Congressman Seeks Facebook, Twitter Records Related to Suppression of Hunter Biden Laptop Story

 

Rep. Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) asked Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal on Thursday to preserve all internal records related to the companies’ suppression of news coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020, according to copies of the congressional preservation letters obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

 

The congressman is asking Zuckerberg, Agrawal, Facebook communications director Andy Stone, and former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to "Immediately initiate document preservation for all materials relating to questions, inquiry, conversation, strategy, and response to the media reporting of the Hunter Biden laptop and/or its contents that first appeared in the New York Post on October 14, 2020," and to notify employees, consultants, and subcontractors who might have access to relevant materials.

 

Issa said his office is investigating efforts by social media outlets and Democratic operatives to stifle the New York Post bombshell story about Hunter Biden’s corrupt foreign business dealings, which was based on emails found on Hunter’s abandoned laptop.

 

"This is the scandal that Big Tech and the Democrat industrial complex wish would go away," Issa told the Free Beacon. "They know what they did, and of course they think they’ve gotten away with it. That’s why it’s critical that we not squander the opportunity for accountability."

 

Issa also sent preservation requests to top Biden 2020 campaign aides—including now-White House press secretary Jen Psaki and chief of staff Ron Klain—as well as a group of Biden-supporting former U.S. intelligence officials who claimed the laptop appeared to be part of a "Russian information operation."

 

The preservation requests don’t have the legal power of a congressional subpoena, but companies could take a political risk if they refuse to comply—particularly if Republicans gain the House majority next year, giving them control of investigative committees and subpoena authority.

 

Although there was no evidence in 2020 that the Post’s reporting was inaccurate—and even Hunter Biden didn’t deny that the emails were real—Democrats decried the story as Russian "misinformation," and Facebook and Twitter took unprecedented steps to prevent users from viewing or sharing it weeks before the election.

 

Facebook announced that it would be "reducing [the story’s] distribution on our platform" and changed its algorithm to make posts about the article less visible. Twitter locked the Post’s account and barred users from sharing the link, claiming it was "potentially harmful."

 

Facebook declined to comment.

 

Numerous other news outlets have since corroborated the Post’s reporting.

Interesting. I did not know that so much energy transits Ukraine. It reminds me of a country along the silk road. I don't remember which, but goods coming from both east and west were handled locally by that country. They could skim off the top, charge premiums, anything they wanted.

If it wasn't for Trump, Q and anons I would care very little about politics and world events.

I certainly wouldn't be posting online as an anonymous frog nor would I have made so many frens.

God used them to pull back the veil so that I could see the battle of good vs evil in a remarkably clear way. No longer is this war found just in some kind of vague mystical plane…but rather it is a tangible struggle with real people moving that tug of war in one way or another and definable actions occurring that change the course of human history.

The Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) is a left-of-center grantmaking organization with over $11 billion in assets. The Foundation conducts most of its grantmaking through donor-advised fund (DAF) accounts established with oversight from individual donors who can advise how their gifts are distributed for charitable purposes.

 

SVCF has drawn criticism in recent years as a “Black Hole” for charitable donations because IRS rules and SVCF practice have allowed money to be held in DAF accounts for years with no required minimum payouts to charitable organizations (as are required of private foundations). [1] This allows donors to receive large tax breaks immediately, before the donations benefit charitable causes.

 

SVCF was rocked by scandal in 2018 when its largest fundraiser, Mari Ellen Loijens, resigned amidst dozens of allegations of abusive management and sexual harassment. An independent investigation by the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner found a number of the allegations “were substantiated,” leading to the ouster of former CEO Emmet Carson following an independent investigation. [2]

 

Donors to SVCF

 

SVCF is highly dependent upon substantial donations from a relatively small number of ultra-wealthy donors. According to its 2019 annual report, SVCF received 70 percent of its contributions from 11 donors; in 2018, 75 percent of its contributions came from just 10 donors, up from 69 percent of all contributions from 11 donors in 2017. [84] [85]

 

As of May 2018, at least 17 billionaires had donated to SVCF, including high-profile, left-of-center donors. [86] Most donors placed shares of stock into donor-advised funds (DAFs), allowing the donors to benefit from upfront tax benefits and the power to advise the disbursement of their donations. [87]

 

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg gave the largest donation to SVCF, amounting to $1.75 billion in Facebook stock in 2010. [88] In 2018, he gave an additional donation of $200 million. [89]

 

Most of the other billionaire donors are Silicon Valley CEOs or founders of companies, including WhatsApp cofounder Brian Acton, Twitter founder and CEO Jack Dorsey, and notable left-of-center donor and Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings. [90] Howard Schultz, the Starbucks chairman who explored a presidential campaign as an independent in 2019, also gave to SVCF. [91]

 

Grants from SVCF

 

In spite of its purpose as a grantmaking organization, SVCF disbursed just $1.8 billion in grants in 2017, just over 14 percent of its total assets. [92] That same year, SVCF assets increased from just $5.3 billion to $13.5 billion, surpassing the assets of the Ford Foundation. [93] Though SVCF is not required to publicly disclose specific asset sources, the increase likely came from the appreciation of SVCF investments, which include potentially 36 million Facebook shares, donated by founder Mark Zuckerberg. How Can Ketanji Brown Jackson Rule In Sex Discrimination Cases If She Can’t Define ‘Woman’?

 

If trial courts must call on ‘biologists’ every time the subject of sex comes up, it is hard to see how justice can be done.

 

Judicial confirmation hearings are rarely illuminating. Since the introduction of television cameras, they mostly serve as a way for senators to say what they want their constituents to hear and for judicial nominees to say as little as possible. Nothing is learned, at least not on purpose.

 

But occasionally, we learn something by accident. At Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee asked a seemingly innocuous question: “Can you provide a definition of the word ‘woman’?”

 

The nominee was unable to do so.

 

It might seem like a question that goes more to politics than to the job of a judge, but when sex discrimination is frequently before the court — including as recently as last year in Bostock v. Clayton County — it behooves a judge to have some inkling about what “sex” means.

 

Blackburn’s questioning began with a reference to the 1996 case of United States v. Virginia, in which the Supreme Court struck down the Virginia Military Institute’s policy of only admitting men by a 7-1 vote, with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg writing the opinion of the court. (You can watch the testimony here, beginning at about 13:10:00.) Blackburn quoted from that opinion, specifically to Ginsburg’s point that “[p]hysical differences between men and women, however, are enduring: ‘[T]he two sexes are not fungible; a community made up exclusively of one [sex] is different from a community composed of both.’”

 

“Do you agree with Justice Ginsburg,” Blackburn asked, “that there are physical differences between men and women that are enduring?”

 

It sounds like a softball — even young children know that there are physical differences between men and women. Jackson knows it, too. Everyone in that room knows it. But she declined to admit it.

 

“I am not familiar with that particular quote or case,” she said, which strains credulity. Had she committed that line to memory? Probably not. But to be unfamiliar with a landmark case, the most consequential majority opinion Justice Ginsburg ever authored? United States v. Virginia was surely a topic of discussion in 1996, Jackson’s third year of law school, where she was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. It beggars belief to say she was unfamiliar with it entirely.

 

The senator pressed on: “Do you interpret Justice Ginsburg’s meaning of ‘men and women’ as ‘male and female’?”

 

Judge Jackson demurred. “Again, because I don’t know the case, I don’t know how I interpret it.”

 

So Blackburn made it even simpler: “Can you provide a definition of the word ‘woman’?”

Again, Jackson pretended to not understand something that people have understood since the beginning of time.

 

“I can’t,” she said. “Not in this context, I’m not a biologist.”

 

The problem of pretending “sex” and “gender” are indefinable terms bears heavily on decades of anti-discrimination jurisprudence. Reading further into Ginsburg’s opinion in U.S. v. Virginia, it is clear that her arguments for legal equality between the sexes are nonetheless premised on the idea that there are two separate sexes.

 

‘Inherent differences’ between men and women, we have come to appreciate, remain cause for celebration, but not for denigration of the members of either sex or for artificial constraints on an individual’s opportunity. Sex classifications may be used to compensate women ‘for particular economic disabilities [they have] suffered,’ to ‘promot[e] equal employment opportunity,’ to advance full development of the talent and capacities of our Nation’s people. But such classifications may not be used, as they once were, to create or perpetuate the legal, social, and economic inferiority of women. (internal citations omitted)

 

The Supreme Court in the VMI case noted that men and women were different and noted further there are circumstances in which that difference can matter in law. Ginsburg’s point, and that of the six justices who signed on to her opinion, was that it did not matter in that case.

 

The court’s ruling was not that there was no difference between men and women, or that there was a difference, but no one could possibly know what it was. It was that men and women do have “inherent differences,” but that the state should not discriminate on that basis absent some “exceedingly persuasive justification.”

 

To say that the definitions of “man” and “woman” are unknowable absent some expert training in biology is to turn the whole precedent on its head. Justice Neil Gorsuch’s opinion in Bostock last year already degraded this principle, stretching the meaning of sex discrimination to cover discriminating against someone based on “traits or actions it would not have questioned in members of a different sex.” But even that reimagining of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act still hangs on the idea that the classifications known as “man” and “woman” exist and are knowable.

 

If sex is unknowable, how can a law against sex discrimination be enforced? If an element of the offense is literally indefinable, the law must fail under the “void for vagueness” doctrine.

 

First explained in Connally v. General Construction Co.in 1926 and upheld many times since, the doctrine requires that laws be clear if they are not to violate the due process clause. A law “must be sufficiently explicit to inform those who are subject to it what conduct on their part will render them liable to its penalties.” Therefore, “a statute which either forbids or requires the doing of an act in terms so vague that men of common intelligence must necessarily guess at its meaning and differ as to its application violates the first essential of due process of law.”

 

Until recently, no one would say that the definition of “woman” was something “so vague that men of common intelligence must necessarily guess at its meaning,” but Judge Jackson seems to disagree. What would this mean for our sex discrimination laws, where being unable to define “sex” makes it impossible to determine if the law even applies to a situation? If trial courts need to call expert “biologists” every time the subject of sex comes up, it is hard to see how justice can be done.

 

Fortunately, this is all a lie, not a genuine misunderstanding.

 

Judge Jackson, like Blackburn, is a woman, and she knows exactly what that means. Bowing down to the postmodernists’ mystery cult is something prominent people on the left deem politically necessary, but should a future Justice Jackson be called upon to decide a case in which a woman was paid less than a man for the same job, her recollection of the definition of “woman” will be magically restored.

 

But that does not solve the problem. The point of voiding vague laws is that the vagueness means they will be interpreted based on the whims of the state, not a neutral principle. Knowing what it means one moment and pretending not to the next introduces vagueness where none existed before, and with the same effect: the growth of arbitrary state power.

 

Ignoring facts leads to ignoring laws. Jackson’s misstep on this point undermined the idea that she would rule neutrally on politically sensitive matters and threatens to introduce a dangerous arbitrariness to American jurisprudence.

eorgetown Day School, where Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson serves on the board of trustees, recently hosted a critical race theorist to indoctrinate pre-K students as part of a “Black Lives Matter at School’s Week of Action,” a campaign that seeks to turn children into extremist political activists.

 

Fox News recently reported that the school promotes critical race theory books and that the board of trustees, of which Jackson has been a member since 2019, is “involved with executing their ‘anti-racism action plan.’”

 

One section of the school website, archived here, displays that Georgetown Day School recently hosted Dr. Denisha Jones, a critical race theorist, to indoctrinate pre-K students with the corrosive left-wing theory. Jones joined the children via Zoom to discuss the guiding principles of Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action, where Jones has been a member of the steering committee since 2017.

 

The Georgetown Day School website includes a link to a Google Drive folder containing several graphics associated with the Week of Action, which described the mission of the campaign.

Jones has also openly defended critical race theory. In a panel discussion, called “In Defense of Critical Race Theory,” Jones remarked that “Without critical race theory, people will fall back on those old tropes that we know continue to harm students.” Jones, who has promoted black trans prostitutes on Twitter, also took part in an event titled “Standing Up To CRT Attacks: Strategies and Actions.”

 

Jones is also an editor of a book called “Black Lives Matter At Schools,” which received glowing praise from various critical race theorists. Rep. Darrell Issa Hits Twelve Individuals Involved in ‘Laptop From Hell’ Election Interference with Document Preservation Notices

 

Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) has submitted document preservation notices to twelve individuals from the intelligence community, White House, Facebook, and Twitter — as Republicans in Congress are gearing up to take back majorities and investigate election interference with regard to the suppression of the “Laptop From Hell” series in October 2020.

 

Rep. Issa is demanding former DNI boss James Clapper, former CIA boss Micheal Hayden, former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, former CIA head John Brennan, former top CIA aide Nick Shapiro, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Meta Communications Director Andy Stone, former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, and current Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal all preserve documents relating to their involvement in suppressing the New York Post’s bombshell exposé on the Hunter Biden laptop in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election, according to letters obtained exclusively by Breitbart News.

 

The news comes as Breitbart News exclusively reported Wednesday that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced House Republicans had sent dozens of preservation notices across the federal government to agencies and departments throughout Biden administration, ordering them to preserve documents in anticipation of eventual subpoenas from House Republicans after the 2022 midterm elections.

 

The letters from Issa to the various characters begin similarly, demanding the recipient “immediately initiate document preservation for all materials relating to questions, inquiry, conversation, strategy, and response, from 2020 to current, to the media reporting of the Hunter Biden laptop and/or its contents that first appeared in the New York Post on October 14, 2020.”

 

The notices state the recipient should “[construe the request] as an instruction to preserve all documents, communications, and other information, including electronic information and metadata, that is or may be potentially responsible to this congressional inquiry,” including electronic messages, text messages, or communications on encrypted software sent from official or personal devices.

 

Issa adds in his letters that the information will be “essential for Congress to conduct a comprehensive fact-finding investigation into the actions by technology companies, media organizations, and political allies to suppress information and prevent public awareness of matters involving the Biden Family.”

 

Rep. Issa told Breitbart News in a statement that he is putting those who participated in the effort to suppress the laptop from hell “on notice” and that he will be taking up the role of a watchdog when Republicans take a majority in the House in November.

 

“Big Tech, the mainstream media and the Democrats’ deep state intelligence community want to either rewrite the history of their collusion – or erase it entirely. We’re not going to let them do that,” Issa said in a statement to Breitbart News.

 

“These letters are putting everyone on notice: real accountability is going to happen. And we won’t rest until the full truth is known.”

 

The letters come as Republicans anticipate taking back power in Congress, and in the wake of the New York Times becoming just the latest legacy outlet to admit that the Laptop and reporting on its contents were authentic and accurate — despite broad, unsubstantiated, and false claims at the time that the report was “Russian disinformation.”

 

When the original Post stories were reported in October 2020, the security state, the media, Big Tech, and the Democratic Party worked in machine-like coordination to suppress the information.

Vice President Kamala Harris’s newly hired press secretary Kirsten Allen deleted over 10,000 tweets before accepting the position, according to Social Blade.

 

Social Blade, which tracks activity on social media sites, reveals Allen deleted 10,594 tweets between January 5 and January 11, two months before the White House confirmed Allen had accepted the position. Allen reportedly was not in communication with Harris’s office until February. Allen was hired to replace top spokeswoman Symone Sanders, who left the White House in December.

 

Social Blade does not track which tweets were deleted, but with Allen’s former employers being disgraced by Floridian gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum and the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee, speculators have “raised questions about the content on her page before it was scrubbed.”

 

Allen has a history of tweeting radical opinions, including pro-vaccine mandate notions, retweeting characters like Nikole Hannah-Jones, founder of the 1619 Project, and far-left reporters.

 

Allan joined Harris’s team to replace Symone Sanders, who left her position as Harris’s top spokeswoman to join MSNBC. Sanders is not the only member of Harris’s team to depart in recent months.

 

More than five staffers have left Harris’s office after being tossed to and from by “disorder, bad press, and, at times, internal frictions” because of Harris’s reported, “abusive environment,” where staffers have been “treated like shit,” and have had a slew of resignations and departures in recent months during political “shitshow” resets.

The result was a series of US-UK missile strikes on Damascus and a prolonged crisis that nearly triggered the kind of disastrous regime change war that had destabilized Iraq and Libya.

 

In each major chemical weapons event, signs of staging and deception by the armed Syrian opposition were present. As a former US ambassador in the Middle East told journalist Charles Glass, “The ‘red line’ was an open invitation to a false-­flag operation.”

 

Elements of deception were especially clear in the April 7, 2018 incident in the city of Douma, when an anti-government militia on the brink of defeat claimed civilians had been massacred in a chlorine attack by the Syrian army.

 

Veteran inspectors from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) found no evidence that the Syrian army had carried out any such attack, however, suggesting the entire incident had been staged to trigger Western intervention. Their report was subsequently censored by organization management, and the inspectors were subjected to a campaign of smears and intimidation.

 

Throughout the Syrian conflict, a self-proclaimed “chemical warrior” named Hamish de Bretton-Gordon was intimately involved in numerous chemical weapons deceptions that sustained the war and ratcheted up pressure for Western military intervention.

21 arrested in Utah sex trafficking operation; police say it is 'not even the tip of the iceberg'

 

A recent operation headed up by the Utah County Sheriff's Office to combat human sex trafficking resulted in 21 arrests and three women being rescued, according to the sheriff's office.

 

But Sheriff's Lt. Jason Randall, head of the investigations unit, said despite the success of the operation, it represented just a small fraction of the overall problem of sex trafficking in Utah and throughout the nation.

 

"This isn't even the tip of the iceberg. This is like a snowflake on an iceberg. We are barely scratching the surface," he said.

 

On Thursday, the sheriff's office held a press conference to announce the results of an undercover operation held Feb. 14-17. During the campaign, investigators went online looking for both victims of human trafficking, as well as people — mainly men — who were willing to engage with women or children in illegal sexual activities.

 

A total of 21 people were arrested for investigation of a variety of drug and trafficking-related charges, such as enticement, sexual solicitation and unlawful sexual conduct, according to the sheriff's office. A probable cause affidavit filed with the Utah County Jail states that one man traveled to Lehi, where police had set up their undercover operation, from Evanston, Wyoming, believing he would be meeting a girl for sex.

 

Another man, from Sandy, responded to an advertisement set up by undercover investigators on "an online social media site that is known to be used to solicit minors for sexual acts," and offered an officer (posing as a girl) $100 for sex, a second booking affidavit states.

 

"One of the individuals that showed up brought rope, brought tape, brought toys, brought lingerie. And this person was under the understanding they'd be meeting with a 13-year-old child," Randall said of one of the men arrested. "There's no doubt in my mind that we have saved multiple other child victims because this man is a perpetrator and he showed up with the intent of doing harm to a 13-year-old girl."

"In the situation they're in, the victim can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, or that there even is a light. And all they see is, quite frankly, doom and despair."

During the course of the operation, police also found three women who were being forced into prostitution and were being trafficked through social media platforms.

 

One of the goals of undercover operations like this, Randall said, is to reach those women who may believe their situation is hopeless and they don't have a choice but to continue being trafficked.

 

"They don't see a window. They don't see a door out," he said. "In the situation they're in, the victim can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, or that there even is a light. And all they see is, quite frankly, doom and despair."

 

Randall said law enforcers meet with each of the victims after they are rescued and let them know what resources are available. But sometimes it takes a couple of tries to convince women and girls trapped in cycles of abuse that there are other options, he said.

 

There are many victims around Utah, Randall said. Some of them go unnoticed because they "look like us" and "live in our own neighborhoods." The goal, he said, is to identify them and help them turn their lives around.

 

Ten law enforcement agencies participated in the undercover operation, which received funding from the Malouf Foundation to help pay for equipment used in the stings as well as overtime pay for officers. Randall said the sheriff's office has at least four more similar operations planned for 2022.

In the wake of a “sickening” and “unprecedented” child sex abuse case in 2021, Stuff has put the spotlight on Laken Maree Rose who, figures show, could be the most prolific female child sex offender in New Zealand history.

 

The first thing Laken Maree Rose said to the officer arresting her for crimes that would soon make her one of the most prolific female child sex offenders in New Zealand was about her victims.

 

“They’re young, they’ll get over it.”

 

The man hearing those words was Detective Sergeant Darryl​ Brazier, the 40-year police veteran who brought the five-year reign of abuse conducted by Rose and her co-offender, Andrew Alan Williams, to an end.

 

The pair were sentenced in August last year at the High Court in Rotorua for crimes described by sentencing judge Justice Matthew Muir as “almost unprecedented”.

 

Between them, they were guilty of more than 100 child sex offences, including the rape of a three-year-old while the child’s mother was in the same property.

 

Rose was sentenced to 19 years and nine months imprisonment, with a minimum non parole term of seven years and nine months, after pleading guilty to 10 charges and being found guilty of a further 45 charges at a judge alone trial.

 

Williams had pleaded guilty to 56 charges and was sentenced to 23 years five months’ imprisonment, with a minimum non parole term of nine years four months.

 

The couple’s offending spanned seven victims as young as three, across the Waikato, Palmerston North, Dannevirke and the Bay of Plenty.

 

Talking to Stuff, Brazier went further than Muir’s sentencing remarks when describing their offending.

 

“There’s no precedent.”

 

He said that, over his four decades in the police, he had encountered females who had been convicted of ‘party to’ sex offending, “but none like this”.

Joe Biden was in Brussels on Thursday for a NATO meeting on the Russian war against Ukraine and the concerns that poses for the alliance. As we noted earlier, he was grinning like a Cheshire cat and blowing off questions, while most of the other leaders arriving were taking questions.

 

But then, he did a press conference where he had a list of folks to call on, as he often does. But even with the obvious scripting, he still couldn’t hold it together on the world stage–and made an embarrassing mess of things yet again.

 

Biden claimed that he never said that sanctions would deter Vladimir Putin, despite the fact that that’s exactly what his team has said for weeks about the threat of sanctions.

So then, a reporter logically asked what the sanctions he was talking about on Thursday were going to do to deter him now. That’s when Biden snapped at the reporter.

 

Biden said that they talked about the potential food shortages that might occur because of the war. But, that isn’t exactly what he said. He said, “We both talked about how we can increase and disseminate more rapidly food shortages.” What? So, you talked about increasing food shortages? What are you saying here?

 

But heads up, because those food shortages are going to hit here, too.

 

Biden also seemed lost here, when he appeared to depart from his list of people to call on.

 

Biden commented about his call with the Chinese president Xi Jinping. Biden had been incredibly naive, when previously sharing information with them that the U.S. had on Russia, while urging them to intercede to stop any invasion. China then finked out to Russia what information the U.S. had. It was an incredibly dumb move by Biden.

 

He says he spoke to China about that, but then said he “expected” them to help Russia. So then, why did you tip them off?

 

Biden said he thought Russia should be removed from the G-20, and that the U.S. was going to have 100,000 Ukrainian refugees come to the U.S., and would work to ease the suffering of those who made it across the border to Poland.

 

“I plan on attempting to see those folks,” Biden said about 12:40 on the video below. “As well as I hope I’m going to be able to see…oh, I guess I’m not supposed to say where I’m going, am I? I hope I get to see…a lot of people”

 

No, Joe, you’re not supposed to say that. Can I facepalm now? Did he just reveal what he was about to do? Are they really so desperate to paint him as a winner, that his administration would put him in a dangerous situation? And why is he talking about such things in advance? I just can’t with this guy anymore; he could be endangering himself.
