China's long-term ambitions," Kellogg and his colleagues write, according to a full copy of the policy paper obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

 

Kellogg and the America First Policy Institute will distribute the policy doctrine to congressional leaders and foreign-policy insiders to help create pressure on the Biden administration to take a tougher line on China. Kellogg said that one of the "disturbing pieces" about the U.S.-China standoff is that President Joe Biden does not appear to understand the severity of the threat. "That needs to be focused in on. We did it during the Trump administration, [but] I haven't seen that by this administration," Kellogg told the Free Beacon in his first interview on the policy paper.

While the United States has long viewed China as an economic and military competitor, the spread of the coronavirus must forge an approach that Kellogg and his colleagues call "great tragedy accountability." This policy approach includes the acceptance of the possibility that coronavirus leaked from a Wuhan lab, which the Biden administration has not fully embraced.

 

A primary peg in the doctrine includes forcing the Communist regime to pay the world restitution for its decision to hide the existence and severity of the coronavirus. While this plan has been floated by some Republicans in Congressβ€”and is supported by around two-thirds of Americans recently polled on the matterβ€”the Biden administration has given no indication that it is pursuing this type of accountability. Biden in his first speech before the United Nations General Assembly this month did not once mention China or its responsibility for the coronavirus.

 

Restitution efforts should be spearheaded by the United States, which could create a coalition of allies to create pressure on China, according to the policy paper. These efforts could be channeled through the International Court of Justice (ICJ), where China could be tried for its behavior surrounding the pandemic. If the Communist Party refuses to participate in an ICJ trial, there is existing precedent for the United States and its allies to boot China from a range of international organizations of import to Beijing, such as the World Trade Organization.

 

"The potential for restitution could follow the hearings and verdicts that result from efforts at the ICJ. One outcome of the hearings and verdicts could be an Emergency Relief Fund designed to pay restitution to the world's victims of COVID-19," the paper states.

 

Coronavirus accountability could also underpin and guide a vast array of U.S. policies towards China, including its military and economic approach, the America First Policy Institute says. A policy that accounts for the Communist Party's culpability may also drive many other nations to join the U.S. efforts to contain Beijing.

 

"The era of great tragedy accountability represents a new chapter in China's relations with the United States and the world," the paper states. "Though China's circumstances today differ from those of other nations during the last century, the United States has the responsibility to take action on behalf of Americans who lost their lives due to COVID-19, which emanated from China, and no longer let China get away with flouting the rules-based international order that the United States helped build and that has delivered untold global prosperity and security."

China gas explosion: Three dead and 30 injured after huge blast destroys buildings

 

A suspected gas explosion has torn through a restaurant in Shenyang, in northeast China's Liaoning Province, leaving three people dead and dozens injured.

 

Video footage has emerged on social media appearing to show the aftermath of the deadly blast that ripped through the building on Thursday morning.

 

It shows a street that has been filled with rubble and a building, some seven storeys high, ruined by an explosion.

 

Nearby buildings also appear to be damaged while the full extent of the blast has not yet been confirmed by officials.

 

A major rescue operation is now said to be under way after emergency services rushed to the scene.

 

Dozens of people have been rushed to hospital following the blast which happened at about 8.20am according to local reports.

 

Officials said that three people had died and more than 30 were injured after the 'suspected gas explosion.'

 

At least 110 emergency service personnel and 25 fire pumps were deployed to the incident on Taiyuan South Street in Heping District.

 

Officials confirmed the fatalities and the injured in a statement and said: "Many shops and residential buildings in the surrounding area were affected.

 

"After the incident, public security and fire fighting in Heping District, Emergency, Urban Construction, Xinhua Sub-district Office, gas power supply and water supply and other relevant departments have rushed to the scene for emergency response."

 

They also said an investigation had been launched into the cause of the explosion.

 

The explosion isn't the first blast to have rocked the region this year.

 

Last month eight people were killed and five injured in an explosion at a residential building in Dalian.

 

A liquid gas storage tank at an apartment building leaked and caused an explosion at about midday.

At the time, however, the causes of this devastating pandemic were still unknown, and superstitions abounded. Some people used the plague as an opportunity to scapegoat certain groups, blaming the plague on Jews, lepers, beggars, or other unpopular communities of people.

 

It was even more common to blame animals for the spread of the disease. While this turned out to be somewhat correct, 14th century Europeans became completely fixated on the wrong animal. Instead of trying to eradicate the disease-filled vermin that were ravaging the cities, some Medieval people decided black cats were to blame for all their problems.

 

It wasn't until Pope Gregory IX came to power in the 1200s that black cats became a symbol of bad luck. Before the 13th century, many societies, especially in Egypt and Asia, admired and even idolized cats, according to History Collection. And they might have had the right idea all along. Cats are natural predators, who help keep the pest population under control. They initially became popular in agricultural Europe precisely because they hunted down the troublesome vermin that pervaded the fields, without causing any damage to the crops.

In the early 1230s , however, Pope Gregory IX issued a decretal letter calledΒ Vox in Rama, which claimed that black cats were worshiped by heretics and maybe even used in Satanic cult rituals. The letter described a ritual where "a black cat descends backwards, with its tail erect. Black cats were rounded up and killed for about the next 300 years, which mostly likely only made the problem worse. Without cats around to hunt pests and vermin, the flea-infested rats that were the actual source of the plague thrived. With fewer natural predators, the rat population was free to explode and continue to spread disease.

Department of Defense study

A recent release of data from an important study by the Department of Defense merits very serious attention. It is called the Project Salus study. One indication of how important the data are is that the official website giving the data was taken down. But it is available on this site.

The title of the report is β€œEffectiveness of mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines Against the Delta Variant Among 5.6 Million Medicare Beneficiaries 65 Years and Older,” dated September 28, 2021.

The DOD study got access to the medical data for those people who were fully vaccinated. Of that group, 2.7 million got the Pfizer shot and 2.9 million got the Moderna one. Here are key findings:

There were 161,000 breakthrough cases.

There were 33,000 hospitalizations.

There were 10,400 intensive care unit admissions.

There were 3,381 deaths for a death rate of 2.1%.

He explained that on March 8, the same night he received his second jab, he began experiencing an earache. The pain became so unbearable that he was admitted to a hospital for five days, after his health seemed to have returned to normal.

A little over a week later, Latif, who previously kept fit and exercised regularly, suffered a stroke. After a few days in a hospital to recover, he was discharged and given a walking frame to help support his now severely inhibited mobility. β€œI would fall at home, my wife would drag me to bed,” Latif shared.

A few months later, on July 7, he suffered a second stroke, rendering his whole left side paralyzed. Latif explained that pain medication no longer mitigates his suffering and that he struggles to sleep at night. He said his life has been β€œshattered” before his eyes. As a result of his strokes, he is now confined to a wheelchair.

POLICE: Armed Employee Stops Workplace Active Shooter In Nebraska; 2 Dead

 

SUPERIOR, Neb. – An innocent employee and a recently fired grain elevator worker in the city of Superior are dead tonight, and another is in serious condition after the former employee began shooting inside the business Thursday afternoon.

 

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the incident and say there is no active threat to the public

 

Arriving officers found one person dead and multiple other victims wounded. The reported shooter was also injured.

 

The gunman is identified as Max Hoskinson, 61, his employment with Agrex β€œhad been terminated earlier in the day,” state police say.

 

Police say shortly before 2:00 p.m., Hoskinson returned to Agrex with a handgun and opened fire, striking three people. A heroic employee then retrieved a shotgun from an office and returned fire, fatally striking Hoskinson.

 

One of the victims shot by Hoskinson has been pronounced dead at the scene. Another has been transported by life-flight to Bryan Health West Campus in Lincoln with life-threatening injuries. The third victim has been treated and released from the hospital in Superior.

 

Hoskinson was transported to the hospital in Superior and was also pronounced dead.
