Q never said "commercial". I know in the past that many cited the Colgan Air crash of the Q 400 in KBUF that had a lady on it that had met with [Hussein] about something, I forget. You can look at the Flt. Data Recorder animation on utube and clearly see it was crew error. The Q 400 will flat out fly out of a full stall condition. Captain never firewalled throttles and at a 20 degree nose up attitude, the inexperienced FO retracted the flaps. That was it.

However, the claim that federal law does not give vice presidents the power to declassify government documents, and reserves that authority for presidents, is false.

While it's true in Biden's case β€” that is, given that documents uncovered at his private office and Delaware home pertain to work during his vice presidency, he could have, while serving under Obama, declassified those files β€” that fact is irrelevant in terms of the U.S. Justice Department's review of the files and the circumstances under which they were kept. Rather, at the center of that effort, as well as the department's probe into documents uncovered at Trump's property, is the fact that such government files, classified or declassified, should not have been at their private properties in the first place. They should have been handed over to the National Archives instead, per federal law.

How many complaints of vax death did we see in 2021 from each?

 

Based on my review of the data, I think way higher %age died in UK & Aus from the vax than US.

 

US data is batch dependent.

 

Now if someone could associate those batches with outlets, that would be the final data point I need.

 

I suspect if you got your vax from a corporate shill outlet like Walmart or CVS, you're much more likely to get a death batch.

 

I think we all suspect that the US military doses were less deadly

 

I think that difference in outcomes is what Warp Speed was about.

 

That's still hard to process. Because it's like "if they knew there were deadly vaxxes out there, why didn't they sound the klaxons and ring all the bells?".

 

Yeah the end won't be for everyone I guess. But I still think there's a clear pattern of better outcomes here than the direct and clear genocide that we see going on in the UK and Aus.

This anon feels very blessed to have a very particular job/career that is quite a niche. Been there for about 15 years and I’m essentially the only employee at my company that does the specific job I do. And it pays quite well for the type of work it is, but I’m not saying I make a lot of $, just a good living and I’m probably overpaid if anything. The flexibility is also unbelievable. If I told them tonight that I had something come up, and I need to be out for the next several weeks, it wouldn’t be an issue and I wouldn’t have to explain or provide some sort of note or anything like that. And yes, it’s an 100% legal job/company. Anyway, I say all that to say that nothing fazes my job (yet). Upturns, downturns, layoffs, pandemic, nothing. Though the company I work for has a start-up budget (been a start-up or at least in start-up mode for nearly 25 years now), anon believes he has VERY good job security barring the company just closing the doors one day. And even if that happens, anon might be the one to turn off the lights (last one out the door). It’s funny how God works in our lives. Today, we affirm our joint commitment to safe, orderly, and humane migration under the Los Angeles Declaration and other relevant multilateral frameworks. This includes assisting host communities and promoting migrant and refugee integration; providing protection to refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants; strengthening asylum capacity in the region; expanding and promoting regular pathways for migration and protection; addressing the root causes and impacts of irregular migration and forced displacement; and collaborating to counter xenophobia and discrimination against migrants and refugees.

 

Now more than ever, we need to identify and address the root causes of irregular migration and forced displacement. Mexico, the United States, and Canada commit to supporting countries across the Western Hemisphere to create the conditions to improve quality of life, especially in marginalized communities that are vulnerable to both forced internal and regional migration and displacement. Health

 

Trilateral health cooperation will focus on launching an updated North American Plan for Animal and Pandemic Influenza (NAPAPI) to improve prevention, preparedness, agility, and to provide rapid response to health emergencies in North America. The North American Health Security Working Group will develop and launch a new, revised NAPAPI as a flexible, scalable, and cross-sectoral platform to strengthen regional prevention, preparedness and response to a broader range of health security threats that include influenza and beyond. As we emerge from the acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, we also recognize that resilient health systems, including a strong health workforce, are the foundation upon which effective pandemic preparedness and response will be built. We will continue efforts to build stronger and more resilient health systems that meet the broad range of health needs in our countries.

The three countries of North America each made ambitious commitments under the Los Angeles Declaration, including working together to advance labor mobility in North America, particularly regarding regular pathways, and have been delivering on these commitments.

 

Since June, Mexico, the United States and Canada have collectively welcomed record numbers of migrants and refugees from the Western Hemisphere under new and expanded labor and humanitarian programs. Today, we affirm our joint commitment to safe, orderly, and humane migration under the Los Angeles Declaration and other relevant multilateral frameworks. This includes assisting host communities and promoting migrant and refugee integration; providing protection to refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants; strengthening asylum capacity in the region; expanding and promoting regular pathways for migration and protection; addressing the root causes and impacts of irregular migration and forced displacement; and collaborating to counter xenophobia and discrimination against migrants and refugees.

 

Now more than ever, we need to identify and address the root causes of irregular migration and forced displacement. Mexico, the United States, and Canada commit to supporting countries across the Western Hemisphere to create the conditions to improve quality of life, especially in marginalized communities that are vulnerable to both forced internal and regional migration and displacement. To that end, we will continue to work together and with our respective private sectors to promote responsible business practices, implement obligations under the USMCA and international labor conventions, and cooperate to eradicate the use of forced and child labor in our supply chains.

 

Health

 

Trilateral health cooperation will focus on launching an updated North American Plan for Animal and Pandemic Influenza (NAPAPI) to improve prevention, preparedness, agility, and to provide rapid response to health emergencies in North America. The North American Health Security Working Group will develop and launch a new, revised NAPAPI as a flexible, scalable, and cross-sectoral platform to strengthen regional prevention, preparedness and response to a broader range of health security threats that include influenza and beyond. As we emerge from the acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, we also recognize that resilient health systems, including a strong health workforce, are the foundation upon which effective pandemic preparedness and response will be built. We will continue efforts to build stronger and more resilient health systems that meet the broad range of health needs in our countries.

Regional Security

 

Mexico, the United States, and Canada will focus on strategies to bolster our shared continental security against domestic, regional, and global threats, including cyber threats. Why I Think of Clarence Thomas and the Nuns Who Inspired Him Each MLK Day

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is hailed by many for his inspiring life. But through it all, good or bad, Thomas stays focused on the important things in life.

He never has forgotten those who helped him along the way. For many years on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the justice would visit his eighth-grade teacher, Sister Mary Virgilius Reidy, and dozens of her fellow nuns, in a retirement convent in New Jersey.

Clarence Thomas was born into abject poverty in the segregated Deep South to parents who were poor and uneducated. His father left when he was 2, and he ultimately was sent to live with his grandparents in Savannah, Georgia.

His grandfather enrolled Clarence and his brother in St. Benedict’s, a segregated, all-black, Catholic elementary school. It was run by the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (most of them from Ireland), who endured disparaging slurs, including the N-word, for dedicating their lives to teaching black students.

β€œThey wore that as a badge of honor,” Thomas recalls in the book β€œCreated Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words,” which I co-edited with Michael Pack.

The Franciscan nuns changed his life, and Thomas always has been grateful for their love and support. The nuns held their students to the highest academic standards, and did not allow them to make any excuse, even though these students lived under state-enforced discrimination.

As Thomas recounts in β€œCreated Equal”: β€œYou knew they loved you. When you think somebody loves you and deeply cares about your interests, somehow they can get you to do hard things.”

In the 1980s, when he was part of the Reagan administration, Thomas sought out Sister Virgilius, who was living in Boston. Thomas recalls: β€œI went by to see her, and I sat with her, and I thanked her for teaching me and making me believe that we could learn, and for not letting me slip into victim status and forcing me out of it.”

In 1984, Thomas returned to his hometown of Savannah to pay tribute at an event honoring the Franciscan Sisters, where he said:

There was no way I could have survived if it had not been for the nunsβ€”our nuns, who made me pray when I didn’t want to and didn’t know why I shouldβ€”who made me work when I saw no reason toβ€”who made me believe in the equality of races when our country paid lip service to equality and our church tolerated inequalityβ€”who made me accept responsibilities for my own life when I looked for excuses. No, my friends, without our nuns, I would not have made it to square one.

Thomas again thanked the nuns when he was nominated by President George H.W. Bush to the Supreme Court in 1991, and Sister Virgilius, then 80 years old and nursing a broken arm, later testified on behalf of her former student at his confirmation hearings.

After Thomas joined the Supreme Court, for many years on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we would leave his home around 6 a.m. and drive up to Tenafly, New Jersey, to spend the day with Sister Virgilius and her fellow sisters, many of whom also taught Thomas and others at St. Benedict’s.

We had lunch in the cafeteria with all the nuns, and Thomas’ face displayed such joy as he reminisced about those days and caught up on how the nuns were all doing. He would visit sisters who were bedridden in the infirmary.

When Sister Virgilius passed away in 2013 at age 100, we attended her funeral together.

In October 2021, many celebrated Thomas’ 30th anniversary on the Supreme Court and his influence on American law, including a daylong celebration at The Heritage Foundation with remarks by the justice himself. But Thomas was more focused on an event earlier that week: the blessing of a statue of Sister Virgilius and two students at a cemetery where 200 Franciscan sisters are buried.

On a beautiful October day, in a small, private ceremony attended by more than 20 nuns, many of whom were in their 80s, along with friends and family members, Thomas greeted all of them with hugs and smiles.

When he made his brief remarks, Thomas fought through tears to thank the nuns who changed his life. It was a beautiful moment that captured his humility.

β€œThis extraordinary statue is dedicated to you sistersβ€”to all of you who have given so much and who have asked for so little,” he said.

As Martin Luther King Jr. Day comes around every year, I always think of how these nuns changed the course of Clarence Thomas’ life, and how this great man, our nation’s greatest Supreme Court justice, always found time to honor those who helped him under the most difficult of circumstances.

At Least 68 Reported Killed in Nepal Plane Crash

 

A plane crashed in Nepal Sunday morning β€” killing at least 68 people.

 

The New York Post reports:

 

The Yeti Airline plane was carrying 68 passengers and 4 crew members when it crashed near Pokhara International Airport, the Kathmandu Post reported, citing an airline spokesperson. Two infants and 10 foreign nations were also on board.

 

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal called an emergency meeting of cabinet members after the crashed, and ordered security personnel to immediately assist with rescue efforts, the news outlet reported.

 

Dahal said the plane was flying from the capital, Kathmandu, to Pokhara in central Nepal when it went down.

 

A rescue team has been sent to the crash site via helicopter, the Kathmandu Post said.

The tyrannical Biden Regime remains determined not to let the U.S. Constitution stop its war on law-abiding gun owners. The Reload’s Stephen Gutowski reported that the agency plans to reclassify pistol braces, a highly popular gun accessory, in a way which would ban them unless registered with the ATF. Anyone who refuses to comply could face up to ten years in prison.

 

So a person who wants to keep a gun with a pistol brace will have to participate in a federal gun registry or go to jail. Is there any question the Regime would utilize this registry to harass these gun owners in several ways?

 

The ATF previously ruled such braces were completely legal. Yet the Regime’s ATF will simply dare the courts to stop their assault on Americans and the Constitution.

The agency announced plans to publish the final version of their rule reclassifying pistol braces, a popular firearm accessory, on Friday. Anyone who does not comply with the rule could be subject to upwards of ten years in federal prison despite the agency previously ruling the braces were legal multiple times over the past decade.

State of emergency declared in Peru amid deadly protests

 

The measure was imposed amid the ongoing unrest over the ouster of former President Pedro Castillo

 

The Peruvian government has introduced a state of emergency in a number of provinces in a bid to tackle violent anti-government protests. The South American country has been gripped by unrest since early December 2022, when President Pedro Castillo was removed from office and arrested over accusations of corruption.

 

The former president’s supporters, who claim the ouster was a coup, have been involved in clashes with security forces ever since. Castillo has denied any wrongdoing, insisting that his removal was orchestrated by his political opponents.

On Friday, President Dina Boluarte apologized to the nation for the violence that has so far claimed 47 lives.

In comments reported by Taagesschau, Schellnhuber said that there were are two competing property rights issues at hand, namely the right to spend one’s money on high emissions activities and the rights of the rest of the population to β€œhave an environment worth living [in]”.

 

In a carbon credit style scheme, those who emit over the three-tonne limit by the middle of the century would need to privately purchase credits from those who are under the limit, he suggested: β€œEvery person gets three tons of CO2 per year, but if you need more, you just have to buy it.”

 

At present, according to the news outlet, the average German is far above Schellnhuber’s proposed limit, as ten tonnes of C02 emissions are produced by the average citizen. Citing the Paris World Inequality lab, there are some millionaires within the country that produce over 100 tonnes of CO2 per year, and some thousands of elites worldwide emit over 2,000 tonnes per year.

 

Aside from not spelling out how he expects people to drastically reduce their carbon emissions, the German scientist did not elaborate on how exactly this will be tracked and monitored.

Mr. Mehaffie was charged with "aiding and abetting" assaults by others on federal law enforcement officers, corruptly obstructing a Congressional proceeding, civil disorder, and two misdemeanors for being unlawfully inside the Capitol.

 

After five days of testimony, including more than four hours of testimony by David Mehaffie himself, the Judge entered a verdict of "Not Guilty" on the count of corruptly obstructing Congress, but guilty on all the remaining counts. This is the first "Not Guilty" verdict obtained at trial on a felony charge in all the January 6 cases brought by the government.

 

As to the remaining four counts, the Judge expressly found that David Mehaffie did not "aid and abet" anyone with regard to assaults committed against federal law enforcement officers. But the statute under which he was charged covers conduct much broader than "assault" – it also covers conduct that obstructs, impedes, interfers with, etc., federal law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties. The Judge found that Mr. Mehaffie's conduct did "aid and abet" others in their efforts to obstruct, impede, etc., federal law enforcement officers as they attempted to prevent protesters from entering the Capitol.

 

The "obstructing Congress" count, with a statutory maximum penalty of 20 years, was the most serious charge David Mehaffie was facing, and the acquittal on that charge makes his potential exposure at sentencing much less severe.

 

Sentencing is set for January 26, 2023. Much work remains to be done in that regard, and any contributions towards the costs of defending David Mehaffie are greatly appreciated by David and his family."

Tracking CIA-Backed β€˜Zero Units’ in Afghanistan

 

Deadly night raids. Faulty U.S. intelligence. A β€œclassified” war loophole. Lynzy Billing has spent years investigating the civilian casualties of Afghanistan’s C.I.A.-backed Zero Units.

 

In 2019, reporter Lynzy Billing returned to Afghanistan to research the murders of her mother and sister nearly 30 years earlier. Instead, in the country’s remote reaches, she stumbled upon the C.I.A.-backed Zero Units, who conducted night raids β€” quick, brutal operations designed to have resounding psychological impacts while ostensibly removing high-priority enemy targets.

 

So, Billing attempted to catalog the scale of civilian deaths left behind by just one of four Zero Units, known as the 02, over a four year period. The resulting report represents an effort no one else has done or will ever be able to do again. Here is what she found:

 

At least 452 civilians were killed in 107 raids. This number is almost certainly an undercount. While some raids did result in the capture or death of known militants, others killed bystanders or appeared to target people for no clear reason.

A troubling number of raids appear to have relied on faulty intelligence by the C.I.A. and other U.S. intelligence-gathering services. Two Afghan Zero Unit soldiers described raids they were sent on in which they said their targets were chosen by the United States.

The former head of Afghanistan’s intelligence agency acknowledged that the units were getting it wrong at times and killing civilians. He oversaw the Zero Units during a crucial period and agreed that no one paid a consequence for those botched raids. He went on to describe an operation that went wrong: β€œI went to the family myself and said: β€˜We are sorry. … We want to be different from the Taliban.’ And I mean we did, we wanted to be different from the Taliban.”

The Afghan soldiers weren’t alone on the raids; U.S. special operations forces soldiers working with the C.I.A. often joined them. The Afghan soldiers Billing spoke to said they were typically accompanied on raids by at least 10 U.S. special operations forces soldiers. β€œThese deaths happened at our hands. I have participated in many raids,” one of the Afghans said, β€œand there have been hundreds of raids where someone is killed and they are not Taliban or ISIS, and where no militants are present at all.”

 

Military planners baked potential β€œcollateral damage” into the pre-raid calculus β€” how many women/children/noncombatants were at risk if the raid went awry, according to one U.S. Army Ranger Billing spoke to. Those forecasts were often wildly off, he said, yet no one seemed to really care. He told Billing that night raids were a better option than airstrikes but acknowledged that the raids risked creating new insurgent recruits. β€œYou go on night raids, make more enemies, then you gotta go on more night raids for the more enemies you now have to kill.”

Because the Zero Units operated under a CIA program, their actions were part of a β€œclassified” war, with the lines of accountability so obscured that no one had to answer for operations that went wrong. And U.S. responsibility for the raids was quietly muddied by a legal loophole that allows the C.I.A. β€” and any U.S. soldiers lent to the agency for their operations β€” to act without the same level of oversight as the American military.

Congressional aides and former intelligence committee staffers said they don’t believe Congress was getting a complete picture of the C.I.A.’s overseas operations. Lawyers representing whistleblowers said there is ample motivation to downplay to Congress the number of civilians killed or injured in such operations. By the time reports get to congressional oversight committees, one lawyer said, they’re β€œundercounting deaths and overstating accuracy.”
