The TV anchor who brought down NBC Universal CEO Jeff Shell also had a romantic entanglement with a married Texas buyout tycoon who treated her to a luxurious, jet-setting lifestyle, The Post has learned.

Hadley Gamble — a CNBC correspondent who was revealed to be the woman who had an “inappropriate relationship” with Shell for more than a decade until 2019 — was also tied during the same period to David Bonderman, the billionaire chairman of private equity firm TPG, according to a whistleblower complaint reviewed by The Post.

Bonderman — the 80-year-old co-owner of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, with an estimated net worth of $6.6 billion, according to Forbes — has been renowned for his extravagant lifestyle, hiring bands like the Rolling Stones to play at his lavish parties.

According to an explosive whistleblower complaint filed by a former TPG executive in 2015, Bonderman counted Gamble among his “female companions” and treated her to frequent trips on the firm’s private jet.

“TPG’s founder, David Bonderman, is known within the company to have regular female companions on which he lavishes gifts or to whom he otherwise provides benefits,” former TPG executive Adam Levine alleged in his complaint filed with the SEC on March 2, 2015.

“Mr. Bonderman is rumored to pay most, if not all, of the living expenses for these women, and often brings them with him on business trips,” according to the complaint.

“Ms. Gamble, especially, is known to fly with him regularly on TPG’s planes.”

US Maritime Crisis: Uncovering The Ghost Admiral Steering The US Government’s Most Secretive Agency

by Captain John Konrad (OpEd) How can you help Cato dismantle the Jones Act and undermine American shipping? How can you subvert crucial US Navy shipbuilding subsidies? How can you obstruct $1.1 trillion of infrastructure bill funding from supporting ports and marine highways? How can you perpetuate the influx of Chinese goods arriving at US ports on Chinese vessels? Simply refuse to answer the phone.

When esteemed naval scholar Jerry Hendrix arrived at the US Maritime Administration (MARAD) headquarters in Washington to discuss his notable article for The Atlantic, he encountered locked doors and vigilant security guards. Likewise, when Forbes journalist Craig Hooper and I attempted to meet with Commandant Ann Phillips following her scarce appearance at a Navy conference, she was conspicuously absent. The Chief of Naval Operations, Commandant of the Marine Corps, and Commandant of the US Coast Guard remained to engage with the press, but Commandant Phillips – who some call the Ghost Admiral – seemingly vanished immediately after exiting the stage.

“I never got in to see her,” said Hendrix in a tweet. “I went to her office building and wasn’t allowed inside. I am still waiting for an appointment to get into the building. MARAD security is as tight as the Pentagon.”

Our response: don’t get your hopes up. Ann Phillips, the former US Navy Rear Admiral leading the nation’s most critical maritime organization and serving as Commandant of the US Maritime Service, is a ghost.

This is a crucial moment for shipping. The Jones Act faces fierce opposition. US ports struggle with insufficient funding. Shipyards are letting the Navy down. Wall Street funnels money into China’s shipping industry while American shipping languishes. European allies plead for LNG to address a dire energy crisis. US Merchant Ships confront threats and surveillance from Russian and Chinese warships. The UN asserts that world hunger hinges on maritime transportation.

MARAD has a pivotal responsibility in addressing these challenges, yet the ghost admiral remains conspicuously silent.

“MARAD employs more GS-15s and above than the number of US Merchant Marine ships in international service,” a former White House official revealed to gCaptain. “Many of them transition to lucrative positions in Jones Act lobby groups, earning hundreds of thousands per year.”

Global Energy Crisis Response

Phillips’ engagement has been even more limited. The few headlines she has made revolve around her evasive responses to Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s inquiries about LNG terminals during her confirmation hearings. Now, two and a half years into President Biden’s tenure, with the global demand for American LNG at a critical point, eight LNG terminal permits remain untouched on the Commandant’s desk.

Obtaining even basic information from MARAD can be a challenge. Official responses to simple inquiries often take weeks, and press releases are scarce (only four have been published this year).

“This is the most ineffective Commandant* we’ve ever encountered,” said a US shipping executive who asked to remain anonymous, fearing repercussions from Commandant Phillips. “She’s also the only MARAD Administrator in decades I haven’t had the privilege to meet in person.”

*Phillips holds the title of Commandant of the US Merchant Service, but MARAD tends to avoid using this term. They officially prefer “Administrator Phillips,” as the agency often opts for terminology that downplays their role.

Not only are LNG permits gathering dust, but other crucial matters also remain unaddressed. The US Navy urgently needs more ships, and it falls to MARAD – not the Navy – to provide subsidies for shipyards. However, MARAD hasn’t completed a shipyard survey, which Wall Street lenders need to evaluate loans, since 2004. The US Navy’s Military Sealift Command is in dire need of mariners, but MARAD has failed to complete a manpower survey since 2017. The US vessel inventory report, which used to be published monthly, has ceased to exist under Phillips’ tenure. Mariners depend on vital MARAD security updates to keep their ships safe, but Phillips’ organization delayed posting Black Sea updates for months following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine (MARAD has only issued one security alert all year). When the updates finally arrived, they lacked the essential information that captains require to ensure their vessels’ safety.

Data And Statistics Have Gone Missing

The unfortunate reality is that obtaining classified information from an Air Force intelligence officer seems easier than getting a crucial statistic confirmed by MARAD. This is not solely because MARAD officials are tight-lipped, but also because the organization has neglected to provide many of the basic statistics that journalists rely on. Even a few of the products that have previously earned praise for MARAD, such as Shashi Kumar’s US Naval Institute annual review of shipping, have been notably lacking in detail and uninspiring this year.

Despite ample funding, MARAD’s public affairs officer (PAO) position, a well-compensated GS-15 level role with a six-year salary, has often been left vacant or filled by short-term appointees. After Admiral Buzby’s departure, MARAD recruited a highly-regarded US Air Force PAO, who stayed for less than a year. Sources within MARAD told gCaptain that she left due to frustration. A senior MARAD official revealed to gCaptain that every media release requires Phillips’ approval, and Phillips hesitates to release information without Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s personal endorsement. Buttigieg has shown little interest in maritime affairs. Although he is an active presence on social media with daily tweets to millions of followers, gCaptain has been unable to find a single tweet mentioning Phillips during his entire tenure.

San Francisco drops case against transient who bashed ex-fire commish with crowbar, says it was ‘self-defense’

San Francisco prosecutors have decided not to charge the transient accused of repeatedly bashing the city’s former fire commissioner in the skull with a crowbar —even after obtaining video of the man taking practice swings moments before the attack.

The District Attorney’s Office dropped the case against Don Carmignani’s alleged assailant Garrett Doty after deciding the homeless man was acting in “self-defense,”sources close to Carmignani told The Post Tuesday night.

Prosecutors heeded Doty’s arguments and ruled that the attack was not senseless — they said Carmignani instead instigated the vicious assault after deploying pepper spray on the homeless man who lived outside his mother’s property in the city’s affluent Marina District.

“We live in a city where both the Mayor and the DA are elected. Their re-election is very much tied to public perception of crime and safety. Therefore, they have a vested interest in changing the narrative to make it appear that crime is not random,” the source said.

“The city should stop politicizing public safety and instead focus on doing their job of making San Francisco a safe and livable City for everyone,” they added.

Disturbing video shared with The Post shows a man believed to be Doty yank the metal rod out of a trash can and practice swinging in front of Carmignani’s mother’s home, where he and two other transients were blocking the driveway.

Upsetting footage taken by a bystander shows Doty backing a heavily bleeding Carmignani against the wall of a gas station store while widely waving the crowbar.

Carmignani tries to hold his fists up in self-defense but is forced to wipe the streaming blood from his eyes before Doty strikes him in the head with a resounding clang.

The dazed 53-year-old retreats toward the roadway before he is bashed in the head again and later chased down the sidewalk by his assailant.

Carmignani, who sustained a puncture wound to the back of the skull, was rushed into emergency surgery and spent several days in the ICU.

Doty was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with serious bodily injury and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, but was released back to the city streets with impunity after prosecutors pointed to Carmignani as the aggressor.

The retired firefighter could even face charges for deploying pepper spray on the men in an attempt to boot them from his mother’s property.

The source told The Post Tuesday thatthe San Francisco police department and District Attorney’s Office failed to interview Carmignani about his version of events before dropping the case.

In the eight child-porn cases that came before her court, former D.C. District Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson heard horrifying details of “sadomasochistic” torture of young kids — including “infants and toddlers” — yet challenged the disturbing evidence presented by prosecutors and disregarded their prison recommendations to give the lightest possible punishments in each case, according to transcripts of sentencing hearings obtained by the Post.

In some cases, she even apologized to some of the kiddie-porn perverts for having to follow the statutes, which she called “substantially flawed.”

Over and over, the records reveal, Jackson made excuses for the sex fiends’ criminal behavior and cut them slack in defiance of investigators and prosecutors — and sometimes even probation officers serving her court — who argued for tougher sentences because the cases were particularly egregious or the defendants weren’t remorseful.

The fuller record of her orders as a trial judge, detailed here for the first time, undercuts the White House’s and Senate Democrats’ argument that her sentences were within the “normal range” or “mainstream” of child porn cases, as they try to defend the Supreme Court nod against growing allegations she is soft on crime.

Jackson, 51, who tried the cases as an Obama appointee from 2013 to 2021, was nominated earlier this year by President Biden, who pledged during the campaign to put the first “black woman” on the high bench. The Senate will vote on her confirmation next week.

In July 2020, Jackson gave the bare minimum sentence to a defendant convicted of distributing images and videos of infants being sexually abused, and who had boasted of molesting his 13-year-old cousin, even though she knew the defendant refused “to take full responsibility” for his crimes, a transcript reveals. In 2018, Christopher Michael Downs was busted trading child porn in a private online chat room, “Pedos Only,” including images of adult males raping “a prepubescent female child,” according to court records. He posted 33 graphic photos, including an image of a naked female child as young as 2 years old. Downs, then 30, told the group, “I once fooled around with my 13-year-old cousin.” He also uploaded a 10-second video of “a prepubescent female lying in a bathtub and with an adult male inserting his penis into her mouth.”

Jackson herself admitted that the felon was at “risk of reoffending,” the transcript further reveals. But she declined to enhance his prison time based on the amount of porn he distributed, arguing such enhancements were “outdated” and “substantially flawed.” She acknowledged the average sentence nationally “for similarly situated defendants” was 81 months, but she gave him the statutory mandatory-minimum sentence of 60 months, which was short of the nearly six years prosecutors asked for. In addition, Jackson gave him credit for time served starting from when he was first incarcerated in October 2018, so technically she gave him only 38 months, or a little over three years, in the pen. Downs is scheduled for release in December.

In her April 2021 sentencing of child porn distributor Ryan Manning Cooper, Jackson contradicted the findings of prosecutors, dismissing the crimes they described as “on the more egregious or extreme spectrum” of child porn as not “especially egregious.” Among the more than 600 images prosecutors told the judge he traded were sexually explicit pics depicting bondage of infants and toddlers. Prosecutors also busted him with a video of a “pre-pubescent boy being penetrated anally and orally” by an older male.

“I’m really reluctant to get into the nature of the porn,” Jackson told the court before sentencing Cooper to prison time short of what the prosecution recommended.

“I don’t find persuasive the government’s arguments concerning why they think that this is a particularly egregious child pornography offense, which means I struggled to find a good reason to impose a sentence that is more severe in this case,” she argued.

Jackson cited “mitigating factors,” including letters family members sent to her describing Cooper as “kind, hard-working, dependable, loving. I have no reason to doubt those representations.” Striking a sympathetic tone, she advised the defendant: “There are going to be a lot of restrictions that the law places on you because you are a convicted sex offender, and you’re going to need the support of these people during this next phase of your life.”

Judge Jackson gave Wesley Keith Hawkins essentially a slap on the wrist.

In his and other cases, Jackson cited criticism of federal sentencing guidelines for child porn being “outdated” and “too severe” to justify her downward variances in prison time, arguing such “policy disagreement with the guidelines” has led her to develop “my own analysis of child pornography offenses.” However, experts point out that her objections are a circular argument, because the criticism she cited to back her rulings is the same criticism she herself wrote years earlier as President Obama’s vice chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission.

“She served as the tip of the spear in weakening federal sentencing policy for child pornographers as vice chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, where she ignored the advice of expert witnesses who disputed her theory that child pornographers are somehow not pedophiles,” said Mike Davis, president of the Article III Project, a Washington advocacy group for constitutional judges and the rule of law.

Jackson complained that current sentencing schemes don’t accurately measure the severity of child porn offenses, because computers, the Internet and digital cameras make it “so easy” to collect, store and distribute illegal porn today.

But prosecutors don’t buy it. They say the amount of computer files stored and/or traded is still an aggravating factor that should be considered in sentencing. They say the perps are not passive actors, merely receiving files haphazardly, in spite of the easier means of collecting such filth digitally. In the cases Jackson heard, prosecutors said the defendants were caught actively soliciting child porn, storing it, and sharing it, typically in chatrooms frequented by pedophiles, or posting it on Tumblr and YouTube.

Prosecutors as well as some defense attorneys also argue non-production of child porn is hardly a victimless crime. By collecting and distributing such porn on the Internet, they say defendants are re-victimizing children who were forced to commit unspeakable acts of sexual violence for their viewing pleasure, while creating demand for future sexual exploitation of children.

Jackson complained that current sentencing schemes don’t accurately measure the severity of child porn offenses.

In her 2013 sentencing of Wesley Keith Hawkins, who was busted posting videos on YouTube of boys as young as 11 being raped by men, Jackson gave the young gay black man essentially a slap on the wrist — and then apologized to him for it. Instead of the two years of prison prosecutors asked for, she gave him just three months and sent him to a lower-security facility and even arranged special protections for his safety normally afforded cops sent to prison.

“I am not persuaded that two years in prison is necessary,” she ruled, arguing that such a sentence does not account for mitigating factors, including “Mr. Hawkin’s … future potential.” (Further explaining her decision, she disputed the severity of the evidence investigators presented and suggested the more than 600 images they caught him with “don’t signal an especially heinous or egregious child pornography offense.”)

“This is a truly difficult situation,” she told Hawkins, according to page 46 of the transcript. “I appreciate that your family is in the audience. I feel so sorry for them and for you and for the anguish that this has caused all of you.”

Sex offender Brian Dennis Hess also faced Judge Jackson.

Jackson then expressed sorrow over even the light sentence she handed down. “I also feel terrible about the collateral consequences of this conviction,” she said, explaining that “sex offenders are truly shunned in our society, but I have no control over the collateral consequences.”

She offered that “youth and inexperience may have clouded your judgment” and dismissed concerns he was a risk to reoffend. “There’s no reason to believe you are a pedophile or that you pose any risk to children,” Jackson opined. “So It’s not necessary to incapacitate you in order to protect the public.”

Only, Hawkins proved her wrong in 2019 when his probation officer busted him continuing his child porn obsession. Jackson had to step in and essentially resentence him, this time to six months in a “residential reentry center,” according to her court filing. Asked about Hawkins’ relapse at her Senate hearing, she testified she could not recall the matter. But transcripts show that in her May 2021 sentencing of Adam Chazin, who was busted with 48 files of child porn including images of toddlers, she said “I remember Mr. Hawkin’s case well, even though it was many years ago.” Jackson cited her leniency toward Hawkins while giving Chazin just 28 months in prison (versus the 78 months prosecutors demanded).

A more serious example of recidivism involved another case Jackson heard with a compassionate ear. In 2015, Neil Alexander Stewart, 31, was caught with hundreds of child sex images and videos. He confided to an undercover officer posing as a fellow child predator that he was interested in “willing” children between the ages “5-11” and sought to meet at the D.C. zoo with the agent’s fictional 9-year-old daughter.

In one text cited by prosecutors, Stewart advised the undercover officer how to groom a child to have sexual intercourse, which they could later videotape: “The trick is starting with really small toys and gradually moving up until something is the same size. And vibration.”

Lucas William Cane was arrested in 2018.

In her 2017 sentencing, Jackson gave Stewart 57 months in jail — well short of the 97 months prosecutors had asked for. The judge set aside prosecutors’ warnings that Stewart was a risk for “hands-on” sexual abuse of children and posed a “continuing” threat to the community. At her Senate confirmation hearing, Jackson was asked if she was aware that Stewart had allegedly reoffended.

“Would it surprise you to learn that Mr. Stewart is a recidivist?” asked Sen. Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican. “He [has] warrants issued again for his arrest, just three years after your sentencing.”

Shrugged Jackson: “You know, Senator, there is data in the Sentencing Commission and elsewhere that indicates that there are serious recidivism issues. And so among the various people that I’ve sentenced, I’m not surprised that there are people who reoffend, and it is a terrible thing that happens in our system.”

Mike Davis, who previously served as chief counsel for nominations to former Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), said Jackson is an “activist judge” with extremist views.

“She’s clearly not a mainstream judge. After she heard details of sex torture of young kids, including babies, she nonetheless disregarded the official sentencing guidelines and prosecutors’ recommendations to give rock-bottom sentences in eight of eight cases,” he said, adding that she seems “more concerned about the well-being of pedophiles than the safety of your children — and thanks to her, they may be living in your neighborhood right now.”

Singapore executes man for coordinating cannabis delivery

HONG KONG (AP) — Singapore on Wednesday executed a man accused of coordinating a cannabis delivery, despite pleas for clemency from his family and protests from activists that he was convicted on weak evidence.

Tangaraju Suppiah, 46, was sentenced to death in 2018 for abetting the trafficking of 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of cannabis. Under Singapore laws, trafficking more than 500 grams of cannabis may result in the death penalty.

Tangaraju was hanged Wednesday morning and his family was given the death certificate, according to a tweet from activist Kirsten Han of the Transformative Justice Collective, which advocates for abolishing the death penalty in Singapore.

Although Tangaraju was not caught with the cannabis, prosecutors said phone numbers traced him as the person responsible for coordinating the delivery of the drugs. Tangaraju had maintained that he was not the one communicating with the others connected to the case.

At a United Nations Human Rights briefing Tuesday, spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani called on the Singapore government to adopt a “formal moratorium” on executions for drug-related offenses.

“Imposing the death penalty for drug offences is incompatible with international norms and standards,” said Shamdasani, who added that increasing evidence shows the death penalty is ineffective as a deterrent.

Nebraska becomes 27th state to pass constitutional carry

The law allows law-abiding Nebraskans who are 21 and up to be able to carry a concealed handgun without a permit

Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen signed constitutional carry into law on Tuesday, making it the 27th state to add to the constitutional carry majority.

“Signing this bill upholds the promise I made to voters to protect our constitutional rights and promote commonsense, conservative values,” said Gov. Pillen in a press release. “I appreciate the hard work of those senators who supported this legislation, and particularly that of Sen. Brewer who led this charge and carried it through to the end.”

The law allows law-abiding Nebraskans who are 21 and up to be able to carry a concealed handgun without a permit.

It will go into effect 90 days after the end of the legislative session, which is scheduled for June 9.

The bill is backed by the NRA.

"Today, Nebraska joined 26 other states whose constituents and leaders recognize that law-abiding Americans should not have to ask for special government permission and pay additional fees in order to exercise their rights outside of the home," Randy Kozuch, executive director of the NRA's legislative lobby arm told Fox News in a statement.

Who announces a presidential campaign at dawn?

Joe Biden’s early-morning video was as vacuous as his 2020 basement campaign — and no doubt the one he plans for 2024.

The endless quick cuts and zippy soundtrack made it look like an appeal to the TikTok generation, except the narrator at 80 could barely get his words out (and how many takes did even that require?).

And that was when he wasn’t doing hisweird “near-whisper to show I really mean it”schtick.

Specifics? We’ll get to the outright lies, but generally it was a vagueness about “freedom” and “rights.” In 2020, Donald Trump was the direct threat;now it is a horde of “MAGA extremists” who’re endangering the nation’s very soul that only SuperJoe can save.

From his bunker? Or from the vacations where he’s spent a quarter of his presidency?

Without naming a single achievement (which would, after all, be tough),he ends by vowing to “finish the job.”

But what job? =Ruining the country completely==?

He’s already set record lows for facing the press, because his aides (rightly!) fear he’ll say something disastrous if allowed to go off-script.

His constant gaffes, garbled speech, mistruths, and ever-fading link with realityhave only confirmed that he’s not fit to be the leader of the free world.

He bizarrely, falsely claims to know what it’s like to have had “a house burn down with my wife in it” and to have been arrested as a civil-rights activist.

He was raised in practically every racial or ethnic community there is.

His bigger lies are worse: His botched Afghanistan pullout was an unprecedented “success.”

Inflation would be temporary.

The crisis at the border was merely seasonal.

Biden lies to himself, too: He actually thinks he’s done a great job and the nation needs him to save it from Donald Trump — though Trump is likely the only GOP foe he can beat.

He’ll never admit his age disqualifies him.

And his handlers won’t, either, because they’re happily wielding the real power.

Americans see the problem: Some 70% of them, including more than half of Democrats, don’t want him to run per last month’s Yahoo News/YouGov poll (and matching every other poll).

In February, an AP-NORC poll found just 12% of Democrats thought Biden should be the party’s leader.

And 59% called him “too old to work in government,” per Reuters/Ipsos.

Yet this seemingly senile, ethically challenged octogenarian with a disastrous record and a horrific 54% disapproval ratingis likely the best Dems can field.

As Rich Lowry notes, Biden’s general fecklessness makes him seem unthreatening — and thus excellent cover for his administration’s insanely left-wing policies.

So the party’s clearing the way for him, rearranging the primaries to avoid a dangerous surprise in Iowa or New Hampshire and so far not even scheduling any Democratic debates.

Yes, he’s so weak that mystic Marianne Williamson or crank RFK Jr. could show him up.
