Russia and Belarus are now banned from importing high-tech products. Some banks have been cut off from SWIFT, the international financial transactions service. The United States and EU nations have also banned Russian flights from passing through their air space. At the same time, in protest at Moscowโ€™s military offensive, many international companies have withdrawn from the Russian market.

Chinese Hackers Reportedly Identified Hacking Six State Department Entities and European Entities as Well

 

In the US and Europe, China hackers are reportedly targeting US State Department entities and European entities related to the invasion of Ukraine.

 

Chinese hackers were reportedly identified hacking into six US State Department facilities in recent weeks.

 

A Chinese state-sponsored hacking group successfully compromised the computer networks of at least six U.S. state governments between May 2021 and February this year, according to research published by cybersecurity firm Mandiant on Tuesday.

 

APT41, which Mandiant claims carries out state-sponsored espionage on behalf of Beijing, took advantage of software flaws and quickly exploited security vulnerabilities that were made public by researchers. The hackers also adapted their tools to attack via different methods, it said.

 

โ€œAPT41โ€™s recent activity against U.S. state governments consists of significant new capabilities, from new attack vectors to post-compromise tools and techniques,โ€ the researchers said.

 

โ€œAPT41 can quickly adapt their initial access techniques by re-compromising an environment through a different vector, or by rapidly operationalizing a fresh vulnerability.โ€

 

Mandiant, the company behind Tuesdayโ€™s research, is a Nasdaq-listed cybersecurity firm based in the U.S. On Tuesday, Google said that it plans to acquire the company for around $5.4 billion.

 

In Europe hackers associated with China were also recently identified. According to Forbes Google identified a group of Chinese hackers in Europe.

 

Google reported on Monday that a Chinese group called Mustang Panda targeted European entities with lures related to Russiaโ€™s invasion of Ukraine. The companyโ€™s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) spotted phishing emails with malicious attached files with names such as โ€˜Situation at the EU borders with Ukraine.zipโ€™.

 

โ€œContained within the zip file is an executable of the same name that is a basic downloader and when executed, downloads several additional files that load the final payload. To mitigate harm, TAG alerted relevant authorities of its findings,โ€ Google wrote, adding: โ€œTargeting of European organizations has represented a shift from Mustang Pandaโ€™s regularly observed Southeast Asian targets.โ€

 

This isnโ€™t the first China hack reported in the US. In April 2021, China reportedly hacked the US government and companies in the US remotely.

The Department of Defense announced today its plans for $250 million in Fiscal Year 2020 Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds for additional training, equipment, and advisory efforts to strengthen Ukraineโ€™s capacity to more effectively defend itself against Russian aggression.

 

This reaffirms the long-standing defense relationship between the United States and Ukraine โ€“ a critical partner on the front line of strategic competition with Russia. The United States remains steadfast in its support for Ukraineโ€™s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

 

The USAI funds โ€“ $125 million of which was conditional on Ukraineโ€™s progress on defense reforms โ€“ will provide equipment to support ongoing training programs and operational needs. This includes capabilities to enhance Ukraineโ€™s defensive lethal capabilities and situational awareness in the maritime domain, air surveillance systems to monitor sovereign airspace, command and control and survivability of Ukraineโ€™s Land and Special Operations Forces through the provision of counter-artillery radars and tactical equipment, military medical treatment and combat evacuation procedures, and cyber defense and strategic communications to counter Russian cyber offensive operations and misinformation.

 

These efforts are complemented by increased security assistance support from key NATO Allies and partners. The United States continues to urge all allies and partners to enhance their support for Ukraineโ€™s security and defense sector. The United States also welcomes recent Ukrainian investments in U.S. defense articles that further strengthen our strategic partnership.

 

These security cooperation programs are made possible by Ukraineโ€™s continued progress on key defense institutional and anti-corruption reforms. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) says the Ragnar Locker ransomware gang has breached the networks of at least 52 organizations from multiple US critical infrastructure sectors.

 

This was revealed in a joint TLP:WHITE flash alert published on Monday in coordination with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

 

"As of January 2022, the FBI has identified at least 52 entities across 10 critical infrastructure sectors affected by RagnarLocker ransomware, including entities in the critical manufacturing, energy, financial services, government, and information technology sectors," the federal law enforcement agency said [PDF].

 

"RagnarLocker ransomware actors work as part of a ransomware family, frequently changing obfuscation techniques to avoid detection and prevention."

 

The flash alert focuses on providing indicators of compromise (IOCs) organizations can use to detect and block Ragnar Locker ransomware attacks.

 

IOCs associated with Ragnar Locker activity include info on attack infrastructure, Bitcoin addresses used to collect ransom demands, and email addresses used by the gang's operators.

On March 7th, VoterGa.org provided a 90-minute overview of their year-long investigation into the Fulton County ballot images. The evidence is astounding, and we list a dozen items below. The presentation slides are also helpful. Note: The Georgia SOS new โ€œRisk Limitingโ€ audit system for elections didnโ€™t pick up a single one of the issues VoterGA found in Fulton County. The โ€œRLAโ€ audit system is heavily pushed by the left. Now you know why.

 

Garland Favorito from VoterGA.org proclaims: โ€œIf this isnโ€™t the smoking gun, I donโ€™t know what is.โ€ (1:21:10) Literally, every vote in Fulton County has some type of manipulation problem. We know the actual (paper) ballots are not going to add up to the election results. Iโ€™ve been in the IT computer business for 40 years. These are not technical mistakes. This is electronic insertion. The (ballot) images were electronically tampered with. There can really be no dispute about thatโ€.

 

Whatโ€™s most incredible is the end of the presentation. There is a complete breakdown of any enforcement of election law in Georgia. To date, VoterGA has found no District Attorney in any county who is willing to prosecute the irrefutable fraud! Favorito explains: โ€œWe should be able to take our evidence, with our own attorney, to a grand jury in any county. But the District Attorneyโ€™s are basically facilitating corruption by blocking us from that access. All we have are ballot images. We canโ€™t conduct a real investigation like a county DA, or State AG could, or an Independent Counsel, which would be the best.โ€

 

Favorito goes on to explain: โ€œWe get blockedโ€ฆthe DAโ€™s donโ€™t want to prosecute any of this election stuff. The District Attorneys only want to operate in their own county. Weโ€™ve been trying to convince some of the District Attorneys that when you have a federal election, and that election is rigged, it impacts all of your voters in your own county. We explain the Grand Jury has jurisdiction to go out across countiesโ€ฆ.they can engage other grand juries.โ€ So far VoterGA has had no luck with local District Attorneyโ€™s โ€œnot even in rural Red countiesโ€ where Trump received 75-80% of the votes.

 

According to VoterGA investigator David Cross, things are much worse. Cross says: โ€œRight now, the vast majority of attorneys we talk to say they are scared that they will be blackballed by friends, by their colleagues. That the bar association may say they are undermining the constitution. So we need help if we are going to make this happen. Iโ€™m putting a plea out there to lawyers across Georgia. If this topic interests youโ€ฆ, please reach out to VoterGA.org.โ€ We expect those in the legal profession, private and public, will rise to the occasion. Itโ€™s well beyond the โ€œpreponderance of evidenceโ€ needed.

 

Most know President Trump was fully exonerated over a leaked phone call with GA election investigators. But a County DA in Georgia has decided otherwise. Favorito explains: โ€œAs you know, we canโ€™t take this to Fulton County because the District Attorney is Fani T. Willis. Sheโ€™s more interested in investigating a (Trump) phone call than investigating actual election corruption which is irrefutable. That tells you the kind of integrity the Fulton County DA has.โ€

Genetically Modified Mosquitoes Set to Be Released in California and Florida

 

Millions of genetically modified mosquitoes are set to be released in California and Florida in an effort to reduce the number of real, disease-carrying invasive mosquitoes.

 

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Monday approved use of the genetically engineered insects in pilot projects in specific districts across both states.

 

The mosquitoes were made by UK-based biotechnology firm Oxitec, which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in an effort to combat insect-borne diseases such as dengue fever, yellow fever, and the Zika virus.

 

According to Oxitec, its โ€œsustainable and targeted biological pest control technology does not harm beneficial insects like bees and butterflies and is proven to control the disease-transmitting Aedes aegypti mosquito, which has invaded communities in Florida, California, and other U.S. states.โ€

 

Since it was first detected in California in 2013, the Aedes aegypti mosquito has spread rapidly to more than 20 counties throughout the state, increasing the risk of mosquito-borne diseases being transmitted to humans.

 

Oxitecโ€™s new technology consists of genetically-modified male mosquitoes, which do not bite, that will be released into the wild where they are expected to mate with females, which do bite.

In mating with them, they will pass on a lethal gene that will effectively ensure their offspring die before reaching maturity.

 

Environmental Protection officials approved two projects on Monday, one with the Delta Mosquito and Vector Control District (Delta MVCD) in California and one with the Florida Keys Mosquito Control District (FKMCD) in Florida.

 

The Florida pilot project will be a continuation of Oxitecโ€™s partnership with the Florida Keys Mosquito Control District after its pilot project in the Keys in 2021.

 

โ€œGiven the growing health threat this mosquito poses across the U.S., weโ€™re working to make this technology available and accessible,โ€ Grey Frandsen, CEO of Oxitec, said. โ€œThese pilot programs, wherein we can demonstrate the technologyโ€™s effectiveness in different climate settings, will play an important role in doing so. We look forward to getting to work this year.โ€

 

The upcoming release of the modified insects will be the largest release in world history.

 

However, critics, including scientists, public health experts, and environmental groups, are concerned about what impacts releasing the generically altered mosquitoes could have on public health as well as the environment.

 

โ€œThis is a destructive move that is dangerous for public health,โ€ Dana Perls, food and technology program manager with Friends of the Earth, an environmental advocacy organization, told USA Today.

 

Perls said her biggest concern was the lack of widespread, peer-reviewed scientific data regarding the generically modified insects and the potential risk they could bring.

 

โ€œOnce you release these mosquitoes into the environment, you cannot recall them,โ€ she said. โ€œThis could, in fact, create problems that we donโ€™t have already.โ€

 

Jaydee Hanson, policy director with the Center for Food Safety said the โ€œexperiment is unnecessary and even dangerousโ€ while pointing to the lack of prominent tropical diseases in California.

 

โ€œThere are no locally acquired cases of dengue, yellow fever, chikungunya or Zika in California,โ€ Hanson said. โ€œReleasing billions of GE mosquitoes makes it likely that female GE mosquitoes will get out and create hybrid mosquitoes that are more virulent and aggressive.โ€

 

โ€œOther public health strategies, including the use of Wolbachia infected mosquitoes, could better control the Aedes aegypti in California and Florida,โ€ Hanson added.

โ€œUltimately, the buck stops with me,โ€ Longoria said, the Houston Chronicle reported. โ€œNow, we have a real opportunity to have a hard but necessary conversation in order to solve the problems for future elections and further bolster elections administration.โ€

 

She will officially step down on July 1 after she was asked to resign by Republicans and Democratic County Judge Lina Hidalgo.

 

Issues with the March 1 primary included a lack of support form the elections office, malfunctioning machines and lack of supplies, according to the Chronicle.

 

The county also found 10,000 uncounted ballots the week after the election was over. Officials said the votes contained around 6,000 Democratic ballots and 4,000 Republican ballots.

 

Houston may have more of the same problems until far-left Lina Hidalgo resigns as well.

Local Ukrainian officials said Wednesday that a Russian airstrike hit a maternity and children's hospital in the besieged port city of Mariupol, inflicting heavy damage and burying patients under the rubble.

 

"The Russian occupying forces have dropped several bombs on the children's hospital. The destruction is colossal," said the Mariupol city council, adding that it is not yet sure how many injuries or deaths the attack caused.

 

Sharing a video of the airstrike's aftermath on Twitter, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russian forces of committing another "atrocity" and reiterated his demand for a no-fly zone, which NATO countries have rejected given the high risk of sparking a broader war with Russia.

 

According to the United Nations, dozens of Ukrainian children have been killed during Russia's full-scale assault on Ukraine, which is about to enter its third week with no end in sight.

 

Mariupol, located in southeastern Ukraine, has been under near-constant shelling over the past several days as Russian troops surround the strategic port city. Vadym Boichenko, the city's mayor, told the Financial Times that Russian forces "are trying to exterminate us."

 

As the Associated Press reports, "A humanitarian crisis is unfolding in this encircled city of 430,000, and Tuesday brought no relief: An attempt to evacuate civilians and deliver badly needed food, water, and medicine through a designated safe corridor failed, with Ukrainian officials saying Russian forces had fired on the convoy before it reached the city."

 

Ahead of the strike on the Mariupol hospital, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Wednesday that it has confirmed 18 attacks on Ukrainian healthcare facilities thus far, resulting in 10 deaths and 16 injuries.

 

"Attacks on healthcare are in violation of international humanitarian law," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stressed last week.

He was subsequently tried and pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree Causing a Risk of Widespread Injury and third-degree Manufacturing a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS).

 

This week, Walls was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his crimes โ€” a rare and lengthy sentence for a police officer.

 

Walls was charged with a laundry list of crimes including possession, manufacturing meth, and endangering the welfare of a child after police responded to a report of domestic violence at his home and discovered a meth lab last May.

 

According to police, they were called to Wallsโ€™ home over reports of a domestic disturbance. As they investigated the allegations of domestic violence, an unidentified resident in Wallsโ€™ home tipped off cops that there was a meth laboratory in the basement.

 

The New Jersey State Policeโ€™s Hazmat Unit discovered instruments and all the ingredients needed to make methamphetamine in the basement and in a shed on the property, along with meth residue on chemistry glassware, authorities said. Walls also had books about making methamphetamine, explosives and poison, the Monmouth County Prosecutorโ€™s Office stated at the time.

 

โ€œIn manufacturing illegal narcotics out of his home, Officer Walls threatened the safety and security of the very community he swore an oath to protect and serve,โ€ Acting Prosecutor Linskey said. โ€œWe feel that this sentence sends an unmistakable message that such conduct among members of law enforcement will never be tolerated. This former officerโ€™s actions are also a profound disservice to all of the hardworking and dedicated members of law enforcement who work diligently each day to protect their communities with honor.โ€

 

Apparently, Walls was cooking meth to supplement his $128,000 base salary he collected from his job at the Long Branch Police Department.

Ex-Goldman Sachs banker Tim Leissner admitted Tuesday that he sent fake emails for years while posing as his ex-wife Judy Chan โ€” the latest revelation about past shenanigans during the ongoing embezzlement trial of his former co-worker Roger Ng.

 

Leissner is the prosecutionโ€™s star witness in the case against Ng, who faces federal charges over his alleged role in Malaysiaโ€™s 1MDB corruption scandal. Ngโ€™s defense team has sought to raise questions about Leissnerโ€™s credibility by highlighting sordid details about his personal and professional life โ€” previously accusing him of being a โ€œdouble bigamist.โ€

 

While testifying on Tuesday, Leissner admitted that he pretended to be Chan, his then-wife, in emails sent to this future wife, model Kimora Lee Simmons, as well as Malaysian financier Jho Low. Leissner and Ng purportedly worked with Low to siphon hundreds of millions of dollars from Malaysiaโ€™s 1MDB sovereign development fund.

 

Leissner said he initially posed as Chan in the fake emails to convince Simmons โ€” whom he was dating โ€” that they were no longer legally married.

 

The former star banker kept up the charade for years, pretending to be his ex-wife while exchanging messages about everything from family vacations to a claim that Simmons was responsible for an IRS audit of Leissnerโ€™s finances, Bloomberg reported. Leissner said he didnโ€™t โ€œrememberโ€ sending the email about the IRS audit.

 

Leissner acknowledged using the alias to repeatedly deny Simmonsโ€™ request that Chan accompany them on family vacations to Paris, a Caribbean island and other locations. He once claimed, while posing as Chan, that she couldnโ€™t attend a trip because she and her children were hurt in a car crash.

 

Ngโ€™s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, told the court the emails helped prove that Leissner was a โ€œrare cunning liarโ€ whose testimony should not be trusted.

 

At one point during the proceedings, Agnifilo pressed Leissner on whether the emails revealed โ€œan entire life you completely falsified because you made the whole thing up?โ€

 

โ€œThe correspondence, yes,โ€ Leissner replied. โ€œBut an entire life may be too far.โ€

 

Ngโ€™s defense team also detailed instances in which Leissner used the fake email account to chat with Low in 2016, when the financier was attempting to sell art to Chan.

 

When asked why he faked those emails, Leissner claimed he was trying to โ€œprotectโ€ Chan from Low.

โ€œI wanted to pacify him or be friends. I wanted to make an effort or appear I was attempting to help him,โ€ Leissner said.

 

Leissner, a former partner for Goldman Sachsโ€™ Asia division, already pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to launder money and conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He agreed to forfeit $43.7 million and faces sentencing later this year.

 

Earlier in the trial, Leissner copped to the defenseโ€™s claim that he was a โ€œdouble bigamistโ€ โ€” admitting he twice โ€œfakedโ€ divorces from women to marry others while he was still legally married.

 

Leissner has admitted to having several affairs, previously describing an episode in which a former lover allegedly blackmailed him into buying her a $10 million mansion after she threatened to reveal the tryst to Simmons, his future wife.

 

Ngโ€™s defense attorney has argued Leissner โ€œuses women, he uses false intimacy, and now heโ€™s trying to use my client to get him to do his jail time.โ€

Hillary Clinton Dismisses Possibility of Future Presidential Run

 

Tuesday on MSNBCโ€™s โ€œMorning Joe,โ€ former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton downplayed the possibilities of another presidential run when asked by co-host Mika Brzezinski.

 

Clinton came up short in her two bids in 2008 and 2016. However, some have speculated about Clinton as a Democratic candidate in 2024 should incumbent President Joe Biden decide not to seek a second term.

While Europe may be moving on from COVID-19 lockdown rules, Germany is instead looking to pass even more legislation in the name of Coronavirus.

 

Germany has announced that it is looking to pass another piece of lockdown legislation that would enable authorities to curb freedoms in the hopes of tackling the Chinese Coronavirus.

 

This is despite the fact that across much of the rest of Europe, countries are finally returning to normality, with even the likes of Ireland and Austria โ€” which deployed among the harshest lockdowns in the world in the past, severely restricting the freedom of residentsโ€“ abandoning almost all of the measures aimed at tackling the disease.

 

However, according to a report by Die Welt, German authorities are not done imposing on their population, now drafting a new law that would give local state authorities the ability to implement hardline restrictions.

 

This draft law will give authorities the power to reintroduce a host of lockdown rules in local areas, including harsh restrictions banning individuals who cannot present proof of either vaccination or recovery from COVID from venues like restaurants and bars.

 

Despite these new powers to implement hardline restrictions being given to local authorities, one politician actually praised the legislation as a good โ€œcompromiseโ€ regarding the return of freedoms to the public.

 

โ€œI think we found a very good compromise,โ€ Die Welt reports the German Justice Minister, Marco Buschmann, as saying.

 

โ€œโ€ฆon the one hand to get as much normality as possible for the citizens and on the other hand to be able to act if there is actually a concrete dangerous situation,โ€ he continued.

 

However, despite Buschmannโ€™s remarks that the legislation would allow Germany to have โ€œvirtually no more restrictionsโ€ from late March, the countryโ€™s forced-vax loving Health minister seems to have other plans.

Mexican authorities arrested a regional cartel boss for allegedly ordering the murder of a Coahuila journalist in 2021.

 

The arrest took place Monday night at a bus station in the town of Ramos Arizpe, southwest of the Monterrey metropolitan area. Coahuila state authorities say investigators tracked down 27-year-old Raymundo โ€œN.,โ€ a regional boss with the Cartel Del Noreste (CDN) faction of Los Zetas.

 

Authorities identified Raymundo as the mastermind behind the June 2021 murder of Saul Tijerina in Ciudad Acuna. At the time, Raymundo was the regional boss in Acuna, investigators revealed.

 

Saul Tijerina was an online news video and photojournalist who covered crime in northern Coahuila. Authorities discovered his body on a dirt road next to his vehicle. He had been stabbed in the neck. Police found a poster board with a threatening message, noting his work as a journalist as justification.

I went to college to be a public school teacher, because I thought that I could do a better job of teaching than many of the teachers that I had growing up. I wanted to make the world a better place. Pie in the Sky dreams.

I jumped thru all of their hoops to get that degree back when I was young and didn't know any better that the college Teacher Education programs are just a bunch of bull crap. Most of the stuff I learned in Teacher Training was bullshit. Some was valid, but most was bullshit.

I went to a State University on a State Veteran's scholarship.

Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX) is introducing legislation to require the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to erase all firearm transaction data it has accumulated.

 

Cloudโ€™s aim is to prevent the ATF from developing a de facto gun registry on Americans.

 

On February 1, 2022, Breitbart News pointed to a report claiming the ATF had stockpiled over 900 million records related to firearm purchases/transfers.

Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against HBO for Allegedly Sharing Subscriber Data with Facebook

 

HBO is facing a class action lawsuit over allegations that it gave subscribersโ€™ viewing history to Facebook without proper permission, Variety has reported. The suit accuses HBO of providing Facebook with customer lists, allowing the social network to match viewing habits with their profiles.

 

It further alleges that HBO knows Facebook can combine the data because HBO is a major Facebook advertiser โ€” and Facebook can then use that information to retarget ads to its subscribers. Since HBO never received proper customer consent to do this, it allegedly violated the 1988 Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA), according to the lawsuit.

 

HBO, like other sites, discloses to users that it (and partners) use cookies to deliver personalized ads. However, the VPPA requires separate consent from users to share their video viewing history. โ€œA standard privacy policy will not suffice,โ€ according to the suit.

 

Other streaming providers have been hit with similar claims, and TikTok recently agreed to pay a $92 million settlement for (in part) violating the VPPA. In another case, however, a judge ruled in 2015 that Hulu didnโ€™t knowingly share data with Facebook that could establish an individualโ€™s viewing history. The law firm involved in the HBO suit previously won a $50 million settlement with Hearst after alleging that it violated Michigan privacy laws by selling subscriber data.

Democrats in Marylandโ€™s Senate are proposing a new bill that would make it lawful to murder babies 28 days after birth.

 

Senator William Smith is the sponsor of Senate Bill 669, also known as the Pregnant Personโ€™s Freedom Act of 2022, which will be heard on March 15.

 

In her analysis of the controversial law, attorney Olivia Summers of the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) noted, โ€œ[T]he bill also seeks a change of the fetal murder/manslaughter legislation that would serve to shackle the investigation of child fatalities unrelated to abortion.โ€

 

Lifesitenews.com reports: This is because the legislation prohibits investigations and criminal prosecutions for women and medical professionals for a โ€œfailure to actโ€ in relation to a โ€œperinatal death.โ€

 

โ€œIn other words, a baby born alive and well could be abandoned and left to starve or freeze to death,โ€ Summers wrote, โ€œand nothing could be done to punish those who participated in that cruel death.โ€

 

She said that the language used is unclear, so the law could be interpreted to โ€œprevent investigations into the death of infants at least seven days AFTER their birth, and may extend to infants as old as four weeks!โ€

 

The Maryland Code does not define โ€œperinatal,โ€ Summers said. A 2020 law does define โ€œperinatal careโ€ as the โ€œprovision of care during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum and neonatal periods.โ€

 

A definition on MedicineNet, a website owned by WebMD, defines it as โ€œthe 20th to 28th week of gestationโ€ to โ€œ1 to 4 weeks after birth.โ€

 

Summers, with the ACLJ, noted in her analysis that the state already has a safe haven law that allows parents to leave a newborn baby with a responsible adult without fear of prosecution.

 

โ€œUnder the Safe Haven law, a distressed parent who is unable or unwilling to care for their infant can safely give up custody of their baby, no questions asked,โ€ the Maryland Department of Human Services explains. โ€œNewborns can be left at hospitals or law enforcement stations.โ€

 

โ€œThere is absolutely no reason for Maryland Senate Bill 669โ€™s attempt to prevent someone who lets their baby die from being investigated,โ€ Summers said. โ€This bill just further exposes the complete lack of regard abortion advocates have for innocent human life.โ€

 

โ€œIf they truly want to protect life and women, then legislators could simply extend the length of the safe harbor provision already in place,โ€ she said.

 

Senator Smith, the billโ€™s sponsor, did not provide a comment on the ACLJโ€™s analysis of the legislation. The office responded to the initial email but did not comment any further.

Hubble can look deep into the cosmic past, seeing light from the early universe and some of the most distant stars and galaxies ever observed. Kepler and TESS, meanwhile, took on exoplanets as their main mission, both employing the transit method โ€“ searching for tiny dips in starlight as a planet crosses, or โ€œtransits,โ€ the face of its star. TESS is still looking for new worlds!

 

Each telescope can reveal something different when studying the same planet. The James Webb Space Telescope will give us a closer look at exoplanets, and will be able to tell us something new.

On Sunday, March 6, 2022, Russian news agency Ria Novosti released documents they claim show Ukraine was working on โ€œbiological weaponsโ€ near the Russian border. Ria Novosti accused the US of instructing Ukraine to destroy the biological agents before the Russian invasion.

 

The Ministry of Health in Ukraine ordered the biological agents be destroyed in a February 24 memo.

 

Russia also released a list of the biological agents allegedly be stored in the lab for testing. The list included Salmonella, E. Coli, Anthrax and The Plague.

St Michael sees the greatest event in the Earthโ€™s history taking place. He sees Christโ€™s descent to the Earth, so as to be here with us when the Cosmic Intelligence is handed over to human beings. Should humans wish to, we will be able to find the Christ-way in the evolution of humanity. But Michael cannot force humans to do anything โ€“ it is because the Cosmic intelligence has come entirely into the sphere of the human individuality that compulsion from the spiritual world has ceased.

And herein lies our great danger. Ahrimanic spirits seek to smother human beingsโ€™ awareness of their own spirituality. They want to teach people that they are really only a perfectly developed animal. Ahriman, says Steiner, is in truth the great teacher of materialistic Darwinism. He also teaches all the technological and practical activity in Earth evolution where nothing is considered valid unless it can be perceived by the senses. His desire for us is that we should have widespread technology, plenty of material goods, entertainment media, all sorts of toys and gadgets, the aim being to kill and obscure any awareness we may have that we are an image of the godhead. This is the aim ahrimanic spirits are seeking to achieve by sophisticated scientific means in our age.

What if Ahriman succeeds? You may recall from Part 2 that Steiner said that the angels had particular work to do in inserting three impulses into our astral bodies. You remember these three impulses:

  1. That no human being should be able to enjoy the peace of happiness himself if others around him were unhappy

  2. That human beings should be able to perceive the divine principle operating in every other human being

  3. That human beings should be able to gain irrefutable insight into the reality of the spiritual world.

The angels do this by working within our astral bodies when we are asleep at night. Steiner was speaking in 1918, but he said that if human beings are not willing to turn to life in the spirit before the beginning of the third millennium, ie in our present time, then the angels would need to work in a different way; that is by withdrawing all their work from the astral body and taking it into the etheric body. But then, Steiner says, the human being would have no part in it, as it would have to be done when humans are asleep, as of course when we are asleep we leave behind our physical and etheric bodies in the bed and take our astral body and individuality into the spiritual world.

And he says that, if this happens, the inevitable effect on human evolution would be threefold:

First, something would be engendered in human bodies which human beings could not discover in freedom.

Second, danger would threaten from certain instinctive perceptions connected with the mystery of birth and conception and with sexual life as a whole.

Third, humanity will get to know specific powers which enable them to unleash some degree of mental control over machines, a development that will take the whole of technology along disastrous channels, a state of affairs, however, that will serve human egotism extremely well and please many people.

Now, I donโ€™t know about you, but that sounds to me like things that are already happening. Letโ€™s take the second point, about the effect on our sexuality. Itโ€™s unusual for Steiner to say very much about sex but here he is clear. He says that the effect on human evolution would be that certain instincts belonging to the sexual life and to sexual nature would not come to conscious awareness in a useful way but instead would become harmful. These instincts would not be mere aberrations but would enter into the social life, configuring it. Something would enter into peopleโ€™s blood as a consequence of sexual life that would above all make people go against brotherliness on Earth rather than develop brotherliness and this would be a matter of instinct.

And Steiner hints at something even worse โ€“ he says that danger will come from certain angels who themselves would undergo a change, which he says โ€œis something I cannot speak about, for it belongs to the higher secrets of initiation which may not yet be disclosed.โ€

But nearly one hundred years later, I think we can say something about this, and to me what may be happening now is very frightening.

Let us go back to the War in Heaven, which started in about 1840 and was completed in 1879 with the victory of Michael over the ahrimanic beings, who were cleared out of heaven and thrust into the abyss. Now what does that mean, to be cast out of heaven and into the abyss? Where have they gone?

There is a link between our blood and the etheric body and our angels usually work in our blood and in our heart. By 1840 a number of abnormal backward angels, (these are angels with the โ€˜potentialโ€™ to be archangels but who have not yet reached that stage) wanted to leave the blood in order to enter into the nerves, the brain, where the normal archangels were taking up their domain. This created an obstruction, a hindrance to the flow of spiritual wisdom that was seeking to enter into the astral body. Now a battle ensued between Michael and these retarded angels, the angels of darkness. To cut a long story short, these ahrimanic angels were cast out of the nervous system into the realm of the blood again โ€“ into the abyss โ€“ by 1879. They were thrust down into the etheric body by way of the blood, which is closely connected to intellectuality and human thought. Here, in the realm of intellectual thinking, they found relief for their pain.

These beings connected to Ahriman have inspired more and more intellectualism and materialism than there has ever been before, because they thrive on it; and by way of the intellectโ€™s relationship to the realm of Ahriman they have connected the intellect with the sub-earthly ethers, ie the realm of electricity, magnetism and atomic forces. Whether we know it or not, our etheric bodies interpenetrate these ethers all the time.

Let us recall that Michael had to surrender the Cosmic Intelligence so

that the human ego could remember it again, but this time in a free and personal way and through inner work to reconnect this intelligence with Christ.

But these spirits of darkness living in the human being and in the earth do not want this to happen: as followers of Ahriman, the antagonist of Christ, they are doing their level best to prevent us from rising up. They want to drag us down to the level of the electrical, the mechanical and atomistic โ€“ the realm of Sorath the Sun Demon โ€“ and they are making great strides forward.

As already mentioned, the angels have the task in our times of shaping images in our astral bodies at night. Our angels can only create those pictures at night, if by day we have thought, lived and spoken with integrity and morality. Only then can our angels connect us with the archangels and archai.

Steiner says: โ€œIn fact it actually depends on human beings themselves โ€“ on their attitude, on the whole way their world of feeling is disposed to the spiritual world โ€“ whether their angels accompany them when they leave their physical and etheric bodies in sleep or notโ€ฆ. If a person leaves his physical and etheric body in a materialistic mood, his angel would be denying his realm, his affiliation to the archangels, the archai and the exusiai if he were to accompany the human being. โ€œ
