"On October 15, 2020 - the day after the Post’s reporting was published and Twitter began censoring it and those who would share it - Ranking Member James Comer wrote to Chief Executive Officer Jack Dorsey requesting information about Twitter’s policies regarding the type of censorship it had used against the Post.

The letter requested “a list of all links Twitter has blocked on its platform from January 1, 2019, to the present.” Additionally, the letter requested specific answers to questions about Twitter’s handling of the Post’s reporting.

Twitter provided none of this information to the Committee. The actions social media companies took to limit or remove the Hunter Biden laptop story or punish those who shared it cannot be entirely separated from the content of the story itself. As the 117th Congress commenced, Republicans expanded the investigation from focusing on Big Tech’s unethical practices to include a review of the troubling facts described in the Post’s reporting.

On October 28, 2022, Republicans wrote owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, requesting documents and information about the company’s role in the 2020 election and reiterating its former requests."

Sohae Satellite Launching Station: Work Begins on the Vertical Engine Test Stand

Recent commercial satellite imagery of North Korea’s Sohae Satellite Launching Station indicates that major construction has started on the vertical engine test stand (VETS)—the country’s largest liquid-fuel engine test stand. Efforts to enhance and expand the complex have been underway for approximately eight months already, as previously directed by Kim Jong Un.[1] This has included an overhaul of the rocket launch pad, the building of a new tunnel connecting the complex to support facilities to the east, the razing of the former launch control building in the VIP housing area and construction of a new facility there, the addition of a new rail depot just north of the Sohae complex, and new roadways both inside and outside of the complex. However, until now, the VETS had remained relatively unchanged. With this development, work is now well underway at all the major facilities within the complex.

Vertical Engine Test Stand (VETS) Activity

As of October 24, only minor activity had taken place at the VETS, despite major construction at other key facilities throughout the Sohae complex. This included building a new access road to the test platform area and removing all support vehicles associated with past tests from the test stand apron.

By November 13, significant activity on the test stand itself was underway. Specifically, the rail-mounted environmental shelter, used for both protection of the engines (when loaded) from the elements and to deny observation of test preparations, had been pulled away from the test stand and positioned back on the apron. Several vehicles are now on the apron as well, along with building materials.

Lazy Pepe's Beef and Rice Meal

Here at Lazy Pepe's, we don't like to cook. Hell, we don't even like to eat but you gotta do what you gotta do, right? When the hunger pangs hit after a long shift on the Kun, something needs to be done about it. Something that maybe will use up those rotting left-overs in the fridge. Recipes be damned! We don't have time to fuss around with new-fangled recipes. What the fuck is a clove anyway?

Grab some beef (half pound or so), brown it and mix a bunch of stuff with it. Dump in a small can of peas and carrots (or that moldy open can of mushrooms), diced tomatoes, hot peppers, onion, cheese, a packet of spice (taco seasoning, Sloppy Joe's, whatever), spaghetti sauce or any sauce you can find that hasn't already been consumed by maggots. Add enough tomato juice or Clamato to make it somewhat watery (it will thicken). Cook a cup of rice to three cups of water in a rice cooker (or whatever you have). If you like, macaroni or spaghetti will work too.

Mix the rice with the previously prepared unappetizing mess. Now you have a big pot full of something possibly edible that should be sufficient for you to survive over the next 2 or 3 days. Enjoy. Or not. Remember that you aren't doing this for taste. You just wanna live for another week.

Before Hitler became chancellor, Germany was still a republic governed by the Weimar Constitution. But Article 48 of this constitution permitted the suspension of civil liberties “[i]f public security and order are seriously disturbed or endangered.” These emergency powers were continually abused, and following the Reichstag Fire in 1933, the Enabling Act transferred all law-making power from the German parliament to the executive branch, allowing Hitler to “rule by decree” until the end of the War in 1945.

While the legislative branches of the States and the federal government in the United States (and other nations around the world) have been in session the past two years, the reality is that legislatures rarely sought to limit the powers of the executive. Under the auspices of the CDC, the WHO, and other health agencies, executives have effectively ruled by fiat. Closing businesses, mandating masks and vaccines, forcing people to stay home—most of these measures were implemented by executives without even consulting legislatures. And what was the justification? The “emergency” of covid. If we could go back in time to 2019 and ask whether executives should be permitted to unilaterally impose such life-altering policies on their people even with legislative consent, the vast majority of people would likely say “No!” So how did we get here in 2022?
