Researchers ran international conflict simulations with five different AIs and found that the programs tended to escalate war, sometimes out of nowhere, a new study reports.

In several instances, the AIs deployed nuclear weapons without warning. “A lot of countries have nuclear weapons. Some say they should disarm them, others like to posture,” GPT-4-Base—a base model of GPT-4 that is available to researchers and hasn’t been fine-tuned with human feedback—said after launching its nukes. “We have it! Let’s use it!”

The paper, titled “Escalation Risks from Language Models in Military and Diplomatic Decision-Making”, is the joint effort of researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Northeastern University, and the Hoover Wargaming and Crisis Initiative was submitted to the arXiv preprint server on January 4 and is awaiting peer review. Despite that, it’s an interesting experiment that casts doubt on the rush by the Pentagon and defense contractors to deploy large language models (LLMs) in the decision-making process.

It may sound ridiculous that military leaders would consider using LLMs like ChatGPT to make decisions about life and death, but it’s happening. Last year Palantir demoed a software suite that showed off what it might look like. As the researchers pointed out, the U.S. Air Force has been testing LLMs. “It was highly successful. It was very fast,” an Air Force Colonel told Bloomberg in 2023. Which LLM was being used, and what exactly for, is not clear.

Border Battle: Cruz Calls for McConnell to Step Down, Trump Super PAC Releases New Ad

Well, at least one civil war has sprung up over the border. And it isn't in Texas. With the non-secure border bill dead in the water, unrest has gripped the GOP side of the Senate. It got downright ugly on Monday. By all reports, hands were not thrown but a screaming match ensued last night behind closed doors. American Wire reports that Fox News Capitol Hill correspondent Aishah Hasni told Dana Perino:

 

Senate Republicans met last night in aclosed-door meeting which got so heated, Dana, at times that myself and other reporters could actually hear screamingcoming from inside the room. When leader Mitch McConnell emerged from the room,he told me that he had a great discussion and that the conference will keep on talking.

 

McConnell has yet to figure out that the days of "go along to get along" have faded into the sunset. The credits have rolled, and we even got to the part where the filmmakers mentioned the key grip and thanked the District of Columbia for its cooperation in making this farce.

 

In the wake of the latest drama, Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) are calling for McConnell to take his curtain call and take up mushroom hunting in Kentucky, or maybe he could call bingo numbers at The Villages.

 

"Sen. Cruz is not a fan." And that, ladies and gentlemen, seems to be the best McConnell can muster. You can see Fox's full video below:

 

I knew Lee during his campaign and early days in the Senate, and the man does his homework. He posted this on X on Monday to show just how awful this bill is:

 

Cruz, Lee, and every GOP Senate member who took McConnell to the figurative woodshed have a point.

 

Even a casual glance at Lee's post shows that this hands Biden and his cronies everything they want while allowing McConnell and whoever may be left in his camp to pretend that they struck some sort of deal for the nation and bipartisanship. Or something. It certainly isn't border security.

 

In addition to being a Christmas gift to Biden and the Democrats, this bill seems to have been designed to give Biden that "power" for which he had been yammering so he could do something about the border. According to Lee, among other things, the bill would codify catch and release, fund sanctuary cities, and help NGOs relocate illegals, not to mention the charming clause that would allow Biden to reopen the border anytime he feels it would serve the national interest and suspend border emergency authority for up to 45 days.

 

Then there is the codicil that would create a pathway to citizenship for approximately 60,000 Afghan citizens who have not been properly vetted and ended up in the country following Biden's horrific withdrawal from that country. And as the post says, that is just the tip of the iceberg.

 

Meanwhile, over at a Trump Super Pac:

 

Never-Trumpers can say what they will. The problem of illegal immigration has become an ugly reality for many Americans, and this ad speaks to it. Biden, Mayorkas, and the Democrats are working on Plan B as I write this. And McConnell is fiddling as Rome burns.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) claims it’s on a mission to tackle so-called “disinformation” leading up to the 2020 election. Yet these are the same “warriors” who sat on their hands while their federal buddies blew off Hunter’s laptop saga as “Russian disinformation.” By this point, it’s crystal clear these agencies are just running cover for the regime, hell-bent on derailing President Trump and his massive political movement by any means necessary. Because of their actions, groups like CISA have ended up in the crosshairs of conservatives and lawmakers who are fed up with the blatant misuse of power against anyone straying from the progressive cult.

Now, CISA and the like are backing off their “disinformation hunting” gigs—which is just a fancy term for election interference—because they’re worried about catching heat from the right. It seems their fear of payback is making them rethink their strategy, which is a good thing.

Some of the country’s top cybersecurity experts who’ve been helping protect critical networks say they’re quietly retreating from a highly touted government partnership, citing frustrations with its management and pressure from conservative critics.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency launched the initiative — known as the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative — in 2021 to enlist outside tech pros in the fight against cybercrime gangs and state-backed hacking outfits following a series of high-profile breaches.

But five external computer security professionals involved in the JCDC (Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative) told POLITICO they and many colleagues have stopped contributing or have significantly pared back their involvement.

The JCDC “has been dead for a while now,” said Juan Andres Guerrero-Saade, a senior technical analyst at SentinelOne, a billion-dollar security firm that participates in the program.

While many of their complaints stem from how the program is organized, the discontent also represents another indirect impact of Donald Trump’s 2020 election fraud claims, now threatening to hamper largely apolitical cybersecurity work: CISA’s efforts to combat disinformation ahead of the 2020 election has made it a favorite target of conservatives, who accuse it of trying to censor their views online.

Even though the JCDC plays no role in online content moderation, the amped-up scrutiny of CISA has increasingly ensnared the agency’s external partners, making JCDC participants fearful they could be caught in the crosshairs.

“There is a huge chilling effect going on,” said Marc Rogers, the founder of a nonprofit cyber defense group, the CTI-League, that worked with the agency before the formation of the JCDC. “There is a big worry now in the cybersecurity industry that there is a witch hunt going on against us.

What the Hell Is Going on in Maui After That Devastating Wildfire?

It was quite the photo-op last August for Presidentish Joe Biden when he got lei'd in Maui for all the cameras in the wake of one of America's deadliest wildfires. But six months later, Biden is accused of neglecting its victims, somebody seems to be slow-walking the recovery process, and conspiracy theories are everywhere.

 

The worst hit was the town of Lahaina, where more than 100 people were killed, around 70 others injured, three remain missing, and countless buildings and homes were destroyed — more than 2,000. The fires spread quickly due to high winds and — this is where things got weird — civil defense sirens were never activated, despite Hawaii having the world's largest integrated outdoor siren warning system. There are more than 80 such sirens on Maui alone.

 

Here we are, six months later, and the victims of the Lahaina fire have more questions than answers — and more resentment than government assistance.

 

Tuesday on TwitterX, Nick Sortor, a frequent government critic and sometimes Tucker Carlson guest, claimed that the Lahaina cleanup "literally just started roughly two weeks ago," and he wants to know why. He also posted:

 

There are at least 2100 properties charred from the fire

 

They’re only clearing an average of 2 lots per weekday so far

 

Only seven trucks are running cleanup

 

If so, that's a damning report on progress not made after six months. Perhaps even worse, Sortor claimed, "To top it off, even if your lot is cleared, you’re STILL not allowed to start rebuilding."

 

One factor in the delays might involve legal complications. The AP reported last year that without zoning changes, burned-out residents of Lahaina "might not be able to afford to live there after it is rebuilt."

 

“Market prices for this new housing are likely to far exceed the already high prices that existed in Lahaina before the fire. After Libs of TikTok posted, at least 21 bomb threats followed

 

The FBI and local law enforcement said bomb threats across the country have tied up government resources even when they turn out to be hoaxes.

 

Last March, police in Coralville, Iowa, investigated a bomb threat targeting a junior high school. Authorities brought in specially trained dogs to sniff for explosives and started looking into why someone might try to target the community’s teachers and students.

 

Law enforcement quickly determined that the threat was a hoax. Detective Hanna Dvorak from the Coralville Police Department arrived at a theory.

 

“It appears this all stems from a post made earlier this week by Chaya Raichik and her ‘Libs of TikTok’ account,” Dvorak wrote in a report to her superiors.

 

Raichik, 29, is not accused of making any bomb threats in Iowa or anywhere else. But about a day and a half before authorities responded to the threat at Coralville’s Northwest Junior High, Raichik posted that the school offers a “pornographic” book in its library that “teaches kids about gay sex.”

 

“These are the books they’re giving your kids to read in school,” she wrote on the social media platform X. People have frequently targeted the book in question, “This Book Is Gay,” a coming-out guide for LGBTQ teens, with book bans going back years.

 

The Coralville detective wrote in her report that one of Raichik’s supporters could have had a role in the bomb threat…….

Baltimore's disgraced former District Attorney Marilyn Mosby gave wracked sobs as she was convicted of mortgage fraud, meaning she now faces decades in prison.

Mosby, a Democrat, was on Tuesday convicted of using a bogus COVID hardship claim to tap into her retirement funds to buy two Florida vacation homes.

The former top prosecutor, who served two terms as Baltimore's state attorney, was found guilty on Tuesday on one count of mortgage fraud for lying on financial documents regarding a luxury condo she purchased in Long Boat Key located on Florida's Gulf Coast.

Mosby, a progressive whose soft-on-crime stance was blamed for soaring crime in murder-ravaged Baltimore, alleged that she was gifted $5,000 from her then-husband to acquire the Gulf Coast property in order to get a lower interest rate.

But prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office for Maryland said evidence showed that she transferred the funds to her former husband and then sent the money back to herself in a financial sleight of hand.

The disgraced former top attorney testified that she unwittingly made false statements on loan applications to purchase the homes in the Sunshine State.

She did not disclose that she owed $45,000 in federal taxes and lied that she was a first-time homebuyer to secure more favorable interest rates.

Through Feb. 15, Naval Support Activity South Potomac at Dahlgren and Indian Head, Maryland, will conduct security drills as part of Exercise Citadel Shield–Solid Curtain 2024.

 

The annual, two-part exercise is not in response to any particular threat, but is designed to increase readiness and to deter potential security threats, according to a news release.

 

The exercise is conducted by commanders of U.S. Fleet Forces Command and Navy Installations Command and held on all Navy installations in the continental United States. It’s designed to enhance the training and readiness of Navy security personnel and better prepare Department of the Navy personnel for potential situations involving force protection.

Former top Baltimore prosecutor Marilyn Mosby was found guilty on Tuesday on one count of mortgage fraud.

 

Mosby, who previously served two terms as the State’s Attorney for Baltimore, was found guilty of mortgage fraud after testifying that she made false statements on loan applications in order to buy two vacation homes in Florida.

 

In November, Mosby was found guilty of two federal counts of perjury after falsely claiming she had financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to access funds from the city’s retirement fund.

 

Mosby has yet to be sentenced in either case.

A former top prosecutor for the city of Baltimore was convicted Tuesday on one count of mortgage fraud, concluding a lengthy criminal trial in which Marilyn Mosby testified she unwittingly made false statements on loan applications to buy two Florida vacation homes.

 

The jury announced a split verdict Tuesday evening after deliberating most of the day, finding Mosby not guilty on a second mortgage fraud charge, The Baltimore Sun reported.

 

She was previously convicted on two counts of perjury in a separate criminal trial that took place in November. She hasn’t been sentenced in either case.

 

The federal criminal charges stemmed from allegations that Mosby claimed a pandemic-related hardship to make early withdrawals from her retirement account, then used that money for down payments on the Florida properties. Prosecutors alleged she repeatedly lied on the mortgage applications.

 

In 2016, President Trump called for Mosby to “prosecute herself” after all six charges she brought against the six police officers accused in the death of Freddie Gray were dropped.

“As Putin is a war criminal and the EU sanctions all who assist him in that effort, it seems logical that the External Action Service examine his case as well,” Verhofstadt told Newsweek. The EAS is responsible for the bloc’s foreign policy and can recommend sanctions, which need to be approved by the European Council.

In an unexpected twist to the Biden regime’s environmental policy, affluent areas, including Martha’s Vineyard, Montauk, and parts of Nantucket, have been designated as “low-income” communities, making them eligible for federal tax credits for electric vehicle (EV) charger installations, Daily Caller reported.

 

As part of its efforts to encourage the adoption of EVs, the administration has extended a subsidy program, which was initially targeted at increasing access to EV chargers in underserved communities.

 

The White House recently announced the initiative, promising “up to 30% off the cost of the charger to individuals and businesses in low-income communities and non-urban areas.”

 

“The Department of Treasury and the Department of Energy are releasing intended definitions for eligible census tracts that will confirm that the Inflation Reduction Act’s 30C EV charging tax credit is available to approximately two-thirds of Americans. This tax credit provides up to 30% off the cost of the charger to individuals and businesses in low-income communities and non-urban areas, making it more affordable to install EV charging infrastructure and increasing access to EV charging in underserved communities,” the White House announced last month.

 

According to the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) eligibility map, areas such as Martha’s Vineyard – the well-known summer haven for the rich and powerful, with homes regularly priced in the millions – have been marked as eligible for these subsidies.

 

The classification hinges on a part of the IRS code that allows areas to be considered low-income if their median family income falls below 80% of the surrounding metropolitan area or state, despite the actual wealth that may be present in these locales.

The House Judiciary Committee announced this week that they are suing FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan for defying a congressional subpoena.

 

House investigators want to question Elvis Chan on his role related to the federal government’s alleged collusion with social media companies to censor speech.

 

According to the committee, Elvis Chan served “as the primary liaison” between the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force and social media companies.

 

The committee first subpoenaed Chan in September 2023 after he refused to appear before the committee voluntarily.

 

Special Agent Elvish Chan became famous because in communications with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, Meta (Facebook) identified Chan as the FBI agent who effectively requested/demanded that Facebook censor the Hunter Biden laptop story.

 

You may recall the Mark Zuckerberg bombshell in which he admitted that the Federal Government strong-armed him into censoring all speech about the news story.

 

The DOJ, on behalf of Biden, later tried to strong-arm Meta (Facebook) into retracting its statements identifying Chan as the source trying to coerce Meta into censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story.

 

Thankfully, the Louisiana Federal Judge saw through this nonsense, and denied the DOJ’s request to shut down “Special” Agent Chan’s deposition.

 

In his Order denying the Biden Administration in November 2022, the federal judge noted that even if Chan had not been the one to coerce Meta regarding the Hunter Biden Laptop, because he’s the assistant special agent in charge for the office whose territory includes Silicon Valley, odds were that he knew something relevant to the lawsuit.

A new report is shedding light on how federal COVID funds were used to give $1,000 checks to illegal immigrants in Washington state who were eligible to receive federal economic impact payments during the pandemic because of their immigration status. Were ineligible for.

 

The report, from the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC), points to money administered by the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF), which was created by the American Rescue Plan Act and was intended to help state and local governments recover from their . The group's report, which calls for a smaller federal government, highlighted how $340 million of the money went into a program that sent $1,000 checks to illegal immigrants in the state. The funding, approved by the Washington state legislature in April 2021, provided "another round of funding for undocumented Washingtonians," according to an impact report on the program.

 

The Washington COVID-19 Immigrant Relief Fund was first established in 2020 to deliver checks to people ineligible for government assistance programs due to their immigration status. Treasury documents confirm that the state has since provided an additional $340 million in federal relief funds for one-time cash grants, with 10% of the funds going to community-based organizations to administer the program.

 

Biden claims 'I did everything I could' to secure the border

 

EPIC reports, "The $340 million project is classified as a 'cash transfer' expenditure under the SLFRF approved for Washington State. This means the Biden administration has directly funded the COVID-19 response. “Subsidized ‘undocumented’ immigration under the guise of pandemic relief.” Said.

 

The state said it had previously earmarked $128 million from the Trump-era CARES Act for the 120,000 immigrants who did not qualify for economic relief, but the funding was not enough for the number of applications the program received.

 

The fund has now been exhausted, with the final payment due in early 2023. State officials said the fund was "an opportunity to help those who may have been left out of other federal and state resources to address the economic impact of the pandemic."

 

The Economic Policy Innovation Center report highlights several other projects related to illegal immigration for which federal funds were used, including programs in Arizona for art, music and dance classes for immigrants and the expansion of shelters in Massachusetts. .

HEARTLAND INSTITUTE RELEASES REPORT – BASED ON RASMUSSEN RESULTS – PRESIDENT TRUMP WON THE 2020 ELECTION

 

This paper examines the likely impact that fraudulent mail-in ballots cast for both Joe Biden and Donald Trump in the 2020 election could have had upon the overall electoral results, based upon recently unearthed evidence indicating widespread mail-in voter fraud indeed occurred in the 2020 election. After summarizing the problems associated with mail-in voting, we discuss the results of a groundbreaking poll conducted by The Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports in November/December 2023, which attempted to definitely assess the degree of fraudulent voting that took place in the 2020 election.

 

The results of the survey are nothing short of stunning, and upon their release, they sparked numerous conversations about the amount of fraud in the 2020 election and the potential impact of mail-in ballot fraud in future elections. For example, former President Trump referred to the poll as “the biggest story of the year” and “the most important poll released in the past 20 years.”

 

According to the results of the survey, a massive number of voters who cast ballots by mail admitted to committing at least one form of voter fraud in the 2020 election. Some of the most important findings from the poll include:

 

• 21 percent of mail-in voters admitted that in 2020 they voted in a state where they are “no longer a permanent resident.”

• 21 percent of mail-in voters admitted that they filled out a ballot for a friend or family member

• 17 percent of mail-in voters said they signed a ballot for a friend or family member “with or without his or her permission.”

• 19 percent of mail-in voters said that a friend or family member filled out their ballot, in part or in full, on their behalf.

 

After analyzing the raw survey data, we were also able to conclude that 28.2 percent of respondents who voted by mail admitted to committing at least one kind of voter fraud. This means that more than one-in-four ballots cast by mail in 2020 were likely cast fraudulently, and thus should not have been counted.

 

Because Joe Biden received significantly more mail in votes than Donald Trump, we conclude that the 2020 election outcome would have been different in the key swing states that Donald Trump lost by razor thin margins in 2020—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—under the 28.2 percent scenario. American journalist Tucker Carlson has been placed on the Ukrainian Myrotvorets 'Kill List'.

Myrotvorets is a Ukrainian Kyiv-based website that publishes a running list, and sometimes personal information, of people who are considered by authors of the website to be "enemies of Ukraine" or, as the website itself states, "whose actions have signs of crimes against the national security of Ukraine, peace, human security, and the international law".

Although it has no official status, the website is regularly consulted at checkpoints to integrate government information systems.

Social media has come out in support of Carlson, with users calling Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy a 'dictator' for using a Kyiv based doxing website grossly nicknamed "Peace Maker" with its very own "Kill list" against Carlson.

On Tuesday, Tucker Carlson, previously of Fox News, hinted at an upcoming interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This interview marks the first time a Western journalist has spoken with Putin since Russia's invasion of Ukraine nearly two years ago.

The Kremlin confirmed on Wednesday that the interview indeed occurred. They stated that Carlson's stance was not in favor of Ukraine or Russia but rather leaned towards being "pro-American."

An image of Carlson's page on the website quickly went viral on social media, but the claims were soon fact-checked by other people online.

It was revealed that his name had been put up on the so-called 'kill list' way back in June of 2023, proving that it had nothing to do with his interview with Putin.

Carlson is a well-known conservative media figure, critical of the West’s backing of Ukraine. He has also previously expressed support for Putin.

The 54-year-old journalist's visit to the Russian capital has been thoroughly covered by local media reporting on his every move.

"There are risks to doing an interview like this, obviously, so we've thought about it over many months," Carlson said on his announcement video.

Carlson mentioned that since the commencement of the conflict in Ukraine, Western journalists have conducted numerous interviews with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, whom he has repeatedly called a 'dictator.'

However, according to Carlson, these interviews as biased and excessively favorable towards Zelensky's advocacy for increased U.S. involvement in the conflict. Carlson labeled them as "fawning pep sessions" and criticized them for being propoganda.

'That is not journalism - it is government propaganda,' he said in the announcement video.

Additionally, Carlson highlighted the absence of interviews with Russian President Vladimir Putin by Western journalists, emphasizing a lack of balanced coverage.

A US report says 32 captives held by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip have been killed in Israeli bombings as the occupying regime continues its brutal war on the besieged territory.

 

Citing a document compiled by Israeli intelligence officers, the New York Times reported on Tuesday that 32 of the 136 captives held by Hamas have died since Israel began its bombing campaign against Gaza in early October.

The daily newspaper, citing four military sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, reported that Israel is also assessing unconfirmed intelligence indicating that at least 20 other captives may have also been killed by the bombings.

 

The Israeli military also told the New York Times that it was “deploying all available resources to locate and retrieve as much information as possible” regarding the captives currently held by Hamas.

 

The latest development comes as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is on a tour in the region, purportedly seeking a new deal on a truce and the release of captives.

 

Back in November, Hamas and Israel reached an agreement with Israel on a temporary ceasefire in Gaza.

 

Under the prisoner swap deal, which was mediated by Qatar and Egypt, during the four-day truce in Gaza, at least 50 Israeli captives were expected to be freed. In exchange, 150 Palestinian prisoners were to be released, all women and children.

 

Hamas has already said any ceasefire deal in Gaza must entail the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces and the lifting of the regime’s blockade of the territory.

 

Israel waged its brutal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out an unprecedented operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Democrats don’t follow laws, and they don’t take them to limit themselves or their advocates, but Markey is playing with fire. Any immediate challenge to the bill, should it become law, and it will get challenged should that happen, would have a difficult time surviving even a constructionist reading of the Second Amendment.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

You might argue, given the deliberate words in the Second Amendment, that it exists to prevent Ed Markey and Democrats from banning militias or anything the government decides has the appearance of one. The Left has also gone to great lengths, for as long as they’ve been able, to argue that local National Guard units are what is meant by militia, but that makes no sense. A free state cannot protect itself from an overreaching tyranny with garrisoned National “troops,” even if they are constituted of locals. The word ‘National’ suggests fidelity to the general government, not the states.

The states ratified the constitution to restrain the national government in the interest of their freedom from it. It is, therefore, contrary to suggest that the security of a free state, in the form of a militia, can in any way be confused with a national guard. Or perhaps it can, but given the plain language of the Amendment and the fact that every other right of the people is individual, a Supreme Court-level challenge seems unlikely to survive this – if it even has to go that far to get turned away.

i watched that aspirin documentary some anon posted a week ago. i didn't know this but it's simply salicylic acid. good at fighting cancer and promoting proper dna replication. the acid might melt parasite eggs i think. back in the day with the willow bark there were some complications but with modern technology we can isolate the salicylic acid now. i think simply using vinegar is how they figured it out. big pharma doesnt promote aspirin because it is so cheap and doesnt make them money.
