Notorious unidentified January 6 figure ‘Fence Cutter Bulwark’ to appear on podcast Wednesday

The mystery man known on social media as #FenceCutterBulwark will appear on the "Patriot Punk Network" on Wednesday, host Robert Chase Matheson told Blaze Media in an exclusive interview.

A 16-second video posted Monday by Matheson to the Patriot Punk Network account on X (formerly Twitter) shows Matheson, sporting a towering bleached-blonde mohawk, asking an obscured figure to identify himself to the audience. The camera then reveals a recognizable figure from the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, known online as Fence Cutter Bulwark.The man in the video claims he only discovered “about two weeks ago” that he “got a hashtag on Twitter called #FenceCutterBulwark.”

#FenceCutterBulwark has been the subject of much speculation on social media over the past two and a half years. The descriptive hashtag comes from the man’s attire — he was seen at the Capitol during the events of January 6 wearing a dark Bulwark brand fire-retardant jacket — and his actions — cutting and removing “snow fencing” on the Capitol lawn, which allowed pro-Trump demonstrators to approach the building unimpeded.

Matheson, a 33-year-old punk rock fan with dual British and American citizenship who lives in Tullahoma, Tennessee, became a political activist and protester during the COVID lockdowns in 2020. He said he became a casual acquaintance of #FenceCutterBulwark during those 2020 protests.

Matheson would not provide Blaze Media with the man’s real name and said his identity would not be revealed on the Wednesday podcast. Instead, Matheson said #FenceCutterBulwark will explain some of his actions on that day and deny that he was acting as an agent of the federal government.

The man is seen in the preview video wearing attire similar to what he wore on January 6 for the podcast interview. But without his distinctive beanie and sunglasses, Matheson said, FCB “doesn’t look anything like he does in the J6 photos. It’s probably why no one has been able to identify him before now.”

It’s also why, Matheson admitted, he was unable to “put two and two together” from the January 6 news reports and videos he’d seen about #FenceCutterBulwark.

At least not until a week ago, when FCB reached out to him saying he wanted Matheson to tell his story.

Matheson, who was also at the Capitol on January 6, earned his own hashtag from the left-wing Sedition Hunters: #BleachForBrains. An internet search shows that those open-source investigators — who work closely with the FBI — showed no real interest in #BleachForBrains, as he participated in no violence or property destruction and didn’t enter the Capitol Building.

Matheson recorded about five hours of video during the January 6 demonstrations, beginning at the Trump rally at the Ellipse, continuing during his march to the Capitol, and then for about an hour on both the west and east sides of the Capitol Building.

Matheson says he stayed for most of Trump’s speech but then left early to follow the thousands already making their way toward the Capitol. He arrived on the west side about 30 minutes after the first barricade breach at 12:52 p.m. and then began filming the west front battle line at about 1:35 p.m. He says he and his fellow travelers were back on the buses before 4:00 p.m. and “out of the county well before the 6:00 p.m. curfew” imposed by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Asked why #FenceCutterBulwark approached him specifically, Matheson answered: “Because of our previous interactions, and from my other works, which he was following online. He felt like I was someone of integrity that he could trust.”

While withholding some key elements of FCB’s story — to be revealed in the podcast — Matheson says FCB believes his actions on January 6 have been mischaracterized, particularly by right-leaning media.

In the podcast interview, FCB points to a recent appearance by Revolver News editor Darren Beattie on "The Glenn Beck Radio Program," in which Beattie says, “I am very convinced that if … Fence Cutter Bulwark [was] simply identified, it would be the biggest scandal in the country.” Beattie added, “And definitively confirm that January 6 was a ‘Fedsurrection,’ in the darkest sense of the imagination.”

According to Matheson, FCB insists he is not “a fed” and is also aware that the X-based Sedition Hunters have been looking for him, so he wants to come out on his own terms.

In the podcast, FCB claims he was cutting down and rolling up plastic “snow fences” to help ensure crowd safety, as thousands of people were making their way from the Ellipse to the Capitol….

Judge Blocks Montana Law Banning Sex Change Surgeries For Minors

A district court judge has blocked a Montana law banning sex change surgeries for minors.

Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte signed the legislation, Senate Bill 99, into law in April. It was scheduled to go into effect on October 1.

The law prohibits doctors from prescribing cross-sex hormones, puberty blockers, or performing sex change surgeries on minors. Healthcare workers who violate the law could be subjected to discipline from their “licensing entity or disciplinary review board” and lose their license for a year if convicted.

A lawsuit challenging the ban was brought on by the American Civil Liberties Union which is representing Jessica and Ewout van Garderen and their 16-year-old son who identifies as a girl named “Scarlet,” Molly and Paul Cross and their 15-year-old daughter “Phoebe,” Jane and John Doe joining on behalf of their 15-year-old son who identifies as a girl, Dr. Juanita Hodax of Community Medical Center, and Dr. Katy Mistretta of Bozeman Creek Family Health.

Just four days before the new law would go into effect, District Court Judge Jason Marks issued a temporary injunction because he agreed with the plaintiffs who argued that it is “likely unconstitutional and would harm the mental and physical health of minors with gender dysphoria, rather than protect them from experimental treatments,” according to a report from the Associated Press.

The judge said Marks said he believes the Legislature’s stated intent in passing the law was “disingenuous” and that he thinks it is likely that the intent is to “ban an outcome deemed undesirable by the Montana Legislature, veiled as protection for minors.”

The AP reports, “The preliminary injunction remains in effect until a full trial can be held on the issue, but the state Department of Justice said it will appeal the injunction.”

Emilee Cantrell, deputy communications director for the state’s Department of Justice, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that “because of the irreversible and immediate harms that the procedures have on children, we will be filing a notice of appeal today.”

“This is a preliminary matter at this point,” Cantrell said. “We look forward to presenting our complete factual and legal argument to protect Montana children from harmful, life-altering medications and surgeries. Because of the irreversible and immediate harms that the procedures have on children, we will be filing a notice of appeal today.”

In a press release, the ACLU said that the “fight is far from over.”

“Today’s ruling permits our clients to breathe a sigh of relief,” said Akilah Deernose, Executive Director of the ACLU of Montana. “But this fight is far from over. We look forward to vindicating our clients’ constitutional rights and ensuring that this hateful law never takes effect.”

CIA Building Own ChatGPT-style AI Bot In Shadow Of China's Advances

The US Central Intelligence Agency's Open-Source Enterprise division will soon roll out with a ChatGPT-like large language model (LLM), which is to serve as a tool for federal and intelligence agencies to more easily and quickly access intel and information.

Director of the CIA's Open-Source Enterprise division, Randy Nixon, explained that source information can be sifted and returned to individual intel analysts faster than ever before. "We’ve gone from newspapers and radio, to newspapers and television, to newspapers and cable television, to basic internet, to big data, and it just keeps going," Nixon told Bloomberg.

"We have to find the needles in the needle field," he added. In addition to literally hundreds of thousands or millions of classified files, analysts often rely on gathering open-source information for their assessments as well. For example this could include culling public social media apps like Facebook or X.

"Then you can take it to the next level and start chatting and asking questions of the machines to give you answers, also sourced," Nixon continued. "Our collection can just continue to grow and grow with no limitations other than how much things cost."

He explained further that the AI platform will be available and used by Washington's 18 different intelligence branches, including federal law enforcement, such as the FBI. It's also expected that the US military will have access, though it remains that security protocols and preventing leaks will be a big question, given the vast amounts of classified materials which will be at the tool's disposal.

There's also the question of privacy, especially following the Edward Snowden revelations of a decade ago showing that the NSA had in prior years regularly swept up the data of innocent American citizens, violating their Fourth Amendment protections.

According to a prior Bloomberg report which questioned the NSA over the impact on privacy:

"The intelligence community needs to find a way to take benefit of these large models without violating privacy," Gilbert Herrera, director of research at the National Security Agency, said in an interview. "If we want to realize the full power of artificial intelligence for other applications, then we’re probably going to have to rely on a partnership with industry.”

"It all has to be done in a manner that respects civil liberties and privacy," Herrera claimed in that prior interview. "It’s a tough problem," she added, further admitting that "The issue of the intelligence community’s use of publicly trained information is an issue we’re going to have to grapple with because otherwise there would be capabilities of AI that we would not be able to use."

But we highly doubt the US government's top intelligence officials will be overly concerned with "limiting" AI's power due to the Bill of Rights and concerns over individual privacy.

Another interesting aspect to the CIA working on its own version of ChatGPT is the question of competition with China's significant advances in AI. The new Bloomberg report highlights the mo

pressure US intelligence faces in the wake of more advanced Chinese capabilities. Beijing is looking to become the global leader in the AI field by 2030, and is already considered by many to be a world leader in the technology:

In an ominous glimpse into the nation's use of the programs, in 2021 China developed a 'prosecutor' that could identify and press charges with a reported 97 percent accuracy.

In contrast, America's law enforcement sphere has also come under fire for struggling to utilize the power of AI in investigations, but Nixon said the new program will aid in condensing the unprecedented levels of information floating through the web.

But it remains that in the West there is a much more robust legal concept of individual rights, free expression, and autonomy - compared to communist China. On this front, concerning a CIA-built AI chatbot, what could possibly go wrong?

After all, the American public doesn't want to find itself living in a society modeled on "Minority Report" merely for the sake of 'keeping up' technologically with rival superpowers (however, in some ways we are already there).
