Secondly, there are the many vulnerable independent banks which the Too Big To Fail banks want removed from the marketplace before the long-planned controlled demolition of the Global Economic & Financial System begins. All of the TBTF banks want those depositors quite badly in order to compensate for losing so many customers since the banksters have been outed. The entire U.S. Banking Industry is being prepared for a total takeover by the U.S. Federal Government. It wasn’t until America’s crooked fact-checkers said Joe Biden had no intention of banning gas stoves that I was certain Joe Biden would ban gas stoves. And now we know he is — 96 percent of them.

 

“Yes, the Biden administration is coming for your gas stove,” writes Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) in the Washington Examiner.

 

It’s a backdoor ban by way of outrageous regulations only four percent of gas stoves will meet. And it’s being done, not through democracy and our elected representatives, but by fascist bureaucrats in the Department of Energy.

 

Yes, Virginia, the Deep State is real…

 

The Department of Energy is conducting this gas stove grab through a rule that would impose extreme energy performance standards on residential cooktops. The department’s proposed rule sets requirements for gas cooktops at the maximum technologically feasible or “max-tech” level. Based on the Department of Energy’s own analysis, gas cooktops at the max-tech level represent just 4% of current market share and exclude all conventional free-stand ranges.

 

Any rule that causes 96% of the products available today to be eliminated from the market is an extreme regulation. In fact, it is essentially an outright ban on gas stoves.

 

Back in January, news broke that the Biden administration was seeking to ban gas stoves. This breaking news did not come from anonymous sources or out of thin air. It came from an on-the-record interview with Biden Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka, Jr.:

 

A federal agency says a ban on gas stoves is on the table amid rising concern about harmful indoor air pollutants emitted by the appliances.

 

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to take action to address the pollution, which can cause health and respiratory problems.

 

“This is a hidden hazard,” Richard Trumka Jr., an agency commissioner, said in an interview. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”

 

Naturally, such an outrageous and anti-American idea stirred people up who believe in freedom.

With the highest turnout in 30 years, Dutch voters gave an extraordinary signal to their four-party Government on Wednesday: the Farmer Citizen Movement (BoerBurgerBeweging, or BBB) is set to come first in regional elections, which decide the make-up of the Dutch Senate.

 

In a long voting day, with locations from repurposed drive-through testing centres to ancient churches, an estimated 61% of Dutch people turned out. The result was astonishing, even though the party has been creeping up the polls, feeding on anti-establishment feeling after unpopular Covid lockdowns.

 

Some analysts saw the election as a fight between two ‘moods’ in the Netherlands: a mood of (Right-wing) discontent, echoed also across other countries, versus the traditional consensus-driven Dutch mood. With 18 parties in parliament, politicians have typically found a way to muddle along, but this election was different thanks to the thorny issue of nitrogen compound pollution, which is tying the country in knots before a bill has even passed through parliament.

 

EU rules, Dutch laws, and court verdicts mean the country must reduce emissions of ammonia, nitrogen oxides and nitrous oxide from farming, transport and building machines. The question is who takes the hit — and whether 30% of productive farms should be shut, forcibly if necessary. The Netherlands, which feeds the world with its intensive farming and livestock-heavy agriculture, is at the sharp end of the international climate debate.

 

According to initial results, the BBB, headed by sole MP Caroline van der Plas, will be the largest party in the Senate — polling at more than 30% in some regions. Meanwhile, support for the Government has been slashed. The result is a direct challenge to Dutch PM Mark Rutte, who has been embroiled in a number of scandals, such as gas mining in Groningen at the expense of citizen safety, punishing innocent (often dual-national) citizens for childcare benefit fraud and ongoing Dutch farmer protests about nitrogen emissions. Small wonder, then, that 46% of voters said they were specifically voting against the current national administration.

 

The strength of green feeling here, both for and against, is a bellwether for the struggle to come in other countries and farming economies. But BBB should not be dismissed as ‘anti-green’; rather farmers are more of a lime green versus the dark green of the eco activists, both of whom claim they want to protect the land.

 

The reality of climate change mitigation or adaptation is playing out in the Netherlands right now, where these new provincial assemblies will need to come up with detailed plans to reduce nitrogen pollution by July.

Meanwhile, there is a national housing crisis and this is one of the top personal issues for people in the Netherlands. Nitrogen rules are getting in the way. Still, the success of the BBB serves as a warning shot to Mark Rutte and his government.“This is a landslide we haven’t seen for years,” said CDA leader Wopke Hoekstra, a Government party whose traditional farmer support has evaporated. “It is an extraordinarily bitter pill.”

The Federal Reserve Bank of the United States has announced that it is launching an instant payment transfer service called “FedNow Service,” which has features of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and some analysts believe is the first big step towards a “digital dollar.”

 

On Wednesday, within hours of our reporting that the Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank failures could spur renewed calls for the U.S. to implement a CBDC, the Federal Reserve announced that the U.S. is rolling out the FedNow instant payment transfer service in July.

 

“The Federal Reserve announced that the FedNow Service will start operating in July and provided details on preparations for launch,” the announcement read.

 

“We couldn’t be more excited about the forthcoming FedNow launch, which will enable every participating financial institution, the smallest to the largest and from all corners of the country, to offer a modern instant payment solution,” said Ken Montgomery, first vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and FedNow program executive. “With the launch drawing near, we urge financial institutions and their industry partners to move full steam ahead with preparations to join the FedNow Service.”

 

The Fed added that the FedNow Service “will launch with a robust set of core clearing and settlement functionality and value-added features. More features and enhancements will be added in future releases to continue supporting safety, resiliency and innovation in the industry as the FedNow network expands in the coming years.”

 

“With the FedNow Service, the Federal Reserve is creating a leading-edge payments system that is resilient, adaptive, and accessible,” said Tom Barkin, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and FedNow Program executive sponsor. “The launch reflects an important milestone in the journey to help financial institutions serve customer needs for instant payments to better support nearly every aspect of our economy.”

 

The Federal Reserve says that it developed the FedNow Service “to facilitate nationwide reach of instant payment services by financial institutions — regardless of size or geographic location — around the clock, every day of the year.”

 

“Through financial institutions participating in the FedNow Service, businesses and individuals will be able to send and receive instant payments at any time of day, and recipients will have full access to funds immediately, giving them greater flexibility to manage their money and make time-sensitive payments,” The Fed said. “Access will be provided through the Federal Reserve’s FedLine® network, which serves more than 10,000 financial institutions directly or through their agents.”

 

As noted by Steve Kaaru of CoinGeek, FedNow has been in the works since 2019 and is “touted to be the fastest way to make payments by financial institutions in the U.S. around the clock, every day of the year. Banks, payment services, and individual users will receive and have instant access to payments made through the service.”

The report added that FedNow will “address a challenge that has plagued the financial industry worldwide for several decades: facilitating instant payments. Various players have come up with their own solutions, such as VISA (NASDAQ: V) and Mastercard (NASDAQ: MA), which have Direct and Send, respectively, to enable real-time payments.”

 

It points out that in the U.S., a collective of banks and payment processors known as The Clearing House runs real-time payments, adding that one of the emerging solutions to this challenge has been central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) to facilitate real-time payments. In the U.S., Fed chair Jerome Powell has dismissed the need for a digital dollar, and FedNow is his response to the call for a CBDC.

 

“The jury is still out on whether FedNow will be a forerunner for the digital dollar or impede the CBDC’s progress in the world’s largest economy,” Kaaru remarked. “For now, what’s clear is that it will change the payments landscape in the U.S.”

 

In December, Norbert Michel of the Cato Institute argued that the Federal Reserve should drop FedNow and any plans to launch a CBDC.

 

“Just like FedNow, CBDCs should be left on the drawing board,” Michel argued. “Both usurp the private sector. Supporters of both ignore the many harms that the government has already done to financial markets and assume that the government will provide better solutions this time.’

 

“If Congress really wants to provide more access to financial markets and ensure more innovation in financial services, members should support more private innovation and competition,” he added. “At the very least, they should work to lessen government monopoly and regulation while ensuring that the Fed cannot issue a retail CBDC. Then they can start getting the government out of the payments system business.”

 

While there is currently no imminent plan for the Fed to implement a “digital dollar,” a House bill was filed in 2022 to authorize the Treasury to create one. Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) was joined by four other members of Congress in filing the bill: Jesús Chuy Garcia, (D-IL), Ayanna Pressley, (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

 

“The electronic dollar, a virtual representation of a US dollar, would allow people to make payments using tokens on mobile phones or through cards versus cash,” Lucas Mearian of Computer World reported on the legislation.

 

“ECASH (electronic cash), as the bill calls it, would be a bearer instrument that wouldn’t require payment processing intermediaries, such as SWIFT, the world’s largest payment messaging network,” the report noted. “That means payments using ECASH would be near instantaneous — even across national borders — and processing fees would likely be dramatically reduced.”

 

In March 2022, President Joe Biden issued an executive order calling for more research on developing a national digital currency through the Federal Reserve Bank or “The Fed.”

 

The Executive Order called for the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department to “Explore a U.S. Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) by placing urgency on research and development of a potential United States CBDC, should issuance be deemed in the national interest. The Order directs the U.S. Government to assess the technological infrastructure and capacity needs for a potential U.S. CBDC in a manner that protects Americans’ interests. The Order also encourages the Federal Reserve to continue its research, development, and assessment efforts for a U.S. CBDC, including development of a plan for broader U.S. Government action in support of their work. This effort prioritizes U.S. participation in multi-country experimentation, and ensures U.S. leadership internationally to promote CBDC development that is consistent with U.S. priorities and democratic values.”

 

The Federal Reserve Bank is still exploring the development of CBDCs. 11 nations thus far have implemented CBDCs, according to the Atlantic Council’s tracker.

 

The World Economic Forum supports the implementation of CBDCs to promote more inclusion and stability in the global digital economy. It cites America’s central bank, the Federal Reserve, as saying that if CBDC were to be introduced, it would be “the safest digital asset available to the general public, with no associated credit or liquidity risk.”

 

“The resilience of financial systems could also be boosted,” WEF adds. “If a natural disaster or the failure of a payments company made cash unavailable, a CBDC could provide a back-up, the International Monetary Fund says.”

 

More than 100 countries, including 19 G20 nations, are now exploring central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), the World Economic Forum noted.

In the wake of the SVB and Signature failures, the banking system is moving towards consolidation. First Republic Bank, on the verge of collapse, was rescued by a consortium of big banks and lending houses.

 

“A group of the nation’s biggest banks swooped in on Thursday afternoon to rescue First Republic Bank with a $30 billion deposit, a move intended to shore up the beleaguered San Francisco lender amid fears of a broader financial crisis,” Fox Business reported.

 

“JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Bank of America and Wells Fargo will each contribute $5 billion; Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley will deposit about $2.5 billion each,” according to a news release from the banks. “Truist, PNC, U.S. Bancorp, State Street and Bank of New York Mellon will provide about $1 billion apiece.”

 

“This action by America’s largest banks reflects their confidence in First Republic and in banks of all sizes, and it demonstrates their overall commitment to helping banks serve their customers and communities,” the coalition said in a joint statement.

 

J.P. Morgan Chase and other big banks like Citigroup have been flooded with new clients in the aftermath of the bank collapses, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday. In the aftermath of the bank failures, two of the largest in U.S. history, there is renewed concern about a ‘domino effect’ and where it may be leading.

 

While the Federal Reserve Bank’s official position is that it is yet to launch a CBDC and there are no current plans to implement a “digital dollar,” the institution has a long history of moving the goal posts.

 

According to Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s 2017 remarks on The History and Structure of the Federal Reserve, “America’s central bank was founded through the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, which was largely a reaction to the Panic of 1907 that caused inflation-adjusted GNP to fall 12% (twice as bad as the fall during the 2008 crisis).”

 

“After the panic ended, there was a broad sense that reform was needed, although consensus on the exact nature of that reform was elusive,” he added. “Some called for an institution similar in structure to the Bank of England at the time, with centralized power, owned and operated by the banking system. Some wanted control to be lodged with the federal government in Washington instead… The resulting institution was a compromise, created by the Federal Reserve Act in 1913… a more federated system was created, establishing the Federal Reserve Board in Washington and the 12 Reserve Banks located around the country.”

 

As Powell’s statement conveys, the Federal Reserve was founded as a “federated system” but has evolved over time into “America’s central bank.”

 

“Today, the Federal Reserve sets the nation’s monetary policy, supervises and regulates banking institutions, maintains the stability of the financial system, and provides financial services to depository institutions, the U.S. government, and foreign official institutions,” the official website states.

 

As summed up by Thomas Jefferson in a letter to Samuel Kercheval in 1816, it is the tendency of government to grow more powerful and to corrupt society.

 

“And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes a precedent for the second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering,” Jefferson wrote.

 

Such is the case with FedNow and may be the case with CBDCs. It will then be a matter of time before Fed proponents advocate for a digital dollar. And thus, by that time, it may be too late to stop it.

 

A digital dollar would be the ultimate instrument of economic and social control. It is therefore the dream of central planners and the nemesis of freedom-loving people in America.

Translation: the Fed’s hiking cycle is dead and buried, and here comes the next round of massive liquidity injections. It also means that the Fed, Treasury and FDIC have just experienced the most devastating humiliation in recent history – just 4 days ago Powell was telling Congress he could hike 50bps and here we are now using taxpayer funds to bail out banks that have collapsed because they couldn’t even handle 4.75% and somehow the Fed has no idea!

Date for Xi Jinping visit to Russia revealed

The Chinese president will arrive in Moscow next Monday and stay for three days, both sides have confirmed

 

President Xi Jinping of China will make a state visit to Russia next Monday, the Kremlin and the Chinese Foreign Ministry have revealed. The trip will last until Wednesday. Xi will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss “aspects of further development of comprehensive partnership,” according to a statement from the Kremlin.

 

There will also be a discussion of the international agenda and cooperation between the two nations in world affairs, the Kremlin added. Russian and Chinese officials are expected to sign a number of bilateral agreements.

 

Putin invited Xi to Russia during a phone call in late December, but the date of the trip was not previously announced. The two presidents have been in frequent contact after Moscow launched its military operation in Ukraine in early 2022, both in person at international events and via video link.

 

Last month, Beijing revealed an initiative for a settlement to the conflict in Ukraine. Moscow said it would consider the proposal, but reiterated that Kiev’s refusal to acknowledge the new reality on the ground is a major obstacle to negotiations.

 

The Ukrainian government has stated that its goal is military victory over Russia and the expulsion of Russian troops from all territories that Kiev claims to be under its sovereignty. It has also prohibited any negotiations with Moscow as long as Putin remains in office.

The Soviet-era planes are “unlikely to dramatically change” the situation on the battlefield, a Ukrainian military spokesman has said

 

Ukraine’s military has voiced doubts after Poland vowed to transfer some of its MiG-29 fighter jets, saying the aging aircraft is a welcome addition but will be of limited help, whiledemanding“modern” US-made planes instead.

 

Polish President Andrzej Duda announced the upcoming weapon transfer on Thursday, noting that Warsaw would send four “fully operational” MiG-29s sometime “in the coming days,” the first batch of around a dozen jets in total.

 

“These MiGs are still in service in Poland’s air force. They’re in their last years of operation but are still for the most part in full working order,” he said of the aircraft, the first variant of which entered service in the Soviet Union in 1983.

 

Though Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said the deliveries could take up to six weeks at a press conference on Tuesday, the timetable appears to have shifted forward, with Duda stating that Poland is now “on the verge”of sending the jets to Ukraine. It remains unclear how the jets will be delivered across the border and when they will arrive.

 

Following the announcement, Kiev said that while it is “grateful” for the weapons,the Soviet aircraft would not be enough, with Air Force spokesman Yuri Ignat noting that they are “unlikely to dramatically change the situation on the contact line.”

 

“MiGs will not solve the tasks; we need F-16s,”he told reporters, adding that while the MiGs would “help to strengthen our capabilities,”Ukraine requires “multi-purpose Western aircraft” to “gain an advantage over the enemy.”

 

Moscow has yet to comment on the MiG transfer, but has repeatedly urged against foreign arms shipments to Kiev, arguing they will only prolong the conflict and make a negotiated settlement impossible.

 

Despite Ukraine’s continued demands for American fighter jets, the White House has refused to take that step, with National Security Council spokesman John Kirby telling reporters that Poland’s decision “doesn't change our calculus with regards to F16s.”However, Washington drew similar red lines regarding other military hardware earlier in the conflict, such as the Patriot missile battery, but later reversed course and authorized shipments to Kiev.

 

Warsaw previously said it would only provide fighter jets as part of an international coalition, but appears to be moving ahead on the plan alone. While fellow NATO member Slovakia recently signaled that it may be willing to supply its own MiG-29s, no final decision has yet been made.

Evidence suggest U.S. has known since 2017 about ties between Wuhan lab and Beijing's bioweapons program, yet federal agencies still funded research there.

 

As President Joe Biden weighs whether to sign a law passed unanimously by Congress to declassify U.S. intelligence on the origins of the COVID-19 virus, new evidence has emerged that the State Department and National Institutes of Health routed at least $1.7 million in tax dollars to a Wuhan virology lab despite evidence it was tied to the Chinese military — and possibly the communist nation's bioweapons program — according to government documents reviewed by Just the News.

 

The United States first declared in a 2005 State Department document that communist China maintained an offensive biological weapons program in violation of its treaty commitments and that it was run in part by an arm of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Academy of Military Medical Sciences (AMMS). That report specifically cited the AMMS' Fifth Institute as the epicenter of the country's bioweapons program.

A decade later, multiple medical publications emerged from China that linked the AMMS to research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the very lab that the FBI, the Energy Department and other U.S. intelligence agencies believe was the source of a leak that started the COVID-19 pandemic in late 2019.

 

It's also the same lab that received grants from a contractor working for Dr. Anthony Fauci's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the U.S. Agency for International Development, the foreign aid arm of the Stpostedate Department.

 

The ties between AMMS and the Wuhan lab sat in plain view for years before the pandemic started, federal documents show.

 

For instance, a 2015 study posted on the NIH's National Library of Medicine site shows collaboration between the Wuhan lab and AAMS on anthrax spores. Several other studies between 2015 and 2019 also listed both Chinese science organizations as collaborators.

Algeria cautions against Western oil price cap

The Western price ceiling on Russian oilwill spark uncertainty and disrupt global tradeflows, the Algerian energy minister warned on Wednesday.

 

The OPEC+ decision to cut output by 2 million barrels per day last November was designed to bring stability to global oil markets, Mohamed Arkab noted in an interview with information company Energy Intelligence. The official said unilateral actions by the West to limit the price of crude could undermine the efforts of the oil producers' alliance, and bring more uncertainty to the sector.

 

Western sanctions on Russian seaborne crude took effect last December. Theyban tankers that fly the flag of any EU member statefrom carrying crude originating in Russia, unless it is sold to the buyer at or under an agreed price of $60 per barrel.

 

A similar embargo accompanied by price caps was imposed on Russian refined petroleum products in February. In response, Moscow banned sales of its crude and petroleum products to nations supporting the scheme.

 

The Algerian minister’s remarks echoed a recent warning from Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.

 

“If a price cap were to be imposed on Saudi oil exports,we will not sell oil to any country that imposes a price cap on our supply, and we will reduce oil production, and I would not be surprised if others do the same,” bin Salman told Energy Intelligence on Tuesday.

 

In February, Russia announced plans to voluntarily reduce oil production in March by 500,000 barrels per day, as it halts sales to buyers that comply with the Western-imposed price ceiling.

 

A number of economists have repeatedly warned that Western sanctions on Russian crude will only further tighten global supplies.

 

Algeria has been an OPEC member since 1969. The North African country has the tenth-largest proven natural gas reserves globally, and is the world’s fourth-largest gas exporter, with major pipeline links to Europe. It also ranks 16th in proven oil reserves, and exports roughly 60% of its total production.

“The pilots will not be flying any platforms during this event but they will be using a simulator during portions of their visit.”

 

The official added that “there are no updates to provide regarding F-16s to Ukraine” and there are no immediate plans to increase the number of Ukrainian pilots in the US.

 

Ukraine has been pushing for the US to provide fighter jets and top Ukrainian officials haveescalatedtheir public lobbying campaign in recent days, arguing that they need the planes to defend against Russian missile and drone attacks.

 

But that push has beenmet with skepticismby US and allied officials, who say the jets would be impractical because theyrequire considerable trainingand Russia hasextensive anti-aircraft systemsthat could easily shoot them down.

 

When previously asked if the US would be providing F-16s to Ukraine, President Joe Biden responded with a flat “no.”

 

Early on in the war, the US also believed that supplying Ukraine with new fighter jetswould risk an escalation between NATO and Russia.

 

In an interview with ABC News in February, Biden said that Ukraine “doesn’t need F-16s now,” despite repeated public pleas from Ukrainian officials and mounting pressure from congressional Republicans.

 

US and European officials have previously told CNN that F-16 fighter jets were impractical in this situation.

 

Germany last week ruled out fighter jet deliveries to Ukraine completely while UK government officials echoed the sentiment and said that they believed it was not practical to send jets into Ukraine.

 

Dutch and Polish leaders also appeared reluctant when asked about sending F-16 fighter jets.

 

On Tuesday, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl told the House Armed Services Committee that it wouldtake 18 months to trainUkrainian pilots to fly F-16s and argued training pilots for that amount of time would beprohibitively expensive.

 

“It’s just hard for me to tell any member of Congress or the American people that the best use of that dollar spent right now is on F-16s,” Kahl said in the hearing.

Norway also had a profit motive to join the alleged American plot, Florian Philippot has said

 

French party leader Florian Philippot believes it has long been obvious that the United States was behind last year’s sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines, which were built to deliver Russian natural gas to Western Europe.

 

“Even before the war in Ukraine, the US for years fought against Nord Stream, it was a permanent part of their policy,” he told RIA Novosti in an interview published on Friday.

 

“In early February 2022, [US President Joe] Biden said the Americans could make it so that the pipeline was no more. That’s what happened. And it was in the interest of the Americans,” according to Philippot, who heads the right-wing ‘The Patriots’ party in France.

 

Last month, veteran investigative journalist Seymour Hersh reported that Biden personally ordered the bombing of the pipelines, and that Norway assisted in the sabotage. He cited an unnamed source and supported his case using some of the same arguments as Philippot.

 

Biden remarked that “there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2” during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in early February 2022. Hersh also claimed that Biden allowed US special services to classify the operation in a way that justified not informing the US Congress about it beforehand.

 

Nord Stream 2 is the name of the second, newer pipeline, which was meant to greatly expand the capacity of the original Nord Stream, but was never operational. Both were disabled by sabotage.

 

Philippot said he considered US culpability “obvious” even before Hersh’s revelations, but was not sure about Norway’s role. He reasoned that Oslo had a motive since it “competes with Russia in gas trade, and many European nations replaced the Russian gas with Norwegian.” Both the US and Norway have denied any responsibility.

 

Philippot alsourged France to leave NATO, saying the military alliance “needs to be disbanded becauseit has no reason to exist.”

 

“We have tostop this agenda of world war against Russia and China, it is absolutelyinsane,” he told the Russian news outlet, blaming the US for increasing global tensions.

 

He also called French President Emmanuel Macron a deceitful leader.His government “prioritizes the US, and not its own people,”Philippot stated.

 

He cited Macron’s decision to send billions of dollars worth of weapons and ammunition to Kiev, even as he is pushing through an unpopular pension reform, claiming a lack of money to fund social programs.

Cartoon also doesn't mean that it's automatically okay for children. You can add gore and shit to cartoons as well. That's just an art style, just like anime is an art style.

China warns Japan against ‘dangerous’ militarization

 

Beijing’s Defense Ministry has urged Tokyo to “earnestly learn from the lessons of history”

 

Japan’s decision to once again embrace the path of militarization is “very dangerous” and warrants the attention of the international community, China’s Defense Ministry spokesman warned on Thursday.

 

Senior Colonel Tan Kefei was asked by reporters to comment on recent remarks by Tokyo’s Defense Ministry, which sounded the alarm over Beijing’s decision to increase its military budget.

 

Tan dismissed all such concerns, insisting that China is committed to a path of peaceful development and stressing that its “limited defense expenditure is entirely for safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests” along with regional and global stability. He stressed that China’s defense spending “is open and transparent within a reasonable and appropriate level.”

 

However, the spokesman noted that Japan “has been playing up the so-called ‘external threat’ in recent years” while boosting its defense budget and working to obtain advanced offensive weapons, thereby fueling regional tensions.

 

“We urge the Japanese side to earnestly learn from the lessons of history, and be cautious in words and deeds in matters of military security,” Tan stressed, adding that Tokyo should “stop doing things that undermine regional peace and stability”.

 

Earlier this month, China announced that it would boost its defense spending by 7.2%, bringing the total budget to about $225 billion. However, last December Japan said that its military budget would swell by 20% to a record $55 billion. In February, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also announced that Tokyo intends to buy 400 Tomahawk missiles from the US, citing security concerns over China and North Korea.

UK Bans China’s TikTok from Government Mobile Phones ‘With Immediate Effect’

 

Citing a “specific risk”, the Chinese-developed video-sharing app TikTok has been banned from UK government devices “with immediate effect”.

 

The UK banned TikTok on “government corporate devices” on Thursday, it announced in a Parliamentary statement. While government spokesman Oliver Dowden said the ban did not extend to the general public or the private mobile phones of government ministers, he emphasised that individuals should think hard before downloading some social media apps.

 

Noting that social media apps “collect and store huge amounts of user data, including contacts, user content, and geolocation data” and saying there was a “specific risk” to government devices, Dowden said from now on only apps from an approved list could be installed on government phones and TikTok wasn’t going to be one of them.

 

The government is “going to ban the use of TikTok on government devices. We will do so with immediate effect… Overall this approach aligns with action taken by allies including the United States, Canada, and the EU”, Dowden continued, saying “our security must come first”.

 

Nevertheless, there would be exemptions to the ban, he said, meaning TikTok could still be downloaded onto some government devices “where it is required for operational reasons”, presumably for posting government-sponsored content onto the platform in a bid to reach young people. In these cases, the installation of the TikTok app would be reviewed by security before going ahead.

 

Several government departments still have TikTok accounts.

 

As Dowden noted, the ban follows several other Western powers have already banned the app for government users over security concerns. Accusing the government of having taken too long to make the move, Britain’s left-wing opposition Labour said the action was “behind the curve”.

 

…it is clear there could be a risk around how sensitive government data is accessed by certain platforms. As many colleagues will know, social media apps collect and store huge amounts of user data, including contacts, user content, and geolocation data. On government devices, that data can be sensitive. So today we are strengthening the security of those devices in two key respects.

 

First, we are moving to a system where government devices will only be able to access third-party apps on a pre-approved list. This system is already in place across many departments, now it will be the rule across government.

 

Second, we are also going to ban the use of TikTok on government devices. We will do so with immediate effect… this is a precautionary move, we know there is already limited use of TokTok across government, but it is also good cyber-hygiene.

 

Given the particular risk around government devices which may contain sensitive information, it is both prudent and proportionate to restrict the use of certain apps, particularly when it comes to certain apps where a large amount of data can be stored and accessed.

 

This ban applies to government corporate devices within ministerial and non-ministerial departments, but it will not extend to personal devices for government employees or ministers, or the general public. This is because this is a proportionate move based on a specific risk on government devices.

 

However as is always the case, we do advise individuals to practice caution online and to consider each social media platform’s data policies before downloading and using them.

 

Of course, it is the case that ministers receive regular security briefings and advice on protecting data on their personal devices and on mitigating cyber threats.

 

We will also be putting in place specific, very limited exemptions for the use of TikTok on government devices where it is required for operational reasons. Those exemptions will only be granted by security teams on a case-by-case basis with ministerial clearance as appropriate.

 

Overall this approach aligns with action taken by allies including the United States, Canada, and the EU.

 

Our Security must always come first, and today we are strengthening that security in a prudent and proportionate way and I commend this statement to the house.

No parks, no pools, no public transportation, no libraries, no stores. That all had to be built up. And then the family had to buy a second car, that they couldn't afford, so that mom could get to work to pay for a house that they couldn't afford. Then once the neighborhood was built up, the Dems. brought in Section 8 government housing to ruin those neighborhoods too. And then they told Whites that they had White Privilege.

 

Then the schools that had been good enough for all of the White kids in the 60s, suddenly weren't good enough for the Black kids in the 70s, so they started busing the Black kids into the suburbs.

 

Meanwhile, in the now Black neighborhoods, that had been White, they convinced Black women that they didn't need to be married to have kids, that the government would be their Sugar Daddy. Thereby, destroying Black families.

Doctor who helped halt COVID 'misinformation' law sues Stanford for punishing 'political activity'

 

ACalifornia pediatric emergency room physician who helped secure an injunction against the state's medical misinformation law on First Amendment grounds is now going after his own institution for alleged labor violations based on his public criticism of COVID-19 policy.

 

Ram Duriseti alleges that Stanford Health Care, part of the university's School of Medicine and his employer of two decades, functionally ignored his noncompliance with its COVID booster mandate "until he engaged in political activity that SHC deemed intolerable," according to his lawsuit, filed by Republican superlawyer Harmeet Dhillon's firm.

 

Chief of Staff Jay Shah told Duriseti Nov. 11, a day after he asked for "an update on his clinical status" and several weeks after "disinformation" activists publicly targeted him, that SHC had actually suspended him for noncompliance on its latest deadline of Aug. 12.

 

Suspension would convert to "voluntary resignation" the next day, Shah allegedly told Duriseti, who remains a clinical associate professor at Stanford and has a PhD from its engineering program.

 

Given that six months had passed between SHC's original, unenforced deadline and subsequent Aug. 12 deadline, the suit claims the mandate was selectively applied against Duriseti in violation of California labor laws because other unboosted employees continue working with no consequences.

 

While he held out on primary-series vaccination because of his low risk for COVID complications and lack of evidence it could stop transmission, Duriseti eventually complied with SHC's mandate by taking Johnson & Johnson's traditional vaccine, which the CDC now discourages, and got COVID anyway.

 

Duriseti twice requested an exemption from mRNA boosting, however, because of increasing evidence of its higher association with myocarditis in his male age range and his history of heart inflammation, which could threaten "the two households he supports," the suit claims. Though twice denied, Duriseti says he faced no consequences until his termination.

 

Omicron variant-targeting bivalent boosters have consistently underperformed against expectations in independent studies, most recently by Finnish government researchers. Their March preprint, not yet peer-reviewed, found "signs of waning" two months after boosting in ages 65 and up and no reduction of severe outcomes in "chronically ill" adults under 65.

 

They are still mandated at several colleges, however, including the University of California System. The lawsuit claims Stanford withdrew the policy behind the booster mandate after his second denied exemption.

Ireland’s Gay St. Patrick’s Day: A State’s Quest for Transgenderism

 

For Ireland’s progressive government, transgenderism and other “LGBTQ+” talking points have become central elements within modern St Patrick’s day celebrations.

 

“Romantic Ireland’s dead and gone. It’s with O’Leary in the grave.” So says, William Butler Yeats, one of the greatest artistic minds my country has ever produced. The line comes from a poem titled “September 1913”, a work that mourns the degradation of Ireland as the island slowly but surely became wealthier. At a time when many living on the island were finally starting to see some sense of financial prosperity, Yeats felt that they were becoming less and less like the heroic souls who came before them, and perhaps more and more like their then-fellow subjects living in Britain.

 

If Yeats found the Irish of the early 20th century of questionable character, he would surely find those of the early 21st completely unrecognisable. Though Ireland is now an independent nation-state, its politicians have largely lost interest in the national question.

 

The political class of the legendary poet’s period largely occupied itself with the independence of Ireland, fighting tooth and nail in order to establish a sovereign republic with complete control of every corner of the island.

 

Such political ambitions have long since been cast aside though, with the modern Irish elite more concerned with pushing progressive values onto the rest of the world, whether they like it or not. It has used its minor position on the world stage to push left-wing ideology, bolstering those who support progressivism and lashing out at those who don’t, frequently using its very identity as a currency to achieve these aims.

 

Like almost every other aspect of Irish culture, heritage and history, St Patrick’s Day has become just another weapon with which the island’s political class can further this progressive agenda.

 

Ireland’s current progressive obsession is that of transgenderism. Ministers across all of the government parties have adopted the view that the tenants of gender ideology must be taught as fact within the country’s elementary and high schools.

 

Understandably, this has not only greatly upset many parents in the country, but a number of schooling and religious associations on the island to boot. Amid talk that children in Ireland would soon be told that they would be able to change gender, the Catholic Primary Schools Management Association (CPSMA) — a body representing 89 per cent of the country’s elementary schools — came out to denounce the plan, arguing that there was “no scientific or medical consensus” for such gender ideology.

 

The group was soon joined by the Irish Muslim Council, which also attacked the measures for being “not appropriate” for school children, backing the claim that there is “a lack of scientific consensus” about the issue.

Failed Silicon Valley Bank gave millions of dollars to BLM and related causes, new database shows

 

Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and Signature Bank New York (SBNY) donated a combined sum of $71.5 million to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, according to a new database released by the Claremont Institute.

 

SVB forked over a whopping $70,650,000 to BLM while, while SBNY gave $850,000 according to the records gathered by the conservative think tank.

 

Claremont's database cited several "social impact reports" that recorded the transactions and highlighted SVB's pledge from early last year, to give $5 billion to companies aiming to assist with "the transition to a sustainable, low carbon, net zero emissions economy."

 

The were criticized following their collapse for taking their eye off the ball, prioritizing eco-conscious environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing over sound investment principles while also focusing on diversity and social justice in hiring over strict merit.

 

One of SVB's LinkedIn posts in 2022 celebrated the "diversity" hire of Jay Ersapah as the head of Financial Risk and Model Risk Management, highlighting how she helped "establish and is the lead for the LGBTQ+ network at Silicon Valley Bank; where she works closely with Stonewall to create and promote a culture where all can bring their authentic selves to work."

 

That same year, Ersapah hosted an "exclusive fireside chat with Suki Sandhu, the author of "How To Get Your Act Together: A Judgement-Free Guide to Diversity and Inclusion for Straight White Men." The topics discussed included "How to get started with LGBTQ+ inclusion" and "Global best practice in LGBTQ+ inclusion — what great looks like."

 

Other big-name corporations listed in the BLM donor database included: CitiGroup and Facebook, which each gave over $1 billion, Amazon (almost $170 million), Apple ($100 million), and American Express ($50 million), among dozens of others.

 

The Biden administration has received sharp criticism for its role in the banking failures from experts who cite a federal spending spree that drove up interest rates, devaluing assets and further fueling ongoing inflation.

 

SVB declined to comment when asked by Just The News about the purposes and financial prudence of its donations. SBNY has closed its doors.

 

Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation gave Just the News a lengthy statement, from which the pertinent excerpts below are culled.

 

"Associating a multi-billion dollar bank failure to supposed donations made to Black organizations," said the organization, "is quite literally the definition of white supremacy — especially when it's a bank that has been and continues to be largely run by white people."

 

The SVB failure "happened because of Silicon Valley Bank's financial missteps and due to former President Trump, along with Democrats and Republicans in congress, rolling back regulations on banks in 2018," said the group. "Focusing on donations to Black organizations doing righteous change work instead of Silicon Valley Bank's executives that were selling off their stock and profiting from their extreme risks just days before the bank failed, like CEO Greg Becker who profited $3.6 million by selling company stock, is a hilarious attempt to shift blame to Black people.

 

"Silicon Valley Bank held $212 billion in assets and $324 billion in total client funds at the end of 2022. Contributions to a variety of progressive Black causes is irrelevant in the conversation about what led to the bank's demise."

 

The BLM statement concluded: "We need to be demanding real accountability both from the private sector and the government, which leads to immediate policy change, including public banking options. Until we stop protecting the interests of tech executives, shareholders, and billionaires, and start protecting Black people from their gruesome exploitation, then we will unfortunately witness many more big bank bailouts."

Author J.K. Rowling continued to prove she will not back down in her criticism of transgender radicalism in a recent podcast episode in which she called the movement “dangerous.”

 

Speaking on the Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling podcast, the acclaimed Harry Potter author said she tried listening to transgender activists to better understand their views but ultimately concluded that something “dangerous” lurked within.

 

“I can only say that I’ve thought about it deeply and hard and long. And I’ve listened, I promise, to the other side,” Rowling said. “And I believe, absolutely, that there is something dangerous about this movement, and it must be challenged.”

 

The British author addressed the trolls who say she somehow “betrayed” the values espoused in her books.

 

“I’m constantly told that I have betrayed my own books, but my position is that I’m absolutely upholding the positions that I took in ‘Potter,’” Rowling said. “My position is that this activist movement in the form that it’s currently taking, echoes the very thing that I was warning against in ‘Harry Potter.’”

 

“I am fighting what I see as a powerful, insidious misogynistic movement that I think has gained huge purchase in very influential areas of society. I do not see this particular movement as either benign or powerless,” she continued.

 

In the summer of 2020, J.K. Rowling said that transgender ideology could lead to the erasure of womanhood as we know it by denying the basic biological functions that differentiate women from men.

 

“If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth,” she tweeted.

 

Following her post, Rowling faced severe social media backlash, prompting “Harry Potter” stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Eddie Redmayne to publicly declare their support for the trans movement. I've played Counter Strike to the tune of 1000s of thousands of matches. I never once learned how to do anything in that game. Listening to death metal or gangsta rap might've caused me to blow some money on speakers, but nothing seriously offensive came of it. Watching movies (or adult movies when I was older) were always just creative wastes of time. It's all fantasy/escapism. Freedom of speech, and expression in film, music, and interactive entertainment.

If the point of all this craziness was to program me to "lose my spirituality" it failed. Miserably. If Russia wants to program everyone into samethink, then the left's fears of the right being like Nazis are validated in that alone. Not everyone on the left wants to gender-bender kids, or completely abolish other people's interpretations of God or right to worship how they choose. They'll poke fun, and that's fine and dandy. Free speech doesn't mean people have to kowtow to anyone's perspective that "this one subject is untouchable because it's your opinion of the ultimate truth".

 

Humans are complex. Expression is complex. Games, movies, and artistic expression of all types are complex. A lack of understanding and knowledge, caused by a sheltered, pre-programed indoctrination, shapes people's perceptions to attribute an externalized metaphysical meaning based on literalism. Messages interpreted from centuries old propaganda mostly unattributed from dubious authors, whose structure doesn't flow, and original intent serves no other purpose than to shape and reform the minds of its subjects to a desired mold. And if you didn't accept the message, you were put to death. That's why they didn't want people reading it for themselves because even back then people were calling bullshit.

 

Except St. Patrick. He was OK. And a couple of others. It's not all bad. Just the extremists are annoying as fuck, and we probably shouldn't let them control government. Jefferson and Paine warned people about that.

Comer Reveals Biden Family Members Receiving Payments from Chinese Energy Company

 

WASHINGTON—Today, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability issued a memorandum revealing new evidence resulting from the investigation into the Biden family’s influence peddling and business schemes. Subpoenaed financial records show thatfrom 2015 to 2017, Biden family members – Hunter Biden, James Biden, Hallie Biden, and an unknown “Biden” – and their companies collectively received $1.3 million in payments from accounts related to Rob Walker, a Biden family associate.

 

Notably, on March 1, 2017, less than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public office, State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to Rob Walker’s company. The next day, the company wired $1,065,000 to a company associated with James Gilliar, another Biden family associate. Afterwards, the Biden family received approximately $1,065,000 in payments over a three-month period in different bank accounts. From the bank records, it appears that the Biden family received approximately one-third of the money obtained from the China wire.

 

Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) issued the following statement on this new evidence of the Biden family’s suspicious business transactions:

 

“Democrats described our subpoena as providing nothing more than records for Papa John’s and Starbucks, but they failed to mention the records we’ve received documenting the Biden family’s business schemes. Over the course of several years, members of the Biden family and their companies received over $1.3 million in payments from accounts related to their associate, Rob Walker. Most of this money came as a result of a wire from a Chinese energy company and went not only to Hunter and James Biden, but also to Hallie Biden and an unknown ‘Biden.’It is unclear what services were provided to obtain this exorbitant amount of money.

 

“The Oversight Committee is concerned about the national security implications resulting from President Biden’s family receiving millions of dollars from foreign nationals. We will continue to follow the money trail and facts to determine if President Biden is compromised by his family’s business schemes and if there is a national security threat.”

Mr. Bergès has refused to provide any information to date about who is buying Hunter Biden’s art. In a letter Mr. Bergès’s attorney, Chairman Comer renews his request for Mr. Bergès to provide information and appear for a transcribed interview.

 

“Mr. Bergès has refused to provide any information regarding who is buying Mr. Biden’s art,” wrote Chairman Comer. “He has chosen to obstruct in an apparent effort to shield Mr. Biden and/or the purchasers’ of Mr. Biden’s art from congressional oversight. The Committee seeks information about the unidentified purchasers of Mr. Biden’s artwork and the non-public agreement with the White House concerning the same, among other items. This information will inform our legislation on matters that are within the jurisdiction of this Committee. For instance, the prices of the artwork—reportedly ranging between $75,000 and $500,000— even caused the Obama-era head of the Office of Government Ethics, Mr. Walter Shaub, to raise these ethics issues publicly. Mr. Shaub stated the White House has ‘basically outsourced government ethics to a private art dealer and they’re depending on unknown art purchasers to help keep the secret.’ The Committee shares these concerns.”

 

In February 2022, the Treasury Department studied the use of high-end art as a means to launder money along with other potential illicit financial transactions and issued a final report encouraging the creation of specific policies to enhance transparency. Instead of fostering transparency, Mr. Bergès and Hunter Biden struck an opaque arrangement, and he continues to mischaracterize the purpose of the Committee’s investigation.

 

“The facts belie any claim by Mr. Bergès that the Committee has no legitimate legislative purpose,” continued Chairman Comer. “The Committee is reviewing legislative solutions thataddress the ethics and money laundering issues raised by certain high-end art deals, and your information is critical to our investigation… Notwithstanding his tenuous legal arguments, Mr. Bergès mischaracterizes the purpose of our investigation and fails to acknowledge that the Committee’s requests are ‘related to, and in furtherance of, a legitimate task of the Congress.’Although your client has refused to produce anydocuments, the Committee will extend another opportunity for Mr. Bergès and the Georges Bergès Galleries LLC to adequately respond to our request.”

According to internal FDA communications, Dr. Marion Gruber, the former Director of the FDA’s Office of Vaccines Research and Review (OVRR), expressed concern about the Biden Administration wanting to cut corners to fast-track the vaccine approval, but was sidelined by political leadership.

 

“The Biden Administration’s political interference in the impartial vaccine approval process is a recurring theme. Last Congress, Select Subcommittee Republicans wrote to the FDA requesting information about potential political interference with the FDA’s booster shot approval process. In that letter, we inquired into President Biden’s announcement that booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine would be available to Americans starting September 20, 2021, prior to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or FDA concluding their independent reviews of the data. It's not the state's job, however, to fix that problem. That's a familial affair. Aside from real cases of real abuse and/or neglect, frankly, it's no one else's business. You can't fix society by punishing creators.

 

You can fix society by getting involved in its institutions, and providing a better path to help your community at the local level. Start an after-school program to help disadvantaged youth, or get involved in one that's already going on in your locale (I guarantee you there is one local to you). Sponsor a kid to play on a sports team. Take them to/from games. Be a friend or life coach to them.
